AKHENATEN

uhhh let's see. I combined some sketches I did of Nefertiti and Akhenaten and ended up somewhere here for an Akhenaten design. in my heart, it's for a comic but there's so much visual research I'd have to do before I could even think about approaching a comic. oof.

anyway moving on: Akhenaten was a childhood obsession! and then I moved onto other things, as one does, but then a couple months ago I decided to check out some books and now I have a headache.

My self-indulgent Champion Swap AU with Nemona and Leon :]

Uh expect more content of this, cuz this AU has been gripping my brain for the past week or so ahahah

More rambling under cut:

Nemona:

Whereas regular Leon's dream is for Galar's trainers to be the strongest in the world, Swap Nemona's dream is to simply get more people to enjoy Pokémon battling.

Despite the Galar League's uber-competitive attitude, Nemona has always prioritized having a good Pokémon battle over winning. The title of "Undefeated Champion" exhausts her.

I'm not entire sure who her ace/Dynamax Pokémon would be. Probably either Pawmot or her starter Pokémon.

If I knew Goroawase (Japanese wordplay with numbers), I would've given Nemona a number other than 1. I'll probably look into it more.

I'm thinking the other player character (Victor/Gloria) would replace Hop in this AU. Nemona helped raise them/was really close to them in childhood and they're siblings in all but blood.

Her family is still rich and on the board of the Rotom Phone company. Nemona's Champion status is excellent for sponsorships, but her family still rarely contacts her.

While Nemona's struggle with throwing Pokéballs is publicly well-known, it is NOT something she is made fun of for. >:(

Leon:

I'm gonna be real, I know way more about Nemona in general over Leon :']

While having a similar passion for Pokémon battling, Swap Leon is definitely more competitive compared to Nemona.

If he's not at the Academy or training around Paldea, he's at home taking care of his little brother Hop, who's almost ready to enroll at the Academy.

Experienced similar levels of isolation (and possibly bullying) compared to regular Nemona at the Academy. I'm still debating why specifically, but honestly? The Academy already seemed like a pretty awful place before the Team Star ordeal anyways :')

Still has Charizard as his ace. Bonded pair do not separate lol.

I did draw a version of Leon in the Naranja Academy uniform, he just looked better in the Uva Academy uniform hjkfhwk

Um um um that is all I can remember at the moment. I have a few comic ideas I wanna draw but also my school starts up literally tomorrow so I won't be able to draw much 😔

I kinda love how the moment Leo got his dual wield katana back, he adapted so much more naturally to his teleportation abilities.

Not to say he didn’t come around with the odachi, but it was pretty clear that he struggled hard with the mystic properties of it, and I think that it’s partially because while the odachi itself is a portaling tool that seemingly most anyone can use, Leo’s innate mystic abilities call for something to work with him, not for him.

So it makes perfect sense why his katana, made from himself and more in line with how he naturally fights, finally allow him to seamlessly grasp his space warping abilities to the extent he can.

godddd the Legacy of Kain series was so fucking sexy. Gratuitous and satisfying violence, time travel, ridiculously gothic setting (Dark Souls wishes, frankly), bizarrely interesting take on vampires, one of the most convoluted plots I've ever experienced, ARIEL character of ALL TIME, wonderful evocative soundtrack, beautifully purple-prosed dialogue Always delivered in the most arch way possible, colossal Lovecraftian god who is basically your boss and not even the wildest thing you encountered that week, cosmic centuries long identity crises, the most Doomed By the Narrative cast ever, and every male character has his tits out, what more could one possibly ask for. I would eat up a remaster of that series.

How do we feel about neige

Now THATS a fun question because he genuinely is a Nice Guy, but it’s interesting because we view him from NRC’s point of view (specifically Vil’s and partially Rook’s, and indirectly though Harveston w the dwarfs). It would also be nice to see how the ‘heroes’ are twisted, compared to the villains. I wish we had more info about him that’s directly HIM on screen and not information from other characters, because the characters all interact differently with each other and we need Neige MEALS and not CRUMBS 😭🗣️

(Small spoiler) We ALMOST saw more of him in GloMas, we were THIS CLOSE 🤏

[Fabin] tilts his head, pressing his forehead to the window frame. “What are dreams like?” he asks quietly.

Emilia sits across from him, watching how his eyes stare through the window but see nothing. She thought he'd left that behind in the weeks and months after their parents were killed, thought the long silences were finally over. She tucks her arms against her sides. “They're...like memories. Only more vivid.”

His fingers close around the hilt of his sword. “What do you dream about?”

She rolls her shoulders. “Places I've never been. Things I've never seen.”

One of his hands presses against the glass. “Do you ever dream of...of humans?”

She studies him with a worried frown. “Is there something you want to talk about?”

He recoils, his expression twisting with anger before it closes off. “No. I'm fine. I don't have dreams.” He turns away from her. “Never mind.”

Emilia sighs. “I talked Muiris down. He doesn't want to kill you anymore.”

“Good for him.”

“You should apologize for breaking his foot.”

Fabin turns to face her again, his eyes wide. “I actually broke it?”
