Couldnât have said this better myself. Pretty privilege is a real thing, but the amount of times itâs been harmful towards Asian women is literally countless. Iâm privileged enough to not encounter racism often, but the time I did was chalked up to âOh sheâs just jealous because you have nice skinâ. A lot of Asian stereotypes are compliments such as âAsians donât ageâ or âAsian students are good at math!â or âAsian girls are pretty~â but did everyone forget weâre human too?? No thanks to this ridiculous meme.
on responses to anti-asian violence:
something very disheartening that i have seen lately is a lot of well-meaning non-asian people saying things like â[asian womanâs name] is so beautiful! why is there so much hate???â
one issue that asian women experience in places where they are a minority is that people donât look past their âphysical beautyâ at all. thereâs a long history of asian women being treated like passive sex objects, and its incredibly dehumanizing and infantalizing. i really understand that these people think that this is a great compliment, but its exhausting and tiring to see these takes without any kind of critical thinking about why, maybe, there is so much hate and violence directed towards asian women who are considered âbeautiful.â
being considered physically beautiful does not mean that people respect you, or the fact that you have agency, thoughts, or desires that might conflict with theirs.
if other people have thoughts or questions on this, feel free to reach out to me.

Who one earth even came up with the phrase âGold Star lesbianâ loll thatâs as creepy as dudes saying âGold Star straightâ đ ridiculous.
Are you a Gold Star lesbian? (Just in case you don't know what it means, a Gold Star lesbian is a lesbian that has never had the sex with a guy and would never have any intentions of ever doing so)
wow never thought the day would come where I, a bisexual woman, would get the gold star lesbian anon, truly wild

This is a classic enemies-to-lovers/hate-to-love romance story, chockful of tropes. Both the strengths and weaknesses of this story are in its relationship to romcoms: if thatâs a format you love, youâll probably enjoy this one. If youâre allergic to romance tropes, though, Iâd advise giving it a pass.
Emma worries about feeling like she shouldnât make a big deal of her bisexualityâbut it is a big deal to her, and itâs a significant part of her identity. She worries about coming out to her parents. Partly because they have made some offhand ignorant comments in the past, but also because she doesnât know how to communicate how important it is to her. I think that bisexuality is often downplayed as not significant: when bi women are in relationships with another woman, theyâre still seen as basically a lesbian, and when theyâre with a man, theyâre seen as essentially straight. Itâs not often respected as a distinct identity, and one that can be just as meaningful to that person as being gay is. (Which is to say that everyone has their own relationship to labels.)

This is SO freaking sad T_T I know Touya is a villain and all but everyone has their own story...
Start with the blind respect continue by cruel kindness ending with a betrayal love.
