Just thought abt the fact that Azriel has loved Mor for 500 years and soon when he and Elain ends up together in their book, Azriel BETTER say something like...

"For 5 hundred years, I've had eyes only on the same female—but she's never looked at me the same way. I spent every day asking the gods—why wasn’t she the one? Why couldn’t they just let it be easy for me? I was angry with them, sometimes. Furious that they never answered my prayers."

"But now I understand... good things take time. The best things require patience. Because the gods weren’t ignoring me. They were waiting for the right time—for you to enter my life. You are the answer to my prayers."

"And now that I'm with you, I find myself praying again—not for something to change, but for more time. Five hundred more years. A thousand, if the gods are kind. Happy first official week of fall everyone! In this commission, I wanted to show Elain and Azriel having a sweet moment together after sneaking off to an empty room. I imagine them having many little moments like this in Elain’s book and I can't wait to see how their relationship deepens once they finally act on their feelings for each other (please free them SJM).

Ofc I couldn't help but want to draw Elriel so here it is 🩷💙 my first Elriel fanart and first artwork on app.

I'm still learning the functions, so don't be too hard on me 🙈❤️. I would like to draw more Elriel in the future too since I had too much fun ♡. I might also try different artstyles since I'm not that experienced yet.

I like the way Elain would fit in his coat, given the size difference and how adorable that sight would look 🥹

The fact that Azriel kept that present on display on his night stand for a year.

The fact that exactly one year later, they had to exchange Solstice gifts privately in the dead of night because the tone had shifted that much between them, and they couldn’t stop touching each other while her mate was sleeping upstairs.

There’s truly nothing more poetic than the boy who was deprived of sunshine marrying the girl who shines like the sun 🥲 I would love to see Elain have a second chance at a wedding in her book, but this time with someone who’s worthy of her heart. Azriel is someone who has been there for Elain time and time again and I think he could be that special person for her.

Thank you so much Eva for bringing this to life for me! You are so incredibly talented and create magic every time 💖 This piece is inspired by Meg’s wedding in Little Women because I’ve always thought Elain is soo Meg March coded.

This is one of my favorite Elriel scenes. It’s just so simple and sweet.

I love how Elain stands immediately as the words leave Azriel’s mouth and he takes a step towards her. Like maybe she was already planning to stand and greet him? Or she’s just that eager for him to escort her out.

Also, another thing I love about this scene? She’s already risen from her seat, meaning Azriel doesn’t need to offer her a hand at all. He didn’t need to touch her at all. And he could have offered her his arm. But no. He offers his hands to her.

And they walk outside, hand in hand. Even though it’s clearly not uneven terrain that he needs to offer his hand for. Even though Elain clearly knows where the garden is. Even though there’s absolutely no reason for them to touch each other. Other than them wanting to.
