This blue and gray kaftan with gold embellishments was first worn by Umut Nalbantoğlu as Sultan Mehmed IV in the final episode of Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem (Magnificent Century: Kösem) in 2017.

The kaftan appeared again in the twenty-sixth episode of the first season of Tozkoparan İskender on Yağız Kılınç as Sinan Karayaman in 2021.

It was also worn by Miraç Sözer as Şehzade Mehmed (later Sultan Mehmed II) in the second episode of the 2023 first season of Kızılelma: Bir Fetih Öyküsü (Golden Apple: The Grand Conquest).

HotD failed on hair and wardrobe on multiple fronts, but I think Rhaenys might be the most frustrating because the solution was so simple.

It's bad enough they changed her hair seemingly just to make Rhaenyra look bad for having dark-haired sons. But they also really said they wanted her to have a "regal" presence with hair that evokes Ottoman sultanas, and they didn't take the obvious route?

The one that would not only look better, but also help worldbuild and mark cultural differences, and remove the need for another expensive wig? They could have used that money on poor Rhaena. Damn, they could have simply stuck a custom headdress on half the blondes to disguise the cheapness of the wigs. It's 'medieval Europe.' It should not be out of the question for women to have their hair covered.

This black and golden robe is first worn by Sultan Süleyman I in the second episode of the first season of Magnificent Century. Two episodes later, it appears on Hürrem Sultan. It is briefly seen on Princess Isabella Fortuna in the thirteenth episode of the second season. The robe is worn again by Şehzade Selim (later Sultan Selim II) in the eighth episode of the fourth season.

It appears again on Safiye Sultan in the first episode of the first season of Magnificent Century: Kösem.

hm so question, is it a common thing for the mck fandom to like season 2 kösem more than season 1 kösem bc i feel like i'm seeing that quite a lot? i'm still on season 1 and i like kösem, but i don't adore and root for her as much as i did hürrem and nurbanu from the first show. This white and golden kaftan was first worn by Hürrem Sultan in the tenth episode of the first season of Magnificent Century. It appeared again on a young Hafsa Sultan in a flashback during the thirty-fourth episode of the second season. The kaftan was also worn by Mihrimah Sultan in the twelth episode of the third season. The fourth season used the item twice, first on Rümeysa Hatun in the first episode and then on Nazenin Hatun in the seventh episode.

The kaftan also appears in Magnificent Century: Kösem, where it was worn by Hanife Hatun in the eighth episode of the second season.
