okay last post because this shit has just been triggering..

why is it so hard for nonblack “allies” to understand and accept that their opinions on antiblackness matter less than those who actually experience it? why is it never “oh my bad I overstepped” it always has to be an argument or something

is there an actual reason? if someone tells me “hey this behavior directly affects me and is kinda fucked up” I’m not readying my Twitter fingers and stroking my fake mustache to be like “you’re a fool who doesn’t understand the world” I’d be like “oh shit I’m sorry what did I do?”

btw if anyone is watching the cold war documentary on ntflx? dont bother. lamo this is the dumbest doc i have seen in a while. it leaves out too much stuff, it presents things as true that are blatantly false if you give more information, and it states 'theories' as facts. some facts it just plain gets hilariously wrong. there is an agenda in this documentary that it isnt stating outright, that i am highly suspicious of, and i would be curious to know who is funding it.

#jrnlsht #ah i looked up the producers and now it makes sense -_-#this is a good reminder to always check documentary sources if the documentary itself is almost entirely secondary sources #its also worth nothing that it doesnt look like any reputable history journals reviewed this doc #disclaimer to my own statement: i know very very little ru*ssian history #but i know waaaaaaay too much about us imperialism in south america and the middle east and the doc kept getting that VERY WRONG #which tipped me off to start questioning the rest of it #like seriously every time they would start to explain what was happening in the us and south america i would be like wow red flag red flag #another sentence another red flag something is up #on the surface it all is very believable and there is some valid information but be cautious #i think my biggest fear for the united states right now is that teenagers in school are not taught how to think critically #especially with stuff like this

AHA I learned how to make home made pins (which are stored on this piece of foam for now until I can get or craft a display to put them on)

Some came out warmer tinted than I intended and a few of the Chica cup handles broke but I had fun with it. I applied a sealer to protect them from weather and water but might switch to resin, but resin is also expensive so depends. I might sell these in sets but the ones with some errors will be b-grade discounted obviously. I have other designs as well but haven't tested those yet

Please please please think of trans people of color when you’re going to make a generalized statement. When you’re making posts about passing tips, medical treatments for transitioning, even light hearted stereotypes include people of color in your sentiments.

#legend of zelda #loz #twilight princess #loz tp #i'm still reeling that someone sent me an ask about this one.. that they took the time to find my tumblr and tell me they liked it #it really meant a lot; thank you to anyone that stops to leave comments like that. they make me happy #but yeah! here's the usual symbolism ramble:#i thought it'd be cool to have the 'spirits' flowing one way and the cats walking through them the other way #to kinda show the difference in life inhabiting the village in the past and present #link's face is covered because impaz was just waiting for 'the hero' so his clothes are what matters; not his face #and it (hopefully) gives a surreal and intangible sense to 'the hero' she could only hope would actually show up #you can feel free to interpret the glowy blue sheikah as ghosts or just as memories of the past! i couldn't decide either way #the one on the bottom left is oot impa since she's implied to be the village founder. so i guess she would be a ghost actually?#fan art #my art #project stuff #and ahhh the book-- everyone's stuff is so beautiful!!#especially the writing. some of the fics made me really tear up and some were so fun and clever. i really love them #a lot of them captured the sheer burden of the role of the sheikah; all of the time and grief and doubt #i know i always say this stuff about every project but. the people i get to work with in these are truly so skilled every time

#rug hooking #wip #purely personals #fabrication #older sis is getting a swan and bb sis is getting an otter #went out today and donated a bunch of yarn at an art supply swap thing #was nice that they had small amounts of yarn/not full skeins that other people donated #because I don't really need a whole ass skein especially if it's solid color #I just want bits and pieces so I can do stuff like the swan background #like this a lot more than latchhook; like latchhook would be pixel art and rug hooking is more like drawing/more freeform #oH it's also nice that all that yarn I prechopped for latchhook I can still use for rug hooking haha #also went to a fabric store and it was crammed full of stuff and the yarn selection was actually really nice #will def go back
