for no reason other than i find it really funny and very inspirational

im not the best artist, but i’d always wanted to learn how to draw papyrus (cos he’s just so cool). so i looked up a sprite and just straight up copied it.

but that didn’t give me a good handle on how to get the little details, bc im not good at interpreting pixel details lmao

so i looked up fanart to copy!!!

as u can see its sorta meh lol

but what it did do though, was give me a sense of how you can stylise him, and also his facial expressions, which was smth i couldn’t get from just copying the pixel art (because i wasn’t confident enough yet to just use my imagination)

RRRRR i fucking hate this drawing but it was definitely a turning point

i experimented a lot with facial expressions and ESPECIALLY the shape of his face (which is something i change up even now)

THEN WE GOT HERE!!!

THERE IS IMPROVEMENT EVEN THOUGH I ALSO HATE THIS DOODLE

and after a while…

i felt confident enough to make up my own poses for him!~~

at that stage, i was getting pretty confident in my ability to draw papyrus with no references.

i actually love this one

this journey really cemented papyrus as my favourite undertale character. i drew him all the time in my school notes (which definitely helped), and loved making larger coloured pencil pieces with him in them. i would’ve never grown so fond of mr dinosaur egg oatmeal had i not suddenly decided to draw him 7 months ago….

lesson learned: just keep doodling and messing about and copy as much fanart as you want (nobody online is there to see it and accuse you of stealing if you’re just sketching alone…) and if you’re stubborn enough then you’ll get better >:]

Johnny’s being weird

(A Ghoap Teen!AU - Part 2)

Johnny’s being weird. He wasn’t answering Simon’s texts and he’d skipped chemistry (the only class they had together) and when he’d kicked open the side door leading out of the gym at lunch Johnny hadn’t been there either. The fuck was happening?

Simon had noticed Johnny on his first day, how could you not? He was so different than anyone Simon had ever met. First of all, who moved to Manchester? All he’d ever wanted to do was get away from this hellhole. If not for Tommy he’d have probably split at 16.

Johnny was loud and Scottish and played sport and was handsome and yeah Simon had noticed him before they’d been paired together but had never expected they’d have anything in common

Truthfully Johnny didn’t know any cool bands, he came to school chinos his first week, he’d even been sitting with the popular crowd at first too (since he had immediately made it onto the football team) so Simon was shocked to find that he could draw

The green color pencil illustrated mashup of fire and bone and weaponry currently gracing the front cover of Simon’s school binder was testament to that. They’d been talking about what Johnny should draw for the bottom of Simon’s skateboard (currently layered with stickers) when he’d worked up the nerve to finally kiss him

Sure he’d really only shotgunned the last of the blunt they were sharing into the shocked boys mouth and he’d sort of clacked their teeth together in his efforts but Johnny didn’t pull away. And he wore this very attractive flush on his cheeks right up until Simon walked him back to the head of his street.

The weekend had passed and now that it was 3pm on Monday, Simon was starting to panic. Had he really misread the situation so badly?

…

Football practice ran until 6pm. Simon hung back, to the left side of the stands, lighting up a smoke so he’d have something to do with his hands. He figured it wouldn’t go over too well, especially if Johnny really was cross with him, if he made a point to sit with the players girlfriends on the bleachers. He was starting to get looks just being there at all.

Still, as soon as Johnny saw him he smiled bright as anything and Simon felt like he could fly if he kept looking at him like that

Their next kiss is much better. After everyone clears the pitch, Johnny walks right up to him, pushes him up against the chainlink fence behind the bleachers and kisses the breath out of him. He tastes like blue Gatorade. This time he walks Johnny right up to his front door, clutching his sweaty hand the whole way, and is even invited to stay for supper— Johnny’s relatives are in town so he and his sisters had been signed out for the whole school day (Simon feels like an idiot)

Afterwards they go to up to his room (the door left half way open in respect to Johnny’s Maw) to play some first person shooter game Simon’s family could never have afforded. Johnny also has Guitar Hero and Simon beats his high score on Holiday in Cambodia.

It starts to get late and Simon says he really ought to get home to make sure Tommy’s fed (the only reason he’d ever want to leave truly) and Johnny says he understands.

Johnny walks him back to the street and Simon steals another lingering kiss before sliding off the checkered sweatband from his right wrist and shoving it onto Johnny’s. He wears it from then on.

My 1st Year of Drawing through Fanart

I really started in July, so it’s not a full year, but taking a look back at where I started in 2024 is pretty cool! Checking for improvement, noticing where I was struggling. I can even see what skill I was trying to pick up at the time based on the jump in the skills quality/the lack of focus on others. So before the year ends here is:

Would you believe it took me 3 tries to get freaking BILL CYPHER right ?!? This is V2 actually but it’s a good indicator of where I was starting.

This was the first day I decided drawing was fun for me. I woke up, and immediately picked up my pencil to spend all morning drawing, without truly realizing it. Keep in mind I didn’t even have a pencil to draw with before this session, the other work in this notebook are, like, all pen.

Is the art good, not really, but you can tell who she is and at this point that’s kinda my only goal. If it looks like ‘em it’s close enough for me.

Side note: This is the piece that instilled the fear I will mess up any nice sketch by coloring it, a fear I still have to this day.

She may look decent here but in my sketchbook she’s ruined foreverrrr XD

Ok…maybe there’s a pattern with the kinda characters I’m compelled to draw.

Aaaanyway this is where I started focusing on hair more, the spikey look was my thing in the beginning while I was still trying to figure out how hair works. Lowkey I’m still trying to figure it out.

Also WHY DID I DRAW THE EAR LIKE THAT?!? What was I even going for 💀

Fun fact: Daria is my benchmark for progress! She’s been my favorite character since I was a teenager & she’s made of pretty simple shapes. I imagine when I get more confident I’ll take more liberties with how I draw her, like Jane, instead of trying to make it a one to one mimick.

Also bonus Sir Integra Hellsing, she was my first attempt to an actual anime style especially in the hair. And similarly to jinx you can tell this was more focused on learning on drawing her hair rather than her face. This was a trend for a few weeks which did come back to bite me in the ass with this next piece

Ya know what I didn’t see a theme with the characters I draw before I started making this post, and now I definitely do.

But OH you can SEE my struggle with her on the page🤦🏾‍♀️! This genuinely took me 2 days to do because her face frustrated me so much I rage quit till the next night.

After this I went back to practicing eyes and finally trying finding out how to draw mouths and lips in different ways and positions to avoid this problem (Didn’t work, I still often refuse to draw a face if the hair/body is pretty)

And to top it off I inked it & accidentally made her lids look like eyebrows, so now I have a fear of inking 🙄 Thanks Catra >.>

Now THIS is where I actually started staring at my hands for a good 30 seconds after drawing like “MY HANDS MANAGED TO MAKE THIS??” Because this was only 6 DAYS after I rage quit on Catra. Yet I can make this?!!? What?!?

This was genuinely just supposed to be a doodle to practice using his big ol’ grin to learn how mouths work cuz he’s all mouth and teeth. But lowkey, still have no idea how this and the next one happened. It was a weirdly good art-day for me but I had never been more proud. And shockingly I’m still really happy with how these came out, usually I get pretty ‘Meh’ on my favorites after a while. Maybe even kinda nitpicky, but these two feel like my magnum opus for the year.

^^Look at this!! If I could inject this I would! Angel Dust with Pinchers is the BEST version. I will not take criticism.

This, similar to Fizz, was mostly for his eyes and to try to get the flow of hair and fluff down.

By this point I discovered if I find which of my favorite character has a design quality that is unique that correlates to the skill, I can trick my brain into picking up the skill through hyperfixations and sheer force of will.

Aaand welcome to Valentine fails to figure out expressions and head positions, ;-; someone give me back my 3/4 front facing view cuz obviously I can’t do anything else.

This was the most low effort fanart but Marcy became a pretty easy character to draw by this point so I attempted a spooky vibe to try something new. Unfortunately they all just look traumatized, yet that kinda works for her character.

This is the point I started having a little problem, towards the end of October and beginning of November I screwed up.

I usually tried to draw every day if not every 2-4 days. Right before this I skipped over a week, for some reason tho that made me feel like my quality has begun slipping. Like if I don’t try to put lines to the page every day even if I’m just doing circles and not drawing anything productive I’m ginna lose all my progress and go back to square one. This Anya (from the game Mouthwash) is from my 4 inch doodle book I got to combat this problem.

While I’m not particularly proud of this one I will say if July Me saw this I think she’d be really proud and actually love it. So I chose to as well. Besides I adore that sweetheart Anya in any form she takes!

And last but never least: KEN TAKAKURA AKA OKARUN!!!

This is by far my favorite of my most recent drawings. Playing loosely with his shapes was pretty freeing, since I have a very stagnant idea of lines and forms, especially with hair, so getting to do Okarun was fun. His hair and collar felt very ‘scribbly’ to me which was actually fun because I wasn’t so focused on exact shapes how I usually am.

It’s not perfect (like those lopsided ears) and it’s not a direct mimick like Fizzarolli but I still really really like it.

If you go back and compare this one to even my first three I feel like I’ve gotten so much better in the last 6 months. It only makes me wanna keep trying!

Also keep drawing, draw every day you can. Or pick up the pencil right now and start, idc if you think it’s “bad” idc if you make 100 “bad drawings”. Art is first and foremost about having fun, feeling good while creating. Not just to get good at it, which ,not gonna lie, was my focus in the beginning. But what’s actually FEELS good in the moment is to finish up a picture and be like “WHOA I MADE that! It didn’t exist before, I made it exist!” Everyone deserves that feeling.

So pick up the pencil and get to it!

Well, starting with Irina and Kishin:

To sum up: Irina likes to decorate things that are important to her by putting lots of stickers on it. Kishin also likes to decorate things with different colored pens and some stickers on his notebooks and art supplies (which is exactly what I, le croissant, do. Especially the cover of my notebooks/sketchbooks and pencil cases. These are the only things I decorate, the rest of the stickers I keep and leave as a small collection, without knowing where to put them. xD).

As for Alex (or Akio :3), he probably likes to collect stickers, he just keeps them and likes to look at them. Kenta has already ridiculed him for this and stole all of Alex's stickers, but relax, Irina solved that problem xD

And now Satoshi and Sebastian

Sebastian would certainly make a mess of all this and Satoshi doesn't have much patience to decorate his things, so these two start a war between them, sticking the stickers and drawing on each other's faces lol

if u ARE referring to her art though im pretty sure she uses the SU-cream pencil for her lines and colors in her stuff with a regular G-pen or something similar, making for a much cleaner and refined look! her canvases are also like. Massive. at least to me. which gives more room for defined details! though take this with a grain of salt as this is only an observation and not definitive

her and i have rather different styles, especially when it comes to rendering. hers is alot more clean and prim whereas mine is more painterly and messy. if it is her art u are referring to u can shoot her an ask urself! her tumblr username is cutie-lumi and, while she answers asks once every full moon, im sure she'd be delighted to help u!

Pretty as a Picture

Okay so this is the first fanficton I’ve written in a quite while, don’t expect this to be a normal occurrence lol. I’m only writing this because it’s an idea that I had that needed to be written into existence 😭 (also side note this turned out to be longer than I anticipated 💀) so enjoy!

This wasn’t the first time you’d been assigned with Abby for a patrol; yet every time you were assigned with Abby you got nervous jitters, butterflies in your stomach, heart aching, and mind racing about being around her.

You couldn’t help it, she was single-handedly the most attractive woman you’d ever met. Her strong, secure, and powerful persona made your knees and heart weak. Along with her well-built muscular figure, cute freckles that adorned her face and toned arms, and the rare times when she did smile made you melt.

So when you found out you were assigned on a patrol with her in the morning? You couldn’t help but be giddy with excitement.

You stripped out of your clothes until you were in your tank top and underwear, leaving the rest of your clothes neatly laid out on a chair next to your bed for in the morning. You lit a candle on your nightstand for light, shifting to your black-leathery worn cross-body bag you took everywhere with you, searching for your sketchbook and pencil. You smiled to yourself as you found them, closing the bag and placing it at the foot of your bed. You wanted to see if you were able to draw Abby without her as a reference.

I probably should be going to bed though..is it creepy to draw someone you barely talk to without their knowledge?..

You shook the thought, opening your sketchbook and gliding the pencil on the paper as you recalled memories of being around Abby. Her strong and beautiful features, freckles that danced around her pale skin, cute lips and nose, and powerful blue eyes that bore right into your soul.

A half hour of sketching later, you were still unhappy with the results. It just doesn’t look right you thought. You pursed your lips in frustration as you shoved your sketchbook and pencil back into your bag, hoping that tomorrow there would be a window of opportunity to draw Abby when you were with her, when she wouldn’t notice.

The last thing you needed was to embarrass yourself in front of Abby. What if she saw it and thought you were a total creep? Drawing her without her knowledge or permission? You couldn’t have that.

You tried your best to shut down all negative thoughts as you blew out the candle you lit, drops of white wax now littered around the candle holder. You plopped your head against the pillow, closing your eyes, waiting for sleep to take you.

You woke up the next morning as your alarm blared. You were lucky enough to have one, this one you found on a patrol a few months ago. The clock read 4:30 AM as you shut off the loud noise, quickly getting out of bed and getting dressed. Normally you would have been tired, especially considering you had only gotten 3 hours of sleep but all you could think about was Abby, aching to be around her. You dreaded being late, as you didn’t want Abby to think of you as an unreliable slacker. No, you wanted Abby to see you as you saw her.

You brushed your hair and made yourself look presentable, making sure you didn’t smell and that you were decently clean. You grabbed your cross-body bag and put on your boots, heading out to the spot you said you’d both meet.

You were supposed to just look around the area for supplies and infected, nothing really special. Soon enough you saw Abby standing tall by the spot you said you’d both meet.

The sun wouldn’t rise for another half hour so it was still slightly dark out, but luckily you had your flashlight with you.

“Ready to go?” Abby’s powerful voice rang through your ears, already making you feel weak with want for her. You nodded your head, smiling slightly up at her as she nodded. You both started walking, not saying much of anything, just enjoying hearing the trees rustle in the wind, birds chirping around you along with crickets and cicadas.

Abby walked slightly ahead but still beside you, making it easier to look at her without her knowing. You couldn’t help but stare, but little to your knowledge she knew your eyes were on her. She smirked a little and narrowed her eyes back to you, making your face engulf in a pink blush.

You look away quickly, pretending there was something oh so interesting up above you, trying to look anywhere but at her. She chuckled to herself, making you blush even harder. “W-what’s so funny?” You mentally punched yourself for saying that aloud, but your mouth spoke before you could even think about what you were saying.

“Hmm..it’s nothing, don’t worry about it.”

About an hour passed but with little luck. You both found a small abandoned convenience store that had a bottle of rubbing alcohol, some large bandaids but most importantly some bottled water, but that was it. You both stopped by a cliff side that had 2 decaying logs laying across from each other as seats, both talking one of the bottles of water and sitting separately.

As Abby stared out into the cliff side, you took notice how the warm morning sun lighting up her features made her look so breathtakingly beautiful. You took out your sketchbook and pencil, flipping to a blank page and started sketching. It’s now or never you thought.

Abby hadn’t said much, aware of the fact that you were drawing something but didn’t ask you about it, just letting you do your own thing. But it wasn’t until she noticed your glances up at her every so often that made her intrigued in what you were drawing.

You both sat silently for about 15 minutes, Abby making use of the time by cleaning her weapons, pretending not to notice your eyes scanning her features every once in a while. But while you were engaged in sketching, she silently got up and crept behind you, making sure to be dead silent with each step. As she got behind you and leaned towards your figure, you almost had a heart attack hearing her voice behind you.

“Whatcha drawin’?”

She had a smug smirk plastered on her face, face inches from yours as you nearly jumped out of your seat. You quickly looked at her, arms clutching your sketchbook to your chest and face red with embarrassment as your mouth hung open in shock. You tried to say something but you couldn’t, so you averted your eyes and shyly handed your sketchbook to Abby. She took it from you and her eyes immediately widened as her face grew red and mind raced.

How the fuck did she draw this so quickly? I look like a fucking goddess!! And she captured my facial features and muscles so good??

It was confident to say that you left Abby Anderson speechless that day. But while her mind was racing with thoughts of holy fucking shit this is amazing, you thought her mind was raving about how much of a creep you were. You grew more and more nervous with each passing second, starting to regret drawing her until Abby finally spoke up.

“I..I don’t know what to say..” She chuckled and had a slight smile on her face, still engaged in your talent.

“Do..do you think I’m creepy? I’m sorry I drew you without permission, it’s just that-“ She cut you off.

“What?? Are you kidding me? I absolutely love this. You’re artwork is insane, you captured me perfectly.”

You jolted your head up at her words, looking into her eyes for any sort of doubt, but you found none. She was being genuine, and her smile made your heart melt along with her complements. “You really think so?” You also smiled up at her.

She nodded and sat down on the log next to you, looking back at the sketch. “What compelled you to draw me anyway?” Abby asked you, looking at you with a soft smile.

“I..um…I..uh…“ You couldn’t say it. You couldn’t spit out the reason you drew her! You couldn’t just casually say you drew her because she was the hottest woman on Earth even though it was true and what you were thinking. You blushed and looked away, trying to come up with a believable fib but before you could, Abby spoke up.

“Ohhh, I see..you have a crush on me, don’t you?” She smirked at you, inching closer to your face, looking at you up and down with half lidded eyes.

You weren’t expecting Abby to be so forward. You couldn’t even look her in the eyes, just mindlessly looking at the floor and toying with the strands of your hair nervously. That was until she lightly grabbed your chin and made you meet her gaze. You looked at her with wide eyes, lips parted and cheeks pink with embarrassment.

“I asked you a question, pretty girl..you gonna answer it?”

Your face was pink before, but now tomato red at what Abby had called you. Your heart felt like it was going to thump out of your chest but you managed to stutter out a sentence that was barely over a whisper.

“I-um..I do..have a..crush on you, Abby.” You could barely keep your voice steady as you said it, eyes still looking into hers. She just smirked at you and looked you up and down, letting go of your chin but inching her face closer.

“Hmm..that’s what I thought when I kept noticing your eyes on me. You’re not very sneaky about it y’know.”

She was so close to you. All your senses were flooded with the smell of her pine soap you loved so much.

“Um, sorry about that..I couldn’t help it.”

“You couldn’t help but stare at me? That’s cute. Why? What’s so interesting about me?”

She was so straightforward it was driving you crazy. Did she really expect you to answer a question like that??

Yes, she did.

“I..well..that’s a hard question to answer. There’s a lot of things about you I like..but, if I have to be honest, I’ve never met someone as captivating as you.”

You couldn’t believe you said it. You looked away in embarrassment, toying with your hands, face flushed as your heart felt like it was going to explode for the millionth time.

Of course, Bela supplies you with plenty of soup and tea, as well, only the kind(s) you like, or can stand

She insists, tea is good for humans

While normally making the staff prepare meals, Bela takes this on herself

She’s naturally protective of you, yes

But when you’re sick?

She is incredibly protective

She dislikes leaving your side, but even more so- she doesn’t allow others to prepare your food

While it’s unluckily someone dares poison you, downright stupid, she does not care for this

She wants to ensure your safety

She needs to

And such, she takes upmost precision in her task

Studying instructions and even tugging a few maids to the side to prepare the tea right in front of her, under her watchful eye

Once done and satisfied, she brings you the pot and cups up to her room

Even if you have your own room, she insists you stay with her while you’re sick, and on the mend

Wrapped under your favourite blankets, she giggles when you poke your head out to watch her enter the room

The room is dimly lit, no bright lights or so

It’s comfortably warm, even more so under your blankets

Books and papers, pencils, stuffed animals and toys are littered on the bed in hopes of keeping you company and entertained when she must work- you know, she is never too far

She coos as she rests her hand on your forehead and feels its warmth. You’re burning up, she thinks

Truthfully, you always feel warm to her, but now especially so. She figures a fever is a relatively safe bet

Eagerly, you press into her touch

Her skin is cool, soothingly so. It feels amazing in contrast to your warm skin

Bela smiles sadly at this. If only she could open the window a little bit for you…

Still, both of you know the windows can’t be opened while she prevails in the room

She can’t help but giggle again, though, when you shake suddenly

She doesn’t mean to, really

She wishes she could help you, too. It just looked too cute and funny

However, the sound makes you laugh a little as well, despite the ache in your throat

Immediately, the action draws a wince from you, and Bela sits down on the bed to you

She wonders- how can she help you?

You whine again, unsure how to communicate what you want. You aren’t even all that sure what you need yourself

Upon noticing the warmth that radiates from you, she lightly tugs on one of the many blankets covering you

Immediately, you protest

“But aren’t you by far too warm, little one?”, she can’t help but wonder

Bela never has qualms about being too warm, but you? You don’t quite share her biology, after all

She would’ve thought the warmth- this much of it- must be uncomfortable

She feels you sweat, and immediately frowns in concern- she knows, you’ll likely want a bath, yet feels you aren’t quite strong enough for one just yet

You can’t help but wince again- it’s as though everything is too much

Your pyjama, clinging onto you due to the sweat. It feels like a second skin that traps you in place

The blankets, though soft and warm, are simply too warm

Yet, the second you move them or even stick a leg out, you’re shivering

Your throat, burning, aching, hurting so bad

Bela notices your hand flap for a moment, betraying your discomfort as tears begin to roll down your eyes

Immediately, she swarms under the blanket with you to pull you close

At this, surprisingly though, you already calm down

Bela yelps in surprise when you pull her flush against you, your arms wrapping around her entirely and your head resting on her breasts

She’s so cool, her skin so perfectly cold

Just right

Not too cold to make you shiver,

Just cold enough to harmonise with the warmth of the blankets

You sigh, finally feeling a little bit more content

She seems to understand though, and just smiles down at you

Gladly, she becomes your teddy bear if it makes you feel better

With one of her hands at the back of your neck and head, she gently runs her fingertips along your skin to soothe

With the other, she reaches for the tea to hand it to you

If only she had something for your throat!

She will talk with the duke soon regarding this, bring you cough drops and syrup, even if she cringes at the smell

All for her human. You’re her everything

Cassandra

Cassandra is immediately with you when she hears your fast, distressed heartbeat

You shriek when she appears in front of you, sickle raised and eyes darting around the room to scan it for a threat. When her eyes land on you, she immediately sees what’s wrong- you’re sick

She sinks to her knees when she finds you sit on the ground, her hands hovering above yours. With a nod of your head, she pulls you against her

She giggles when you worry about how sweaty you are, and about infecting her. Nonsense! She loves your scent, and she isn’t fussed about catching some of the bacteria

Her touch feels- amazing

Everything was too much. Your sore throat that tickles when you swallow. Your ears, your hands, the warmth you feel, the cold, all of it too much

It’s as though you feel everything- your skin, your bones, your clothing, the floor under you

Cassandra’s touch is grounding. She helps you focus on her, and only her

She’s strong and hard, but her skin is soft. It’s cool, and soothes your skin when you think it’s about to burn off you from the heat you feel

She hums for a moment, and you relax fully. She’s perfect for you

She smells strongly of blood, which has you sniffle. This makes her giggle a little- you’re so cute to her

Her precious little human. Her little lamb

It pains her to see you sick. Is there something she can do? Yes, but one thing after the other

Cuddling until you have enough or are no longer in need of it, she unwraps her arms from you

The first thing she offers is a bath

She knows, both of you are in need of one, and she doesn’t want to overwhelm you with the scents, even if you can’t smell them as intensely as her

Gently, she eases you off the floor and into the bathroom

She isn’t all that sure how to function the tub, really, and is thankful when you croak out some instructions

Still, at last she manages, and eases you into the tub

You wince at the light, and she immediately goes to turn it off. It’s quite nice, really, and her eyes nearly glow a little in the dim light

She is careful, yet loving, touching only when you allow her to with a nod of your head. She doesn’t want to end up overwhelming you more when she’s finally getting closer to calming you, after all

Cassandra hums lowly, her fingertips playing with the water surface as you get used to the warm water around you

Once set, she gently helps you rinse yourself off

She promises, she will get a bath after. She doesn’t want to turn your water red and dark from the filth and blood that clings to parts of her

And she sticks to her promise. As you finish up in the bath, she gently guides you to the bed

Placing your favourite blanket on the sheets and below you, she covers you with two more. Just to be sure

If it didn’t hurt your throat this much, surely you’d giggle at her coddling

Who would have thought- sadistic, “evil” Cassandra Dimitrescu, tucking you in and blushing a little when you shoot her a thankful smile

She’s always been good at knowing what you’re trying to tell her without the use of words

Abandoning her sickle for you to- play with?- she runs off to find you some medicine

You smile at this. While you don’t share her interest in weapons, it’s sweet of her to leave hers for you. You know she likes it a great deal

As she returns, she easily carries medicine and cough drops, stuffed animals scattered around the room, and even a platter containing snacks she’s found in the kitchens

You eat as she washes up, and smile when she returns and smells of the soap you picked out, as well as the subtle aroma of the woods she seems to always carry with her

It’s rare for her not to smell of blood, and you know it won’t last long. Still, you want nothing but to cuddle her now

To feel her cold skin against yours, by far too warm in comparison, to feel grounded by her arms around you

When she finds you squirming under the warm blankets already and looking up at her with big eyes, she already knows your silent question

Groaning and scoffing playfully, she gets in bed and allows you to cuddle her

You smile to yourself when she plays with her sickle and the sheets, as though to let you know;

She won’t leave. She wants you to rest, but she will still be there by the time you awaken

Daniela

She’s immediately by your side when you tell her you’re sick, and she won’t want to leave

Daniela doesn’t understand how you got sick, or even what sickness you have

She doesn’t understand humans all that much, at least as it comes to these things

But really? She doesn’t need to, either. She cares about you, for you, and that’s all that matters

You feel uncomfortable, overwhelmed. That’s all that is important to your lover

Putting you in her bed and covering you with the kind of blankets you like, she can’t help but press a small kiss to your nose

“It’ll be okay, my love. I’m here, my sweet”, she reassures

She asks, gently, if you can tell her what’s bothering you or how to help you

Daniela’s go to are cuddles

She doesn’t know many other means to help you

She dims the bright light of the room when it gets too much, and cuddles closer to you, insisting you must get some rest

Still, the ache in your throat hurts and your head throbs

As such, rest is nearly impossible to get, as you let the snoring woman know

Upon being woken up, Daniela tiredly offers to get you some blood. She insists, only the best for her little hu-

Oh, yes

You’re human

Humans don’t like blood, she recollects!

Giggling at this, she promises to bring you whatever you ask of her. She doesn’t want you to get out of bed, but will bring you all your heart desires

She brings you all kinds of things, unsure what a human wants or needs

Water, tea, soup, chicken, salad, bread, vegetables, candy, syrup, medicine for all kinds of things, juice, even some cookies she stole from her sister’s room

She offers you to change, or stay undressed entirely

It helps her, sometimes, to feel skin to skin contact without clothing

She also knows, sometimes you just dislike the fabric of your clothing

Daniela is perfect to snuggle, and she is convinced: cuddling can solve all

And lucky for you, Daniela happens to be the best snuggler around

With her arms around you and her chest pressing against your back, she talks quietly about her day as you eat

Her touch is grounding, and comforting

Her cool skin allows you to absorb the heat of the blankets without getting too warm

Occasionally, she steals some of the food she’s brought you, bearing only a small, innocent grin when you turn your head to look at her with a knowing smile

While blood is her favourite, the candy she’s brought is just too tempting!

“I didn’t do anything…!”, she insists, giggling, even as her breath smells sweet of the candy she just plopped in her mouth

She surrounds the two of you with many stuffed animals and reads to you in a gentle voice

Any of her stuffed animals are yours too, to hold and snuggle. They’re soft, and it makes you smile

She too believes sleep is the best medicine. It’s what’s been taught to her, after all

As such, she grants you a lot of rest, nearly all day

She encouraged you to sleep a lot, and eagerly dozes off as well when she is sure you’re asleep

And, of course, she is always still there when you awaken, often snoring lightly or snuggled up against you or a stuffed animal

Blankets cover both of you, her cool thigh against yours relaxing you when it gets too warm under the blanket

Surprisingly, the medicine she’s brought actually helps quite a bit, so that your throat aches less and you don’t feel the irritation with every breath

Your head feels clearer, and your skin less tingly. It feels nice again

I really love your art and your artstyle!!! I'm trying to learn to draw and I'm struggling to find a way to draw faces and especially eyes that I like, could you maybe share some tips on how you draw faces because omg I am so in awe of how cool your art looks! :D

Honestly, the best advice I can give is to study tf out of art styles you like, bc that's exactly what I did with TGS. The amount of pages I just stared at and tried to lowkey memorize is ungodly, and once I started drawing the characters and trying to emulate sage's style, I kinda just kept getting better from there. My ability to draw poses and full body stuff also got exponentially better VERY quickly, TGS is just magic like that, I swear.

Also, for eyes specifically, referencing each characters eyes and testing different expressions is kinda the way to go. I use my physical copy of Vol 1 a LOT for referencing (especially for Hyde and Lanyon)

Also, just drawing headshots of the characters over and over helps too, especially in pen! I have literal DOZENS of random 5- 10 minute pen doodles. The nice thing about the pen stuff is that, yeah, youll mess up a lot and not be super satisfied with most of them, but it forces you to be a bit more careful about how you place things and steadier with you hand, at least in my experience.

See? Most of them really suck, but they made me pay a lot more attention to what I was doing and what I wanted to do. It also helped me grasp quirks of the characters and drawing expressions a lot better. Plus, this isn't even all of them, I've got a bunch more in a little envelope I made.

Also, looking on Pinterest for pose references probably would also help, or taking pics of yourself for reference, but I'm built different (stubborn and lazy) so I rawdog my anatomy and poses 🗣️🗣️

Otherwise, I can also give a little doodle example with Whole Jekyll on how I currently draw in pencil and such :3

Start with circle, then give it a nice center line and chin

Then I throw in the neck and shoulders (which tend to change a decent bit bc anatomy is hard), the eye line, which goes through the middle of the circle, and then I like to do a line down the chest to figure out which way I want him pointing, since he's at a tilt. I also change this quite often, along with where I want the face pointing lmao. Once I've figured out direction, I draw the nose starting at the bottom of the circle and up to the eye line. I also then draw the top of the eyes first. The eye line (and apparently the center line 💀) is of course a suggestion, and I tend to mess around with the eye shape until it looks mostly right.

Then the bottoms of the eyes and the pupils get thrown in, which I have to redraw pretty often to try and make them match better. I also usually leave the eyes blank bc I'm lazy af and can't draw pupils too well, I will shade them tho and that makes them look better.

Then bbg gets ears (which I usually start around the corners of the eyes and go down to just above the little curve of the jaw), eyebrows (also just mess around with these til they look right) and a mouth (I HATE drawing mouths 😋😋), then they get their hair (also have to redraw a bunch)

Also, to show Whole Jekylls other eye, I pinned his hair back, so there's a treat, Whole Jekyll enjoyers <3 bbg can fully see 😍 (Mind Lanyon probably forced him too)

Then I shade his eyes, give him clothes and fix up any quick things that were bothering me (in this his nose) and go back with the edge of a rectangle eraser and get those guidelines and extra lines out (sometimes they're still a little visible, but maybe just don't draw them as heavy handed as I do 💀) and Bada Bing Bada boom! Doodle done :3 of course its not the best, but it doesn't have to be, thats the joy of doodles

Otherwise like, my progress shots for drawings look goofy af lmao, like--

Messy af, incorrect proportions, wrong anatomy, eugh. just takes time (and a lot of redrawing) to get to the final pieces.

But yeah!!! Eyes are annoying, it just takes a lot of tweaking and repetition.

Like, I redrew some of these eyes a decent few times and some of them are still off, like cmon Lanyon, why you gotta be so hard for me to draw 💔

Anyways!!! Thats probably the best I can offer right this second lmao, sometimes I kinda wish I could record drawing and stuff but I don't do stuff purely digital often enough to. yea I don't mind, I'm honestly very flattered!

1: Yes, NSFW is way harder for me because I am so new to it! I have to look for more references and spend longer sketching than usual. The process is usually easier because,, it's just naked bodies rather than having to deal with clothing/fabric. I don't do anything too arduous for the stuff I'm posting here

2: I will show u!

I start with a v rough sketch. If I'm feeling lazy, it could look even simpler than this, but usually I would refine it to this level

I put in color flats and shadow flats, and put the shadows on multiply and lower opacity

And then I just paint on top! I prefer making corrections and adding details in this stage, it's the most fun part. I add further corrections and add other things like eye shines and Neteyam's stripes and then it's done 👍👍👍

3. I've not drawn for long, I've just graduated art school earlier this year! Now I'm recuperating at home for a bit as I deal with my post-grad depression 👍👍👍 I prefer digital but for works that need more preparation/ideation, I start with pencil.

I was doing an el filibusterismo assignment when i randomly got my ass to draw Maria Sirena and Benedict Inkwell💀 (yes, thats their spanish colonial era names XD)

Maybe drop in a some lore,

Maria Sirena De La Mar y Noche

-a beautiful yet cautious and fierce Filipina woman, she doesnt trust any of the Spaniards nor any other nationalities who come to Las Filipinas. She is also known as Maria Sirena. She has a beautiful singing voice and some colorful talents. She often spend late nights to do art. Her family has been in good contact with the town's Kura Paroko (parish priest), though, she dislikes him especially whenever she catches him staring at her. One day, a group of American friends spot her on a warm afternoon and they try to befriend her. Especially that man with a blue three-piece suit, a red bow tie and a fedora hat... (Also, if you know the story of either Maria Clara or Juli in El Fili, yk whats gonna happen to Maria Sirena, except she has a good ending compared to the aforementioned two characters)

Benedict Inkwell

-a famous artist in America who draws portraits of people in black paint and a white canvas. He also does inky portraits and pencil portraits. He didnt plan to go to Las Filipinas but his friends, Boris Connor, and his wife--which is also a friend-- Alice Connor (nee Angel) convinced him. They also tagged along the twin brothers Carlos and Manuel Blanco, and Manuel's girlfriend, Cala Maria Lithos. Benedict is often teased by his friends by calling him his famous nickname "Bendy" because he gets a lot of troubles as a child

Other characters

Boris Connor - Benedict's childhood friend and best friend. He is a married wolf. He is a Jack of all trades, meaning he can do any work and any occupation (Like Bert frlm Mary Poppins) and is also a Magician. He likes playing the Clarinet. American.

Alice Connor nee Angel - Boris' beautiful singing wife. Also a childhood friend of Benedict. She can play the piano and cooks very well. She is very friendly and open minded. American.

Carlos Jose Diego Blanco y Fernandez - the older twin brother. He likes collecting old stuff, especially vintage plates and cups. He is very good at wielding guns. Spanish. He is part of the Guardia Civil, to serve and protect the people--like his (retired) grandfather.

Manuel Alejandro Francisco Blanco y Fernandez - The younger twin brother. Also has a hobby of collecting vintage dishes like his brother. Spanish. He has a girlfriend. Good at wielding guns too, especially the sniper rifles. He is part of the Guardia Civil, to serve and protect the people--like his (retired) grandfather.

Cala Maria Lithos - A famous singer and Maxwell's girlfriend. Greek. She has strong eyes (idk how to put mataray into english lol) which sometimes makes people assume she is a bossy and rude person. But after her fame and people got to know her, her eyes became a part of her charm.

Also note: all of the characters' powers here; bendy's ink manipulation, siren's mermaid tail and soul manipulation abilities, cuphead and mugman's fingerguns, cala's gorgon stare, are all REMOVED. Nobody has powers here, only guns, gunpowder, fire, knives and voices.

I haven’t tried most of what they suggested but I HAVE tried the CamScanner app :D you can use it for free and it’s pretty easy/ helpful! It’s meant for scanning documents tehe

I don’t use it a whole lot, especially with drawings that have a lot of color, but it’s helpful when i have horrid lighting, or use it for sketches!!!

also, don’t be afraid to toggle your photo settings if you can’t get good lighting~ >:0

i most frequently adjust brightness and black point- especially for when your camera isn’t picking up on pencil lines and such, it’s a helpful way to make your photos represent irl better.

ANYWAYS YEAH I’m real inconsistent and unconventional about it 🫠let yourself experiment, check out their suggestions and try some, they get their photos looking SO CLEAN >:)
