“least favorite” isn’t anywhere close to bad. it just shows how damn hard the competition is going, but we’re talking about gold medals all around for each actor i’ve seen portray the doctor so far.
It only concerns me a little bit I haven’t really seen a written introspection on Stampede Knives’ character, specifically him. 98 is 98 and Maximum Knives has enough elitists on his case to cover him, definitely not a fan favourite but people have broken him down.
I’m aware of how disliked he is, Stampede that is, but it really is something. Could I write it, and could I kill an analysis of him? Most likely. I’ve been injecting the character into my veins, breathing him in and out for a year, every incarnation of him.
But I’m so curious to see someone else do it. Curious to see if someone else will do it…Maybe to convince myself I’m not a complete fool, or stuck in delusion. Maybe to find someone else that got it.
Hate and disdain, is something I’ll never protect him from. He’s an asshole. But man, even he doesn’t deserve the shallow reading of him that’s too widely accepted I think.
We've started the event in style, with 19 prompts and 6 fills counting from the day it began.
There's been a very welcome diversity in prompts and in the fills up until now we've seen some Mary/Shannon, Camila & Lilith, Ava/Beatrice, Jillian/Suzanne and a mysterious but captivating entry concerning the ark and Mary. There are some promising unfilled prompts ranging from avatrice to Shannon/Suzanne (!) waiting, though, so week 2 should be a delight if the prompts and the fills keep up the creativity.
Come and join us to see what the next week of the fest will bring! Leave a prompt of your own, submit a fill, leave a comment on one of the fics... Everyone is invited to the party!
I’ve been so caught up thinking about the fight sequences and the animation styles and the writing and the antics aand the everything about Spy Family Code White that I forgot about the Ferris wheel. Oh my god oh my god oh my god the Ferris wheel.
So like??? I don't know if I understood this correctly, but the music wwx plays to settle Wen Ning's aggression at the beginning of the first volume is the wangxian song lwj composed and sang/played for him when they were in the cave as kids???
Like. You're telling me that wwx's instinctive focal point of comfort is lwj and lwj was just expected to be normal about all of this.
I'm. rotating this in my head as we speak wwx you're so aksjldfgdhjskjghkfjdh
I was just thinking again about how much I love the idea of D&D Elizabeth/Darcy as a sorcerer/wizard spellcasting duo.
I particularly like storm sorcerer Elizabeth/abjuration wizard Darcy, with Elizabeth as an offensive powerhouse and Darcy a defensive one, and both kind of judgy about each other, yet sorcerers are famously (in fact definitionally!) versatile and a skilled wizard is scary at the best of times.
(Elizabeth is always ready to use Silvery Barbs and Hold Person against Jane's foes and Darcy carefully prepares Lightning Bolt every morning.)
Peak at a single-page comic I started months ago. Like probs around before or just after Ballad got an updated design. But I really wanted to work on it again coz I love this interaction so much.
Man... Given the absolutely stunning and overwhelming power we've seen both Knives and Vash display throughout the series, can you imagine how many plants Knives could have saved if he somehow, miraculously had a change of heart? Humans struggling to survive are prone to making desperate decisions, always. And of course Knives could never, ever see this as anything but humanity's "true" nature because for him to admit that he was wrong and then have to live with being wrong would mean he'd actually have to face the immense trauma eating him away inside. He'd have to own up to not all of his actions being justified; he'd have to admit he's been a hypocrite like Vash readily does throughout the series.
It's not only in one way that Vash is the stronger twin.
AU where Savitar, being Barry Allen's variant, kicks Zoom and Eobard's butts in the s9 finale
Better idea than canon ffs. Also, I do not know Sav as well as I know normal Barry so I apologize if I get his characterization wrong
He does side with the bad guys at first (I am not calling them the Legion of Zoom. who approved that shit) but ultimately plans to betray them soon as he gets what he wants/needs; changing the future enough to bring himself back into existence (idk how it would work but alas, neither did the writers).
The betrayal would probably come a little early, working on the same side as those who killed his dad and mom respectively would understandably be diffcult; and Savitar doesn't hold back like Barry. I actually think it would happen when Thawne goes after Nora (XS), I say that cause I really don't think even Savitar would try to kill his own daughter without reason; so when everyone runs off to fight, he would go after *checks notes* Allegra instead (as someone he has no connections/attachment to) and put her out of commission one way or another since it's confirmed (how? WHO KNOWS *screams*) that he knew who she was.
So Thawne goes after Nora and Sav decides he won't let that banana bastard hurt or kill anymore of his family (whether she's technically his kid or not) and stops him. Thawne of course gloats about how he {as a version Barry Allen} won't kill him. They fight and he lets Thawne get a few hits in for fun-- then Savitar gets to see that sweet look on his nemesis's face when he realizes who's faster, and stops holding back. The first 'fight' between Savitar and Barry in season 3? Yeah picture that but a lot more brutal and somehow more personal. Then, once Thawne is thoroughly beat to hell; Sav reverse flashes him and runs off to fight the other person who once destroyed his life.
He runs through the tunnel just before Zoom would have killed all the officers (since Khione and Mark are already knocked out if not dead-- this is what happened. don't even.), and does it without his suit so Zoom will chase him (cause all he'll see is yellow lightning). Of course, once they get to a new location and see each other face to face; Zoom gets in a quick gloat about how they really were the same after all. Savitar lets him have that; it's not true + will make it all the better in a few seconds. Same with Thawne, he lets Zoom get a few hits in, maybe even feigns fear-- and then Sav fucking obliterates him in a 'fight' that parallels the one in Enter Zoom. Hell, he should break Zoom's back for extra funsies. We get a scene similar to 2x23 where Zoom says Sav won't kill him; but this time, he does.
Things go mostly according to canon from here. Eddie absorbs all the NSF users lifeforce (or smth idk what that was man), and Savitar ends up going with it. He doesn't accept this 'death', but there is a brief moment of catharsis with the revenge before he's once again erased from existence.
