Not sure if this is a ubiquitous experience, but for me personally affirmations can only go so far. There’s always been a direct correlation between me doing action-based things and my self-esteem increasing, so I try to keep my promises to myself (study at x time, work out at y time, just doing whatever I need to do even if I don’t have the motivation for it). Someone told me that self-esteem comes w doing esteemable things, and I’ve never forgotten that since. What someone thinks about me (including the gargoyle voice in my head lol) won’t faze me if I have tangible accomplishments under my belt I can refer back to on bad days

These are the funniest hate mails to possibly exist, made funnier by the fact i got them for blazing a post about my birthday asking people to have a nice moment and consider giving money to a commercial free jazz radio channel that relies on listener donations, a kitten rescue/cat TNR operation in Brooklyn, and small artists selling apparel on kickstarter

And now you're increasing my time spent on this app to write this reply, which also increases tumblr's appeal to advertisers because they look at time spent on the app per person in addition to total unique users. I have nothing to say that could possibly be funnier than this. "I hope you get hate mail for the rest of your life" is so cute, it means you want me to continue to live and keep making posts on tumblr.com (which will earn them more money btw), posts the type of which will get people to send me hate mail (which, as previously discussed, also gets more money to tumbr). Yeah buddy, I also hope I get hate mail for the rest of my life ❤️ I hope you specifically keep sending hate mail on tumblr of exactly this level of anger and venom for decades to come because that will mean that the two of us and tumblr will be around for decades to come. I don't usually comment on this matter but the way some of f1 fans obsess over Penelope ( a 4 yr old ) needs to be stopped. There are literal fanpages for her , I don't understand how is that normal . Doesn't matter who you are , a child should not be used to increase your social media engagement . It's disgusting and it puts the child at risk . Stop talking about a child that is not yours using pet names . Kelly needs to do better , her child has a father who very much tries to keep his kid's life private , but kelly is out here posting their location , their trips and everything.

Also some "fans" need to understand that max is Not her father , he's an important figure in that kid's life but he is not her father . People need to let go of their delusions and leave that kid alone .

We should normalize being the average artist who never really goes viral and is happy in their lane creating for their own sake (be it commissions, or art for themselves).

The clout chaser mentality of all social media sites rotted our brain where we can't find value in our work unless it has a big number besides it.

Create for yourself, not to please some elusive algorithm that changes on a whim and pushes you back to square one.

thinking about how much time and mental effort I put into making sure my dog is exercised and enriched every day vs the new (largely north american) trend of never walking your dog because "they get enough during the day" (it's one hour of high arousal sports training) (where they sit in a crate for 40 mins of that) (and maybe a romp in a postcard-sized backyard if they're lucky) ((it's not enough for most dogs)) ((they're bragging about it))

Broke (2016): BBC Sherlock is a phenomenal piece of media and anything that seems like a flaw just hasn't been fully explored yet

Woke (2020): BBC Sherlock is an incredibly flawed series run by an egotistical writer, it never deserved the hype and is actively bad on so many fronts (especially representation)

Bespoke (2024): BBC Sherlock is flawed and bogged down by increasingly poor writing, which many fans refused to see while it was airing, leading to hugely misplaced expectations (particularly for the final series), AND it has the seeds of some compelling characterizations and portrayals, some genuinely solid performances, and touches--albeit imperfectly--on complexities that are still being discussed today (particularly as it relates to the relationship between Sherlock and John). The huge cultural impact of the show has created a massive pendulum effect in its public perception, leading to most people today remembering a caricature of the show (whether positive or negative) rather than appreciating its nuanced merits and failings...that being said Season 4 sucked

Sureley that ought to make Netflix think, right? Are there any campaigns, other than the petition and frequently rewatchting/submitting S2 requests on their form, to make Netflix rethink the cancellation? Similar e-mail campaigns to the ones for marketing Lockwood & Co out to other networks perhaps? Because I'm afraid that even if another company was interested, Netflix might just not want to let the show go? =(
