@pennyinyourthoughts gets an au starter for Penny & Eliot
A new year, a new slew of lucky students to have been brought into Brakebills. Eliot's been assigned to show a few of them around, which isn't really surprising - it's not his first rodeo.
He does, however, have some hopes that at least one of them will be fun.
Speaking of fun.
Eliot hears the footsteps approach and moves to sit up on the ledge he'd been laying across. His eyes land on the new student and he hops down, landing effortlessly on his feet as he takes a drag out of the cigarette in his mouth.
Head tilts slightly as he approaches, eyes raking over the man in one slow look over, drinking him in.
Oh, this one's beautiful. Beauty is fine and all, but Eliot wonders if he's as fun as he is beautiful. There are plenty of things he can think to do with this one. Drink, smoke, do a few drugs, among other very specific things that dance around in his mind.
But, ah, he has a job to do and he can't stare into those beautiful eyes for too long.
"Penny Adiyodi? Follow me." He can only hope this one passes his exam, both parts of it. It'd be a shame to lose such a pretty man because he couldn't pass a few simple tests.
Before they go, though, he offers the cigarette to Penny to take - almost as if to test if his thoughts of Penny being someone who looks like he's into the same things that Eliot is into. He stands by the thought he looks like someone who would be fun to drink with.

Fuck, he probably shouldn't have downed that drink so quick. He's not drunk but he's got a buzz going, that's for damn sure. Good, he much rather be buzzed or drunk if they're going to talk about this shit.
This is the point he'd make a joke about his dick when Mischa says what he says. Or, it would be, if he hadn't just soured his mood severely. Eliot doesn't want to talk about it, doesn't want to even think about it.
Unfortunately for Eliot, alcohol makes for loose lips. "The last time I used my so-called potential, I murdered someone." Margo has told him it's not murder, that it was an accident, but he had still wished that kid dead. It was murder, plain and simple.
Now that he thinks about it, booze making one talk more is probably why the bastard is trying to get him drunk in the first place.
"Bullshit."
Mischa watches as Eliot downs that second drink quickly after his denial. He knows better than that. He's watched students come and go from Brakebills South for years now, living in this isolation and exile for his own mistakes.
Mistakes he continues to make, admittedly, but the powers that be pay far less attention to it with him down here. Besides, where would they send him anyways? The moon?
"You have more magic in the tip of your dick than half of the other worthless fledglings here. Except perhaps for Margo, that girl has magic balls." Indeed, he still chuckles at her bold reaction to being stuck in the Antarctic for the next semester.
"Yet you pretend as if you are nothing. It is a waste of talent, and an insult to the potential you have in you to be a great Magician. Like yours truly."

Leverage timetravel, pre pilot/child ot3 meet their redemption era selves
(I took some liberties re: /meeting/) In hindsight, visiting the US Patent office was probably not their smartest move. Never return to the scene of the crime, and all, at least not if the job was finished.
But they'd put a pin in going back for the time machine, and not even a really bad idea could deter Hardison from an actual time machine. Well. Portal, like Eliot had said.
It hadn't come with an instruction manual, but the three of them, Hardison, Parker, Eliot were professionals at figuring things out on the fly . Even lost in the past. Even scattered.
Hardison knew he just had to wait, though. They'd find each other. They'd lived through the past once, they could deal with it again, especially knowing everything they did. And it wasn't like they had to live through the whole span of years, either. They just had to find each other, put the pieces back together, scattered with them, and go home. Easier said than done--he was starting to think they might have ended up in different times--but still, the Estimated range was fifteen to twenty years, so that was only five max before they met up, right?
Hardison had gotten right to work. Ads in every major newspaper in the heartland cost plenty, but he had years of criminal practice on top of knowing what tech to invest in, so he really wasn't that worried. He guessed Eliot would be betting on sports games, like in Back to the Future. Parker... well, it was hard to guess where she was. Once he and Eliot met up, they'd have to wait for her to get to them. He did have a few things to do, first.
He knocked on Nana's door, feeling like maybe he ought to be wearing a bow tie.
"What is it? You from the county?" she asked, when she opened the door. He could see behind her a few curious faces, including his own. Damn, he'd been so tiny.
"Yes, Ma'am," he said brightly. He could remember this day, vaguely. The box he held was more familiar than his adult face. "I'm here to install your new computer."
"I didn't order any computer," Nana said. "Run your scam someplace else."
"It's not a scam!" he heard his own voice say. "I entered a contest at school."
He had. And he'd lost. Stupid Jake Puckett had won, a kid who could have easily afforded a computer. Alec hadn't known that though, until Hardison'd checked idly. And he wasn't about to just let all of history change. Well, all his own history.
"You got some proof of that?" Nana asked, and Alec went scampering off to his room to find his copy of the essay.
Satisfied with the expertly forged documents (wow! it was much easier to forge past documents when you were in the time they were from!) Nana let him in and pointed to a corner desk near an outlet.
"You ever use your own one of these?" Hardison asked Alec, who shook his head. " just the one at school. I really won?"
"Sure did. Now, let me show you what this thing can do."
~
Eliot stood at the edge of the field, a newspaper crumpled in his hand. Hardison was in Boston, if the ad was right, and of course the ad was. No one else put that much effort into a coded message.
He watched the football fly. In two weeks, the kid throwing it would be on a bus to boot camp. He closed his eyes. There were options. Kid wouldn't believe him, of course. There were no secrets yet, to spill as proof. And he was too stubborn to buy the warning. A good solid tackle, though. Break his arm bad enough...
He'd thought about it. And then about the what ifs. The blood would still be spilled, he knew that. Someone else would end up on Moreau's chain. Someone else would end up with a half dug grave for Flores, and maybe keep digging it. Everything he'd done for money, the money'd go to someone else. Job might not get done, or it might.
He'd be there for his mother's funeral. He'd miss Katherine Clive's. Rebecca Ibanez. the way the drinking might have gone... he'd miss Nate Ford's. He'd go to school, like his dad wanted, never play college ball. Study something-- art history, maybe -- but no, that was him now. Not him then. Him then would be angry and broken. Him then wouldn't have... his people.
He crumped the paper further. "Dammit, Hardison," he said quietly, and walked away.
~
Parker had a code. Some things, you just didn't do. Some were big and flashy and obvious. Some were smaller, quieter.
Hardison would say she shouldn't do this, she knew, and she usually listened to Hardison. He knew what he was talking about, most of the time. You can't change the past. That'd been part of the lecture before they'd gone to steal the time machine. You can do things, sure, but you always did them.
Well, Parker hadn't done this. No one had, back the first time she'd lived through this day. But she was doing it anyways, breaking his rule and her own. You don't steal from kids who don't have anything.
Carefully, she picked the lock on the child's bicycle chain.

i personally think marcille is bisexual but in the "i am attracted the Occasional anime twink and also every woman who has ever walked the earth" way. like a solid 5 on the kinsey scale, y'know?
#eliot posts#(yes the kinsey scale is outdated and a vast oversimplification plus doesn't map perfectly onto modern label uses but. yk.)#dunme#dungeon meshi#marcille donato#i am only extrapolating a little bit from canon here#gestures at the succubus chapter#and then gestures at how the Vibes feel a little bit gay to me whenever she's interacting directly w almost any other adult woman#it's odd to me that i very rarely see ppl headcanon her as bi unless they are actively shipping her w a man (usually chilchuck or laios)#i personally ship her exclusively w falin (to me chilchuck is her work dad and laios is her boybestie and future in-law)#but she is simply bi and dating a woman to me#(now falin on the other hand i personally generally see as a lesbian)#(that ''she almost accepted toshiro's proposal bc she was worried no one else would want her. but hesitated because she felt guilty abt-#-the idea of marrying him even though she did not return his feelings'' read as compulsory heterosexuality to me personally)

no but the hivemind-like exchange between parker and eliot in the rundown job when they are pinned in the subway car and the bioweapon bomb is about to go off
in the beginning of s4 in the long way down job they went to great lengths to firmly establish that to some extent, parker and eliot think the same way. they are able to make those calculations, take those risks, do what needs to be done to protect the ones they love above all else
it’s what makes them them
and in that moment, the three of them are pinned down under the rage of a psychotic gunman and the bomb is seconds away from going off, which would mean thousands and thousands of people would most likely die and only they are the ones that can stop it.
and more importantly, hardison is there, right beside them, and he would die too if the bomb went off and that was something they couldn’t accept. not now, not ever. there is no plan m.
so eliot gives parker a look and a nod, and she kisses hardison for the luck she’s never needed before and they jump into action. eliot steps into the line of fire to cover parker (always, forever. ‘til his dying day) and she runs off to neutralize the bomb at the very last second.
hardison is horrified and terrified for them but it’s what they do, who they are, it’s what makes them them and parker and eliot have that same deep understanding to know that
#this is so important to me#I was watching a fanvid and I saw the interaction again and I almost fainted lmao#like ??? eliot gave her a look that was so loaded#it said I know you’re going to do this and I’m going to do it too because we have to. we have to do the right thing#more importantly? we have to keep hardison safe#we do what they can’t and right now it’s this#I trust you. I trust you to cover me. I trust you to neutralize the bomb. /I trust you/#and eliot looks at her and it says kiss this man because I can’t. and she does#no words needed#and that’s beautiful#parker#parker meta#eliot spencer#eliot spencer meta#alec hardison#meta#ot3 meta#parker x eliot#parker x hardison x eliot#leverage ot3#the rundown job#leverage#leverage season 5#character dynamics#watch leverage#mine#my meta#meta in the tags#my tags

Them betting and then arguing whether the bet is off or not and Eliot goes “Page 189, rule number 7 in the bro handbook”
“Alright then! I’ll make you some prime rib when this is over.” “Bone in, well done?” “Well done, bone in.” “Alright” and then the fucking little smile Eliot gives afterwards I love them and their bromance your honor
#I do see a lot of their interactions as like brotherly/best friend kinda vibes#but also I have become an ot3 shipper#they’re all so adorable and awesome together#the lonely hearts job#alec hardison#eliot spencer#leverage#anarchy watches leverage

@pennyinyourthoughts sent “ if you don’t turn that alarm off i’m gonna throw it out the window. ” to Eliot
The alarm pulls him so cruelly from such a deep peaceful sleep, and Penny too, by the sounds of it. At this point, he's not so sure he would care if Penny threw it out the window.
Penny.
Wait a minute.
Eliot can now clearly feel the marks from last night, the hickeys and the bite marks that throb so nicely along his flesh. It wasn't as if Eliot didn't know what he was doing, he was very much aware and consenting, he just hadn't thought of what would come next.
Well, this feels a bit awkward.
He reaches out to shut the alarm off, blindly feeling around before he gives up and sits up to turn it off. The alarm finally goes off and he turns his head to look at Penny who seems so content laying next to him.
He's not quite sure what to say, not sure where they stand now. Is this a one-time thing or is there more to it? He's no stranger to one-night stands but they're usually not with advisors and friends.
Shit.

I'm thinking about writing a leverage Discworld crossover because I love both of them
But I'm worried if I make Hardison a goblin if it is like racist? To be clear, none of the team would be human.
Goblins in Discworld (specifically mentioned in Raising Steam and maybe Snuff) are the best coders ever for the clacks, and they are amazing with picking up and improving technology, quite literally better at it than humans and other species (Raising Steam)
But... Goblins were until very recently a race that was looked down upon, and is still likened to unclean things even though the people of Ankh-Morpork are quickly warming up to the species
I am just worried if I make the black man a goblin it could be seen as problematic. Any thoughts would be appreciated
#nahl no#leverage#discworld#i want to make Eliot a werewolf. potentially raised by the nac mac feegols#parker im torn between goblin. imp. banshee. or nac mac feegol#nate i really want to be a diamond adjacent troll. an “honest” man#sophie being a black ribbon carrying vampire could be so fun especially w the duchess of hanover thing#mainly doing this to see how they'd react to Moist. Vimes. and Vetenari because that would be fun interactions

Have I mentioned today…
… how much I love Nate and Eliot?
#Leverage#rewatching the Tap Out Job before I go to bed#no it's not nearly four leave me alone#anyway having Emotions#one of Leverage's great strengths#among many#is it's tacit acting and background moments#often based on the chemistry of the main team#the way the characters interact even when not speaking or when focus isn't on them#like just this rewatch I noticed Hardison I think double checking Eliot's eyes before the fight#like he's making absolutely sure the water was good#while Nate is telling him not to take it past round two#it's stuff like that that makes this such a strong ensemble show#for ex the whole Nate and Eliot dynamic is very heavily based upon that#also I kill for moments where the team is protective of Eliot#the best cons have a bit of truth to them#pretty sure all they needed to get those reactions from themselves was consider how they'd feel if this were real#yes most of it is a playact but I absolutely believe that stuff like them all worrying about him#and Nate even making a go at the guy#was completely realistic#you don't mess w/ their hitter anymore than any of the others#(Sophie hamming it up is great tho and esp since that's definitely an act knowing how Eliot feels about his past)#Literal Crime Family

Okay, I have no idea how many of you Leverage fans have seen and/or like Hawaii 5-0- but I think it would be funny to see Danny Williams and Steve McGarrett work with Leverage.
Especially with Parker.
Imagine two (semi) by the book cops- working with con-artists. Working with a women people think is legit crazy. And then having her be protected by Eliot who could stare down Steve.
#leverage#parker leverage#eliot spencer#alec hardison#sophie devereaux#nate ford#harry wilson#breanna casey#hawaii five 0#steve mcgarrett#danny williams#kono#chin ho kelly#i think it would be funny to see hawaii five o interact with parker#eliot is in the background being all protective whil hardison is hacking into their data base#sophie is grifting and nate is actually trying to be semi reasonable#to this two (semi) by the book cops#who have means necessary to take them down#eliot and steve get into it because steve threatened parker in some way#i don't know how many fans of each fandom knows about tje shows#but I enjoy both and I think its funny
