[T/N] an interesting detail is that the "will hurt and keep living" (傷つけて生く) part is written with the character for "live", rather than being left in hiragana. normally this construction would simply mean "i'll go on hurting [others]", but adding the kanji deepens the meaning to a more existential one ("to go on living is to cause harm")

the "it'd be good to be a rebel" line isn't 100% clear to me. "なれたらいい" can mean "i wish [i] could become X", literally "it would be good if [someone] could become X", but because of the lack of context we can only speculate if it expresses a person's wish to become a rebel, or is meant to be advice to others ["better become a rebel"], so i did my best to keep my translation vague too

0- The title is is Haven; however, it seems that the imagery in the MV & the lyrics also suggest a possible reading of it being Heaven. I think they both can coexist, but Haven is the more accurate translation.

1 - Měilì is a Chinese word meaning beautiful in a feminine sense, it is also a name, it is also used in Nilfruits' other song Haruni which it is used in a similar manner. It may then, be good to consider parallels between that work. Notably, Nilfruits' description of Haruni is "For those who keep living" which parallels various sentiments in this song

2- A blackout here implies that which is used to change from scene to scene upon a theatrical stage

3- Tracing the classics here may imply how people who practice Shodou often extensively practice copying the classic examples of Japanese calligraphy to create a traditional looking style. This is often done extensively before a student is allowed to develop their personal style.

4- 永遠 (Eien) is pronounced Towa, which suggests the homophonic term, 永久 (Towa), which implies a kind of unchanging perpetuity & seems like that the things that cannot be done will always remain unable to be done, its use in this way is regarded as a Poetic Term & an uncommon reading

A Classic Representation

The Greek Portrait is an anthology of English verse translations of eminent Greek poets, from Homer to Meleager, with the corresponding Greek text presented alongside. Numerous translators provided the translations, taking on the arduous task of translating essential works from the Classical Period, including epic, lyric, and dramatic poetry.

This 1934 edition was designed by British fine-press publisher Francis Meynell (1891-1975) and printed in an edition of 425 copies by Dutch book and type designer Jan van Krimpen (1892-1958) at the Press of Enschedé en Zonen in Haarlem for Meynell's Nonesuch Press in London. The text was edited by English poet and critic George Rostrevor Hamilton (1888-1967) and printed on Pannekoek paper in Fleischman Greek and van Krimpen's Lutetia types.

The illustrations are by Mariette Lydis (1887-1970), an Austrian-Argentine painter known for her portraits, illustrations, and erotic engravings. She was a self-taught artist who began her career at a young age and had a history of creating what was considered controversial artwork during her lifetime. She gained recognition for creating lithographic depictions that celebrated lesbian and bisexual relationships. However, some critics of her work described the illustrations as "perverse.” We find these prints to be quite lovely, however.
