Addressing the Toughest Surface Damage Problems
Traditional repair methods are often not preferable when tackling significant surface wear and tear. These repairs, whether made by friction, impacts or corrosive elements, can be the reason for the failure of critical structures. Finding an advanced solution is important to deal with these extreme issues. High-performance repair options are essential to restore and maintain the durability of affected areas, and choosing the best epoxy manufacturer for this is crucial for achieving optimal results. Metal-filled epoxies are a strong solution to such problems and enhance the surface resilience to optimum. Addressing Cracks Cracks in any surface can become the source of the most severe structural problems that directly influence the functionality and safety of the structure. Conventional patching methods usually do not give the required long-lasting result, especially in high-stress environments. Metal-filled epoxies, particularly metal patch and fill compound, offer a high-tech solution by creating a durable bond that effectively fills and seals cracks. Their composition guarantees that the repaired area will be able to bear the expected load and, thus, will not lose its strength over time. Combating Corrosion Corrosion can damage any metal surface by gradual degradation that may lead to its failure. Even in such cases, conventional coatings or treatments cannot adequately resist the continued corrosive attacks. In such cases, metal-filled epoxies are an effective solution that offers an efficient barrier against corrosive agents. Their advanced properties contribute to avoiding further damage and maintaining the full structural integrity of the metal component. By applying these epoxies, one can achieve a long-lasting shield against corrosion, extending the lifespan of critical assets. Repairing Broken Parts If the broken parts are not repaired correctly, they lead to costly downtime and disrupt operations. Most repair methods will fail to return these components to their original strength and functionality, does not prove reliable in such cases, and also will not restoredurability. Metal-filled epoxies' ability to bond strongly with the damaged surfaces ensures an advanced repair that can handle the stresses much more effectively. This approach not only regains the part's functionality but also prevents future damage, providing a more reliable and durable solution. About ITW Performance Polymers ITW Performance Polymers specializes in advanced epoxy solutions, providing top-tier concrete epoxy adhesive, among other high-performance products. Special Topic on the Application of Epoxy Resin in the Construction Field: Xiaolangdi Project
The application of epoxy resin in construction mainly includes the following aspects: first, floor coating, second, building anti-corrosion, and third, structural reinforcement.
Regarding floor coatings, the most commonly used film-forming material is synthetic resin materials represented by epoxy resin; coatings are generally divided into solvent-free, solvent-based and water-soluble types. Solvent-based systems have shortcomings such as solvent volatilization, low paint viscosity, low solid content, thin primary film, and easy color floating during construction. The film-forming material has weak impact resistance. Since the solvent-free system does not contain inactive solvents, the solid content can be adjusted to nearly 100%, the film thickness can be formed at one time, and Bernard's nests and floating colors will not occur during construction. Water-soluble clean and wear-resistant floor coating has good adhesion to wet base surfaces.
On the construction of corrosion prevention, due to acid, alkali, salt and organic solvents and other media, building materials produce different degrees, all kinds of physical and chemical damage, this corrosion process is generally slow, short-term consequences do not show, once the harm is quite serious. In the construction project epoxy resin anti-corrosion, commonly used materials and products including resin cement, resin mortar, glass fibre reinforced plastic and resin glass scales. Resin mastic, resin mortar and resin glass scale, is to resin for binder add hardener, toughening agent (some materials need to add accelerator or diluent), and powder, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and after treatment of glass scale formulated.
On the structure strengthening, concrete and reinforced concrete structure use process, often due to various factors suffered different damage, affecting the service life of various buildings after many years of use, most of them will have a different degree of damage, the need for maintenance and repair. Epoxy resin made of epoxy adhesive superior performance, more modification pathway, more for the bonding of concrete components, and repair, bridge engineering, airstrips, highway repair, concrete structure crack reinforcement reinforcement or seepage plugging grouting, and so on.
Causes and prevention of cracks in high-grade concrete in Xiaolangdi flood release project
Xiaolangdi Water Conservancy Hub Project is located 40km north of Luoyang City, Henan Province, at the exit of the last section of the canyon in the middle reaches of Yellow River. It is 130km away from Sanmenxia Water Conservancy Hub and 128km away from Huayuankou, with a total reservoir capacity of 12.65 billion m3, of which the effective capacity is 5.1 billion m3. The main task of the hub is to focus on flood control, bulging prevention, silt reduction, taking into account water supply, irrigation and power generation, storing and clearing up and draining the muddy water, removing hazards and improving benefits, and making comprehensive use of the water. The flood relief project of Xiaolangdi mainly includes: inlet diversion channel, inlet tower composed of 10 towers with different functions, 3 orifice plate (inflow) holes, 3 open-flow flood relief holes, 3 sand discharge holes, 1 normal spillway, outlet dissipation pond and relief channel, tail water nullah. C70 high grade silica fume concrete with good cavitation and abrasion resistance is used in the body section below the gate chamber of the 3 orifice plate (inflow) holes, the open flow section of the 3 sand discharge holes, the 3 open flow holes and the spillway.
Concrete with a label below 40MPa is commonly used in our country and has rich construction experience and research results. However, the use of 70MPa concrete in large volumes and on a large scale is still rare in our country's water conservancy projects. During the construction process of C70 high-grade silica fume concrete in the section below the sluice chamber of the Xiaolangdi orifice (diversion) tunnel, the open flow section of the sand drainage tunnel, the open flow tunnel and the spillway, cracks of varying degrees appeared in the concrete. The crack width is generally 0.4~0.8mm, the maximum width is 2mm, and the average crack length is 4m.
Causes of cracks in high-strength concrete
1. Analysis of early cracks Early cracks in concrete are mainly related to the internal and external temperature difference caused by cement hydration heat and the internal and external humidity difference caused by drying (especially after formwork removal). After concrete is poured, the temperature rises rapidly due to the heat of cement hydration. In addition, the thermal conductivity of concrete is very poor, resulting in a temperature difference between the inside and outside of the concrete. Due to the thermal expansion and contraction of the material, internal pressure and external tension are caused. When the tensile strength of the concrete at this time is less than the external temperature tensile stress, cracks will appear. Cracks have appeared in some parts when the formwork is removed (about 2 to 3 days old), and in some parts cracks appear within 1 to 2 days after the formwork is removed. There will generally be no cracks before the formwork is removed. From the on-site construction situation, it was found that cracks appeared when the formwork was removed. Most of them were due to the use of concrete pumps to increase the amount of cement, or the extremely cold weather after pouring and the failure to perform winter insulation well, or the above two factors were present at the same time. At this time, the temperature difference between the inner and outer surfaces of the concrete during the heating process is greater than 12°C, so cracks have already occurred in the concrete when the formwork is removed. Cracks were found on the 54th piece of concrete on the left wall of No. 3 Mingliu Cave when the formwork was removed.
When the concrete is without any protection after the formwork is removed, it is calculated that the cooling gradient on the surface of C70 concrete is the steepest on the first day after the formwork is removed, generally reaching about 12 to 20°C. According to calculation and analysis results, the temperature stress generated when the surface temperature drops by 10°C in one day is enough to pull the concrete surface apart. Actual statistics show that effective protection measures were not taken for the concrete after the formwork was removed. When encountering low temperatures, the surface temperature of the concrete drops suddenly, causing greater temperature changes and making the tensile stress on the surface of the concrete greater. In this way, surface cracks will appear in the concrete within 1 to 2 days after the formwork is removed. No cracks were found in the F layer (layer height 3m) of the WL-510K block on the left wall of the spillway when the formwork was removed. No protection was provided after the formwork was removed. Three vertical through cracks were found on the second day after the formwork was removed. Early concrete cracks are generally surface cracks with uncertain directions and large quantities. According to on-site statistics, this type of cracks accounts for 69% of the total.
2. Analysis of late-stage cracks Late-stage cracks in concrete are mainly caused by foundation temperature differences and are related to factors such as construction block size, concrete elastic modulus/bedrock elastic modulus and other factors. For a concrete floor or side wall with a thickness of 1 to 2 meters, when the temperature of the concrete block drops from the highest to the lowest (or stable temperature), a large tensile stress will be generated due to the strong constraints of the bedrock. If the foundation temperature difference is large or the block size is large, the tensile stress generated is greater than the tensile strength of the concrete, and cracks will occur in the concrete.
On pouring blocks without early cracks, later cracks generally appear in the middle of the pouring block, while in pouring blocks with early cracks, late cracks only continue to elongate and deepen on the existing cracks. Due to the strong basic binding force formed by the floor and surrounding rock, the resulting cracks are deep cracks and penetrating cracks. These types of cracks are less numerous but are the most harmful. According to on-site statistics, this type of cracks accounts for 31% of the total.
The Xiaolangdi flood discharge project uses C70 high-grade silica fume concrete, and the probability of various types of cracks is higher than that of C40 and below concrete parts. Judging from the time of crack generation, there are mostly early cracks. Judging from the types of surface cracks, deep cracks, and penetrating cracks, C70 high-grade silica fume concrete has more deep cracks and penetrating cracks than concrete below C40. By analyzing the causes of early cracks and late cracks, effective preventive measures were taken, and the implementation of these measures achieved good results in preventing the formation of cracks. According to the requirements of technical specifications, all cracks with a width greater than 0.5mm or a length greater than 1.5m should be treated. Xiaolangdi uses epoxy resin grouting and ultra-fine cement grouting to treat cracks. These two methods are mature and the compressive strength after treatment meets the design requirements. In order to avoid and reduce cracks in high-strength concrete, optimizing the mix design and developing "shrinkage-compensating concrete" are new topics in the civil engineering materials discipline.

What is Epoxy Tile joint filling?
Epoxy grout is a very strong, exceedingly durable and chemically-resistant material that can last a lifetime. It is non-porous and discourages the growth of mould or mildew. This makes Epoxy grout highly suitable for areas like bathrooms, kitchens,Terrace,Parking and also using heavy duty epoxy for Parking which are prone to damage by sunlight, water and abrasion.

Glues! You might not be aware of it, but adhesives rule the world around you. No matter what two objects you want to stick together, some egghead in a chemistry lab has worked out an elaborate concoction that will do so. Now you just need to figure out which one it is, and also read some instructions for the first time in your life.
I've never liked glues, probably because of the aforementioned "read the instructions" thing. They either set too fast or not at all, and they make a sticky mess when you knock them over onto your precariously-balanced workbench full of other failed projects. For me, the correct fastener was a bolt, or a rivet, or if you put a gun to my head some kind of stupid finger-pinching clippy thing that would work twice and then break forever.
Nowadays, things are going in a different direction. Fasteners vibrate and come loose. Bolts would rather not stay bolted, if it's all the same to you, pip pip cheerio, sorry about your axle there chap. They also cost money, which bosses don't like. So, automakers and engineers use more glues. Glob goes here, then job goes here. This means that, whenever something else they make breaks, you're going to be spending all afternoon slowly heating up and forcing apart some sticky mess. As a cool bonus, it will also fill your work area with deadly fumes.
What finally turned me in favour of glue? The local autobody shop had to throw out a whole bunch of autobody epoxy. This stuff is hyper-sticky, meant to glue whole cars together. All I had to do was pour it into their dumpster, and then back my rusty shitbox of a daily driver in there. Sealed up all the rust holes, and probably permanently entombed some of the trunk mice in there as well. No more wet feet! No more poop in the glovebox!
Sure, when it comes time to change the rear tires, it's going to kinda suck to get them off the wheel. Hey, wait, when they pop a hole in them I can probably just fill them up with glue too! What idiot ever thought to put air in tires in the first place? Get with the modern era of industrial adhesives, suckers.

Wellllllll…… I just read one Rec from someone and holy. Stepdad Rick isn’t my thing but still hot. I was thinking what if it was Shane instead. Or Daryl. Sneaking around behind Rick’s back. But ugh, Rick is so hot tho. Decisions decisions. More like Dad’s best friend maybe?
now that’s hot as hell. Idk who Dad would be but best friend trope could work for any combination possible I would think (all of them!? 🙈 short of a orgy, I can’t see either Dixon putting up with Shane even for something like that but hey)
been thinking about this every hour since it appeared in my inbox… (Shane is my guilty pleasure fr. would let him do disgusting things to me)
I think I’m seeing your vision… lemme know what you think💗
PICK YOUR POISON
(Rick & Shane & Daryl x fem!reader)
warnings- 18+, smut, alcohol consumption, smoking, references of sex, multiple partners, the boys are kinda pervs but it’s ok cause ur legal and this is fiction <3 2.1k word count
You open the door to the garage and make your way down the stairs. Not even bothering to slip any shoes on. Your mom keeps the epoxy floors absolutely pristine, so theres really no reason. Plus, your toenail polish is still a little tacky. Bright, bubble gum pink polish and a silver toe ring adorning your foot. The smell of liquor and smoke has filled the garage. Accompanied by the deep, rugged voices and dry laughs coming from your fathers closest friends.
“You know mom hates it when you smoke in the house.” You say all matter of fact, leaning up against the bar-tops, marble counter. You can feel your tank top strap slipping down your shoulder. But the animalistic looks coming from your dads three closest friends, force you to let it drop. To let them see.
Your father puts his cigarette out in the ash tray on the bar. Rolling his eyes at you. “Well good thing we’re in the garage then.”
You ignore his attitude.
“Mom needs you.”
“For what?”
“To drop her off at Cindy’s.”
He seems irritated. But all five of you can hear the rain. There’s no way any half decent husband should let his wife walk to her monthly book club meeting in this weather.
“Just- keep your mouth shut about the smokes. And grab everyone another drink. Make sure they don’t burn the place down while I’m gone.” You father jokes, ruffling up Daryl’s hair on his way to the door, grabbing his jacket and keys.
You wave an innocent goodbye as you watch him through the garage door windows, backing out of the driveway. Your mother in the passenger seat, smiling sweetly at you.
“Well… whatcha drinkin’?” You ask Rick, who’s sat in the middle. Glass empty, with a lone, melting ice cube clinking around in the bottom.
“Rum and coke.” He answers, licking his lips.
“Spiced?” You ask. A flirty smile playing on your face as you bite your bottom lip.
They’re all staring. Jaws clenched and breathing slowly.
You know what you’re doing. You can tell by the way they’re all looking at you. You can practically see the wheels turning in their brains.
They shouldn’t be thinking this way about their friends daughter. About their best friends little girl. Well… not so little anymore. You’d just turned 21. Hell, they were at the party. Giving you the exact same looks they’re giving you right now.
The ones they definitely shouldn’t be.
But they are.
They’re thinking about your thin, frilly, pyjama shorts, and how they can see the purple g string pulled up over your hips. How they can see your belly ring through the fabric of your tank top, and imagining what it would feel like against their lips as they kiss their way down your stomach. And you know they’re thinking about bending you over the bar counter and taking turns at fucking you until they hear the sound of your dads diesel pulling into the driveway. How you’d have to play pretend for your father, ignoring the fact that your panties are soaking through with three different men’s cum, and maybe even a mix of your own. The salty liquids threatening to drip down your inner thigh as you politely excuse yourself from the garage. Coming up with any bullshit excuse to go lay on your bed and rub your clit until you’re seeing stars. Imagining each of their faces in between your legs, spreading you open and eating you up.
You know they’re thinking it, because you are too. It’s the only thing you can think about in this moment, while pouring Rick a double spiced rum and coke. Taking a sip and then handing it him. Making sure your fingers touch.
When you turn to ask Shane what he wants, he gets up. Insisting that you won’t know how to make an old fashioned. You only just turned 21 after all. You probably haven’t even had one before.
But he’s wrong. They’re your dads favourite and you’d been making them for him since you were 16. But you didn’t tell Shane that. Instead you let him walk around the bar, come up behind you and press himself against your back. Letting a tiny gasp escape at the feeling of his, very hard, cock pressing into your bum. Pushing you even further against the counter. His chest is warm against you. And his hands are big and calloused as he guides your own, pouring the perfect amount of bitters, simple syrup and bourbon over a huge, king sized ice cube that he’d retrieved from the freezer.
Finally, taking a slice of orange, meticulously cut up and organized in little containers on the bar top. It was something your mother was always very fond of; organizing the liquors and the garnishes, ensuring that your father could host a proper poker night or barbecue. Or whatever the fuck they stayed up all night doing in their little man cave. Not knowing that you were upstairs, awake and playing with your favourite vibrator, listening to their rock music through your bedroom floor.
“And then you twist it, like this…” Shane’s lips are actually brushing your ear. And you don’t mean to, but your eyes flutter shut at the feeling. His free hand moves to your waist as he tosses the orange peel in the drink, lifting it up and bringing the cold glass to your lips.
“Try it.” He says. And though you can’t see him because he’s still behind you, you can hear the smirk in his voice.
You take a sip. A small one. Immediately scrunching your face at the two men still sitting across you. Their lips curl into an amused smile as they watch you swallow the amber liquid.
“Not my favourite.” You whisper as Shane leans back. Only for a second before he’s turned you around and trapped you once more, back to the bar this time.
“Well we did forget one thing,” He says, reaching over to a jar on the counter. Maraschino cherries. Your favourite.
“And I know how much you like these.” He teases, referring to all the cherries he caught you adding to your piña coladas at a neighbors pool party only a couple weeks ago.
He dips a single cherry in the drink. Taking it by the stem and lifting it to your mouth. You don’t hesitate in wrapping your lips around it. The bitter taste of the bourbon on the fruit doesn’t last long. A sweet, sugary syrup bleeds over your tastebuds as you bite into the cherry. And a moan manages to escape your throat. It’s quiet. You think maybe it was subtle enough to go unnoticed. But the smile on Shane’s lips and the dry laugh coming from behind you, tell you that it didn’t.
Shane is still pushed up against you, cock strained in his jeans and pressed right against your stomach. His hand gripping your hip and forcing you to stay against the counter. And the way he’s looking down at you. Fuck, the way they’re all looking at you. Watching you start to squirm under their gaze.
“It’s good.” You swallow. Trying to maintain a confident, big girl attitude. But truthfully, you just want them to peel your clothes off, and let you melt into their arms as you cum all over their cocks.
“Daryl’s drink is still empty, sweetheart.” Rick’s gravelly voice pulls you back.
“Right.”
Shane gives your hip one last squeeze before he walks back to his barstool. Next to Rick. They cheers quietly and sip on their drinks. Watching intently as you try to compose yourself.
“What’s your poison?” You turn to the last man, lighting what was probably his second or third cigarette of the night. Glancing up at you and taking a draw. Slowly inhaling and exhaling. And though your mother was not a fan, you fucking loved it. You wanted to crawl onto his lap and have him blow the smoke right between your lips as you rode his cock, letting the other two men watch and touch themselves to the sight of you getting off on another guy.
But you didn’t.
“Just a beer, sunshine.” He pushes his empty glass forward for you. You grab it and put it in the dishwasher. Grabbing a brand new, frosted mug from the freezer.
“Which one?”
“Bud’s fine.”
You grab a bottle and skillfully pour it into the mug, coming around the bar this time to hand it to him. Intentionally placing yourself between him and Rick, reaching over and setting the glass in front of him.
To no one’s surprise, you feel a warm hand on the small of your back. Rick’s fingers tracing dangerously close to the thin band of your panties.
“Those are really bad for you, y’know.”
You get bold again. Stepping onto the foot rest of Rick’s barstool, and taking a seat right on his lap. The hand on your back only helping guide you on to him. Quickly finding its way around your waist as you make yourself comfortable.
Daryl only grunts. Hiding a smile at your silly comment. He’d seen you smoke. Hell, he’d snuck out of multiple dinner parties to have one with you.
“You gonna share?” You ask.
Hesitantly he hands it over, and you take it with two fingers. Taking a long drag in and then turning to face Rick again, before you slowly exhale. Trying to focus the smoke onto his lips more than anything.
“What the hell would your father think if he could see you right now?” Shane asks, leaning back in his chair and palming the hard on, still evident in his jeans.
“Think he’d probably try and beat you’re asses.” You say. And while you’re answering Shane, your focus is solely on Rick. The scruff on his face. His bright blue eyes, taunting you and begging you to lean in. Just an inch closer so that he can catch your lips.
“Think he’d win?” Rick asks, glancing down at your own lips.
“Not a chance.” You smile.
He closes the space between you, and you taste rum on the tongue that traces yours. Rick’s hand going to the back of your neck, deepening the kiss as you blindly try to put the cigarette out on the ashtray. You start to move. Trying to maneuver your position so that you’d have a leg on either side of him, straddling his very apparent bulge. But right as you start to moan against his mouth, you hear the truck pull up and park. Practically jumping off of Rick and standing in between him and Daryl’s barstools. Fixing your hair as the heat rises to your cheeks. The men chuckle at your flustered appearance. Waiting for their friend to enter through the side door of the garage.
“Hi dad.” You say, smiling politely and pulling your tank top down to cover the strip of skin visible where it had previously rode up.
“Hey, hun. Glad to see they weren’t too much trouble for ya.” You father aproaches and slaps a hand on Shane’s back. Sitting down next to him and grabbing the pack of smokes from his jacket pocket.
“Y’wannanother drink, daddy?” You ask. Daryl clears his throat. And you see Ricks eyes go wide as Shane tries to hide his smile.
“Please. Old fashioned, darling. Y’want some of that pink stuff we found last week? Bubbly… something or other. It’s in the fridge.”
You watch Shane the whole time that you make the old fashioned. Clearly showing him that you knew exactly how your dad liked it. Carefully placing the cocktail on the counter in front of them.
“Thanks doll.” Your dad says, continuing to smoke his cigarette. Reaching over the counter and handing one to Rick who lights it. Watching you the whole time. Tendrils of smoke, floating up to the ceiling of the garage. You turn around. Bending over and being sure to stay searching for the bottle of rosé about thirty seconds longer than you really needed to. You pour a glass as the men discuss what the next move was. What they should do for the night. Considering it’s still a work night, and they all have a supply run pretty early in the morning.
“You wanna play some cards, sweetie?” Your dad asks. You scrunch your nose at him, taking a nice long sip of your sparkling wine.
“What? You got somewhere better to be?” Shane teases.
You huff a semi-annoyed breath, looking around for a spare stool. Even though you already knew there were only 4. Ricks eyes glimmer as he pats his left thigh, inviting you back on.
To your surprise, your dad pays you no mind, already starting to shuffle the deck of cards as you hesitantly take your seat back on top of Rick. Loving the way his hand curls around your thighs and tugs you even further on top of him. And the the way that Shane looks a little jealous that he hadn’t offered first. And you’re especially loving the way Daryl shifts on his stool just the tiniest bit closer, so that his leg grazes yours every now and then.
“All right, here’s the rules…” You hear your dad starts to explain, already dealing you each some cards. But you don’t hear him. You don’t even look in his direction. You’re way too focused on the taste of Rick that lingers on your lips, and the way your clit is actually fucking pulsing. Begging for attention. And truthfully, your mind can’t help but wander, thinking about what might have happened if your dad had taken any longer to get back home.

Hi! Absolutely beautiful job on that bronze Spalding!! I've seen a fair bit of taxidermy work on peafowl, and that guy blows everyone else outta the water easily. The face is especially well done. I wanted to ask- did you use a crafted base or the actual skull in some way? Same for the legs- I've seen so many bad face and leg jobs and yours were both so nice!
Thanks for asking!
The actual skull was used. The eyes are removed, cleaned, filled with clay. Then the acrylic eyes are set in the real emptied eyeballs. Those eyeballs are set into the skull with clay. The "brow" ridge and other features are rebuilt with clay under the skin.
The real legs were skinned down to the first knuckle and stripped of flesh and tendons. My wires are attached, then everything I removed is added back with epoxy clay. The scaley leg skin is sewn back up and left to dry. I then hide the stitches by blending epoxy clay over them to match the texture of the leg. Then they are painted.

AN ECCENTRIC'S ENTROPY ୨♡୧
PAIRING: (Dr Ratio x Professor! Reader)
WARNINGS: Suggestive
SYNOPSIS: For people who get into each other's pants a lot, you sure do know how to piss each other off...
WORD COUNT: 1k
Divider by @/cafekitsune
Entropy: The measure of the degree of disorder within a substance
“Will you stop your incessant whining?” Dr. Veritas Ratio groans, “I’d have thought spending more time with me would have caused your IQ to surpass at least a vegetable.” You roll your eyes and slam your new research paper down on your colleague's desk.
“If you didn’t want to be surrounded by idiots, you shouldn’t have decided to teach at a university. Even if Stellaron University is prestigious, you’re still teaching barely adults.” You sigh with faux pity. “But I guess you didn’t think that far, poor Dr. Ratio.” Mockingly, you pet his head, the silky locks of violet slipping through your fingers as he grabs your wrist and forces it back on the desk.
“I’m not reading your paper.” He shakes his head, brows furrowed and a scoff leaves his lips. Even though he looks up at you from his desk, the way he reclines on his chair so casually makes you feel small. It has always been like this. Veritas and his obnoxious attitude driving you up the walls. A prodigy yourself, the pursuit of knowledge has never been a struggle to you. Yes, it was challenging, but that was part of the fun. The thrill of tearing apart a formula and sinking your teeth in until it churns out a set of numbers that you like. This allowed you to be the top professor at Stellaron for almost three years straight, until Veritas. Veritas, who opposes almost everything that you do, from the way you prefer to use a whiteboard and pen and him a blackboard and chalk. The way your coffee is dark and his is sweetened with milk and sugar to the point it doesn’t even look like coffee anymore. You didn’t have a problem with this until he published a scientific paper which had quoted your own paper published a month prior, and pointed out how it was not mathematically viable. You still remember the smirk he wore on his face when he emailed you the manuscript for peer review, the audacity of this man to ask you to proofread the very paper he dedicated hours to just to prove your own wrong!
Naturally, your response is to ask him to do the same. But not with one email, but with twenty scheduled emails every other day. Sometimes, you like to add little emojis to the subject of your emails, and other times you embed links into the email that isn’t your paper, but wikihow articles. This pettiness has caused many encounters with him, some ending rather… intimately.
Of course, Veritas has not proofread your paper, and you don’t expect him to, so he has no idea how much you’ve referenced his paper and disproved it. But you know how much it ticks him off regardless, the urge to tear through each of your arguments, even if logically speaking, arguing with you is a waste of time. This degree of disorder is what drives him crazy. You sew chaos into his life as he does to yours, and as the entropy of a heating substance increases the entropy of its surroundings, so too does the tension-filled competitiveness from one of you, causes the other to maniacally lust to overpower the other.
“Come on, read it. I know you want to.” You slide the paper closer to him, your hands sliding across the epoxy finish of the oak desk. “Unless… You’re scared I’m right.” He stares up at you with eyes the same hue of gold as the award trophies that line the shelves of his classroom, and cocks a brow. He stands up, leaning over the desk and moving his face closer to yours. His cologne almost overpowers your perfume, the musky scent of pinewood and berries he reserves for winter mixing with your vanilla scented perfume, and it sends you into overdrive.
“Oh? I think someone is too overconfident.” He remarks. You’ve noticed that there’s always something up his sleeve, something that he uses at the last minute to defeat you, but you’re getting better at recognising his patterns. And the way his deep voice becomes breathier, softer, akin to a snake’s sinister hiss, you understand that you’ve gotten under his skin.
“You don’t think enough, Veritas, that’s your writing skills are bare bones and your papers hard to understand.”
“Shut that mouth of yours.” He grits his teeth further, finally sitting on the edge of his desk and flipping over your paper. You let out a small laugh and sit at his chair. He looks down at you disapprovingly as you do so, but you pay no mind to the fact you’ve sat yourself down on his throne, because your paper will definitely take him down a peg or two.
“In your bibliography, you spelt ‘accessed’ on your third source wrong.” He points out, taking a red pen from his desk and removing the cap with his teeth, circling the typo as you burn with humiliation. “Oh my, your spacing for the first page and last page are different. How irritating it must be for your readers to be accustomed to one layout and then switch to another.”
“It is just spacing, Veritas.”
“It’s more than that, dear, people like some organisation in their scientific papers. And your way of writing is chaotic! I should have known just by your handwriting and layout in sums.” He tuts, petting your head in faux pity just as you did to him seconds ago.
“Read the damn paper, Dr. Ratio.” You grit your teeth, now irritated that you’ve dedicated hours and hours bashing him in the footnotes, researching just so he can get a taste of his own medicine, for you to be corrected on your formatting.
“Patience.” There is something downright Dionysean about his voice, if it were a colour, it would be the seductive shade of red wine, and just as addictive. Addictive like the many times where you two have come too close for comfort, like the one time you two were locked in the storage closet together, and you felt his strong arms encase your body as he helped you push the door open from behind. Or this one time at a work event where he made fun of your table manners and swiped ice cream off of your lips to prove his point. It made you feel red hot, just like the colour of his voice, and the way he acts too hot around you, too excitable. And you wanted more. To make a man who is cold and reserved morph into a competitive beast raring to go and one up you at every turn is no small feat. The dichotomy makes your head spin, and this side of him only you know wants to make you explore him more. And you know just from the way he cocks his head and slides off the desk, that he’s switching from sub-zero aloofness to scorching hot opposition.
He grabs the arms of the chair you sit in to push it so far it hits the wall so you are cornered against the blackboard.
“Actually.” He muses, tilting your head up and sliding your hair to one side. “I want you to read it.” He whispers, breath hot against your ear. “Read it, and I’ll give you,” he encircles your waist with one hand, “appropriate feedback.”
He hands you the manuscript, and kisses your neck softly. His other hand, now free, unzips your skirt and you gasp as his fingers venture between your legs.
“Start reading. You’re good at running your mouth, aren’t you? Let’s see how long that attitude lasts…”

Addressing Cracks
Cracks in any surface can become the source of the most severe structural problems that directly influence the functionality and safety of the structure.
Combating Corrosion
Corrosion can damage any metal surface by gradual degradation that may lead to its failure.
Repairing Broken Parts
If the broken parts are not repaired correctly, they lead to costly downtime and disrupt operations. Most repair methods will fail to return these components to their original strength and functionality, does not prove reliable in such cases, and also will not restore durability. Metal-filled epoxies' ability to bond strongly with the damaged surfaces ensures an advanced repair that can handle the stresses much more effectively. This approach not only regains the part's functionality but also prevents future damage, providing a more reliable and durable solution.

DS9 trivia from IMDB - Part 1
- Colm Meaney was initially reluctant about signing onto the series. Meaney was comfortable playing O'Brien on an episode by episode basis for Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), and at the time, was unsure if he wanted to play a full time television role.
- Although we only rarely see it, there is an ATM in Quark's bar. It dispenses the various types of currency used by major races visiting the station: Federation credits, Bajoran litas, Cardassian leks, and Ferengi latinum.
- Constable Odo was originally envisioned as a young Clint Eastwood type. When Rene Auberjonois was called in for his audition, the casting director told him that none of the previous actors had been "grouchy enough". So Auberjonois improvised his lines using his most gravelly voice, and secured the role. Odo's scoff eventually became such a character trademark that the screenwriters would often script it into his lines (as "harrumph!"), much to Auberjonois' annoyance.
- Michael Dorn did not want to reprise his role as Worf, since the daily make-up application was exhausting, and he was relieved to be able to move on. Dorn said that the salary he was offered made him reconsider.
- The Dominion storyline was originally only meant to span two episodes. Ronald D. Moore and Ira Steven Behr lobbied to make the storyline on-going, but met with resistance from Executive Producer Rick Berman, who wanted to maintain an episodic format to the series. After Berman left production to oversee the launch of Star Trek: Voyager (1995), Moore and Behr were given more creative control over this series, making the Dominion War the main plot of the show, and adopting a serialized format.
- Wolf 359, mentioned as the battle site between the Borg and the Federation where Sisko lost his wife, is a real star that is seven and a half light-years from Earth.
- In Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Trials and Tribble-ations (1996) when Sisko and Dax see Kirk and Spock, Dax has the hots for Spock. In August 2017, Terry Farrell (Jadzia Dax) got engaged to Adam Nimoy, son of Leonard Nimoy (Spock).
- The jars of "pills" in Dr. Bashir's office were filled with M&Ms. In many instances during the early episodes, the level of the pills would change between shots because crew members kept stealing them. The problem was solved by epoxying the lids in place.
- When Colm Meaney was fitted for his Deep Space Nine uniform, he made two requests of the costume designers. He explained that unlike the officers, the non-commissioned Chief O'Brien was a working man. So he needed to be able to roll up his sleeves, and he needed pockets for his tools. The costume department altered his uniform accordingly.
- The character of Morn (Mark Allen Shepherd), the Lurian bar patron who is always seen sitting at Quark's bar, was written as a nod to the character of Norm Peterson, played by George Wendt on Cheers (1982). Morn is an anagram of Norm. The mask worn by Shepherd originally had no opening for the mouth, so make-up artist Michael Westmore gave him lips over the course of the series, in case the character needed to speak. Several lines for Morn were scripted over the years, but unfortunately for Shepherd, these were always written out at the last moment. So Morn never said one word during the entire run of the show, leading to a running gag where bar patrons, station crew members and civilian residents often mention that Morn is excessively talkative off-screen, and "never shuts up."
