ooohhh some very interesting ships, you're making me work for this one XD Kazuma/Gina Something intrigues me about this, they're so similar in temperments and yet, and the mentors they looked up to were vastly different people than they thought, even to the point where the memories are very bittersweet (Gina with Gregson, Kazuma with his own father, and to an extent Jigoku). I think things would be incredibly tense between them since Kazuma was considering killing Gregson, and that's still a tender spot for Gina since he DID help her a lot. I think that even if they have a tense beginning, there is a respect for the other there

AA Rarepair Week Day 5 - "Truth or Dairy"

If you follow me on twitter you KNOW i spent NaNoWriMo predominantly working on a fic for Rarepair Week that got a bit out of control because my love for this pairing is also a bit out of control.

I've been WAITING to post this and I want to shout out all my pals who've cheered me on through writing it! Writing for a rarepair (like, I'm literally creating the tag on ao3) can be a bit isolating but it's good to know there's so many people intrigued. 💖💖💖 Truly I appreciate everyone's encouragement 🥲

So, without further ado, my 20k Eggina fic, an AU if there ever was one, "Truth or Dairy" Gina Lestrade (Inspector Gina Lestrade, thank you very much!) is, as she does early every morning, making her rounds and ensuring the citizens on her beat are safe and untroubled.

Unfortunately, it's Gina who soon finds herself troubled, having to deal with that conceited milkman whose schedule always infuriatingly overlaps with hers. What did she ever do to him, that he has to be so damn difficult to get along with?

@nebulathisimdone drew me Ashley for an art raffle and @lemon-teacake had the big brain idea to ask Neb to add Gina, and mailed me a physical copy, framed and everything!

This drawing is based off the AU I have where Gina is taken in by Gregson at a younger age (and is friends with the Van Zieks family), and Ash never gets out of the slums, and becomes a milkman. You can find my first fic about this AU, "Truth or Dairy", on ao3.

Ashley's outfit here is what I have in mind for one of the sequels I have planned, where he and Gina have dinner at the Van Zieks manor.

💫 + 💌 for the ask game?

💫what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback? I do love all comments but there's always something thrilling about the novel length ones dissecting stuff that even I haven't completely thought about (like the ones you gave on Spilling the Truth, hah). Coupled with, usually, those point out specific lines that stick out to which i'm like hhhhhh 💌share something with us about an up-and-coming work (WIP) that has you excited! Well AA/DGS wise I have this Eggina fic that I've been chipping away out for the past several months and I'm at almost 10k with it and I'm love them. They're finally getting to talk some more but since it's Ash and Gina it's not without snark and belligerence. But this is from the opening scene, after they're speaking to Gregson and about to head out on their it's-not-a-date. (Thank you for the asks!)

Gregson walks up to Ashley, stopping in front of him, close enough to shake hands. If he’s expecting some sort of reaction at the sudden proximity, he receives nothing, and in return, shows no shift in his own countenance. “From what I understand, you’ll be accompanying Gina to the pub tonight.” “Yes, that’s the idea. She offered to buy me a drink as a show of thanks for… the whole ordeal we suffered through.” He restrains himself from mentioning this interrogation by Gregson is just an extension of that. “She spoke of a place that you’ve taken her to, the Toad and Truffle. Her treat – though I agreed I would reciprocate in the future.” Not that Ashley’s particularly proud that someone is paying for him, especially since that someone is Lestrade. But he wants to make it clear that this was an offer she made, and if Gregson is going to pitch a fit about it, he isn’t to blame. “Have her home by ten.” “Pardon?” He’s expected Gregson to make an attempt at intimidation, but not set out ground rules like this. A short, disbelieving laugh escapes him. “I think I’ll leave it up to Lestrade, what time she sees fit to return.” “Ten o’clock,” Gregson repeats. “That’s the time I see fit... Mr. Milverton.”

尋晚喺食晚飯之前，因為仲早，又未太肚餓，所以決定喺商場嗰度行下街先。商場中有間 《宜家》。噉因為一向都覺得 《宜家》 嘅環境都幾舒服嘅，就入去兜個白鴿轉 (yeah! 好高興可以咁快有機會試下用一下先排學到嘅 「白鴿轉」 呢番話！) 先都 (覺得) 幾爽！(笑)

噉就兜到兒童玩具部門嘞。而喺嗰度就睇到 《宜家》 嘅招牌鯊魚布公仔 BLÅHAJ 仲有得賣喔��當時我幾開心喔！其實想買個細隻嘅 BLÅHAJ，想咗好耐囉，只不過之前 《宜家》 一直無貨。今次睇到終於有貨，梗係即刻攬住一隻唔放啦！(笑) 今次真係好彩喔！

噉呢次唔單止 「收養」 咗一位新嘅朋友，我都外帶咗 一盒好受歡迎嘅 《宜家》 瑞典肉丸子，諗住聽朝可以當早午餐食。順便亦 「同 BLÅHAJ 分享」 罷！(笑)

↑ 用咗先排喺書店買到嘅袋嚟孭 BLÅHAJ 返屋企。其實而家諗返，感覺上似個師奶噉，去咗街市一趟買咗條魚，正想拎返屋企自己劏噉樣！(笑)

近排同表姐出街時，佢又送畀我一隻可愛嘅柴犬公仔…多謝表姐！真知我心！(⁠/⁠^⁠-⁠^⁠(⁠^⁠ ⁠^⁠*⁠)⁠/

如果有留意到我間唔中嘅閒話錄片嘅，可能會覺得奇怪，點解呢個人次次都係好似只有同表姐約會咋？冇其他朋友咩？事實上，我同表姐真係好親㗎，由細玩到大，而家長大咗，仲有一個好特別嘅共同點：就係我哋兩個依然仲好鍾意玩公仔！咁難得有一個明白我呢個 「成人仲愛公仔」 嘅心態知己，我同表姐感情梗係好好啦！我哋起碼一，兩個禮拜內都會會合一次嘅！

講返正題。雖然我屋企已經有好多隻柴犬公仔嘞，既然係表姐嘅一番好意，而且呢隻 ↓ 柴犬公仔咁得意…我冇理由拒絕唔收，係咪？(笑)

返到屋企查下呢個嘜頭 『忠犬もちしば』 嘅來歷之後，發現咗所賣嘅柴犬公仔唔單止一種，仲有好多款添！而且好似係每年都有新款可賣！仲有，每一款嘅柴犬人物都有自己嘅人物表：名，生日，愛好，等等。

呢個（我留意咗一排嘞）就係日本公仔產業界嘅習俗嘞：佢哋好似好鍾意畀公仔玩具配埋一個詳細嘅人物表嘅！

而表姐所送畀我嘅呢隻小朋友，佢嘅正式日本名係叫 「おかか」 (okaka)，就係 「柴魚片」 嘅意思。

於是乎，我就決定咗，幫我嘅新狗仔朋友取名為 「吠柴魚」 囉！(笑)

「吠柴魚」 係由 「狗吠」 嘅 「吠」，同埋 「廢柴」 同 「柴魚」 結成嘅…係有食字嘅念頭。雖然 「吠柴魚」 睇起嚟好乖嘅樣…唔似會亂吠啩？(笑)

「吠柴魚」 同佢嘅新朋友 「波奇」 共享嘅第一餐：日式瑞士卷！唔好意思喔！瑞士卷有啲壓爛咗嘅樣！(笑)（因為瑞士卷太過軟，切緊佢，放上碟嘅時候唔小心壓扁少少！）

（「波奇」 又係表姐舊底送嘅 — 其實而家諗諗下，製作 「波奇」 嘅製作商家應該係想由 『忠犬もちしば』 嘅款式模仿出嚟嘅啩？(笑) 我諗 『忠犬もちしば』 有一排係幾受歡迎嘅…而家諗返嚟，我好似有睇過呢個嘜頭。如果矇查查嘅我都會留意過，噉證明咗呢個嘜頭有幾觸目皆是啩？）

好可惜，「波奇」 同 「吠柴魚」 嘅歡樂時光畀三隻 「化骨龍」 破壞咗！

（喂！三隻嘢！冇你哋嘅份呀！撞鬼！仲帶埋叉嚟添！冇陰功喔…對唔住嘞，「波奇」 同 「吠柴魚」…你哋最好分一啲蛋糕畀三隻嘢吧！如果唔係，佢哋係唔會罷休嘅！笑）

最近 (又) 約咗表姐一齊食晏！(笑) 今次我哋揀咗一間本地土生土長，老牌美式熟食店嚟試探。聽講呢間熟食店近期間會由目前嘅居所搬走。

搬到邊就未清楚，但趁佢哋未搬時盡快嚟試一次先！到底都未肯定佢哋會唔會成功搵到新嘅地點嚟落腳嘛！老闆娘又都一大把年紀嘞，本來已經超過退休嘅年齡，今次如果搵唔到新居所，可能會認真考慮將小生意持久閂門啩？

但同老闆娘一齊打理熟食店嘅後生老闆（老闆娘嘅孫）會點打算呢？畢竟佢未到退休嘅地步啩？希望佢哋會成功搵到新居所，繼續做落去！如果要持久閂咗一個有四十多年歷史嘅生意就太可惜啦！

講返正題罷！一踏入呢間熟食店就好似時光倒流噉！佢哋嘅內飾由八十年代冇咩變化。如果仲唔覺得夠氣氛嘅，還有臺收音機喺嗰度一直播緊七十，八十年代啲舊歌畀你完全投入時光倒流嘅感覺添！

對我噉鍾意懷舊嘅人嚟講，我好欣賞店內嘅佈置。唔單止舊派款，坐位都整到好似美國嘅Diner噉，要圍住櫃檯，面對開放式嘅廚房嚟坐。

講到菜式，佢哋嘅招牌菜就係三文治嘞。其實，唔包括飲品同甜品嘅話，除咗三文治同漢堡包之外，亦都冇咩其他菜式選擇嘞。

呢個係老闆特登噉安排嘅。聽講以前餐牌本來有多種菜式可揀嘅（例如：牛扒，意粉，精選早餐，等等）但因為最近人手唔夠，亦都畢竟係小小嘅家庭生意嘛，所以為咗保持菜式嘅高級水準，老闆決定喺食物品質邊發心機，選擇縮細餐牌，只留咗最暢銷嘅菜式喺餐牌上。

↑ 龍仔四（加埋貓巴士）：係咪成碟畀我哋食㗎？（你哋就休想呀！本來打算同你哋共享嘅，但你哋咁為食，竟然要成碟？！冇你哋嘅份！笑）

↑ 你四萬噉口都無用！我唔會心軟嘅！（其實有時候睇緊貓巴士時覺得佢嘅笑容有啲陰濕喎！笑）

今次嗌嘅係熟食店嘅招牌之一：魯賓三文治。本來想嗌佢哋另外一個招牌，古巴三文治嘅，可惜賣晒。但無所謂嘞，魯賓三文治都幾好食！黑麥麵包烘到啱啱好，塗上牛油嘅麵包烘到又脆又香，麵包塞滿嘅粗鹽醃牛肉亦都美味可口，唔會鹹過頭，又唔會太乾，加埋芝士，德式酸菜同千島醬就真係絕配呀！加上又係老闆親手整嘅椰菜沙律，老闆娘親手泡嘅熱朱古力…一個字：正！

睇嚟我哋喺網站睇過嘅食物評估係冇介紹錯嘛！而家諗緊，我長咁大，呢次其實係我第一次嘗試粗鹽醃牛肉，第一次嘗試一件正宗嘅魯賓三文治喎！

希望第時仲有機會返嚟再試下未得試嘅古巴三文治，同埋嗰日亦都賣晒嘅合桃批罷！呢兩樣我都未嘗試過呀！

I don't know if anyone else is doing NaNo (or, rather NaNo-but-not bc they can fuck off w their AI policies) but @symphonicfantasia and I are each other's accountability/writing buddies for the month. (Well every month but especially this month.)

S. Pacat and re reading "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra" by Gaston Leroux. The latter is for a possible fanfic 👀

Last movie: I rewatched Coco recently (it still makes me cry...) and watched for the first tim La La Land. I related a bit too much to that one.

Craving: Hmmmm... I could really go for some pizza right now. Or some carbonara... Just something salty and a bit greasy!

Commissioned this lovely Eggina piece based on an AU idea I have where Ashley is ultimately released, and ends up living in Soseki’s former digs.  (It’s more complicated than that but that’s the jist of it.)
