I drew this a month ago but wanted to shade it so i never posted it, but i dont think im ever gonna shade it and i really want to share so! Image ID in alt text.
Updated Kyran design, my current Elden Ring Tarnished. They're an omen! I'm always of the belief that there's more variations of things then what we see in game, so to me the Omen curse ranges from dude with Horns to the Big Gnarly Boys we see in the sewers.
Kyran's father is a more gnarly omen but their mother is a draconian, which is where they get the more rough, scaly patches of skin from. The scar on their side is their dying wound that brought them to The Lands Between. They died protecting their father from attackers.

I like Diavolo’s demon form I think it really emphasizes the royal part of his identity but it is not practical at all especially in combat, so my current headcanon is that is his ceremonial robes for when the realm is in relative peace. I also thought, hey I love designing armor and designing armor around four big ass wings sounds like a fun challenge so this was my first pass at Diavolo in combat.
I added satyr legs because I wanted to add more inhuman elements to his fighting form but I dropped them after this one(mainly because I’m focused on redesigning is canon form). the cold shoulder? type things were meant to add more mobility for his wings but they probably would be more harm then good, Also the wings don’t exactly make sense, I do enlarge them when I draw them because to me have 4 wings disproportional to your body just looks silly and if you look at bat wings(which I assume Diavolo’s wings are based off of) they are like two times the body size now I don’t make them that large but I’m still trying to make them more realistic. The arm plates and gauntlets are just bad, I said I like designing armor not that I’m good at it.
Things I like about this design I like the skull knee plates really amps up the demon lord factor, I like the torso part of the chest plate, I think scythes are a very cool weapon for Diavolo to have , and I like how I drew his expression and hair, Diavolo’s hair is so hard to get right for me for whatever reason.
second pass! really junked up his face in this one but I like other parts of it so I left it be. The skulls are now on his shoulders, but I honestly like the beast skulls better then the human ones. he really should a helmet and better thigh protection but I couldn’t figure out what would look good. I will probably try to figure out how draw helmets that accommodate horns later. I simplified the arms a lot but I’m not sure if it made it better.
There’s a lot more I like in this design though, the wings are cleaner and make more sense I still would like to draw them larger though. I really like how I designed the scythe I feel it really goes with his aesthetic. I was basing the chest plate of the human circulatory system and I like that idea because for all intents and purposes he is the heart of the devildom :) I like the idea of asymmetry for his leg armor and can defiantly expand on what’s there. If I may say so myself, the greaves fuck ! I just think they look cool and will draw a better reference for them later.
more in depth on the chestplate and padding as well as a better drawings of how I think his wings work underneath the cut
this is a more in depth look at the chestplate and how it would work with his wings with some minor changes. the wings are translucent so I can map how the the ties would connect underneath them. The biggest challenge in this was designing armor that would allow him to his wings to their fullest extent while protecting his back as much as possible. so the ties would be leather(most likely of some creature of the devildom) and should be thicker and shorter than here the part the ties go into should also be more visible. Leather can be used for armor and is more malleable then plate armor. So a lot of what’s protecting his back will be underneath this armor as padding. Beyond that he should have some manner of protection on the bony parts of his wings but this would be much thinner then the main armor pieces as to not weigh them down.
the wings make more sense and are about the size I think they should be. They were more referenced from bats than the canon pictures and I didn’t draw the gilded parts bc I did not want to. I do think the neck part shouldn’t be as thin as it is here and should have more room. Overall I think this is the chestplate design I like the best.
these are drawing of what would be under the chestplate as I would never commit such a sin as having heavy metal on bare skin or even on just a shirt. the padding would be fairly similar to a fencer’s padding with areas for his wings to go through. The middle part and shoulder areas would be made of the same leather that ties the chestplate together but would be harder and thicker than those.
underneath the padding would be a tunic that is very similar to a lace up tunic except backwards again to make it easier for the wings to go out. It’s split at the sides to make sure that there’s no danger of tripping. the ties are at both the top and the bottom so when his wings go back in he can tighten it faster. I initially thought the bottom part of the tunic would go over the bottom wings but that wouldn’t work well so don’t mind that.
the bottom wings when resting are folded back kind of like a birds and the horn parts would rest around his waist. while the tops wings are either folded back like above(or more closed in so that the top horns can rest on the back of his head) or flip so that the horns point downward and rest at the bottom of his back while the bottom part of the wings would be near his head as that would have more support for the horns as they are the heavier parts.
