Behold the fruits of my afternoon's labors
#since 4pm and i also fit in washing my sheets and an hour of dissertation work in the waiting periods#please be advised this is not a successful workday because i should have done 4 hours of dissertation work#and i used up all the olive oil so i think i have to go to costco#anyway. we've got a fresh jar of granola. grits bowls for the week (just add egg). tortillas for chimichangas.#roast chicken to strip for parts and save for broth (i already have broth now)#(actually i don't know why that needed to happen this weekend. oh cause i'm making chicken pot pie out of it on monday)#and pasta moki-style which requires fresh garlic to be Good#and hence i can only make it when my roommate is out of town!#kaylie makes things

It's an odd thing to focus on, but now I wanna know the family's breakfast preferences after watching the scene where Maddie prepares it for the boys. She has two platefuls of food before noticing Knuckles' throne, and Sonic is about to grab one of them before he sees it too, but we've also got grapes (no guessing who that's for), watermelon and orange juice on the kitchen table where Maddie's getting everything together.

Whatever Maddie is making sure looks good! It looks like she made the boys bacon, a bagel with cream cheese, pancakes (which has been stated as Sonic Wachowski’s favorite breakfast food), and egg whites. Looks like she’s got a green goddess drink for them as well.

The best way I can describe the new character visuals is that it looks like every character has been put through a rock tumbler for 100 hours
Case in point:

i seriously need more narumi and mina moments because just imagine the relief mina felt when narumi joined, similar age to her and was also considered a prodigy in the force.
to have someone to share the burden of the defence force’s future with must’ve felt so freeing. because before he joined it was just her, age 18, being told that she was going to change kaiju extermination with her exceptional synergy with firearms. and she was so, so scared.
narumi doesn’t have the kind of skills or talent for long range combat like she does, but he’s also a top candidate (despite his behavioural issues- which aren’t much of a hinderance anyway) and mina doesn’t have to carry the burden of the future alone anymore
(although she’d never admit, given she probably views narumi as someone completely shocking i just think it’s so funny how she stood there like O_O when she first saw him)
like i LOVE seeing the contrast. mina who was sent onto the battlefield for the first time and was deathly afraid vs narumi who was sent out and immediately took action because that’s how he always lived (fighting)
and now they’re the top two strongest captains in the force and they will be the ones to lead the new generation..
