ANYWAY. it turns out that even though attendants are a built-in part of the noble sweetheart playbook (cookie's title) and you're SUPPOSED to be using them... for me in practice, when i'm actually playing the game, i just keep totally forgetting lmfao!!!! :') rping with my other party members and chasing quests and stuff is so engaging that my brain is totally booked with just being cookie, let alone two additional npcs, so sadly dandy and velvet have not gotten a ton of screentime in the current campaign

BUT that really just makes me eager to one day play them properly in a different campaign, whether that's them each taking their turn as player characters like was originally intended, or when i'm GMing a campaign of my own (i'm trying to write up something for my friends, but i have no idea when it's actually gonna happen bc i'm so busy rip... but when i do, cookie and her attendants will def be npcs)

i honestly don't have MUCH i can say abt them, bc since i haven't played them much i also havent developed them much... i suppose i can give summaries tho!

in terms of vibes velvet is very much like, "guy who is brooding so hard that it stops being mysterious or having any gravity at all and is mostly just making people wonder if she's like? okay?????" like there is only so long you can spend with your back to the rest of the group clenching your fist and muttering to yourself before people just start kind of glossing over it and being like "oh haha that's CLASSIC sir velvet the unsmiling!!!"... mix this with a heady dose of "[nasal voice] UM, you forgot to collect the homework" and somehow you have created a creature ideal for wrangling cookie's effusive elaborate scatterbrained whims, somehow, most of the time. velvet is really similar to a different Brooding Goth Knight character i have wherein my formula is "make a character who looks extremely fucking sicknasty badass, then never ever ever stop making fun of them ever"

dandy is cookie's quartermaster, and so unlike velvet (who's usually assumed to be traveling around with cookie, even if i am constantly forgetting to roleplay that it's doing that) he mostly chills at chateau gorgeous looking after his liege's affairs and making sure the ppl who live there are fed + sheltered + generally taken care of. they are pretty much velvet's exact opposite in terms of temperament; EVERYTHING gets velvet's hackles up, NOTHING phases dandy. i need to be careful bc i am starting to arbitrarily ship them just from typing this. anyway, dandy is largely non-verbal; they're able to speak if really necessary, but they would just rather not, and if there's really no way around it they'd rather just sidle over to cookie and whisper it to her, and then let her communicate whatever they want to say to the rest of the group on their behalf; if cookie's not around, you're just gonna have to figure out how to communicate w him otherwise. which always works out fine bc dandy is very patient and used to getting along in silence!

I don’t usually get into the whole fan cast stuff as if probably suck at it tbh but when it comes to Jason I’ve seen Jensen Ackles come up along with Matthew Daddario, both of whom I love but just don’t see as Jason Todd in the slightest.

Like yes Jensen did voice Jason in under the red hood but I don’t think that’s a plausible excuse to have him play as the live action version. I love him but no.

The guy they had as Jason in titans brought a lot of emotion to the character as Jason practically wears his heart on his sleeve, but he just didn’t fit, I love him but he didn’t work.

May I ask what your top tips for appearing more masc are prior to hrt? No matter how basic, I want to hear them (im desperate) (esp voice-wise)

Well anon, as with all things, your mileage will vary. Are you looking to be fully stealth/cis passing? Do you want to simply feel more masculine? Think about what you really and truly want, not what your friends or society or anything else may tell you, but what YOU specifically would enjoy doing. There is no one way to be masculine, and what works for me may not work for someone else.

With all of that out of the way though, here are a few things that helped me specifically. I'm stealth in real life, and I prefer to be... more or less conventionally masculine. My partner put it aptly: "you look like a boring office worker."

Take fashion advice from cis men/cis oriented groups. No offense to my fellow trans masc/trans men, but taking fashion advice from them is often a case of the blind leading the blind, at least if your goal is to be cis passing. You can dress well and look presentable (I certainly do), but don't put male fashion on a pedestal, because even the best dressed cis men don't--this is just what they're familiar with and they're going about their day the same way you are.

Clothes can get you a good portion of the way there, because I was functionally stealth even prior to starting testosterone (though I will confess a large amount of genetic luck), but if you dress and act with confidence, most people won't put much more thought to you than what is immediately apparent.

Your hair will also massively help you: men tend to favor fairly plain and boring cuts. A traditional cut will help you look more masculine than anything that requires a blow dryer and copious amounts of gel. I'm a boring (and lazy) person, so this suits me just fine, but I know this can get dull really quick to a lot of people, but that's just the way it is. That said, always, ALWAYS get your sideburns and nape squared off rather than tapered, I swear it's like the only irl cheat code for masculinity. The little details are usually what count the most.

On voice, you're in luck. Far too much emphasis is put on having a deep baritone that would put James Earl Jones to shame. You don't need a deep voice to sound like a man, but you do need to consciously keep your speech patterns and the way you speak in mind. Pay attention to the cis men around you, not what you see in media--most of them really don't have voices that are particularly deep. But you'll notice that they don't pitch their voices and inflect the way that women are typically taught to. This has nothing to do with genes, these are purely social skills, and while it's a pain, they can very much be learned by anybody who works at it. Cis men tend to speak much more flatly and bluntly, and use fewer words to get their meaning across (which is a good skill to have no matter your gender, in my opinion). When I put on my Woman Voice™, it's not so much that I speak in a higher pitch (though I do), but that I draw out my words and speak a little more theatrically. A simple "hey, how are you doing?" becomes "Hiiii, it's SO good to see you again, how have you been!"

That's a pretty stark difference! And again, this is just what works for me. I have not cut out any parts of my personality or toned down who I am, not least of all because I'm a pretty flat and monotone person to begin with, but I do restrain certain aspects of how I present myself, particularly with people I'm not close to.

I'm sorry that this is a long winded way to say "dress appropriately, get a decent haircut, and flatten down the way you speak", but I do try to be cognizant of the fact that you can feel and present masculinely in more ways than there are grains of sand on earth. All of the above are things that help me feel better and more comfortable in my own skin, and are not necessarily what I would prescribe other people to do to feel right in theirs. Only you can know what works best for you, which is why I prefaced this with advising you to think long and hard about what would make you happy and comfortable.

That said, if any of the above appeals to you, do a little research. I enjoy browsing Reddit's Male Fashion Advice sub, not least of all because you see an enormous range of fashion that goes beyond t shirts and jeans. Look for men that have face shapes similar to yours to see what kind of haircuts flatter them, and study the way that the men in your life speak, gesticulate, and generally act. Study them like they are animals in a zoo and it's your life mission to document them, and you'll pick up a lot. I hope this helps!

TATMR Rewatch

Saw this post appear on my dash again and felt like rewatching the movie again. Thoughts while rewatching a twenty-four year old film about magic talking trains included below.

Starting off and- hey it's Diesel 10! You remember Diesel 10, right? What a "blast from the past," right? Right?

I miss the hammy, over-the-top New Jersey accent they gave Diesel in this movie. The slimy, manipulative voice they gave him later on is fine, but c'mon, the guy's got a giant claw coming out of his back. There's nothing subtle about him. Give us our big dumb tantruming baby back!

Interesting to see Gordon shake w/ fear after seeing Diesel, considering how much flak people gave the last couple seasons of the show over the engines 'gesturing' w/ their bodies (same w/ Thomas sneezing later on).

The two ends of the universe: Anytown, USA and a remote island off the coast of England (I know its implied that Sodor is part of a separate magical dimension in this movie, hush).

That said, filming in the rustic British countryside really doesn't scream America:

Also what's that line about Shining Time being separated from Sodor by "oceans of time"? Dym like time zones (crossing the Atlantic) or time travel? The show is canonically set in the 50s-70s, afterall.

It's a shame that they didn't use the original Shining Time theme for the introductory shot. Not sure if it'd fit, but it's still a shame. Include it during the credits at least.

Diesel 10 is going to dominate you... sorry.

I know they recut this movie after audience testing, but it is odd having the mystery of the lost engine w/ Burnett's backstory revealed to the audience right at the beginning of the movie, only for it to continue being treated as a mystery by the rest of the cast until the climax.

That said, they still did an admirable job w/ it, considering they cut out one of the main antagonists. There's a few repeated story beats (Burnett and Diesel giving Lady's backstory back to back) and lines that don't quite work (Burnett telling Diesel, the magic talking train, he'll fail bc he "doesn't believe in magic"), but nothing too distracting.

Jumping from that slow, melancholic scene w/ Burnett to Diesel w/ his fucking goofy theme playing is fantastic.

Mr. C Humming the OG theme tune is a really cute touch.

I can't get over Baldwin chewing the scenery in this movie, he's just constantly goofing off in front of the camera, picking up and talking to random props. I know all of it is prob in the script, it is a kid's film after all, but its just so silly that I love it.

I like the implication that Burnett was just a kid that Mr. C talked to and chose to entrust w/ Lady's secret, just like all the kids he'd (well, another Mr. Conductor), interact w/ on Shining Time.

Nvm the scene of Diesel busting through the shed wall still goes hard as hell, esp. when Mr. C's magic starts failing (same for all of Diesel's action scenes tbh).

Jesus, why did they put this scene into the movie?

Hearing Stacy say that and start sobbing is genuinely upsetting.

I didn't even notice the railway (sorry, railroad) got replaced w/ a road in this scene.

It's interesting to think about how in the workprint, an older Lily was the narrator, meanwhile Mr. C would still out here constantly breaking the fourth wall by talking straight to the audience.

Very interesting low self-esteem James moment b/w him and Mr. C. It's a shame that isn't explored more in the actual series. James is usually portrayed as vain, not insecure.

Mr. C, you're on a railway. Why are you hiking in the woods to get to a windmill?

Bertie saying "vroom vroom vroom" after every one of his lines is the best decision they ever made.

James: "Mr. C's not at the Windmill. I looked!" Point proven.

Even though they lean into the sick Henry angle, it's nice to see he still has that edge to his personality, at least for two out of three scenes.

There he is! P.T. Boomer! I remember reading SiF all the time going over all the scenes left in after they axed that entire plotline like that freeze-frame of Stacy w/ the picture of Burnett, Boomer, and Tasha.

Lady's ghost whistling still works as is, but just imagine hearing it thru out the film w/o that knowledge. Much more haunting.

They did Toby so much justice in this film. Consistently a wise voice of reason that gets his own spotlight moment vs Diesel.

I... I forgot this movie included a version of "Really Useful Engine" in the middle of it.

I know the film was criticized for how much focus it put on its all new human cast, but I actually really enjoy these scenes. Maybe bc they're part of the quintessential Magic Railroad experience.

That said, w/o the inclusion of Boomer, the human plot lacks tension or stakes for much of the runtime. The Sodor plot (thru the character of Mr. C) is doing all of the tension-building for the whole movie. As it stands, there's little reason for an audience to actually get invested in that part of the story as is outside of just liking the characters.

Man, this film's special effects have not aged well.

Oh yeah, Annie and Clarabel only get a single line in the entire movie. :/

Oh Alec finally gets to start acting serious towards the end of the film. It really helps the tension building.

Mr. C: "No he is not a dog. Let's just say he's a puppy in need of a good trainer," while Junior is kneeling in front of him w/ his tongue out panting. I get that it's meant to be a short little gag but wtf is this movie?

It's my favorite character! Tumbleweed!!!

The smelter's yard continues to be the best set in this entire series. With the lighting turning the steam red it looks genuinely hellish.

The viaduct collapse scene is so good! It feels so real and weighty. Props to the props department.

Yesterday I was watching Olivia Rodrigo's live lounge performances and I was blown away. Literally 😭 it was so beautiful I watched them again a while ago. I was moved by her delivery and amazed at her voice. After that, I watched Troye's. Then, I remembered Jungkook had done it too so I went and watched it.

Seven was so uncomfortable to watch. It was so awkward and forced that I closed it after a minute or so. He also had a backtrack btw. The Oasis song was better, but then again he's always sounded best at ballads and that kind of breathy singing that Koreans love to overuse.

My point is to say that he might be the best vocalist or most stable in BTS, but he doesn't hold a candle to other vocalists outside of kpop. He was literally out of breath for seven, even though he was sitting down. Olivia doesn't have half the career experience he has and she ate him up with ease. Literally. It was like she was in her living room singing just for fun, while Jungkook was mumbling some parts of the song because je couldn't keep up with the English and was so visibly nervous it was impossible for me to keep watching.

He's always been considered so good because he was measured as member of BTS, but there are people infinitely more talented than him. Of course it's all because of armys tunnel vision and their lack of interest in other singers. Do armys even know what Adele sounded like at 16 years old? So the whole thing about glorifying JK in the singing department has always been eehhhh to me because yeah, he's good. Season 1, episodes 1-6

I forgot how good the writing and animation are in the first season, like they truly thrived under aniplex😔 the brief white blood period in I think season 3 shows us just how good we had it

I love seeing Hawk and Meliodas's relationship, and his star Boar earring😭 plus having the Boar hat as the main location is just so comforting !!

Also I JUST realized his name is hawk because of a ham hok😭😭 this is like when I realized toe mater's name was tomato at the ripe age of 18

I miss the holy knights being powerful. Like I get that the Sins are always more powerful than them, had a long way to go in terms of power ups, and meliodas straight up had most of his power sealed but like DAMN. They were so cool in season 1 !! Gil was such a badass😭 I guess I just wish that the holy knights powered up along with the Sins

Seeing the very first episode got me thinking about the original pilot Manga (chapter 0) and how cool it might have been !! Like I love the story we got, but I do think those versions of Mel and Elizabeth maybe would have been better than the ones we got😳 like I just really like Meli's original design, I feel like he looks a bit older, and chapter 0 Elizabeth is simply superior ngl. She's funny, brave, and assertive - a lot more like Liz and goddess Elizabeth, except funnier

The first half of season 1 has one of my fave intro and outros like damn I forgot how fucking cool they were. Some of my fave songs to !! (my all time fave is def howling from season 3 part 2 (i think lol) tho)

Overall, I think the attention to detail is just better, the sounds the armor makes, the animation and drawings (esp background characters), Meliodas just sounds a bit older too (and I have theories on his voice here if u want them 👀)

The whole perv thing is really exhausting really quickly. Almost surprised 14 year old me made it through this as the 2nd anime I ever watched and the 1st I watched alone

I feel like Diane got shorter through the seasons. Like she doesn't compare to Hawk Mama like she did in season 1, and I think that's a damn shame. Let my giant girl be giant !!

Okay SO in episode 5, when Ban is about to get his scar from the dragon handle sword, he tells Meliodas "you and me have been hanging together for a lot of years now." This scene takes place 12 years before present (bp). Does this mean Ban and Meliodas were friends before the formation of the Sins? Or was Ban the first after him and Merlin? Ban has been immortal 20 years BP, leaving 8 years in between present and the flashback. 8 years before this scene, Meliodas was still in Danafal/Danfor and would be for another 4 years. What does any of this mean? Idk, just thot it was intriguing lol.

Also how did I not notice this is the first time we see demon!Meliodas !! Baby's first sighting as an unnatural creature with otherworldly rage🥰🥰

Also the fact we never see the scar Gil gave him again lol. Plus him presumably needing to do demon mode so hellfire can heal him is actually rlly cool

personally i've been scared of zombie movies all my life lol but because of tamn i've finally been trying to finish the world war z audiobook? (the last time i tried getting thru it was pre covid which has been. a weird experience) it's fully voice acted and i like it so far! super different from the 2013 movie with brad pitt

question 2) :3 do you guys think you'd be up to talk about the no-apocalypse au where scarian get to have a normal breakup someday? :3 it doesn't have to be now or anytime soon but i'd be into hearing about it!

These are some really REALLY good questions!!!

for starters! for me (Lock) I actually didn't start watching zombie media until Key introduced me to it! We watched the Korean series All Of Us Are Dead together, and then followed it with Last Of Us (the tv adaptation) and the first seasons of The Walking Dead, so I've have a very curated window into zombie media (actually! We watched Walking Dead as research for TAMN, because Key wanted to make sure I understood what hordes of zombies in cities look like!)

As for Key's zombie exposure (lol): I (Key) WAS BIG INTO ZOMBIES GROWING UP!! Constant zombie media consumption--probably one of my earliest hyperfixations ngl I feel like what we're drawing on while we write TAMN is an amalgamation of all our favourite bits from the things we've seen together, as well as some of my favourite formative zombie medias while growing up.

The Walking Dead Season 1 remains like, one of my all-time favourite seasons of any television show ever, so that's definitely a big influence. (Some of the later seasons get a lot less of my love LOL) The Korean movie Train to Busan is also a popular one you may have heard of--I'd definitely recommend giving that a go if you're okay with zombie media that veer on the side of tragic. When The Last of Us (Part One) came out, it quickly became my favourite zombie-oriented video game, though a lot of its predecessors (Resident Evil series esp.) really gripped me (even though it took me ages to play-through cuz they would scare the shit out of me LMAO) Its TV show is also an excellent adaptation, so if you're not into playing it or watching a Let's Play, the show is a good bet! The UK series In the Flesh was also an interesting look into After™ the apocalypse, and though it was cancelled after it's second season, it's also worth a watch for a fresh perspective on zombie media. 28 Days Later was an excellent movie and ofc Dawn of the Dead is a classic. And then the usual comedies like Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, etc.

I saw World War Z as a movie but never read the book! I should def give it a try--idk why I never did! God, honestly I could ramble about zombie media forever if given the chance 😂 None of this even begins to cover the sheer amount of zombie comics I read. I was very much a "webcomic" era kid, so a lot of my favourite old original zombie comics are either offline now or I simply don't remember what they were called anymore, so I have no way to track them down :( I did recently enjoy the webtoon Boyfriend of the Dead as a light-hearted, humourous read, but there were a lot of gripping, nuanced, plot-heavy original comics like a decade ago that I loved and I wish I could link. ANYWAYS. I'LL STOP MYSELF HERE AND LET LOCK ANSWER QUESTION NUMBER 2 LMAO

HI IT'S LOCK. I'M BACK. Now, as for a non-apocalypse Scarian scenario, we've actually thought about this a LOT! One of our favourite things to do is make an AU, and then multiple "what if one key things was different" spinoffs of the same AU.

We're gonna put this under a read-more, in case you'd like to keep the "what if" a mystery forever, but to sum up:

In an alternate reality where Scar and Grian break up and then the zombie apocalypse doesn't happen........ they stay broken up! Scar gets what he longs for in the fic: time away from Grian to hurt and grieve and heal with the support of his close friends who care about him.

It takes him a while until he feels ready to date again, but Scar does eventually start a new relationship with someone he knows really well, and has loved and trusted for a long time. They get engaged and start planning their wedding..............

............. and then Grian comes back and says he's sorry, that he misses Scar, that he was wrong, and that he doesn't want to be without him. And Scar................... takes him back.

It's-- listen, it's not the best possible outcome! But we're basing heavily on the Life Series Scarian dynamic, which is itself incredibly nuanced and complicated and tragic and a little bit "you're both bad for each other." It's part soulmates, and it's part codependence, and it's partly killing the person you love with your bare hands alone in the desert, and how that guilt ends up haunting you into every other subsequent timeline. Grian's not the best person for Scar as he is, and Scar's not the best person for Grian, but they want to be with each other, and unfortunately that desire often overrides common sense.

As for what happens after that.... we don't know yet! It was a thought experiment we worked through and ultimately realised "oh, it's WAY better for them that the zombies DID happen in the long run, 'cause without them this would be awful." (Not that the zombies are great, but woof......... Scarian, c'mon.) In this version of events, they lose a lot of friends when Scar takes Grian back, and the isolation suits Scar poorly. It takes them a much longer time to work through how to be good for one another. If the zombie apocalypse was good for anything, it was forcing a reckoning of what they wanted and how to get it--the only other option was death. Without that hanging over their heads, it takes Scarian years to reach any sort of resolution, which (no spoilers but) takes TAMN!Scarian a much shorter amount of time to get to.

MY OCS ATM. AND THE VERSIONS OF EVERYONE FOR MY STAR TREK AU. I put a lot of effort into them and making them feel real and understandable within their story!

Harland is super fun to write cause it's a chance to explore a world and characters I love while being respectful of the canon of the game, but seeing what aspects I can go further into with Harland. And all the snippets of Abe and Orc I've started writing is just AUGHHH THEY'RE COMING ALIVE!!!!

22. Who is/are your favourite pairing(s) to write?

Magland... Abe and Orc...... There's some I want to write, like Leon x Ada or Hylink (again.... Sigh....) that I think I'll have fun with. I just like writing pairings that have interesting dynamics or bounce off each other in silly ways

Ahhh man. It's hard to say cause I feel like I haven't read anything consistently enough lately to say for sure. I can say when I was younger I really loved CS Lewis and as a teen I really enjoyed what little I'd read by Niel Shusterman, and maybe throw in Adachitoka for good measure

SCI-FI / THRILLER ALL THE WAYYYYY BABBBEEEYYY

I like other stuff like fantasy and drama and whatever too ofc but like. NOTHING QUITE SCRATCHES THE ITCH LIKE THESE TWO, ESP IF THEY'RE A PAIR.

Sci-fi is soooo broad and fun, it's interesting when it's low concept or high concept and I like that it's so easy to inject philosophical dilemmas into the bones of the story and leave you thinking, and I like how interesting it is when you can draw parallels to current life (it's especially interesting seeing retro future sorta stories, both the fun aesthetics of 90s shit but also just seeing what people thought the scientific advances could be the further back you go, and seeing things that used to be sci-fi become just sci)

AND THRILLERRRRS.... I find them more interesting and scary than horror, though I've often been mistaken for a horror head even tho I feel like I don't watch horror that much... (Unless it's overlapped with thriller I guess lol) Idk I just find that the kind of stories you can tell when you drag out the tension and let the scares settle in to the atmosphere instead of demanding attention front and centre affect me more. I like when there's some kind of conspiracy or danger to work around and it gets more horrific with worse implications the further you claw into it. I want the fear to linger in my mind instead of only speaking to my body (think like how a jump scare isn't really scary other than startling you, vs something that actually unnerves you and gets worse the more you think about it)

I guess all that to say. I like thinking about things and want the story to haunt me with everything it's got. I want to still be thinking about it years later cause there was something in there that lingered....

"A friend to both sides of the war." He swatted Harlands hair from his shoulder, watching it fall as he avoided eye contact. "A pacifist whose work has made weapons."

Harland opened his mouth to defend himself, but flea dragged his finger across his chest. Harland couldn't help but get distracted as the general's nail tugged at his collar.

"I don't make weapons." He said, unable to hide the slight waver in his voice.

Flea pouted at him condescendingly. "You may not make them, but would they exist without you?"

Harland clenched his jaw.

"Even when you fight-"

"I don't fight." Harland interrupted.

"EVEN WHEN YOU FIGHT," Flea continued, "you are offensively defensive."

Flea smiled, enjoying Harland struggling to keep himself composed. He stood in front of him, tracing his jawline. "What a contradictory mess of a man…”

30. Favourite idea you haven’t started on yet

Oh man there's so much. I will say it's my screenplay, Misled Millionaire, that was an integral part to making me wanna study film. I've planned so much without it feeling ready and I knew I needed to learn more to do the idea justice, and I still have hand written notes from 2019 that I kept, and even found the original quick note I wrote in my phone all the way back when I just had it as a silly little idea:

Reclusive millionaire searching for new life purpose, unlikely friendship with a fake psychic.

The story has changed quite a bit, but the gist of it is that a younger entrepreneur type is feeling lost and lacking despite ticking off so many boxes that should mean he's successful and happy. While he tries to find himself, he grows dependant on his new friendship with a little old lady who gives him fortunes, until one day he can't find her when he really needs her. When I've made progress on other stories, I'll write the screenplay and hopefully direct it myself! So no stealing my ideas!!

-you two had been partners LONG before the red sky, seemingly always have been by one anothers side. at first, he didn't really see you as much more than 'weird kid who bothers me.' you were just someone in his classes that didn't really talk to anyone or go out of your comfort zone in general- much like himself. they didn't know why you'd initially approached them, only that you'd leaned over their shoulder to look at what they'd been drawing.

"Cat person, huh?" You'd chimed. It was less a question and more of a verbal observation. Just something you'd noticed and decided to speak aloud.

They'd given you a short glance, looking for any sort of mocking or planned malice in your expression. You returned a patient, blank one of your own. They'd shrugged. You smiled at their wordless response, "You're good at drawing them. What's your name?"

There'd been a short pause as he'd considered his options here. He really wasn't planning to get to know anybody, most people were too put off by his lack of speech and he didn't like always having to come up with something to say. You'd never been especially loud, though, only really speaking when called on or otherwise had to. Come to think of it, this was really the first time he could remember seeing you go out of your way to talk to anyone. Why you chose them of all people was beyond them, but they'd grow to appreciate it.

Sure, he could just lie and hope you'd go away. Sure, that would be a guaranteed silence. However, they weren't too sure they entirely wanted you gone. So, rather than go with an easy route out, they'd answered.

"Hank."

-It was a quick friendship that he hadn't been expecting. You weren't constantly together at first, moreso just talking every now and then. It'd started as a comfort when it came to group projects, not having to worry about talking to anyone new or really talk much at all. Then you'd stay with him at lunch, eventually showing him some corner you'd always go hide off at in the past to get away from all the noise.

-They'd found familiarity in most of your mannerisms, making way for some sort of personal connection. You didn't like being looked at, you didn't like loud noises, and you didn't like being around many people. He didn't know when he'd started making some kind of an effort to help you out, only that he'd made a habit of closing doors or setting things down softer. In the same breadth, you would talk or clarify for him when needed, you'd make a point of giving him personal space unless he'd said you could do otherwise, and you did your best to try and make sure your voice was quiet.

-They'd found themself much more comfortable with you than they thought they'd be as the years went on. You'd invite them over to watch horror movies and eat whatever sounded the best, usually ending in one or both of you falling asleep on the couch. (It was rarely ever an issue for them. They'd long since gotten used to you leaning on them and it was all too easy to pick you up. That was something you were particularly sour about, pouting when you could barely get them to budge when you tried to push them. You didn't seem as upset when it'd gotten a chuckle out of him.)

-There'd been no real pattern to the movies you watched, other than that a grand majority were horror related. You'd said you just liked them for how cheesy they could be, offering to change the movie only to get a relatively quick denyal. He'd later admitted he liked the bad jumpscares and the poor practical effects.

You'd been watching some bad film again that night, something about werewolves and a camp. You'd had your head against his shoulder while your eyes focused on the screen. They weren't sure why they'd gotten the urge to look over at you, excusing it as just wanting to see your reaction to whatever happened on screen. They were equally unsure why they'd instinctively tensed up as if to fight a flinch when you looked back at him.

"Something up?" You'd hummed, grinning a bit. They'd held their tongue for a good moment, unintentionally focusing on your teeth for a breath. They'd noticed early on in your friendship that you didn't exactly look like any one else he'd seen in that regard. Obviously, it wasn't something he was going to say anything about, not wanting to risk offense. They were far sharper than most's, your canines were far longer than his, curved outward in a way unique to you.

He'd finally shaken his head, satisfying your question enough that you'd just shrugged and looked back to the screen. He was glad you didn't pry any further than that, he was a little too focused on the teeth of the main monster in the movie. They did look awfully familiar, didn't they?

-Despite the casualness of it all, they were planned out on your part. Less in that you had any real itinerary those nights (you didn't at all, only a few vague ideas of what you could do) and more in that you were specific in when they'd happen. They'd never really noticed at first, helped by your variety of excuses that ranged from being busy with some sort of repetitive task to being sick, as well as the general distance between those restrictions. There was really only a handful of days you had some sort of limit on. He'd only really gotten a picture of it when you'd invited him into your room, you busying yourself with 'getting sorted' (shoving a few discarded shirts under your bed or tossing a water bottle in a random drawer) while he'd studied the calender you had hanging up.

There really wasn't much to note- a few project deadlines, notes here and there, and a few days you had crossed out. Those caught his eye, bearing a similar pattern when he'd glanced at the past month. One or two days were fully crossed out, then a few others had a dash through them.

"Full moon days," You'd spoken up. He'd looked back at you, only really registering you were talking to him when he'd found your gaze on him. You didn't clarify any further, not making any sort of move from where you stood or taking a breath to talk longer. That was all you had to say on the matter. He'd hummed in acknowledgement, straightening back up as he turned away from the calender. You had a curious look, something contemplative as you stared a bit longer. He'd made the move to snap you from your daze this time, walking forward to sit down on your bed.

"You really shouldn't keep so many drinks in here."

He'd leaned back against the wall as any tension disappeared from the moment, watching as you clicked your tongue before making your case. He didn't ask any further about it, even when you cancelled on those days again. You didn't give an excuse, he didn't ask for one.

-Eventually, you both graduated, deciding to move in with one another. You weren't exactly ready to be alone just yet and he could use the company. Nights spent watching slashers continued on, only really broken up by the steadily growing amount of times you'd fall asleep in one another's rooms. It was typically yours he'd fall asleep in after you passed out on top of him in the living room. They'd carry you to your room, you'd tug on their shirt or grab their hand after waking up from being set down, and they'd relent to lay down next to you. It wasn't something they minded, you ran warm and it felt more comfortable in your room anyway (He discarded the fact you had the same kind of mattress).

-it was the first time he'd ever really directly asked about the full moon thing, curious on if you'd go somewhere else for those days or if he should do something for you. You'd given it some thought, going quiet for a good few moments before eventually shrugging and saying you'd be ok, there were just two rules you had on those nights. Keep the curtains shut and give breathing space. They were plain enough, even if he didn't entirely understand it, he didn't want to dig any deeper. You'd never pried into his personal business and they were going to return that kindness. (They'd never said it aloud, but they were afraid to. They didn't want to push you too far and ruin your relationship. They were scared to lose you, and they didn't particularly enjoy the unfamiliar feeling.)

-you typically just stayed in your room those days, not leaving for very long. it could be worrying, but he trusted that you could handle yourself. (You'd always laugh a bit at his visible concern over the next day or so, him hanging around you awkwardly in some sort of silent 'hey im here if you need me.' You appreciated it, even if it could be a funny sight. You'd usually just ask for company.)

-It was less than a total fix for you, but you didn't want to scare him off at this point. Sure, he was an intimidating bastard, but at least he was just an ordinary grunt like everyone else. You didn't let yourself dwell on it too much, not wanting to rile yourself up over something that might never happen (if you were lucky, that is). Besides, it was easy to forget about when you were too busy fighting back sleep as you layed with him. Really, it was unfair just how quickly you'd pass out with the purring and weight of his arms around you combined.

-Of course, though, nobody's that lucky in Nevada. It was a stupid idea in retrospect, but you'd convinced yourself if you let yourself shift just once you could get through the month without feeling like your bones were about ready to rip through your skin. You were impressed by your own ability to stay quiet throughout the whole process, managing to get by with a few strained noises and hisses (sure, you'd done it a million times before, but nothing makes the sensation of bones shifting and skin shredding any easier). You'd been too busy focusing on your voice level to really consider just how loud cracking and popping of joints really would be when echoing in a room.

They'd always told themselves they would stay out of your room during these periods no matter what. They were obviously of great importance to you and you'd made the ground rules clear. However, they also had to make sure you were safe. Past times, you'd always turned out alright, even if you'd been cooped up in your room for a day or two. Those times though, it didn't sound like this. It was faint, just faint enough that he'd only really noticed it when he'd passed by your room. He'd stood there for a moment or two, still as a statue as he considered his options here. There was no clear way out, both having their own risks attributed to them. Eventually, with one last little snap, they threw caution to the wind and opened the door.

It took them a moment to adjust to the darkness in the room, the only real light source being the moonlight through the window. He could make out the outline of your bed and nightstand in it, along with something shuffling on the floor. A grand majority of his mind told him to move towards it, stopped only by the part that knew something wasn't right.

You were too exhausted to move, taking several long moments to notice he'd even entered the room, blood draining from your face when you noticed his gaze on you. Despite your body crying for the opposite, for just a moment longer of rest, you'd pushed yourself up with as much strength as you could muster. It was only enough to back up against the wall, lowering your head as you stared right back at him.

You didn't know what to do, where to even begin. You didn't know if you could find your voice- it was hard enough to speak when you were in this form, but when you were panicking this much? It might've been impossible to make any coherent sound. Maybe you could try and run past him, leave and come back tomorrow and say that a wolf got in your room and you got out through the window- but, he would've noticed the window was shut and that this 'wolf' was awfully big. You didn't know why he hadn't moved, why he hadn't run. You weren't sure if you were more terrified at the prospect of him running from or towards you.

God, he could kill you. Just the thought alone was enough to drum up a cold sweat, if not for your fur it would've been dripping off of you at this point. He could just run at you and slam your head against a sharp corner and you would be done for just like that, if not from the injury then from your reluctance to fight back. You just had to hope and pray this was nothing more than a nightmare that you'd wake up from and go to him for comfort for. You just had to hope you'd wake up on the couch while a movie played and rough hands ghosted your spine. You just had to hope that you would have someone in your life other than your own flesh and blood that bore the same scars that would stay.

You'd flinched as he took a step towards you, back brushing the wall and only serving to make you feel even more cold. He'd hitched in his movements at this, continuing forth while you settled for pressing as much of yourself against the wall, utterly trapped in place. He'd gotten down to his knees, lowering himself to something relative to your level. When his hands finally stretched towards you, you'd jolted from your spot, trying to make some sort of effort to shove past him. It was short lived, him catching your midsection to pull you against him.

It was over. You were stuck and he knew it and he was going to kill you. But his hands didn't move. He didn't make any move to strangle you as you thrashed and kicked at the floor. He didn't make any move to crack your skull open as you'd jerked to try and drag yourself past him. He didn't make any move to crush your ribcage as you choked something akin to a sob out. He just sat there with his arms around you like he always did and pulled you as close as he possibly could. If the moment were any better you could've laughed at how you finally were taller than him.

It was only when you finally stopped struggling that he moved, reaching a hand up to tilt your head towards his. There was a long moment, your eyes finally meeting as he studied yours. You didn't know what to think at that moment, too tired to and too torn up to want to even try to decipher how you felt. He'd stared a moment longer before he finally broke the silence that'd been weighing your chest down.

"Are you hungry?"

You wish you could've laughed in his face. Instead, you'd just nodded.

-There's a long conversation the next morning, one that starts shortly after you wake up in his room again (something he'd insisted on in the hopes you wouldn't make a run for it before there was some sort of closure here). Much to your surprise and relief, he's not too concerned about it. It's something he's willing to brush off for the most part- you've always been weird to him, this is no different (your pout at the sentiment almost makes him smile, you know they mean it affectionately).

-There's not too much change to your routine, only that he's instead the one that lays against you during full moons. Admittedly, it's something they're curious about and ask you about for a good while. They just like knowing little tid-bits that you're comfortable offering up. They're just happy knowing that you're able to confide in him about this now and don't feel the need to hide it anymore (even if he's gotten more than a good few affectionate bites on the arms, he grows fond towards them).

-If anything, it only adds another sort of odd unique layer of connection between the two of you. He smooths your fur while you dig your claws into the sheets and you help wash the blood off him when he gets home. Lucky you, without a sun you don't need to worry about any sort of required shifts now do you?

Hi again! 🥰 Here's the second part of the gossip 😂😅 

Ok so about the first movie I mentions the The Batman Vs Dracula (2005)... honestly it's probably not a scary movie at all😂 I just have a very vivid memory or watching it as a kid and being terrified of "scary" movies very since. It was on of those straight to DVD animated movies. There was to be an animated cartoon show called "The Batman" and I use to watch it ALL the time with the animated Justice Leagues. The movie was one of those like off set ones. Like you know how there was Tom and Jerry the show and then they had all the individual movies with separate plots that kinda ignore the other stuff! It was like that and since it was like a kids show movie they actually probably didn't show any violence at all I was just not a child who liked vampires😂 The actor who actually voices Batman in the show and movie is the same guy who narrated the Curious George show so that about how kid friendly it was😂 I mean it probably wasn't a bad movie it just scared me so bad and I've hated movies like it since🤣 it took me ages to watch like Vampire Diaries or like Grimm after😂

I'm gonna be honest too😂 I also only watch The Christian Bale Batman movie after starting Peaky Blinders and hearing Cillian was in it😂 Plus my dad already had it so I don't have to pay😂 It was actually a good movie though! I still need to see the other two in the series😂And it defiantly have to look up Anthropoid too maybe if you think it's good! English is my only language but if Cillian's in it I can probably just watch for him😂😂

And ohh yes! I'd defiantly recommend some of those other movies too! Most of them are Alfred Hitchcock movies and his stuff is good (or the thrillers are)! I was even thinking a while back if trying to include in of his works in a Peaky Story I was trying to right! Did you know the first film he directed came out in 1922 (Number 13) ! It's technically on the list of lost films but be still released a good number in the 20's and 30's😂 I wanted to get something where the reader is at the movies with Finn or Isiah and when they hear who the director is they won't stop making jokes about his last name😂  

I'll defiantly have to take a look at "The Medic" when I can too! I'm honestly not super use to reading the real person stories, I usually stick to the totally fictional character, but I'll definitely have to give it a try if you think it's good! I think I've read some of the other stories on the lists though and I remember liking them a lot!! So I'll have to look into it!

I think I may end up leaning towards Bonnie or Michael for the comedy blood dialogue story, but I still want to write for Ollie, even if it is Platonic I feel like he's appreciated😂 He's basically to Alfie what Lizzie is to Tommy and we know how hard Tommy made it😅 I can imagine Alfie being even harder to work for sometimes when he's pissed (Even if I do love the man!)

And yes! Omg! Michael changed so much even after the first two seasons 🥲 I can both understand why it happens but also I really liked like S2 early S3 Mike who wasn't totally power hungry and trying to be a mini Tommy! Even though we see bar again once I always wonder what happens to his Foster Family, or at least his Mother and Brother!  I think if there was an episode where Mike like ran into his little foster brother who's grown up now it could have been interesting! Like it could have been cool to see how that played out if his little brother showed up one day needing help because he didn't realise mike wanted to forget them (Maybe I have a new idea now😂) The first time I saw him in the pics and trailer of season six with the mustache was kinda shocking to me. Because then I saw the mustache all I could thing about was how it remind me of Inspector Campbell's (And Hitlers). And since considering what Campbell did to the family (esp. to Polly for Mike to get out of jail that one episode in S2😭) it made me draw a parallel. It was like proof he had turned in to one of his families worst enemies and that's when I knew who was gonna die🥲 Or like it was proof he had kinda of turned into what both his mothers never wanted him to be😭 And that just struck me with how much he had changed since the start! I think Finn's character was kind of how Polly wanted Michael to turn out (At leat the part where he wasn't made for the family business) but because of all the trama he had gone though and his own inabliltiy to share his feelings or be content with what he had he kinda went down😭 He really was an interesting character though and I really did like him in the very first seasons he was in! I really do wonder how he would have turned out if he had never left his foster family after first meeting the Shelby's.

It did make me laugh the other day though. I was trying to start Animal Kingdom b/c I wanted to see more stuff Finn Cole was in, and it seemed to me like it was like a Modern Day American Peaky Blinders almost😂 And then I found two more thing he was in (I'm still looking for more😂) and I read their synopsis. And it hit my mind that based of those 4 movies Finn Cole seems to enjoy playing Characters that start of as like the "innocent Farm Boy / Nice guy" types and slowly become more corrupted or end up becoming power hungry or the "darker bad boy running from the law" type😂 Also he seems to enjoy taking roles with characters in difunctional Families, and don't get my wrong he plays those characters very very well (like the empty stare he did as Mike sometimes was creepy!) but I kinda want find something with him in it where I don't have to prepare myself for someone to die or murder someone every few episodes 😂

One of my friends ended up finding a hurricane playlist on Spotify and I didn't realize how many songs there were referencing hurricanes😂 Once the lights went out we played Uno in the dark with only a small lamp to see our cards😂 it was actually fun and a good distraction! We also played Cards against Humanity enrich went how you may expect it to go with a bunch of college students😂

I don’t remember watching that movie at all…. But since you mention it’s not scary, I guess I will add it to my list then! (I’m a chicken when it comes to terror films lol) omg I can’t believe never heard of this cartoon! Maybe it wasn’t popular in my hometown? Oh but of course I know of Tom & Jerry! It was one of my favorites! Just like the animaniacs (is that correct?) I remember watching the last Tom & Jerry movie in like 2021? But I guess the different plots was a plan so you didn’t have to watch it in order… oh no! curious George? Guess I will have to google that one! Because it does t ring a bell, I used to watch more like Melissa explains it all and Sabrina 🤭🤭 hahah about vampires since you enjoy them, did you see Buffy? Interview with a vampire is a must then, I know I watched that one a looong time ago! You know just about two years ago I was able to watch that Halloween film (sorry I forgot the name) where Angelica Houston is a witch and she and other witches get together in a hotel and they all turn into horrible women and then put a spell on two kids who saw them and turn them into mice? It’s an ancient film but I haven’t found the “courage”to watch it until recently haha

Michael was a good kid, but he got carried away and like you said he tried to become a mini-Tommy and that messed him up, who knew things would end up like they did ? Right? It’s one of those things we got stolen from the show,like his adoptive mother forgot about him? They never crossed paths again? (Why does this sounds like a plot for a fic? 😂), ugh the mustache was horrible! 😳 hmm I see what you mean there, haven’t thought about the resemblance between Michael and Campbell until you mentioned it! It’s sad the way his character turned out, all of that frustration and anger towards his own blood? He had a good life, but well… he’s gone 😂 . She practically raised Finn! Another sad story, the poor boy doesn’t feel like he belongs there… and made mistake after mistake.

Oh is it good? Never seen it, but I think I remember watching some advertising for it in some channel… hahaha how’s the search going? I don’t think I have seen anything else from his work, I just know Ada (Sophie Turner) did another series but it was canceled later. Hmm really? That sucks! The poor guy will get stuck into that kind of characters and the. Bit of a switch but leaning more sub. Mans for the most part is a pretty subby service top ( though this is absolutely flexible ), whose sole aim would be pleasing his partner and happily following any and all orders to the letter. He absolutely more than willing to be the one to take the reigns and call the shots if his partner wants the control taken out of their hands, but at his core, he is at their every whim, and happily so.

-Praise. Praising him is a big one. He’s already a sucker for praise outside of intimacy, but in the moment, he will straight up MELT. That's all he wants, to know that he's doing a good job for his partner. And for a fact, he will spill plenty of praises for his own partner as well.

-Likes biting and scratching, though is more of a biter himself. Likes to bite his partner’s thighs, shoulders and chest the most. Would be their neck, but he’s terrified of hurting them, esp post-ascension. Being marked up by his partner like that is something he adores. Makes him feel owned by them in one more, very much tangible way. He especially likes it when he can still feel the dull sensation thrumming as he goes about his day to day.

-Is into body worship, loves in particular to kiss his lover's scars and especially any other things they might have mentioned they think imperfect of themselves. Definitely pays special attention to those places, and would strive to show how much he loves that part of them too.

-Likes the idea of hair pulling, esp if his partner does so to move him how they like or to grab his attention. Likewise likes the idea of doing it to his partner if they like it, to prompt a kiss or bare their neck for him, always being very gentle about it unless they voice otherwise.

-For a Fact, has a HUGE thing for initiating things while in uniform. Both bc he loves how it looks and bc of the risk factor.

🏩 What was my muse’s first time like?

A bit fumbled, a bit flustering, but definitely a moment he looks back on fondly, even with how embarrassed he was throughout.

He hadn’t anticipated how awkward he himself would be in the moment, having thought being with someone who knew him so intimately as it was would make things more comfortable and far easier. Instead, he found himself tripping up and stumbling damn near all the way through, same as them. Both due to lack of experience and just how in awe he was of them. Of having the chance to be and share this with them.

What he remembers most fondly is laughter spilling from their lips as their noses smushed together in clumsy kisses, head bumping together, teeth clacking a slight in their eagerness. Wandering hands and playful little prods and teasing pinches, because they couldn’t help their usual banter coming to the forefront, even now.

He remembers endlessly fretting over them, almost feeling his heart stop at their first wince, frantic apologies flooding from his lips even as the cupped his face and told him it was alright.

He remembers soon breathlessly speaking their name like a mantra once they grasped a decent rhythm at last, voicing it again and again, the only prayer that would ever leave his lips in his life, just as he would come to think of their body as the only temple he would ever find wherein to worship.

He remembers their voice as a hymn, a sweet melody to fill his heart and quell the ebbing tides of his thoughts the more he'd draw it from their lips, his own but a simple harmony to theirs in turn.

Above all, he remembers laying together afterwards, foreheads pressed together and legs entangled. Remembers sleepy, teasing little kisses pressed to his lips along with rasped I love you’s and fond reassurances, as he'd held them close and wished they could simply remain in that very moment, for all time.

The memory never fails to bring a smile to his face.

Would absolutely prefer a small wedding, something nice and intimate with only family and their closest friends involved ( they ARE pretty much family after all ). Would be open to discussing a bigger event if his partner is set on it, but for himself, he really would like a nice, small ceremony.

3. What ideas come from when you were little

as I said in a previous ask, I had lots of stories when I was younger but I never did anything with them. Esp when I was a kid. I had this whole story about how animals could talk but their voices were being stolen

....... maybe me being a furry comes from then...

Sideshow Bob, The Simpsons. A staple, for sure. I get in and out of the Simpsons fandom often but it's usually Bob who draws me back in. He's elegant, in aesthetics and voice and mannerisms. He has little ways of moving and speaking that are intoxicating. He's also quite complex and sympathetic. He's been ready to murder before and physically abuses people. He's in no way reformed. But his heart is hurting. He really doesn't feel appreciated or seen enough by anyone.

Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. I already knew I'd love this character in BB because I love Bob Odenkirk in Tim and Eric. He turned a fairly minor, silly character into one of such depth and complexity. Fun fact: watching Better Call Saul lit a fire under my ass to pursue a law degree myself. Jimmy is very sympathetic but sometimes does things that are beyond cringy (all part of his plan, of course).

Light, Death Note. I just love this character; he's fucking horrible. The book could have gone to anyone, so it's interesting to see it in the hands of this red pilled asshole with a serious god complex. He loves himself for being so smart, but when it really counts...

Ryoko, Tenchi Muyo. I don't remember much from that show, nor much about Ryoko. But I bring her up because she was the first female character I developed a serious crush on.

Zhao Yunlan, Guardian. An excellent show, really fun and filled with characters and concepts. Zhao Yunlan is gorgeous of course but his real draw is his personality. He's technically a cop but at least he works on more supernatural cases and tries to help people. He is smitten with his co-worker from the beginning, and their love story promises to expand over may lifetimes

Villianelle, Killing Eve. Very cute, beautiful, sweet...and deadly. She acts like a typical uncaring killer in the beginning but she begins to unravel as the show goes on. Her obsessive love for Eve is fascinating, makes me hopeful for some consummation, and tragic. What really got to me from her is how deeply sad and empty she in inside no matter what it seems. Her job is assassin and she's expected to do her job well. But in her heart, she doesn't really want this.

Maurice Moss, the IT Crowd. I only just started watching this show, but it's very cute and funny. I don't dislike anyone. Maurice is adorable and his mannerisms and shyness remind me of myself. I can absolutely get that way around people. And I love "nerdy" stuff (esp. in the context of this show, where nerd meant STEM field devotee)

Jimmy Conway, Goodfellas. Definitely a character I think of when I'm writing my Mafia stories. I like that he's a "gent" to some people, esp. those who cooperate. He could be a good partner, till the second you disagree with him or no longer want to play ball.

Rochelle, Left 4 Dead 2. One of my absolute favorite games for years. I miss playing it (my computer can't handle it). She's cute and got a lot of fun voice commands. Of all the survivors I can identify with her and Nick the most (and I ship them). She loves Depeche Mode! She's brave but you can tell she's just hanging on and depends on the team to keep going. She seems defiantly hopeful and determined to reach the objective.

Biff, Back to the Future. At first he just seemed like your typical meatbag villian, and I won't pretend he's much more complex than that. But there's something that draws me to him, maybe seeing his struggles, mostly against himself. Bullies like him are usually compensating for something or are being abused themselves. He already gets treated like shit by the principal, and he's probably used to being figuratively spat on by teachers and other elders. He's loathsome, but I want him?
