Two Thruths One Lie

Thank you @nelweensfic for the tag. I'd never seen this tag game before, it looks like fun! I wonder if people will find my lie 🤣

I once won 500 € in the German version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire as an audience joker (special joker that only exists in the German version I think) because I knew the text of The Lion King's Hakuna Matata and could help the candidate answer a question. She won 64.000 € in the end if I remember correctly.

I wanted to study art or mathematics/astronomy, and had even sent applications to a few unis... but then i received a positive answer from a language school I had applied to on a whim. They answered long before the unis would send out letters, and I decided (on the spot) to study translation and later terminology instead. Over 20 years after that decision, I'm finally getting back to art and trying to earn my living with it. I did not even realize how much I missed it.

I worked at Disneyland Paris for 3 months back in the day. Lucky me, I never had to run around in these gigantic costumes. I worked there during the summer and I would have died! It was so hot. I thought I could improve my French, but the employees were from all over the world, so we spoke English 95% of the time.

1. So I’m way late to the party with this tag fill - and I’m now sitting at my laptop realising that it’s because I find it incredibly hard to actually love on my creative output. 

So I’m going off track and claiming pride and love for myself for actually writing and publishing anything at all in 2019! 

2. My first ever drarry fic - Heaven’s embroidered cloths - a fic-baby that grew out of wild costuming conversations with @diligent-thunder​ and @bixgirl1​ in the spring. 

Looking back I can see my faltering steps with coming back to writing (and this fandom) but I can also see the beginnings of my version of these characters, the stuttering growth of my voice - and I do love it.

3. I found my own little rarepair niche with my beloved Neville x Theo (nottbottom for those in the know 😂) - All Our Strength, And All Our Sweetness was huge fun to write and I’ve loved playing with this ship’s dynamic. 

All thanks and love for encouraging this foray into Neville-land to @keyflight790​ and to @drarryruinedme7​ for welcoming me aboard ship!

4. I wrote a birthday gift that made someone cry with happiness, which feels pretty damn good - especially as @tackytigerfic​ is a wonderful friend and my fic-taste-twin so it was full on validation on every level tbh.

Patient, Hungry, Waiting was a bit of a turning point for me in finding my vision of drarry, and tuning my words to express myself in a way that made me feel that ‘ah-hah!’ moment.

5. I wrote for Erised! And it turned out to be my favourite of my own work so far. The ‘oh god this is a big fest’ nerves were real on this one - rightly or wrongly - as well as ‘I love my giftee this needs to be good for her!’ 

That which hurts (and is desired) has had such an incredibly warm reception - and knowing people loved it before they knew it was by me was incredibly encouraging.

Needless to say - meeting wonderful, creative, clever, funny, like-minded folks through fandom this year has been the best bit of all ❤️

At seven?

Harry couldn't help but feel tired. The meetings took up the entire afternoon. They felt like a trap, locked up with a bunch of important people to discuss unimportant stuff instead of being at Andromeda's place to watch Teddy with Draco.

He still couldn't believe how much their relationship had changed since they watched Teddy for the first time together. It went from distrusting former enemies to something that made him all warm and fuzzy everytime he thought of it. So it was even worse that he'd be there this late today.

When the last meeting finally ended, Harry all but ran out of that stuffy room and towards the Floo to not miss any more time with them.

Not in a thousand lives could he have guessed what he'd see as soon as he exited the Floo.

The living room was lit with colourful moving lights, throwing glittering reflections everywhere. Music blasted through the room and, in the middle of it, were Teddy and Draco, giggling and laughing, their faces sweaty, while dancing to the tune. Well at least Harry thought it could be dancing, he wasn't exactly sure what else this bizarre hopping and shaking could be other than that.

He didn't dare to move as he watched the two of them swirling around the room. He felt as if he'd burst into a million tiny pieces just from watching them.

When the song ended they both crashed to the floor, giggling and breathing hard. Harry knew they'd see him any second so he moved towards the center of the room to join them on the floor.

“Harry!!” Teddy giggled excited. “We're dancing!”

“Yes, I saw you dancing,” Harry smiled while he pulled Teddy into a hug. “It looked like a lot of fun.”

“Draco said it'll be fun! He was right!”

Harry looked at Draco and found him grinning at him, cheeks red and hair a true mess and Harry felt the need to pull him into a tight hug as well. But he didn't know if Draco would be okay with it so he only smiled at him.

“Are you hungry, Uncle Harry? Uncle Draco made dinner but he said we have to wait for you because work is exhausting and people need food after work.”

At that Harry felt his smile slip and leave nothing else but honest surprise, “You didn't have to wait for me, Draco. You must be hungry, I'm very late today.”

Draco huffed and scooped Teddy from the ground so he didn't have to look into Harry's eyes. “It's decent to wait, and we had fun while doing so, no big deal.”

At that Draco's stomach grumbled loudly and Harry furrowed a brow at him and Teddy. This was by far the cutest thing ever and he didn't know what to do with his feelings anymore. “Let's go and eat. Seems like I'm not the only one hungry here.”

“Teddy go and wash your hands. And don't forget the soap this time!”

Teddy jumped up and ran to the bathroom upstairs and Harry smiled after him. He could get used to come home to something like this.

“Don't sit around and do nothing, help me up, Harry! I'm pretty sure I pulled fifteen muscles and broke myself three ribs while waiting for you.”

Harry laughed and stood up to pull Draco from the ground, “So you made dinner for us? What is it?”

“Lasagna, and Teddy helped so it wasn't only me.”

Harry stared at Draco who still refused to look at him. “You two made lasagna? And waited for me?”

“Yes. I know how tiring those meetings are so I thought it might be a nice surprise for you.”

Harry had no idea what to say, or how to say how much that meant to him. He suddenly didn't care if it was too much to hug Draco. He couldn't think if anything else to do to show him how much that meant to him.

Stepping forward he pulled Draco into a tight hug and got surprised as Draco hugged him back instantly.

“Thank you. I love it,” Harry whispered, refusing to let go of him.

“I did hope so, glad you came today,” Draco whispered back, his voice shaky. “And I was thinking—”

Before Draco could finish his sentence Teddy burst back into the room and stopped to stare at them with big eyes before he started to grin.

“Did Uncle Draco finally ask you out? We've planned this, you know?”

Harry froze to the spot and stared at Draco who he still held in his arms. His face was still red but Harry was sure it wasn't from dancing anymore. Instead of waiting for Draco to answer Harry grinned back at Teddy before looking back at Draco.

“Yes, he did. And we'll go out. Tomorrow. I'll pick you up at seven?”

“That should work,” Draco mumbled with a small grin on his face.

“Great! Now let's eat that lasagna, I'm starving!”

Letting go of Draco he took his hand and followed Teddy to the kitchen. He couldn't believe how fast a shit day could turn around to be just perfect.

DO OVER TO CORRECT AO3 LINKS *facepalm*

In less than 48 hours the first prompt for 25 Days of Draco and Harry - Traditional will post. (12 midnight EST on December 1st) Also, for those posting using the early-bird prompts, once the prompt for the day is posted - you can begin posting your fics for that day. While not required, it would be amazing if everyone would post to the 25 Days of Draco and Harry 2019 Collection on AO3 - as well as their preferred platform(s). You can do this easily by posting the work to your AO3 account and where it says post to collections start typing 25 Days... a list will come up and you simply need to select: 25 Days of Draco and Harry 2019 (25_Days_of_Drarry_2019) when you post it's included in the collection. Easy!! A hint for those of you writing one, big story is to click "this work has multiple chapters" when you make your first post. That way you can add a chapter to it each day and people can find it easily. Also, if you're doing 25 not related fics – click "this work is part of a series" and then title your series something like sassy_cissa's 2019 25 Days of D/H series or something that will uniquely identify it on AO3.   You can find more information HERE or find me via the social media platforms listed below.
