Sunan of Eid Al-Adha:
Ghusl:
Shaykh Muḥammad Bin Salih al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
“Some of the scholars regarded it as Mustaḥabb (recommended) to take Ghusl for the ‘Eid prayer, because it is narrated that some of the Salaf did this, this is also the opinion of ‘Ali b. Abi Talib رضي الله عنه
‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Umar used to do ghusl on the day of al-Fitr before going out to the prayer-place in the morning.
📚:Al-Muwatta 428
Going for the 'Eid Salah from one route and coming back from another:
“When Allah’s Messenger ﷺ would go out on the day of ‘Eid by one route, he would return by another.”
📚:جامع الترمذي ٥٤١
Wearing Your Best Clothes:
Shaykh Muhammad Bin Salih al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
“You should wear your best clothes – this is for men. With regards to women, they should not wear beauiful clothes when they go out to the ‘Eid prayer place, because the Prophet ﷺ said:
'Let them go out looking decent’ i.e. in their regular clothes that are not fancy. It is haram for them (i.e women) to go out wearing perfume and makeup.”
📚:مجموع الفتاوى ١٦\٢١٦-٢٢٣
Ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما would dress in his best clothes for the two ‘Eids as reported by Ibn Hajar رحمه الله in his Fath-ul-Bari ● 2/439
Greeting after the prayer:
Jubayr b. Nufayr رضي الله عنه narrated:
“When the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ met one another on the day of ‘Eid, they would say to one another, 'Taqabbal-Allaahu Minnaa Wa Minkum’ (May Allah accept (good deeds) from us and from you).”
📚:الفتح ٢/٤٤٦
Praying two rak’at (units) after returning home from 'Eid prayer:
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri رضي الله عنه narrated:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not pray anything before the 'Eid prayer then when he returned to his house (after prayer), he would pray 2 units (Rak’at).”
📚:رواه ابن ماجه ١٢٩٣
Takbir:
Ibn Abi Shaybah narrated that az-Zuhri said:
“The people used to recite Takbir on ‘Eid when they came out of their houses until they came to the prayer place, and until the imam came out. When the imam came out they fell silent, and when he said takbīr they said takbīr.”
📚:Irwa al-Ghalil ● 1/121
Do not eat before the prayer eat after the prayer, especially if you have sacrificed.

‘Like the horrors of judgment day’: Palestinians on Israel’s hostage rescue
People were shopping in Nuseirat market when the first airstrikes hit. Then hundreds began running
The market in Nuseirat was busy on Saturday morning. Among the crowds were Asia El-Nemer, looking for a pharmacy that still had stock of her sister’s medication, and Ansam Haroun, hoping to find new clothes to lift her daughters’ spirits on the forthcoming Eid al-Adha holiday. This part of central Gaza had emptied at the start of the year when Israeli troops first moved through, destroying Haroun’s house in an airstrike, but filled up again from May as more than a million people fled north to escape another operation in Rafah. “The Nuseirat market is always crowded, but now more than usual because of the many displaced people,” said Haroun, 29, who is now staying with an uncle. She was looking at outfits for the girls when the first Israeli airstrikes hit, and almost without thinking raced out of the door to go to them. Outside, she found a scene “like the horrors of judgment day”, as panicked crowds tried to escape the coming onslaught. Helicopters and quadcopter drones would soon join the assault that left hundreds dead, and shattered bodies scattered along the streets, images from the area show. “Everyone was screaming, terrified,” she said. “The street I was on was only 50 metres long, but it was packed with hundreds of people, all running. A woman next to me fainted from terror, and I saw vendors abandoning their goods on the roadside to flee.” El-Nemer, a 37-year-old software engineer originally from northern Gaza, was among the crush of people trying to escape. “I was jogging along the street with other women. We were terrified,” she said. They ran past health clinics and schools where they might once have sought shelter, but now shunned because of Israeli attacks on both types of compound. But when a helicopter appeared ahead and started shooting people in the street, and a quadcopter joined the attack, the crowd became hysterical and she took cover in a nearby house, dragging in another woman who was having a panic attack. They would not discover for hours that the intense attack was launched to support Israeli special forces on a mission to free four hostages held in apartments near the market. Gaza’s health ministry said more than 270 Palestinians were killed and more than 600 injured in the assault. Special forces soldiers arrived in central Nuseirat in a truck piled with furniture, disguised as Palestinians displaced from Rafah, Israel’s Ynet online news channel reported, citing Saudi media. Raed Tawfiq Abu Youssef, who was keeping vigil at hospital over a son critically injured in the attack, said his cousin watched the Israeli team arrive in the truck and a car. “Some men got out of the truck, greeted people in front of the house, went in and started killing everyone,” he said. The bombing began soon after. The Israeli military said its forces came under attack during a complex operation, and “under 100 people were killed”; a spokesperson said he did not know how many were civilians.

BAD BUDDY'S UNCLE YOD
Today I learned that the spritely Uncle Yod in Bad Buddy was played by respected theater heavyweight Tua Pradit Prasartthong:
above) Khun Pradit at BBS Ep.11 [4/4] 7.41 – shout-out too to the little rainbow flag on the deckchair 😍
Aside from acting, Khun Pradit is also Artistic Director at Bangkok's Anatta Theatre Troupe. His turn in Bad Buddy is not credited on BBS's My Drama List webpage though, so I thought I'd give him a little nod here.
(above) This photo is from Khun Pradit's Facebook (linked here) and shows him in (likely) Malay-Muslim songket-trimmed costume wishing readers a Happy Eid al-Adha using a Malay greeting; not everyone in Thailand is ethnic Thai or Buddhist 😊
Uncle Yod's bar in Ep.11 is called Ko Yod's Bar (that's what it says in Thai on the signboard), where "Ko" means elder brother I think (a loanword from Chinese). But Pat and Pran address him as "Loong", which they also do for Uncle Tong, an appropriate honorific since Yod is quite a bit older than they are.
Director Aof likes working with actors from the theater world (mentioned in one of the Soon Vijarn Reaction/Recap videos on YouTube) and this is another example. The other theater performers I could identify in Bad Buddy are Pong Kusuma Teppharak, who played Kruu Payao in Ep.10, and Jum Amata Piyavanich, who played Junior's mom in Ep.11.
You can find more info about Khun Pradit online so I won't reproduce much more of that here. Suffice to say he's legit the real deal when it comes to performing and theater.
But this also shows, yet again, how Director Aof put in great effort to engineer the most robust artistic buttressing for BBS, even with the minor roles. A lot of love went into crafting this series with the best quality they could find, all around, and I think it shows in the overall finished product. 😍💖
P.S. A little side note: the following photo from the Man Suang set/workshop/preparatory rituals (I'm not sure which it is, but the source Tumblr post is linked here, and the original Twitter here) shows that Khun Pradit will also be in the upcoming MileApo movie (that's him right at the front taking the wefie):
Aside from Khun Pradit, the MileApo vehicle also has a whole host of other heavyweights involved in front of and also behind the camera, so fingers crossed this movie (historically-themed) will turn out well. 😊

Celebrating Qurbani Eid 2024: A Time for Reflection and Community
Qurbani Eid, also known as Eid al-Adha, is a significant religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide. In 2024, this auspicious occasion will fall on June 17th, marking a time of joy, gratitude, and community. This blog post explores the rich traditions, spiritual significance, and community activities associated with Qurbani Eid 2024. eid ul adha qurbani
Understanding Qurbani Eid
Qurbani Eid commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. According to Islamic tradition, God intervened and provided a ram to be sacrificed instead. This act of devotion teaches Muslims the importance of faith, sacrifice, and submission to God's will. Qurbani, which means sacrifice, plays a central role in the celebration.
Spiritual Significance
Qurbani Eid is not just about the act of sacrificing an animal; it holds deep spiritual meaning. The festival emphasizes the values of compassion, generosity, and gratitude. Muslims believe that performing Qurbani allows them to express their love for God and fulfill their religious obligations. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of sharing one’s blessings with those in need.
Preparing for Qurbani Eid 2024
As the date of Qurbani Eid 2024 approaches, families and communities start their preparations. They clean their homes, buy new clothes, and plan festive meals.
The atmosphere becomes lively with excitement as people discuss their Qurbani plans.
Choosing the right animal for sacrifice is crucial. Traditionally, Muslims sacrifice goats, sheep, cows, or camels, depending on their means and preferences.
Families often come together to purchase an animal, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration.
The Ritual of Qurbani
On the day of Qurbani Eid, families begin the morning with prayers at their local mosques. They wear their best clothes, embracing the festive spirit. After the prayer, they return home to perform the Qurbani ritual. qurbani 2024
The chosen animal is treated humanely, symbolizing respect and compassion. Families often invite friends and neighbors to witness the sacrifice, reinforcing community bonds. Once the sacrifice is completed, the meat is divided into three portions: one for the family, one for relatives, and one for those in need. This act of sharing embodies the true spirit of Qurbani Eid.
Community and Charity
Community involvement plays a significant role during Qurbani Eid. Many organizations and mosques facilitate Qurbani donations, ensuring that those less fortunate can participate in the festivities. This charitable aspect highlights the festival’s focus on helping others, making it a time for giving and gratitude.
Food distribution is also a common practice. Families prepare large quantities of delicious dishes to share with neighbors, creating a sense of camaraderie. Traditional foods such as biryani, kebabs, and sweets become the centerpiece of gatherings.
Cultural Traditions Around Qurbani Eid
Qurbani Eid is celebrated differently across various cultures. In South Asia, festive bazaars spring up, filled with colorful decorations and delicious treats. Families often visit each other's homes to exchange greetings and gifts, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
In some regions, people engage in cultural performances and activities, showcasing their traditions and customs. These celebrations often include music, dance, and storytelling, adding to the festive spirit.
The Importance of Reflection
While Qurbani Eid is a time of celebration, it is also an opportunity for reflection. Muslims are encouraged to contemplate their actions, renew their faith, and strengthen their connection with God. This introspective aspect of the festival emphasizes personal growth and spiritual development.
Qurbani Eid 2024: A New Beginning
As Qurbani Eid 2024 approaches, it invites everyone to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, community, and gratitude. It’s a time to come together, appreciate the blessings in life, and reach out to those in need. Whether through charitable donations, sharing meals, or simply spending time with loved ones, the essence of Qurbani Eid lies in fostering unity and compassion.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Qurbani Eid 2024 will be a celebration filled with joy, reflection, and community spirit. As families prepare for this auspicious occasion, they will embody the values of faith, generosity, and gratitude. This Eid serves as a reminder to prioritize our relationships with God, our community, and those in need. Let us all look forward to celebrating Qurbani Eid 2024 with open hearts and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
