No joke it's one of the prettiest games I've ever played.
I've redone my character's face a little to match more Eyre's design, but keeping the strong profile I like... I chose the Draconian race, which is never even mentioned in-game, so a perfect sandpit of make your own shit up.
I wanna draw them in good elden drip... Not that I own that... I'm severly limited by my carry weight lol

i read a series of really annoying elden ring posts the other day i can't stop thinking about.
bayle's demonic appearance in contrast to placidusax's straightforward draconian visage and his being cast out from farum azula has "paradise lost" insinuations. on top of the "moby dick" stuff lol.
2. bayle is clearly made of meat and bone, unlike the rock and gold dragons of farum azula. did they re-hash yet another dark souls thing and give us a modern and lore-appropriate take on seath the scaleless. bayle touched the crucible and got cooties

Hey so... you got juicy lore regarding the Draconians? Maybe i'm just blind, but they rarely have a huge presence in the game
Arrrrrghhhh goddamit... I am so sorry I forgot about this ask ;-; So, yeah, these guys?
I have had the speculation involving them in this ( x ) post, and the simplest way I could summarise it is a meme @val-of-the-north drew:
njdjfhsdf sorry for the brain damage but it is literally what happens LOL fdshhfds OKAY, SO, LIKE
'Draconian' is a preset for a Tarnished, who are people that were either divested of Grace by Marika personally, or, naturally, descend from those who were divested!
There is a slight complication regarding this, but I've concluded they are not full equivalent of, say, Undead in Dark Souls! Whereas being Undead is a condition virtually any human could've gotten as a result of the Fire dying, regardless of their place or race or status, Tarnished are those who died outside of the Lands Between but were raised back by the Grace!
Miyazaki in Summer of Gaming interview ( x ):
"The ancestors of the characters that are present in the world were banished and exiled from The Lands Between, these Tarnished. Then a long time after that, the Elden Ring was shattered in a historical event. This triggers the return of this lost grace and it calls out to the Tarnished, who were once exiled from The Lands Between, and it guides them back. So this is the starting point, or the impetus for the game itself, the Tarnished being called by the lost grace and returning to The Lands Between."
He made it sound strange in the same interview, saying that "some people lose Grace" as if this is a condition equivalent to Undead stuff, but apparently not! There is also an ingame backup for what the Tarnisheds lore actually is too:
So, everyone who lived outside of the Lands Between to BEGIN with are descendants of Godfrey's warriors (or even himself, like with Nepheli)! They departed and settled everywhere, having many descendants and even creating countries like Land of Reeds, for example! This would mean that Godfrey's warriors were QUITE a variety of species and races x)
I can only assume that Tarnished are condemned so much in the Lands Between despite existing by Marika's wish because in the eyes of the people she was supposed to personally decide when to resurrect them and call them back here! Yet, Two Fingers were the one to do that instead, and Lands Between denizens largerly were unaccepting of it!
^ This bit of lore made me think that Ancient Dragons themselves could not become Tarnished by definition, since they are not borne of the Erdtree and their gold is part of their bodies! It is not a blessing they can get or lose, the Grace for them is a physical thing! They can't be divested of Grace that lives in the eyes of those born in the Lands Between because their gold is not it!
Even when an Ancient Dragon becomes "human", they do not literally get a human body; they are still very much rocks and horns, as confirmed by Florissax:
The gold of Ancient Dragons is in their insides, shown through cracks in the rocky skin of petrified Ancient Dragons and in insides of their wings that Florissax simply doesn't have anymore! But if all that happened was assuming humanoid shape, why would the gold that is natural for their rocky forms be gone? It is impossible to divest them of Grace, because for that one would have to make their very body evaporate, as opposed to how Grace is a non-physical blessing living in average people!
This is to say that even though Ancient Dragons could assume "human" form, and even stay such permanently like Florissax, it is very unlikely that they'd be part of Godfrey's warriors divested of Grace as well and Draconians would thus descend from them! You know what IS possible, though? MIXING!
Humans (and Demigods) and Dragons can mix and have children in this lore! I would not put it past Godwyn to have some children with his bestie Fortissax, and then some of those mixed children would join Godfrey! x) However, as for Fortissax in particular, Florissax made me doubt a little bit, so let me explain:
youtube
Whereas other Ancient Dragons were shown to be exclusively very bright shade of grey stone, Fortissax is, instead very dark! And I never thought that it was because of Death! The effects it is taking on them seems to be, instead, them losing their rocky skin everywhere and golden insides showing through! There is never evidence of Deathblight changing someone's skin color; not like Rogier gets a model replaced when he gets infected (and you know they do implement different models for questlines)- heck, not even Godwyn himself became darker-skinned!
Literally no one in the setting is more subjected to Deathblight than him, and yet, he didn't quite became charcoal-black or something? :p Just a bit greyer. Pair that with how skin of stone is even less likely to be altered by something biological! Damaged and pricked here and there? Yes! Mutated? Not really. Besides, one dragon standing out is not new for Fromsoft; so, whereas Seath was the only albino Dragon, Fortissax would be the only melanistic Dragon! They are just like this!
Sooooo, if we look at Draconian origin again:
They do look a LOT darker than average stone skin of the Ancient Dragons, right? And who is the Ancient Dragon known for darker skin of stone than their fellows?
Florissax made me second-guess it, because her skin is likewise very dark, as you can see!
At the same time, her face is very red :p This is a very distinct feature! Still, this feels like Fortissax is not the only Ancient Dragon who existed with darker skin, so involvement of Fortissax in Draconian Tarnished existing is not necessary! At the same time, Fortissax fits the best in terms of lore. 🤔
Again, I might be overthinking it! After all, this Draconian look is a preset, so maybe there would also be other Draconian Tarnisheds, with other skin tones, descending from other Ancient Dragons. Maybe they all mingled with the knights who liked dragonbolts TOO much fhdfdhshsdf I might drop involvement of Fortissax and Godwyn entirely, I might hold onto it, I am not sure where my headcanons will take me!
But what I believe for sure is that first Draconian Tarnished had to be children between Ancient Dragons and humanoids, so it'd be possible to divest them of Grace for starters! Then, of course, they could have had descendants. I do not believe that there were Ancient Dragons that left with Godfrey and his warriors themselves either, nor I think they'd live as far away from Farum Azula and Lands Between as to meet Tarnisheds when they populated the lands far away from Lands Between! Godfrey's squad just had literally every sort of people in it by the time they were leaving!

I drew this a month ago but wanted to shade it so i never posted it, but i dont think im ever gonna shade it and i really want to share so! Image ID in alt text.
Updated Kyran design, my current Elden Ring Tarnished. They're an omen! I'm always of the belief that there's more variations of things then what we see in game, so to me the Omen curse ranges from dude with Horns to the Big Gnarly Boys we see in the sewers.
Kyran's father is a more gnarly omen but their mother is a draconian, which is where they get the more rough, scaly patches of skin from. The scar on their side is their dying wound that brought them to The Lands Between. They died protecting their father from attackers.

D&D Armor in Elden Ring
A Fashion Showcase & Advice
Read Part One here
Introduction
Hello! It's me again... already. Yeah I should just make these videos instead of rambling on Tumblr about them. Would you guys watch these as videos? I'm not making much content on my YouTube channel anyway. I can decide that later. Anyways, if you read my post from last night, you would know that I use the twelve different D&D armor types to make my character designs in Elden Ring. Well, I want to go over some different designs I've put together for each of the armor types. I want to use this to show some inspiration to those of you who may not know where to start, and to help show some techniques you can use to make characters with even the lowest endurance wear what looks like plate armor without going overloaded! :D
Before we get into it, I want to introduce our model. This is Tempest:
She's a copy of my original 100% playthrough that I used for my first DLC playthrough. As such, she has the most DLC armor of all of my characters, so she'll be our model for today! As one last little thing: if you haven't you should totally try other races rather than just standard humans for your tarnished! I've got a half wolf for example. I also have one who lives in death, multiple nightfolk, and Tempest here is a Draconian! It can be a fun way to tie your build to your character's design. Without further ado, let's get into it: starting with padded and ending at plate. We, of course, don't need to do unarmored because I'm sure you know how to do clothing. The image descriptions will have the pieces in each armor set, as well as their Elden Ring weight class (unarmored, robes, ultra light, very light, light, light medium, medium, heavy, very heavy, ultra heavy, and oversized)
Padded
Gambeson and Particularly Thick Cloth
Leather
Armor Made Of... Leather...
Studded Leather
Leather Armor With Those Tiny LEGO Bricks
Due to there only being one studded leather set, this is the only example I made.
Hide
Armor Made of Thick Animal Furs and Pelts
Chain Shirt
Shirt Made of Interlocking Rings
Alright, so if you read my last post you're likely looking at the right set a little weirdly. I've been deliberately using chestpieces from the lists of armor in each type until now, so why did I use a suit of armor from full chainmail (briar) for the chain shirt. Well, if it wasn't already obvious, it's because it still LOOKS like a chain shirt when used in this context. The lists are great for full sets, but it gets a lot more nuanced when you start making your own sets. As you'll see throughout a few more types of armor, I'll be trying to use chest armor that's not in the same category I'm building for. Thinking outside of the box a little really helps, as the armor on the right fits for a Raya Lucarian Battlemage with the coloring and the mask, while also being heavier than the armor on the left.
Scale Mail
Armor of Metal "Fish Scales"
Breastplate
A Fitted Metal Chestplate, Without Much Extra Protection
As with the chain shirt, this set's right outfit is using a chestpiece from outside the breastplate category. As with the chain shirt as well, this is to show that you can use sets from other categories to make armor of a desired type. For example, here we used the bloodhound knight chestpiece, which is half plate, but basically any suit of half plate or even full plate can be combined with some light greaves and gloves to make a breastplate with higher defenses! :D
Half Plate
The "Greatest Hits" of the Superior Plate Armor. High Torso Protection with Moderate Limb Protection.
Just like with the breastplate, I used a heavier chestpiece to make the armor on the right. This time, it's a full plate set of armor to make half plate. Just change out the legs for something with only about half of the legs protected, and you can make the gauntlets lighter too without compromising the type of armor.
Ring Mail
Armor made of large rings on a leather backing
You need to get very creative to make ring mail, and use armor that can be mistaken for ring mail. There's no ring mail in the game, so I used the shadow militiaman chestpiece for this, as even I'd mistaken it for ring mail originally when writing my first post on this topic.
Chain Mail
A Suit of Interlocking Metal Rings
So you'll notice that neither of these sets use one of the three chain armor sets in their chestpieces. For the left armor set, it's because the surcoats are individual pieces of armor, which I didn't sort in my last post. For the right, I used the common soldier cloth armor as a tabard, in a similar way the surcoats are used. With the way the armor is laid out, it's implied that chainmail is under the cloth.
Splint
Metal Strips Riveted Onto a Leather Backing
I'll be honest, the Gaius one was a challenge on my part. Gaius's chestpiece kinda sucks to work with lol
Plate
Full-Body Coverings Made with Shaped, Interlocking Metal Plates
Those two armor sets above use chestpieces (and just primarily armor) from the plate armor category. I want to show below two examples where I use robes to make the illusion of plate armor
Both of these use armor in the first two sections to make armor that gives the illusion of plate armor while being significantly lighter. Sure, you lose out on the poise and defense that a plate cuirass offers, but you still get more defense than if you built an unarmored setup using these. This same technique can be used for basically any armor type, but it tends to have the most effect with plate and chainmail. As a quick tip from me before I wrap this up as well, use Blaidd's or the Young Lion's gauntlets to make plated armor even when the sleeves roll up on the robes you're using, as they have enough reach to hide the majority of your skin. This works even better when playing as a draconian, nightfolk, etc. due to their dark skin tones. I betcha didn't even notice the back part of Tempest's forearm sticking out of the armor on the left.
Conclusion
Welp, I hope that read wasn't nearly as long for you as the last one. If you want to see the first post, click here to see it! I hope to make one last part to show the fashion of all of my characters, which totals to roughly 16. I want to show their armor and explain what type of armor I think they're wearing and why. Just like this post, it'll also contain the armor pieces used for each one in the image descriptions! If you made it here, thank you so much for reading. This time, I WON'T be getting sleep because it's only 1525 and I have the rest of the day ahead of me, but I'll probably relax and play Elden Ring while I wait to see what the feedback is here! Goodbye :D

The World Before #3: The Farum Crisis
A short entry - from where came Farum Azula? Additionally, some points on Marika's origins. all entries -> #worldbefore
3.1 The Wandering City
As it currently exists, Farum Azula is beyond the Land’s Between - both in space and time. But was it ever a part of the world?
Its commonly thought that Farum Azula is flying thanks to the residual gravity magic of the meteor that struck it. This is a fair statement, as Farum Azula being essentially in-situ makes the Lands Between into nice solid ring shape. However, fallen Azula ruins can be found across the southern regions - strewn from Liurnia to Caelid. The implication being that the city traveled to its current location west-to-east and was already airborne and crumbling when it entered The Land's Between.
As much as I like the idea that Farum Azula flew in from elsewhere, there is one very major issue: the Elden Ring definitively fell in the Lands Between (see. Elden Stars) and the Farum civilization was cleared based around it (see. Part 1). One solution, is to simply acknowledge Farum Azula is incredibly ancient - perhaps the Lands Between did not yet exist as a continent in that ancient age? After all, there is extensive buried architecture almost everywhere you look.
Stone dragons can be seen embedded in the city’s bedrock. Placidusax is also not classified as an Ancient Dragon (likewise, the Placidusax’ Ruin spell belongs to no school). Sure, it could be an oversight - but it could also suggest an even older generation of ‘Primeval Dragons’ of which Placidusax is the last.
3.2 From Another World
All that handwringing over the city’s origin was really just to ask – are the Numen from Farum Azula? The Numen are clearly stated to be from elsewhere, but how far afield is hard to say. In favor of this idea are a few points.
Numern are ‘long-lived, seldom born’, which seems fitting for the people of time bending city. Caveat to this is the ‘Draconian’ character preset, but it’s never seen in-game, so eh?
Marika’s half-brother was a Beastman cleric
Marika’s Hammer is made of stone (see. Bestial Sling)
Marika was found to be an empyrean, implying the society she came from was familiar with the process of ascending with the Elden Ring.
It’s also possible the Numen arrived from elsewhere but became integrated in the Farum civilization at an early date. This conveniently preserves the Numen’s ‘migration from another world’ narrative while keeping Farum Azula’s origin in the Lands Between.
Numen live a long time, though it’s not explicit as to how long that may be. Marika could have come from Farum Azula, or she could be from a later age after its inhabitants fled the meteor catastrophe. That particular detail isn’t really important, but her connection to the city’s clerics probably is.
One could write about how this background gave Marika the knowhow to structure an entire religion – but that’s off topic for this series.
3.3 The Fall
Though timeless, Farum Azula is ultimately destroyed by meteor strike. It’s safe to say this catastrophe ends the reign of Ancient Dragons - their god flees the city with the Elden Ring, and so they lose the favor of the Greater Will.
As a side note; the present form of Farum Azula is only a fragment of something much larger - be it a city or entire landmass. Ive often wondered if the mysterious land depicted on dragon talisman items is the unbroken Farum Azula. The current city is too fragmentary to say anything conclusive, but having dragons embedded in the land is the closest to the mentioned 'wall of living stone'.
----------------------
This is all for today
TLDR: Farum Azula's original location is enigmatic. Marika's origins can be tied to the city's clergy.
next entry - The Fled God

♡ // For Estinien and Vincent
The more awake time was spent in contemplation, the swifter the veil of bewilderment dispersed. Upon rousing from slumber, the memories of his were bereft of familiarity and comprehension, yet eventually the events of the past reemerged, revealing faces long-forgotten. Amidst the ceaseless cacophony of whispers carried by the ghosts shuffling along the deserted streets, there was one the hunter could distinguish. A fiery woman and a skilled warrior, they met prior to catastrophic events that claimed the land completely. "She is confused and bewildered now, as she knew only her duty and followed orders of the Choir... I was once like this before." A scarcely audible voice described the red-haired female in front of him, devoid of resolve and fervor, now only guided by a sole want to locate a lost sibling, with whom they parted. How much did she remember? Was he recognized at all? In that dying world, mayhap he alone could recollect what transpired, whose mind was touched by the healing hand, granting clarity and purpose.

In a habitual manner hands were placed across his chest, whilst the man wordlessly beheld the golden city from his vantage point. Since the moment dragons and men forged peace, the need to deploy draconian warriors diminished, save for occasional trips to quell the danger of wild beasts. Such utterly uncomfortable idleness wasn't known to common men, who eagerly celebrated the end of the war, those destined to fight would not find solace in peace. That sentiment found home within a soul of another warrior, cursed, but proud. An admiration and mutual respect soon bloomed between the two, yet there was no denial of a thread of melancholy, following her. Her status clashed with her peculiar circumstances, begetting resentment. " 'Tis a hefty burden placed upon her shoulders. And her merit and resolve will be tested." The presence of her brother was a soothing one, the knight could only hope his flame would not flicker...
Upon Shattering, the land transformed, bringing forth incomprehensible corruption, change and death. Where once was aureate glow, now stretched the pools of scarlet rot and deadly blossoms peppered its edges, as the vestiges of gold leisurely faded. There was no rest for the righteous. And the draconian anew was commanded to arise, to cull the corrupted, to cross the fog to the Lands Between, to stand before the Elden Ring. Thus his path eventually crossed with hers, stirring memories and awakening still slumbering consciousness. Her persona could scarcely be forgotten by the knight, an imprint on his soul was left ineradicable; immensely so that the madness she currently was engulfed in pained the man. "Time was not kind to you, old friend. Your sorrow, confusion and pain— my spear will end it all." The gloved hand tightened grip upon his weapon, a tarnished gaze was lifted at the female in front of him, as with deliberate and confident strides he was shortening the distance between them.

-- Second Prototaxite Incident: Hair --
Hello,
It is with great ANGER I inform you that I have been beset with another moment akin to, months ago, that I saw images of prototaxite fossils.
Some of you may recall my post from some time ago, regarding my theory (Though not presumably mine, cause frankly I'd be really surprised if I actually was the first to suggest this concept.) that the mountain Leyndell is built on top of, as well its crater, crater lake, central island *to* that crater lake, the incredibly long vertical chamber ending with the Forsaken Depths, the Deeproot Depths themselves, and the formations of the Siofra and Ainsel Rivers (Google images of 'lava tubes' and compare them to the entrance areas of Ainsel, to quickly see what I mean for those ones, specifically.) all seem to indicate that what I have been referring to lately as 'Mt Leyndell,' was in-fact, an active volcano, looooong in the past.
I have literally SO much fucking circumstantial evidence that can be framed to support this theory. It's a blast.
Come that part of "Episode 2," (I'll be announcing the new-and-improved forecast for all of that on Monday, as planned.) you'll see what I mean for yourself. So I'm not gonna go into any other details here.
The real point of this post is, just like the first time this happened, that moments ago I found another piece of what is, to confirm, literally just circumstantial evidence. The only proof is in my eyeballs, just as before, it's literally just appearances. That I nonetheless find so completely random in how precise it is, that I can scarcely imagine what else kind of reveal it could be foreshadowing.
Assuming, of course, that it *is* specifically, foreshadowing *something,* in the first place. Which is not an insignificant assumption to make.
My own literal lack of imagination is of course not a sign of any clairvoyance. The video that will include the covering of this topic itself will go over it all properly, and there is a *lot* I still haven't said, regarding my so-called 'Mt Leyndell,' and ensuing potential implications for the rest of the story, if such a thing was actually revealed. ('Mt Leyndell' isn't even the actual name of the topic as a whole.)
(And if you want to be cheeky about it, too. The four colours currently associated with the powers of the Elden Ring: Black, Yellow, Orange, and Red, are also all found in lava as well! With the molten rock itself, and then the hardened outer crust of it. And there's also the interaction between the Rune of Death and obsidian as expressed through the Godslayer equipment and, then there's the whole Capital of Ash thing, with embers falling down from the sky for days upon days proceeding it and then, uh... hm...............)
I think I am beating around the bush.
To shorten it all, then: "Get excited!" and the random-ass fucking HAIR on Marika's hammer in the E3 reveal teaser, a trillion fucking years ago for this game, is fucking pele's hair.
No shit the magic of the Fire Giants all look the way they do, then, don't they? No shit, the 'Draconian' preset, from the character creator, says they didn't LIVE for very long, isn't it!? No shit, a tree sprouting next to a mountain with a lake on top, would be given a moniker like 'the melting pot of ancient life' during the age of the ancient dragons where that same tree, during the *current* age, for no clear reason, isn't! As well as why the powers of the Elden Ring, responsible for the Living Jars, are drawn the otherwise completely random thematic connection to STEWING.
And so on and so on. I'm of course just teasing. You'll see all of this and more (and as a lot more interesting, I hope, than all this is appearing here) in that video itself.
Will it be eventually revealed somehow that my identification is wrong, and that this and everything else had actually been foreshadowing something else entirely!? Heavens-to-betsy, I'm going to be furious if it doesn't.
As they say, confidence kills the gambling heart. And I hold mine very close.
I'll Be Yours, T-L-G-T-W

Elden Ring Eyre as a Draconian
Finally, the bitch is dead and I own his drip.
The hat is fab but the helmet is woeful. The outfit works great to explore with the blue noble hood..
This is very much the sort of drip I'd rock IRL. Much superior to my NASA shirt and very gender neutral. I have a need...
Found my future wife's former body. Things are complicated in Elden Ring.
Stayed with her some... I know the going theory is that runes are the reason Marika's kids got so big, but Ranni's body here is pre-shattering and literally twice my human height if not more. they're all enormous people to begin with.
