About the recent discussion of Elain being a singer

In many regency romances, you have the ideia of what an accomplished lady is by how well she dominated the arts. And how this influences directly in her ability to find a great match. She must be well versed, dominates the languages, be able to draw, dance, sing and play the piano.

So is it a stretch to interpret Elain as a well accomplished lady? From what we know about how her own mother saw her as a way for an excellent marriage, I can see Elain being good at these kind of things.

But my favorite headcanon is not a singer Elain. It’s a Elain that plays the piano. Can you imagine her playing softly, during a Solstice, and Azriel singing along with a deep and sensual voice?

Maybe I should write something like that.

Lucien demanded of Tamlin 'Get her back!'

Not because he loved Elain, or was even attracted to her, but because she was his mate and therefore his property. Though he immediately 'outsourced' the task of getting her to Tamlin.

Azriel chose to weaken himself by giving away his siphon, in order to get to Elain faster. He didn't ask his High Lord to get Elain back. He said 'I am getting her back'. Elain, who doesn't belong to him and who is mated to another. He was willing to die to get her back.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the difference between Azriel and Elain.

Elucien’s and gwynriels are so bitter and pressed.

Ofc Audible & Spotify commenting under elriel videos does not mean they’re endgame. Yet we can still make light hearted jokes about it bcs its fun & we all have a sense of humour clearly bitter antis lack. Not to mention, if it didn’t matter that much why are gwynriels now trying so hard to turn “guilty as sin” into a gwynriel coded song? There is nothing forbidden or guilty about Gwynriel. You can’t even use the “but he’s my trainer therefore forbidden to me” angle as Nesta & Cass got together despite that same dynamic. No one will stop gwynriel from being together. Not Rhys or Nesta. Sure you can make the crack assumption Gwyn is fantasising about Azriel but again. Thats based on nothing. I can make the same claim Lucien is fantasising about Vassa. Gwyn fantasising about Balthazar. It has the same amount of validity to it. If it didn’t matter to antis, then why are they now lying & saying Spotify/Audible have also commented under GA videos…which there was no proof or receipt to go along w that claim. If it didn’t matter - why are antis making fun of elriels for enjoying it? Be secure in your ship. Brush it off as nothing. Same goes for the magazine article.

“Read the books” we have. Hence why we’re shipping two characters with confirmed mutual attraction & desire towards each other, a couple that has a tangible plot, angst & stakes.

Was answering this ask when I realized an interesting (anti-)parallel.

At the beginning of ACOWAR, Elain is in the Night Court, a place Lucien believes to be full of monsters, yet he doesn't do much to get to her except join Feyre when she primes Spring to fall and then leaves.

Near the end of ACOWAR, Elain is in Hybern's camp, a place Azriel believes to be full of monsters, and he sets off on a mission to get her back, completely uncaring when told by Elain's literal sister that he will die if he goes to save her and starts prepping with zero hesitation (and is also the first to notice that she is missing).

Puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

The Mind-Body-Soul type of love

I couldn’t help connecting the three (SJM special number!) with the couples. All three couples have all the portions of Mind-Body-Soul connection. But the more I think about it, more I believe that each couple has a fraction more of each kind.

The Mind is Feysand. How in their book, they are ultimately connected in their mind, living on the thought of each other and for each other. In the Mind portion, comes the I Want You. And that’s exactly what Rhysand was all vibrating: how deeply he wanted Feyre. To be by his side, as his mate and equal.

The Body is Nessian. In this part, the main point is I Need You. It’s the most sexual part, the craving to be connected in the most intimate way. And in SF, we have all their desire for each other in multiple spicy scenes. And it’s clear how badly they both needed each other, both for connection and healing.

The last one is The Soul. That I fully believe is Elriel. The soul craves the mutual understanding and safety of recognition. It’s in the soul portion that we have I Love You. So I expect the next book being about the yearning, the slow burn. My thoughts is that we are not going to see a lot of spicy on this book, but I believe is has the potential to be the most romantic book SJM ever wrote.

While everyone is arguing about whether Elain can sing, or if 'she is stealing from Gwyn!' (because only Gwyn is allowed to sing), and 'Elain already has hobbies!' what I would truly like to see instead is Azriel having a hobby that aligns with Elain's.

What if HE comes to her one day and says 'listen, Elain, I've been trying to grow flowers, but my dahlias aren't coming out. Do you have any tips?"

One day Elain comes to visit Nesta in HOW, and Azriel is in the kitchen, pulling out a pan of buns from the oven, which he baked.

Wouldn't THAT be a nice change? The man having his girl's hobbies, as opposed to the girl taking on his?

I'd like to see that.
