"Please welcome to the stage the beautiful stars of The Three Daughters: Natasha Romanoff, Carol Danvers, and Wanda Maximoff!"
From your seat in the audience, you watched as the three of the most underrated actresses in Hollywood moved across the stage to their seats—Natasha, the furthest away, and Wanda, the closest to friend and Director of The Three Daughters, Scott Lang.
How Wanda smiled and scanned her eyes across the audience reminded you of when she came to your class at University to talk about the process of acting and the struggles of mental health that come with it. It was one of the most eye-opening experiences you had, and you'll never forget the focus in Wanda's green eyes as she answered your question about anxiety.
That day, you learned she struggled with it as well.
Now, here you were two years later, again in the same room with her. However, this time, you're a part of the press and critic members.
You looked to the moderator of the Q&A, Steve Rogers, as he asked Carol the first question of the night. "Now, Carol, I've been dying to know if it was easier or harder for you to come into this role after wrapping up a season of your period drama."
Carol smiles and picks up the microphone in her hand. "Umm, honestly, it was easier." She then breaks out into a laugh as if that was the most straightforward question to answer. "Sorry, it's just the wardrobe for this that was extremely different. All I had to do was wear a shirt and sweatpants for this shoot." Carol laughs again as Natasha picks up her mic. "And she wore those bland shirts very well." Natasha bounces her eyebrows up and down, making the crowd, you, and Wanda laugh.
That sweet, angelic laugh of the woman dressed in green fills your ears as you look at Wanda and only her.
"Now, what about you, Wanda?" Steve chirps up, bringing Wanda's attention to him. "What about me?" She laughs, making the corners of your mouth fly up, as she chuckles. "How was it having a part specially written for you?" Steve asks. You've been following Wanda's career for years now, and to hear someone say that they wrote a part tailor-made for Wanda. Well... that made you happy.
Call it parasocial or attraction or whatever.
But you were proud.
Wanda holds the microphone before herself and looks down to her lap. "Well, it was certainly a new experience..." Wanda lifts her up to face Steve and continues. "I've never had someone come up to me and say 'hey I wrote this for you.' It made me think and go, 'Oh, that's interesting. I don't really... see myself as that soft' and uh-" Wanda trails off as she looks up at the ceiling before squishing her face and laughing for a quick second.
It's adorable.
Her scrunch lifting when she leans back in her chair and opens her eyes again with a wide smile. "It was nice and weirdly comforting in a way." Wanda keeps her smile as she looks out to the audience. "I think that's it." She laughs as she closes out her answer to the question. Her eyes trail over you before she returns them to Steve Rogers, who smiles and asks Natasha the next question.
As Wanda turns her body and listens intently to Natasha talk about filming in New York, Wanda's eyes slowly begin to move over the crowd once more. Tracking back towards you. She rolls her tongue over her teeth before she finds just who she was looking for.
You.
You quickly move your eyes away to appear as if you hadn't been staring at the actress. But slowly, as you glanced back to Wanda, you found her still looking at you. As if she was whispering: "Have we met?"And as if you could understand how her eyes spoke, you slightly nodded.
Wanda's smile lifted a tad before she looked away and laughed with the crowd at a joke Natasha said.
As the hour grew longer and the conversations kept flowing, Wanda's eyes continued to dance to yours. You had no idea why or even if this was actually happening, yet you found yourself blushing, and a smirk became present on Wanda's face.
"Okay, so I think now is a good time to open this up and let the audience ask some questions," Steve says as hands fly up around you.
A younger member of the press, if you had to guess, they ran a podcast of some sort, was the first to get called upon. The person stood up and was handed a microphone by a crew member.
"Hi, my name is Kamala Kahn, and this question is for Carol."
Carol leans forward in her seat and nods with a smile. "Well, I was just wondering if this shoot with a curator like Scott made you want to get back into directing and writing?"
"Well, that's a good question!" Scott speaks up, making some people laugh around the room at his own praise. Carol shakes her head but looks back to Kamala with a smile. "First off, thank you! And honestly, yeah, it has. It made me want to flesh out a brand new world instead of just being it. Ya know?" Carol says excitedly before shrugging. Kamala laughs into the microphone. "Yes, I do. Thank you!"
Carol returns a smile before Steve calls on another person.
You begin listening before you get distracted by the warm feeling of someone watching you. You turn and miss how Wanda's eyes were just on you. However, that doesn't stop you from looking at her in all her beauty.
Your eyes move down to see Wanda cross one of her legs covered in lace and hang over the other one before she sighs, and then the only thing that moves are her eyes directly onto you.
Freezing you even if you should be used to this game by now.
However, the blush creeping up on your face is saved by Wanda, who smirks and slightly tips her head towards the person still asking their question, breaking you out of this moment. And you don't know what comes over you, but you playfully roll your eyes, making Wanda pull her lips into her mouth in surprise.
Or a challenge..?
Regardless, you smile, and the two of you look at each other once more before Natasha answers whatever question was just asked to her.
You raise your hand once Steve asks for another question.
"This question is for Wanda." You smile and say once you get picked upon. Wanda quickly dismisses her smirk towards you and replaces it with a fake heartwarming smile and big doe eyes.
Damn, she really is one of the greatest actresses of our time.
"Go ahead, sweetheart," Wanda says into her microphone, making Natasha look towards her and you with an exciting gaze while people around the room, including you, sharply intake some air you desperately need.
Praise and pet names did wonders to you.
You smile. "I absolutely adore the character in this movie. I think she, like most of the beautiful roles you have picked, is a vivid portrayal of someone who can never catch a moment to breathe or is always on the verge of breaking down. Life never stops for them as much as they want it to." You pause slightly, which Wanda takes as a chance to lift up her microphone. "Is there a question in there?" She teases with a smile.
You give a quiet, embarrassed chuckle before opening your mouth. "Why no, sweetheart, I don't think there is." You smugly reply, making Natasha and Scott widen their eyes. Carol, stop drinking her water, and the audience around you freeze.
Wanda loved it. You could see it in the dark corners of her green eyes. You continue. "I guess I just wanted you to know how you've inspired me and how I am always in awe of you and your talent."
You felt your body become warm at your confession.
You don't even know why you did it, but it was too late. Plus, what questions would you have asked instead?
Hey, Wanda, are you ever going to play a happy character?
Are you still with your boyfriend?
You sing in this movie; could you do more of that? Please?
Wanda tries her best to hide the pink on her cheeks. But Scott notices it, and so do most people in the room. "Remind me of your name?" Wanda says as she eyes you. She remembered it a while ago, but she wants to hear it fall from your lips.
"It's Y/n."
"Y/n." She repeats into the microphone in her hand. You nod. "Well, Y/n, thank you for your kind words." Wanda opens her mouth after smiling at you to say more, but Steve indirectly cuts her off, announcing that the time for the Q&A has ended.
A crew member grabs the microphone from your hand as Steve and Scott lead the cheers and applause from the crowd.
"One last time, please give it up for Natasha Romanoff!" Scott Lang says into his mic as Natasha gets directed to walk off the stage towards security leading backstage. "Carol Danvers!" Carol follows Natasha, but not before waving to everyone and blowing kisses. "And Wanda Maximoff!" Wanda, of course, gets the biggest round of applause and is the worst about receiving it. Her stunned face turns to one of amazement before looking like Emma Stone at an award show and maneuvering her way off the stage.
However, before security can move her backstage, she turns around in her green suit with nothing but a bra and lace underneath it and eyes you.
A smile finds itself on your face as she smirks before waving to you and disappearing.
Moments later, as you wait for your peers to file out of the room, a blonde woman in a grey suit approaches you. "Excuse me, Y/n?" Her accent is heavy.
You lift your head. Unable to place the person's face or how they know your name, you give them a look. "Yeah?"
"Come follow me." Is all they say before signaling for you to stand up. You cautiously do so and end up backstage.
Down the hall, you see Scott Lang having pictures taken of him posing with the poster for his movie. Natasha Romanoff is off to the side making fun of him while Carol Danvers is on the phone with her wife.
"In here." The security woman gathers your attention as she opens a door to an unmarked room. You look to the woman. You're pretty sure she couldn't kidnap you. Yet you remain mindful as you creep towards the door until your eyes peer inside and see Green sitting on a couch.
Wanda in her suit.
The door closes behind you as you enter. Making Wanda look up from her phone. She immediately smiles upon seeing you and sets her phone on the table beside her. "She found you."
You smile and quietly laugh through your nose. "Yeah, who was she?" You say with a comedic tilt of your head. Wanda stands up. "Natasha's sister Yelena." You nod.
You didn't know Natasha had a sister...
Wanda steps closer to you and clasps her hands over themselves in front of her. She's slightly nervous as the proximity between the two of you drastically differs from moments ago. "Did you mean what you said?" Wanda asks, making you lift your eyes from her legs. "What do you mean?" You ask, unsure of what she's talking about.
"Out there." Wanda tilts with her head. "Did you mean it?" You move your eyes down her face to her fingers, picking at one another. You look down at your own hands before facing the pretty brunette again. "I did."
Wanda feels relieved and smiles before sighing and letting go of her hands as she moves closer to you.
"I hope I'm not being too forward or bold or anything, but I liked seeing you tonight. It was nice to have a familiar face even if half the time I spent trying to remember your name." Wanda laughs with an undertone of embarrassment that you find adorable.
"I don't think that's forward at all sweetheart."
Once again, Wanda hears how you use her pet name for you against her. She playfully rolls her eyes and moves closer. Her black heels almost hit the ends of your brown ankle-high boots. You can see the webbing from the lace and how her skin glistens when the light shines on the makeup covering her chest and face.
You can't help but smile while trying to push some thoughts to the back of your mind.
"You know... I asked Yelena to find you because I enjoyed talking to you, but I was really wondering if you wanted to maybe do it some more without microphones and in a room full of people watching us."
You pinch yourself and hold in the yelp when it turns out you're not dreaming.
"I'd love that." You say above a whisper as you move closer to Wanda. Your hand moves down to take hers away from picking the end of the suit jacket. Wanda's breath hitched at your contact. "Great, then it's a date," Wanda says with her voice just as quiet. "Tonight?" She asks as her eyes dance along your face from your lips to your eyes.
"My only plan tonight was this event, so I'm free." You say with honesty.
Wanda nods to your words but doesn't reply as she moves closer. Her clothes melt into yours. Her left hand comes to lay itself onto your top before the door opens.
"Hey Wanda- Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!"
Wanda moves away from you, allowing you to catch your breath while Natasha continues to fumble over her words before Wanda calms her down and tells her that she'll be out in a moment for press pictures.
"I'm sorry about her!" Wanda stays after closing the door and looking at you. But you just laugh and smile. "I guess it helps to know what I'm getting into."
Wanda raises her eyebrows in a teasing manner. "Oh, is that right?" You hum and nod. "Yeah... For Your Consideration kinda deal." You can't help but let a smile break out at your terrible joke.
Wanda will say she thought that joke was stupid when asked about it years later, but you saw her smile and how her eyes shined.
An Academy Award and years spent together made that moment more special.
Well, that joke, and later that night, Wanda's green jacket ended up on your apartment floor.

Tumblr media
╰┈➤ welcome and short message: main m.list hello, my sweet gravels! i am thrilled to welcome you to "whispers of heartache," a collection of angst-filled one shots centered around the compelling characters of natasha romanoff / scarlett johansson, wanda maximoff / elizabeth olsen, and a female reader. this book is a labor of love, crafted from my deep admiration for these characters and my passion for storytelling. in this book, you will find a series of emotionally charged stories that delve into the complexities of love, loss, and heartache. each one shot will be written in the third person point of view, offering a broad perspective on the intense and often tumultuous emotions experienced by the characters. i must share that english is not my first language. therefore, you may encounter some grammatical errors or awkward phrasing throughout the stories. i appreciate your understanding and patience as i strive to improve my writing skills. my goal is to convey the depth of emotions and the intricate dynamics between the characters, even if my language skills are still a work in progress. angst has a unique power to connect with readers on a deep, emotional level. it explores the raw, often painful aspects of human relationships and personal struggles. through these stories, i hope to capture the essence of what it means to love and to lose, to fight and to surrender. each tale is crafted to evoke empathy and reflection, inviting you to experience the characters' journeys as if they were your own. your reblogs and feedback is incredibly valuable to me. as i embark on this storytelling journey, i welcome your thoughts, suggestions, and constructive criticism. please feel free to leave comments and reviews. your input will not only help me grow as a writer but also ensure that the stories resonate with you, the readers. thank you for joining me in this exploration of the whispers of heartache. i hope that these one shots will touch your heart and leave a lasting impression. happy reading! warm regards, G.J ps: i will be adding the first few angst that i already wrote in this masterlist even though it's technically not part of this masterlist. but, it's angst, so...

ELIZABETH OLSEN at the 81st Golden Globes Awards on January 7th 2024 in Los Angeles wearing VIVIENNE WESTWOOD
Elizabeth looked elegant and chic at the Golden Globes. I thought her makeup and beauty look were stunning. The old Hollywood makeup was absolutely gorgeous. I loved the red lip color, it went beautifully with her coloring and the white dress.
I’m a little iffy on the dress. I thought the lace was beautiful, and I really loved the bodice and neckline. I didn’t love the block of white in the middle of the skirt. It was a very pretty look overall.

Dog days are over
Pairing: Elizabeth Olsen x Fem!Reader
Summary: Elizabeth isn’t a dog person… but you are. After the puppy interview, you try to convince your girlfriend to take one of them home.
Disclaimer: English is not my first language. It was inspired by the iconic puppy interview, obviously, but I changed the questions to fit the plot.
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
“Oh, my God,” you uttered at yourself under your breath, immediately bringing a hand to cover your mouth and stop a laugh from escaping as you watched the scene unfold in front of the cameras.
You were sitting behind the expensive equipment among the technical team while you all watched your girlfriend, Elizabeth, sitting in the middle of the room with several puppies surrounding her as she tried to answer the questions being thrown her way. It had been complete havoc since the start, something you had predicted when Elizabeth first told you she agreed with that interview - an internet success, which you had watched many other actors doing it before. However, Elizabeth kept her distance from most animals and you were waiting for the chaos that was going on right now.
What you didn’t expect was that a black puppy would jump to try to bite her hair and just fall on her chest, causing Elizabeth to squeak before she could stop herself. You had to hold your laugh the best you could so you wouldn’t disturb the recording, but you almost slipped when you saw your girlfriend trying to cover up her reaction by laughing and awkwardly scooping the puppy into her arms. You usually didn’t tag along to her interviews - especially because sitting behind the camera all day was boring as hell - but Elizabeth had asked you if you wanted to go with her and you didn’t think twice before saying yes. The reason? That scene right there. A slightly panicked Elizabeth holding an overly excited puppy who was waggling his tail and trying to lick her face.
Well, the fact that there were going to be cute puppies also convinced you to be there.
Elizabeth might not be used to being around animals like that, but you grew up surrounded by them. Since you were a small child, your family had a dog, which ended up coming home pregnant one day and the house was suddenly filled with eight other puppies. Your mother managed to give two of them to other family members before you started crying and screaming saying you didn’t want them to go, and that has been it. You grew up surrounded by dogs. When you left for college, you couldn’t adopt any dog since they took so much time, but you entered your dorm one day and found a black cat sitting on top of your computer, and that’s how you ended up with a new pet. The cat, unfortunately, was already a bit old and he ended up passing away a couple of years after you left college.
Since then, you hadn’t gotten any other pets because you lived in an apartment and had a demanding job that kept you away most of the time, but you loved going back to your parents’ house because they still had many dogs and some other animals - your father still hadn’t explained how they ended up with a tortoise, but you were fine with it.
So, yes, you were having the time of your life.
“Are you a cat person?” The question made by one of the interviewers brought your attention back to the scene in front of you.
When Elizabeth quickly replied with a short “nope” you laughed before you could stop yourself, but luckily you weren’t the only one since everyone else in the room shared the feeling. It also made Elizabeth laugh while she looked around at everyone else and struggled to get the black puppy with the blue collar out of her lap at the same time. Her eyes met yours for a brief second, something that made you smile softly even if you could see the silent ask for help behind her green eyes.
“Is it obvious I’m not a dog person?” Elizabeth wondered out loud with another laugh. “The way you said that like ‘so are you an any kind of animal person?’” She said, trying to sound like the woman asking her the questions. “Are you a bunny person?” She joked in the end, which only made everyone laugh again.
The dog in her lap finally gave up trying to lick her face and ran away to play with his little friends, and you saw how Elizabeth visibly relaxed, having a small break from the cute attackers for once. You were still smiling at her, unable to believe how cute your girlfriend was, when you felt something touching your feet. You looked down and saw that one of the puppies had run into you while playing with a toy and you didn’t think twice before leaning down to pet the cute dog. That was the puppy that seemed the most excited about Elizabeth since the beginning, jumping into her as soon as they saw her, and you received the same treatment as her. That made you smile even more widely and your eyes raised for a moment to see how your girlfriend was holding up before grabbing the toy from the floor to toss it away for the dog to chase.
You could have tossed it to the other side, you could have. Instead, you tossed it right on Elizabeth’s feet and then watched the puppy skid with the little paws to reach the toy. Elizabeth was answering a question you hadn’t heard, her attention away from the dogs, so when the puppy jumped on her again she yelped even louder than before in surprise at the sudden attack.
“Oh, God!”
You bit the inside of your cheek to hold another laugh, but you saw someone giving you a thumbs up for helping in getting that scene. You weren’t sure if your girlfriend realized it had been you who threw the toy at her, although you were praying she didn’t.
“I don’t have a dog,” you heard Elizabeth commenting with an awkward laugh when another puppy tried to get into her lap. She tried to move the first one, but he wasn’t having it, so she reached out for the toy to squeeze it. It was, obviously, the wrong choice because that only made all of the puppies rush to her to try to take it. “Okay, okay, okay…” She repeated the same word countless times while trying to dodge all of the dogs jumping on her and, finally, she threw the toy away, which made all of the puppies run away to get it. “I don’t remember what was the question.”
“You were telling us what are your hobbies,” the interviewer reminded her.
“Oh, yes.” Elizabeth nodded and opened her mouth to reply, only to be jumped by the puppy with the red collar again. She tried to move out of the way, but that only made the dog fall with his paws almost inside of her shirt. “You like the inside of my shirt, I see. You would get along with my girlfriend just fine.”
The laugh that resonated around the room was the loudest it has been since the start of the interview and, even if you were one of the people laughing, you still tried to make yourself look smaller in your chair when everyone turned to look at you. You felt yourself blush and you met Elizabeth’s gaze again just to shake your head at her little joke, but she just laughed and then had to avoid another jumping puppy from hitting her face.
“Since you talked about her,” the interviewer started, “can you tell us about how things are going? You recently moved in together, yes?”
“We did,” your girlfriend replied with a more contained smile. Elizabeth didn’t have a problem talking about you during her interviews - she knew it was going to happen when you both decided to go public about your relationship - but she tried to avoid giving out many details and always tried to change the subject as fast as she could. “People always say we only know who someone really is when you have to share a house with them,” she joked. “But things are going great. Aside from the occasional wet towel on the bed, there hasn’t been any trouble.”
The interview continued after that with the same level of chaos. The dogs kept jumping on her or running around like crazy, there was a poop incident and even a moment where you were sure Elizabeth was regretting putting herself in that situation, but she managed to answer the questions and all the dogs - and Elizabeth - were alive in the end, which you counted as a victory.
Once the questions were over, someone asked Elizabeth to stay in her spot for just a few more minutes while they collected the dogs to take them away again. You had gotten up from your chair since you felt like you needed to stretch a little bit and you were about to pull out your phone to check the time when you saw three of the puppies running towards you while fighting over a toy. Without thinking twice, you sat down on the floor and quickly reached for the toy.
“Hey, now, don’t fight!” You said. They all started to jump to try to get it from you and you felt your legs and arms being scratched with their little sharp nails, but you didn’t mind. It wasn’t their fault and, honestly, you were almost used to that. “Play nice, kiddos,” you asked before throwing the toy away.
To your surprise, not all the puppies rushed to get it. The black puppy with the red collar, that had been among them, decided he wanted to climb your lap instead and that’s what the dog did with his wobbly legs and waggling tail. You laughed happily as you decided to help him by picking him up and pressing him against your chest while you brought your other hand to scratch behind his ear.
“You’re so cute,” you cooed before pressing a kiss on top of his head. In return, the puppy raised his head to lick your chin and you let him do it. “Do you like me? I also like you, boy.” As soon as you said that, though, you paused and picked him up with both hands so you could hold him in front of your face. “Wait, are you a boy?” You turned him a bit to take a look and gasped when you put the dog back against your chest. “You’re a girl! No wonder you were trying to look at Lizzie’s chest!” You declared while trying not to squeeze the dog too much. “I don’t blame you at all for that!”
No one would be able to tell if you were joking or not since you were being so serious while saying that, but thankfully everyone was too busy trying to pick up the running dogs or putting the equipment away before the wires got chewed or something. You didn’t move from where you were sitting playing with the cute puppy and letting her lick your hands and face while all the other dogs were picked one by one to be taken away. You could already feel your chest tighten with the prospect of letting the black puppy go as well, even if it sounded crazy that you had gotten attached to her so fast.
Since you were too busy cuddling the dog, you missed when Elizabeth got up and walked towards you, getting startled when her voice sounded just by your side. “Why is he so calm with you when he was trying to murder me a second ago?”
You looked up and your lips quickly curled in a smile when you saw Elizabeth standing there with her hands on her hips while trying to pretend to be mad. “She wasn’t trying to kill you, babe,” you defended the dog. “She was trying to show you love!”
“That’s some aggressive love,” Elizabeth scoffed.
You laughed. “Yes, because she’s a puppy. She has too much energy. They get calmer when they get older.” Just as you said that, you raised the dog to your eye level again and kissed its snout. “Right, little princess? With a few walks and a lot of plays, you will grow up to be a lazy dog.”
As if she could understand you, the dog barked and tried to lick you again. You cooed and hugged her, but, before you could say anything else, a man approached you while chasing another puppy. You decided to help him out by reaching out with your arm to stop the puppy from running past you, but you still didn’t let go of the dog in your lap.
“Thank you,” the man said as he leaned down to scoop the dog.
“Of course,” you replied before you saw another person bringing a cage. “Where are these cuties from?” You wondered when curiosity got the best of you.
“From a shelter, ma’am,” the first man answered.
“Oh, so they don’t have a family?”
“No, ma’am. Their first event will be this weekend. The shelter organizes a fair to try to find their animals some owners.”
You made up your mind before the man was even done talking. You knew it was insane to even think about it, but you couldn’t help. The puppy in your arms had already won your heart, you couldn’t deny it. Besides, you have been working from home since you got a new job and you certainly had the money to take care of a pet. It could work out perfectly.
Elizabeth seemed like she had read your mind because, when you slowly turned your head to look back at her, she was already shaking her head. “Absolutely not.”
“Lizzie,” you tried to call out her nickname to soften her heart - exactly how you did it every time you were trying to get her to agree with something.
“No, Y/N.” Elizabeth kept her ground, firmly letting you know it was not going to happen. “We’re not taking a dog home with us.”
“But it’s not just a dog,” you complained while raising the puppy for her to see the cute little face. “It’s this little princess.”
“No,” she insisted. “No dogs. No little princess who tried to kill me either.”
“She didn’t try to kill you, I told you that,” you argued and then, because you could feel you were going to lose the argument, you went for your last weapon. A pout. “I promise you I will take care of her, you don’t even have to do anything! I will keep her fed and change the water, and take her for walks, and take her to the vet, all of it.”
“That’s not the problem, Y/N.” Elizabeth sighed. “I’m thinking about all of the mess. And the smell.” She added the last part while throwing a glance at the place where the puppies had pooped before, her nose scrunching adorably when she remembered the awful smell. “Look, I know you like animals, but we’re not getting a dog.”
“Lizzie,” you tried one more time, putting the dog down and pouting as well. It was now or never. “Pretty please? She won’t even get that big and we have so much space around the pool where she could run and play. We don’t need to let her go inside the house even.” Which you know was a little lie since you wouldn’t be able to keep the dog outside, but that was a problem you could solve later. “And I know you like animals, you just don’t… have much practice.”
“And I intend to keep that way.”
You sighed sadly at that and looked down at the dog who had gone oddly quiet during all of that conversation, as if she knew she shouldn’t interrupt. With a sniff, you leaned down to kiss the dog’s head before you let your cheek rest there. It was like saying goodbye to someone from your family.
“Oh, no, are you crying?” Elizabeth now sounded completely in panic, but you had your own emotions to deal with. You just shook your head, clearly lying since you could barely see anything after tears formed in your eyes, but you also didn’t want to seem stupid crying over it either. “No, my love, please don’t cry.” Elizabeth crouched in front of you and you briefly saw her wide green eyes staring at you like she had no idea what to do. “You can get a fish! What about that?”
“Okay,” you mumbled with a trembling voice without looking at her. You didn’t want a fish, although you couldn’t get enough energy to explain that to her. Besides, the lump in your throat wouldn’t allow you to form a phrase anyway.
“My love, please don’t be upset,” your girlfriend tried again, sadly this time. “I don’t like when you’re upset.” All you did was shrug. “I love you so much, my love, but-”
Before she could finish her explanation, the dog in your lap wailed so miserably that it made you hug her tighter and look at Elizabeth again.
Ironically, that’s what broke her.
Elizabeth closed her eyes and pinched her nose for a few seconds before she shook her head to herself. “I can’t believe I’m about to do this,” she whispered while staring at the ceiling above you and then she finally let out a sigh and looked at you. “Okay, fine, you can have the dog.”
“Oh, my God! Really?!” You didn’t wait for her confirmation. You just threw yourself at her, almost taking both of you to the ground, and started spreading kisses all over her face. “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you…” you kept repeating it non-stop.
“Okay, okay.” She pushed you away when it became clear you wouldn’t stop anytime soon, just to raise her index finger while she started listing some rules that you both knew would eventually be broken. “The dog must stay outside, you will take full responsibility for it, you will have to figure out what to do when we decide to travel together, and the dog is gone if she ever causes a single leaf from my garden to break.” Then, Elizabeth turned her attention to the dog, pointing at the puppy and raising her eyebrows. “And I mean it.”
“Did you hear that, pup?” You asked the dog while pointedly ignoring what Elizabeth said. “You’re going home with us!”
The dog picked up on your happiness and started to jump in your arms while trying to lick both of you, but Elizabeth quickly moved away and got up. “God, it has been a second and I’m already regretting it.” Just when you were about to get worried she might change her mind, Elizabeth added: “Wait here, I will see what we need to do to take the dog home.”
“Wait, Lizzie,” you called her before she could take another step away and she turned around at you in expectation. “Come here.” She rolled her eyes, but did as you asked. “Closer.” Again. “Closer.”
“Only if I climb in your lap, but my seat has been taken.” Elizabeth glared at the dog, but you could see she didn’t mean anything by it.
You chuckled and raised your chin. Once again, your girlfriend rolled her eyes although she leaned down to give you a kiss. “I love you,” you whispered when she pulled away.
“You better,” Elizabeth replied with a huff.
“Really, I love you so much.” You pecked her lips one more time.
She sighed and kissed your forehead. “I love you too, my love.”
Elizabeth had just started to leave again when you asked: “Can we call her Wanda?”
“Don’t make me change my mind,” was the reply you got even if she didn’t even turn around to say it.
You only laughed and hugged the puppy again. You could convince her about the name too.

Private not secret | Elizabeth Olsen
Tumblr media
Pairing: Elizabeth Olsen x Reader
Summary: You and Lizzie are both part of the MCU and attend a panel together, what happens when an interviewer tries to press Lizzie to talk about the ring she's wearing when you're keeping your relationship private from the public? A/n: This interview gave me inspiration for the ring part.
Masterlist | Marvel masterlist | Words: 1k
From the moment you first laid eyes on Elizabeth Olsen at the table read for Captain America: The Winter Soldier you knew she was going to be someone special in your life. As you expected the two of you grew close quickly and eventually started dating. It’s been ten years since that table read and she has become the most important person in your life. With both of your celebrity statuses, the conversation of privacy had come up pretty quickly. You had each voiced not wanting to have your relationship to be public, your relationship wasn’t a secret, you just preferred it to be private.
As you were checking out the outfit you picked out for Marvel Con in the mirror, Lizzie walked up behind you. She snaked her hands around your waist and rested her head on your shoulder. She admired you in the mirror, “You look so beautiful, baby.” You smile at her compliment, she always knew how to boost your confidence. “Thank you, darling, you look amazing yourself.” Lizzie held one of her hands out in front of her, “I don’t want to take it off, how would you feel if I kept it on?” You lace your fingers with hers and kiss the ring on her finger. You admired the ring you had picked out for her many months ago, the ring you had chosen to ask her to marry you with last week. “Yeah, I’m good with you keeping it on. Are you ready to go?”
The convention was so much fun, you met back up with so many friends and coworkers. It was rare that you were all together besides filming, as there were so many of you. You also got to meet a lot of fans, take pictures, hear their stories, and admire the art they made. You were on a few panels, most were without Lizzie, while Lizzie had her own panels, like the WandaVison panel with Paul Bettany. To close off the convention there was one last big panel for CA:TWS, there was one big couch and an armchair, for the six of you. The interviewer welcomed everyone to the stage, “Welcome everybody to the last panel of the day, give it up for Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen and Y/n Y/l/n!” The crowd cheered and the first four sat down on the couch, making it full. You and Lizzie look at the armchair which isn’t exactly big enough for two people and laugh, you tell Lizzie to take it and sit down on the armrest yourself. The interviewer offered up her chair, but you assured her that it was all good.
“Thank you all so much for joining us, the ten year anniversary of Captain America: The Winter Soldier is coming up, Chris, how does that feel?” Chris takes one of the mics, “It’s so crazy to think that ten years ago we started filming the first movie of the MCU. I’m so thankful for being able to play this character and how much we’ve got to expand this universe to the big screen and introduce all these new heroes. Yeah, it’s been great.” The interviewer says it’s time for a question from the audience, you turn to face the person standing at the mics and all say hello. “Hi, I’m Ryan, and I have a question for y/n, what is your favorite memory from filming the movie?” Lizzie hands you the mic she was holding, you smile at her and thank her. “Oh, that’s a good question! I have so many good memories from that movie.” Your eyes move over to Lizzie for a moment only to see that she was already looking at you, you smile and focus back on the crowd. “I think I’m gonna have to go with the fight scene where we’re running through an office. So, papers had to be flying off of desks and the amount of times they had to be picked up to be able to shoot the scene again was just so funny.”
Another fan comes up to the stand, “Hello, my name is Ellie, and my question is for Elizabeth. You’ve spoken a bit about your anxiety and I was just wondering how you manage to keep that under control with big crowds like this.” You hand the mic back to Lizzie, “First off I want to emphasize how important it is for me to talk about subjects like these, so thank you very much for your question, Ellie. “Secondly, for me, having people around me that make me feel safe is very important.” Lizzie places a hand on your knee. “For instance, I know that if I were to start feeling overwhelmed, y/n would notice and help me stay grounded.”
The interviewer continues after all the fan questions are answered. “So, Elizabeth, I noticed a pretty ring on your finger.” Lizzie looks down at her hand, “Yeah, it’s beautiful right. it’s a cocktail ring, my fancy ring.” The interviewer presses on, “Is it a cocktail ring though?” You want to step in and tell the interviewer she should stop pressuring Lizzie, but before you can speak up Scarlett does. “Before we have to go, I’d like to ask you all a question. I would love it if we could take a big group picture, would you be up for that?” The crowd cheers. You all kneel down at the edge of the stage so that everyone fits in the picture. “Thank you.” You whisper to Scarlett as you move back to your seats.
Once the panel is over you head to your backstage room with Lizzie. “I’m sorry I didn’t say anything to the lady.” Lizzie grabs your hand in hers, “You’re all good. That would probably have been more suspicious than how Scar handled it. Let’s just enjoy the rest of our night. “You’re right.” You share a sweet kiss before heading over to your friends.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N'S POV Lizzie and I had been together for five years. We met in college, fell deeply in love, and spent countless nights talking about our dreams and aspirations. We were each other's rock, supporting each other through thick and thin.
But how can a perfect relationship turn into a toxic one where we barely talk anymore?
I sit and watch you reading with your head low
I don't know what happened. I don't know how to fix it, it that I didn't even know exist. One second we were fine then the next, we're like strangers.
All I could do is sit here and watch her read the script for her new movie. Reading with her head low and sitting far away from me, almost as if I have a disease. As if there's an invisible wall between us.
We would always sit in silence, her pretending to watch TV or read books, but the tension between us was palpable. I know she could feel my eyes on her, but she never spared me a glance. It was as if she was avoiding me intentionally.
Minutes ticked by, and I decided to make her food. After making anchovy, I gently touch her on the shoulder. She jumped, startled, and looked up to find me standing next to her, holding out a plate.
"I made you your favorite," I said softly, my voice barely above a whisper. "Anchovy toast."
Lizzie took the plate from my hand, "Thank you." she replied before looking back at the script once again.
I simply nodded and sat down where I originally sitting, and focused on my own hands folded in my lap with a sigh.
I wake and watch you breathing with your eyes close. I sit and watch you, I notice everything you do or don't do, you're so much older and wiser
I woke up around five in the morning, the sun hadn't completely risen yet, but the little lighting shone through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. My gaze fell upon my girlfriend, who lay beside me sleeping lightly. The rise and fall of her chest matched the rhythm of her breathing, a calming sight that used to bring me comfort.
As I lay in bed, I couldn't help but watch my partner, Lizzie, sleeping peacefully beside me. I stayed there, watching her for a moment and appreciate the sight before me. But despite the serenity of the scene, I still felt a pang of sadness in my heart.
Lizzie had always been a restless sleeper, constantly shifting positions throughout the night and sometimes even talking in her sleep. But tonight, she was lying completely still, her face calm and relaxed. If someone saw it, they would instantly let it go and think that she's in a deep slumber but I'm not just someone.
I know the truth.
She was pretending to be asleep and it felt like she didn't want to wake up beside me, like she is simply tolerating my presence.
I wait by the door like I'm just a kid, use my best colors for your portrait
They were small things I did for her, but meaningful nonetheless. Always wait by the door every day to greet her, to offer and show her some love and comfort after a hard day at work. I would always stand there, gazing out into the evening sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of my lover making her way home from work. It didn't matter what time it was, or how tired I am after a long day, I always made sure to be there, waiting for Lizzie.
I even took painting classes as it seemed to ease my mind. I poured all of my emotions into my painting, using every color in the palette to capture the beauty of Lizzie's face. I spent hours each day working on the portrait, trying to convey the depth of my feelings for her and I'd use my best colors for her portraits.
Lay the table with the fancy shit, and watch you tolerate it
I had always been a perfectionist when it comes to cooking and entertaining. I would always spent hours in the kitchen, preparing elaborate meals and setting beautiful tables for my lover. I would carefully select the finest ingredients, meticulously prepare each dish, and arrange the table with exquisite linens, flowers, and candles.
I'd make her favorite dishes, lay the table with best cutlery and yet again, no matter how hard I tried, she never seemed to appreciate my efforts. All Lizzie gave back were strained smiles, small and almost whispered hums, and nods in acknowledgment of my attempts, and a whisper of "thanks," as she shoveled the food into her mouth, barely taking the time to taste or savor any of it.
she seemed to simply… tolerate it.
If it's all in my head tell me now, tell me I've got it wrong somehow
Despite my best efforts to communicate openly and honestly with Lizzie, I felt like she wasn't really listening to me, and it made me feel invisible. I began to wonder if I was overthinking everything, if maybe I was the one who was misinterpreting our interactions. Maybe I was being too sensitive, too needy.
Maybe I was the one who was crazy, paranoid.
I felt so alone, so lost, and so unsure of what to do.
I know my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it
I began to feel like I was living in a dream world where everything I created was invisible to everyone else. It was as if I was speaking a language that nobody understood, except for my own echoes in mind.
"Liz," I said with a trembling voice, "I've been giving everything I have to make you happy, but it feels like you don't see or appreciate it anymore. I feel taken for granted."
My choice of words caught her off guard, she paused for a moment before responding. "Y/N, I never asked you to do all these things for me. I don't need grand gestures to feel loved, I thought you knew that."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was this really what our relationship had become? A constant stream of argument and neglect?
Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized the disconnect between our expectations. I had been trying so hard to show her love in a way that I thought she would appreciate, but it had only pushed us further apart.
And it happen, I finally snapped.
I felt a surge of anger and frustration well up inside of me.
Why was I putting so much effort into something that seemed to bring her no joy? Why did I care so deeply about pleasing someone who didn't seem to care about me at all?
I knew, I couldn't keep living this way, constantly pouring my heart and soul into something that brought me nothing but pain and disappointment. I realized that no matter how much I gave, Lizzie would never truly reciprocate and still, I constantly yearn for someone who clearly did not want me.
With a heavy heart, I packed my bags. Our relationship had become toxic, with me constantly sacrificing myself for someone who didn't appreciate me. I knew it was time to leave, before I lost any more pieces of myself.
Before leaving, I took a one last look, the last thing I want to remember was the way Elizabeth used to laugh at my jokes, enjoy our food, take me out on dates. The last thing I want to remember was how she used to love my presence, and not just tolerate it.
Maybe one day someone would be enough to have their love celebrated by her.

How did it feel to be in the same room as Elizabeth Olsen ♡
actually very bizarre!!!! she also sat in the crowd and watched the film, which sucks because i could've had seats closer up too but i don't like to look up during movies i like to look straight ahead lmaoooo
tbh it was the most bizarre because i looked at her like i could look at anyone else, and she was as present as anyone else in the room
it really made me think of the world in totality, and i also thought it was so weird i know so many details about her and yet if she looked into the crowd and she wouldn't be able to even spot me if asked to.. it is crazy im sure she saw me just running her eyes around
for some reason that made me think that it is actually possible to come into contact with someone i really like, and i could meet someone as interesting as her and as inspirational as her just like i could approach anyone else in the room. like the possibility of adoring and looking up to someone so much isn't restricted to some other world, to have her in that room with everyone else made me see all things in totality and as mundane (which is not negative)
anyways yes i had a lot of strange revelations like that lmao

Golden Girl|elizabeth Olsen x reader
Tumblr media
As you step out of the car and onto the red carpet, you take a deep breath and try to calm your nerves. This was your first Golden Globes and you were excited and anxious at the same time. You were there with your male co-worker, who your manager had set you up with as a PR stunt. You didn't mind, as he was a good friend and you both agreed to just have fun with it.
But as you walk down the carpet, posing for pictures and answering questions, you can't help but feel a little uneasy. You know that Elizabeth, your secret girlfriend, was also attending the Globes, and the thought of her watching you with another man made your heart ache.
Eventually, you make your way into the venue and are shown to your assigned table. You are relieved to see that Elizabeth is seated at the same table, and you quickly take your seat next to her. She gives you a warm smile and reaches for your hand under the table, squeezing it lightly.
You feel a sense of comfort and relief wash over you as you hold hands with your girlfriend. You wish you could show the world that you are hers, but for now, this small gesture will have to do.
The night progresses and you both enjoy the awards ceremony, cheering on your friends and colleagues. When Finally, it's time for Elizabeth's category to be announced. You hold your breath as her name is called, and feel a swell of pride and adoration as she makes her way to the stage to accept her award.
In her acceptance speech, she thanks her family, friends, and colleagues, but then she says something that brings tears to your eyes.
'And lastly, I want to thank my amazing girlfriend, who has been my rock and my source of inspiration. I love you more than words can express.'
The audience erupts into applause and you feel overwhelmed with emotion. You can see the tears in Elizabeth's eyes as she looks back at you and blows you a kiss.
As she makes her way back to the table, she takes your hand and pulls you into a loving hug, whispering in your ear, 'I'm so proud of you, my love.'
You both spend the rest of the evening wrapped up in each other, not caring about the cameras or the attention. You were finally able to show the world that you were not just a PR stunt, but two people deeply in love. And that was all that mattered.
The night ends with Elizabeth's arm around your waist as you walk out of the venue, feeling grateful and blessed to have such a strong and loving partner by your side.
A/n-lizzie deserved that award but Ali wong is equally as talented and should not have any negativity directed her way.

broken reflection
Wanda Maximoff x Fem Reader
Word count: 5,342
A/N: This story is inspired by Elizabeth Olsen's character in Love And Death. However, I must clarify that while I appreciate her performance in the show, I don’t agree with nor glorify the actions of the real-life person she portrays, Candy Montgomery. Therefore, I made the decision to switch the character to Wanda Maximoff and create a multiverse” storyline. I was inspired by someone else who did a similar switch, and I felt that it was the right decision for my own. With nothing else to add, I hope you enjoy!
Marriage was supposed to be your happy ending, but as your marriage deteriorated, an encounter with another woman opened your eyes to a new world of possibilities and desires you never knew existed.
Tumblr media
Time seemed to pass at a frantic pace whenever you found yourself immersed in your most tormenting thoughts. The ceiling, which you watched as you lay in your bed, became your silent witness, as the moonlight streaming in through the window illuminated the cracks in the ceiling, which you could have sworn, you knew by heart by that point.
You caught yourself finding comfort in those seemingly insignificant details, but at that moment, they seemed to be the only tangible things in your life.
Because, no one had prepared you for this.
For as long as you could remember, the idea of marriage had been presented to you as something wonderful, as a kind of destiny that you had to reach in order to be happy and fulfilled. And very late you realized that, in your quest to find that sense of belonging and fulfillment you so longed for, you had fallen into the error of looking for in marriage what you should have found within yourself.
"I worked my ass off to give you everything you needed, I spoiled you rotten, and the one thing you were supposed to give me in return, you couldn't give it to me!" He exclaimed when he came home from work at nine o'clock at night, and you found yourself in the painful position of telling him again that no, you were not in the mood to try.
He had never told you anything like that, at least not explicitly. However, he always let you know by giving you those little looks whenever he saw those happy families with their children in the park, or disguised as a brief "we're working on it" whenever the subject came up in those absurd after-dinner conversations he made you attend. He never felt the need to say those hurtful words to you, until that time.
You could hear your mother's voice echoing in your head, "That's what you get for marrying so young, to someone so old." And yes, you were the youngest of all the wives who gathered after church on Sundays. From the way they talked to you, it was obvious that they thought you were so ignorant of everything just because you were young.
Before, every day of your marriage felt like a fairy tale, everything seemed solved, and you thought you had fulfilled your purpose. It wasn't until, for a change, some idiot friend of James' decided to pick on him by telling him that he was "falling behind."
What hurt the most was that he was looking for in children what you were looking for in marriage, both wrong because, you insisted, it was within you. That was why you refused to even try, in the first place. Being a father wasn't supposed to be just a compensation for his lack of fulfillment.
After failing miserably to go to sleep at a decent hour, you woke up at noon and realized that he was gone. It wasn't the first time he had breakfast out because you simply refused to wake up to prepare him something. The only reason it didn't bother him was because afterward, he took advantage to see other women. Oh, you knew, he didn't even deign to hide it.
Even if you weren't doing the same thing, you supposed you could care less anyway. Any semblance of love had vanished so long ago, but you couldn't afford to be as bold as he was, because you repeated, you were doing the same thing, seeing other women...
... or rather, another woman.
It all happened when one Sunday night, which you thought would end up as hell, was what started a part of your life that really meant something. Very chaotic and perhaps sick to consider it as such, but all you aspired to was those weekday evenings. Before, you had nothing to aspire to, no one you really wanted to give yourself to in that sense.
For a change, you were fighting with your husband. You were eagerly talking to the women about everything and nothing at the same time when he called you over to talk, and his expression was so serene that it was inevitable to think it was not good.
"You'll be happy now! I'm the laughing stock of all my friends because they know we are not even trying to have a child," he blurted out, his alcohol breath invading your nose, causing you a feeling of revulsion immediately.
"How fragile you are to accept a commitment as big as a child is, just because you can't stand the awful comments," you replied, almost in a mocking tone. He hated that, he hated that you seconded all the remarks in some way. His friends teased him because you refused to sleep with him, and you teased him because he cared. It was his nightmare and your delight.
"Not everything is about having kids! They know you're disgusted by me!" He clarified, and just imagining the kind of conversations they were having made you loathe him even more.
"We women are not trophies for you to show off. We are human beings," you replied, pushing him slightly, which was enough for him to fall like a sack of potatoes. "How empty-minded are you guys that the only remarkable thing you have to say is whether or not you slept with a woman, huh?"
He stood up awkwardly and laughed.
"Spare me your feminist talk, I'm outta here," he growled and proceeded to walk off to who knows where.
You let out a long sigh after watching his figure shrink in size until he became invisible to your eyes. Every time he was gone, you felt free. It was as if all your problems disappeared in the form of a loathsome person like he was.
You felt even too guilty because that day you wished he would dawn lost somewhere and never find his way back or have a horrible accident.
"What you said is too true," you heard a voice behind you, making you startle.
You looked around until you came upon Wanda in the driver's seat of her car, with the window open. You were so immersed in your discussion that you didn't even notice that she had been listening to everything.
"I'm sorry you had to witness this," you muttered, lowering your head.
"You know, I always thought of you as a naive girl who doesn't have a fucking clue, but I realize you have guts. Even more than many in there," she ignored your apology, and at her statement, you didn't know whether to be flattered or offended.
"I guess it only takes being ten years younger than you for you to condemn me like that," you shrugged, opting to feel satisfied. This was a great opportunity to prove yourself wrong.
"What are you talking about? That's a lifetime!" She exclaimed as she laughed. You really appreciated that she decided to lighten up what could have been another argument with a little joke, where she made fun of her own mistake. That definitely marked a before and after between you two.
"You're right, you were all here by the time Queen Elizabeth was born," you joked back, causing her to let out a loud laugh that even echoed throughout the neighborhood. It was her reaction that made you laugh even harder.
That day, she asked you to go with her in the car and get lost around the neighborhood. It was almost like a therapeutic session; she talked about her husband, and you talked about yours. You made them the biggest targets of ridicule and insults for maybe three hours, and only stopped when you went to a gas station store to buy snacks and subsequently find a spot in a parking lot on top of a building.
"Don't you sometimes wish you had met other people?" you concluded, as she finished telling you how her husband responded to a piece she wrote. With such indifference that it made you feel extremely indignant.
"All the time," she confirmed, nodding. "Sometimes I imagine what my life would have been like if I had married someone who cared about my mind and not my uterus, and who treats me like a diamond in the rough that values at all times, and not like a trophy that just shows off but leaves to rest in some closet as soon as everyone is gone."
"That's me!" you laughed, placing your hand above hers to squeeze it, as a sign of comfort.
"But I do have a better proposition for you, why don't you start by doing it yourself? Prove to yourself that you're more than what your stupid husband thinks you are, and maybe that will even give you the courage to walk away from him if that's what you want."
You felt a mixture of fear and excitement at the idea. Could you really do it? Would you be able to find the strength to stand on your own two feet and figure out what are your own dreams, even if it meant abandoning the security of your marriage?
You looked at her, who was smiling encouragingly at you, and you felt a surge of gratitude for the moment you shared. Maybe it was time to take a chance and see what else life had to offer.
"...Wow! Such wonderful words were not rehearsed before? You're a natural," you praised her. She blushed slightly at that. "Keep in mind that I'll think about it carefully."
"Think about it! Besides, my husband is an idiot and your husband is an idiot, what would you say if... we found that courage between us? That way maybe we won't settle for less," her voice became raspy in a matter of seconds, as she leaned towards you.
"Oh, sure! Keep in mind that I'm willing to support you...-"
"Look, regardless of that silly prejudice I had about you, when we were playing volleyball, and the sweat was running down your tight blouse... oh, you have no idea what it provoked inside me," she confessed. "Today when I saw you put that fucker in his place, I realized, I'm incredibly attracted to you."
You watched her for a moment, and noticed how her green eyes turned dark. Who were you kidding? If you didn't want James to lay a finger on you it was because it was women like Wanda that you coveted with your being to do whatever they wanted with you.
"I'm not going to lie to you, I was only going to volleyball to see you," you whispered, as if you weren't the only souls in that compound.
You weren't lying. You weren't a big fan of going to physically exhaust yourself after the mental exhaustion that being under the same roof as that disgusting man brought you. However, the mere thought of Wanda being there made you become the most passionate athlete.
"Would you be interested in having an affair?" She inquired without preamble.
Every day used to feel like a cycle of dreary routines from which you could find no escape, leaving you with a sense of longing for something different to shake up your existence. You never imagined, however, that said "something" would be an affair with Wanda Maximoff.
Instead, you adopted an exciting routine that was previously calculated, in order to be able to get away with it, and so far, not a soul suspected you.
However, you were also highly involved in the delight of each other's company, so there was no danger in going to the movies, shopping, visiting each other at home to simply read together, or sharing a lunch.
You hoped that, like you, Wanda would also feel that your presence had irrevocably improved her life, for it was evident that you found in her what you knew you would never find in anyone else.
And so the sleepless nights had become somewhat more frequent than usual. They were minutes turning into hours, until the light of a new dawn appeared through the windows of the room.
Your thoughts were mainly shaped by the failure of your marriage, which there was no longer any point in fighting to save, and how it all led to an affair whose most essential rule you had broken: don't fall in love.
Fortunately, you would fall asleep after your idiot husband left the bed and his scent gradually faded away. It was during those nights that you longed to find yourself on Wanda's chest instead, with her intoxicating scent invading your nostrils. For you, it was one of the most effective ways for you to sleep.
"Who is this?" You groaned, after the ringing of the phone had woken you from your slumber. It was when you saw the clock hanging on the wall that you realized it was four-thirty in the afternoon.
"Your mistress," Wanda laughed on the other end of the phone, replacing annoyance with a feeling of happiness that only she knew how to bring.
The more you fell in love with her, the more you knew this was doomed to fail. You could feel the impending apocalypse, the moment when she would break your heart because you were asking for too much. She was the only solace in a world that had lost all meaning, and you refused to lose her.
"Oh," You replied with a chuckle. "Are there plans for today?"
"I'm too excited to see the new Star Wars movie, and I was wondering if you'd like to go watch it with me," she proposed. "I know we went to the movies recently, but I really hope you don't mind..."
"Yes! You'd love to go with you," You exclaimed, with a huge smile plastered on your face. "If you want to go to the movies a thousand times, a thousand times I'll go with you."
"Yay, perfect! I'll pick you up in an hour and a half," she anticipated you. "See you then."
As soon as you hung up the phone, you set about taking a shower, putting on an outfit and applying makeup that would leave you sufficiently satisfied with your appearance. In a matter of effectively an hour, you were fully ready.
You were putting away the mess you had left behind when you heard your doorbell ring, and with great joy, you ran to the front door.
There she was, with a smile even bigger than yours, and she didn't hesitate for a second to throw herself at you and hug you warmly.
"You look beautiful," You complimented her, appreciating her green orbs and full lips that once kissed every inch of your being.
With a slight blush on her cheeks, she looked around, then grabbed the back of your neck and kissed your lips.
As if it was the first time ever, the softness of her lips against yours was an indescribable sensation that never failed to make you melt by her touch and surrender to her.
"And you look divine," she whispered, a few millimeters away, causing you to feel her hot breath as if it were your own.
When you finally broke apart, you were both breathless and flushed. You looked into her eyes and she returned your gaze with a look that was a mixture of passion and maybe, just maybe, a reciprocated feeling of love.

"Have you eaten yet, darling?" she asked, once you stopped in front of the cinema, whose line was somewhat extensive.
One thing you greatly appreciated was that concern which was represented through small actions, as in this case, they were questions of whether you had eaten, and at other times they regarded your sleeping habits or whether you had eaten something really healthy and not just fast food from some restaurant nearby. These were acts that may have been automatic and even inert to her, but to you they meant the world.
"I know that tone you take when you've just woken up," she began, referring to the way you answered the phone. "And since I only gave you an hour's notice, I guess you didn't get to eat."
You laughed at her conclusion, which completely evidenced how well she knew you and how interested she seemed in you, "You got me, but it's okay, popcorn will do."
"Not a chance," she countered, predictably. "Let's get you something to eat, and we'll smuggle it into the cinema to make it more fun," she proposed.
You nodded, knowing that she always found ways to make any situation more exciting.
Together you headed towards a small food stall near the cinema, and as you waited for your order, you couldn't help but feel grateful to have someone so thoughtful and considerate by your side.
Once your plates of food were delivered, you took care to hide them appropriately in your respective bags, and, after purchasing your tickets and popcorn, you proceeded to walk towards the cinema, completely satisfied with your successful smuggling.
Finally, you found your seats in the darkness of the theatre, surrounded by the fragrance of corn and butter. You looked to your side and saw Wanda already looking in your direction. It was there that you confirmed once again that the movie didn't matter as much as the fact that you were there together, sharing a fun moment where you could escape for a brief moment.
The film turned out to be shocking in every way.
From the very beginning, it kept you on the edge of your nerves with its intense and exciting plot. The pace of the film gradually picked up and the tension built up. The scenes were shocking and you were holding each other's hands tightly.
It was then that the unexpected plot twist occurred that left you gasping.
The iconic "I am your father" stunned everyone, especially the woman next to you, who was perhaps the biggest fan of the franchise in this room.
"No way," she whispered, and you noticed her eyes watering. "There is no way!"
You couldn't lie, you were just as surprised. Even though it all started as a way to keep Wanda company, you couldn't help but feel moved. You could say you were even beginning to understand what all the fuss was about.
Once the film was over, she stared into the void for a long time, still processing what had happened.
"Do you want me to drive?" You proposed, somewhat amused at her state, but also willing to help and understand her.
"No no, I'm fine, come on! I'm not a teenager!" She shook her head, heading for the passenger door and opening it for you - a gesture you adored.
"Thank you, ma'am," You thanked her, getting into the car. Once she made her way to the driver's seat, you decided to comfort her a little. "Sometimes you're a teenager... sometimes we are. I think growing up is overrated."
She took your hand in hers, and kissed it affectionately, "I wish it was like that all the time and not sometimes; I wish all the time I could have exciting experiences that constantly make me feel on top of the world. I wish I could give that to you all the time. If only we could get married... I swear I would make you the happiest, as happy as I know you would make me."
"Unfortunately you have Vision and I have James... society is slowly programming us to be another one of the bunch, another model of the housewives we're expected to be," You retorted, feeling infected by her melancholy. "That's why we have this, to escape from time to time."
"But I don't want it from time to time! You know something? I've had it with Vision," she stated, starting her car. "I'm sick of him not touching me, not listening to me, and just watching his stupid show."
Your eyes widened.
You never imagined hearing her say that. Sure, you complained about your husbands and the life they gave you, it just didn't seem feasible for neither of you to leave them.
But in the end, why couldn't you have what Steve and Peggy had, for example? And that's when you knew you could have it, you were just with the wrong people. The biggest question was, if Wanda got this person, was she going to leave you? Was it going to be really you?
And that was your biggest epiphany.
You didn't care if you could never have her the way you wanted her, just having her in your life in any way was more than enough. You wanted her happiness even if it was at the cost of your own, and that's when you realized that what you felt was love at its best.
"What are you going to do?" You questioned, once you came back to your senses. It wasn't until you got to your house that it happened.
"I'm going to take all the money he keeps hidden in that shoe box, get the hell out of this town and start over," she replied. "I've been thinking about it for about two weeks now, but I think it's time."
You felt a lump in your throat as you listened to Wanda's words. You couldn't believe that she was planning to go away and leave everything behind, and that on top of it all, she had her mind completely made up.
You had been through so much together, you had laughed, cried and shared unforgettable moments. But now, it seemed that all that would come to an end. You would return to that monotony where you desperately searched for something that could make the day different from others. You missed your home, your family, your friends... and it wasn't your husband, it was Wanda who made you feel that leaving all that behind was for the best.
And again, if she promised to do her best to find the happiness you knew she longed for as well, then this too would be worth it.
Tears began to well up in your eyes as you tried to keep your composure. You struggled for words, for inevitably, sadness gripped your heart. Goodbyes were never easy.
"What are you doing? Why are you crying?" Wanda asked, taking your face in her hands.
"It's just... I don't want to lose you, I love you and going back to the life before I met you is scary, but if that's what you want, then..."
"Don't be silly, you're coming with me," she interrupted, wiping your cheeks with her thumbs. "Wait, you said you loved me?"
You were surprised to hear Wanda's question, immediately mentally beating yourself up for not having calculated your words, but, to your surprise, you also felt a surge of joy at finally being able to express your feelings.
"Yes, I said I love you, silly!" You exclaimed, as if it hadn't been obvious enough. "Look at this godforsaken mess that you've made of me. You're like a bright light in my life, you're the only one who makes me laugh until my cheeks go numb, you make me feel alive, you taught me colors after I got used to so much black and white, you taught me a language I can't speak to someone else. You're everything I ever dreamed I could find in someone, how could I not love you?"
"We don't need to get married, we don't need a damn piece of paper to be happy. Happiness is the most important thing and we already have it," she said, moving closer to press her lips against yours for a moment. "I love you madly. Thank you for opening my eyes. You were my motivation for coming up with this plan in the first place, now that I know what it's like to really live, I refuse to go back to what came before."
"How are we going to do that?" You inquired, somehow reminding her that you too had an issue to disengage from.
"Meet me at midnight."
Once you returned home, you found the person you were unexpectedly certain you would leave behind in a matter of hours.
He had his feet up on the coffee table, his hair tousled and his tie undone, his eyes too focused on the television, which fortunately were struggling to stay open.
"You should go to sleep, or you'll have a very hard time getting up tomorrow," You suggested, knowing full well that you were only going to earn a complaint.
"It's my problem if I want to stay up all night," he grunted, straightening his posture to wake up a little. Even he couldn't deny that it was in vain.
With a scoff, you dropped your bag on the kitchen counter and headed for the bedroom.
You had to pack as soon as possible so that when James decided to go to bed, you wouldn't be caught literally displacing your entire life in a single suitcase.
You started with your clothes, which you folded into rolls so they would fit more effectively, and proceeded to take your beauty products, hygiene products, belongings that held sentimental significance, and sadly, space only allowed you to pack two pairs of your favorite shoes. It was a huge suitcase, the same one you used when you moved here, and you were even surprised at how much you could fit in it. You guess it was again going to accompany you in a new scenario, this time a successful one.
You heard James' clumsy footsteps approaching the room. By that time, you had the suitcase packed and hidden under the bed, waiting for midnight. It was only half an hour away.
He collapsed into bed, not bothering to change or pull the covers over himself. He just tossed and turned, with nothing else on his mind but sleep as soon as possible.
When the time came, you let out a deep sigh and carefully got out of bed, feeling your every movement like an explosion in the darkness of the room.
Once you felt more confident, you slowly bent down towards the suitcase you had hidden under the bed. Every inch you moved was a huge effort, but you knew you couldn't afford to be discovered.
Finally, you reached for the suitcase and carefully pulled it out. Each movement was as if you were touching a taut string, expecting that at any moment it might snap and make everything fall apart. Likewise, each step you took seemed to be heavier than the last, but without looking back for a moment, you kept moving forward, knowing that you were on the last step of your escape.
You heard footsteps approaching from behind and your heart began to pound.
No, no, no. You refused to turn around and look. You were too close!
You tried not to think about it, to convince yourself that everything was fine, but it was impossible.
Suddenly, a hand landed on your shoulder and you were startled. You turned around to face James, who was standing there, his eyes full of sadness and worry.
"Let me go, James. There's nothing you can do to stop me," you said quietly, trying to hide your fear.
"I know," he said in a calm voice. "I'm not going to stop you. There's no point in keeping this marriage if you're not happy. If I'm not happy. Go with her."
You were shocked to hear those words coming out of James' mouth. For so long, you had been holding back your true feelings for fear of hurting him, and that it would end badly. He already knew that, and he accepted it.
Your expression made him chuckle, "I saw you kissing before you came in," as if reading your thoughts, he confessed what you were wondering. "I just want you to know that I've been watching you for a while now. I noticed how happy you were coming back after spending time with her. Only someone very cruel would stand in the way of that... I'm not cruel, even though I haven't done a very good job of showing it."
You couldn't help but feel some gratitude towards James for being so understanding. It was a strange feeling, considering you were running away from him, but in that moment, you felt that you had finally found someone who understood what was going through your mind.
"You're not the only one who's been seeing other people. I've been seeing... men, too." He confessed, leaving you paralyzed, not knowing what to say. You never would have imagined James would say something like that to you. You felt confused, shocked, and at the same time, a little relieved. At least you weren't the only one who had been hiding something. "You should learn from me, I was careful about it," James joked, trying to lighten the tension in the air.
Finally, you found the right words, "Thank you, James. For understanding me, for being honest. I don't know what's going to happen to me and Wanda from now on, but I'm sure I'll find my way to happiness. And please do whatever it takes to find yours too, no matter with whom it is."
He simply nodded, an understanding expression on his face. "I promise I will, and I hope this isn't goodbye."
James and you hugged each other tightly, sharing an emotional moment that would seal the end of your marriage. It was amazing how this moment of parting was the one where you felt the most respect and compassion for him, and you could tell the feeling was mutual. It would have been easier if instead of condemning each other, you had been willing to understand each other.
Afterwards, he offered to walk you to the car towards Wanda, and you accepted. You walked together in silence, as if you both knew it was better to leave words behind.
The older woman was waiting inside the car, and both James and you laughed as her jaw practically dropped to the floor when she saw you. The confusion was palpable on every faction of her face.
James walked over to her and took her hand, looking at her lovingly, "Take care of each other as only you know how, love each other as you deserve to be loved, because you two are amazing people and deserve all the best in life." He told her sincerely, conveying his flooding desire to redeem himself.
Wanda was overwhelmed by your now ex-husband's words, and nodded tearfully. "Thank you for trusting me with something as precious as the happiness of this one right here."
James gave you one last hug before walking away, and Wanda's gaze was still fixed on him with equal parts sadness and gratitude.
You placed your suitcase in the trunk, and subsequently made your way to the passenger seat.
Wanda asked, "Do I want to know what happened?"
"Long story," you sighed, letting out the air you'd been holding in for far too long.
"Well, we have a long trip waiting for us. There's time," she started the car's engine.
With great excitement, your story with Wanda began this way, the person with whom you were destined to witness fulfillment at its greatest expression.
Together you started a business and lived on it, your daily routines never lacked for adventure and laughter. Every day your love grew more and more, and you never looked back, always moving forward together.
You fondly remember how each sunrise was like a new roller coaster of emotions, always full of new challenges. And in the most difficult moments, when darkness threatened to invade you, you clung to your union, knowing that together you could overcome any obstacle.
And so, with Wanda by your side, living each day with passion and enthusiasm, you knew you were exactly where you were meant to be, living your life to the fullest alongside the person you love most in this world.
