-First impressions of Erin would be as expected for him, he wouldn’t be as judgmental of her as he is of the other little nerds, but he’d be avoidant in the beginning. Though, after a while of trying to appear ignorant, he would eventually be forced to cave whenever they would hang out alongside Beatrice, giving Erin a couple mumbled ‘hi���s and nods of acknowledgment. (How social.)

-Overall I don’t think he would be critical, just awkward in the beginning. Marcus is a person who tries to make mental tabs on people, he wants to understand their personality before getting to actually know them, so he tries to watch how they interact. Which, from an outside perspective, either made him look like a creep, or a complete antisocial. Just imagine an evil scientist watching over a confused subject. I feel like it would make Erin feel awkward at first.

-Later on though, Marcus would like her personality. I think they’d be pretty similar. Once they got onto the topic of music, he’d happily ask her about her favorites, and ask if she played any instruments. Like an intellectual discussion between two nerds about music, I think that would be a bonding topic.

-He would write her small notes as a form of communication during study halls or just in the library. They’d be little sticky notes passed from Erin, Marcus, and Beatrice. I just thought of than and it made me happy so i added it…

-I think they’d openly trash talk a lot of people, mainly other nerds. Or, someone from their group could say something completely outrageous and Marcus would look over to her and shake his head. Afterwards, just imagine leaving an insane family function with your cousin and immediately debriefing about it when you reach the car. That would be it.

I have a quite large range of genres I enjoy reading so this was hard for me to just pick five 😭

His name was wren by rob winters

I read this book when I was visiting family and my cousin let me borrow it because I was bored, I honestly didn’t expect to fall in love with it like I did, I read the whole thing in 2 days, it’s part of a trilogy, the third one is still in progress of being written

The uglies series by Scott westerfeld

I was introduced to this series by my older sister, I was confused by seeing her so enthralled by these books because she’s never been much of a reader so I gave them a try and fell in love, it gave me a new perspective on how I veiw things

The dark matter series by Teri Terry , specifically the first one ‘contagion’

I have always had a love for dystopian, apocalyptic, science fiction books and this book did not disappoint! I have only read the first two out of the three and the first one is by far my favorite so far, i heavily recommend this series if you enjoy those type of genres

The golden hour by Margaret Wurtele

this book is very different then my other books, it’s a historical fiction, historical romance novel, it’s set in the summer of 1944 in Tuscany during world war 2. This was very different from books that I would normally read but as soon as I picked it up a finished it the same day, I read this book back in like 2014? And I have reread it multiple times since then.

And now to the last book, well books , it’s by far my favorite!

The hollow series by Jessica verday

this series is just beautifully done, my favorite will always be the first one ‘the hollow’ just because of how nostalgic it is for me. I read this book when I was young and I knew nothing about it, I didn’t read the description or nothing. So I was heavily surprised at everything as I read it. I learnt a lot of what I enjoy reading and writing from this series, and I will forever recommend it!! there is 509 pages and I read it in less than 24 hours, I rememberer being under my blanket with my flashlight as I read it all night long. I recommend this book the most!!

All I have to say is go read this right now!! I didn’t expect anything in the book to happen, it was one twist after another and I loved it, it’s a great book!

I’m rereading this and omg I really just geeked out about books 😭 haha I’m just really passionate about them! and I’m realizing that mostly all of these are just series, I had to refrain from putting the twilight and lord of the rings series in my top 5 even tho they are very high on my list! I’ve read so many books this was so hard so I picked the most impactful books for me ig :3

Michael John Harney is an American actor of film, television, and theater. He is best known for starring on the SAG Award-winning Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black as Corrections Officer Sam Healy. Very handsome with that gruff voice and accent, you just know this man knew how to talk dirty in bed. I didn’t notice him until he appeared in Orange is the New Black. So far I know absolutely nothing of his personal life. So he’s most likely straight, but that just means I can image my own personal life for him. Something like, he’s into chubs and flies in to see me on the weekends to have wild, hot sex. Yeah.. that sounds good.

Between Lines is a Poetic Thoughtful Animated Short by Sarah Beth Morgan

Between Lines is an animated short film created entirely by an all-women team, directed by the talented Sarah Beth Morgan. The story is about the scars created by bullying in high school and lifelong recovery of these memories. Puberty, growing up, and the discovery of self are traumatic enough to process. However when school dynamics and bullies added to the equation, teenage years might become a burden. Maybe because we saw many coming of age stories in feature films focusing on the troubles of growing up, adjusting to problems, dealing with uncertainties. There is no denying that bullying creates deep scar on people and they spend so much time on themselves to recover past traumas. The narrative in Between Lines follows a young woman's journey as she navigates isolation, exclusion and anxiety. Out of the trauma, blooms a sense of healing and connection. There is no single definitive way to make your peace with your past but either way the happiness and relief comes within.

Sarah Beth Morgan, a director and illustrator currently based in Cleveland, OH, United States, grew up in Saudi Arabia. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and had early career experiences at Scholar and Oddfellows in LA and Portland. Currently, Morgan works from her own studio in Cleveland. And as a personal impression, Morgan's work feels sincere, down-to-earth and approachable to manies. Her animations and illustrations are neat, humble and taking you to a polished, clean environment that could trigger a positive emotions instantly.

Between lines successfully completed its festival stint by getting recognition and awards from many organizations; including Brooklyn Film Festival – Audience Award for Animation, Pictoplasma Berlin – Official Selection, SCAD Savannah Film Festival – Official Selection for Global Shorts Forum. Sarah Beth Morgan's moving short animation made its online premiere on January 24, 2023. Though I discovered it late, I've come to realize that great works are timeless on the internet. HII!! I hope you're doing well - I just wanted to ask for oc interactions between your ocs and Erin (ofc you don't have to!!)

HAIII hello floort. hello ken. hello kensington . hello pete kowalski. I love erin...yay..

Bennie:

- Erin is a nerd and Bennie hangs out with the jocks. he knows he'll lose respect from the jocks if he were to ever get caught hanging out with her but. who gaf 😃 Bennie does not care about clique relationships

- Bennie loves scaring Erin. she'll be closing her locker and Bennie's there. Erin walks out of class and he's there. these would be their first interactions ever before they get along

- Bennie would ask her for homework answers 😓

- Erin is as tall as him. Bennie does feel a bit insecure but he likes that they're the same height. much easier to tackle her and get on her back

- you were so right about the guitar lessons......😆😆 for some reason Bennie is a good teacher. but Erin would only get the stiff basics on how to play a guitar before Bennie then starts talking about some other topic. they don't learn anything and now they have plans to go to France together

- the only music artist they have in common is just David Bowie. that does not refrain them from having the stupidest inside jokes ever that Bennie would say out loud in public while they're together and no one understands him

- Bennie is dumb so there are multiple occasionally where Erin corrects him. he doesn't mind but he always forgets what she teaches him and. well. Erin has to get tired of him someday

- I think Erin would sometimes ask advice from him. whether it's about socializing or how to be cool. Bennie gives the worst advice ever 😞

- they are SO silly 😁 I think they tease each other a lot

Yuudai:

- Yuudai thinks she's a loser...LOL but he thinks she's one of the better losers in the nerds clique. the fact that Erin has a resting bitch face has somewhat earned Yuudai's respect. she's the only nerd he likes

- they are both good at math but Yuudai is jealous of Erin because her grades are better 😞 but when Yuudai gets lazy with his assignments, Erin would be the first person he asks for answers. and he doesn't even ask nicely....

- when Erin does give him homework answers Yuudai would leave with a begrudged 'thanks'. then he'll think about it for a few days and pay her back by helping her in shop class. and that concludes their first interaction EVER .😎

- they are both socially awkward so I don't think they'd interact much... Yuudai doesn't know how to talk to both nerds AND girls

- the only times they'll interact is when Yuudai sees Erin watching other people in gym class. gym class is fun....why aren't you joining....👿

Erin is one of the few nerd ocs I've ran into on this side of the fandom so I'd be interested to know what she would think of Crow?

OHH HELLO!! I LOVE YOUR CONTENT AGJGHGH CROW IS SO COOL,, also yeah - I swear it feels like no one makes any nerd ocs anymore, I only see like one or two from time to time HSJDHSJFJFG

ANYWAY onto the actual answer,, Erin would respect Crow. He has good business ethics in her opinion, though she doesn't like the fact that he smokes and helps others cheat.

I don't think that would stop her from coming to him, though. The only reason she would is to hide a bad grade (she prides herself on her grades so seeing anything below a B+ bruises her ego so bad), but then she gets nervous that he'll start telling people about their little arrangement so she tries to help him in anyway she can in order to keep him quiet (I doubt he'd even gaf but Erin doesn't consider such a possibility HSJSHSJFJFJGH)

Bealtaine is almost here!

Bealtaine (bee-YAL-tin-eh) is the ancient Irish fire festival that starts the night of April 30th- Oíche Bealtaine- and is celebrated May 1- Lá Bealtaine (though festivities can last longer). Bealtaine marks the beginning of summer. In modern Irish Catholic tradition, May is celebrated as the month of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

On May Eve the Druids lit the great sacred fire at Tara and as the signal flames rose up high in the air and then a fire is to kindled on every hill in Erin; till the whole island is on fire with fires.

A similar tradition has been revived at the Hill of Uisneach.

Having a bonfire and spreading the light from that central point would be a great way to honor the sacredness of fire and celebrate Bealtaine.

Back then, people would also guide their cattle through two bonfires at Bealtaine, to cleanse and bless them for good health and abundance. Speaking of cattle...

Protecting Cattle

The people also tie a piece of red cloth on each cows' tail. This they tie on in the morning before letting them out. They do this to prevent the fairies from taking the cow's milk. Sometimes they tie a horse-shoe-nail or "táirgne crúth" in the cow's tails

On May Eve now people sprinkle Easter water on all the crops, cattle etc. and on the boundary fence. Perhaps this is apart from it's religious aspect a survival of the old dread of 'pishogues' when people dreaded harm to their crops and cattle.

Yellow Flowers- Festive Protection

In years gone by the people used to throw a primrose in the byre door so that the fairies would not take away the milk from the cows for the year. It was at May eve that they threw this primrose in the byre door.

It is the custom for children to pick May flowers or Marsh marigolds on the last evening in April. These they throw on the doorstep or on the windowsill.

May Day Dew

It is also said that if you get up early on that morning and wash your face with the dew on the grass you will be healthy during the year.

Baneful Butter Stealing

Long ago, on May morning, lots of old woman went out in the morning before the sun arose and swept the dew of the grass by pulling a long rope after them and calling, "Come all to me, come all to me.” This was a kind of witchcraft, taking away butter of other people’s milk.

It is also believed if one goes out early and milks the neighbour's cow, they will be able to get all the butter from that cow's milk so they will have double the supply while their neighbour will not get any.

Long ago on May morning some people used pull three ribs from the cow's tail and take clay from her hoofs and bring it home. Then that person would have butter from the cows she did this to and the person to whom the cows belonged would have none after churning.

Some women used get a twig of mountain ash and put it under the churn on May Day and so get all the butter from her neighbours churn, on condition that she said she wanted the butter from her neighbours churn while making her own.

While I don't condone butter theft, Bealtaine seems to be the right time to do it. Let's look at another way to celebrate!

The May Bush

On May day morning, children get a small haw-thorn bush or at least a branch of one on which there is haw-thorn in bloom. On this bush they tie all kinds of coloured ribbons, papers, tinsel or other decorations left after the Xmas decorations till it is a gorgeous sight.

While hawthorn is the traditional tree chosen for the May bush, it's important to remember that the Irish tradition states to never ever bring hawthorn indoors.

This quote's sort of a miscellaneous one, but I thought it was interesting.

On May Night long ago the people used to leave a cake and a jug of milk on the table because they thought the Irish who were buried in America and other countries used come home on that night and visit their own home. Another old custom was to leave the doors unlocked that night. They considered it unlucky to give butter or milk way to any person on May Day as they would be giving away their luck. No stables were to be cleaned out on that day. The first person to go to the well in the morning was supposed to have luck for the rest of the year. It is not right to give money to anyone on that day. But if you get money on that day you will be getting it for the year."

An incredibly common tradition I saw while scrolling through dúchas (I really recommend you do it yourself! They have everything!) was that milk, coals, salt, money, or really anything isn't to be given away at Bealtaine, or you'll lose something for yourself. Something supernatural about Bealtaine surpasses the Irish tradition of hospitality. This to me really highlights a theme of abundance. Welp, that's all I have for now!
