Ear Candle Productions captured the Channel 29 Producers' Protest to preserve San Francisco's Public Access channel on August 15, 2005.
In cities like San Francisco, cable companies are required by local law to provide a public access channel for local residents to produce their own TV shows. Comcast was attempting to shut down this channel and replace it with another channel covering local government, which they already had. The Channel 29 Access SF community rallied to draw attention to this and rescued our public access TV station.
At the time, Davis Jones and J Neo Marvin were producing the Noodle Brain Productions TV series, so we brought our own equipment to chronicle this event, which was excerpted on our Civility episode!
