My bud here asked a very important question: why Tobias stole a very sacred and important book?

The short answer is: because Tobias has a curse and he wanted to find a cure.

OMG HOW- calm down, first things first.

As I said before, when Alex and Elisa started to take their relationship more seriously, Alex would hang out in the Colony using a shrinking potion and preteding to be an imp. He was well accepted as one by Elisa's fellow imps and fairies and they never had many problems with his disguise.

But there was this one, powerful, envy fairy who took notice that something about Alex was... off.

She started to do her own investigations and ended up finding the truth out: Alex was no imp, but a human in disguise. Although, to her, this was actually very good news.

Why? Because this fairy - Irwalia - comes from a family that has been preaching an ancient propecy over a century now. Said prophecy omens that, one day, a being with the strongest of souls - a fairy soul - and the strongest of bodies - a human body - would be born to free the Colony from it's decades of war.

There are a lot of fairy families that preach this prophecy till this day, but all of them are taken as delusionals by most of the Colony's inhabitants. It's impossible to have a being that has a different soul from it's body, it just can't happen. But they hold onto their beliefs firmly regardless.

When Irwalia learned the truth about Alex, she couldn't help but be ecstatic: she had finally found a human inside the Colony's walls. And, if SHE was the one who discovered him first, then she must be the one meant to give birth to this prophetic child… right?

In a vengeful and spiteful spirit, Irwalia decided to not report Alex to the Colony's authorities, but instead take her anger out on what the human and his imp wife treasured the most: their only child.

Alex and Elisa didn't took long to find Toby, afterall she wanted to take her revenge in front of them...

Irwalia cursed Toby with something that not only breaked Alex's heart, but made the child defenseless if he ever encountered a human: if in close proximity to a human, Toby is completely unable to do any kind of magic.

This may not sound like a big deal, but imps, especially imp borrowers, take great advantage from their magic abilities to protect themselves from the sight of humans and their malicious intents. And, of course, Toby would never be able to obtain his full magic potential (which he has a lot of) around his own father.

Aside from all that, his hair is now bright blue, a side effect of the curse that makes it difficult for him to hide from humans and dangerous animals.

Toby grew up not being allowed to leave the Colony EVER because of his curse. So when he became an adult, after getting involved in a lot of trouble inside the Colony, being the little thief and vagabond that he is, he thought-

Unfortunately, he never had the chance to actually seek a cure for his curse in the book because he was discovered for his theft before that, yeah, it was all kind of pointless, he truly sucks at hiding.

Huh, I also wonder why it worked...

My friend Crepe (@springinthesky) used sorXa as the basis for an alternate palette of a character that she's making who has long hair, and I loved how it looked so much that it inspired me to finally draw a long-haired sorXa like I've been meaning to for the past few months :^)

Edit: Went back and fixed a few coloring errors, and made a few other adjustments that I think look better (original version under the cut, for posteriority's sake:)

Dear Lady Montilyet, I have little time to spare away from my duties so I'm just going to be blunt. My younger brother can be as stubborn as a ram when he wants to be, both him and my sister take after our father's side of the family, you see? They never really followed the family's traditions and while he, unlike Freya, didn't outright disown the Maker I struggle to see how could he accept to play any role in this he didn't choose for himself. I urgently advise you to find a way to tame him that doesn't involve trying to boss him around. I know for a fact that would be a losing battle.

Honestly nothing is more self fulfilling that making patch pants (or a vest or a jacket). Scrounging together pre-made and self made patches, laces, fun squares of fabric, maybe studs. Telling the world who you are, heart on your sleeve (or legs, in my case).

It's about connecting to my punk brethren; about saying I'm here, trans cripple punks like me exist, we can have patches about pro Palestine and kilking cops, but we also like a snake patch and one full of drawn eyes.

The self expression, the ability to connect with other people like me in public with a glance, all with minimal verbal communication (and when people ask about the patches, it's so exciting! Because they're asking about you! It's so lovely!)

If you are a punk/alt this is your sign. Make that patch jacket, sew those patches you've collected on the hem of your favorite jeans. If it looks ugly, fuck yeah, that's authentic baby! It's good if it's messy, if it feels vulnerable. That's art baby!

OK SO my fellow friend here asked me how old the boys are, if Brad lives alone and if he's still in school.

As you well said, there is an old post here that says that Toby's 20 and Brad's 15, those are their ages in the current Euphoria timeline. So how Brad lives all by himself when he's so young?

Euphoria is set in the capital city of a brazillian state. That being said, Brad lives by himself in this capital in the very same house where Alex used to live and where he met Elisa. Not because of destiny lol, Alex bought the house and Brad simply went to live there bc it belongs to his father.

After Alex and Elisa tragically "broke up", he moved back to his hometown with baby Brad, bc this where his family lives and he needed some support. Alex's hometown is a small city not very far from the capital and Brad lived there with his father till the age of 15.

Brad went to live in his father's house in the capital bc he decided to study in a technical high school located in this city. That means he has academic classes and classes related to a specific job sector at the same time c:

Alex didnt come with him bc he works as a doctor in a hospital in his hometown, but he visits him as much as he can since it's not very far away.

... mostly to complain about cleaning matters.

... and to give the boys heart attacks.

So this is why Brad lives alone! Alex pays for most of his expenses, but he has a part-time job to help with the money c:
