— their affair, bloody
pairing: wednesday addams x fem!vampire!reader
warnings: mentions of blood/blood drinking
summary: could a vampire actually feel anguish? she wished she didn't have to feel at all, but whenever she looked at wednesday she could almost feel her undead heart beat in her chest
word count: 3.1k
a/n: the snippets before the rave'n dance are just a small foreword i feel i had to write not to make the ending scene seem meaningless. enjoy!!

"A new arrival, huh?" A blonde vampire next to (Y/n) chuckled, gently elbowing her friend in the side to catch her attention.
“Doesn’t she look cheery,” Yoko commented, sipping on her bottled blood.
(Y/n) tilted her head, taking a look at the small stranger over her glasses. Indeed, the look on her pale face was far from happy when she looked around the quad, as if judging everything and everyone she was seeing.
The girl was… small. Even from where the (h/c) - haired vampire sat with the Fangs she could see how miniature the ravenette’s frame was as she stood next to Enid. Despite the frailness of her shoulders, she held them straight, hands dutifully by her sides and posture perfect.
(Y/n)’s slitted pupils traced over the dark burgundy lips of the stranger, up to her perfect cheekbones and rested on the ravenette’s eyes.
Oh. Oh no, their gazes met.
“That stare is far too long to be judging, (Y/n). Speak up.” Yoko poked her fellow vampire in the shoulder, bringing the girl out of her thoughts. Adjusting her glasses with her finger, (Y/n) cleared her throat and turned away.
Tumblr media
“That looked like it hurt.”
Wednesday turned at the sound of a voice she hadn’t heard before, spotting a (h/c) - haired vampire in the doorway. The girl’s hands were folded on her chest as she leaned her frame against the door, watching the other through her tinted glasses.
“Not as much as my shattered ego.” The ravenette replied, unblinking as the nurse disinfected the cut on her forehead.
“Yeah, I can imagine,” (Y/n) chuckled, moving to sit on a bench opposite to Wednesday, taking off her glasses and resting them on her forehead. The red in her eyes glinted, mischief evident in the bloody pools, “You were really… impressive there. For a second I thought you might beat even Bianca.”
“Are you here to rub it my face, perhaps? Or are you always lured in by the slightest smell of blood?”
“No, no. None of the above,” the vampire shook her head with a smile, “Just wanted to make sure you were alright. I’m (Y/n). It’s very pleasant to make your acquaintance, Ms. Addams.”
“Are all you vampires so fancy and sugar - coated with your words?”
“That’s just my way of wooing you. Is it working?”
Wednesday rolled her eyes, clearly not in the mood for the vampire’s impish antics.
Tumblr media
“Do you only drink human blood?”
(Y/n) looked up from her phone, taking her plastic straw out of her mouth and licking a salty droplet off her lips.
“Well... Animal blood just lacks the taste, you know?”
“What are you, a gourmet then?”
The vampire huffed out a laugh through her nose, “You could say that. I mean, you do have a preference in coffee, right? Same goes for me.”
“Is there some kind of a blood type you prefer over others?”
“It’s not really about that,” putting her phone away, (Y/n) leaned closer to Wednesday in her seat, a thoughtful look on her face, “For example... Hard – working people taste better than those who lead an idle lifestyle,” she stirred the straw in the bottle, then took a sip, “And drinking a smoker is like... adding barbecue sauce? Does that sound coherent?” She chuckled.
Wednesday watched the vampire for a while, lost in thought, then her hand suddenly reached for the napkin holder next to her. Grabbing one, she leaned in towards the taller girl who was sitting opposite to her, and, carefully wrapping the white cloth around her finger, dabbed at the side of the vampire’s mouth. When Wednesday pulled away, the napkin had a small pink stain.
“You had blood on your face.” The ravenette deadpanned, fondling the tissue and leaving it on the side of the table before returning her focus back to the book in front of her.
Tumblr media
(Y/n) didn’t like going out to Jericho. She was content with never abandoning the school grounds, actually, as she had been doing for a few decades now, but, alas, Bianca’s outlook on bonding wasn’t limited by sharing each other’s traumas only. So almost every Sunday (Y/n) spent with the siren, walking around the town and checking out shops that didn’t seem to change its stock ever and spooking every normie they would meet on the way.
As the girls chatted, they passed by the Weathervane, and (Y/n) looked at the window absentmindedly, watching customers enjoy the atmosphere of the cozy café. Her gaze landed on a couple of teenagers sitting closer to the glass, and she stopped walking.
There, pointing at some book laying open on the table and talking intently was Wednesday. And right next to her was Tyler, leaning over the small girl, brows furrowed as he listened to her ramble, completely engrossed.
(Y/n) watched her through the lenses of her glasses — and for a second wished they were rose — colored.
"(Y/n)? You okay? What are you looking— " Bianca's voice reached the vampire but (Y/n) didn't see the girl coming up to stand beside her, catching sight of the pair through the window, "Fuck, (Y/n)... Come on.”
It was such a rare thing to hear the siren swear, and that was enough to bring (Y/n) out of her stupor.
She tore her eyes away from the small ravenette she was watching to look at her friend, "Yeah... Yeah, sorry. Let's go." The vampire muttered quietly and let Bianca wrap her hand around her arm in a soothing way, tugging her away from the coffee shop.
"Nothing to be sorry about. That psycho's the one who should be sorry." The girl seethed, frowning.
(Y/n) knew it was more of a personal thing for the siren. Because... Wednesday didn't do anything wrong. She was just there. Cold, distant, calculating and unnervingly beautiful.
She was there... with him. Why was the vampire so bothered by that? She guessed the answer was right there, waving in her face like a red flag. She didn't want to admit it.
Tumblr media
Walking up to the door, (Y/n) raised her fist to knock. It was early in the evening as she stood in the corridor of Ophelia Hall, feeling completely out of place despite always being welcomed here, and the vampire hoped her werewolf friend was ready to head out. The possibility of running into Enid’s gloomy roommate was impossibly high, considering she was knocking right on the devil den’s door.
It wasn’t like (Y/n) didn’t want to see her. This was really petty of her, now that the vampire was thinking about it. Wednesday was her friend, first and foremost. Her silly little crush came second. She should’ve been there for her, not running away and moping constantly.
But (Y/n) guessed this was the feature she shared with humans, and one that made her imperfect — she could feel. The jealousy, the heartbreak, despite how angsty and pathetic all of it was. Despite how the girl didn’t even have a heart.
The vampire heard footsteps inside the room and instantly fixed her gaze back on the door, straightening her slouched shoulders. It opened, and (Y/n) grinned, before she saw who was behind the door.
“(Y/n). Did you need something?”
Wednesday stood at the threshold, looking up at the vampire with a seemingly impatient gaze. She was dressed in a warm — looking black-and-white checkered sweater, the size big enough to hang off her shoulders in a cute cozy way. The ravenette certainly wasn’t expecting any guests.
(Y/n) gulped and felt her toothy smile waver.
"Hey. Is, uh... Is Enid around? I was supposed to pick her up at about... right now. " She chuckled, trying to suppress a lump forming in her throat.
"She hasn't come back from her extracurricular yet." Wednesday answered curtly.
"Ah. Typical Enid," (Y/n) cursed mentally, baring a sharp fang to scratch at her lip, anxious about what she was going to ask next, "Do you mind if I chill here for a bit while I wait for her, then?"
There was no way in hell she just asked that.
Wednesday seemed to think for a moment before she stepped away from the door, letting the taller girl in, "As long as you promise to be silent."
"Sure thing. Thanks."
The vampire walked into the room, closing the door behind her, and plopped herself on the bed of her werewolf friend with a sigh. She watched Wednesday take a sit at her desk, back turned to (Y/n), and the monotonous but hardly unpleasant sound of typing resumed.
"So... Are you going to the Rave’N next week?" (Y/n) asked, trying her best to seem nonchalant, and for a second regretted asking – she didn’t want to hear an affirmative from the girl.
“(Y/n). What did you just promise me?” Wednesday scolded, her fingers never ceasing their chaotic dance on the typewriter.
The vampire huffed, “Right. Sorry.”
She watched the smaller girl type for a while, lost in thought, before the ravenette's voice made her flinch.
“Are you and Sinclair going on a date?”
“What? No, no, it’s a girls’ night out,” (Y/n) explained, a bit embarrassed, “Me, her, Yoko, some girls from Ophelia Hall... Didn’t she invite you?”
“It must’ve slipped my mind.” The ravenette deadpanned, as if having lost all the interest in the conversation.
“Well... I can invite you. Right now. I’d be glad if you went. And, you know, the girls would be, too.”
“I’ve got something planned for tonight already.”
(Y/n)’s brows raised in surprise, then she frowned, scoffing, “Right. I can imagine.”
“Can you?” Wednesday asked incredulously.
“Yeah. That curly – haired guy, Tyler, was he? Must be a bit bold to ask you out past the curfew."
“Is there something wrong with that?” The typing stopped, but Wednesday didn’t turn in her seat to face the taller girl.
“No. Nothing,” (Y/n) stood from the bed, turning to head for the exit, “Know what. I think I’m gonna go look for Enid myself. The puppy is certainly taking her time.”
“Do you have some kind of a grudge against me, (Y/n)?”
The vampire stopped in her tracks, “Why would I?”
“Don’t play coy. You’ve been cold and distant – snappier than usual, too,” Wednesday got up from her seat, moving closer to the taller girl but not daring to take a step too close, “Do you hate me? Is that why you avoid me?” She asked, scrutinizing (Y/n) as if trying to figure out a complex math problem that challenged her intellect, and the inability to do so irritated her endlessly.
The vampire felt the dam in her throat she was trying so hard to keep intact break. (Y/n) swallowed, gritting her teeth, terrible burning overtaking her larynx. Her glasses had slid down her nose somewhere in the middle of her movements, and Wednesday could see desperation swirl in the red pools.
“You’re so unfair.” She tried to keep her voice flat, but the anger and sadness was evident in her tone lacking its usual soft cockiness. Her slitted pupils fixed on the short ravenette, and Wednesday froze at the intensity of the gaze.
Hate is the last fucking emotion I feel towards you.
“Unfair and... so cruel.”
Fixing her glasses back to their place, the (h/c) – haired vampire turned on her heel, heading for the door and grabbing the handle.
“Have a fun date, Wednesday.”
The slam of the door made the smaller girl flinch. She stared at where (Y/n) had left, unblinking, wondering if her exit had something to do with a gaping hole forming in her heart.
Tumblr media
(Y/n) had promised Enid – no words starting with ‘W’ this evening. It was the Rave’N Dance, the very thing every single student of Nevermore had been looking forward the whole year. The vampire wasn’t as excited as she thought she would be, but the idea of muting her aching thoughts at least for a bit sounded nice. To think of something aside from the cold – hearted ravenette.
She hoped someone would actually spike the punch this time. Heaven knew she needed that.
Teenagers were slowly starting to gather at the huge hall, and Wednesday detested having to be among them. She looked at herself in the mirror. The dress that adorned her being was... perfect. It fit like a glove, the semitransculent fabric on her shoulders clashing gorgeously against her pale complexion, and the black collar complimented her slender neck in a way that could make one want to trace their fingers over the soft skin to really make sure she wasn’t made of porcelain.
But Wednesday herself wasn’t feeling as beautiful as she looked
A certain vampire wouldn’t abandon her thoughts. Her words, the way she had looked at the ravenette that day... Wednesday could swear all of those were hints that were supposed to bring her closer to unveiling the mystery that was (Y/n) (L/n).
Shame she was too oblivious to see the answer right in front of her nose.
But there was no use in pondering now. She hoped the evening would help her forget about the girl... at least for a moment. Grabbing the hem of her black lacy dress, the gloomy girl went down the stairs and past the taken – aback Tyler who hurried to follow her. A familiar voice made the ravenette stop in her tracks, and she turned to look at its owner.
“(Y/n)’s been there for a while...” Enid hummed, standing next to the staircase and looking at the upper floor, hoping to see her friend finally emerge from the corridor.
“She’s allowed to be fashionably late,” Yoko assured, “I don’t remember the last time (Y/n) went to the Dance – and the two of us have been in the academy long enough.”
The girls’ conversation died at the sound of heavy footsteps. They looked up, and there the vampire latecomer was.
“I, uh... I think I went a little overboard.”
(Y/n) wore a silky black shirt with long fringed sleeves, and on top of it she had a dark – red vest, perfectly tight over her torso. Her high collar was adorned with a black broche, and her patent leather shoes tapped on the lacquered floor when she went down the stairs.
“Holy shit, did someone rob Dracula’s coffin? You’re to die for, (Y/n),” Yoko complimented, looking the taller vampire up and down with a proud toothy grin.
“Do a twirl, babes!” Enid exclaimed, and (Y/n) blushed under their gazes, raising her arms and spinning on her heels.
“You’re exaggerating, girls.” She murmured, cheeks pink with embarrassment.
“No way,” the werewolf came to the girl’s side to grab her arm, pressing herself closer to her frame, “You look so dapper! Walking into the Rave’N with you will be the biggest flex of the year.”
The vampire grinned, chuckling, “Fine, fine. Thank you. You both look extremely gorgeous, too. I could melt at the amount of such pretty women giving me their undivided attention.”
The three girls laughed before Yoko moved to tug at (Y/n)’s other arm, “C’mon. The girls are already there.”
Wednesday watched the vampire leave, unable to move a muscle. Enid was right – walking with such a beautiful being would’ve been an honor... and it was supposed to be the ravenette’s honor.
“Think we should move out?”
She looked up at Tyler who watched her expectantly, a lopsided smile on his face, and then headed for the Rave’N hall without a word.
Tumblr media
How did it go so wrong?
(Y/n) had a hard time not stealing glances towards a certain ravenette and her date – she couldn’t help herself, really. Wednesday looked gorgeous. Even when she danced with him.
But before (Y/n) could sulk over her thoughts, she’d get pulled in to the dancefloor by one of her friends, and then she’d loose the small girl in the crowd.
She didn’t bother seeking her again.
And even if she did, the vampire wouldn’t be able to find her amidst all the red she was seeing.
It reminded her painfully of a horror movie she had seen a while ago, and the recreation of it in real life seemed so obvious and cliché (Y/n) found herself chuckling as she stared up at the thick sprinkling liquid.
People around the vampire were screaming, running out of the hall and slipping on the puddles of blood, and the girl watched with amusement as even the stone – cold principal of Nevermore got overtaken by panic. (Y/n) scrunched her nose, and a single whiff made the vampire realise it wasn’t actual blood – just mere paint. She scoffed – way to go, outcasts.
Taking off her glasses, (Y/n) looked up towards the raining red, liquid staining her shirt and west, getting into her eyes and hair. Students ran past her, bumping into her frame, but the girl couldn’t bring herself to move.
(Y/n) craned her head to the side, and suddenly her eyes met pools of grey. Wednesday stood a few feet away from her, unmoving, her hair completely drenched in paint, some dark locks sticking to her face.
She watched (Y/n), gaze unreadable, then took a single step. Then another. Her shoes squelched against the wet floors.
Wednesday was standing in front of the taller girl now, not uttering a single word. They watched each other, transfixed, fake blood pooling around them. Wednesday stepped closer, looking up at the vampire, and (Y/n) found herself unable to breathe.
The short ravenette leaned in on her tip – toes, and her painted lips pressed against (Y/n)’s.
The vampire’s eyes closed on their own accord, and her hands landed on the smaller girl’s waist, gently pulling her closer. For a second she thought she was dreaming, but the warm feeling of Wednesday’s lips on hers, the girl’s long lashes tickling her cheeks and the herbaceous woodsy smell of her perfume that overwhelmed the vampire’s senses was so real it grounded her to earth like nothing else.
Their lips parted, but (Y/n) wasn’t in a hurry to move away. She watched Wednesday intently, pupils tracing over the slopes of her perfect cheekbones, and the warmth of the feeling bursting in her stomach almost made the vampire pull the smaller girl into another kiss – but she didn’t.
Wednesday leaned in herself again, her plump lips ghosting over the corner of (Y/n)’s mouth where redness was smeared in a feather – light touch.
“Amateurs. They didn’t even bother to get some actual pig blood.” She muttered softly, sighing in half –hearted exasperation.
“Would’ve been a funny thing to watch me run around with my tongue out trying to catch the droplets as if they were snowflakes, huh?” The vampire chuckled, raising her hand to gently wipe some liquid off the smaller girl’s cheek.
Wednesday smiled, eyes fixing back on (Y/n)’s lips. And the taller girl quickly understood the message, leaning in again.
Yeah. She’d rather busy her tongue with something else.

Falling Fast
Wednesday Addams x Reader
Word Count: 2.6k
Notes: Hellhound reader
Summary: Y/n couldn't help but to bring out her violin once she heard the cello playing in the night. The new girl on campus intrigued her, but little did she know the interest was mutual. That doesn't get revealed until the two girls find themselves in the forest one night.
Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Masterlist
Tumblr media
Though everyone would deny it, Wednesday was intriguing. Not in the normal way, the new student was intriguing. Nothing about Wednesday was normal, but for some reason her abnormality was viewed with hostility at Nevermore.
Y/n thought that was quite curious. She never truly understood how even amongst a whole group of outcasts, there could be lines of divisions as such.
Before Y/n spoke to Wednesday, they played a song together. Wednesday had started late one night with her cello. It rang out across the entire school grounds. It was brilliant.
Y/n's body had a mind of its own upon listening to the cello. She found herself just outside of her room with her violin perched under her neck. She waited for the right timing and jumped into Wednesday's symphony.
It was an intense piece and without a sheet in front of her, following along should've been harder. However, she let intuition guide her as she played. She followed Wednesday's lead, and by the time they were done, she felt like she knew something about the girl.
Y/n's eyes traveled up to the balcony Wednesday had been playing on. She found that the Addams girl was already looking down at her. The violinist almost waved, but she didn't. They stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. Both girls held a certain curiosity in their respective glances.
It's Wednesday who turns away first. It's an abrupt movement as she takes her cello and re-enters her room. Y/n stares at the spot where Wednesday stood, for a moment longer.
" Goodnight, Wednesday," the words leave her lips, and then she slips into her room.
Enid is the one to set up a proper introduction between Y/n and Wednesday.
" Y/n this is Wednesday, Wednesday this is Y/n the girl you've been asking me about."
Y/n’s eyes land on the dark haired girl, who seems to be sizing her up. The taller girl sticks her handout for Wednesday to shake, " Nice to finally meet you."
There is a long hesitation in her movements, but Wednesday does eventually return the handshake," You were the one on the violin the other night?"
Y/n gave a curt nod," I was. Sorry if I interrupted, but I could hear it from my room, and got a little carried away."
Enid interjects," I thought the two of you sounded really good together."
The violinist scratches the back of her neck," The cello was definitely better than the violin that night."
" It was, but I suppose you did well, considering you played it all by ear."
Y/n smiled a bit at the compliment," Thanks."
Y/n and Wednesday seemed to be locked into a staring contest. Neither girl was able to take her gaze off of the other. Enid's gaze shifted between the two, sensing some underlying chemistry.
" Well… Wednesday and I have to go, but we'll catch up with you some other time," the blonde tries to drag Wednesday away.
The Addams girl untangles herself from Enid's grasp, but still follows the cheery blonde.
Y/n watches the pair leave before returning to her previous activities.
Enid hounded Wednesday as soon as Y/n was no longer in sight. A lot of the talking went into one ear and out of the other. That was until Enid insinuated that Wednesday liked Y/n.
" Why would you assume something so… trivial of me?"
Enid scoffs," It's totally normal to like someone, Wednesday, even for us."
" I don't like her," Wednesday deadpans.
" You gave her a compliment. You don't compliment anyone, ever. It's a part of your character," Enid rambles on.
Wednesday almost struggles to find a rebuttal," I did not compliment her. I simply acknowledged how complex it was to follow along with my music."
" So you're saying you found it impressive?" Enid questions.
" Precisely."
Enid smirks," And is that not a compliment?"
Wednesday stares down Enid," It would be quite curious if you went to sleep with a head full of hair, but woke up with a buzzcut, don't you agree? Thing knows his way around a good pair of clippers."
" I trust Thing to make sure I look my best," Enid shrugs.
Wednesday groans," Are friends always so insufferable?"
Enid gushes," Awe, you called us, friends."
Wednesday groans once more before the girls reach their class, effectively ending the conversation.
Throughout the day, Y/n's wandering thoughts all seemed to lead her back to Wednesday. There was something about the girl that was infectious. Or in other words, something about Wednesday felt like an infection.
Though the encounters were brief, Y/n found herself showing all the signs of having feelings for Wednesday. The girl was unapologetically herself, and there was something that Y/n admired in her. She wanted to curse herself for being so enchanted so quickly, but she knew that she wasn't the only one.
Y/n had seen Wednesday with both Tyler and Xavier. It might've been hard for Wednesday to decipher, but it was clear to anyone with eyes that they were both interested in the girl. Y/n couldn't blame them, maybe it was some sort of Wednesday effect.
A tapping on her window pulled Y/n out of her thoughts. Her eyes narrowed, but she hadn't seen anyone in the darkness. Y/n stood and cautiously edged towards the window.
" Hello?"
Her nerves stilled when the window opened. Y/n panicked seeing a hand crawl into her room, but her panic was quickly replaced by confusion. The palm opened and there was some writing on it.
Follow Thing- Wednesday
" I presume you're Thing."
Thing gives Y/n a thumbs up before pointing at her violin.
" She wants me to bring the violin?"
Thing confirms this. Y/n packs up her violin, then follows Thing. The final destination was Enid and Wednesday's room. Y/n didn't get a chance to knock as the door swung open.
" What're you doing here?" There was a slight confusion in Wednesday's voice.
Y/n furrowed her brow as her gaze dropped to Thing. The hand tried to scurry away, but Wednesday snatched him up. Thing tried to stay balled up, but a scary glare from Wednesday had the hand unclenching.
" Enid wrote this," Wednesday looked at the woman through her eyelashes.
" Oh, I can go if you-"
Wednesday cut her off," I'm going out, you're welcome to come, but you might die."
" Don't threaten me with a good time," Y/n joked, but Wednesday didn't laugh," Can I leave my violin in your room?"
That's how Y/n found herself walking through the woods with Wednesday Addams. The woods put Y/n on edge, mostly because people kept getting murdered. Whatever monster was out there spiked a fear into the girl.
" So, what are we doing in the woods?"
" Looking for evidence," Wednesday said bluntly.
" Evidence of what?" You pushed on.
The girl let out a huff," The monster or Rowan."
Y/n pauses," I thought Rowan was expelled."
This causes Wednesday to stop walking," If you think I'm crazy, at least have the courage to tell me to my face."
Y/n's hands shot up in defense," I honestly have no idea what you're talking about."
The girl cocks her head to the side," You mean to tell me that you missed all the rumors and heckling surrounding my claim that Rowan was murdered by the monster."
"If he was murdered, how did he get expelled?"
Wednesday shrugged slightly," That's what I'm trying to figure out."
Y/n nodded to herself a few times," Ok, so what counts as evidence?"
" You don't think I'm crazy? Or lying? Or both?"
Y/n stares at the girl," What would you gain from lying about that?"
Wednesday stares back at her with a blank expression on her face. With the way everyone was treating at the school, it was hard to believe that someone wasn’t questioning her. She had made a reputation for herself (that she didn’t care about, but she was acutely aware of). So to her, it didn’t make any sense for Y/n to believe her without any scrutiny.
“ What’s wrong with you?”
The question takes Y/n aback. Wednesday sees the shock on the girl’s face and decides to elaborate, “ I mean, what makes you qualify as a Nevermore student?”
Wednesday sees the girl’s body tense. The silence engulfs them as she watches Y/n struggle to find the words that she wants to say.
“ I’m a hellhound.”
“ You don’t seem proud of it.”
Y/n kicks up some dirt at her feet,” It takes everything I have to control the monster inside of me. The werewolves change every full moon, as a hellhound I can change every night if I’m not careful. Once I’m there, it’s game over. Sometimes I remember and sometimes I don’t.”
“ Have you ever killed anyone?”
The question brings a mask of dread on Y/n’s face. Before she can elaborate, they hear something. The noise alerts the two girls. Y/n is the one to grab onto Wednesday’s wrist, but it’s then that the dark haired girl has a vision. Her body goes limp in Y/n’s arms.
“ Wednesday? Wednesday! Shit.”
Y/n tries to wake the girl, but then the noise from before returns. It sounds closer than before. Y/n begins to look around frantically, and that’s when she sees it. The two large eyes watching them from behind the tree. Her body goes rigid. Everything is still for a moment. Neither her nor the monster move.
She’s frozen in her spot, her mind is racing. With Wednesday in her arms, she doesn’t know what to do. The choice becomes clear as the monster finally charges at her. She drops Wednesday's limp body on the ground, then plants her feet.
The shift hurts as she can’t remember the last time it happened. All she feels is heat, and the only thing her mind is telling her to do is attack.
The hellhound charges the unknown creature. They meet in the middle. The creature takes a swipe at Y/n missing wildly. The fire burns brightly on the hound's skin as it pounces on the monster. Y/n snips at the monster's neck, going for the kill. However, the monster uses its long limbs to its advantage, kicking the hound away.
Then it turns its attention to Wednesday, who has started to gain her consciousness. As it stalks towards her, the hound gets between the two. The flames in its eyes fierce, almost daring the monster to touch the girl.
The monster stares Y/n down, but the hound shows no fear. It seems to assess the situation. It stalks away from the pair. The hound doesn’t take its eyes off the monster, waiting for it to disappear out of the forest.
When the hound knows it is gone, it drops its defensive stance.
“ Y/n?”
The hound turns around to come face to face with Wednesday Addams. The hound lightly nudges the girl’s hand. It wants her to follow it out of the forest. Wednesday follows the giant dog. Her hand can’t help itself as it trails down the back of the animal.
The black skin feels like ash, the heat radiating off of it warms her in the cold of the night. Wednesday is mesmerized by Y/n in this form. Once they are out of the forest, the hound knows they are safe. It gives up the control, and soon it’s shifting back into Y/n.
The change is harsh on girl. She ends up on her hands and knees with her eyes squeezed shut as her bones are riddled with pain. She isn’t sure if she can move. Y/n feels a coat being thrown over her and a presence kneeling by her.
“ That hurts you.”
Y/n tugs the coat over her exposed skin,” It’s just been a long time, so it was harder than usual.”
The hellhound tries to stand, but is unable to. Wednesday has to help her to her feet.
“ You could’ve left me for dead in the forest,” Wednesday speaks.
Y/n shook her head with the little strength that she had," That wasn't an option for me."
" Why not?"
" Because I-"
" Dear god, what happened!"
Y/n gets her sentence cut short by principal Weems. The woman is quick to help Wednesday with the battered girl.
" We got attacked in the woods. Y/n fought off the same beast that killed Rowan," Wednesday told the principal.
" I just need to lie down, and I'll be alright," Y/n tried to downplay her pain.
Wednesday was not allowing it," She needs to see the nurse."
Y/n wanted to protest, but Weems agreed. They led the injured girl to the nurse's office.
" You are no longer needed, Ms. Addams, why don't you go to your room."
" No," Wednesday said simply.
" No?" Weems questioned, but Wednesday didn't budge.
" She didn't leave me behind. I'm not leaving her," Wednesday glared at the bleach blonde woman.
" Wednesday," Y/n spoke softly, not wishing for the girl to get into any trouble with the principal.
Weems' eyes shifted between both girls before an irritated sigh left her lips," Very well then, but you better be in all of your classes tomorrow."
Weems left after that, leaving the nurse to tend to Y/n. Wednesday waited patiently for the girl to be placed in one of the beds. Once she was, Wednesday's gaze never left Y/n.
" Well now you know what the monster looks like," Y/n broke the silence.
" You could've died," there's malice in her tone. It's not necessarily directed at the other girl.
Y/n smiles a bit," You told me that before we went into the forest."
The pigtailed girl’s eyes meet yours, " It was never my intention to hurt you."
Y/n cautiously reaches for Wednesday's hand, scared that the dark haired girl will pull away. She doesn't.
" You didn't hurt me. That thing attacked me."
" It wouldn't have happened if I didn't bring you out to the woods."
Y/n shakes her head," I decided to go out there with you. I could've gone back to my room. You told me it would be dangerous. It's not your fault, Wednesday."
Her eyes are locked on your hands. Tears welled in her eyes, but didn't fall.
" Y/n, I swear to you that I will not rest until the beast is caught. It will pay for this," there's a fire in her voice when she speaks to Y/n. One that makes the injured girl's heart swell.
" If you think, I'm letting you do this alone, you're truly mistaken. We have to protect each other," Y/n squeezed the girl's hand gently.
Wednesday lifted their interlocked hands. She carefully placed her lips on the back of Y/n's hand," I will not let any more harm come to you."
Y/n's face blushed intensely at the tenderness of it all. She found herself kissing Wednesday's hand," I will stand by you as you fight your battles."
Both of the promises were different. However, the meaning was the same. They cared for each other. The fear of losing Y/n ignited something in Wednesday; just as the fear of losing Wednesday ignited something in Y/n.
There was an understanding between the girls. Nothing else needed to be said. They just paired well together. Wednesday was like a cello and Y/n like violin. Both beautiful on their own, but it was agreed that together they could create a masterpiece.

Okay okay okay but imagine y/n is like a werewolf but a cat if that makes sense? And as a cat they get cuddly, purr and just really loving. Especially when it's towards Wednesday 😏 They aren't together but you can tell there's feelings there... The purring low-key gives it away. When they're alone (the writing hour) the cat gets cuddly
Oooo it’s been a minute 😭😭 I hope I did this right for you
3rd Person POV
Enid watched as a black cat strode confidently from the balcony into her room, settling itself by her roommates typewriter.
She glanced at her watch knowing she would soon come in for her usual writing hour. The cat stretched licking its paws as if it had just finished a delicious feast.
We did just have dinner.
The werewolf suddenly felt her brows furrow realizing the cat may not just be a cat. She sniffed the air trying to place the scent when Wednesday waltzed in.
Her eyes quickly falling to the dark creature on her desk. She walked up slowly nuzzling under its chin as it began to purr.
Enid felt her eyebrows raise at the sight, Wednesday and affection were two things she didn't think ever went together.
"Enid your need for useless gossip should be able to tell me who this cat belongs to." She looked to the taller girl who shrugged in return.
"Never seen it until now but I'll ask around I'm sure someone's wondering where it is."
Wednesday sat at her desk chair slightly pushed back as the creature plopped itself right on her lap.
Wednesday paused slightly glaring at the cat.
"You're getting far too comfortable." Yellow eyes just slowly blinked back at her before softly kneading it's paws creating a nest on her lap. Enid almost cooed at the sight of it.
The goth rolled her eyes as she adjusted herself.
"I refuse to let you interrupt my writing so either get lost or don't move." The cat purred slightly as if letting her know it understood.
She blew out a breath before the usual sound of fingertips hitting keys filled the room, Enid's headphones already on as Thing read on of her magazines on her bed.
.
.
.
Wednesday walked into the Weathervane her usual booth occupied by an intruder. She felt her gaze harden at the sight of them. They sat tall as they'd glanced to the book on the table, slender fingers picking up a glass cup and sipping slowly as if they didn't plan to leave any time soon.
"Howdy roomie let's-" Enid blanched at the sight of someone sitting in their usual booth. She already knew that Wednesday was not one for abrupt changes to her routine. She glanced to the girl putting a hand up before she walked towards you.
"Hi." She looked down suddenly realizing you were wearing the same uniform she was. Her eyebrows furrowed as she suddenly lost her train of thought.  "I haven't seen you around school?"
You looked up to the werewolf eyes shining in recognition. "I like to keep to myself."
She nodded. "So if you wouldn't mind this is Wednesday and I's usual booth and-"
"I am more than happy to share-"
"Y/n." Wednesday interrupted the both of you.
Enid grew more confused. "You two know each other?"
You nod to the fur as you go to elaborate, Wednesday cutting you off. "We share a few classes together."
Enid watched the two of you interact and felt the gears in her head begin to turn. She looked to Wednesday's face once more realizing there was something underneath the usual look of indifference and slight agitation. She watched her eyebrows for a second to see if they would give any indication to what she was feeling but found none. She then looked to her eyes not a glare but still not happy, set firmly in its usual deadpan. Her lips the usual frown-
Wait a minute.
She found her cheeks weren't as pale as they usually are and almost gasped out loud as she saw Wednesdays eyes weren't holding your gaze but slowly scanning over you.
"I was just telling Enid I'm more than happy to share the booth with you both."
Enid watched you next and found your hands had a slight shake to them as you placed your cup back down.
"I suppose that will be acceptable." Her neck snapped to the smaller girl who began to settle into the seat across from you. She sat next to Wednesday who scowled.
Wednesday began to take out the book she was reading as you continued on as if nothing changed. At least that's how it would look to anyone else, Enid watched as you would glance to Wednesday when she wasn't looking eyes dilating to the point your irises were overshadowed like, like-
Enid sniffed the air subtly before realization hit her like a truck. She glanced to her roommate to find her staring at you from over her book and shook her head in amusement.
Maybe she’ll let her figure this one out on her own.

My Better Bitter Half
Tumblr media
Wednesday Addams X Twin Brother Reader x Enid Sinclair
Summary: Wednesday has been transferred to Nevermore, luckily Someone there already knows much about her, her twin brother. While you two may be twins you couldn’t be any more alike, after hearing your Sister is coming to Nevermore, you get much more than you bargained for.
Note: hi, this is Ornii, so for my own Canon I decided to Name Wednesdays twin “Vlad”, based off of Vlad the imapiler, who then inspired Dracula. Who’s full name is Vlad Dracul. Anyway into the story,
“Yes Mother I understand..” (Y/n) says calmly as he dresses himself. Standing before a long mirror inside his dorm room. Nevermore was his Home for the past year due to his, oddly charming and dark abilities, as he stands and oozes at his own charm he hears the voice of his mother from a crystal ball.
“Good my little Hell hound, I understand that it will be a bit different with your sister there. Please try and help her adjust to it. You know how, ferocious, she can be. Be patient with her.”
“Unfortunately I was not blessed with the patience you have. But I will, try.” You say, you hear a pleased him from mother and she ends the communication. As you exited your room for the first time today you immediately head to the entrance of Nevermore. Walking past students who give you glares or winks your train of thought you as quickly halted by a voice calling your name. You halt and turn to Enid approaching and slipping over, like an obedient pet.
“Good Moorning!~” she says in a very sing-song voice, you give her a smile on response.
“Good morning to you as Well Miss Sinclair, I suppose you have some gossip to share?”
“Well I’m not all gossip.”
“I doubt that—“
“But, I did get something so cool! A roomie!” She says, (Y/n)’s already slightly pale skin lost a bit more color. If his estimation was correct, his Bubbly, loving best friend is going to room with his literal Nightmare of a sister.
“Poor child.” You say.
“What?” She asks, confused.
“Nothing!” You say smirking, “I hope you enjoy yourself.” You say before leaving, as you enter the main driveway to Nevermore a long black vehicle pulls up and he watches with a devious smirk. The vehicles front door opens up and Lurch steps out. If Frankenstein wasn’t some Myth, that’d be Lurch. Tall, dead looking with a flat head. He Leers over and walks to the back, he opens the door and two step out, Mother and Father. Their gaze goes from the beautiful Nevermore to their Devilish son.
“There is my Hell hound.” Morticia says to (Y/n) who gladly accepts the hug from his mother.
“How does Nevermore fare against our Devil?” Gomez asks and (Y/n) just grins.
“It Never had a Chance, i learn from the best.” He says to them both, he looks past them.
“Is She here?” He asks, Lurch drags her belongings along and she steps out, a almost perfect copy of you, just much more feminine. Long black pigtails compared to your short black Quiff haircut. Wednesday never smiles but your devilish Grin could never leave your face sometimes. You walk over to her, and you both stop close to each other, you notice that you’re a few inches taller, as she has to “Look up” to you.
“Brother.” She Said with that cold attitude, you smirk at this.
“Hello To you too, Dear Sister.” You say, planting your hand on her shoulder. You feel her cold stare of disapproval.
“You know how I feel about contact.”
“I know, that’s why I’m doing it, you despise it.” You say with a laugh, You relent and hug her. You feel her tense up.
“You have three seconds before you lose your arms.” She says and you again let go.
“That’s the sharp tongue I know so well.” You say and motion for her to follow him.
“So, seems Mother and Father have finally shipped you off. What did you do this time?”
“A group of Mouth breathers were bullying Pugsley. The only person who gets to torture my brothers—“
“Will always be you.” You reply, and ask. “So, what’s the damage.”
“A boy lost a testicle.” She says, you half in her footsteps and turn to her.
“I tossed Piranhas into a pool, the rest is up to your imagination.” She says, you stare at her for a second and grin.
“So. You failed to get the job done? I would have poured Red-Bellied, they’re the most dangerous.” You say. As much as Wednesday hated most people, you were the one she hates the least. A small smile creeps along her face hearing your praise of her work. The family enter the principals office and begin conversation.
“Wednesday is certainly a unique name. I'm guessing it was the day you were born?” The Principal of the School Weems asks. (Y/n) and Wednesday sat next to each other, with Gomez and Morticia on opposite sides.
“We were born on Friday the 13th.” (Y/n) says, “from what I was told, Sparks were flying, rain was pouring, a beautiful sight. Unfortunately Wednesday was too busy trying to strangle me in the Womb for it to be absolutely perfect.” You say, you can feel her Ice cold glare hit your neck.
“Her name comes from a line from my favorite nursery rhyme, "Wednesday's child is full of woe." Morticia explains, “and (Y/n)’s comes from a famous ruler in history.” Morticia explains.
“You always had a unique perspective on the world, Morticia. Did your mother tell you we were roommates back in the day?” Weems says.
“And you graduated with your sanity intact impressive.” Wednesday responds coldly, weems was a bit taken aback by her Wit. She ignores this and keeps going.
“You've certainly had a very interesting educational journey. Eight schools in five years.” Weems says.
“They haven't built one strong enough to hold me.” Wednesday said. “I bet this place won't be any different.”
“What our daughter is trying to say is that she greatly appreciates the opportunity.”
“She’s a Modern day Hannibal Lecter. You know without the eating people, isn’t she just lovely?” You say grinning.
“Nevermore doesn't usually accept students mid-term, but given Wednesday's perfect grades and your family's long history with the school, I've spoken with the board and we've made an exception.”
“Isn’t that great?” You say smiling.
“Larissa, what about Wednesday's, um... therapy sessions?” Morticia said.
“The court ordered them. The school has a relationship with a therapist in Jericho. She can meet twice a week.”
“Did you hear that, my little storm cloud? You're in excellent hands.” Gomez says, and (Y/n) raises an eyebrow.
“She’s going to eat that therapist alive..” You said,
“I've assigned you to your mother's old dorm. Ophelia Hall.”
“Refresh my memory. Ophelia's the one who kills herself after being driven mad by her family, correct?” Wednesday said, and Weems might be in over her head.
“Should we go meet your new roommate?” Weems says, and they all leave, a look of worry was actually on You, fearing just what Wednesday might do to Enid. She skips over as the door opens and Enid sees (Y/n) and Wednesday.
“Howdy, roomie!” She says with such a cutesy adorable attitude.,
“Wednesday, this is Enid Sinclair.” You say.
“Are you feeling okay? You look a little pale.” Enid said worried.
“Wednesday always looks half-dead she was like this for our childhood.” You explain, and Enid looks confused.
“Our childhood?” She asks, you stand next to Wednesday.
“You don’t notice the resemblance?” You say, “Here let me.” You quickly stop smiling and perfectly mimic Wednesdays deadpanned face. They look perfectly identical and she sees the Addams Twins in full force.
“Oh. M. G! You’re his sister! You look so similar! It’s like looking in a mirror! Welcome to Ophelia Hall!” Enid reaches out for a hug and (Y/n) quickly shakes his head no.
“Not a hugger. Got it.” Enid says taking a step back.
“Please excuse My Sister, She's allergic to color.” You explain.
“Oh wow, What happens to you?” Enid asks, fearful of the answer.
“I break out into hives and then the flesh peels off my bones.”
“I used to throw colorful fruit at her.” You say with a smile. Weems interrupts and gives a stern smileS
“(Y/n), Enid, please take Wednesday to the registrar's office to pick it up along with her schedule, and give her a tour along the way.”
Note: I’ve always found the idea of Wednesday’ having a twin more fascinating due to her very antisocial behavior and personality, and I think they play off of each other so well, the insecurities and inferiority complexes these two ooze out is just, awesome. I want to do some incorrect quotes with them if people would enjoy those. The fencing fight would be very interesting as well.

Wednesday and Eugene headcanons?
Truthfully I haven't thought too much about that.
I figure you mean platonically? I refuse to even think about the possiblity of them being non-platonic, so I'm sticking with platonic haha.
As Wednesday said in the show Eugene reminds her of Pugsley. I feel like while that's true I don't think she has it in her to playfully harm Eugene the way she does with Pugsley. She knows he's a bit too soft for that.
We all know Eugene had/has a crush on Enid. While Wednesday was already straight forward and told him there's like no chance of him and E ever getting together, I think she might still feel a little bad when her and Enid get together. I feel like she'd make sure he found out of their relationship through herself or E not through gossip.
Wednesday still has tremendous guilt about Eugene getting attacked. To the point I could see her having a little heart attack everytime Euguene isn't where he is meant to be. (At least for the first couple weeks- maybe months- after the attack.)
Eugene is now canonically taller than Wedns. So is Pugsley. And Enid. And Bianca. And every. Body. Else. Poor girl is stuck surrounded by people taller than her. I think at some point it might hit her that everyone is taller than her and she might have a teeny tiny bit of a fit.
Eugene may also think now that he's taller he may have more of a chance with 'the ladies' (Enid). He does not. Enid is in love with a 5"1 goth girl :P
Again, thank you for your question, anon! I enjoyed answering! Please fear not to ask more folks🖤

"Your Majesty?" Enid pushes the black door open, looking down at her superior. "You wanted to see me?"
"Yes," the Queen is facing the window. It's dark outside. "There is important news."
"Well," Enid wiggles the fluffy ears on her head, "I'm all ears!"
The Queen mutters something under her breath in a different language. She turns to face the taller.
"There was a symbol of threat on the outermost edges of our wall." She looks Enid in the eyes. "From the Barclay monarchy."
Enid sputters, "I thought we were allies?"
"We were, but we refused to comply with their wishes."
Enid feels her hands tighten.
"What wishes? I thought our alliance benefited everyone in it?" Her hand falls to rest on the hilt of her sword. It provides some comfort.
"It did. But they got into a... disagreement with the Ottingers, and I refused to yield to them. So, as it stands, I've made enemies of them."
"Okay. With all due respect, your Majesty, I fall to see why this required me of all people? Shouldn't this be between you and your advisors? Or the head of the Royal Guard?" Enid tilts her head.
"I have spoken with them already. And they all said the same: I need someone to aid in watching me."
"But you're plenty strong and capable on your own?"
"Yes," the Queen nods, "that was as I said as well. But, they had a fair point." She walks over to Enid. She's so much smaller, Enid almost has to look straight down. It stretches her neck. She can't imagine how bad the Royal's neck must hurt.
"I need more protection, especially considering that Barclay is one of the bigger powers. So, you are hereby to guard me at all times."
"Oh—kayyyyy?" Enid watches her walk to her desk, taking out a quill and ink. "Why me, though? I'm hardly the best. I'm pretty sure the captain of the Royal Guard is better suited."
"Are you questioning me, Sinclair?" She raises an eyebrow. She puts writing utensils in her bag.
"No Ma'am!" The knight yelps. "Just— uh. Worried..." she clenches her fists and bites her lip, looking at the ground. "That you might've made. The. Wrong. Choice? Sorry?" She offers.
"Ha." Is the dull sound she gets. The Queen walks past Enid, right to her door. "Come. You are to guard me at all times." Enid squawks, almost falling with how fast she turns.
"Yes your Majesty!"
---------------------------------------------------------------
It's surprisingly fun to follow the Queen around on her duties. Hah.
Duties.
She's much busier than Enid first thought. She knew the royal woman had things to do, but she always thought it was maybe three things and then she just sat in her room all day.
Turns out, she does stuff all. Day.
Enid doesn't want to sound bratty, but she's bored. She's stuck next to her Queen, listening to old people complain about old things.
Trees apparently need to be cut because of rain and rocks or something, there's some kind of small riot forming because of no honey being sold. There's some old woman who somehow killed a trained guard by scaring him. They aren't sure if she should be charged or not.
Enid wonders when this will end.
The Queen is nice to look at, at least. Enid consoles herself with looking at the fine silk and leather of her dress. She's pretty sure she actually knows the man that made it. Some farmer-semester who takes commissions. Enid should visit sometime.
She watches as the Queen tells off some idiot for suggesting something. She's not paying attention as to why.
She forces herself to look at everyone but the only person she wants to look at.
She wonders what's for dinner.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The Queen's room is fucking cold, all the time. She understands that she likes feeling like a corpse, but Enid is about to lose her fucking mind. The metal of her armor is just becoming ice with how cold it is.
But she needs to wear it to keep them both safe, and it's rude to be unarmored as a guard. So, she sucks it up and calmly sits in the corner while her Majesty writes letters. She writes a lot. Enid wonders what they could be about.
"Blah, blah, blah, everything sucks and I'm mad." She mutters under her breath. That's what she thinks the letters say. What she likes to imagine, anyway. It's more fun than just staring at the wall.
She jolts when a voice speaks.
"Are you alright?" The Queen is facing her now. Dark eyes making her stomach knot and twist.
"Huh?" She asks.
"You've been glaring a hole in the wall for some time." The Queen blinks.
The knight nods.
"Yeah. I'm okay."
The Royal stares at her with an intensity that has her skin feeling hot under her armor.
"If you're lying, confess now. I will not have deceivers guarding me."
They have a staring contest for a few clock-ticks.
Tock.
Tock.
Tock.
Tock.
"Okayyyyyyyyy," Enid drawls, embarrassed. "I may have lied." She lifts up pinched fingers. "Just a little."
The Queen raises an eyebrow when she doesn't elaborate.
"Speak the truth, then."
"Well." She shuffles foot-to-foot, caught and flustered. "It's cold and I am so bored." Her voice gets whiny and she suddenly has the urge to scratch her neck with her sword.
"Cold?"
"My armor is made of iron and I'm in a freezing cold room. I'm in an ice block." She tries to keep her tone respectful. She hopes she's done it well.
"And bored?"
"With all due respect, I need enrichment. I feel like a horse not being given its sugar cube." Enid mopes, her ears dropping.
"Ah." The Queen says, calmly. She turns and grabs a paper, holding it out. "Here."
"What?" The Queen holds the paper aloft. Enid cautiously walks over, expecting rebuke with each step. She gingerly takes the written-on paper. Their hands bush.
"Help me review my letters. Be my aide. And take your armor off if it's distressing you." Enid swallows her spit and nods.
"Uh... are you sure? I thought it was bad to be unarmored. Rude."
"When have I ever been one to obey social norms?"
Enid presses her lips into a line. "Fair enough." She slowly takes off her armor, careful to not be too loud or damage the fine-crafted plating.
"I'm not the best writer," she takes a paper. "I don't think I could help you."
"Your eyes are better than mine. You could see something that I couldn't." Enid looks at the paper. She hands it back, pointing at a spot near the middle.
"You missed three letters and a period." A pause. "Ma'am."
"This will benefit us both." She takes the paper back, fixing her mistakes. "Unless you will tire of aiding me?"
Enid sits on the floor, crossing her legs so her sword's sheath doesn't sit at an angle and pop out.
"I don't think I could." She takes a paper, reading all the loopy characters and fancy words. "You're fun to be around."
She's warm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
They're out on an excursion through some big-ass forest. Something about land markings and fruits. She didn't pay attention; she was focused on their hands touching while holding the horse reins.
("I am capable of controlling my own horses."
"I don't doubt you, your Majesty," Enid lifts her hands to placate, "but I don't think it's possible for you to take two separate reins and guide both horses smoothly. Ma'am."
The Queen scoffed. "Fine. The point you make has some sense. But you are the only allowed to aid me," she turned back to the wagon, climbing on, "should anyone attempt to remove you of your post, full permission to fight them."
Enid nodded. "Yes, your Majesty.")
The Queen's hand brushes hers every four gallops. Every 8 or so seconds. The cold of her skin against the warmth of Enid's is oddly soothing.
"We need to go left, there's a large amount of apple trees."
"Yes, your Majesty." She leans to the side to lead the horses correctly, and pushes their arms together.
"Sorry." She whispers, almost hoping the Royal doesn't notice.
"It's fine, Enid." The horses even out as they finish turning, almost falling off as they go up a hill. "You're just aiding me."
Her hands are so soft. Cold, too. So cold.
"Right," she agrees, ignoring how much she'd really love to take her Majesty's hand. "I am your aide!" She cheers.
"You're foremost my guard. You are only an aide because everyone else is too incompetent."
"You think I'm competent?" She asks. Her heart smacks her ribs.
"You're the least incompetent." She repeats.
In a rare bout of teasing, she grins softly.
"So I'm competent in comparison?" The Queen sighs, whipping her horse slightly.
"If it will make you quiet, yes. You're competent by comparison."
Enid smiles, tail wagging behind her.
She's warm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
It's night, and the Queen insisted that she needed to go out for crow feathers.
"They hold ink far better than that of a swan." She was told.
Truthfully, she thinks the Royal is dramatic and likes the birds. She doesn't voice her thoughts, though. She'd get left in the middle of the forest if she did.
Enid holds the lantern while the Queen pokes at a fat bird, making it shake and lose a few of its dark feathers.
She waits patiently for her Superior to fill her little wicker basket full of them. It's weirdly nice. They aren't talking, but she feels close. Personal. It's nice to just follow and listen to the final bird calls and animals founding homes for the night.
It's still freezing, though. Her armor is ice-cold against her warm skin, sapping her of body heat. The Queen kneels down, rubbing her hand against the ground, checking for more quills.
"Enid?" She asks quietly, barely above a whisper. The Werewolf jolts.
"Ah— yes, your Majesty?" Her hands are held in front of her, polite and ready to aid.
"Do you..." her hand stays on the ground, but she's no longer moving it. "Do you ever regret becoming a knight? Being involved in royalty?"
"Uh." Enid lets a hand rest on her sword. "I... can't really say I do, your Majesty. If I may ask, what brought these thoughts to you?" Enid keeps her voice low.
"Sometimes I worry if you aren't happy." She rips a rose out of the ground, "protecting me. Being a part of my business."
"I chose to be a knight, my Queen. I made the choice to be involved in everything."
"Do you think you'd be happier if you did other things? A gardener, an animal caretaker. A medic." She places the rose in her basket. She stands up, and faces the knight. "Would anything else make you happier?"
Enid takes a second to think.
She hates the feeling of dirt on her skin, under her nails.
She doesn't have the stomach to handle all the grossness that comes with animals, no matter how cute they are.
She couldn't handle failing someone and costing them their life.
"No, your Majesty." She shakes her head. "Nothing."
She's warm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
She's tired. She hasn't slept and she's been lying, because she needs to be good enough to keep the Queen safe.
Her armor is still sucking in the cold like a sponge, and it's making her sleepier.
It's the middle of the day; why can't the sun warm her at least a little bit?
"Stupid glowing asshole." She grumbles.
"What?" Comes sharply.
"Ah! Not you, you Majesty! The sun!" She explains quickly, waving an arm wildly to the window.
"The." The Queen turns to look at her from her chair. "Sun?"
"Yeah! It's—" now she's embarrassed. "It's cold and yet the sun is out! The big fuc— thing isn't warming me at all!"
The Royal just blinks at her, like she's stupid.
And looking at it: she's blaming the sun for not being hot enough to warm her indoors. Maybe she is.
Just a little.
"If you're cold, just strip."
"WHAT?!"
"Your armor!" The Queen adds, much too late to cool the blood rushing to Enid's face. "Take off your armor!"
"Oh..." Enid bites her lip. She's only wearing the standard tank top and thin pants— the armor is meant to keep her warm, but apparently, no one making the armor ever considered that maybe iron would intake cold and expel warmth.
She slides her sleeves off first, then the chest. The legs, then the armored boots.
It's still cold, but she doesn't want the Royal to get annoyed.
"You're shivering." Enid chokes.
"Uh... it's from... the... excitement of being a guard?" She says, voice rising in pitch.
The Queen stares at her.
"I'm freezing my tail off." She blunts. She wraps her arms around herself.
"Grab a blanket from my bed and get over here," a black-nailed finger points at her bed. "I need help proof-reading."
Enid slowly walks to the plush looking bed, grasping the first blanket she can. It's a raven colored one, thick and soft and oh-so-warm.
She wraps it around her shoulders and pads over to the Queen. She drops and sits cross-legged on the floor next to her chair, taking the paper she's handed.
She listens to the scratching of quill on paper, the quill being dipped into the inkwell. The Queen is a quick writer, she learns. But with that speed, she loses focus on her words and makes mistakes.
After a few hours, the sun goes down, and it's colder than before. The blanket does a good job on keeping her warm.
But is the Queen?
Enid looks up and she's shivering, ever so slightly. Her hands tremble from the frigid air. When Enid gets a letter, there's more mistakes and her writing isn't as neat.
She can hear the Royal's teeth chatter, short bursts of clicks. She pouts in thought.
'Could I convince her to put on a cloak?'
She stares at a tense jaw, shaking hands, and shivering frame.
Her Queen is cold, and it wouldn't befit her to leave the Royal cold and unable to do her job.
She takes the left side of the blanket and stands up, throwing it over her Queen.
It's big enough that she can sit down and still be completely covered, along with her Majesty.
Dark eyes bore into her. She grins.
"So you don't get too cold!" She says, looking back at her stack of papers. She sorts through them, and hands one to the Queen.
"You forgot to sign this one."
"Right." The hand that takes the paper from her is cold. "Thank you."
After a few beats, Enid feels a hand rub in between her ears, scratching at the base of her left one. Her tail smacks the ground.
She's warm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Since then, things have been nicer. The Queen is less cold, snappy. She's not talkative; Enid is pretty sure was born with resting bitch face.
Since their little...
Moment.
She's been calling Enid an idiot less, which is nice. It feels like they're some weird form of friends now.
Buddies.
Enid learns how she takes her coffee, which is apparently some kind of state secret. She was sworn to not telling any other living creature that she likes black coffee.
She's weird.
Enid doesn't mind.
She writes her own letters, sometimes. Never anything too important; she wrote a letter to Yoko. That was fun.
But now she's got a new issue.
She is touch-starved like a bitch.
She already doesn't hug anyone because of the 'it's rude to be unarmored' bullshit, plus wearing the armor constantly, and the only real physical touch she gets is getting hit during training.
So, to have her ears scratched by someone she trusts?
She didn't realize how starved she was until she was given just a crumb of touch.
And she is needy. She is so, so needy.
She tries to ignore how nice it felt, but damn is she a weak-willed woman.
"Enid?" The voice knocks her out of her thoughts.
"Yes, your Majesty?"
"When was the last time you slept?" Enid laughs nervously.
"Whaaaaaaat?" She says, shaking. "I slept on... y'know," she waves a hand in gesture, trying her best to remember the current date and pull something out of her ass. "Friday?"
The Queen's eyes get wide.
"It's Thursday." She hisses.
"Uh..." Enid smiles unsurely, "I took a long nap yesterday?"
The Queen's black eyes stare at her, unimpressed.
She clears her throat. "Sorry."
"You are going to sleep until morning," Enid opens her mouth to convince otherwise, but the Royal makes an 'ah!" sound. "This is non-negotiable. You are sleeping for at least a few hours." She pauses.
"You are of no use protecting me if you're too tired to fight properly."
"I truly appreciate the concern, your Majesty, but I assure you," she flexes her arm subtly, "I am able to fight just as well as ever!"
"So, if someone threw a knife at you, you'd dodge it?"
"Without iss—" s slap cuts her off. She wasn't even aware the Royal could reach her face.
"You can't even avoid a slap to the face. You have no chance to evade a sword swing." Enid rubs her cheek, whining.
"Did you have to hit so hard?"
"Pain is the best teacher." She turns around and faces the bed.
"Take off your armor and get in." Enid stops the passive aggressive comment she feels in her mouth and quietly removes the metal.
It's only once she's once taking off her left armored boot does the truth stab through her sleep-deprived mind.
"We're sleeping in the same bed?"
"Yes." The Queen takes the edge of the warm blanket from the day before and lifts it, sliding under it. "If you are still going to protect me, as is your job, then you need to be in close proximity."
"Close..." she whispers to herself, shaking hands grabbing the side of the blanket. She slides under it, facing the Queen and watching her quietly.
She sleeps weird; arms crossed like a corpse and lying like a log. Enid busies herself
Suddenly, the Royal turns to face her.
"Why aren't you guarding me?"
"I— I am!" She defends.
"You aren't; anyone could strike me. Protect me." She says.
"I— how?" She can't really think of anything else. Maybe she needs to get her sword?
"Cover me." is all the Queen says.
Enid feels her face heat and her heart beat faster.
"What?" The Royal rolls her eyes and takes a hand to grab Enid's arm, draping it across herself.
"Cover me." Enid nods, moves closer.
"Okay." She moves herself more and more, expecting reprimand with her every wiggle.
She's fucking cuddling her Majesty and the Royal is saying nothing of it.
Her heart is slamming her ribs, but this is too nice to let up.
She tucks her chin on her Queen's head, pressing her side against Enid's chest.
The knight feels her muscles relax, going slack and loose.
The Queen is cold, shockingly so. Like a block of ice.
"I'll... keep ya'safe, y'r Majesty..." she says sleepily.
She's warm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Enid wakes up to a body in her arms. She looks down to make sure everything is real, and the Queen has turned to her side and is snuggling back.
She carefully holds her tighter, trying to make sure she stays asleep. Enid would be executed if the Royal found out that she was being cuddled.
Enid holds her so close she can hear the other woman's heartbeat.
She's indulging herself, selfishly. Letting herself get a bit too close for a bit too long. Is it so wrong to want, though?
Ugh. She's been spending too much time with the librarian. She needs to punch a wall, or something. Maybe slam her head into a wall.
The Queen shifts, and all too suddenly Enid wonders if teleportation is possible.
"Why are you holding me?" Is the raspy whisper that questions her.
"You, uh... asked me to? To guard you, and you let me get closer 'till..." she looks at their bodies pushed together, canoodling. Platonically. "This."
The Royal blinks at her, sleepy and adorable threatening.
"Tell anyone of this," she points a finger at Enid's neck, "and I'll mount your head above my desk."
Enid mimes zipping her lips, twisting a key then throwing it away.
"Good." She hisses, snuggling back under the covers, pressing her face right into Enid's neck. "You will stay silent."
Enid has to force her jaw closed to stop herself from making a sound. Comedic timing is so good, but she'd prefer to keep her head stuck to the rest of her body, thank you very much.
She lets a hand rest on the other woman's head, the other falling to her lower back. Her hands leave the chilly skin warm under her palm and fingertips.
She shivers, because it's all so warm. Her skin is well heated and she feels so nice. It's been so long since she last had this kind of affection lathered on her.
She holds the shorter so close it feels like she's burning. She finds that it's surprisingly pleasant. She always imagined that burning would be painful.
She's warm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Things feel so nice. Enid's being hugged again; a small thing, sure, but sometimes after a calm day, she'll get a tight, snug hug from the smaller lady. It's so nice.
She's been one cloud nine for the past two weeks.
"Your Majesty?" She asks.
"Yes, Enid?" The queen doesn't look up from her writing, hands flicking and looping her letters.
Enid opens her arms slightly, some part of her still worried of scorn.
"Hug?"
The queen keeps writing with her right hand, lifting her left arm up.
Enid quickly half-wraps herself around the woman, melting into the touch. It's nice.
"Do you need help writing? 'Cause, ya know, I'm your aide and all."
"Hm. I have nothing for you to aid me in. I was simply reviewing a list of corrections from my advisers." The small royal takes a paper and hands it to Enid, then a quill. "Draw a picture of whatever you wish, though."
Enid takes the paper and sits on the floor next to the queen, hunching over to place her paper on the floor.
She's by no means an artist, but she thinks the black rose she draws looks pretty good. The stem is bent and angular, the petals weird and messy, but she thinks it's nice, regardless.
She looks up and the other woman is done writing, staring down at her with this look in her eyes.
"Creeper," she says grinning, "watching me. Pervert."
"I am your superior, Enid." Her voice is about as sharp as Enid's fluff-covered ears. "You'd do well to not misspeak."
"I'm your favorite of anyone in the entire kingdom." She would never dare to have said any of this a couple of months ago, but it's comfortable now. She knows her limits. "You'd be so sad if I was gone."
"Who said you were my favorite in any regard?"
Enid feels her heart slide down in her chest, her ears drooping. She faces back to her drawing.
"Oh."
She picks her quill up, doodling a little wolf in the corner.
A boot taps her forearm.
"You understand that I was joking, yes?" Enid looks up.
"You were?" She asks, voice wobbly.
"Yes." Cold hands grab her face, thumbing under her eyes. She hadn't even notice the tears building. "You are my favorite in every regard."
"I am?" Maybe she's fishing, but it feels nice to know the royal woman likes her.
"Yes." She leans forward and presses a kiss to Enid's forehead, "my absolute favorite."
Enid nods when she pulls away, savoring the warmth's imprint on her skin.
"Do you want this?" She hands her drawing to the shorter. Small hands take the paper delicately, flipping it to observe it
"I will protect it with my life." She turns and sets it on the table, smoothing it out and gingerly folding it into a little square, then sliding it into her breast pocket.
"Well, I'm protecting you with my life, so I think ultimately I'm protecting it with my life."
"Perhaps," a hand brushes her bangs off her face. "But I would protect with my life."
"Protect what?"
"We must get going, Enid." She stands up and grabs her own sword, pointing at Enid's with her finger. "We have work in the city."
"Yes, Ma'am!" She stands up and immediately falls back down. "I stood up too fast!" She stands back up and doesn't fall this time, grabbing her sword off the queen's bed.
"Let's go!"
---------------------------------------------------------------
"We should get some sheep!" Enid declares. "For blankets!"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because," the woman faces away, slashing a vine with her sword, "I have you to keep me warm." She holds her arms open, waiting.
Enid squeals and scoops her up, pressing her against her chest.
"I'll keep you warm so long as you want me to!"
The smaller woman rests her head against a strong chest. Enid's voice vibrates her bones.
"Hm."
---------------------------------------------------------------
("Your Highness?"
"Yes, Eugene?"
"Permission to speak freely?"
"Granted."
"Why Enid? She was hardly the best choice, and our near-conflict with Barclay is over."
"Is it? Or is this all an elaborate ruse to poison me? Or you?"
"Your Majesty, I have seen how you look at her."
"I have no idea what you speak of."
"I won't say a word, just... be careful. Enid's not the best knight, but she's a good person. I'd hate to see her hurt."
"As would I.")
---------------------------------------------------------------
"We should get a blanket for us." Is all Enid says into the room while the queen writes. "That would be nice, I think."
The royal sits in her lap, her arms wrapped around her center.
"Hm. Maybe so, though I don't think that would work well." She gestures to herself, then Enid. "Our color palettes are extremely different. Pink and black would fit about as well as you and I." Enid pouts.
"I mean, I think we fit pretty well together." She rocks them slowly, subconsciously. "I think it'd be nice to have a together-blanket."
"I will look into it." She dips her quill in the inkwell. "For now, be quiet; I need to write."
Enid rests her head on the other woman's head, pouting despite the fact she can't see the knight.
"Spoil-sport." She kisses the smaller's head, mindless and uncaring.
They both stiffen, as if waiting for the other to react.
They don't react. No apologies, no sense of wrong.
Enid rests a hand on her thigh, the other on her belly.
They're warm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Okay," Xavier starts in the knights quarters, "I can't be the only one to see how lovey-dovey Enid and the Queen have been, right?" He jabs a finger at the two, chatting while the Royal draws on a map.
"I mean," Yoko tilts her head side to side, not quite seeing it. "Maybe? I think Enid is just easy to get close to really fast. I guess even Royalty isn't immune to Enid's charming looks and sweet words." She sips her blood.
"I think Enid is just really nice and the Queen likes that." Is Divina's only input.
"Well," Xavier throws his hands up in exasperation. "I'm going to spy on them." He begins walking.
Ajax grabs his shoulder and stops him.
"You're going to spy on the Queen? With her appointed knight, who, while not the best in all forms, is by far the strongest, while the Queen herself has her own sword and poisoned dagger?" Ajax asks, snake wriggling under his helmet. "That Queen?"
Xavier stops and glares at the gorgon, reluctantly going back to his seat.
"Well." His jaw tightens. "Shit. Damn."
He drops back in his seat, crossing his arms. "damnit."
"I don't see why you're so upset," Yoko flies her left ring finger nail down, blowing the dust off, "it's not like you had a chance."
"I— HOW. DAR—"
---------------------------------------------------------------
"So, I believe that if we grant ourselves a few hours to explore this area," a quill drags across the forest on the map, outlining it, "we could find the resources we need and more."
Everyone is silent, looking at the situation.
"Your Majesty..."
"Yes?"
The woman that spoke lifts a hand in gesture to the issue.
"Why?"
The Queen looks at where the hand points, referring to herself in Enid's lap, arms holding her.
"She is my guard. She needs to protect me at all times. And sh—"
"And I can do that better by holding her!"
The room gets suffocating, all the air leaving and abandoning them to die.
No one speaks over the Queen.
"What she said." Is her only response. "Now." She points at a lake on the map.
"Here, I know is a valley." She marks it. "I have hope for storage buildings so more houses can go in the main city."
---------------------------------------------------------------
Enid doodles a little raven on the other woman's paper, small and in the corner. It's not like anyone will see it, so she doesn't care.
She adds a little wolf next to it, nibbling it. She giggles. She thinks the queen would like it.
She turns to face her back.
She's writing, like always.
Enid likes looking at her. She's pretty. There's freckles on her nose and cheeks, Enid noticed she has a tiny scar along her jaw.
She could give a perfect description of her.
"Enid, you're staring."
"Sorry, your Majesty," Enid lets her eyes trace the woman's nape, the outline of her shoulders under her clothing, "you're very easy to focus on."
"I would hope so. I must command the attention of any room I enter."
"Well, you do so very well."
The queen hums in appreciation, scratching her quill along the paper.
"Enid?"
"Yeah?"
"Why do you still call me by my title? Surely we're close enough that you no longer feel it necessary."
"Oh..." she adds a snake, "I... never really thought about it, I guess. I always just thought of you as 'the Queen' in my mind, it never occurred to me to not call you that." She shapes a tree.
"...Do you know my name?"
"Yes!" She adds leaves.
"What is it?"
"Wednesday!" She fills in the trunk.
"Oh." She turns back to her paper. She's writing a letter of truce to Barclay. "I was hoping you wouldn't have known."
"Why?" She adds an apple.
"I would've teased you."
She gasps, and adds the apple's stem. "That's rude!"
"Hm. Would it ease my rudeness if I let you call me by my name?"
"Yes," she adds a storm cloud. "It would ease it greatly."
---------------------------------------------------------------
She holds Wednesday closer as they relax. Presses her nose into the smaller's nape, enjoying the black ink smell. There's an underlying sweetness. Like... vanilla. Enid sighs.
"Something is wrong?" Enid nuzzles her, breathing her in.
"Nope," she kisses the skin, "just sniffing you. Enjoying our lil' snug."
"Mm." She grunts, pressing back into her knight. "I enjoy our time." She says.
"I do too! You need to let me paint your nails!" She grabs her hand, looking at them.
"I'll enjoy a bright, sunny day before I allow you to put color on me."
"I mean..." she pulls Wednesday's fingers apart, inspecting them. "Who said I'd paint them any bright colors?" She folds the other woman's hand and kisses the back. "There's black nail polish in some markets in the citadel. Give me some funds..." Wednesday's face scrunches up, turning away from Enid.
"Absolutely not."
"You're smiling."
"Am not."
"Are too!" Enid kisses her shoulder. "That's why you faced away." She leans into the smaller's ear.
"You didn't want me to see it." She sing-songs. Wednesday pushes on her hand, half-heartedly shoving it off.
"I turned away because..." Enid can see her jaw tighten, looking for some snippy comment. "Shut up. That's why."
"Wow, so regal and elegant. Such queen-like behavior."
"I will kill you."
"You wouldn't kill the most competent person in your life, would you?"
"Who said you were any level of competent?"
Enid blinks, grinning.
"You did." She makes a quiet 'boop!' as she taps Wednesday's nose. "You silly goose."
"I am no avian. And I didn't say that."
"Well, not exactly that," she drags her nails down the smaller woman's back slowly. "But you said I was 'competent by comparison' so," she clicks her tongue, "y'know."
"..."
"Come to think of it, wouldn't that make you a deceiver?"
"If you tell no one," she turns to Enid, looking at her face, "I'd be very happy."
Enid leans forward, pecking Wednesday's lips.
"Let me paint your nails and I'll keep quiet."
"..."
"..."
"Fine."
"Yay!
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Y'know," Enid takes the hair-brush through dark curls gently, careful to not damage any of it. "I think you should let me style your hair."
"No."
"That's what you said about your nails!" She takes a section of hair, beginning to braid it. "And look at you now."
"You might have been right on my nails —also, you need to repaint them soon— but my hair is too noticeable to be changed without a reasonable explanation."
"Aw." Enid whines. She finishes off one braid, starting on the next.
"Couldn't the 'reasonable explanation' be that you love me?" She grabs a tie. "Could it be you don't love me?" She says, voice fake-dramatic.
Wednesday goes quiet as Enid begins the other braid, feeling the silkiness on her fingertips.
"Wednesday?" She makes a twist, "did I say the wrong thing?"
"I do love you." Her voice is stony. Hurt. "Did I fall to show you that?"
"No!" Enid walks in front of her, leaning down, "I know you love me. I was joking, Wednesday." She sees her shoulders loosen.
"Good." She sighs softly, "I was worried I didn't express it well enough."
"Any expression of love is enough from you, Honey." She walks back to behind Wednesday, actually starting on her hair this time.
"Is it?"
"Of course," she leans down and kisses her head, "because I know it means you trust me."
"Mm. Maybe I should fear for our relationship in front of you more often, if it means you call me Honey."
Enid drops the half-finished braid in her hand, yelping.
"What?! I didn't call you Honey!"
"But you did."
"Didn't! I called you... funny?"
"Sure you did, dear."
"Ah! See! You called me dear."
"I absolutely did, dear."
Enid drops the braid again, collapsing.
"Wednesday!"
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Okay, I'm starting to think Xavier was right for once." Ajax stares at the Queen, sitting in Enid's lap and facing her, talking together. "That does seem a lil' sweet and loving, dudn't?"
"I can see it." Divina nods, watching as her Majesty gets up and walks into a different room, Enid trailing her. "I still think the Queen is just happy to have someone be close to her without an ulterior motive. I'd be pretty buddy-buddy if I was her."
"Oh, so when Ajax says it, it's a good point, but when I say it I'm jealous?" Xavier glares at Divina, "bullshit."
"I wouldn't think Ajax is jealous of a lesbian couple," Yoko looks at Xavier like he's stupid, "considering, y'know." She lowers her glasses to look him in the eye.
"He's a homosexual himself." She drinks her blood. "Plus, they're holding each other, and they weren't doing that when you said it."
Xavier mumbles Yoko's words back to her in an annoying voice.
"Annoying-ass..." he grumbles.
"Nuh uh." Yoko sticks her tongue out childishly.
Xavier stands up and draws his sword, entirely intent on killing her.
"FUCK YOU MEAN 'NUH UH'?!"
---------------------------------------------------------------
Enid feels her hands shaking as she holds her roses.
She's about to ask the Queen on a date. Something that goes against royal law, and, if declined, could result in her being executed.
She waits for her Superior to get back, having been told to wait in the Royal's room. Something about Enid not being privy to information, and needing to wait.
She hates it. The black roses burn her hands and make her itchy feeling. She wonders if maybe she should leave. Run away. Change her name.
She giggles, nervously, imagining herself changing her name to Rose.
She doesn't think it would fit her. Maybe a color?
"Orange," she says to herself, laughing, "Imma name myself Orange."
"Don't ever change your name. It suits you far too much."
"AH!" Enid almost throws her flowers in surprise, yelping.
"Your Majesty! What are you doing— back so early?"
"The meeting ended sooner than expected, so I thought I would come back." She turns to her chair, pulling it out and sitting down. "Though, I would've stayed the extra time if I didn't hear you saying you would name yourself Orange."
Enid tightens her hold on the roses, licking her lips.
"Uh." She shakes the flowers, catching the Royal's attention. "Rose."
They both blink at each other, like deer staring at an actively flying arrow.
"Rose." She nods. Enid feels like death would be so nice. "Why?"
"Flower." Enid can feel tears in the corners of her eyes, but she keeps smiling because if she doesn't, she will break down. "Red."
"Are you alright?" The Queen reaches and presses a cold hand to her forehead. "You don't feel hot..."
"You." Enid's teeth press so hard it hurts. "Flowers."
"Do you need a moment?" Enid nods and swallows, turning away from her.
She takes exactly three deep breaths, then turns back.
"Flowers." She's shaking. "For you."
"Oh." The Royal takes them from Enid's hand, clutching them softly. "Thank you. I'll need to get water." She turns to place them in the pot that she doesn't own.
"And a pot."
"Date."
The smaller woman turns back. "Pardon?"
"Flowers. For date." She forces out. "Me?"
Her Superior stares at her for a long, long few seconds. Enid considers jumping out of the window.
"You... wish to romantically court me?"
"Yes." Enid whimpers like a hurt animal. "I want that."
"Then I agree." Wednesday stares at her, thoroughly unimpressed. "Is it that hard to simply ask me out? I thought you'd be braver than that."
"You scared me and you're so pretty, and I was worried I'd be executed in the town square—"
Wednesday lifts a hand, stopping Enid before she gets going.
"Why on Earth would you be executed?"
"'Cause... that's what happens to people who ask out royals and get rejected, ain't it?"
"No? Who told you this?"
Enid looks at her feet, weighing the pros and cons.
"Xavier..." she mumbles.
"Ugh." Wednesday groans, "remind me to kill him."
"What?! No!"
"I think he deserves it."
"But he's my friends' friend. They'd be sad. So, I'd be sad."
The smaller woman sighs, and hugs Enid close.
"Fine."
---------------------------------------------------------------
Enid takes her to a cliff, overlooking a gorgeous little patch of forest, a large lake in the center.
Wednesday has her head in Enid's lap, enjoying the werewolf's hand stroking her unbraided hair.
"This is... perfect, Enid." Wednesday presses up into the hand rubbing her hair.
"I'm glad!" Enid leans down and kisses the top of her head. "I stole a map to find this place!"
Wednesday laughs, a from-the-chest sound. Enid feels herself fall deeper in love.
"You—" a giggle "—you shouldn't tell the Queen Herself of your crime, Enid."
The knight leans down, covering Wednesday from the sun.
"Oh, but the queen won't turn me in for my crimes."
Wednesday pushes up.
"Oh, but she would. She took an oath to never allow crime."
Enid hunches further until their lips are almost touching.
"Oh, but I think the queen loves me too much."
Wednesday glares, the effect ruined by her smiling.
"I can't argue there." She presses their lips together.
She drags her nails lightly across Wednesday's scalp, grinning when the other woman groans softly.
"You like it when I scratch your head?"
"Yes." She pushes into Enid's nails, melting. "Very much."
"Aw. You're just a lil' black cat, aren't you?" Enid starts scratching her jaw, cooing. "Just a lil' guy, can't hurt no one. Pretty girl."
"I'm not an animal, mutt."
"D'aw, does Kitty got claws? Huh?" Enid scratches down her chest. "Lil' baby. Dumby."
"I am not an infant, nor unintelligent, Sinclair." She pouts and flips on her side, ignoring Enid.
Enid pokes her cheek with a finger, giggling at the jutting-out lips.
"You're pouting." She sings, teasingly. "You don't like being called a kitten? Huh? Lil' baby."
"I am no infant, Enid." She glares at the finger poking her. "And if you don't stop poking me, I'll bite your finger."
"Go ahead, it won't hurt." She places her finger right to Wednesday's mouth.
"It will if I bite it off." Enid pulls her finger back just as Wednesday chomps. She can hear the other woman's teeth click.
"Wednesday!" She puts her hand on her chest, fake-hurt. "How could you? After everything we've been through?!" She wipes a finger under her eye.
Her finger is completely dry.
"What have we been through, though?" Wednesday rolls back. "Nothing dangerous has happened."
"This whole me-guarding-you thing happened because of a threat." Enid pushes the smaller woman's hair being her ear, admiring her jaw. "You never told me what happened. Are we still in a near-war with the Barclay kingdom?"
Wednesday's eyes get huge and remind Enid even more of a black cat. She rolls onto her side.
"Wednesday?"
Wednesday starts to fake snoring; a loud, nasally noise.
"Wednesday!" Enid shakes her shoulder, giggling at her silliness. "What happened?" She gasps falsely, and covers her mouth. "Did Bianca die?"
"No."
"Then what happened?"
"...our conflict ended almost immediately."
"Wha?"
"I received a letter of temporary truce after we got back from finding the apple trees."
"That was, like... two weeks into me guarding you. I've been guarding you for four months." Enid narrows her eyes in suspicion. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Enid, we must go back to the castle." Wednesday stands up and starts walking away, back to their horses. "I feel deathly ill."
Enid grabs her wrist and yanks her down, pulling the smaller woman into her arms.
"No, you don't. Tell me why."
Wednesday stares at her for a moment, then tries to escape like a trapped dog. Making the same noises, too.
When that doesn't work, she slumps and looks down.
"I..." she looks at Enid's arm. "I liked having you around. You made things... better. For me."
"Wednesday..." she leans down and kisses her jaw, melting at her words. "You don't need to hide that you love me, from me. I like hearing that."
"I need you to feel safe around me." She doesn't look at Enid; staring at the grass. "How can I make you feel protected if I'm weak?"
"Firstly, I'm your guard—" she boops her nose, "—and secondly, I feel safer when you're open. It means we have no reason to hide ourselves."
"Hm." Wednesday presses against Enid's arm, and this time the knight lets her get up
"Can we go back to the castle, though?" Wednesday offers her a hand. "I'd like to be held."
Enid takes her hand and pulls her down, picking her up into a bridal carry as she stands up.
"I get to carry you." She says smugly.
Wednesday snuggles into her chest, against the soft shirt she wears.
"Okay."
---------------------------------------------------------------
Enid pushes Wednesday face into her neck, smiling at the way the other wraps her arms around the knight.
The werewolf rubs slow, calming circles on her back, feeling the fine texture of silk against her fingertips.
"Wednesday? You awake?"
"Yes, Enid. Why do you ask?"
"Nothin', just wanted to see." She leans down and kisses dark hair. "I love you, you know? So sweet. And nice. And pretty. So pretty."
"I'm pleased to hear my genes make you happy, Sinclair."
Enid grabs her leg and slides her up, staring her in the eyes when they're eye-level.
"Y'know, you said I shouldn't change my name from Enid—"
"And you shouldn't."
"—but you never said anything about changing my last name."
Wednesday hums and closes her eyes, adorably sleepy.
"And what would you change it to, if I let you?" She nips at Enid's jaw.
"Addams."
Wednesday's eyes pop open.
"What?"
"I'd change it to Addams." She kisses the other's forehead. "If you'd let me."
"Did you just... propose?"
"Yes."
The smaller woman stares unblinkingly at her, shocked.
"It's too late for this conversation. We'll talk in the morning."
"Okay, Wednesday."
"I love you, Enid."
"I love you too, Sweetheart."
-Writer Anon.
I'm finally awake, took a quick power nap while my phone charged and I think I'm sick
But it don't MATTER BC THE WENCLAIR??
Yknow what this all makes me think? That Wednesday fell first. You're telling me, she chooses not to have the best guard to protect her for totally normal reasons? Despite being known as pragmatic? Mmm okay
Totally normal behavior, totally not pining or anything that would be ubsurd
And then the slow thawing of professional and unprofessional makes my heart absolutely soft. I see a pattern in your works tho, that one bed? 😏 Ik what you are writer anon, Ik what you are
The lil comments from the nevermore gang always makes me laugh, I do love seeing Wenclair through other people's lenses, absolute delight to see how either odd or nauseatingly sweet they must be
Enid being so nervous to ask Wednesday out for a date despite being the only one to interrupt the queen, gets to cuddle wednesday and overall be personal.. Man, I totally understand, it's alright Enid we have all been there
The whole work is just.. So fluffy man, no wonder I passed out great after reading it
Yknow it's a great piece of work when it reminds me of how single I am like FUCKKK, WHEN IS IT MY TURN
Also Wednesday being cheeky enough to fake snore after Enid asked what happened with the whole Barclay thing is very funny, thank you for that

Text
Enid, hugging Wednesday: My precious baby Willa, I must protect you. The world is so cruel and dark to small, young things like you and it is up to the big, older folk like me to guard you with all our might.
Wednesday: You’re literally only three inches taller and six months older than me.
Enid Hush, darling and I will rock you gently to sleep while fitting your tiny body in my big arms.
Wednesday:
Wednesday: On second thought, I could do with some additional protection, especially since you’re a big and strong werewolf with so much more life experience than me.

honestlyyyy? i originally wanted her to be more plush but like, she's working not lazy! So have this outfit she has to wear when enid's aware there's visitors.
though she doesn't show off her chest, she actually buttons up the sweater
she's a few inches taller than canon but not bodyguard enid size. She's pretty buff though, just to be able to carry the animals and keep them down when they get too reactive
she also wears glasses! Because her eyes are sensitive to harsh light, both from having blue eyes and werewolf things. Her scars all come from the animals she dealt with. She got pinned once and it lead to the one on her shoulder and the on her neck was a lucky graze of teeth.
meanwhile a very determined cat got her face

ummm could you maybe write some enid x himbo reader hcs?
love your work btw 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Enid Sinclair x Himbo! male reader
Tumblr media
i feel like a himbo is just Enid's type tbh
someone sweet, honest and, of course, gorgeous
Enid is a little smaller than average, and she loves having a boyfriend who's taller than her
finds the height difference between you both hot and also just pretty convenient - how helpful to have someone to reach the top shelves!
speaking of - you're always doing chivalrous things
carrying her books for her, holding her hand wherever you go, holding her bag, jacket, phone
she finds it so adorable and swoons
really enjoys the whole picture perfect romance you have going on
having a tall, goldenhearted boyfriend was literally her dream since she turned 12
Enid, herself, is possibly the sweetest girl there is
for some people (ie. Wednesday), your combined levels of sweetness could honestly be considered lethal
you're not the brightest when it comes to school, so she reguarly hosts study dates
most of the time, you don't get much studying done. at all
but when you really put your mind to it - like, if you have a big test coming up - the little sessions prove really helpful
Enid practically throws a party in celebration when you get an A on a test you studied day and night for
she loves your good heart. you're sweet and thoughtful, but you stand up for what you believe in.
your perfect balance between gentle and determined makes her swoon
loves to pick matching outfits for the two of you, and you wear them with no questions asked just because it makes her so happy
she takes a million selfies no matter where you go and you always stop what you're doing to pose, just to make her smile
if you aren't already a social media addict, she ends up converting you, and you have SO many posts dedicated to her
she almost cries whenever she sees a new one, she lies in bed looking through all the TikTok videos, the Instagram posts
and the highlight you have titled "< enid 3 💞💖💛💕🧡💙"
(Wednesday is fed up of seeing her so sickeningly overjoyed, rolling around in bed)
if you play a sport, she's at all the games
and is SO stealing all your hoodies and jerseys
always steals your clothes - which are all big on her - just because she loves the way you smell
especially with her heightened sense of smell
gets so giggly whenever you're just really cute without realising it
like when you compliment something small or specific on her or just flash a lovely smile
she loves your smile. how it reflects your cheerful self
she loves that you're sweeter than most guys
for example, you never pressure her into anything
you're not so good with words, so you usually express your love through actions or acts of service
sometimes though, you say the sweetest things without even trying
like once, while making out on Enid's bed, you just looked in her eyes and told her, "i could kiss you forever"
she. died
(well, not really. because if she had died, she wouldn't have been able to practically jump on top of you to kiss you even harder than before)
in short - sweet, energetic Enid + sweet, dim but caring bf = perfect couple

“i hate you.”
Tumblr media
hi guys here’s your long awaited wenclair fic after so long. :)))
Summary: (wednesday and enid have stuck to being enemies for a long time. just enemies. only enemies. right?)
pairings: wednesday addams x enid sinclair
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
“i hate you sinclair.” wednesday spoke whilst heavily breathing, sweat dripped from her forehead. Bangs sticky from the humidity in the closet that her and enid were currently in.
“shut up. Don’t speak, it reminds me of who i’m with.” enid rolled her eyes at wednesday’s remark before enclosing the gap inbetween them once more. Soft and longing, needy even, moans could be heard from outside the storage closet. The excitement from the thought of getting caught made enid extremely nervous but also horny?
These thoughts had bothered enid time and time again as she believed wednesday never felt the same, only wanted enid to kiss her but to never EVER go any further as they were just friends. enemies? not even she knew what they were and it bothered her heavily.
unknowingly enids fangs start to grow, piercing almost through wednesdays lip. She whined out and enid immediately let go.
“sinclair what the hell do you think your doing?” wednesday snapped at her as she pulled herself away from enid, she only got so far before enid pulled her close making wednesday feel weightless.
wednesday hated to admit it but enid had gotten rather muscular since her transformation last year, taller too. wednesday felt small compared to her, and the way enid was staring at her made her feel like prey.
“calm down it was just a scratch you’ll be fine.” enid couldn’t hide the growl hidden from underneath her breath, she let it slide out unknowingly as she thought about wednesday pulling away from her. her grip tightened pulling her closer, bruising wednesdays skin.
“sinclair?” wednesday spoke not understanding just what was happening as she felt enids skin getting hotter along with her breath.
“why do you refuse to say my name, you refuse to even acknowledge me in school. I’m tired of being some person you kiss for “fun”. “
wednesday was shocked by enids words as she had thought enid didn’t mind it at all. “don’t be so stupid enid, you should’ve told me this before. If what you want is to stop then you should’ve told me this sooner.” wednesday avoided eye contact with enid as she normally did. she felt guilty.
“stop it wends, i can’t handle it anymore, please just be with me.” enid forced wednesday to turn and look at her, enids grip softened as she lightly caressed wednesday’s back, longing for her touch.
wednesday looked at enids gaze and put a hand on enids cheek caressing her softly. enid leaned into it.
wednesday couldn’t deny how much pain she felt, seeing her wolf unhappy.
“enid, mia lupa. I apologize for denying you for so long, i couldn’t fathom ever liking someone so i denied it until i physically couldn’t anymore. i’d be honored to be with you my wolf” wednesday closed the space between her and enid, kissing her softly.
enids eyes filled with tears as she finally felt the stress leave her body, instead replacing it was an irresistible heat that she hadn’t noticed before, she felt. hungry.
wednesday noticed a shift in enids body language, she smelt it too. Enids sent engulfed her, vanilla.
enid pulled away from wednesday to breath, it was heavier than before.
“wends, my raven. i think i’ve started my rut” enid looked slightly embarrassed as her and wednesday have only ever kissed and never gone as far as to trigger one another’s ruts, but do to all these emotions she felt it seems shes started.
For some reason this rut felt worse than all the others, she felt hotter, her clothes bothered her heavily, and all she wanted to do was eat wednesday smell wednesdays scent.
wednesday was taken aback at first, unsure of how to help enid.
“my wolf, let’s head back to our dorm okay? the storage closet is no place for such heinous acts.” she pulled enid along by her tie, leading her to their shared room.
it felt like hours before they reached their dorm, enid had only gotten hotter and hotter. As wednesday had open the door enid quickly shut it and practically threw herself at wednesday, leaning her head on wednesday’s shoulder as she began unbuttoning her own uniform leaving her in her tang top she always wore beneath her clothes.
wednesday said nothing as she wiped the sweat off enids forehead, she guided enid to the bed stepping over her discarded clothes.
Enid sat on the bed whining silently.
“wednesday it hurts, please make it stop, it has to be you.” enid looked up at wednesday who was standing infront of her staring down at enid.
“your such a good alpha.” wednesday spoke as she climbed atop enid, straddling her lap. She adjusted herself slowly, yet teasingly.
enid whined beneath her as she felt herself harden.
“please don’t tease me my raven.”

Prompt: wenclair sleepy time
Thank you for the fic request, drunkenbartend! It's a lot shorter than my previous fics but I hope y'all enjoy!
Dinner Time
The sun had just set when she finally arrived home. Wednesday groaned as her back cracked satisfyingly, her coat discarded to the nearby chair. The kitchen light was on and there was some rustling, sounds of pans and bowls being put down. Wednesday hummed as she smiled a small smile, silently creeping into the kitchen. Her body was beat after today's hectic schedules with both her work as the town's head detective and the publishing company's insistent demand on her next installment's draft. She was close to being the murderer. Again.
"Baby!" Enid smiled as she looked up from where she was cutting some carrots. Her wife looked radiant and it was enough for her to slump against the warm, fuzzy sweater clad body of the blonde. Enid giggled as she wrapped her arms around the shorter woman's waist, Wednesday sighing contentedly as she burrowed her head at the crook of the taller woman's neck.
"Busy day, honeybee?"
"Mhmmm, stop calling me that," Wednesday replied softly as her eyes slowly dropped. The tiredness of the day was starting to hit her full force and she wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed with Enid and sleep until she doesn't feel like stabbing people.
"Hmmm," she felt her wife's eyes on her, "Dinner can wait. Let's go to bed."
Wednesday snorted, "Cara Mia, I thought it was food before sex?"
"That's not what I meant!" Enid squealed, her face coloring pink, "I meant you need rest, silly. You look like a zombie and no, we are not going to the cemetery to take a picture. Not now, anyways."
Wednesday pouted at her wife's statements which made Enid grin, "Alright, sleepyhead. Let's get you to bed."
"Okay."
She started to pull out from the hug when Enid grabbed her elbow. Raising a brow, Enid merely smirked and lifted her up until she was carried like a sack of rice on the blonde's muscular shoulder.
"Enid!"
"Next stop: the bedroom! Chuu chuu!"
Her head hit the soft pillows as Enid not so gently dropped her on their king sized bed. Having no energy to snap at the blonde without sounding like an immature teenager, she mustered all the energy she had to glare at her smiling wife.
Enid leaned down as she placed a soft kiss on her gloomy wife's forehead. "Rest. I'll wake you when dinner is done."
"No."
"No?"
"Stay. With me."
"But dinner-"
"Takeout."
Enid sighed as she used her werewolf speed to quickly turn off the appliances unless they wanted their house on fire. Again.
Wednesday smiled as she snuggled deeper into her human heater as the day's tiredness bled away.

joy to my world
summary: wednesday is oblivious that you're trying to steal a kiss from her under the mistletoe that you've hung on her door
You could hear bells chime in your ears as the clock struck at 12 midnight. You happily tossed and turned in your bed before getting up and dragging your lazy feet to the door, grabbing the newly purchased mistletoe ornament before heading out. You ran as quiet as you could, to Wednesday’s dorm with the intention of hanging it there and trying to steal a kiss from her.
Once you arrived, you couldn’t help but hear the faint typing coming from her dorm. Oh shit, you thought. This was never part of your plan – you expected Wednesday to be soundly asleep by now, but looks like she stayed up for the happiest time of the year. Not for her, at least. She was probably too indulged in her typewriter to be bothered by the fact that it was Christmas day.
You tried to be as silent as a rat on the chase, as you hooked the ornament on her dorm door. You knew one tiny misstep and you might as well be dead, so you tried to make as little sound as possible – but all your dreams shriveled away just as you were finished.
A certain area in the floorboard had creaked just as you tried to step away. More creaks came when you tried to run away – oh, you were so done for. Not even 5 seconds in and you could hear the door swing open and the ravenette looking through the corridors of Ophelia Hall just to narrowly see your oversized pajamas duck behind a wall.
“y/n, come out. There’s no point in hiding from my plane of vision,” Wednesday said, as curt as ever. You headed to her obediently, blowing a quiet raspberry as you knew you had been caught red-handed. “Sorry” was all that came out of your mouth as you hanged your head down, refusing to make eye contact with the raven.
“y/n, I know that we’re each other’s, but what exactly are you trying to pull off this time?” she sighed, following your gaze up to the mistletoe that hung on her door.
“What ev-” you interrupted Wednesday’s question by pulling her to you by the middle of her striped cardigan, but her highly sensible reflexes had her pull away when her lips were inches before yours. Although you were way taller than her, she somehow managed to avoid your attempted kiss.
You saw many people kiss under the mistletoe whether it was in shows or in real life, and you wanted to so desperately try it on your partner.
“y/n? Are you alright, mi amor? Are you quenching so much for my attention that your little furball of emotions tried to pull me into lip-to-lip contact? Is that what you’ve been craving so bad?” Wednesday lifted her head to look at your flustered expression.
“No, it’s just that- nevermind, you can figure it out yourself,” you broke free from the eye contact, color still dusted across your cheeks. You were sad that Wednesday rejected your kiss, let alone not know what all this was all about.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next few days continued with Wednesday being oblivious as ever; whenever you said goodbye to her at her dorm, you would always try to lean your face into hers, but always to no avail. Fortunately, Wednesday has been noticing you jumping around in some sort of frustration whenever she gently nudged you away from the attempts.
 And she was determined to find out why.
“Enid, what’s so special about a mistletoe?” The ravenette asked the blonde girl sitting across her on the bed.
“You’re so silly, Wednesday. y/n has been complaining to me about you not being able to take a hint, like seriously? You don’t know what it’s all about?” Enid giggled, pulling out her phone to search for something.
“I think you missed the part where you’re supposed to enlighten me,” Wednesday threw her sarcasm at Enid, who completely ignored it and showed her a scene on her phone. There was a couple and a mistletoe hanging right above their heads, identical to the one you hung on their dorm.
After throwing some lovey-dovey words at each other, the couple pulled into a passionate kiss, the mistletoe yet to disappear.
Wednesday squinted harder at the small screen and had a eureka moment.
All this while, you were just trying to show your undying love for her – but only for her to fail to realise it.
That same evening, she patiently waited for you to come to her dorm. At this point, it has become a habit, and you refused to give up, not until Wednesday understood. When you arrived in your fleece jacket and black skinny jeans, she was already eyeing on your gorgeous lips, like a predator waiting to pounce on its prey.
Now it was Wednesday’s turn to pull you in by your gold necklace, which took you by surprise. It was also her turn to blush, a shade of pink splattered across her freckled features. “I’m glad I finally understood. Merry Christmas, y/n.” She placed a chaste kiss on your lips, smiling warmly.
“Merry Christmas, Wednesday,” your once hopeless eyes had lit up in happiness as your body overflowed with joy.
You’ve never felt more happier with her by your side.
happy new year guys thank you for all the support :))

The Talk
a/n: I hate school, all my classes have me up a wall. sleep-deprived and overworked. Tengoku is from Japanese folklore btw. I can't name shit to save my life. anyway, here's the next part pals
Pairing: Wednesday Addams x reader
words: 2.6k
~~~
There's still a couple of hours till curfew, making the deafening silence in Ophelia Hall odd. Wednesday's grip on your sleeve turned into a tight grip on your wrist. Her fury was almost palpable, making it impossible to not run away. You don't have a clue what will happen, or how it will end and that makes you anxious. The walk to her dorm feels too short but too long.
When she finally reaches the door she shoves it open, startling Enid and Thing. Neither of them turn around, thinking the conversation didn't end the way she wanted. "Wednesday, you can’t just throw the door open like that. You'll yank it off its hinges one day, really." Enid scolds lightly. Wednesday chose to ignore her, instead focusing back on you. "Sit down."
Enid and Thing turn around then, seeing you cowering behind Wednesday and having your wrist held in a tight grip gave them the impression you were in trouble. Looking much like a mother reprimanding her toddler after they did something bad in the store. It would have been an amusing sight for the two of them if you didn’t look close to tears. Enid springs into action, rushing over to you and pushing Wednesday out of the way, "Are you okay?! What happened? Wednesday what did you do!?"
"This is simply the consequence of her own actions, she's fine. Now, get out and take Thing with you." Wednesday answers for you. Enid looks to you, hoping you will answer for yourself. But you don't say anything, keeping your gaze on the floor. Enid deflates a little, she thought you two have reached the point where you felt you could talk to her. Enid thought of you as a friend, maybe that's where this wave of protectiveness came from. "Don't forget Wednesday, this kitty's got claws and I'm not afraid to use them." Enid looks at you one more time before sighing and going to grab a couple of items and Thing.
You can feel Enid's eyes glance over you occasionally, probably trying to extend time in the room. You can practically hear her thoughts from where you're standing, hear the gears working in her head trying to figure out what is going on. You glance up, catching her eyes. You don’t say anything, not wanting to. Giving her a small smile, hoping it will get the message across. Immediately noticing that it’s not enough, you form a fox with your hands.
"This is Tengoku, please don't freak out. I promise he's not going to hurt you. He'll accompany you wherever you decide to go, and he'll alert you if I get harmed in any way, okay?" with that a fox forms from your shadow. It's completely white with the star of David on its forehead and red lines on its cheeks, and its eyes slightly glow yellow. Tengoku stays standing, attention completely on you. He's a head and a half taller than you, taking up abundant space in the room, intimidating Enid and Thing.
"May I touch him?" Wednesday speaks first, not afraid. Erebus was nice, there's no reason this one would be any different.
"Of course," you respond while examining Enid and Thing's reaction. Watching as Enid slowly backs away and Thing hides under Enid's pile of blankets.
"You said his name was Tengoku, does he have the powers of a Tengoku?" Wednesday asks while inspecting the mark on his forehead. His fur is remarkably soft, not as thick as Erebus' but just as soft.
"Yeah, but there's only one, and uh - it's him," you said, surprising Wednesday. How had you managed to get the Tengoku under your control? Just how powerful are you? Enid pipes up next, "Okay, what the heck is going on right now?!"
Walking over to where Enid is and slowly guiding her to Tengoku and Wednesday. You look at Enid and see her wide fearful eyes and ask, "Enid, do you trust me?"
She takes a breath, "Yes" it's a whisper. She's probably still scared of the giant fox that seemingly came out of nowhere. Taking her hand and lightly pushed it towards his forehead, feeling it tremble. Seeing Tengoku lower his head to accommodate the height difference, when her hand finally reaches his head you can virtually see a switch flip. Enid is no longer scared, petting his head, scratching behind his ears, and cooing at him.
Out of the corner of your eye you see Wednesday start getting impatient. Her attention is still on Tengoku, but her demeanor is slowly changing. "Enid, why don't you take Tengoku and Thing with you? It's been a while since Tengoku could stretch his legs."
Enid squeals excitedly, rushing to get dressed in warm clothes and grab Thing. She pauses, "How exactly will we get him out of here without being noticed?"
"Oh, don't worry about him. He can shrink so you can carry him out of here," you explained as he shrunk to the size of a normal house cat and jumped into Enid's arms, and snuggled up. Enid squeals some more before grabbing Thing and rushing out the door, saying, "See you guys later!" with the click of the door your alone with Wednesday.
There’s an odd tension that fills the room. The feeling of unease settles on your chest, the air feeling thick but electric. Keeping your eyes on the door silently wishing Enid would come back. You feel Wednesday's eyes on you, scrutinizing you. Again, you don’t know how to approach this. Obviously, you need to start by turning around, but her demeanor is cutthroat right now. It's frightening to have it completely directed at you.
"Sit down. We have a conversation to finish." Wednesday said, breaking the silence.
You didn't look at her, simply taking a seat on the floor a couple feet away from her desk chair. Pulling your knees to your chest and wrapping your arms around them, an act to close yourself off from whatever Wednesday was making you feel. If you really needed to, you could make a run for it. The shadow of her desk was only inches away. You’re not sure if you’re ready to face the consequences of running away and actually getting away from her.
"If you're thinking of trying to run away mid-conversation there will be a lot bigger issues than just this conversation. I'm not above breaking your legs or chaining you down to make sure you don't escape."
"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere," you muttered, looking up at her. Watching her breath hitch makes something settle in your stomach. Whatever Wednesday is making you feel is heavy and foreign. You're not sure how to feel about it. She recovers quicker than you can,
"Why are you acting like this?" that question confuses you. Is this not how everyone else would react in a situation like this? Wednesday can see the confusion on your face, it's quite comical how you're emotions are so obvious. A small smile fighting to break its way onto her face. Walking to the chair and slightly shaking her head to clear her thoughts. You break the silence as she sits down, "Wednesday, what do you want from me?"
She pauses, not having an answer. Truthfully, she doesn't know what she wants. Were you asking for specifics? Are you asking this to find time to figure out your thoughts? Are you genuinely curious as to what she wants from you? Would you be bothered if she told you she has no idea? Would it be weird if she just wants you? If she told you that she wants you, in whatever way you'll give yourself to her, how would you react? She has a feeling you would run away, that's the last thing she wants.
Wednesday is torn from her thoughts when she hears you stand, quickly focusing back on you. "If you're not going to answer then I'm taking that as 'nothing'. I'll be leaving then." your voice was loud in the silent room. Wednesday started to panic. You can't leave yet. This is not how this is supposed to end, not how she wants it to end.
By the time Wednesday comes to her senses, you're already halfway to the door. She doesn't register what's happening until she feels your wrist in her hands. Her speed surprised you, you never knew she could move that fast. Wednesday's words get caught in her throat, she knows her face isn't displaying the pure desperation she feels. She hopes her actions are enough to get you to stay. They're not.
"I can't give you what you want if you don't tell me, Wednesday." you’re not looking at her. She wants you to look at her, wants to see your eyes. She can't tell what you're feeling if you don't look at her, especially since your voice was even. She can feel your wrist try to wiggle its way out of her grasp, and she tightens her grip in response. "Wednesday, you need to figure out what you want-"
"Right now I want you to talk to me, I want you to stay here." her voice wavered slightly, making you screw your eyes shut and your breath stagger. "I'll answer that question after we finish this conversation. You'll have to wait till then," she said evenly this time, regaining her composure. Her grip unconsciously tightened when you turned to meet her gaze, she didn't like the look you wore. Your face was neutral but your eyes looked tired. She knew that kind of tired. She's seen it on some of her classmates, it's the kind of tired that sleep can't fix. Is the same thing happening to you?
You nod, tenderly taking your hand away from hers. Waiting for her to tell you what to do, not exactly knowing how she wants to proceed. She takes your hand and guides you to her desk chair. You can see her hesitate to take her hand from yours, afraid you'll run away again. Sitting down and giving both of you a moment to gather your thoughts before moving forward. Wednesday clears her throat before breaking the quiet atmosphere.
"Warmth. Explain it to me." you take a breath to answer, but before you could get a sound out she says, "Not the dictionary definition, your definition."
"People give off warmth, as living things and certain things do. To me, it's dissimilar. Sure, they give off physical warmth but to me, everyone gives off a different kind of warmth or none at all. Some people are cold, some people give off gentle warmth, and very few people give off a warmth that almost hurts to be around." you softly explained, feeling rather exposed. Your eyes are trained on the floor.
"Where do I stand on that scale?" why did she have to ask that question. You could tell the truth, but you don’t know how she would react.
"It hurts to be around you," you whispered, voice slightly breaking. Wednesday was taken aback by how satisfied she was with that answer. You were making her soft, so much so that others were noticing. It was nice to know you were suffering the consequences - but it wasn't just that. That answer makes something crawl in her stomach and something bloom in her chest. It was a strange feeling, one she wasn't familiar with. She decided it was acceptable as long as it was you.
"Where do you stand on the scale?" her voice is demanding, the answer is simple though.
"Cold." that surprises her too. Going by your scale, she would rate you the same you did her. She doesn't understand, but making assumptions isn’t the best idea right now.
"Explain"
"I'm just an empty person. I have no warmth, I have nothing to offer to others." your voice is weak, pitiful. Wednesday finds still finds it beautiful. She is still desperate to change your mind, but you seem so deep into whatever hole this is. She's unsure if she can change your mind with this one conversation, no matter how many times she'll disagree with you. It angers her.
"You must be stupid to think you have no warmth, have nothing to offer. I've never heard something so unintelligent, you must be brainless. Say anything like that again and I'll cut your tongue out and feed it to Erebus." that causes your head to snap up, looking at her surprised. Her eyes show fury, hands clenched into tight fists, body slightly shaking. Was that supposed to be a backhanded compliment, a threat, or degradation?
"uh, Erebus actually doesn’t-" she cuts you off, "I'm unbelievably close to grabbing one of my knives and forcing you to shut up." That makes you snap your mouth shut. Scared Wednesday will follow through with her threat. She asks, "If you're so cold why does it hurt to be around me?"
"Wednesday, can we not-" she cuts you off again.
"Answer." you knew better than to test her.
"I'm worried about how I'll affect you. That’s why it hurts." That made no sense. Why are you so concerned about how you'll affect others? Just how idiotic could you get.
"Why are you concerned about me?" Wednesday isn’t sure what she's expecting. There are lots of possible answers to this question.
"I don’t want my lack of warmth to hurt you. I'm worried I'll take all your warmth and you'll be left with nothing. Hurting others hurts me too." it’s said so softly she almost didn't hear you. The explanation isn't exactly what she wanted, it's close though.
"And this is why you don't speak to anybody?"
"yes, I don’t want to hurt anybody" your voice seems to get weaker. If Wednesday wasn't straining her ears she might not have heard it.
"Use me then, I'll provide you the warmth you want." you stand suddenly, chair scraping against the wood. You look furious. It's the most evident emotion she's seen on you. It excites her to know she elicited such a reaction from you.
"Why would you suggest such a thing?!" you're voice is raised, almost to the point of yelling. "Don't ever say anything like that again, you sound psychotic Wednesday."
"You're right, the idea of anyone using me is out of the question. I do enjoy your presence though, I would also like to meet all of your animals. Stay with me, you'll get the warmth you want and I'll get what I want. There are no downsides." you look vexed. Is this not what you wanted? You want warmth, is this not you asking for permission? She is giving you a solution, a good one at that.
You laugh humorlessly, Wednesday really can't understand emotions. You ask, "And you're sure I won't end up hurting you?"
"I can protect myself. You won't need to worry about that," she said monotonously. Wednesday is content, she feels she got the point across. Silence fills the room. A couple minutes passed before you spoke.
"I don’t believe you," you said, walking over to the door. Wednesday is shocked, frozen in place, this is not how this was supposed to go. It's like a bucket of ice water was dumped on her, reality hitting her hard. You pause when you get to the door, not turning around to look at her. You don’t hear anything besides the beating of your own heart, you've never felt so cold in Wednesday's presence before.
"I'm really sorry, Wednesday."
And you're gone, just like that, leaving her alone in her dorm. This was not how it was supposed to go.
Rating Werewolf Designs (TV Edition)
I'm back to chat more about werewolf designs and give my honest opinions. If you want to see my thoughts on some werewolf movie designs, you can check that out here.
Today I'm looking at werewolf designs in TV shows, but only for five shows. Over a show's run, there will be a lot of changes, and this heavily applies to TV shows. Granted, only one of these shows has very drastic werewolf changes from its first and second appearance, so more on that later. If you looked at the tags beforehand or happened to see this scrolling through the show's tag. You'll know what exactly I'm talking about.
Starting off I'll be taking a look at Doctor Who, specifically the series two episode Tooth and Claw. As far as I am aware, this is our only werewolf sighting in Nu-Who.
Tumblr media
I've seen better CGI werewolves, granted this episode came out in 2006, but still. It looks oddly photoshopped in, the right paw looks strange from this shot as if it only had two toes instead of four. The arms look a bit patchy with the fur. I've never seen a werewolf so dog-like and alien-like. Also a bit shiny with the fur. It's not something truly awful, I have seen worse werewolf designs and Doctor Who isn't exactly a horror-centric series. Yet if it ever does decide to bring werewolves back, I can only hope it looks better than that and maybe, just maybe. Pratical.
It's something. It looks more like a saber-tooth tiger than anything else. I can see the vision, but the incredibly long canines feel out of place.
I feel like this would be a very solid design for any other were-creature if decided, maybe change a few things to look like it. This design does have potential to be a solid werewolf, or any other kind of were-creature. A couple of changes can go a long way in design.
Going to the transformation, I have to say. Enid in her mid-transformation state is a solid werewolf that leans on the more human side. Add some more fur, werewolf ears, yellow eyes, fuck her spine up to make her taller and a bit hunched, go for more wolf-ish legs, add some rips in the clothes to reveal the fur. You'd have a good balance of human and wolf. Maybe change the snout a bit also.
(apologies for such poor quality)
The werewolf designs in this show have potential, and I would not be upset if they made some changes in season 2 to it.
Teen Wolf
I'll only be taking a look at three werewolf designs due to just how many designs these shows monsters and creatures had.
Tumblr media
The actual wolf design is nothing special to me. I've never liked it when films and shows had done stuff like that, it lacks uniqueness and it's nothing special to me. Go join David Kessler in the London Zoo.
Onto Demon Wolf Peter Hale, it's funny. It's silly, it is not that great, but it did serve it's purpose for the arc. If anything, it looks like a Hell Hound design if it was in anything else besides Teen Wolf.
Now onto the actual werewolf design. It took me some getting used but since I went into the show not knowing what the werewolves looked like. There was a bit of disappointment on my end when I saw that was it, but I've grown to like the design. I will say, that the Teen Wolf werewolf design serves as some pretty solid inspiration for a mid-transformation werewolf look.
Escape The Night
Shown in the season 2, episode Full Moon Slaughter, we got these guys, and they are my favorite monster in this show, Full Moon Slaughter is my all time favorite episode of that show. So I will be brutally honest when I saw this. I kinda hate how the werewolves look. They look off, the face feels a bit flat, the torso's look at bit strange, and it's just not that great of a werewolf design, but as I said before. It serves it's purpose.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
As of right now I am only on Season 4 Episode 1, so I will only be looking at the werewolf designs from season 2 and 3. Due to the fact I don't want to end this post with an awful design. I'll be talking about the season 3 design first.
Now,
Tumblr media
WHAT. THE. FUCK?
TALK ABOUT A DOWNGRADE. This is quite possibly the worst werewolf design I have on this list for TV shows. How do you massacre something that was such a perfect design? That is not a werewolf, why is the face a bit to human? I swear, if there are human ears like AAWIP, I'm done. I'm walking out.
They had done Oz, so dirty with this design and the fact we had to see it so much. It's awful, the worst fucking thing I have ever seen. Why? Why did they have to go that route?
To end this post on a good design, and one of my favorites. The season 2 Buffy the Vampire Slayer werewolf is so amazing. I love him, this is one of my favorite designs in a show for this beautiful beast. I wish it stuck around, and I can see elements of it in the werewolf design for The Cabin In The Woods.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This design is just amazing and lovely. There are no flaws. I love a well-done practical werewolf, and it's something you can 100% tell actually what it's supposed to be. I'll never be over this design, it's perfect to me. My 3rd favorite werewolf design following the one in Cabin and David Kessler from AAWIL.
Anyway, that's my rating and review of werewolves in TV shows. Maybe I'll do werewolves in video games next who knows? Until next time everyone!
Wednesday Boy HCs
(boys in wednesday x reader)
no mention of pronouns!
XAVIER
- would definitely try to impress you with his art and his powers (did it work? yes.)
- he would always let you sit next to him in mrs. thornhill's class if there were no other spots
- during the poe cup, if you were apart of the black cats he WOULD NEVER STOP LOOKING AT YOU OMG (boy would be flabbergasted)
- his ideal first date is you two hanging out in his art shed; probably painting together
- his fav place to kiss you would be your temple or forehead (i picture him taller than a lot of ppl so forehead kisses are his fav)
- your fav place to kiss him is neck, its easy for you to reach plus it makes him blush like crazy if its front of people
- he loves when you play with his hair, or put his hair up in a bun for him
- he would always have his hand on your lower back; if you were walking somewhere together, or hanging out with friends
AJAX
- he would be insecure about his snakes when you first started dating; he'd mainly worry about them popping out of his beanie during make out sessions
- for his birthday, or any special occasion you ALWAYS buy him a new beanie for his collection
- he would love it when you held his hand in public; its one of his favorite forms of affection from you
- you two sit in the back of mrs. thornhill's class so you're always sharing notes, or doodling on each other's notebooks, or even stealing small kisses from each other
- when you two kiss he loves to put his hands under your shirt, it gives you goosebumps every time he does it
- after the poe cup you, you would go back to your dorm to take the costume and makeup off, but ajax would want to come find you (he just really thought you looked hot in your cat outfit) and when he knocked and saw you open the door still in your costume he was SPEECHLESS- yes this ended up as a very heated makeout session with both of you in your poe cup outfits
- he loves giving you hugs where he picks you up off the ground, with his arms wrapped around your waist and your hands end up going to his shoulders
- he would probably be the type to ask you to the rave'n the day of which just STRESSES you out; enid would definitely help pick out a dress for you tho
- i feel like with gorgons, the more they trust a person the more likely they can't stone them; with that said if ajax ever says he loves you (or gets close to that point) he can take his beanie off in front of you
TYLER
- his whole mood changes whenever you'd walk into the weathervane
- he would definitely memorize your coffee order
- during his shifts he'd probably place his hand on your shoulder whenever he'd walk by you, or kiss your cheek before going back behind the counter
- both of your ideal date would just to spend the day together in jericho; either walking around looking through shops, or eating somewhere for dinner
- i feel like the first kiss between you two would be similar to him and wednesdays kiss in the show
^^^ he'd be closing up for the night at the weathervane and you go into jericho because you were planning on asking him to the rave'n. he never locks the door at night, which you'd definitely scold him for. you go in and you two talk for a minute or so before you start stuttering about asking him to the rave'n. he'd walk closer to which just makes you more nervous, but he would put his hand on your cheek to make you look up at him and silence your rambling. “i'd love to go to the rave'n with you” AND HE'D KISS YOU RIGHT THEN AND THERE. your hands would go to his waist and he'd pull back first- only for you to lean up to kiss him again.
ROWAN
- oh he would definitely be down bad for you before you two even had your first conversation together
- he'd always look at you from his seat in classes, or while passing in the hallways
- you would get paired for a project together and thats how you two got to know each other more
- xavier would be in his painting shed a lot so you would take the opportunity to sneak into rowans dorm
- normally rowan would hate going to his fencing class, scared to be beaten by his classmates, but when he saw you join his class, suddenly that was his favorite part of his day
- he would probably nervous showing his affection for you publicly, so he would always link your pinkies together when you walked, and when sitting he would sit so close to you where there was barely any room in between your bodies
- he would find out your favorite style he wears (button up shirts with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows) so he'd wear it around you more often
- since he was apart of the nightshades he'd always take you there as your secret makeout spot
- you two cant only share one kiss, it always turns into two, then three- before it turns into a full on makeout session
