Living-room, 18/2/24
When sadness overtakes me
There's an ache in my bones.
I bleed the blue of my tears and the green of the forest
There's a pit in my stomach and knives in my eyes
As i sit across a shelf holding the words of my childhood:
'1001 days out with your kids'
A curled up cat carved into an urn
A lego set
A folder labelled 'Safer Places.'
My mouth feels dry
My mum sits across from me
My father's many towns away.
I'll be free of violence and nausea
The aches will leave and, one day,
I will bleed red.

Quote
Every day I get more convinced that I was created for you alone. It is through your eyes that I saw the world; on your lips my poems were born. Without you, my life is a wasteland. I am colorless, tasteless, smelling like a land never visited by rain.

This is why we dance:
Because screaming isn't free
Please tell me:
Why is anger- even anger- a luxury to me?

poetry thrice my good sir? indeed. this one's called 'Midnight anxiety' & i wrote in in five minutes ^-^ enjoy !!
Some nights, there's something wrong:
Your heart beats fast and you can't breathe properly
Uneasiness makes a home in your chest
The air is light around you but suffocating all the same.
Some nights, you swear you're being watched
Some nights, you're not even real
Some nights, there are monsters nearby
Some nights, it happens for no reason at all.

Mohammed El-Kurd, from Rifqa
13: The term Naksa (Arabic for setback) refers to the 1967 War (June 5–11, 1967) between “Israel” on one side and Syria, Jordan, and Egypt on the other. In this war, “Israel” occupied the rest of Palestine (the West Bank, including the eastern part of Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip), Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula (returned in the 1980s), and the Golan Heights (still under occupation). The Naksa marks the second half of the Zionist colonial project.
