can you imagine that one of the biggest reasons I wanted to draw this is because I wanted backless dress shirt for KDJ and I didn't have the chance to draw this even once in the comic itself

I'm trying really hard to think of a coherent title for the AU because Hero x DKOS is such a mouthful but i just cant think of anything wheeze

maybe "Demon King X Love - How to teach Salvation" or "Mission:Love" "Demon King and me"? "The hero storms into my castle and wants to teach me love" "Kill me not kiss!" it's all not hitting what I have planned for the story

I'll think of something eventually... until then....

Repost because after finishing that astronaut YJH I kept thinking how I actually really like very blue drawings like that and regret I desaturated this illustration a bit too much (this version is still less blue before i started adjusting haha) Anyway I made some more edits this is said edit.

This illustration is honestly a weird one, I keep thinking how i dont like it as much, but then i see it my thoughts change to "damn, it's actually pretty nice" before I don't look at it for a while, remember it and go "man it didnt turn out that well"

yay the basic premise is set! Tentative title would be something like "Impromptu lessons in love", because in reality YJH doesn't really know how to approach this whole topic either... he'll try his best.

Notes on characterisation:

Generally speaking I based off this KDJ of the early KDJ from the novel. It's never explicitely stated (iirc), but I don't think KDJ cared much about other people. He cares a lot about his friends, but towards strangers / people as a mass, he's more apathetic or even antagonistic. This doesn't mean he's outright cruel though. More so that he keeps his distance, but there's still some silent resentment.

Or hmm, to put it best: as individual KDJ probably doesn't really mind you, but when thinking of society/people as a whole, he'll show a certain distaste towards that group.

YJH here similarly is also rather anti-social but in a lone wolf way to KDJ's hermit. In my mind, YJH was always the "body of steel, heart of glass" type of character. So he'll be mostly be very rough on the edges, outright asshole, yet his kindness hits in the most unconventional ways

Those are about the vague notes I left myself in my mind palace I'm not sure how far I'll go with the AU, I'll have to see 🤔 will proably depend on A) reception and most importantly B) my mood lol

Thought I could wrap this silly AU up in two parts, but instead ended up with so many ideas, I could make a multi volume doujin out of it in tears this was supposed to be a fun detour.

Anyway more notes I came up with while drawing:

As YJH alldued to, the demons are basically reborn humans, who have been wronged in some form or another. So, the demons are basically a man made evil of sorts. Their resentment turns into energy which then give their bodies new life.

Demon also all have pointed ears, except KDJ. Whether that's because he's their king or some other reason, is not known. (but to me mwahaha)
