Thoughts for The Montkraken Episode

so, I just finished the chapter and… wow I have a lot to say. I took screen shots for every part I wanted to talk about and I think this rant will be SUPERRRR long so bear with me. Tumblr won’t let me add screenshots so when I have better service I’ll edit the post to add them. These paragraphs are theories and side notes that I wrote after reading a certain section so you’re gonna see my thought process throughout the story. As always, spoilers ahead so I recommend skipping this if you haven’t read it already.

Alright so I was once a hater of this ship BUT… the Shobaru shippers may have a point in this guys 😭. LIKE.. I HAVE THE SCREENSHOT OF SUBARU BLUSHING UHHH. That is not a heterosexual stare feller 🤨…

AHHHHHHH THE FROSTHEIM DUO ARE BACKKKKK!!! I missed them so so much they’re so silly and deserve the best. Honestly the only two I trust in this school cause I CANT. I literally suspect anyone but them, but Imma be so disappointed if either of them are hiding something. I’ll be sad, but like I’ll help 🙄. I was actually so sad when the MC mentioned being the reason they could be in danger like GIRLLLLL DONT SAY THAT PLEASEEEEE. ITS LIKE THE ANGST WITH ADEUCE AND YUU LIKE STAWPOPP. Also when the Vagastorm kids were like “aw yeah Mido wouldn’t lie like that” it makes me happy that people can at least trust him enough to be honest and idk I found that kinda sweet :3. We’re also getting a bit of a timeline, like the One-Eyed Sleeping Beauty Murder being BEFORE the clash (sorry if this was already mentioned I don’t really remember stuff from the past chapters) which could’ve been a trigger.

Also, I feel like they’re trying to tell us that Jiro is Zenji’s brother because when he had that little laugh about the MC being scared of bodies, he said too. When you click the “too?” option, he just says that he isn’t the one afraid. It’s not Yuri as well cause he’s literally a doctor that is in the same room when autopsies are in session. Whatever the case, I assume he was referencing to Zenji, though it being a blurry memory. Little theory tho.

OK SO THIS IS JUST SO FUNNY TO ME. In Chapter 9’s title it says, “Girl Learns Shocking Truth About Monster”. I like to think the shocking truth was the fact he didn’t shower for 3 days 😭. CAUSE THATS THE PART SHE SOUNDS MOST SHOCKED. Idk that part was silly to me. THEY’RE OUTFITS FOR THEIR DORM IS SOOOOOO PRETTY. They ate I fear, a bit more than the other dorms. Also side note, they dropped A LOT of info with just how they word things. For example, Yuri saying “Jiro, you are well aware that I will not be associated with those germs AGAIN.” Soooo Yuri was in Frostheim? I don’t doubt it bc there’s another line that says “I’d rather not recall how bitterly cold that place is” which can MEAN TWO THINGS. I’m super sure that they’re implying that yeah, he was, but then something happened blah blah blah.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH HYDE AND DANTE??? Like ok bitches, spill your shot to us too don’t be shy. So, confirmed by them, Dante and Hyde used to go to school in Darkwick (which I assume the rest of the teachers are too). That explains their back and forth. WHAT REALLY CAUGHT MY EYE WERE THESE LINES.

Hyde: “…You really are a softie, Dan-Dan.” (Haha Dan- Dan)

Dante: “It would seem that way to someone as cold as you.” (???) “…There are lines that shouldn’t be crossed, Hyde.”

Hyde: “…I’ll keep that in mind.”

WHATTTTT. WHAT ARE THE LINES. GO IN DETAIL ARGHHHHH. This gives us more info on the character individually too. Dante describes Hyde as cold… DANTE. So, it was obvious that this whole happy go lucky attitude was fake, but I expected to be more like Haru’s kind of attitude not like that yk?? now I know how much of a cash grab this game is, but I really hope they aren’t going to stretch the story out too long to the point where you have to P2W cause I haven’t paid a cent and I don’t plan to. I still want to learn more about them and stuff so :(. On the topic of Dante, there was a small flashback where I missed a word in the sentence that Dante said while talking with Alan. “I’m the man you supposedly killed.” Supposedly?? Now, I didn’t my catch this in my first run, but now it’s like wdym supposedly?? Shouldn’t you know? This is giving hella Jiro vibes and honestly, I’m getting sick and tired of these characters having a bad memory.

SPEAKING OF JIRO- he seems to have problems remembering things and they come back to him in the very weird moments (honestly a kin moment). I would like the think that he’s just suffering from the damages he had to go through from the clash. His relationship with Yuri is so… sad to me. Yuri seems to doubt him a little bit and I feel like he sees him as just a specimen, not much of a friend. Meanwhile, Jiro smiles a lot to Yuri and listens to him like a master, like that’s what he’s supposed to do. NOT AGAINST HIS OWN WILL DONT GET ME WRONG. He’s just so neutral about it it makes me a bit like awwww :(. They’re cute tho idrc.

Ok moving on to Haku and Tohma. (Ok at this point I’m getting nervous cause why are we seeing so many characters now. That’s probably just a coincidence). OK THESE TWO HAVE GOT IT GOING. Like there’s tension when you get their chat in the campus but this is like woahhhh… Also I don’t like how Tohma says “our wheelhouse? I see..” it makes me think he’s like implying “so you think you’re a part of them now?” IDK THATS JUST MY LITTLE STRETCH. Also poor Zenji, he’s like “aw yeah I died in vain lol” LIKE OUCH.

Nicholas. I DO NOT LIKE HIM. I REPEAT. I DO NOT LIKE HIM FOR A MINUTE OF A SECOND. The only staff I like are the cats, the grocer guy, and MAYBE Dante. LIKE HES SO… NORMAL?? LIKE THERE’S SOMETHING WEIRD GOING ON IK THERE IS. When MC says “I can’t believe Professor Nicolas would do something like that” I DO 😡🙋‍♀️. I am in full support of Yuri finding crimes against this guy.

Also, little other side note, I just realized that Yuri and Jiro have matching earring in opposite ears. It’s so cute.

Ok I might have to go back to the beginning and see what the “goat like anomaly” Jiro is talking about when he mentions the prophecy, cause I said “… the chancellor is a goat??” BUT ANYWAYS. Speaking of the prophecy, I’ll jot it down.

“The whisper of the new moon shall lead the champion to the academy on the solitary island. So long as the champion resides there, the world shall be sheltered from profound tragedy.”

Stating the obvious here, but this is most likely referencing to the last cutscenes we get when we choose our characters. I’ve checked the cutscenes again and there’s no visible moon, meaning it could correlate to the “new moon” portion. (Search up new moon to see what I mean). Assuming Solitary island means death, that would also help with the theory. So, whoever we chose in the beginning might just be the person who won the Laurel Crown.Honestly, this is just a silly little Drabble for a theory and VERY vague. Maybe the champion resides in the events of the past that we still don’t know about but this kinda helps?? Idk I’m just putting what I think at the moment. I’ll probably reread the game so I can get a better timeline. Also, Yuri’s rant about demon particles… doesn’t exactly sit right with me. Were they chosen to be resilient or was it just a birth thing?? Idk but I feel like a lot is missing from his theory. I mean, we’re using human logic to a supernatural cause so I don’t think pacts acting as allergies would work. If they’re not chosen, could it be that the ghouls can make pacts with more than one demon? I wanna see what happens if that was the case. Please comment if I missed something 😭.

Ok Towa appeared. (Why are we seeing so many characters I don’t like this) and we went back to that tree… WHAT IS THAT TREE?? And what the hell do you mean the fruit grew? What is that fruit supposed to be? An anomaly going to birth?? Is it supposed to represent the houses?? Motivation?? It seems so weird to me cause we just got introduced to that tree last episode. Sighs.

OK REN AND RITSU. WHAT IS GOING ON. I GUESS SINCE THIS IS THE LADT CHAPTER FOR INTRODUCING CHARACTERS BUT LIKE … STOP. I feel like something is going to happen with the MC pls 😭. Anyway, those two talking about ramen is so cute please don’t ever change you virgin and lizard looking freak 🫶( with love of course). GROCER GUYYYYYYY. YIPPEE :3!! I love that the cat is the owner and not the human lmao.

Also I will always be a MC defender cause she is so relatable. “Why are hospitals so creepy at night?” GIRL IKKKKKK. Idc what y’all say, the fact that she’s normal is keeping me sane from these freaky deaky events. ILOVE NORMAL CHARACTERS! LIKE MATSUDA FROM DEATH NOTE OR THAT ONE GUY FROM MASHELE. For the Montkraken Mermaid, they seem to refer to it as “it” or “that mermaid”, but when they speak of the second mermaid, they use personal pronouns like “he /him”. Haru’s expression as well when he heard someone was abusing mermaid flesh… it’s a new one with a little crease under his eye. It’s such a sad face like, did he know this mermaid personally or was this fear?? Either way, I wanna meet him cause the other one was so pretty.

This is the first time I’ve written about a crippled MC, so I hope I didn’t fuck this up or anything. I found out that being paralysed in both legs is a disability called Paraplegia so that’s how I titled this post. And y’all are too sweet, you are more than welcome anon! I hope I can portray this properly because I am not crippled myself so I’ve opted to do some research before writing this! I hope you like it! Also, I feel inclined to add that none of the brothers would treat you too differently if you happen to have a disability because you’re their human nonetheless :)

The Brothers with an MC that has Paraplegia and needs a wheelchair to get around:

Lucifer:

-Lucifer was in charge of choosing the final human, exchange student for the program so it’s guaranteed he already knew about your predicament before you even arrived

-Him and Diavolo probably had many meetings concerning your disability before the program could commence, considering that being unable to walk would double the chances of you getting killed since you are obviously more vulnerable

-Not to mention all the treatment you would require

-Lucifer is not well versed in human illnesses and disorders, but he makes sure that he is educated enough on the matter before you get brought down there

-It would not be easy, but he is determined to help you survive your year in DevilDom for the prince’s sake

-First problem of the day was, of course, your wheelchair

-Due to lack of time, Lucifer was unable to instal ramps around the House of Lamentation which meant that for the first couple of weeks, someone would’ve had to help you move around certain parts of the house

-He gave that highly prestigious job to himself because he didn’t trust his brothers and thought they would accidentally drop you and your wheelchair down the stairs

-He talks a lot to you, even at the beginning, because he needs to establish your needs and what he should do to make sure you don’t die for the following year

-You would have to tell him about physical therapy and how most commonly it uses heat, massage and exercise to stimulate your nerves and muscles, making it a great treatment for people with leg paralysis

-Once you two enter a more intimate and personal relationship, it’s more than likely he’ll help you perform those things himself (instead of kidnapping a human doctor from somewhere)

-Lucifer knows you have no problem getting around with your wheelchair by yourself but there are times where he’ll insist to push you along in order to give you a quick break

-I can totally imagine you two strolling around DevilDom and having cosy chats about RAD and your adjustments to DevilDom

-He has a softer side to him that he’s afraid to show most of the time, but he feels so at ease when you’re around, it’s hard for him to hold that part of him hidden from you

-Of course, your safety still remains his primary concern and he acts more like your guardian than Mammon does, even if he was originally supposed to look out for you

-He will accompany you almost anywhere. And if he can’t, he’ll have one or more of his brothers do it. And even then he’s probably lurking nearby, just in case

-He would always be willing to listen about your condition, if you wished to tell him whether you were born with the defect or why you ended up crippled later in life. Either way, he’s all ears

-If you would rather not speak about it, he wouldn’t pry and respect your decision because he knows it’s not his place to pressure you

-Because of your paralysis, it’s quite obvious to demons that you are even weaker (physically speaking) than most humans and that usually puts a target on your back

-Howver, never fear, because Lucifer is pretty quick to put lower rank demons in their place with just a mere stare

-Oop one of them passed out from the fear, haha

-In conclusion, he’s the most responsible when it comes your comfort and safety during your stay

-He makes sure you are always left in good hands and and provides most of the requirements you need

-Y’all should see how his wings puff up when he senses a threat approaching you, he looks like a peacock ready to go on attack lol

Mammon:

-The second born is unsurprisingly a bit of a jerk at first

-He stays really grumpy the whole day of your arrival because he’s stuck babysitting you stupid human

-“Lucifer c’mon, what’s all this workload for? The human can’t even walk by themselves, why do I have to help them out?”

-Wtf Mammon you can’t say shit like that

-Anyways, the following very few days, the only thing he’s thinking about is how much money he could sell your wheelchair for

-He’s the literal incarnation of greed, what else did you expect from him?

-After a while, he starts feeling a bit guilty every time he thinks about it though

-Mammon is gonna take this secret to the grave (laughs in immortal) but he actually really likes pushing you around

-Maybe it’s because it’s a clear indication to everyone around him that you are HIS human, under HIS protection and therefore you trust HIM the most since he was your FIRST MAN

-He will insist on helping you get out of that thing when you need to go to bed and stuff every night and he will get pouty real fast if you let any of his other brothers do it

-You wake up to him trying to roll around in your wheelchair one night at like 3am

-At some point, he stole a wheelchair from the human realm to match with his human. You can guess the consequences of his actions

-I can imagine you having to face a staircase or something at school and Mammon being like:

-“Fuck it, imma carry this fragile human instead; wheelchair and all!”

-Like you were a sack of potatoes or something smh

-Cue his brothers watching him from a distance as he heaves you and basically weight-lifts you up the stairs

-Ok but every now and again, he gets so sad thinking about you not being able to walk, like he starts crying kinda sad

-While you stand there like 😐 “Why are you crying?”

-He’s so quick to help if he senses you’re in danger too

-It’s canon that Mammon is crazy fast if he wants to be so if he has even the slightest impression that your life is threatened, his feet are already moving

-He will charge at your immediate threat at around 120 miles per hour-do not try him when he’s mad

-“The Great Mammon saved the day! C’mon MC, let’s go buy some ice cream. My treat! Ya better be grateful!”

-He says while the demon that tried to eat you lies on the floor with about a dozen broken bones

-Mammon is the second most powerful demon out of all of his brothers, even if he doesn’t resort to violence often

Levi:

-He didn’t really know how to react when you first teleported to DevilDom

-I mean, from the very beginning he considered you to be a human normie but at the same time, he felt bad you were stuck with his brothers for the rest of the year

-I think he would understand you would have an even harder time integrating yourself in their house because of your disability and he knows his siblings are really fucking annoying, always pushing you around and whatnot

-So, he kinda lets you hide in his room quite often

-You guys chill out in there all the time, much to the dismay of the other brothers who also want to spend time with you

-At some point, Levi definitely begged asked Lucifer to let you start online classes with him

-“But wouldn’t it be easier for MC to do online school from home rather than go to R.A.D since there aren’t any ramps or anything around there???”

-“The answer is no Leviathan.”

-“Ugh fine! What a fucking boomer-“

-For some reason, he gets so flustered whenever you ask him to push you around

-He blushes right to the tips of his ears and then he starts sputtering some nonsense that you can’t make out at all

-But he’s more than happy to do it, especially if you guys are going to a convention or if he’s dragging you out to buy new merch

-You two would get along in the sense that Levi realises the struggles you faced all your life were tough to overcome and he believes you are just like him

-Usually left out by other people, ignored even

-He knows you always listen to him ramble on about whatever he is currently obsessed with and how much you check up on him to make sure he never isolated himself

-He wants to do that for you too! Talk to him about your hobbies, please I’m begging you-he feels so bad whenever he’s doing all the talking

-If you ask him to help you with anything (getting something, helping you into bed—that sort of thing), he legally and physically can’t say ‘no’

-And he would get envious enough to stop talking to you for a day or two if you let his brothers do it instead (the second and third born are indeed similar lmao)

-S T A Y I N H I S R O O M, W H E R E Y O U C A N B E P R O T E C T E D !

-He will feel so much more at ease if you’re in his room because to him, that’s his haven

-If you’re in there with him, that means you’re not getting involved in his siblings’ endless and dangerous shenanigans

-Whenever you’re at school, he can’t help but worry about your well-being

-Because you’re human! You’re gonna get killed!! Do you know how much your organs sell on the black market in DevilDom??? 100x more than in the human realm, that’s for sure

-Would they have a black market or would it be a regular market lol

-For some reason, he also likes staying in your wheelchair when you’re not using it

-I think he just takes comfort in knowing it’s something that belongs to you and smells like you and-

-OK Levi, sit back down

-He wouldn’t treat you any differently if you had a disability tbh, but he’d be more concerned because you can’t even run away or anything

-So he’s so fuckin’ relieved when you guys are just vibing in his room

-He could die happy knowing he kept his best friend/ partner safe

Satan:

-Satan would be even more prepared for your arrival than Lucifer would, in a sense

-Out of all of his brothers, he’s most likely to understand and recognise paraplegia (either from studying human illnesses/birth defects/disabilities or from encountering humans with said disability)

-He’s a smart boy, alright?

-Always seems to be the first to notice if you need help or if someone’s bothering you

-Though in the very beginning, he was pretty tempted to just let you get killed to see how angry Lucifer could get

-Seeing dear Luci’s misery brings him great joy 🥰🥰🥰

-Once you two manage to build a very honest and strong relationship, he feels more and more inclined to keep you out of harm’s way

-Pls, he would feel so honoured if you let him push you around (it’s like you asked him to h*ld h*nds or something)

-If you require treatment of any kind, he would be so happy to help

-But in a subtle way...?

-Satan makes it seem so smooth too like he doesn’t mind lending a helping hand when in reality he’s all giddy inside

-*Kinda wants to rub it in his brothers’ faces but at the same no, because he’s definitely the bigger person here

-He wants to know how your wheelchair works

-It’s got all of these neat mechanisms and he wants to learn how they’re constructed because he never had the chance to inspect one before

-He’s such a sweetheart about asking you as well and never pries about your disability unless you start elaborating yourself

-Most of the time, he acts all charming and very gentleman-like

-So people have a hard time spotting and acknowledging the building rage inside of him every time he sees you are threatened by some moronic low rank demon

-Satan’s usually chill when it comes to injuries, unless he can see you’re in horrible pain

-There’s nothing a few spells can’t accomplish

-But when others purposefully try harming you?

-It’s like he loses all the self control he’s been trying to perfect over the centuries and he can’t help himself from at least breaking someone’s rib cage

-Satan’s a weird one because he’s protective of you even though he’s more on the relaxed side when compared to his siblings

-He very much acknowledges that you made it this far in life with your predicament so he doesn’t feel the need to baby you or anything

-You’re strong and he knows this

-It’s one of the many things he clearly loves about you

-That one time you rolled over Mammon’s foot with your wheelchair on purpose, he was wheezing

Asmo:

-Even now, he can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be stuck inside a wheelchair for the rest of his eternal life

-I mean, he’d obviously still be absolutely fabulous, have you seen him? He’s gonna be gorgeous either way

-But after the two of you meet, he definitely starts thinking about how he takes his feet for granted all the time

-It would be so difficult to complete his daily tasks without the ability to walk or run around

-He’s either going to a) fall asleep after 30 seconds and slump over you in the middle of RAD’s halls

-You’ve almost fallen off your wheelchair multiple times because of this asshole

-Not that he’d actually let you fall, he just wants to see how easily he can get you to yell at him

-Speaking of said wheelchair, like Mammon and Levi, he also loves using it when you’re not

-You’ve woken up to him curled up and asleep in that thing quiet often and he’s gotten in trouble over it every time with Lucifer

-But he doesn’t care

-And at this point, I don’t think even he knows whether he’s doing it to get a reaction out of you or because he somehow found a way to make himself comfortable there

-He would low key use you as a mode of transportation every time you go to RAD

-Just clings the damn wheelchair and almost topples both of you over

I Thought We Were Brothers Ch. 2: We’re Living Different Lives

Summary: Things get awkward for Chase, and Marvin does some more thinking.

Marvin didn’t know how things could get more awkward. He was standing in City Hall’s meeting room, watching Dark playing human, while looking so insulted and bored, or Chase trying to be the picture of professionalism.

It’d be funny, if it wasn’t so busy being uncomfortable.

“I don’t see why a regular security team isn’t enough,” Damien tried to excuse, a hand massaging his temple.

“It’s a miracle you were able to survive the other two times!” Someone on the council shouted. “It sends a bad message, we can barely keep up with Dark, we can’t have gangs trying to kill you.”

Marvin fought the laugh and he saw the shadow of a smile on Damien’s face.

That’s it, it’s back to being funny! Marvin decided.

Jackie cleared his throat, “We’ll get ta[1] as the bottom ‘a[2] this. Don’t worry.”

“Thank you,” another person on the council said. “Hopefully this won’t be a permanent engagement.”

Eventually the details were discussed and the three Septics followed Damien into his office.

“This is completely unnecessary,” Damien threw his office door open with his aura. “It’s absolutely ridiculous. I got “kidnapped” by Wilford once and they didn’t seem nearly as upset about it then.”

“Well it’s not our fault yeh[3] let yerself[4] get damseled e’ery[5] other week,” Chase snickered. “Maybe yeh[3] shouldn’t be so good at lookin’[6] like a sitting duck ta[1] the other gangs.”

“I am perfectly capable of protecting myself,” Damien huffed, sitting down at his desk. “You three can go back to whatever you do with your time when you’re not meddling in my affairs.”

Damien even punctuated his request by trying to shoo them away with his hand.

“Nah, yer[7] stuck with us,” Jackie smiled. “It’ll be just like ol’[8] times, ‘cept[9] now we know yer[7] a manipulative arsehole[10].”

The mayor groaned in frustration. “I can see today’s a wash.”

“So what do yeh[3] do when yer[7] actually here?” Jackie asked.

“Depends on the day,” Damien sounded so disinterested in everything. “Either I’m up to my eyeballs in state papers and propositions to read through, or I have meetings all day. Sometimes if it’s a rare slow day and I have nothing else to do I’ll bring some of my work from my actual office and work on that.”

“Wow, yeh really ain’t pretendin’ here are yeh?”[11] Chase snarked, walking over to the side of Dark’s desk and stuck his hands in his pockets.

“It’s not my fault this town is full of sheep,” Dark scoffed, leaning back in his chair.

When he leaned back, a hand came out of a swirling pink and yellow portal. Wil reached out and grabbed the back of Dark’s chair and yanked it through the portal. Only Chase was close and fast enough to follow after a very startled Dark, who flickered back to his usual self as he was yanked through and Chase dove in after him just before the portal snapped shut.

“Oh, fook[12],” Jackie realized, noticing that both Chase and Dark were gone.

The back of Dark’s chair tipped over, hitting the ground hard and it made it so he was looking up at Wilford and Anti.

“Darkling, there you are my dear,” Wilford gasped and used his aura to pick Dark up.

“Wil, put me down!” Dark demanded with an insulted huff, which Wilford just laughed at and kissed Dark’s cheek.

“What kept yeh[3]?” Anti snickered. “We got some demon hunters ta[1] kill.”

Dark rolled his eyes.

“I mean if yeh wanna take fiver an’ just—”[13] Anti started to joke much to Dark’s immediate irritation.

But Anti was cut off when he shot right in the face by Chase who barely hesitated, he put in different rounds and jolted the glitch demon with a perfect shot.

Dark started, he and Wil looking over at Chase, the tv host acting as if he didn’t recognize the masked hero. Which wouldn’t be the first time it had happened.

“Oh, you’re here,” Dark commented.

Wil’s mustache twitched in vague recognition, finally putting Dark back on his feet. “Do we know you?”

“Fooker,”[14] Chase spat under his breath, lowering his gun a bit.

“Fooker!”[14] Anti shouted in anger as he picked himself back up. His form glitching angrily. “Imma kill yeh fer that.”[15]

Chase held up his gun, raising an eyebrow at Anti.

“Dammit, I liked yeh[3] better when yeh[3] used ta[1] piss yer[7] pants in fear ‘a[2] me,” Anti grumbled in anger.

“One ‘a[2] the perks ‘a[2] gettin’[16] fused with a psychopath,” Chase told him, lowering his gun. “Sorry ta[1] break up the fun but if city hall catches us with Dark, they might put two an’[17] two together.

“Fook ‘em,”[18] Anti shrugged dismissively.

Dark sighed and punched the bridge of his nose, “I’m not getting anything done today.”

With that he turned back into Damien. “Oh look, I’ve been kidnapped or what have you. Let’s just get this over with.”

“Oh, am I kidnapping you?” Wilford gasped in delight, scooping Damien back up into his arms.

“Wil!” Damien warned, trying to pull away, his ringing shrill but Wil was just smiling as he walked away.

“Nope, I’m kidnapping you,” Wilford smiled and rubbed his cheek into the side of Damien’s face.

“Hey!” Chase shouted in anger as he stomped after him. “He told yeh[3] ta[1] put him the fook[12] down!

“Geez, who twisted yer fookin’ balls an’ told yeh ta cough?”[19] Anti chuckled a little bit. He was enjoying the — what seemed to Anti — out of nowhere anger even if Chase wasn’t giving him the reactions he wanted.

Chase tossed Anti a glare before racing faster after Dark and Wil. “I said, put him fookin’[20] down.”

“Oh wait your turn, you can kidnap him after me,” Wilford chuckled.

“Ex-fucking-cuse you?” Damien sputtered as Chase seemed to just go red in the face.

Anti was just watching as Jackie raced in with Marvin not far behind.

Chase kept yelling at Wilford with Dark basically rolling his eyes as Wil started trying to egg Chase on who was only becoming angrier.

Wilford did eventually set Damien down, but at that point Anti, Marvin, and Jackie were just watching the argument. The Septic heroes acting like they were watching two kids fighting over their favorite toy, while Anti just stared in absolute confusion.

“Did . . . Is . . .” Anti stalled, his head tilting a bit at different angles. “The fook[12] is goin’[21] on?”

“Take a wild fookin[20] guess,” Marvin told him.

“Three people in the runnin’[22] fer[23] the most violently oblivious award,” Jackie commented.

“That don’t answer my fookin’[20]

question,” Anti glared at them.

“I am more than a capable of defending myself,” Dark huffed, shoving Chase away from Wilford before starting to make his way out of the alleyway. Chase was hot on his heels. “I am a fully matured demon, I don’t need everyone treating me like some upstart spawnling.”

“This ain’t about treatin’ yeh like a kid,”[24] Chase snapped in return. “Yeh[3] wanted him ta[1] put yeh[3] down, he should’a[25] put yeh[3] down.”

“I was fine on my own,” Dark glared at the hero.

“Aren’t they cute?” Wil smiled, suddenly right next to Anti’s shoulder, and close enough to make Marvin jump.

Marvin and Jackie just stared at Wil in surprise but Anti only looked more confused.

“What Shitfaced McGee an’[17] yer[7] ugly ass boyfriend?” Anti scoffed. “Or are yeh talkin’[26] about someone else?”

“Wait, yeh[3] can read mind, can’t yeh[3]?” Marvin remembered.

“No, people are just very talkative when they don’t mean to be,” Wilford denied.

Sure they are, Marvin thought, raising an eyebrow.

“Glad you agree,” Wilford reached over and clapped a hand on Marvin on the shoulder.

“Don’t,” Marvin pulled his shoulder away. “I don’t fookin’[20] trust yeh[3].”

Wilford laughed at him, then turned back to look at Dark and Chase. “It’s rare to see someone getting Darkling this wound up. He needs to relax.”

“Yeh plannin’ on doin’ somethin’ about that?”[27] Marvin asked, glancing from the two villains, back to Chase and Dark just so he could keep an eye on all of them.

“Hmm,” Wilford purred, just staring at Dark and Chase, a roguish grin on his face. “Depends on if he’s dancing with someone else tonight.”

Anti opened his mouth to comment before a loud sound split the air.

BANG!

Everyone flinched, Damien reached for the side of his chest where a bullet had dug in and would have killed him if he were alive and human.

“Get back!” Chase yelled, shouldering Damien into the wall, blocking his body with his own. The marksman pulled out one of his normal guns and fired it. The muzzle of the gun inches away from Damien’s face and the assailant went down, jolted by the dart.

Damien’s boastful barb that he’d been about to say before he’d been shot, caught in his throat as he stared at Chase with an expression that Marvin had never seen on him before. He’d never seen Dark in any form make that look.

Chase was the first to realize he had the mayor — as well as Egoton’s most powerful mob boss — shoved up against a wall. Immediately going red in the face, Chase stiffly pulled away and holstered his gun.

“S-Sorry,” Chase apologized, rubbing at the back of his neck. He spent the time looking around for more assailants as Jackie and Marvin ran over.

The tense atmosphere between Dark and Chase popped when the two Septics ran over to them.

“Think date night’s o’er[28] Mister Mayor,” Jackie commented. “Yeh[3] need a doctor?”

“I’m fine,” Dark grumbled. “I can extract the round myself.”

“Yeh[3] got shot?” Chase demanded, who hadn’t even realized that Damien had been shot in the heat of the moment.

“I’m going back to the office, gentlemen,” Dark told them and opened a portal and stepped through, this time both Chase and Jackie were fast enough to step through with him.

Leaving Marvin alone with Wilford and Anti, which the magician immediately called the cops and tried to keep Anti off the unconscious man until the cops got there. By the time he got to leave he received a text from Jackie that Dark was fine and that the person who seemed to be the most put out by the Entity being shot was Chase.

Which gave Marvin something to think about. To really think about things. Because if Wilford wasn’t going to stop Chase from flirting and getting close, and Dark wasn’t going to either then . . . Marvin didn’t know how to feel about that.

Even if Chase and Dark as a relationship didn’t go anywhere the possibility was there. That Chase could run off with a demon. The same type of creature that had terrorized them in their early adulthood and ripped not only Chase’s marriage apart but Henrik’s as well. Chase could already be a demon.

The whole city was so full of demons that Marvin doubted he himself was even fully human anymore. Because what type of person burns a town down with innocences inside?

Not a human, that’s what, Marvin thought. He needed time to unpack his thoughts, he needed to go home and—

Marvin’s phone blew up with three different city alerts. Crime, a burglary, and then there was another attack on city hall.

He sighed, he didn’t think he was going to get that time today.

By the time he’d dragged himself into the base, Damien had “gone home” so Jackie and Chase were free to go. But Marvin had done some thinking but not enough.

He made it to his library — one he still had yet to completely rebuild after it had been burned — before he made his mind up.

So Marvin called a meeting and announced that he was temporarily turning in his communicator and heading back to his mother’s to think. And mostly to put distance between himself and everything that had been happening.

It was a surprise to almost everyone. And Ghostbur offered to come with Marvin, who turned him down. Marvin wanted to put superheroics behind him, not take it with him.

After the impromptu meeting, Marvin went to his library to pack some essential books. Which mostly meant throwing them into a magical bag.

Jackie and Chase came to see him.

“Yeh sure yeh don’t need one ‘a us ta come with?”[29] Jackie offered.

“I think I need ta[1] clear my head a little,” Marvin told him. “Can’t do that here.”

“An’[17] do what?” Chase asked.

“Don’t know,” Marvin admitted. “Kerry’s far enough fer[23] me not ta[1] throw myself inta[30] trouble, right?”

“Maybe, but call us if yeh[3] need us an’[17] yeh[3] know we’d come runnin’[22],” Jackie promised.

“I will,” Marvin smiled. “Oh, an’[17] Chase?”

“Hm, yeah?” Chase was leaning against the door, just watching them with his hands buried deep into his pockets.

Marvin smiled, “Best ‘a[2] luck with Dark, grow some balls why don’tcha[31] an’[17] he might be inta[30] yeh[3].”

“Ha ha,” Chase shot back, tone a bit sour but with a good-humored tone to it. “Yeh[3] need a ride ta[1] Althone?”

“Nah, I’ll take the bus, wanna[32] make this trip last,” Marvin said. “Sides, gotta lose the mask before I hit Althone, tryin’ ta clear my head, not take the job with me.”[33]

“Still comin’ with yeh ta the station,”[34] Chase dismissed. “Town’s gotten a bit dangerous an’[17] I wanna make sure yeh[3] get there safely.”

Marvin rolled his eyes, but he let Jackie and Chase accompany him down to the closest train station. All three of them in their civilian outfit and about fifteen minutes from his second train from Althone to Kerry, he was startled by Ghostbur. The ghostly demon not wanting to be alone and using the excuse that he could quickly get back to Tommy if he needed to. After an argument, Marvin decided to let Ghostbur tag alone. He was only planning on going to Kerry. It would be easy to send Ghostbur back if he got into trouble.

At least Kerry was quieter and safer than the city full of demons and supervillains.

As the train finally left the conjoined city, the Host watched Marvin leave, unseen, as dominos were set in place, and others taken away, to make the picture that the seer wanted.

The seer cut the controlling strings he’d had over the various small gangs he’d had targeting Dark. With Chase on the trajectory the Host wanted, and Marvin conveniently leaving town his use for them was over. they’d return to their petty squabbles and city hall would rest.

A king castled, a bishop on the warpath. A chess match to be won.

The Actor was back in Egoton and the Host had to be prepared for him.

Feather AU

Dabihawks, canon divergence, spoilers for manga chapters through 272 (but no further bc the rest of the arc isn’t going to be important, if it even happens in this), angst/fluff/maybe implied smoot

Hawks gets his wings burned off by Dabi (chapter 272)

He’s rushed to the hospital in hopes that his wings can be saved. at this point, hawks is basically in and out of consciousness, if not passed out completely from pain

He wakes up eventually in the hospital. The room is empty, no gifts or flowers or cards, no people either, only the steady beeping on the heart monitor

There’s a single card, signed by the president of the hero commission. It says something about “you did well. Most of the League escaped (Dabi included it doesn’t say that in the letter I’m just telling you so you as the reader knows sjdbdid), but you completed your mission.” Not even get well soon or anything.

The doctor comes in and tells him good news and bad. Good: Hawks will survive just fine, he’ll have a long healthy life, all that. Bad: it’s incredibly unlikely that his wings will ever grow back and he’s been rendered basically quirkless. The doctor says something about how he could probably still control his feathers, but those all kinda burned up so that’s useless anyway.

the media told everyone Hawks had died in the hospital, killed by Dabi (a coverup by the hero commission)

He checks out and goes home after a few days and one of the first things he does is carefully take off the bandages to see the almost-done-healing scars. Big angsty cry

He gets a call from his handler. He’s been relieved from heroing. HAh more pain

He ends up just kinda existing, he doesn’t get a job (the commission still pays him some until he can get a new job and he still has a ton of money saved from being a hero). He just floats by day to day. He’s started going by Takami again and he wanders the city most days.

He finds himself realizing that everytime he wanders, he ends up in a familiar place, the warehouse downtown, the roof of an abandoned apartment complex, the back alley of some shitty club. He’s been to each of these places before and there was something in common with each: they’d been where he and Dabi had hung out together

There’s a strange tugging in his chest and seeing as he has nothing better to do, he packs a bag and follows the tug.

It takes him across a few different cities, the tug getting stronger sometimes.

As he travels, he has a lot of time to think, and he ends up thinking about Dabi and everything that happened (during the travelling part, imma throw in a bunch of flashbacks to when he and Dabi had been together). He kinda doesn’t blame Dabi for trying to kill him, he betrayed them all, even after telling Dabi he loved him so many times. Poor guy was probably heart broken, also y’know hawks murdered Dabis friends so liek

The tug starts getting gradually stronger and Hawks realizes it’s a feather. It had somehow survived and someone must have it. He stops at a shitty hotel at some point and he can almost feel the feather, it feels as though someone is playing with it, the ghost feeling of fingers stroking it.

Hawks has a dream that night: it’s a memory of Dabi. It was the night they showed each other who they really were, not Dabi and Hawks, but Keigo and Touya. It had been then that Hawks realized that he did actually love Dabi and the start of the inner struggle of his love vs. His mission. He’d given Dabi a feather that night. “Just in case” he’d whispered against Dabi’s lips

Hawks wakes up suddenly, the tugging of the feather suddenly so much stronger, as if it were much closer. Vaguely, he thinks he hears someone talk to the feather. Something about “I’m sorry. I don’t think I can forgive you, but I miss you” and suddenly, Hawks realizes that the feather he’s been chasing is the one he gave Dabi, the one he just dreamed about

He manages to go back to sleep with thoughts of Dabi. He wakes up that morning and almost turns around bc *dabi* is the one with the feather, maybe he should just turn around and let go

He keeps following it anyway, this time with thoughts filled with all the ways he’d kill the fucker for burning his wings and destroying his life

He finds Dabi on a roof, much like the ones they’d frequent together before. Hawks’ voice cracks when he calls out to Dabi, who hasn’t noticed him yet “Touya”

Dabis tiffens and turns suddenly, feather clutched tightly. All of the murderous intention was suddenly gone and Hawks was honestly so relieved to see Dabi, and Dabi seemed relieved to see hawks too.

Dabi thought he was dead, just like everyone else had been told

Just found out Grandma has cancer and she's moving in with the hospital bed package I helped put together today at the house.

The lady says she weighs less than 100 pounds and needs an oxygen tank.

This don't even feel real.

I'm helping the lady setup the bed, lifting stuff, and cleaning out the bunch of clothes and junk that nobody uses and it really didn't kick in...

It still hasn't.

My heart Andy hand was shaking as I had to sign the delivery note.

Not even a "Good luck with your Grandma" or "Condolences to you and your family" I told the delivery lady she had cancer and we're talking about it like its a happy topic on the news. She had music to keep her going as she picked up stuff off the truck. I wanted to tell her come back, wait...like are you sure you got the right house?

Like are you sure mom and dad or grandma isn't playing. Cause I haven't seen her in like a month. My clothes and stuff is still at her house in Grand Rapids.

And I don't wanna run into any arms. Like I don't wanna hear nothing but silence for the next 3 or 4hrs.

I'm trembling, shaking, paranoid.

I almost had a panic attack after that lady left. Well let's be real, I did.

But the fact that everybody else in this family is acting like this shit is normal and everybody wants me to behave....I can't say or do shit about it.

Like my room is connected to her room. Imma have to get used to walking past her bed just to use the bathroom. And eat?

I don't even know if I will, cause here's the thing....mom and dad are most likely gonna put me on duty. And last time when I spent a week with her, taking care of her...I was so stressed out, that I didn't even eat.

And cancer did pop in my head as a worst case scenario, because we had no clue what she had and she seemed ok when I got kicked out in March.

She avoided doctors and the hospital for years after her surgeries. I just....

I don't even know if I wanna know what stage she is at. Cause last time I stayed, when we had that argument, she wasn't eating too good, cheeks sunken in, I knew something was wrong. Even her house, her dishes were all piled up with black mould on em from being in the sink of dirty water too long. It felt like we stepped into a resident evil house from that one in the country. Even momma said that's not like her, because old ocd Clara, does not play about cleaning dishes. Soups did her no good and she was only getting down like 2-4 pieces of watermelon that daddy had brought. And her house in the summer is hot as heck, so I'm glad daddy had bought her that air purifying fan. She just did not go to the hospital. She said no for the longest when we offered to take her.

I'm glad she finally said yes.

But I don't know how far along she is. Everything has changed so much in less than a year.

I don't even know if I'll be the same after this. And I got a giant ear and toothache that keeps creeping in when I get too stressed like this.

I pray I stay away from drinking. Cause my hallucinations get worse after drinking...I really need to see a psychiatrist about that.

I just hope mom and dad don't start fussing again at home, it's already tight, mom is still going through alzheimers grief with our other grandma. Like she forgot her name already once. And these two strong black women that I grew up on are near 70. Clara, with cancer 67.

I don't even know what my father feels about this and that's what scares me the most. Cause he's mostly been the type to say he's okay, doing fine or alright if I ask him how he feels, buy he doesn't ever really change unless something super pisses him off...like cars parking too close when there's empty spots, drivers doing wide turns, people walking 8 ppl wide on the sidewalk at an amusement park or public event.

Or if he gets into with momma, but they haven't fought as much since I left in March...

But idk. With those two both on edge, the only time they can talk about emotions in a calm way is when they drink or go out to the bar, eat some wings, and get some drafts going while watching the game.

But that was younger dad, and this is now. Now...I assume he's gonna do a lot more golfing...

Idk how they're gonna manage us helping out.

But I pray I find my own job and apt soon. I wouldn't wanna live in chaos. Nor do I wanna fight about it either with my family, that have been known to push duties on me without really helping or noticing the people pleasing problem I learned from serving them all these years. I've never been allowed to say no to my mother and father. They always get upset with me when I do.

I don't wanna go through this alone, but as God showed me the ppl who really were a bad influence on my life, I don't have many friends to rely on to support me and pour my heart out too. After being hurt even when I dealt with the aftermath of that fight with mom, I found myself alone much more often than I thought. Missing the wrong ppl.

I'm not making that same mistake again. I'm not gonna make that silly mistake and call a guy only for him to take advantage of me sexually. I'm not having sex or making out with anybody unless we're committed to each other and he's already proven he's with me for love and not just sex.

Cause there are nice guys who try to outsmart women who would rather have sex after commitment, only to play them after giving the gf title.

How the fuck did I get to this topic, and I just found out Grandma Clara has cancer and we don't know how long for or what stage she's at?

See how far my mind overthinks in critical situations like this?

Now I'm off to watching Kenny Rogers cause I'm feeling a country craving right after I just cried my tears and helped clean her room, assembled her bed..

Ppl don't usually prepare for having a family member you didn't expect to take care of for cancer, it sorta feels low, because I don't know what to expect when she comes tomorrow...I don't know exactly what's gonna happen, but I pray I get a job close by so I can at least have a place to stay away from my already crazy home, and get moving on goals and dreams.

But I know why I feel so obligated to leave and to stay for grandma in flint...because I don't know what's going to happen to her or to me. And she's been apart of me for such a long time. She used to be the only person who understood me when I would get to sensitive or have depression, separation anxiety, seeing or feeling dead people, reading dreams intuitively together. Me and her was like the grandpa off of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka story. She was the older version of me, and nobody understood me like her. Everybody else in my family would make fun of me for being like her. Whenever mom thought I did something that reminded her of Clara, she'd called me by her first name "Clara." Cause she raised me awhile when dad and sometimes mom went to work. Daddy at football games in college, but I think he had to drop out after me....I kinda thought back and thought I was a burden as the reason why they always seemed to overwork me so young as the oldest. Put a smile on your face and go to your room to cry. Kinda like cinderella. Well grandma Clara said it....she always worried about that when she visited.

Her personality was similar to how Ms. Lisa was on Sister Sister. Ms. Talkative, except her favorite color was purple 💜 and she always had an ego, and intuitive perspective on alot of things. She could see things as if she knew what was gonna happen next, like predicting a chess move. Very determined, independent, she hates being wrong, and she'll bark her mouth off if you tried to debate with her. She liked dressing up and going out. But when she's frugal, she'll cook something at the house. Oh, and she loved sweets. And she loved to talk.

I mean lots. I would say our usual was 2hrs, but that was so long ago. I definitely feel the change settling in. Only time will tell.

“Perimeter secured. Firebird’s room flanked by Rollans and McCrae, while Wilson and Qiao already positioned in the crowd. Rodriguez and Byrne across the street at 900 m, on the seventh and twenty fourth floor balconies respectively.”

“Thanks, Lee.” The all clear from the other Secret Service agent helps Brooke’s heart to unknot itself a little, knowing that the pre-G20 summit event is secure, that Vanessa is protected on multiple levels. She leans against the wall in the tiny meeting room, watches as her wife practices her speech with A’keria. Or at least, is trying to, judging by the way that A’keria’s head is in her hands.

Brooke may be Vanessa’s immediate detail, but having an entire team is useful in countering the ever-present anxiety that pulses through her veins, around her own safety, Vanessa’s safety, their well being. Sure, the days of sniper rifles and late night hits are long gone from Brooke’s life, but their safety has only become more prolific.

As expected, when Brooke’s wife is none other than the President of the United States.

“Lemme try again. I got it this time, Kiki.” Vanessa’s holding up her cue cards, pacing back and forth. Brooke has to resist a smile at the way Vanessa’s perfectly styled hair and pantsuit contrast with the slight frown on her face as she squints at the cards.

“Vanj, I swear to god. Imma have to hire you a proper speechwriter eventually, ‘cause you’re the sole cause of these wrinkles on my face.” A’keria’s feet are propped up on the chair beside her as she lets out a sigh, and Brooke’s glad that it’s just the three of them in the room, reporters and summit participants from other nations gathering in the larger conference hall, where Vanessa will be giving part of the opening remarks.

“Why do you gotta put all of these difficult words in here, anyway? My brain has forgotten all of this shit from college.” Vanessa sighs as she flops into a seat on A’keria’s other side, spinning around so that she’s facing Brooke. She pouts, and Brooke can’t help but blow her a small kiss.

“You can do it, baby. I believe in you.” Vanessa smiles at Brooke’s words despite her slumped shoulders, blowing a kiss back at her. “You’ll dazzle them like you do every single time.”

“You have to say that. We’re married.” Vanessa says the words with a sliver of marvel in her voice, as if it hasn’t been four years of marriage for the two of them already, as if they’re not well into Vanessa’s second term as president.

Brooke gets it. It still amazes her too, sometimes, the way her rings glint on her finger, sparkling in the light whenever she lifts a hand up to her earpiece while she’s on the job. That the woman she’s in charge of protecting, of keeping safe is her wife. All these years later, they’re still doing this. Surviving. Thriving.

“Doesn’t make it any less true.” Brooke walks over to Vanessa and presses a light kiss to her lips, lifts her thumb to wipe the faint transfer of her lipstick that contrasts with the one that Vanessa’s already wearing.

“Save that for later.” A’keria waves a hand in their faces, making both of them crack up. “You gotta learn to pronounce words like ‘ratification’ first.”

“I don’t give a rat’s ass, Kiki.” Vanessa drops her cue cards on the table as A’keria sighs in the same tone commonly used by an elementary school teacher.

“Yes you do. Now, we got fifteen minutes until you’re up in front of all of those cameras and other world leaders. You want them to think you’re a fool?”

Vanessa shrugs. “I’ve met most of them, how many times? Too many times. Except the new President of Mexico, he was just elected last month. I’ll be fine.”

Brooke watches with an amused smile as Vanessa pats A’keria’s shoulder as she drops her head onto the table. “There, there. From the top?”

“Firebird in position. Rollans, take the east aisle. Qiao, the west. McCrae, I want you in the media box.” Brooke mutters softly into her earpiece as clapping erupts when Vanessa steps on stage, takes her place at the podium. Her mind’s running at a million miles an hour, mapping out routes along the convention hall, looking for points of vulnerability, anything that can put Vanessa at risk.

“Roger that.” The voice of a fellow agent reverberates in her ear, followed by the other members of the team in turn. Secure. As they should be.

Brooke lets her mind pause its process for a second when Vanessa begins to speak, the pin on her lapel sparkling under the flashing lights of the cameras around her. She doesn’t spare a glance at her cue cards, letting the words roll off of her tongue almost effortlessly. Brooke would be impressed if this wasn’t Vanessa’s norm, pulling herself together at the last minute, but perfectly so. The rapt attention of the other attendants at the summit, following Vanessa’s every move like they’re being pulled in by a magnet as she steps away from the podium, is electrifying to watch.

Vanessa’s good. So, so good at what she does, and it hits Brooke every day how lucky she is to witness it.

“…look forward to productive conversations with my international counterparts over the next few days, specifically on the risk mitigation of…”

Brooke tunes out Vanessa’s speech, having heard it at least twenty times before she had stepped on stage. She lets her eyes roam around the crowd, noticing the way that the Argentinian president seems to be doodling on a napkin on his table, his Finance Minister furiously elbowing his side.

Sometimes, the international meetings truly make Brooke feel like she’s in high school again. Still a fly on the wall, watching the chaos unfold in front of her.

“Hytes? You spot the server in the second aisle? He looking a bit suspicious to you?”

Brooke cranes her neck to look at the far aisle, sees the man that her fellow agent is talking about. Narrows her eyes at the ill fit of the server’s uniform, the way his eyes are darting around the conference hall.

“Get him d-”

Brooke doesn’t get to finish her sentence when the man lets off a smoke bomb, because she’s taking one, two steps up to the podium to reach Vanessa, a protective arm around her as she pulls through the back doors behind the stage.

“Shit.” Brooke’s arms around Vanessa tighten when state sanctioned police swarm past them into the conference hall, nearly knocking them over. She recovers quickly, though, tugging Vanessa back into the meeting room where she had practiced her speech with A’keria, locking the door behind them.

“Hey. You okay?” Brooke can’t help the way that her eyes flit over Vanessa’s face, looking for any sign of harm, of damage. Her hands brush Vanessa’s hair out of her face, pat down her shoulders and arms as if the motion is going to help her find any hidden injury.

Vanessa lets out a shaky breath, one that is nearly drowned out by the sounds of chaos on the other side of the wall. “I’m okay. Wait.” Vanessa’s brow furrows, her hand reaching up to brush against Brooke’s forehead. “Why are you bleeding?”

“What?” Brooke’s wondering if Vanessa herself has hit her head until Vanessa pulls her fingers back, sees the way that they’re dripping in blood. “Oh.”

Huh. She’s confused by the sight, not being in any pain. She’s not quite sure when it had happened, either. Maybe the way her head accidentally hit the podium as she reached Vanessa? Or maybe when the police had knocked against her?

Still, doesn’t matter since it’s not hurting her. And because Vanessa’s safe in front of her, uninjured and in one piece.

Things are okay.

“Shit, baby.” Vanessa’s tone differs from Brooke’s appraisal of the situation as she grabs the tissue box from the middle of the conference table, folds it up and presses it to Brooke’s head biting her lip all the while. “I’m no doctor.”

“It’s fine, V. Head lacerations tend to bleed. Probably just a surface scratch.” Brooke’s had her fair share of cuts and bruises throughout her life, and remains unfazed, reaching for her earpiece to quell the incessant requests for updates from her fellow agents.

“Firebird is safe with me.” The sighs of relief over the comm system as soon as the words leave Brooke’s lips are comically in sync. “Updates?”

Another agent starts talking about the takedown of the man, about how he had attempted to pull out a weapon before being brought down, but the words are becoming a little softer, a little bit more muffled. Brooke watches as Vanessa grabs another tissue, pressing it to her forehead after pulling the other one back, and is she really bleeding that much? Huh.

Come to think of it, Vanessa’s getting a bit blurry in front of her, too.

“Brooke Lynn Hytes, if you faint on me in this meeting room while there’s an actual stampede happening outside these doors, I swear to god-”

“Don’t be embarrassed, B.” Vanessa’s giggle only makes Brooke groan, lifting a hand to cover her face underneath the fluorescent lighting overhead. The bandage on the side of her forehead feels overbearing, squeezing her temple just a bit too tight.

“I really fainted? Fully fainted?” A nightmare. A true nightmare, one that Brooke thinks Vanessa is finding a little bit too funny as she sits on a chair beside her ER bed.

“Why else would we bring your dramatic ass here? The on site medic was worried about blood loss. Wanted you to get checked out, with some stitches. Silk got them to shut down half of the ER in the process, while tryna get me here with you on the down low and all.”

“Ugh.” Brooke wants to disappear. The last thing that she should be doing at her job is drawing attention to herself. She’s supposed to be protecting Vanessa, but instead has created an entire debacle for the both of them.

Vanessa squeezes her hand. “It’s not like we’re missing anything at the summit. Ended for the day after all that chaos. Resuming tomorrow.”

“Good.” Brooke lets out a breath. The last thing she wants to do is pull Vanessa away from her job.

“‘Sides, everyone’s worried about you. Wanted to make sure you were okay.” Brooke groans louder at Vanessa’s statement. She doesn’t like drawing the focus. Even if their delegation is worried, she knows that her security team is going to make fun of her like there’s no tomorrow once they head back. She’s not ready for the roasts about her penchant for injuring herself in hilariously dramatic ways.

“Mrs. Hytes-Mateo?” Vanessa and Brooke both look up at the doctor who’s poked his head into the room, past the security detail stationed outside the door.

“This is she.” Brooke’s statement is ignored as the doctor does a double take at Vanessa, who diplomatically stands up to shake his hand.

“H-hello, Madame President, I was wondering why there was so much security in my ER, it’s beginning to make sense now-”

Vanessa cuts off the man’s rambling. “Is my wife going to be okay?”

“What-oh. Yes, a couple of stitches and she’ll be good as new. Now, concerning the pregnancy, as it is quite early on there should be no lasting issues-”

Huh?

Brooke can feel her own mouth drop open as Vanessa holds up a hand to pause the doctor. “Pregnancy?”

“Yes, as you probably know-”

Pregnancy.

She’s pregnant.

Actually pregnant.

Sure, they had an appointment scheduled for after the summit to follow up after the embryo transfers, but after so many failed attempts, Brooke hasn’t had her hopes up that this time would be successful, and has tried to prepare herself for the worst-

Pregnant.

The word echoes around her brain, replaying over and over and over again, and she can’t have imagined the words coming out of the doctor’s mouth because Vanessa’s face is equally flabbergasted, equally in shock as she grips the armrests of her chair.

“What’d you say, Doc?” Vanessa’s voice comes out in a squeak.  

Brooke looks up at the doctor, her eyes wide as the blood rushes through her veins because the words haven’t quite sunk in yet (she’s pregnant, she’s pregnant ), and he takes a step back.

“Oh? I’m sorry, I thought you were already aware…” He trails off, and Brooke thinks it’s just as well, because she can’t focus on any coherent conversation right now because she’s pregnant.

But then suddenly there’s a weight on her chest and it’s Vanessa, hugging her midsection before she lifts her teary face up towards hers to kiss her. Vanessa’s eyes are alight when she pulls back, a grin on her face so bright that it’s damn near about to knock Brooke over.

“Oh my god.” The words leave Brooke in a gasp, because it’s surreal, it’s not happening, not after so many disappointments and so much trying and they were going to give up after this one last attempt, but now they don’t have to, because-

“We’re having a baby.” Vanessa chokes out a sob, sniffles and Brooke pulls her closer, shaky hands on either side of her face and kisses the tears on her cheeks. She’s dreamed about this, they’ve dreamed about this for so long, this moment, this one moment that’s turned out to be a bit different from what Brooke had imagined it as but she doesn’t care, because it’s real. It’s happening.

Vanessa spins suddenly to face the doctor, holds up an accusatory finger that nearly makes him take a step backwards. “Are you sure? How do you know?”

“W-well, we’d done a blood test earlier to test her iron levels to see if that had a factor in her collapsing, and a certain hormone was elevated in her blood, one that is indicative of pregnancy-”

Brooke doesn’t even hear the rest of the doctor’s explanation because Vanessa’s kissing her again, resting a light hand on her stomach and holy fuck , she’s growing a baby and they’re having a baby, and-

Vanessa pulls back, grabs both of Brooke’s hands, squeezing them. The touch grounds her, bringing her attention back to the room, the ER room that feels almost ridiculous to be sitting in, because who cares about a small scrape on her forehead when they’re going to have a baby?

“Your First Lady is knocked up.” Brooke lets out a little giggle with the words, one that Vanessa mirrors because it feels surreal. Everything is surreal, and for a second Brooke forgets that Vanessa’s in charge of one of the most powerful nations on the planet, that her being in her second presidential term is going to make this process all the more public, put even more of a spotlight on them.

It doesn’t matter.

They’re going to be parents.

And I should be studying, but here are some thoughts for season 16 so far:

(SPOILER WARNING, OBVIOUSLY)

1 - Merluca and it’s parts: COUPLES FIGHT STOP PREDICTING THE WORST OK. They’ve been completely adorable so far, but this is what someone said in a interview: “This is the after in happy ever after” (or something to that effect). They’re gonna fight and them they’re gonna make up, I hope. As for their fight: They were both in the right imo. Yes, Meredith is being inconsequent and it must be so frustrating for Deluca to A)Have her continue risking her career and license and freedom when he went to such lengths to help that, B) Be crapped on constantly bc of something your girlfriend did. Yes, Meredith is completely right in fighting the system that is so throughtly broken, and yes, coming to apologize to her mentor and longtime friend was completely the right thing to do. I wanna see merluca wedding and marriage! Maybe (since there are two pregnant people in this season already?) next season will be Mer and Jo? One can dream! For them individually: Poor Mer, she has bitten more than she can chew but she is ready to take on this fight! Imma love to see her as auntie mer! I mis merjolex so much tho, I know she’s been busy and all but they seem to forget she is a important part in their support system. Andrew has been all over the place. I love his confidence, but in the ep where he literally screamed at Bailey over her trying to teach an intern? And called her out bc she was using a different material than Mer? I was a bit off-thrown. But he’s still a great character I enjoy watching. Hope they find the balance between confidence and arrogance for him, and develop him even more!

2 - Amelink: AAAAAA. They’re so amazing and perfect and sweet and I wanna hug them both. Link is everything you could wish for, Amy is adorable as ever. If they lay a finger on either them as a couple, them as individuals, or their baby, imma kick some asses. I don’t think they will tho, Amy is been through SO MUCH already and she deserves a breath.

3 - Bailey: OMG SHE IS PREGNANT AAAAAAAA. I’m so happy! Ben is already a great dad, this will be so fun to watch! Hope they don’t put her through the ringer with a difficult pregnancy or a sick child, she does not deserve this! She already nearly lost her first child while giving birth in a bomb-y hospital while her husband had brain surgery NEXT to the bomb. Enough pregnancy drama for a lifetime. As for her actions: I’ve said before: I’m pissed, yes. She’s acting way too harsh and taking it out on people and more importantly (as I’ve touched on in my female grey’s characters ranking post) she’s out of character. Where is the Bailey that went around the hospital runnning after the attendings and kicking their asses into signing her proposal for a free clinic? And gave them a speech on how they had failed her and she needed something to believe in in medicine? She was one of the first characters to point out how broken the system was, to take direct action to try and fix it. Sure, she likes to try and work within the rules as much as possible, much she is not adverse to breaking a few of them if she thinks it’s necessary (hello deactivated HIV inside a young boy’s body without parental consent! Hello changing the date on a surgery which is also insurance fraud!)! If she thinks it’ll save a life! But also, she’s not completely wrong: Meredith did commit a crime, as good as her intentions were; As her boss, firing her was the only logical decision. She thought her hospital (which she dedicated a good half of her life to) was being attacked by someone she trained into the surgeon she is, ofc she’d be mad as all hell. Quadri was disrespectful, not doing her job well, actively getting in the way of her superior doing her job, screaming at her boss in the middle of the hallway about how she didn’t want to work there - firing her was a tad extreme (specially for a charact who has never, herself, had any qualms ahout mouthing off to her own superiors when she didn’t think something was right) but not completely out of nowhere. I hate hate hate how they’ll probs throw a “oh she was being crazy bc pregnancy hormones!” line after seeing how her actions have been badly perceived by people (like there isn’t enough a stereotype that women can’t have positions of power because hormones make them crazy) instead of “hey this character was put in extremely uncomfortable and tough positiona after extremely uncomfortable and tough positions and came off as harsher than necessary while trying to balance a world-class hospital crisis”. Ugh.

4 - Jackson: Ok so the last few eps have rekindled my love for him and I’m relieved! There’s the good, kind, funny and smart guy I like! I was mad bc of the whole Jaggie drama, but hey, shit happens! If they will be better apart, then I’m happy! (Ok 50% of this is because of what he said to levi! Stanning Meredith Grey + dorky Harry Potter reference? Yes!!!!). I hope this season will be kind on him, that he and Vicky work out well (from what I gathered about it, she has also been through a lot) and that we see more Harriet!

5 - Maggie: Baby girl. I love that they’re consistent that she has a jealous streak but is also a very good person who is always trying her best. Plus, official womb secret bearer is the best title omg! Maybe she should change from cardio to obgyn, lol! Plus, the sisters are everything to me! She instantaneous knew Amy was mad! She stood up for Mer! Aaaaa I love them!!!! Hope this show ends with all three of them happy and loved and badass as always!

6 - Others: Tom has been an.... Interesting piece. I love him, but his antics are almost caricature-esque now and it’s getting on my nerves. He was detestable in exploitating that family’s pain but also, the hospital did need a pr boost or it’d be in even hotter waters! The restraining order on Owen was a tad much bc it got in the way of patient care, but also he did get electrocuted in a very sensitive area by someone who had just gotten together with his ex - I’d be a little suspicious that it was 100% unintentional tbh. He’s power drunk and needs to be turned down a notch. Schmit and Nico and adorkable as always and I loved Nico’s speech about demanding more of himself - That’s one of the biggest traps of low self-steem and Imm glad it’s mentioned. I’ll miss Quadri. Helm being a MeredithGrey stan first and person second is still me lol. I loved how this last ep showed how much of a family they are - all the connections and shared pasts and references to relationships and what not. The “bird” storyline was so cute! Pac North seems so promissing and I’ll cry ugly tears when my baby Alex turns that ish around and shows everyone who’s boss!!!! The whole ���the world is broken” theme of the season is my jam! Sadly, irl that handful of people are not gonna turn it around, but I want to see it happen on my screen! The medical system being fixed! As a future doctor (I promissed myself I’d not be the person who brings it up in every opportunity but lol here I am) it’d make me so happy! Against my better judgment, I’m liking Towen! They are trying, they’re really trying! Owen has done nothing wrong so far (besides offering to milk teddy which was just dumb, not malicious) and has been great at stepping down from his job so she could work! And him at Pac North will be great tbh - as much as I didlike him, he is an excellent doctor and strategist and he was a great chief at GS (until the last bit which was just gross negligence). From the promo for next ep: I don’t think they’ll make Webber cheat again. It’d be predictable and cheap and I’d be so mad that we’d have another round of acting like he’s a saint with a tiny issue of being a cheater. What I theorize is: He’ll have lunch with his friend, and either A) She’ll be friendly at the wrong time and Catherine will walk in and then think he’s cheating and it’ll be a mess, or B) Gemma is gonna try to get him back to drinking (Or maybe C) She was telling him to stop being bullheaded and fighting with his wife when life is so short). Cristina reference in the text omg, my heart!

Gotham 05x11 “They Did What?”

The penultimate episode of Gotham! And it has a weird title! I’m gonna miss this show, guys.

Also, side note, this is the second time I’m writing this post because I just finished typing all my thoughts and my freakin’ internet freaked out and closed my browser window and deleted everything I wrote. 🙃

SECOND SIDE NOTE: I wrote this last week but was at a work training all week and forgot to post. So I haven't seen the final episode yet either. 🙃

Anyway...spoilers below!

It feels like it’s been 84 years *cue that Titanic GIF* since the last episode

Just a note before we begin: this episode, like the last, feels like it has some weird pacing problems and makes me wonder, again, how this season would’ve panned out if they had been given the normal number of episodes. There were a lot of things that felt like they just happened so quickly/easily/conveniently, for no other reason than the time constraint. Jim and Barbara took Nyssa down pretty easily, Bruce and Selina defeated Bane pretty quickly, Bane and his groupies gave up pretty easily at the end, etc. I just wonder how some of the plot would’ve been handled if the show had gotten the chance to sloooooow down this season.

I thought for sure at the end of that last episode that Alfred was going to die (even though I also knew he would be fine?) so I’m glad he’s okay, just a little worse for wear.

It looks like someone taught David how to say “Ra’s” correctly in between last episode and this one because he finally said it right!

There’s just something about Nyssa/her actress that I don’t enjoy and that makes me glad that she’s only in a few episodes. Is it her voice? Her line delivery? Her (lack of) acting skills? Her giant lips? I’m not sure. 

Barbara looks great for being just a few hours postpartum. Like you know that if this wasn’t Gotham, she’d still be lying down in a hospital bed but instead she’s looking fierce in her coat and stilettos like she didn’t just push a baby out of her lady parts. 

Also the baby is suffering from the syndrome that many TV/movie babies suffer from, where they’re played by a baby that is several months old and we’re supposed to pretend that this GIANT baby was just born.

Everyone in the GCPD and the army must be terrible shots...? They’re fighting in such a small, uncovered space and literally no one is getting hit by anything. 

Except Oswald. But he’s gotta get that monocle somehow!

One of my favorite funny moments was Oswald asking Ed how his eye looked and Ed trying to tell him it wasn’t that bad and choking in the middle of his sentence.

Barbara snapping that guy’s neck with her leg is making me question my sexuality.

This is the Jim Gordon that I like. The one who is kind and who makes good decisions and who isn’t like “imma take the baby and raise it with Lee and Barbara is going to jail” and who doesn’t drop Barbara like a hot potato the second Lee shows up.

The Jim/Babs scenes in this episode are so soft and lovely and friendly. I love seeing them team up. It almost makes me able to forget and forgive the travesty that was “The Trial of Jim Gordon” that was so all over the place that it seemed like it was written by someone who had never seen the show. But OH WAIT it was written by the lead actor.

Also this episode has made me change my mind and I’m back to my initial opinion that Jim, Barbara, and baby make a cute little family and Lee needs to gtfo.

Speaking of Lee, I’ve liked her more in these last few episodes than I’ve ever liked her before, but I still don’t like her. I just feel like...what is she here for? She’s this weird cardboard character that is always in the scenes, but what does she really add? All the sudden she’s concerned about the Narrows? Even though she’s abandoned them this whole season. And then she heads to the GCPD to “help” but all we see is her bossing other people around. LEE, YOU ARE THE DOCTOR, DO IT YOURSELF. And then she abandons the Narrows people and leaves Barbara to take care of them and goes outside to die with Jim? It’s like they don’t know that to do with her and haven’t known for a long time but she’s banging Ben McKenzie so they can’t make her go away.

Barbara was able to just find a baby sling somewhere in the GCPD for her giant newborn.

Okay, so. While I am thrilled that it seems like Barbara is going to get to be a mom and isn’t going to have the baby taken away from her, the strange throuple of Jim/Lee/Barbara is one of the parts of this season that I feel is being wrapped up a little too neatly. It wasn’t that long ago that we had to sit through that lovely episode where everyone was like “oh yes, Lee, YOUR baby” and Barbara was going to run away and Oswald was telling her that Jim would never see her as anything other than a dangerous criminal trying to keep his child away from him. And now, a mere TWO episodes later, Lee and Barbara are hugging. And Barbara seems to have changed her mind about not wanting Jim to have anything to do with the baby. And Lee and Jim seem to have changed their “Barbara is a dangerous psychopath” opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy to see a story in which Barbara gets to keep her baby and I loved the scenes between Jim and Barbara, but this is definitely one of the parts of this season that I feel could’ve benefited from more episodes at a slower pace. I’ve been saying for awhile that the writers seem unable to write Barbara consistently and her story line and her relationship with Jim once she found out she was pregnant has been up and down like a roller coaster. I’ll be re-watching Gotham from the beginning once this last season gets put on Netflix so I’ll be interested to watch all the episodes at once and see if the inconsistency is as bad as I remember.

I think part of the problem is that the way that everyone was treating Barbara and talking about the baby in “The Trial of Jim Gordon” is throwing off my general picture of the season. That episode seemed so off base and out of wack. I think I can believe that the current Jim/Lee/Babs relationship is a little more possible if I ignore that episode. 

 I’ll be interested to see the throuple in the last episode, since the preview made it look like they’re all still chillin’ together. I’d like some scenes of them all awkwardly co-parenting little baby Babs.

That must’ve been one moving (and quick!) speech that Barbara gave the Narrows people to have them all come outside and stand with the GCPD. And also it seemed a little too easy, like, NOW the army is having second thoughts about killing civilians? NOW they realize they can overtake Bane & Company? This is one of those plot points that I feel was wrapped up way too easily after all the build up.

That line where Jim asks Lee if her disobeying him is going to be a regular thing is very CRINGE. Ew. Like I don’t even like Lee but I was still like “ew Jim you don’t own her”

The weird little cuddle Selina tries to give Bruce while they’re sitting on the stairs at the GCPD was strange.

So Ed wasn’t able to pilot the submarine by himself but are we supposed to believe that Nyssa could and escaped with Edward the Dog? 

Barbara Lee Gordon! Maybe not a big fan of that middle name, but...also I like how Barbara told Jim that she named the baby “Barbara” and Jim’s first reaction was “...oh” before she told him the rest of the name. 😂

Also I’m really glad that Gotham went the “Barbara is just That Bitch that names her baby after herself” route instead of the “Barbara dies in some dumb way and Lee and Jim name the baby after her to honor her after her death” route; I was afraid for pretty much this entire season that all of Barbara’s crazy story lines would just end in her dying in some martyr-like ending that I breathed a deep sigh of relief to see that she’ll make it to the end.

Commissioner Gordon! That seems like that happened fast!

I normally really like Ed but something about that last scene where he’s talking in a Batman-wannabe growl and staring at himself in a mirror was weird.

Also, Gotham, come on, not again with that BROTHERS stuff.

Gotham just did BatCat real dirty. Like, Bruce just leaves Selina a note?! He knew he was gonna leave and they just have him leave her a note?! He can’t even say goodbye in person?!

“I never tried to replace your parents. But I want you to know, Master Bruce, that you are the only son that I’ll ever have, and I could not be more proud.” I was in tears during this scene. And the Batman-esque music was perfect.

(LOL remember when my first Gotham post for this season was only like 10 bullet points long. They just keep getting longer. 😂)

Anyway, overall, I thought this episode was really good, and it’s because we finally had the return of nice!Jim Gordon and some nice moments between him and Barbara. There were some weird pacing problems and some things that felt like they resolved a little too conveniently, but I enjoyed it overall.

The finale is soon! It’s gonna be a little weird to not have some of the younger actors in the flash forward, but I’m excited to see how they’re gonna wrap everything up and what our favorite Gotham residents are up to 10 years later

Nobody cares (I think)

Based on my first post on this site, I have decided to title these long philosophical text posts「I Think」. First of all, I would like to disclaim that I do not actively study either psychology, philosophy, or any likely any other field in which I lead you to believe I study (I did do ToK, tho). Let us not, however, get too much into that, and dive into what I call the “Nobody Cares Principal,” or the “Indifferent Bystanders Principal” and some of its corollaries, none of which exist in actual psychological study. Imma go off anyway. If anybody with social anxiety reads this, I mean not to belittle your problems. This is just an interpretation. A thought.

Anywho, if you ever feel nervous, paranoid, like everybody is watching you while going about your daily life and being silently judgemental, don’t be. The short version is that no stranger gives a care about you, your life, your bullshit, or your cat.

This is what I call the indifferent bystander principal, which means states that nobody will pay you any mind at all as to what you do, so long as it isn’t especially outstanding. To explain the longer version, I’ll explain the specific people that you probably fear. The only thing is that there are probably only 2 or 3 types of people.

The first group contains all the people that go about their day while not working. This includes people on trains, sitting in restaurants, waiting in lines, et cetera. If you’re on your phone (which you probably are, even if you’re reading this on a laptop), you’re probably one of them right now. Now, without taking your eyes off of your phone, answer: what is the person closest to you doing right now? You probably don’t know for sure, and that’s because you never thought to pay attention in the first place. And good news: neither have they. Unless people are looking to fight, which some certainly are (hit me up), nobody will think to care about anybody around them except for themselves. But what about those whose job is to care about other people?

They don’t care either. The other two groups comprise of workers, and they are no exception to the whole principal. The first group is people who work in customer service or representation. Even if you don’t work in retail or anything of the sort, you probably know the true horror stories of the job from people on this site, such as every 40-60 year old woman with semi-short hair who wants to speak to the manager before she even sets foot into the establishment. Even if your making an important call to a representative, I’ll bet that 95% of the people they talk with are just as nervous as you are to make the call, but they can neither tell nor care. What they are probably thinking about is:

- The end of their shift

- What to eat later

- A hot piece of ass, probably

- Self-insert fan fiction concepts that will never be written

And what they are not thinking about, even during the conversation is:

- You

So you don’t have to be nervous around these workers, because they’ve dealt with worse enough not to care what you’re like. This fits into the first corollary, which I call the “Cucumbers and Vaseline Corollary”, which states that if you enter a grocery store and only buy a bunch of cucumbers and a vat of Vaseline (and you know damn well what that entails), nobody would even bat an eye. The people are either too absorbed in their lives to notice (though one might be thinking “same”) and the employees either have had hundreds of similar people or are too focused on closing time to even put 2+2 together. Either way, nobody cares.

The final group of people comes in the form of professionals and specialists, who have to deal with idiots every day. Never worry about a professional, for they are paid to know more than you, they are not allowed to break confidentiality, and they are more than fine if you admit to knowing nothing. This fits into the “Mail-order Bride Corollary,” which means that you will set a greater impression on a specialist if you stay blunt and open minded. The name of this comes from an OBGYN. Every day, they deal with people such as those who have no idea that sex leads to pregnancy, those who treat vagina as a taboo word, and those that have done “extensive research” (20 minutes on google) and therefor know more than the doctor. The favorite patient was a mail order bride, who simply came in one day and said “Dr. ---, my pussy itch. Can you see what wrong?” Any doctor would never complain about this patient. Nor would a specialist complain about somebody like them, because they are thankful for the simple work and all the information, and, more importantly, they do not care for how it is presented as long as it is blunt.

Now all I’ve said before is well and good, but I’ve also said that people will not look at you as long as you don’t do something especially outstanding, so what does that mean. Simply put, sound. Humans and most other animals respond most readily to sound, so anything that isn’t loud probably will not be noticed. A person could be doing back flips in the middle of a market, but as long as their not doing it to blaring jazz-deathmetal fusion, the chances are that not everyone will notice.

So to summarize the whole thing, people don’t care what you’re doing because they only care about themselves. Workers don’t care about you because they only care about leaving regardless. Professionals only care because they’re paid to, and don’t want you to care either. So go out and order all those cucumbers, because I think that nobody will care what the fuck you do.

A/N: This sprang from my question of, “Why don’t they just go to CVS and get a real first aid kit?” Thanks to @idreamofhazel and @inmysparetime0 for their help and @jpadjackles for the gif (i’m a mess tonight. lol)

Dean crashed through the motel room door, Sam in his wake, and Y/N close behind. They were drenched in sweat, covered in dirt, and dripping with blood. The hunt had gone just about as expected, perhaps with a few more baseball bats to the face than Dean would have liked, but it wasn’t anything the trio couldn’t handle.

Sam’s nose was bleeding, his lip and eye cut; dried blood stained his flannel and he ripped it off, retreating quickly into the bathroom. Dean collapsed onto his bed and slowly peeled off his shirt. A deep gash marred his upper arm, the flesh torn and oozing. Y/N gasped when she saw it, and ran to her duffel bag.

“You’re gonna need stitches,” she said as she dug through her clothes to pull out the first aid kit from the bottom of the bag.

Dean rolled his eyes, “Ya think?” He touched the cut and pulled back, wincing in pain.

“Well don’t touch it, dummy!” Y/N shook her head and set the white box down on the bed. She sat next to him and gently touched his arm, her fingers dancing around the wound, assessing the damage. “Yup, that’s a doozy!”

“Who even says ‘doozy’?” Dean scoffed, “How old are you?”

“Younger than you, Grandpa. Now, shut up and hold still.”

Dean huffed and let his head fall back, waiting impatiently for Y/N to stitch him up. She opened the kit and carefully laid out what she would need. Dean peeked down at her, “What is that?”

Y/N raised an eyebrow as she ripped open out a pack of gauze, shaking her head, “A first aid kit. For to administer first aid. Works much better than floss and whiskey.”

“Nothing wrong with floss and whiskey, Y/N.”

“Yeah, well, I happen to know about these magical places called drug stores, and in them you can purchase medical supplies so you don’t die of sepsis after being cut with rusty, jagged pipes,” she sassed and opened the brown bottle of peroxide, holding it to the gauze pad in her hand. “By the way, when was your last tetanus shot?”

“What’s a tetanus shot?” Y/N rolled her eyes and pressed the wet gauze to his skin. He yelped like a child and pulled away. “Holy shit!”

“Relax! It’s killing the germs!” Y/N scolded.

“Why is it bubbling?”

“It’s peroxide. It does that. Now, hold still!”

Dean shook his head, his teeth clenched, his lips twisted in a deep frown. “God damn it Y/N! You’re a crappy nurse, you know that?”

“Hey! I’m the best damn nurse you’ve ever had!” Y/N dabbed at the cut and then turned her attention back to the medical equipment. She carefully chose her needle and thread, and took a deep breath, looking up at Dean. “This is gonna suck,” she cautioned.

Dean sighed, “This is why we use whiskey. I can’t drink that peroxide shit.”

Y/N took pity on him and went to the table by the door, bringing back his bottle of Jack. He twisted the cap off with his teeth and took a deep drink. “You want some?” He asked, holding the bottle towards her.

“That might help actually, it’s been awhile since I’ve done this.” Dean’s entire body tensed with fear as she spoke, but she laughed it away, “Just kidding.” She winked and took a quick sip. “OK, hold still…”

“Wait!” Dean scooted back and grabbed the bottle once more. “Maybe we should wait for Sam.”

“Dean, I know what I’m doing. Hold still.”

“Well just… I like the way he does it.”

Y/N let out a frustrated breath, “Are you kidding me? Hold still or I’ll tie you down!”

A sly smirk formed on Dean’s lips, “Promise?”

“You’re ridiculous,” Y/N shook her head and set to work.

Eleven perfect stitches later, Y/N sat back and smiled proudly. “Looks perfect.”

Dean twisted his neck to look down at her work. He gave a tiny nod of approval. “Not bad,” he praised halfheartedly.

“Not bad?” Y/N feigned shock, “It’s beautiful. I haven’t seen stitch work like this since I had my appendix out in the ninth grade.”

Dean laughed and watched as Y/N went back to the kit once more. She tore open a tiny square package and pulled out an alcohol soaked towelette as Dean looked on, worried.

“What is that?” he asked, his brows knitted in concern once again.

“An alcohol swab.”

“Whoa, I don’t need to be swabbed. What are you swabbing?”

Y/N growled in annoyance. “You are such an infant, Dean! It’s alcohol. I’m gonna wipe your stitches and make sure no nasty little germs sneak in there before I bandage you up. Good Lord, it’s like you’ve never been to a doctor or anything.”

“Hey, just because we have our own way of doing things, don’t make it bad.” Dean hissed as Y/N passed the cold wipe across his freshly sealed cut.

“Yeah and the proper way isn’t bad either, is it?” Y/N asked, titling her head up at him.

“I guess not,” he conceded, his mouth twitching as she wiped him again. “Your way hurts more though.”

Y/N softened, “Does it really?” She tossed the swab onto the floor. “I’m sorry baby.” Slowly she leaned down close to his arm. “I just want to take care of you.” She pursed her lips and blew across the cut, soothing his pain with her warm breath. “Is that better?”

“Mmm… I take it back,” he smirked, “You are a pretty good nurse. And sexy too.” Dean winked and touched her cheek with his free hand.

“You think so? Well maybe I can give you a proper check up.” She teased and placed her hand on his knee, slowly dragging it up to settle against the bulge in his jeans.

“I’d like that,” he moaned as she rubbed her palm down over his crotch. “Do you make house calls?”

“Only for my favorite patients.” Y/N leaned in even closer, pressing her breasts against his chest. Just as their lips were about to meet in that sweet, exhaustion fueled kiss they so craved, the bathroom door popped open, and a fresh-faced Sam emerged.

“Oops,” Y/N laughed, “I guess we’ll have to reschedule your appointment.” She pecked Dean’s cheek and pulled away with a pout.

“Damn it Sammy! Alone time!” Dean shook his head and pulled his shirt back on, glaring at his brother. “You ever hear of knocking?”

Sam returned Dean’s glare with one of his own, raising his shoulders in question, “What the hell, Dean? I was in the bathroom.”

Dean sighed and watched as Y/N cleared away the trash from the bed, knowing his time at the doctor’s office would have to wait until they were back at home. Grumbling, he pulled his shirt back on and sneered at his brother, “Still shoulda knocked.”

It started when my 2007 gs eclipse clutch gave out the dealership close to my house wasn't a very professional looking place when it came to their shop they mistreated the cars that where there and had old rusted cars parked in their lot. My mom suggested that I get repair by my cousins husband so my mom handed me her cell phone called him and told me to bring it in the morning because he worked all day til 7pm and if i couldn't get to him to leave the key under the plant in front of the garage door (that call was on 6-24-09). I tried to get there early enough (6-25-09) but i missed him and no one was home so I placed the key under the plant and left I told the police officer that I had made a call to him after dropping the key but the phone number to reach him was on my moms cell phone. I thought I did I couldn't remember because I came back a day later for the car. After I walked home I thought id leave it there a day so he could find the problem, since he gets home at 7pm. When I got there on 6-26-09 my car wasn't there and they said they never saw it there so i called the police to see if it was towed it wasn't and the key wasn't there either, police came over and took my statement but on the report he stated that the car was stolen on 6-26-09 and the phone number I used to call to tell them I was leaving the car there was written down wrong. The insurance company said that the inconsistencies where that I did not use my cell to make a phone call on the 6-24-09 or 6-25-09 I told them that i used my mothers cell phone in the oath recorded meeting they recorded my statement a week after i reported my car stolen and i failed to tell them i used my mothers cell phone but they didn't ask and I also told them I called when I placed the key under the plant but I was confused because I had called my cousin twice on 6-24-09. I never failed to make a payment on any of my bills and i have good credit score I'm in fact almost done with my car payment. The sky is a beautiful blue today~ (Some updates, nicer things, random snippets of memories and why I write about weather so much lol)

I was thinking maybe I should write about something lighter, like the things I did recently, in particular the good things, my small triumphs and such c: 

I’ve spent a lot more time out with my sister (and sometimes her bf and my mum) recently, especially in the case of going shopping~! I bought quite a lot of nice tops with interesting and motivating text based designs on them (maybe I’ll photograph them sometime), and some of them were on sale too yay! :3 Usually I try and avoid going out too many times in a row or when I don’t feel mentally prepared beforehand but I went and it was alright! Though some of the times I had no choice as I had a doctors appointment, but instead of just going home I went to the shops or the supermarket afterwards and had a nice long browse around~ 

I used to remember a long long time ago when I was younger I really did not enjoy shopping and would always constantly be asking when we could go home lol but now it’s pretty fun (apart from the fact I’m actually really poor). Also a long time ago I would trail around after my sis or whoever, but now I go off on my own and look at whatever I feel but sometimes my sis trails after me instead lol and likes to moan about me looking at things too slowly quite a lot. It makes me anxious but I told her about it so she does it less or I’ll tell her to go look at something else, cause I like taking my sweet time yo >3< I don’t mean like I only started doing this recently haha, but it did take quite a few years before I felt confident enough to go around on my own and actually enjoy it. I would go shopping completely on my own and take public transport after college and uni sometimes and such, I feel I’ve kind of taken a step back since then but I’m not back at square one at least I guess, it’s something!

I still feel awkward and anxious when people are blocking the way of an aisle or when they’re looking at the same rack of stuff, but I’m gonna try and push these feelings aside, be more assertive and so and so. There were also times where certain unusual situations were kind of traumatic for me and maybe I’ll write or draw about them sometime, but they’re not important and I shouldn’t keep thinking back on them and feeling hurt. I still sometimes get that ‘lost kid that has to look down every aisle and worries everyone already paid and left’ feeling after wandering around when I go to the supermarket with my parents lol, because they are all about being quick so they can go home and get ready for work and stuff, but having a phone now unlike when I was a kid and didn’t have one makes everything suck much less hah take that!

Anyways, back to the present! The weather has been pretty flip floppy lately, on some few random days the weather was real hot and some super rainy and cold and some calm and neutral, like today. I really love when it spontaneously rains so hard and immediately after the sky is such a wonderful clear blue, I feel it’s analogous to when you have are suddenly overcome with negative emotions and once they pass you feel at ease and can think with clarity again aka. the calm after the storm. I really like the weather and making weird metaphors about it as you could probably tell already lolol. The weather is just something that’s always there, something that affects mood but is also so moody itself, something everyone experiences and uses for small talk and something so mundane but also wonderful and unpredictable (unless you look at the forecast everyday, I mean it’s real easy to check on the phone widget but I don’t haha, as much as I talk about it I don’t worship the weather channel or anything lol) ^^ 

Oh also in relation to this, when I said I was going to write this blog a bit more like a diary, it made me think of a time when I was little and my mum bought me a diary book. It was a simple Winnie the Pooh diary with a gold lock and guess what I wrote in it hahahaha I wrote in huge writing on each page a 3-4 word sentence of how the weather was that day LOL It was super wasteful and my sis and mum were like what even?! XD I’ve had lots of diaries since then and lots of attempts at writing about actual things but I’ve never been able to keep it up past a few days. I just hope this blog doesn’t die out like my past diaries or become a brief weather description collection either hahaha. Today’s post title is kinda like a tribute or slightly more advanced version of my kiddie diary x3

Okay enough about that lol! One of the days recently I went to the park~! I did say I wanted to go and my sister suggested it. It was some time in the afternoon on a weekday so it wasn’t to busy. It was pleasant and refreshing to go walkies sine I hadn’t gone there for a while, even though I really really hate all kinds of bugs (and things that have bugs in them, like trees) and shriek and flail at their presence lol. I saw some pretty flowers, sat on the see saw with my sis briefly (which I was nervous about cuz there were kids around and well I’m not a kid anymore *sob* but I will always be a kid at heart and so will my sis, so I did it anyways! Yolo, gotta sit my but on all the things next time XD). I also saw the duckies! Or well I think they were actually geese but they were so pretty and derpy and their little floofy babies omg! ;w; Soooo cute!! I definitely want to go see them again sometime :D I’ve come to kind of dislike zoos (and aquariums too) because I feel so bad seeing some of them so distressed looking and it feels unfair that they have to live in such a contained and artificial space without choice, but when there’s wildlife living free like the duckies in the lake, it’s just such a pleasant thing to witness.

Oh also some good today was I cooked my own breakfast...kinda... It was just a fried egg with tuna in it pretty much and there was rice too (made in a rice cooker not by me lol) but I cooked the egg part! It takes so much convincing for me to be able to do just this. My mum and dad don’t like me hanging around the kitchen because ‘you’re too slow’ and ‘you’ll make a mess’ etc. I know they keep babying me and want things to go smoothly their way... but it needs to change! I don’t want to be dependant forever :c I was persistent this time and I’m glad! :D And I also suggested that maybe everyday I could maybe learn something new from them, whether it be just some small technique or a recipe or whatever. I am lacking in well... life skills because I was never taught or allowed to do certain things, like cooking for example. I can make something easy like instant ramen or pasta, but they usually handle all meals and don’t let me experiment or cook for reals. The only thing they really trust me with is making tea and sandwiches and the only time I cooked something from a recipe was cooking class at school a long time ago lol. Sometimes I help my sister bake stuff, but they get annoyed at her too for being in the way and stuff, but she isn’t a weak spirited person like me so she just carries on haha.

I can watch video tutorials all I want but it’ll never be useful without actual execution and practice, you know! >< My dad is a chef and is particularly prideful of his cooking, and also quick to insult and get annoyed for small mistakes, so it’s gonna be tough but I’m gonna try anyways! Lately I’ve been trying harder to just chat and bond with my dad more, we watch drama/animation series together at supper which is nice~! (Even though he feigns reluctance to watch and that he’s interested sometimes lol). Conversation is particularly hard because of the language barrier, but if I make the conversation about learning language like I did the other day and maybe now even about learning cooking stuff, then maybe things will go at a much better pace :D 

I also drew some things I was kind of happy about lately, and didn’t give up on trying to interact online even though I really wanted to! I need to get my stuff organised and start posting stuff! I feel like the longer I leave it, the less it’s making me wanna do it, stop it perfection, you’re unnecessary! x^x I really hate having an empty account, it makes me feel like a creep (like on youtube it’s okay but on other places it’s unusual, right?) ;^; Something I keep forgetting is that there is no rules and no obligations for me (or anyone else) to do anything or feel anything. There’s no right or wrong, silly self! I need to stop worrying so much and just go for it! Yolo the hell out of everything (maybe that’s not quite the right phrase lol) and just stop falling into the paralysis by analysis trap! X3 Imma try harder! ò^ó

Uh uhhh before I end this, I have some update-y stuff on my therapy situation... I have my first appointment tomorrow! I’m so nervous!! xAx The funny thing though (or well, not really), is that when my doctor was giving me options on who to see, I could either go for the general therapist who works in the same facility or to go for the referral service for a more specific recommendation. I opted for the second in hope that I could see someone with a specialism in idk... AVPD or personality disorders (if there is a such thing), but it seems I’ve ended up going full circle and ending up getting recommended to the general therapist back here >< I mean, at least it’s convenient and better than nothing I suppose... Anyways, I don’t know how it’ll go so I shouldn’t make any assumptions or have any wild expectations. I can do this! It’ll be okay! I’m glad I got a female therapist, because I get even more nervous around guys and the one I had in the past was ahhh idk... maybe I’ll write about it with whatever I write about after the app tomorrow. I just hope it goes well!
