Elain hides behind Azriel whenever she’s avoiding someone or something. When Feyre and Rhysand tried to have an impromptu counselling session, Elain zooms into the seating room, moving immediately towards where Azriel is standing next to the mantel of the fireplace, and wordlessly slips behind him. Disappearing completely, not a golden brown curl in sight.
Cassian has to hold a fist to his mouth to hold in a laugh, Nesta and Amren both smirk behind their wine glasses while Mor grins at the stiffness in Azriel’s posture to keep Elain completely hidden behind him.
“Has anyone seen Elain?”
They all say no, looking at anywhere but the Shadowsinger who looks like he’s an ancient statue guarding an invaluable treasure. Which to him, Elain most likely was.

So…
The dynamics of ships… why is Elriel a good fit for the ACOTAR series? Why is it just as intriguing and beautiful as Feysand or Nessian? I’ve written hours and hours of Elriel fan fiction, exploring dynamics and tropes, and I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of their potential.
It’s established that our High Lady is a fighter. Feyre can physically fight for herself. She beat the Weaver which showed her mate that she was worth of the engagement ring and fought the Wyrm while her mate watched. She defended the Rainbow. She even won the war with Hybern through fighting. There are countless times where Rhys has sat back and let his girl go out swinging.
Then we have Nesta. Nesta is feisty and learns to fight for herself. She wields the mask, becomes a Valkyrie, and even goes through the Blood Rite. Cassian didn’t swoop in and save her… he let her fight.
Now Elain. Our girl needed rescuing. She did not fight her way out of the Hybern camp through cunning and brute strength. Azriel swooped in and saved her. And you best believe if she had been plunked into the Rite, Azriel would have come and saved her immediately. She is never incited on physical fighting missions like the Battle of Adriata and the closest she has gotten to blood was stepping out of shadow to stab the King of Hybern.
Now.
Does that make you uncomfortable? Does Elain needing help make you think less of her? Is she weak because she’s not like her sisters? Is that why everyone is wanting another story with a Valkyrie falling in love with a bat boy?? Because our other heroine is too weak and needs to be shipped off to a controlling high lord in spring ??????
This is what frustrates me.
Physical protection and physical fighting is not the only way to show strength.
Nesta was WRECKED after the Cauldron. She was self-destructive and cruel. Elain seemed to struggle but eventually healed through her hobbies and natural processing of everything. Even the loss of her fiancé, she recovered from. She is mentally strong.
Feyre too, has had moments of weakness. She could have physically run out of that wedding, but her mental bondage kept her walking down the aisle. Rhys had to intervene and save her in her moment of desperation. Elain could be walking down an aisle to Lucien right now, but she’s not. She’s choosing her own path and showing mental strength.
The fact that Azriel has rescued Elain physically and the fact that she cannot fight does not make her a less powerful or valuable female. Measuring women by their ability to perform historically-masculine acts is misogyny. She does not need to conform to the masculine power standard of 90’s feminism to be worthy of her own bat boy.
The beautiful thing about Elriel is that they have both been cast aside, despite being loyal to their core, Azriel to Mor for centuries and Elain to a gross human loser who broke her heart. They love even when it hurts. Even when it’s not reciprocated.
This dynamic feeds into their bond beautifully because in each other, they find what they’ve always needed—someone who wants them and sees them and chooses them above everything else.
Azriel will always physically protect Elain and champion her mental and emotional needs, but I believe Elain has the power to save Azriel too; to open up a side of life for him where he is desired and love— where he is protected and listened to and nurtured. A place where someone chooses him above everything else.
This is why Elriel is just as beautiful as Feysand or Nessian. It’s not unequal and Azriel doesn’t need a Valkyrie to “match his strength.” Elain is already strong.

The fleeting thought of Azriel, for some reason, breaking down in front of Elain in private. Pulling him into her embrace and holding his face in her hands. Her giving him constant affirmations of her wanting him and only him. That she deserves him just as he deserves her. That he is nothing short of beautiful and perfect in her eyes regardless of his scarred hands and the blood that taints them. That she doesn’t care about what he does because he’s always been so soft and gentle with her. And that he holds nothing more than the love he has for his found family. That all the good he does for those he cares for outweighs the bad that he commits in the name of sheer unyielding loyalty and love. That he is entitled to feeling his emotions fully with her and to be loved.
Imagine she says things like:
“I choose you.”
“No one but you.”
“You’re the one I want.”
“It’ll always be you.”
“You’re perfect for me.”
“Your scars don’t define you.”
“You’re so beautiful.”
“Allow me to love you as much as I do.”
And they take things to the next level (Elain initiating), especially so she can further show him that she truly does love him for him. And even as time passes, she continues to tell him those things to make sure he knows. To convince him to the best of her ability even if he still would never believe it.
Soft Elain and Az has me wanting to sob.

Death’s Fanged Beast @elriel-month
I love that we continue to get hints throughout the books that there’s more to Elain than meets the eye. From Feyre noting that she showed some teeth, to Rhys observing that Elain’s people pleasing doesn’t allow her true self to emerge, to being the one to step out of a shadow to stab Hybern through the throat. Elain has teeth, and claws, and I cannot wait to see her use them in the next ACOTAR book.
A massive thank you to @/honeyypears on IG for bringing my vision to life for this piece. I wanted Elain to step into her powers, to embrace the dark elements of herself, and to have Az supporting her, as if to say “that’s my girl.”
We’ve only gotten glimpses of the fanged beast that resides in Elain, and I cannot wait to explore her character in her book!
You can find this piece on IG and Twitter

since everyone thinks the feysand bonus chapter mentioning the enchanted gloves means elucien is endgame. I would like to take a moment to actually look at the context of the scene :)
gardening -> what elain thrives doing
getting one's hands dirty -> results in the garden flourishing
the gloves -> stops her from doing that
and lets not forget the abysmal reaction elain had to the gift. if she'd reacted that way to azriel's necklace I honestly do not think I would still be an elriel but to each their own I guess
with all the shouting from the other side I think if we just take a step back and look at the books we'll find that the crumbs are there all along and we just need to wait for the main course :)

Obvious - easily discovered, seen, or understood
Obvious:
Rhys lunged for Azriel, taking Elain from him and gently setting my sister down. Azriel rasped, swaying on his feet, “We need Helion to get these chains off her.”
Yet Elain didn’t seem to notice them as she rose up on her toes and kissed the shadowsinger’s cheek.
Obvious:
Then Azriel tipped his head back and laughed.
I’d never heard such a sound, deep and joyous. Cassian and Rhys joined him, the former grabbing the glass bottle from Azriel’s hand and examining it. “Brilliant,” Cassian said.
Elain smiled again, ducking her head.
Azriel mastered himself enough to say, “Thank you.” I’d never seen his hazel eyes so bright, the hues of green amid the brown and gray like veins of emerald. “This will be invaluable.”
Obvious:
“At least you’re honest.” Azriel smirked. “You and Nesta are wanted down there.”
“Because of the shit with Elain?”
Azriel stilled. “What happened to Elain?”
Cassian waved a hand. “A fight with Nesta. Don’t bring it up,” he warned when Azriel’s eyes darkened. Cassian blew out a breath. “I take that as a no regarding the meeting topic, then.”
“It’s about what I discovered. Rhys said he requires you both there.”
“It’s bad, then.” Cassian surveyed the shadows gathered around Az. “You all right?”
His brother nodded. “Fine.” But shadows still swarmed him.
Cassian knew it was a lie, but didn’t push it. Az would speak when he was ready, and Cassian would have better success convincing a mountain to move than getting Az to open up.
Obvious:
Nesta saw the blow land, like a physical impact, in Elain’s face, her posture. No one spoke, though shadows gathered in the corners of the room, like snakes preparing to strike.
Obvious:
“She made ballrooms into battlefields and plotted like any general. Like you two,” she said, nodding to Cassian, and then, a bit more shyly, to Azriel.
Azriel offered her a small smile that Elain quickly looked away from. Cassian tucked away his puzzlement. Lucien was certainly not here to snarl at any male who looked at her for too long.
Obvious:
Elain just linked her arm through Nesta’s and led her toward the family room, where Azriel stood in the doorway, monitoring them. As if he’d heard Elain’s sharp laugh and wondered what had caused it.
“I was just checking on dessert,” Elain explained as they approached the doorway and Azriel. Nesta met the shadowsinger’s stare and he gave her a nod. Then his gaze shifted to Elain, and though it was utterly neutral, something charged went through it. Between them. Elain’s breath caught slightly, and she gave him a shallow nod of greeting before brushing past, leading Nesta into the room.
Obvious:
“Why don’t you sit?” She leaned against the doorway beside the shadowsinger.
“My shadows don’t like the flames so much.” A pretty lie. She’d seen Azriel before the fire plenty. But she looked at who sat close to it and knew the answer…
Shadows darkened his eyes, full of enough pain that she couldn’t stop herself from touching his shoulder. Letting him see that she understood why he stood in the doorway, why he wouldn’t go near the fire.
His secret to tell, never hers.
Not obvious:
“Well I think Elain avoids her mate because she’s secretly in love with him.”
“Elain’s body was reacting to her mate being around, not anything Azriel was doing.”
“Even though Nesta and Feyre also didn’t have the right wombs for their mate before they were mated, this must mean Elain can’t be with Azriel.”
“If you read five other books, you’ll see that spark always means mates. Except for those times when spark doesn’t mean mate. ”
“One time Azriel’s shadows skittered back from Elain so if you ignore all of the other times the shadows were around Elain it’s clear the shadows hate Elain therefore they can’t be together.”
“Despite never saying he wanted a mate, it’s clear Azriel only wants Elain because he’s just looking for anyone to be his mate.”

If I really was a fated mates author I would have NEVER introduced the “mates aren’t always endgame” plot.
There are thousands of books with the “fated mates” trope and the authors never question its integrity and in the end the characters who are mates end up together (duh)
But SJM questions the mating bond in the books
Why?
To add two more paragraphs?
To give this kind of plot (which has never/rarely been done) to a character whose name we don’t even know?
Or maybe… just maybe… so it could be the main theme of the next book?
And would you look at that… the FMC who could potentially be the next protagonist has a mating bond which has been questioned not once but twice and is currently interested in another guy
What a coincidence

Quick bonus chapter reread. Here are the words used with Azriel and Gwyn:
“It was too late to bank without appearing like he was running” (which he wanted to)
“‘Fine,’ he said, and realized a heartbeat later that it wasn’t a socially acceptable answer.” (Not wanting to chat)
“He didn’t feel like explaining” (Not wanting to chat)
“Spent the rest of the day, even the blasted snowball fight, with every intention of returning it [Elain’s necklace] to the shop in the Palace of Thread and Jewels” (Did not think through giving it to Gwyn, seemingly not thinking of her at all that day)
“If there’s another priestess here who might appreciate it, give it to them. But I’m not taking that necklace with me when I leave.” (Doesn’t really care if Gwyn gets it)
“He wouldn’t go so far as to call Gwyn a friend, but…” (NEED I SAY MORE?)
I don’t understand their romance. I wish I did, it would make this easier, but this left me feeling NOTHING.

Elriel in all the major articles.
"They just want to get views!" "We stalked the writers and they are nobodies so we can't take this seriously!"
Never mind that they like to tout that GA/EL are far more popular but if they wanted views they would write all ships to appeal to everyone or even just write about the ship war. Also they are quick to prop up the 1 or 2 Screen Rant articles that came out.
Elriel mentioned by major brands.
"Our ship gets mentioned too!" Doesn't provide screenshots.
SJM talks about rejected mates and poor mate couples on Today show.
"She means HOAxBeronxHelion!"
SJM posting Guilty as Sin, the most heavily coded Elriel song when she could have posted any other.
"It doesn't mean anything!" They try desperately to twist it for their ship and claim it.
And yah yah, "it's just a song!" but given how little SJM posts to her instagram, how she knows people watch and dissect anything she does like a hawk, how she could of chosen ANY song from the new album (cause let's be real, Guilty as Sin does not relate to her happily married self personally) but chose a heavily coded Elriel song...
SJM Bloomsbury provide the Feysand bonus chapter in the Night Court exclusive editions and not the Azriel BC.
"It's cause they don't own the rights! That's all!" If they wanted to, they would.
Idk man, if my ship was excluded from all these major and far reaching publicities and I kept having to make excuses of why it isn't included in anything significant, I would read the writing on the wall.
And no, these aren't confirmation but it IS very telling and I'll never be convinced that in the major instances (Time, Today show, E!, Spotify that worked WITH SJM) isn't handled by PR/Marketing with Bloomsbury/SJM.

Azriel being a possessive and obsessive boyfriend who follows Elain everywhere. He tells her that he cannot breathe when she’s not near him. He lays awake in agony when they are apart. He waits and waits for her eyes to look at him when they’re in the same space. His shadows are always twisting and writhing, torn between engulfing Elain in a dark, consuming embrace or disappearing to give them privacy. Azriel who says Elain’s name like a prayer, who does whatever she so much as breathes for him to do.

Imagine being alone for five centuries and then you meet this girl who is so self-assured and sweet and she wants to bake for you and listen to you and she needs your help carrying heavy bags of soil and likes to share her ideas for her gardens with you until 2 in the morning. She seems to be the only one who notices when you're late to dinner and has a secret wit that no one else has even tried to know. She's the opposite of war and dungeons and torture and everything you've been forced to acclimate to and unlike your other flirtations, she seems to reciprocate your feelings.
And then imagine that you're told to stay away from her.

Close to Her Chest
Part One
This is the first writing I have ever put out into the world, so please be kind ♥︎
∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴
Elain x Azriel
Our story begins shortly after The Incident on Solstice. I'll do my best to be canon compliant/adjacent but it's been a while since I reread the whole series. I'm not sure how far I'll take this piece, but the only way to begin is to begin.
I'll add any pertinent tags below.
⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱
Even in the dark of winter, Elain found it easier to breathe beneath the sky. The chill of the air had a lessened effect in this new Fae body of hers, leaving her numb but not immediately frozen to her core as it would have before.
More often than not, she found herself slipping silently out into the gardens once the family had taken their leave from the dinner table. She couldn’t stand the flickering firelight of the townhouse sitting room for more than a moment. Having to listen to her family, her friends, happily chattering away while she herself was all but decaying inside… it was enough to drive her mad.
Only a week ago, in the dark of the longest night of the year, the crackling fire in the hearth had been a comfort. A muted backdrop to what Elain had thought would be a pivotal moment in her life, the moment that she chose to take control of her fate.
But now the angry popping of the logs was just a taunting reminder of the silence that fell after.
This was a mistake.
For months, there had been a static building between her and Azriel. It was palpable in the air, clung to her skin after the briefest brush of their hands, was alight in the gazes they exchanged across a crowded room. And yet somehow, it seemed only she alone had sensed it.
That much was clear now.
This was a mistake.
In the aftermath, the pendant lying on her breast burned as though it was discharging all of that pent up static into her. When her trembling fingers unclasped it, placed it gingerly upon the lingering pile of Solstice gifts, Elain felt the static leave her. And ever since, there was nothing but numbness in its place.
This was a mistake.
Wandering amongst the burlap covered plants, her fingers trailing carelessly through the dusting of snow, the numbness of her heart now echoed in that of her skin.
Distantly, she could still hear her family talking and laughing together. Azriel had been noticeably absent from all gatherings this past week, and her stomach dropped at the thought that she was keeping him from enjoying time with the people he loved.
As if the embarrassment and shame around her behavior on Solstice wasn’t torturous enough, the sudden onslaught of guilt at the thought of depriving him of his family sent her knees out from under her.
A sob escaped her lips before she could bring an ice-cold hand up to muffle the sound. Elain had never wished for the ability to winnow more than she did in this moment.
If only she could disappear into the night, stepping out somewhere far from this cold garden path, maybe then she could grant her family a bit of reprieve from the burden of her presence.
A frozen gust of wind whipped around her, and all at once the now familiar sensation of her Sight sparked through her veins. As she felt herself slipping further from her body, Elain’s last coherent thought was a morbid hope that maybe no one would find her out here.
Maybe she could simply drift away, out here in this cold and desolate garden, surrounded by the corpses of the plants she had nurtured and cared for all year. It felt poetic somehow, because unlike her plants which would return vibrant and alive come spring, the feelings she had nurtured quietly within herself for the last year had little chance of surviving the final weeks of winter.
⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱
A week had passed since Solstice, and Azriel had barely slept at all. Immediately after receiving the order from Rhys to stay away from Elain, he had been sent to Illyria to gather intel on the rising unrest amongst some of the more isolated clans.
Having done all he could there, he flew now towards the townhouse. The sun had set already and he knew that his family would be finished with their meal, gathering in the sitting room for the evening.
As he circled lower over Velaris, his shadows began to rise around him, suddenly twisting and pulling against his skin, as if urging him to hurry. They led him not to the front door of the house, but instead deep into the frozen gardens. They whispered She is there! She is there!
Understanding immediately who they meant, he landed rapidly amongst the rows of covered bushes and trellises.
It took mere moments to locate her, and what he saw sent the chill of the night straight to his heart.
Elain, beautiful, lovely Elain, was lying along the edge of the garden path. She had no coat or cloak, no gloves or even a scarf to keep her warm. The snow had formed a halo around her, and as he approached he could see that she was lost in a vision, the whites of her eyes barely visible under her dark lashes.
She had clearly collapsed here, her legs curled beneath her, her hands resting haphazardly in the snow by her shoulders. He couldn’t tell how long she had been like this, but it was long enough that her lips were blue and a slight frost had gathered across her skin.
Azriel summoned a thick wool blanket with his shadows, and hurriedly wrapped it around her as he gathered Elain into his arms. Placing a scarred hand against her face, he leaned in, cocooning his wings around them, desperately willing the heat of his body to warm hers.
“Elain,” he whispered, not wanting to startle her, “Elain, please come back to me. Please open your eyes.”
Her pulse was sluggish, and though he could see her faint breath misting from her parted lips, she did not stir.
In a moment of rash indifference, not caring for what consequences may befall him, Azriel felt himself slipping into shadow, and stepping out in the middle of the sitting room.
“Azriel?”, Feyre was the first to acknowledge him, the others turning in surprise at his sudden appearance.
“Azriel, what-“, Rhys started, before his eye caught on the small figure clutched in his arms.
“I found her in the garden, nearly frozen. None of you noted her absence? No one thought to check on her?”, he was nearly growling now, and still Elain did not move beyond the shallow rise and fall of her chest.
“How long has it been since any one of you has seen her? How long had she been out there alone?”, he continued, simmering rage barely contained in his words.
He stalked over to the fire, his shadows piling on more logs and stoking the flames higher, and knelt before it. In truth, this was the closest he had been to open flame since his hands had been disfigured. While he had slowly grown accustom to sitting in those chairs closest to the hearth, kneeling here within arms reach was another trial all together.
But in this moment, he did not fall back, refusing to release his hold on the slowly thawing form in his arms.
“Everyone, out, now”, he vaguely heard Rhys command, drowned out by the boiling blood rushing in his ears.
“Azriel-”, it was Feyre, gently approaching and settling onto her knees beside them.
He couldn’t form a coherent thought, couldn’t speak aloud the words that threatened to spill from his mouth, lest he reveal the utter distaste and rage at their complete disregard for this most precious being in his arms.
Before Rhys could speak again, before he inevitably tried to take her from him again, Azriel once more placed his hand against her cheek. It had warmed slightly, a soft pink pallor now spreading across her skin.
Elain.
Elain.
Elain.
At this point, he wasn’t sure if he was merely thinking the word or speaking it aloud, reverently, like a prayer to whatever gods might be listening. He no longer saw anything but her face, felt nothing but the steady beating of her heart, and no one, not even Rhysand, could tear him from her in this moment.
Elain suddenly sighed, her eyes fluttering fully closed, as she shifted her body closer, curling against him. As her hand slowly found its way up his chest to the bare skin of his neck, he released a breath and clutched her tighter.
Her fingers were still icily cold, but they were brushing gently through the hair at the base of his scalp. Relishing this close contact, he would have been content to remain here with her in this moment forever. But the fact was that they were not alone, and even as he kept his eyes on her, he could feel Rhysand and Feyre’s on him.
“Elain”, he breathed, barely more than a whisper, tears of relief threatening to spill free from his eyes.
At that, Elain’s eyes opened again, still slightly hazed from her vision but once again warm and so richly brown they were nearly molten.
“Azriel?” It came out as a whisper, her hand stilling against his neck, as her brow furrowed in confusion.
Azriel, let her go now. Let Feyre check on her. Rhys spoke directly into his mind now, the words a clear command.
He spoke back, You can’t order me to do that, the words an echo of those he had uttered only a week prior, when Elain decides she is ready to get up, she will, and lowered his mental shield into place. If Rhysand had something more to say, he could say it out loud, in front of his mate.
“I found you, in the garden”, He dared to brush his thumb across her cheek, “You must have had a vision and collapsed. You had no coat, and were half frozen by the time I got you inside.”
At that her eyes cleared a but more, as if remembering what she had seen. Her fingers resumed drifting through his hair, and she whispered, “Oh…”
“Elain? Are you alright? We’re so sorry, we didn’t realize you had gone outside. I thought you had gone up to bed and-“, at Feyre’s voice, Elain started and pulled away from him, knowing now that they were not alone here.
She couldn’t quite get herself upright, so Azriel reluctantly rose and set her into the nearest armchair, taking just one more moment to tuck the blanket around her shoulders, before retreating. Her eyes tracked him across the room, and he suddenly couldn’t remember a time he had felt so empty, the absence of her leaving him feeling hollow and cold.
Rhysand once again tapped against his mental wall, and he acquiesced this time, bracing for what was sure to be more reprimand and orders.
We will speak about this later. Rhys’s voice sounded flat in his mind.
Fine. He replied, before slamming the shields back into place, shoving out his High Lord more aggressively than ever before.
Elain looked to Feyre then, a numb mask slipping over her face as she asked, “Can you take me to my room please?”
Feyre nodded only once before casting a look over her shoulder towards him and then her mate. Uncertainty shone in her eyes, but she grasped Elain’s outstretched hand and winnowed them away.
Before Rhys could start in on him, Azriel too took his leave, disappearing into his shadows, no sure destination in mind.
∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴∴
Authors note: I always felt that the both of them would be utterly miserable and despondent after Solstice. Poor Elain, suffering yet another rejection, not understanding where she had gone wrong. The feelings of loss and confusion consuming her, similar but somehow worse even than after Greyson. And Azriel, questioning where his true loyalties lie, rebelling against that sense of owing Rhysand for taking him under his proverbial wing as a child, torn between doing what he was conditioned to do and what his heart is begging him to.
I have many thoughts as to how their story could play out. This fic is acting as a sort of writing exercise as I work up to starting my original story that I’ve been mulling over in my head for nearly a decade. If I can keep it together enough to continue, this fic will probably find its way over to AO3 eventually.
Expect to find angst, secret meetings, chance run ins, pining, hidden trysts, and overdue confrontation amongst other things in subsequent installments.

@elainarcheronweek Day 4- Home🩷
“Home is wherever I’m with you”
When I think of home for Elain, it’s clear that her home is with her people- her sisters, nephew, BILs, friends, and Az.
From Az and Elain’s very first meeting, it was clear there was a connection, a comfort. After just a few minutes, Elain was looking to Az for an understanding of the situation and already felt comfortable enough to take her cues from him.
Since that moment, it’s become more and more clear that Az has already become a big part of what makes up Elain’s idea of home. From releasing her from her murky realm, to saving her, to seeking out her company, they both find peace in each other’s presence. Elain never shies away from Az, or shrinks into herself when he’s around.
I wanted a piece of art that represented one of my favorite moments of Az and Elain. It may not seem like much to some, but to me, them quietly spending time together, doing mundane things, is truly what home is. When someone is your home, there’s no pressure to entertain, no pressure to host, no pressure to extend your social battery. Home, while bold and beautiful, can also be quiet and intimate. And it’s exactly why Az and Elain are perfect for one another and I cannot wait to see them continue to find home in one another in the next ACOTAR book.
A huge thank you to @elainemg97 for creating such a beautiful piece for me!! It’s stunning and perfectly captures this moment from ACOWAR 💕

IS LITERALLY WET FROM BARELY A TOUCH
moving closer to him, looking up at him, inviting him to kiss her
consents to the kiss. does everything short of begging on her knees.
hurt and confused when he (unwillingly) rejects her😔
in addition to this, elain
was fearless around him at their first meeting
was curious about his people and his ability to fly
clung onto him, let him cradle her as they flew into the townhouse
"you came for me?"
helped him fight off the beasts after their escape from hybern
let him cradle her in his arms after escaping even though she was relatively unscathed
kissed him on the cheek even when her hands were chained
accepted only his dagger in the war
looks at him with charged glances even after their almost kiss
but suuuure! we'll just never know if elain is into azriel until her pov :(
so sad <333
