Code Within the Dream

Musouka had ventured into the Dreamscape to pay Fout and Satoru a visit in person. It had been a while since they’re last real threat so they continued on with basic research as usual. They attempted to test the limits of the Dreamscape and find out what it could be capable of.

“Alright as we know you can create objects,” Satoru said as they sat on the grass and looked up at Musouka who was standing concentrated. She gave a nod and consecutively created items. A book, a volleyball, a backpack, and a bag of chips. Satoru rose a brow at seeing the last item.

“What? Got hungry,” she shrugged playfully. He opened the bag to find there wasn’t any chips inside. “Ah so I have to be more specific.. weird how it wouldn’t be implied in my mind,” she said pensively. Musouka leaned down to open the backpack to find it was empty as well. She opened the book to see blank pages. “Ok.” The items then poofed away from existence.

“Can you create larger items?” Satoru questioned. Musouka thought for a moment then concentrated on one spot a couple feet away. A recliner soon appeared. Satoru again rose a brow at her while she grinned at them pleased at the outcome. She made her way to the chair and sat back with a content sigh. Satoru stood and made their way to her. He put his hands to his hips and chuckled. He couldn’t help but look on at her curiously for a moment.

“Can you project.. memories?” Satoru said in a more careful voice. Musouka opened her eyes and smiled.

“Haven’t tried that before. Let’s see.. maybe by the waterfall,” she said as she stood. The two walked over to the waterfall and stood in the pond where the waterfall splashed down to.

Musouka concentrated and squinted at the falling water. An image gradually began to be seen on the water as if it were a blurred screen. It appeared to be the kitchen in her perspective, what she had been making for breakfast that morning. The two stood with impressed looks before Musouka concentrated again. She went back further to dinner the night before. They saw Hitomu looking down at his plate and eating contently.

“This is great!” Musouka said. “We could go back to moments of the past and see them directly. It must be limited to what we ourselves remember though, and not actually take us to that point in time…” A light frown just barely crossed Satoru’s face as they saw Musouka looking in the mirror wearing a light blue and yellow dress. Hitomu came beside her dressed up as well and put his arm to her side, pulling her closer.

“You look great,” Hitomu said brightly.

“You’re not bad yourself,” Musouka snarked playfully. The two looked into each other’s eyes and leaned in until Musouka bashfully turned away from the waterfall, ending the memory. Satoru and Musouka were silent for a second until she cleared her throat. “W-well that’s useful! Maybe even useful for displaying things that are hard to say. Maybe.. a little too useful. Uh we could probably tighten some loose ends. I’ll help you out with fixing things up,” Musouka said awkwardly. She turned to walk back to the hills of the dreamscape until she heard a distinct fluttering. She turned to see Satoru looking into the waterfall. Displayed was the familiar swarm of fireflies circling around him. Once they cleared away they could see Musouka smiling brightly at him, holding her hands in his.

“Maybe even useful for displaying things that are hard to say.” Satoru turned to Musouka with solemn eyes and a forlorn yet sincere smile. It was a wonder how he could have such a mix of emotions displayed on his face. “Go ahead, rewrite it, rebuild me. No code will change the fact that I love you. That I still love you.” Musouka’s eyes widened until her eyes shot open in the darkness of the middle of the night in her bedroom.

Musouka breathed somewhat uneasily as she regained her senses. Her vision focused to the sight of Hitomu lying beside her on the bed, turned to her but in deep sleep. She cleared his bangs away from his forehead and stroked his face, a light comforted smile coming to her face as she then snuggled closer to him. Hitomu sleepily wrapped his arms around her. She stared blankly to his chest and gave a breath. ‘Can A.I.’s like them.. even dream?’

omg i love recommending songs, for anime ops and eds i recommend bungou stray dogs' the ops are usually sung by granrodeo and the eds by luck life and both bands have amazing songs as well!!! ao no exorcist op and eds are amazing as well!! my faces are core pride and itteki no eikyo by UVERworld and i'm pretty sure u already received recommendations such as haikyuu, noragami, fma etc so as for jpop/jrock i recommend: frederic, yorushika, kana-boon and lucky tapes!
