Lol I’m usually pretty basic with headcanons, I think the Sectumsempra scars is a good one. Oh and also Harry teaching Draco how to cast a Patronus while Draco teaches him wandless magic?? 👨‍🍳💋

Favorite canon moment (Drarry):

The identity (non) reveal scene at Malfoy Manor is my favourite scene from the movies. I love Tom Felton’s nuanced facial expressions as he recognizes Harry, it felt like a really charged moment. As for the books, I’ll have to go with their first meeting at Madam Malkin’s. I love Harry’s immediate dislike of spoiled Draco, that bit of dialogue did a great job establishing both characters and their future dynamics. I also love how that pivotal brief encounter made Harry choose not to join Slytherin, which pretty much shaped his path and relationship with Draco at Hogwarts.

Most underrated ship: At the moment I wanna say Parvati/Luna and Dorcas/Narcissa simply because I am in a mood for them and no one else seems to be. But seeing as those are also completely random characters to pair up, I can see why. In general, I'm gonna go with the 'popular' femslash ships? Even for just dorlene, which is definitely one of the more like established sapphic ships here, it's so hard finding it in content where it's not the sideship to wolfstar or jegulus. (Like legit if you go to the Marlene/Dorcas tag on AO3, M/M is still the most popular category and something about that just kinda annoys me sometimes lol)

There are obviously a lot of different reasons why that's the case, I'm not mad at anyone or anything, but it's a little disappointing when I just want the girls to fall in love sometimes. In that trend though, I will stick to my initial Dorcas/Narcissa and Parvati/Luna because those are girls that deserve some love.

Most overrated ship: Not to stir anything, I mean no hate to any shippers bc y'all look like you're having a blast and I'm very happy for you, but I'm so very glad for tumblr making it easy to mute jegulus posts. I don't get the appeal, I can't imagine it's something James would ever do except for very specific AUs, I just don't like it and it's grown SO much recently (especially on tiktok where filtering content is so frustratingly difficult lol). They've become one of the seemingly 'established' ship in half the headcanons I see even for other characters, and personally I'm just never a huge fan of it when that happens to any ship (simply because what I love most about the marauders era is that none of it is established) but with drarry and wolfstar, at least I like the ships you know. I just don't like jegulus and it's so prominent right now. But again, obviously, y'all seem to be having great fun and this is what they made muted tags and dldr for lmao, I'm not hating on anyone. (God knows I have no right left to judge anyway).

(I will say, I see Crimson Rivers excerpts sometimes when I looked for sirius and narcissa content on twitter, and one of the recent (I think recent) scenes made me cry without even reading the fic, so I very much get why good fics like that bring people in lmao)

I’m going to keep this post Anon because of the amount of hate I got previously. I use to write fanfics but because I didn’t pair the following: Wolfstar, Drarry, Linny, Jegulus, Scorbus, and Snarry I’m apparently homophonic. Even though none of those ships are canon and I stated I like canon pairings on my page. I stopped writing for almost over a year and a half now because when I defended myself I got more and more hate and negative comments. I did have representation of LGBQT in my stories but because I’m not pairing the above I’m labeled as a homophobe. If I made a gay character straight for example Dumbledore, yes they could call me a homophobe, but I didn’t. This one reviewer said it was ok to turn straight people gay and but it wasn’t ok to turn gay people straight (which I never did in my stories), and I should have at least 40-50% of LGBQT representation in my story. I just got frustrated because there was no winning with these guys so I deleted all my stories for good. Honestly, fandom and TikTok has ruined HP for me.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. This is absolutely awful and honestly, the way the people who claim to care about the issues of the LGBTQ+ community in this fandom just carelessly throw around such accusations is disgusting and detrimental to the cause they preach to defend.

Writing straight characters as straight definitely doesn't make you a homophobe.

It's also interesting that, apparently, it's so important for these people to write no-sense against canon pairings just because they are homosexual that it's better than writing about healthy relationships. And let's remember how a great part of these pairings comes with the bashing of female characters. But as usual, misogyny is the last thing people care about.

I personally headcanon Albus as gay because I think it's hilarious that the only child of Harry and Ginny that is named after a Slytherin and a gay man is the one everybody decided is in Slytherin and gay. But I don't ship him with Scorpius. And you are not obliged to write Albus as a Slytherin or gay.

The only thing you need to worry about is if the character who is offering the point of view for the story knows about the sexualities of an enough large number of characters that it would be unrealistic to not have a certain percentage of characters who belong to the LGBTQ+ community (which is definitely not the 40%). Honestly, even in the original series, the only characters Harry had any business knowing the sexuality of are himself, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny. It's not unrealistic for four characters to be straight. There certainly wasn't an agenda on the author's part about having that kind of representation in her story (and the social and historical context in which the books were published should be taken into consideration here) but there's nothing unrealistic about the lack of openly gay characters (I do still think she could've hinted at the Dumbledore/Grindelwald business in DH).

And mind you, I say this as someone who once wrote a book where the main character was the only straight person in her family.

Personally, I am a firm believer in buying, reading and discussing books that have actual representation instead of trying to change already well-established characters, because you are always going to mess up. Case in point: Tonks is a surrogate for Remus and Sirius, because apparently, Teddy Lupin needs to exist, even without his mother.

The majority of the books I read don't have romance, they are mostly obscure pieces of Scandinavian crime literature, but in the series Red Queen my favourite character is bisexual and my favourite ship is an f|f one (and the bisexual character is not part of the ship just to clarify). And all that stuff is canon. Because I've actually read other things besides Harry Potter in my life.

I'm really sorry about what happened to you. I hope you keep writing, because it's a beautiful, even if at times frustrating, art. Regardless of if that writing is original or fanfiction. Regardless of if you'll go back to publishing it or you'll keep it to yourself. That book I was talking to you about? It took me six years to write it, I'm the only one who has ever read it but I had the best time writing it and it was a beloved companion throughout most of my teenagehood.

Whoa okay. I can see that I rattled some people, and I apologize for that, that’s never my intention. Also would like to add, that I’m not straight or I don’t think I am, maybe, idk. I’ve never been good with labeling and I don’t know what fits me, and I very much do enjoy slash and femslash [i’m a huge drarry, deamus, linny and fem!harry/ginny fan]. But anyways, I should have probably specified or written better what I meant. I was talking more about fandoms in general, not Hp specifically because I know she-who-must-not-be-named is a huge bigoted weirdo, and to her canonically all the characters are pretty much heterosexual, though I don’t think she ever really specified any ones sexualities [besides Dumbledores], that’s why i’m more inclined to headcanon these characters differently [though even if she did I would probably still headcanon them the way I want to because she’s problematic all in herself]. 

But yeah, I meant in specific fandoms where characters have established sexualities it feels pretty weird to change them into something they’re not. If it’s already built into their characters then I don’t think it should be changed. If they’re bi, pan, straight, gay, lesbian, etc, then let them be what they are. Unless it [their sexuality] changing has something to do with them finding themselves more or something. For example, if a character is bisexual [or bi-curious?] in one arc and throughout their journey they start to really piece together more about themselves and realize that maybe that isn’t them so in the next arc or next few arcs their sexuality is something different, then that’s fine. They were on a journey of discovery, they believed they were one thing when really they were something different or maybe they never discovered what they are and are left unlabeled. And that’s all okay! I’m not saying your sexuality has to be one thing. I’m just saying it feels iffy to change an already established sexuality into something it isn’t for no reason. It sort of takes away the representation needed for those sexualities that you change to something different. 

I was once again not trying to start anything, or offend anyone. This was just my opinion on the matter, though I’m honestly new to all of this sexuality and labeling stuff as I was raised in a pretty sheltered and catholic household. So I’m not very knowledgeable on what is right and wrong in terms of this kind of stuff. I do appreciate that you guys responded and would appreciate it a lot more if you guys could inform me more on it. 

Maybe i’m reading too much into it and maybe it’s just me, but does anyone else find it sort of problematic when people change the sexualities of a character with an already established sexuality to fit their own personal headcanon of it?

I mean, sexualities are not really something one can choose, you know? And I know they’re just fictional characters, but when you change something so vital like that it just feels sort of disrespectful and….icky?

If the character is canonically straight, let them be straight. Don’t put them with the same gender. If the character is canonically gay or lesbian, then don’t put them with the opposite gender.

This is not to say you can’t imagine them with someone of a gender they don’t prefer or think they could’ve been cute or a “what if”, but maybe don’t actually ship them together romantically.

[Would like to add that if a character doesn’t have an established/canon sexuality, than I think it’s pretty fine to imagine them anyway you want, no matter who their partner is in the actual source. As long as the author never states or gives them a sexuality, then it’s fair game I believe]

When Harry and Draco adopted a cat

Well technically... they didn’t officially adopt the cat

They hadn’t gone to an animal shelter to pick out the one they liked

Harry brought it home one day, claiming it had simply followed him on the way home from work

Draco knew better, however

Harry had probably found it on the street and had taken pity, so he brought it home

Just like he had done with that parrot, a few years ago

Until Draco had forced him to return the bird to their upstairs neighbour after some ‘missing parrot posters’ had been hung around their apartment building

This time, however, no posters appeared

And Harry was all too happy about it

Much to Draco’s growing frustration

Because that cat...

That cute, little, black kitten everyone seemed to fall in love with...

Hates Draco

It absolutely hates him, he was sure of it

From the moment Harry had called it Minnie and Draco had snorted loudly at the ridiculous lovely name, the cat had glared at him defiantly

Draco hadn’t been sure at the time just why Minne had been looking at him like that

Until the following day

When he had found claw marks covering his favourite shirt

Minnie had simply blinked at him innocently from where she was purring in Harry’s arms when Draco found her

But it didn’t stop with that

Oh no

Everyday, Minnie seemed to become more evil creative

From walking on the kitchen counter and drinking from Draco’s creamy tea to ripping apart some of his favourite books with her needle-like claws

Not to forget the amount of attention she demanded from Harry...

Harry spent more time with their cat than he did with his own boyfriend

Not that Draco was jealous

Ppffttt, absolutely not

But the last straw was when Draco walked into their bedroom one evening and found Minnie curled up next to his boyfriend and taking up his place in the bed

“That bloody, evil, book-ripping, tea-licking, boyfriend-stealing cat!” he exclaimed loudly, startling a very sleepy-looking Harry Potter

Draco was positively fuming as he made his way around to his side of the bed, trying (in vain) to get the cat to leave

Yet Minnie simply blinked at him (again) as if he was just an annoying fly that would eventually go away and leave her to sleep in peace

“What’s wrong?” Harry asked, rubbing his eyes groggily

“What’s wrong?!” Draco repeated indignantly, “what’s wrong is that cat! That’s what’s wrong!”

Harry appeared utterly confused as he looked between his boyfriend and their cat sleeping peacefully again

“What’s wrong with Minnie?”

And Draco positively lost it, ranting about all the things Minnie had done since she started living with them

Meanwhile, a wide, lopsided grin grew on Harry’s face as he watched Draco pace around the room, his hands tugging at his shoulder-length greying blond hair in frustration

Because right then and there, Harry thought he had never felt so much love for one person

And when Draco was finally done being dramatic, Harry pulled him on the bed with him and kissed him softly, shooing Minnie from the bed in the meantime

“You don’t have to be jealous of Minnie, you know”, he mumbled against the blond’s lips

Draco immediately pulled away, an icy glare in his silver eyes

“I am not jealous of that evil menace of a cat!”

Harry chuckled at that, cupping Draco’s cheek and caressing it with the pad of his thumb

“I’m sure you aren’t, love”

Whatever Draco tried to say, however, was cut off by Harry’s lips

And from the doorway of their room, a smug-looking black cat strutted into the living room to sharpen its claws on one of the pillows on the couch Draco had received as a birthday present from his mother

I do personally like Drarry hyphenating their last names, but I could also understand if Harry wouldn’t be perfectly okay to be half Malfoy just as Draco could not feel 100% comfortable being half Potter. Your ask actually made me think a lot??? 

I was there thinking and thinking...what could they do...and then... what if they went and used ‘Black’? Draco is a Black from his mother’s family and Harry’s godfather was Sirius and he loved him dearly, it would be kinda cute, wouldn’t it??! Happy Birthday Draco

unlike what everyone seems to think, i don’t think draco would want all the attention on his birthday

i think that after all the negative attention he got as a kid from his parents, and the attention from the press after the war, he’s just done with being watched

harry of course knows this bc draco’s turning 39 and they’ve been married since that crazy day when they were both 24 

but that’s a story for another time

so anyways

harry knows draco hates it when people give him tons of attention

which is what people like to do on birthdays

so the morning of june 5th, harry wakes up early. not crazy early. just earlier than draco

and just lays there and watches him sleep

and absorbs how beautiful he is

and admires how lucky he is to spend another hectic year with the most stunning man he’s ever met

he doesnt get up to make a fancy breakfast

or to prepare a party for later in the day

and draco’s face is soft and open when he’s asleep and his hair is sticking up all over 

when draco wakes up, harry barely waits for his eyes to open before he’s leaning forward to kiss him

draco is surprised but unexpectedly pleased

he smiles and kisses harry back softly

harry is happy happy and tells draco so

draco smiles and sighs before telling harry that he is allowed to wish him happy birthday only once that day

so harry gives draco the biggest smile and wishes him happy birthday before happily leaning over to kiss draco again

• He once went to the gay establishment wearing his Auror uniform and nobody lets him forget about it. He got hit on by several people who like men in the uniform

•Draco is a CI with the heart of gold, but since he is involved in shady activity, he doesn't feel too bad when he ignores the law to get what he wants or protect a certain person he loves

•He manipulated his gang to help Harry with the investigation in purely humanistic fashion, it's not like he is interested in him or anything

•Draco gets inappropriately excited when they fight together on the same side and thinks that if things were different they would have made a great team

So this was my first year writing fanfic...it’s only been a couple months actually...and I absolutely LOVE IT! It’s gotten me through this hell storm of a year. Never did I realize that diving into Harry Potter fanfiction would give me the community, friendship, and love I desperately needed. I was feeling lost and quite alone, having moved several times, leaving many friends hundreds of miles away. Now I’ve found new friends thousands of miles away, and I’ve never felt so socially fulfilled.

Thank you to everyone who inspire and encourage me to keep creating. Never would I thought I could bring so much joy (and paint 😂) to so many people! And FIND that joy in others. I have never felt a more sense of self, acceptance, and belonging.

SO. My top 5..ish!

1. Time Heals All Wounds - My ongoing Time Travel / Soulmate AU Snarry fic. I don’t know how or when I happened upon Snarry, but omg. I love it so much. I cannot begin to describe how much of myself I have poured into this fic, and how much I love it. It is definitely the embodiment of creating what you want to see in the world. Quite a few Snarry nay-sayers have converted after reading this. 😉 FULL of suspense / hurt / angst / just enough fluff. And, of course, smut. As one of my friends quoted, “It’s the fic you didn’t know you needed.”

2. That Bloody Bathroom - My VERY FIRST fic! I happened upon a Halloween writing challenge in the Fanatical Fics podcast Discord and figured...what the hell! The WC limit was 2k and...well...it was pretty much 2k. I had no idea how easy it would be for me to write. I love Drarry so much, and it was so fun to write about my OTP! It even won the Classic Drarry award...which was pretty dang cool!

3. The Boy Who Loved - My second Drarry, but FIRST chapter fic. This one is also ongoing...with about 16 chapters in...but it’s on hold since THAW has become all-consuming. BUT I’m still in love with the story. Classic Slytherin!Harry and ChosenOne!Neville. Also my first attempt at smut, which has essentially established my brand: angst / hurt / cliffhangers EVERYWHERE / and ALLS the smut. I cannot wait to get around to finishing this one.

4. Good Evening, Prime Minister - Every week the Fanatical Fics discord has a headcanon discussion about some of the more obscure HP characters we don’t know too much about. I committed to writing a ficlet each week focused on said character. For the week of Kingsley Shacklebolt, I immediately thought about the possibility of a Kingsley/Muggle Prime Minister pairing. WOW! How was this not already a thing??? Apparently I created the pairing tag on AO3 😂. This was such a cute and steamy story! I wish it was something more people would have the chance to read! (maybe this post will help!)

5. Destroy Me - So as I’ve gotten more invested in reading / writing fic, a friend and I are developing a ship culture discussion podcast (@careofmagicalshippers) focusing on the extensive universe of HP ships. While researching, I happened up on Flintwood. And WOW. I SHIP THIS SO HARD! Quidditch Rivalry = UST, obviously! This story is mad spicy. You’ll love it.

I have to append my Drawble for the Drarry Discord Drawble Challenge. I haven’t drawn a full illustration in like.....oh gosh. MONTHS...maybe over a year. My new-found passion for fic spilled over into fanart, which I hope can continue! When @bluebutter-art​ left such lovely comments, I nearly died. 😭

6. This Christmas - accompanies an adorable Christmas Drabble as well!

K this got LONG so here's a read more!

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

Honestly even though I don't multi-ship often I DO usually get the appeal behind ships so this is a really short list. This will probably get me some hate but I still to this day can't get behind c/ex@ from the show that will not be named. But then again I do get the appeal of two super attractive women with chemistry and the whole ruler/ girl who makes the ruler change their ways thing. So I guess I get it even if I don't like it?

Also, and this is not to hate on Hinny, but Harry and Ginny from HP are not my cup of tea. I like what fandom has done for them but the actual content we get for them in the books (and movies, but I prefer the books) isn't enough for me to love them. Same with Mal and Alina from S & B/ Grishaverse, they're so bland to me in the books but the show is doing far better with them and actually making Mal ya know. Likeable. Again, I don't ship it, but best friends to lovers is top tier so I get it.

Oh! I also don't really get Dwalin/Ori from The Hobbit, but that is probably in large part because I'm a Dwalin/Nori shipper. Again though, all of the secondary characters' relationships in The Hobbit rely on fans to extrapolate HARD and wear extreme shipper goggles, and ik there's that scene where Dwalin helps Ori out of the river so like.. maybe that's where it's from? I don't hate it or anything but it's always something that's made me go ??? cause I have no idea where the heck it came from.

Apart from that... I can't think of any rn? I feel like I understand where all the PJO ships come from, even if I don't ship them. There are a couple that I don't understand how they can be someone's OTP, just because I find them super boring (no offense to those who ship C@leo or J@siper but I just don't love how Rick handled those relationships). In TSC I think fandom mainly vibes with the same pairings and that's true for most of my book fandoms. With the shows I watch I don't think fans majorly ship anything too out there for me. Maybe I don't interact enough with fandoms to tell. So this is all I got.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

Oh my god, oh my god, this is a can of worms, my lord. A pairing I'm not so sure about, but characters? Abso-fucking-lutely. I took a break from PJO fandom for exactly that reason and the list of characters is endless honestly, for multiple fandoms.

I won't say fandom ruined Bell@rke for me cause I still ship it, but I definitely lost enthusiasm with how toxic the shows fandom was and then that was made even worse when the show completely destroyed itself with the worst writing and plots ever in the latter seasons.

Also I have a feeling that G@me of Thrones/ @soiaf ruined one for me but I can't remember this very second. Maybe not, and again that's probably cause I don't interact with fandoms en masse, usually just through fic and following a few people I vibe with in each.

6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?

Yes, quite a few! I used to dislike Drarry (for obvious reasons I feel) and Romione (as a kid I wanted Hermione to be with Harry and even when I grew out of that I really didn't like she was with Ron) but fandom changed that for sure. And same with Darklina now, I was upset cause I felt like the books really underutilized their relationship and fell short of what could have been a super awesome pairing if better explored, but the show fandom is taking it in so many different ways that I'm starting to really love them despite the reasons I shouldn't.

And I won't say I hated Hayffie in THG, but definitely the only reason I ship them is from reading @ellanainthetardis's fic Have a Drink Sweetheart and then all the others written for them. That portrayal of Hayffie and the characters have become my own headcanons now because I've been reading them for so long and they're so good.

Fandom made me ship Leon and Morgana from Merlin too, though that's very lowkey. I never hated them, I just never thought of them as a pairing until reading fic.

20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?

Percabeth. I don't care which fandom, it's Percabeth. Growing up together, going from enemies to friends to best friends to lovers? The establishment of them being best friends and the way Rick wrote that friendship was so pure, and they are a couple with no internal problems, all external, and you just know they're gonna be together through everything, fighting at each other's side, cause that's the way they are. There's a reason they're my OTP and it's cause they are the most well-established, ride or die couple I can think of. They're just so solid.

21. What are your thoughts on crack ships?

Love em for fandom but personally I very rarely get behind crackships just because I usually need a lot of build up, scenes, good dialogue and chemistry, etc. to ship something, so most of my ships aren't crack ships. The only one I can really think of that I actively root for and ship and would read fic for is Billy/ Owen from 911 Lonestar which is just... something.

Like idk if Barduil from The Hobbit is crack because ik it's quite popular... what makes a ship a crack ship anyway? Lack of canon reference? Is it cause they two characters would be so random together because they barely ever interact? Or because it's SO unrealistic you know for sure it will never happen but want it to anyway? Or is it lack of popularity in fandom? I need someone to define this so I have a better answer :D if it's the second option then I have MANY

I love seeing fandom stuff for crack ships though, cause seriously, it's fiction, ship who you want. If you ship two characters just cause you think they're pretty side by side then that's enough for me. Make all of the fan art and fic you like.

22. Popular character you hate?

Oof. Jason from HOO. And Leo in everything after The Lost Hero. I hated Piper in The Lost Hero and Mark of Athena but like her after those. I don't like any of the book characters from S & B except Nikolai, but I like everyone in the show (except David? Why did they make him so weird? Like he's not even awkward, he's straight up rude imo, but anyway). In @soiaf I don't like Jon Snow, I think he's boring. And I despise Jorah Mormont cause I think he's creepy for having a crush on Dany.

Didn't love Stefan in TVD, too much of a goody-two-shoes. I liked dark Stefan but it felt like a totally different character. Honestly most of the characters I don't like cause they're boring or too by-the-book.

OH! A big one in M@rvel is Captain America. Can't stand him honestly, I like him as a character to have in the story, but I like never agree with him on anything. I like a couple of his one-liners but that's it really. I also don't like Gale in THG, idk if that's controversial. Or Lex@ from the show that will not be named because I think she's manipulative and not good for any of the characters i DO love.

Is Ron popular? I think so. I like fandom Ron but not canon Ron and idk why. I think I'm growing out of it but I read those books when I was like 7 initially so I thought it was awful of Ron to stop being friends with Harry because he was jealous and I never really got over that.

There are so many but I'm gonna stop now.

23. Unpopular character you love?

Again, tons. I love anyone whose got kind of a tortured backstory because it makes them more interesting to me.

I love Movieverse Hawkeye! I think Clint is great and while I wish his deafness was canon in Marvel and I don't love J Remmer, I do love Hawkeye a lot. He was honestly one of the only Marvel characters that felt consistent and in-character throughout the movies.

I like President Snow from THG just cause I think he was a fantastic villain. And Effie and Haymitch aren't unpopular, but they're probably my favourites, again because of the fics mentioned above.

Leon from Merlin!! I don't actually think he's unpopular, but he's like... my fourth favourite character in the show which I know IS considered high for most people.

Sandor Clegane from ASOIAF. Not the show, just the books. His book character is phenomenal and I am so excited for GrrM to finish the goddamn series so I know what happens to him.

The Stolls and Katie Gardner from PJO cause fandom created Tratie and sucked me in at a young age.

Bellatrix Lestrange? Is she unpopular? I don't think so but she's another one I think is a fantastic villain. I'm almost more interested in her than Voldemort tbh.

Harry/Draco, Pansy/Luna (2020, Teen and Up, 38k)

Harry Potter’s life is fine. Maybe a little dull and predictable, but he shouldn’t complain about that, right? When he unexpectedly finds himself at Luna’s house one afternoon, Harry gets invited to join the secret wonderland that she’s creating with a surprising group of friends. Maybe a summer outdoors is just what a former hero needs to bring some zest back into his life.

I had a feeling this would be a therapeutic read and now I’m so glad I saved it for a difficult week because this was just what I needed. What a fantastic story! I adore quiet fics exploring the magic & nature combo and @xanthippe74​ spoils us with gorgeous settings, soothing atmosphere and a gentle love story. I love Luna’s calm and aloof perceptiveness - it warms my heart to think she’s the one holding this group together, inspiring them to create and enjoy this little magical world. I had a great time following their camping routine, each character finding a manual talent to contribute with, it was so delightfully comforting and mundane. 

I personally like to headcanon Harry as someone who has a special relationship with food so I was very pleased to see this being explored here. His character is so so lovely and he navigates his issues and sexuality in a gentle, honest and thoughtful way. I love many of his introspective moments, especially the stag scene, which literally took my breath away because omg, FEELS. And the Drarry subplot is absolutely exquisite. I like how things are tense and complicated at first, both painfully aware of each other and tiptoeing around their past, but I appreciate the that they were mature enough to talk things out and establish a soft, tentative truce. Smitten Harry is always a joy to read, all obvious and oblivious lol, and this fic has one of my favorite first kisses ever, as sweet and enchanting as the rest of this story. More than a charming love tale, this is about a group of interesting people choosing to move on and heal together. Call me a sap but seeing this unexpected gang experience such a delightful summer adventure warmed my heart for the whole weekend. Go read it now!

So since I’m new to Drarry, I’m kind of finding my own headcanons (I feel like I need to reread the books with Drarry goggles soon, because a lot of details are hazy right now) - and curious about the established fandom headcanons (there always are some of those widely accepted ideas, aren’t there?)

Like, what about the Harry/Ginny situation? I’ve read only a few solutions so far, but mostly vague and they often boil down to ‘she’s out of the picture’ (which, fair enough! I just like to get into things!)

I was thinking that maybe Ginny wants more from life than what Harry needs at that point. Like, I see Ginny going places, the quidditch reporter for the Prophet sounds a bit tame to me. I see her becoming a Quidditch coach after her player days are over. She wants action, much like Charlie. 

I also always thought that Harry would not become an Auror in the end. I understood his wish to become one, at first, but I think the war would have changed his mind. I always liked the idea of him becoming the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts. He always felt home there, he was happiest there, and it would break the string of ‘cursed’ teachers. He already proved to be a good teacher in the DA.

I think Harry would want to have the warm family life that was taken from him, that he’d seen at the Weasley household. I think Ginny and Harry love each other a lot, but they’d just come at a point where they’d want different things and they’d want the other to be happy.
