This golden headpiece was first worn by Fahriye Sultan in the fourth episode of the first season of Magnificent Century: Kösem. It appeared again on Ester Hatun in the twelth episode of the second season.

lord i didn't care for handan/dervish at all in the first season but this atike/ester/silahtar/gevherhan bullshit in the second is making me straight up long for handan and dervish. at least their subplot had the decency to involve only two people and be somewhat relevant

If I remembered my wikipedia account name and password, I would change it myself, but someone linked Ester Hatun on the Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem page to Esther Handali. She is never referred to as Esther Handali in the series and it also doesn't make sense.

Esther Handali died in 1588 and was a kira to Nurbanu and Safiye (maybe also Hürrem). She has no association with Kösem, especially since Kösem was only born in 1589, a year after Esther's death. Ester Hatun might be inspired by Esther Handali and her colleagues but she is not her.

This is so random but did you ever notice that you can sometimes see the breath of the actors in indoor scenes (e.g. Mahidevran breaking down after she is informed about Hürrem & Süleyman's wedding + when Ester Hatun is wearing the blue dress that is later Kösem's and is visited by I don't remember who at her home at night). If it was really this cold on the indoor set sometimes, I feel especially bad for Nur in that beautiful but very thin dress.

I hadn't noticed that. I don't know much about the working conditions on set, but that is definitely a red flag to me. Especially in the context of the fact that Meryem Uzerli left the show because of health problems and burnout. Burnout does happen, but it is also an indication that there were issues.

Favorite sultanas pashas kalafs/Agas and children in MC and MC:K. Also who is you favorite sultan among both shows (Sulieman, Ahmed, Mustafa, Osman, Murad and Ibrahim)

Sultanas:-Hurrem obviously. My favorite throughout the 4 seasons Meryem amd Vahide were amazing.

Kalfas/Aghas:-Nigar Hatun. She was always interesting in the 3 seasons and I loved Daye Hatun in season 2. For Aghas obviously Sumbul.

Pashas:- Rustem was amazing because Ozan is perfect.

Princes:-Selim. Very realistic

Children cast:- They were all amazing honestly. My favorites were fetus Mihrimah ,fetus Mustafa and fetus Cihangir.

Sultanas:- Halime in SO1. Kosem in SO2. Halime is just beautiful and consistent throughout the season…Aslihan did an amazing job. For SO2 Nurgul is Kosem sultan. Period.

Kalfas/Aghas:- Cennet, I loved her she was hilarious and Haci agha. Haci wasn’t as interesting as Sumbul was but still great. Ester too if she counts.

Pashas:- Kemankes because he wasn’t dying to be Murad’s boy. Also Abaza mehmed pasha was looking good.

Princes:-Kasim , wished he’d ascend the throne half of the chaos wouldn’t have happened. Also loved adult Mustafa in SO1.

Children cast:-again all of them were amazing. I loved fetus Mustafa and the young boy who played Murad.

Favorite sultan out of all of them:- Ahmed probably. I mean I exclude Osman and Mustafa for being absolutely useless and we didn’t see much of their “eras” either. SS and Mu rat are absolutely terrible assholes egotists so I’ve got no choice but Ahmed here.
