Halloween decorating has brought a surprise! It's amazing what you find when you move some boxes around to reach the plastic skeletons in the back!

I’m using the Ethereal Visions deck with art from Matt Hughes. It includes two additional major arcana cards. When I pull one of the extra cards I use it to frame the next card I pull and use both cards in one spot.

So using the Artist as the frame for what has been weighing on me, Death, I’ve been struggling to determine what my next steps are in my outside endeavors. I’ve worked for many years as a Network Analyst, then I switched my focus to my children, now they are older I am trying to figure out the best use of my skills and time. Lately I have been a guest teacher.

Creatively being an IT pro was never fulfilling. Being a parent I’ve been able to explore more creative ideas. Being a guest teacher has been really fun, helping kids in small ways feels amazing. Death signals a new start or new adventure. I’ve been seriously considering taking classes in education. Not to become a full time teacher but to help me better understand children’s needs.

The fool encourages me to take on this new path with a sense of fun and free spiritedness. Remaining as innocent as the kids I work with.

The Eight of Swords challenges me to understand that what holds me back is myself and my perceptions of lack of skills.

This morning, I asked the cards “How do I practice stillness today?” I drew the 2 of Swords, the Ace of Swords and the 7 of Cups from the Ethereal Visions Luna Tarot. 🌟 Even when I’m not creating something, my mind is always trying to think of what it will create next, how it will finish the chapter, what this character will say, how I will solve this plot hole. I’ve been trying to find balance between rest, creating and play as I know a life with only creation will leave me empty. ⭐ I’m drawn to the Ace of Swords in the centre. On the left, it shows me holding on to everything, unwilling to let go of all the projects that I have going on. This is the mindset that I have to do everything, that it doesn’t matter how tired I am, I have to get it all done. On the right, there’s all the distractions, all the characters speaking at once, all the words waiting patiently to be written. In the centre is the Ace of Swords. It cuts through all of that, bringing the mental clarity that I need to move forwards. 🌟 In order to practice stillness, I need to let those Swords that I’m holing on to fall to the ground and turn away from the distractions within me.
