- follow cops who are harassing homeless people (they are emboldened now, esp regarding nonwhite folks). Film then, ask for their badge #s, ask if the individual they are bothering is being charged with anything and if they’re free to go. This doesn’t require aggression but rather a calm, implacable patience. Try to give off “You have all day to make sure rights are followed. You can out wait them” vibes

-Record ICE while they are detaining folks

-distribute know your rights flyers / paste ups / graffiti. Print red cards (google them) in the language(s) common in your area and leave them in bathrooms or bus stops.

-look up if your local hospitals have stopped offering gender-affirming care to minors. If your state law still protects trans youth rights, contact local lgbt+ groups. Chances are they’re putting together a letter to that hospital(s) to say that they’re breaking state law to get federal funding. If a group doesn’t exist, you can maybe write a letter like that yourself.

-find out if your workplace or school has a “reacting to ICE raid” policy. Know it. Distribute it. If it doesn’t exist (and you’re comfortable asking - good thing for documented folks to do with their privilege) ask for one to be made.

synopsis : what would happen if you were to go abroad as an exchange student and then come back to meet your childhood bestie ?

It was supposed to be for one year only. You were an academically successful high school student and due to your language skills , you were accepted to be an exchange student for one year. Even tho it was uncomfortable at the beginning to leave your hometown , your comfort zone and esp your friends behind ; it was a great opportunity for your career ahead of you. So you accepted and went to USA for one year. But that one year turned into two years because you were still successfull at the school you went. You were given privileges that you couldn't resist just because they didn't want to lose an all rounder student like you. At the end of those two years , you were so homesick that you missed even your childhood bestie Sugishita's non-verbal growlings. So you booked the first ever flight to Japan and jumped in , knowing that finally you could go see him and everybody you have left behind.

When you came back and settled into your home after a long time , you decided to go stroll around the town because in the two years that you were absent , it seems the town changed drastically.

When you were strolling around at the newly opened shops and trying to find your way through the complexicated roads, you remembered that Sugishita was studying at Furin. You decided to pay a visit for him and merrily walked the place you remembered , in thoughts of surprising him.

When the building covered in massive graffities and a few ivies was in your sight but there was no one at the front yard , you thought that they should be at lesson period rn. So you decided to enter and wait inside. You entered and went directly at the room stated with "principal" sign to find your way to his class. You have learned that his class was 1-1 so you went upstairs and waited at the door for the lesson to finish.

After about 20 minutes , the teacher got out of classroom , leaving the door open behind him. You peeked inside from the corner of the door to see where Sugishita is and saw the class was all gathered around a table , talking and laughing at things. His back was turned to you so you made a childishly mischievous plan for the surpise.

You took a deep breath to calm your nerves and got out of your hiding place , stepping inside the classroom. A guy with split hair half white half black and a guy with pink hair and piercings have noticed you. You gently made a "hush" sign for them. They understood the sign and continued the convo like nothing happened. Then slowly with silent steps , you creeped behind him and covered his eyes with your hands.

You gave him your signature scheming laugh for him to recognize you before you withdrew your hands. He turned back around and saw you gummy smiling at him. His scowl softened and eyes were opened slightly in surprise. He was happy , everybody who looked at him could tell that. Now that you have found a vulnerability , an opening , you rushed and captured him into a bone crushing hug.

He introduced every corner and shop to you that is newly opened when you weren't there in Makochi. While a large group of Furin boys stalked you two , snapping photos for later usage of blackmail... also, that’s not an insult to right brained/artistic ppl, I’m one of them (if you couldn’t tell lol)! i’ve been perceived as dumb(er than others) because I’m so driven by creativity, english and the arts (NOT scientific or mathematical at all). It's only once someone gets to know me better, that they learn how intelligent I am. right brain thinkers are more likely to be dismissed or overlooked, imo!

someone like luigi may not have been too surrounded by many right brain thinkers let alone dated them, and he would be so curious about what goes on in your mind.

obviously, you do develop a relationship and the dynamic would be adorable. you balance each other out! there may be some minor situations and misunderstandings where his strict, logical, rational self isn’t sure where you’re coming from; but he always listens to you explain your POV, and does come around to understand it. he’s very open minded, esp when it comes to you!

if he goes book shopping for his own yk NON fiction books, he’ll always come back with a book or two for you. he’ll get home, probably make some sort of joke like “i just chose the book that had the most colourful cover”, when in reality he spent time at the bookstore looking through the books, reading so many back covers to choose one that he knows you’ll genuinely enjoy. or, he’ll just buy a book he remembers you mentioning you wanted in passing. even if he wouldn’t enjoy reading it, he enjoys knowing it brings you joy. and if you talk to him about a book you’re reading/read, he’ll listen as if it’s his favourite genre.

ㅤstupid as they feel for crying, there's something very comforting about the way sol's arms tighten around them, something soothing about the way he rubs their back. any other situation, they'd find it patronizing, but here, now... it's just nice. there's no judgement, only understanding.

this… feels nice, their arms wrapped him, their head resting against his. it’s almost easy to forget what had led up to this moment, there’s just something about the way he feels when he’s in their arms. unfortunately, deep down he this isn’t a normal occurrence.. with what they both went through to even get here.

hell, he didn't think they'd ever get to this point. he thought they were gone for good.

maybe that's why it's so easy to forgive them, because despite their fear, they had come back to him. and they're being so... open with him too, in a way he hadn't seen before. that shows him that they're sincere, that they care about him as much as he cares about him. and since he cares about them so much, it's hard not to forgive them. if they had just barged in and acted like nothing happened, maybe it would've been more difficult, but when he gets to see a real side of them, that's why it's so easy.

when they speak, he listens, and waits for the right time to respond. he's patient with them, picking up on the way their voice wavers as they speak. oh, they're talking about promises now... making one, even after they said they're not one to make promises. for some reason, it gives him more hope, that this will be the last time they have to go through something like this. “ i promise, i'm not gonna leave you. ”

what happens next.. is probably the most surprising thing. since he's not looking at them, he doesn't get to see the first tear fall from their eye. but when they're burying their head in his shoulder, when his shirt's suddenly damp, he comes to the realization that they're crying into his shoulder. and something about that makes his resolve break, and for the first time in a long time, he's crying with them.

he holds them just a bit tighter, resting his chin against the top of their head, and rubbing their back gently. “ you mean a lot to me, too. more than anyone has before. i wouldn't let a mistake ruin everything we have, i... ” he cuts himself off, having to stop and think about what he wants to say. they've been so open with him tonight, so it's time he returns the favor. “ i like what we have together, i like being with you, and i... i like you... more than a friend. ”

in a nutshell, Distant Windchimes Recite Forgotten Memories is Whispering Reed’s creater, pseudo father figure, professional asshole, tormenter, and all around bastard.

He believed the iterators were the cause of the downfall of society into soft, simple-minded fools and tried to start a revolution; he rose the ranks to become RW’s creator so he could indoctrinate her, weaseled his way into the council to seed anti-iterator sentiment and restrict Reed’s rights, and eventually tried to coup and take over the government.

Fortunately for us he played his hand too early and without enough support behind him, so he gave his grand ass speech, tried to coup, failed spectacularly, and was tried for treason and conspiracy and put to death.

He made Reed’s life a living hell… but he was also the closest thing to a father she had. She misses him dearly and hates his guts. She is who she is because of him; for better and worse.

There is a memorial to him in her city, a tradition for high ranking citizens of merit. It’s tucked away though, hidden from public view. One of her overseers keeps constant watch over it. No graffiti or litter tarnishes it; the people knew better than to meddle. They do not understand her attachment, but know better than to anger a grieving god.

He is also the subject of my pfp; that’s his fancy ass tapestry with his golden mask. That one was purposefully marred after his trial to disgrace him. He sucks but it’s also a kickass pfp and originally he was the supervisor over all of the local group so it fit; story has changed significantly but i’m attached at this point

Also in the original story, he was put to death via void fluid and made into an echo permanently stuck on the highest point of WR’s greenhouse. In this version I don’t think this happens, esp after playing watcher and getting a deeper insight into echoes. I don’t think he had the karma; they just gave him the death sentence via whatever method, and he reincarnated back at the very bottom of the chain, forced to climb back up and regain his karma as punishment. He’ll never get to ascend, though, the mass ascension concluded long before his soul could be reincarnated back into a benefactor. Besides, he would not be the same person by then, anyway; good job idiot, you ruined it for all of your next lives

♡ hobie's universe is set in the 1970's and living in a dystopian police-state means it's too risky to bring back a phone with him, so he's often left out of spiderkid groupchats. miles still tries to keep him up to date on the latest memes and inside jokes though. they also have their own inside jokes too

♡ hobie wouldn't bring a smartphone with him anyways since he's so mistrusting of tech in general. video games, laptops, and "smart" tech mystify him, and smart watches? forget about it. when miles gets one for christmas one time, hobie clowned on his bf so hard the watch was never seen again

♡ that being said, they love exchanging music often so the only piece of technology hobie ever brings back to his dimension is an ancient half-busted ipod (it was probably rio's at one point) filled with music miles managed to download for him that week. spiderman-ing and living as a homeless teen means hobie doesn't get much time to explore genres outside of the UK punk scene and listening to brand new genres is often a trip! hobie finds out he loves drum n bass, grindcore, industrial techno, UK drill, deep house and 90's hip hop

♡ rio LOVES hobie. hobie is the perfect gentleman (gentlespider?) around her and often tries to help her around the house when he can. miles... does not enjoy how much his mom favors his partner. jeff is also not so crazy about this smart-mouthed punk

♡ miles and hobie absolutely swap clothing as often as possible, with hobie "borrowing" miles' clothes more often. miles' parents keep commenting on how much of a rockero he looks with all the punk stuff and hobie never returns clothes without having altered them in some way (pins n bits everywhere, a mysterious rip or two here n there, pinned-up sleeves, etc)

♡ miles is absolutely horrible at cooking and feels left out when he sees hobie helping his mom in the kitchen. he desperately tries to learn, but it's a wonder how he hasnt sliced his fingers off yet trying to peel and cut platanos so they can make tostones

♡ for a person who's built like a lamppost, hobie is shockingly graceful with his movements. he always slips around a room like a cat and miles is so jealous of that. long gangly limbs should be a deterrent from moving like That and yet here he is, practically pirouetting around miles for fun

♡ which is a total TRIP when they go out swinging around a city. once the mask is on, every movement hobie makes is chaotic, frantic and unpredictable. spiderpunk and hobie are very different people sometimes

♡ the first person to say "i love you" was miles, but by accident. after realizing it, he was nervous as hell worrying that hobie would clown him to death since he didnt seem like a big romantic. instead, hobie went nuts about it in his own hobie way, writing lyrics about miles' face when he said it, doodling them together more often, teasing miles about it often but lightheartedly. he flaunts miles' love whenever he can

♡ miles has a lethal puppydog face and he KNOWS it! one 🥺 look and hobie immediately folds and gives miles whatever he wants. but not before hemming and hawing about it first, playing up his hesitation just to make miles laugh

♡ miles almost never gets permission to sleep over other friends' houses but on the rare occasions he does, he leaps into portals and goes to visit hobie in his dimension. his fave part of New London is hobie's boat, bc they set up a big hammock for them to lay in, feeling the sway of the boat and letting it lull them to sleep. not to mention that the boat itself is totally badass, and hobie more often than not encourages miles to cover it in graffiti

♡ hobie lowkey (but highkey) loves when miles gets a little bossy, forceful or stern. he loves ribbing miles about it (the "ill do it, but not cuz you told me to" line in mumbattan was a total joke from hobie btw LOL) and saying corny shit in response to a demand, but he loves seeing miles being confident and calling the shots every once in a while. it makes him proud

backstory:

anothony's father decided to leave red creek behind at the age of eighteen, as soon as college started. he wanted more out of life than what the town could offer, and, while sharing a deep, rooted bond with his brother, jacob he didn't particularly agree with his take in life, and how he was fine being outcasted, turned into a handyman everyone hesitated before calling. he managed to build a decent life for himself in detroit.

his obsession with fine taste and the thought of always deserving a life better of the one they lived pass through his bloodline in anthony and their siblings. although, at their birth, his obsession had already become more of a revenge due to what his family was pushed to suffer. he wanted a ransom, payed by the people who caused their downfall.

anthony grew up always aiming for the brightest and furthest star, learning escamotages to get what or where she wanted. something about mastering deception and manipulation, and a had that was about to reach and hold the grip.

what their parent missed though, according to anthony and their siblings, was some backbone and the actual will to move back to red creek and take what he preached belonged to them. he never did, and eventually the siblings made the choice of taking the lead of the situation, more for their own and personal gain than a common and shared sense of redemption for their family's name.

headcanons:

always serving cunt and it's an important aspect of her character. she is kind of obsessed with appearances, but not as in everything has to be polished and perfect, more everything has to be interesting and aesthetically pleasing. the aesthetic in question could very well be bags of garbage thrown in a empty and sketchy backstreet where graffiti and glitching dim lights set the mood. they're a bit bitchy and will 100% judge you.

Urbex Tips

Urban Exploration tips:

Learn basic first aid & bring a first aid kit.

Don't go in alone. Bring at least two other people.

Build up your strength before hand.

You need a tetanus shot every 10 years. If you haven't had one in the last 10 years, get one before you start.

If you're asthmatic, bring your inhaler.

Do research on the building / area beforehand. Figure out why it's abandoned. Learn the history. If it's condemned, find out why. Could be health reasons.

Enter at your own risk.

Tell a trusted person(s) where you're going. Give them the location of any places you're exploring. This is in case something happens, they know where you are/were going. Make sure they know who you're going with.

Hard hats. Being serious. Shit falls, even in "newer" buildings.

Wear gloves (thick leather work gloves, not that plastic faux leather shit, actual leather. not disposables, they won't do shit against glass and metal), goggles (to protect your eyes), a face mask (ideally construction-grade but the fabric types will work well enough), thick, long pants (like jeans), work or hiking boots, long sleeves, and something to cover your hair, like a beanie. If you've got long hair, put it in a ponytail and stuff it under the hat. Trust me. Also deodorant is a good idea.

Invest in a headlamp (easier than using a flashlight)

Avoid the "white 16 year old boy with friends" mentality. Don't do stupid shit because it's funny. If that floor seems unstable, avoid it. Don't smash shit. Don't jump down dark holes.

Don't steal shit. It's tempting, but I don't recommend it.

Avoid tagging / making graffiti, esp identifying graff. Again, tempting, but you can still get in trouble for it.

If someone catches you, BAIL. Don't get into a fight. Don't stick around for pigs to show up. Don't engage, just get out of there. Most of the time, urbex is trespassing.

If you find (which you probably won't) large sums of money, it might be best to report it. It could be stolen or counterfeit and get you in trouble if you use it. But ultimately it's your own choice.

If you find (which you probably won't) bloody clothing, blood-covered knives (or other weapons), or a gun, report it. Fuck pigs yada yada, but it could be connected to someone's death. Don't touch anything, don't take anything, just call the authorities and tell them where it is. I mention this because it could be connected to the assault or murder of sex workers, partners, and/or minorities.

If you find drugs (which you probably won't), report it. Don't use it. Could be laced. Not safe to use, bro, not worth it.

If you find a body(s), (which you probably won't), report it. Check for a pulse, but if the body is cold and/or stiff, call the authorities. If they're still warm, you can try CPR on them while you call for an ambulance. If they have a pulse, call an ambulance. If it looks like they're ODing, use some narcan if you've got it.

If you find Satantic imagery or whatever, 9 times out of 10 it's just teens fucking around. Like I promise you, they were probably left by some guys wanting to cause a stir or trying to make their own ARG or something.

The building isn't haunted, sorry to say. There are rational explanations for every "supernatural" thing you'll encounter. Sometimes they're the aforementioned guys. If you're superstitious, scared of the dark, easily frightened, or suffer from psychosis, you're probably gonna have a bad time.

You may encounter looters, homeless folks, addicts, and/or mentally ill/disabled folks. Try to avoid confrontation. Let them be. If they're alive and unharmed, leave them alone. If they're injured or ODing, attempt first aid (narcan, tourniquets, compresses, etc.) and call an ambulance. No pigs, just medical help.

Watch out for animals. Don't pet them. Don't hurt them. Leave them alone. Also watch out for snakes, esp in buildings with a lot of concrete or gravel.

Don't wear iconic or identifying clothing. Don't worry about looking nice. Don't wear shit you like because it WILL get torn, stained, and trashed.

Just… never assume you're alone.

thoughts on jinx largely using pink for her graffitis because the color reminds her of vi??

i like to think its true bcs it makes all those years of stewing resentment/longing/grieving before she sees vi again hits a little more harder. vi seeps into even the most trivial parts be it conscious or subconscious. even in her 'JINX' grafitti tag the first letter 'JI' is drawn in a shape similar with 'VI' the letter J is just tilted kind of, which is a blatant visual representation of how jinx's heart and soul yearns for her sister. its these little things that truly make me realize how obsessed jinx is with vi & idk to me the fandom doesnt talk enough ab it.

I mean I'll be real lads, jinx was using pink way before arcane and before her and vi were even sisters and I think they chose it because pink and blue go well together and now shes stuck with it forever ksjsjsj. I'm also glad s2 is coming out soon because the more people try to find VI in every poster the more I'm starting to feel like that encanto tweet that's like were running out of things to say about this movie jaisusj

don't get me wrong, I'm also prone to delusions, like riot renewed their K/DA trademark and I've been reading signs in the water and the sky for an upcoming EP/album so its not like I also don't live in delululand but my stance is we don't need to read the posters for signs of jinx's feelings towards vi when jinx already told us. like vi is one of the two protagonists we already know she's central to the story and we know that the vi jinx relationship is the centre of the show and the heart of it. and if you don't realise that then I think you will really love arcane because clearly you've never seen it before jajsjksks

but like, they are the centers of each others stories, vis entire arc in s1 is basically just defined by her sister and s2 will probably do little to change that at least in the first half. we know jinx defines herself outside of vi in some ways but she can't really cut her off, she says explicitly vi is a voice she heard over the years, and seven years on a bitch that slightly looks like vi is a trigger. silcos dead ass or not, that's not something you just move past, vi will always be the most important figure. esp since based on trailers we saw so far it seems that jinx in her current position is not living her best life, we've only seen her struggling and looking devastated so far and I assume vi will also not be thriving so I think it will only emphasise how they really are all each other has. and you can say vi has caitlyn now but first of all, caitlyn is insane amd also a bitch and now has personal and political beef with her sister. second of all, caitvi fandom simply is classist so you would think its not a problem but the class divide between them is a huge part of vis character in league and I assume they will keep thay in arcane looking at the direction they are going towards. they both will never have another person like each other, someone who knows where you come from

the reason the fandom doesnt care about it is not because its not true and factual to the show, its just how this fandom works. firstly, nobody cares about platonic relationships already. secondly, parts of the fandom that care about jinx don't necessarily care about vi and parts of the fandom that care about vi don't necessarily care about jinx so hilariously there doesn't seem to be a ton of overlap between the two parts of the fandom where you would have that relationship explored. and it's a very messy relationship that doesn't show either of them in the best light and fanon content is chronically allergic to complicated dynamics so at most you're getting like ship fics with background vi and jinx fluff or like few throwaway angst lines. and most meta on them just tries to argue that the other one is the problem kskskksksj
