Y'know, in a way, canon Jinx is already a platonic yandere for Vi.

Jinx—Powder loves her. She clung to that love for so many years. And when she saw Vi again, God, she really did think that things could go back to... normal.

Then Caitlyn came into the picture. Her sister followed her willingly, became her company. Jinx wouldn't admit it, but jealousy and fear overwhelmed her. Her detestable hallucinations made a show for it.

She proceeds to kidnap them both. Playing with their lives. The whole lore stuff happens, but one thing's for sure—Jinx loves Vi. And that's only platonically.

So, does Jinx have the capacity to be an actual yandere? Yes. Yes, she does.

Mentally unstable, capable of killing without remorse, and obsessive—the whole package, sadly. I'm gonna go with the one-sided love for this headcanon specifically. I can't imagine her being in an actual relationship.

Alas, she's overwhelming. Her presence can be extremely suffocating.

Expect little to no boundaries or personal space. Honestly, just don't expect any sense of privacy from her at all. She'll pop up at anytime, anywhere, regardless of what you're doing.

Jinx adores you so much, and depending on your relationship, you can get her to do almost anything for you.

But remember, she's unpredictable, as always. She might do things that are completely out of sight.

For example, taking out that one topsider who whistled you over... What? Why are you upset?? You can't expect her to let that slide!

If you ever decide to ignore her, she'll simply follow you around—like a puppy almost—and quietly stare at you with her doe eyes.

You care about her. That's one of the many reasons why she fell for you. Even if it was out of pity—it doesn't matter. All she knew was that your actions felt genuine.

She gives you the same favor back in her own way.

Sure, she might not be able to comfort you like you comfort her, but look! She worked her ass off to make this music box for you! (Surprisingly enough, it doesn't explode when it finishes.)

Jinx has an intense fear and paranoia of you leaving her. She killed lost so many people. There are times where she'll keep her distance from you, but you and she both know it won't last long.

To counter her anxiety, she secures your safety in one way or another. Even if you can handle yourself.

At the very least, I don't think she'll kidnap you. She doesn't have to unless it's absolutely necessary.

But that's only because you're under her watch 24/7. If anything happens to you, it happens to her.

Please take note that she doesn't get along with jealousy well.

Be kind to her. Don't try, or even think, about leaving her.

Adding more stress won't end well for both of you.

So! I know most of you come for the shinyshrimp stuff (WHICH WE WILL GET TO) but let me yap about Glisten and Razzle for a bit.

Glisten and Razzle got together like 3 months after Glisten and Boxten broke up. Razzle never really looked to Glisten that much outside of acquaintances (cuz he was kinda sorta lowkey jealous of Glisten's charisma and stage-presence). In fact, they were much more focused on Vee and maybe possibly had a crush on her, which is really funny in hindsight with Dazzle lol. However, after learning that Vee was a lesbian/being very rudely rejected by her, Razzle found comfort in Glisten and fell head-over-heels almost immediately.

The only problem is, Razzle has -10000 aura. His ass cannot be flirty or cool-charismatic at all.

Glisten: What do you do when you aren't distracting? Razzle: (Glisten likes mysterious people) I sell drugs!! Glisten: ... Excuse me? Razzle: (But Glisten also likes kind people) But ONLY to kids in need! Dazzle: (STOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOP-) *defeated whimper*

Scapmi is a preppy goth-ish shrimp with an eye for fashion and artistry. With a smart mouth and a massive ego, he often comes off as an annoyance to others. He loves to be front and center in everything but often has to fight with his internalized idea that everything is a competition that he needs to win no matter what. It causes him a lot of stress and self-doubt, but he'd never let anyone see his weaknesses.

Gash is a shrap-toned violent mirror who speaks more with his fists than his voice. He hates everything that is not himself (and sweets) and makes sure people know that. He used to be a perfectionist, but after an accident permanently cracked his face, he dropped his "perfect" persona in favor of a messy, more hateful one. He wants connection but doesn't know how to express his needs in an understandable way, and that frustrates him immensely.

I think the first thing that catches everyone's attention is how smiley and chatty Oscar becomes in your presence. He's known for being a chill guy, doesn't show too many emotions too often, but when he's with you it's like he's in his element. Both of you know that your relationship is utterly platonic; he loves his girlfriend and you're not interested in each other in that way, but that doesn't stop people from shipping you. You kind of become one of the fan favourite ships in a matter of a few weeks because you look so good together and you have so much fun! Everyone loves seeing you and Oscar having a great time.

Except Franco. Franco hates everything related to you and Oscar being together in any way. He hates seeing edits on tiktok, he hates it when people point out the glint in your eyes when you look at Oscar and the way he smiles at you. He hates how you make each other laugh and how happy and carefree Oscar seems when he's in your presence. He hates all of that because people used to see the same when he was with you. Franco misses being your teammate but he misses your attention more.

When he's jealous, Franco becomes incredibly petty. Almost ridiculous. That's why he stops answering to your messages a couple of weeks into the 2025 season. When you see him in person, which isn't as often as it used to be, he's dismissive and avoids you as much as he can. The excuse is that he's too busy and too focused on his job. It's a lie, obviously. He doesn't want to talk to you because he knows he'll mess it up.

And he eventually does. For whatever reason, you're again in the same room for more than five minutes when he can't stop himself from asking you how are you doing. You're happy he's talking to you again, so you answer with a smile on your face. You're doing great; it's a good season so far and Oscar is nice.

"Ah. So you like him."

He tries to be nonchalant as much as he can, but fails miserably. You frown, a bit confused.

"Yeah, sure. He's a great teammate."

He hums.

"I was a great teammate too. So great that you kissed me like three times."

"Excuse me? You kissed me."

"Whatever." Silence. Then he speaks again. "How was it with him, huh? Which one of you made the first move?"

"Oh my god, Franco."

He keeps doing that for, at least, a week. You go back to texting and facetiming like you used to, and every chance he has, he brings Oscar (and your friendship with him) up.

"How's Piastri?" (it's always Piastri for him, first name is not used when Franco mentions Oscar) "You going out with him today?" "Saw that interview... you seem happy together." "Didn't know he has a girlfriend. That won't stop him, though." "Is he better than me?"

Each time you laugh and roll your eyes. You never imagined that Franco could be this jealous and possessive. Not that you dislike it, though. As much as you hate to admit it, you like the attention and you like him. You have fun with his jealousy, even if that makes you feel a little guilty.

That is, until he has the opportunity to drive again because one of the two Alpine drivers can't do it (manifesting) . He's flirting with literally everyone the moment he has the opportunity and, honestly, you hate that. The way he looks and talks to the female reporters makes your blood boil with anger. But you remember that you guys are just friends and you can't do shit about this situation.

After a particular interview with the Spanish reporter he always flirt with (Christine is her name, I think) your revenge is served to you in the easiest way possible. You're having a hard time in McLaren's garage when Oscar sees you and he instantly knows something is wrong. Your eyes are full of tears because you're so mad at Franco, but you can't say a word about it. Oscar knows that you don't want to talk about whatever's troubling you, so he just opens his arms and you literally run into his embrace. The way he holds you resembles to a brother's hug, so fraternal and full of innocent love. His hands roam your back in an effort to stop your cries and you bury your face in his chest. You don't even realise when someone captures the moment in video and uploads it to Instagram.

That day, two tiktoks and insta reels go insanely viral at the same time: Franco shamelessly flirting with the reporter and Oscar hugging you.

What happens next? Guess.

btw, im not waiting a whole week just to see izu///ocha confession, and tbh I dont think hori would spend that energy in it -he didnt before after all. I just think a platonic interpretation opens up the possibilities for closing more arcs -for example, the whole control your heart, the future of heroes and villains, etc.

Doing a confession would actually be too abrupt in my opinion, considering she is here crying over Himiko, this isnt about him and loving him.

btw this doesnt mean im dropping bnha. Im just saying I dont think it makes sense to wait two weeks for a confession of a ship that has not that much development in the first place -and this isnt about time spent with them. Its about emotional investment. Ochako and Himiko dont have the spotlight that much when thinking about all the manga chapters and arcs, however it got a loyal fanbase because the times they are together they are impactful. We didnt even know she was this invested in Toga in those ways, like the lovely smile and liking it ever since she saw it for the first time, until she said it. After only two chapters, they felt like a very beautiful and tragic ship because they care for the other in ways incomparable with others, and their dynamic feels extremely romantic. In another hand, izu//ocha doesnt have that feeling at all even if they have more panels together -there were many ways to connect them in a relevant way, but their moments arent as emotionally charged.

When Ochako jumped to defend Izuku for example; it could have been like that but instead we have her thinking about who saves heroes when focusing on him -this isnt emotional for them together-, and when she talks about smiles, her mind jumps to Himiko crying -this is personal and emotional at the same time. If we had her thinking "who will save villains" for Himiko, it would come out as way less romantic for canon; and if we had her thinking randomly about Izuku like she did at the beginning, with drawings of her face with an embarrassing expression or starting accepting it, it would be more romantic*

Its not that they have nothing in common, or dont care about each other in a meaningful way, its just that Hori decided to focus on other relationships instead of them together. The togachako confrontation in comparison shows us how he can focus on mainly the pair without forgetting about other important characters or feelings -she thought about him, and confessed she fell in love with him, yet it hit me way harder when she remembered her sad smile.

They just are... casual? It doesnt get me invested in them because none of their moments are intimate, I think (I mean Himiko and Ochako feel way closer than Izuku and Ochako even when they share goals and have cute moments, maybe bc some of the themes that hori seemed to introduce in the beginning for them got dropped after Katsuki was chosen to remain as a supportive pillar for Izuku. I hope the phrasing comes out as I intended!)

*I guess the closer to this would be her wishing him to give his best when she was at the helicopter, but personally I dont count it as random because everyone was feeling the same -and Iida is the link to this, narratively speaking. It wasn't her in the helicopter in a different scene with nobody else discussing these topics, neither it was Izuku thinking of this aspect of her on his own. So it doesnt come off as impactful.

there’s my two cents on the five x lila subplot (as always this is my opinion, feel free to disagree)

the season itself is short, 6 episodes compared to the usual 10. that doesn’t give much time to develop characters or plots, and the fact that the subway subplot was thrown in episode 5 feels extremely rushed.

this will be long so everything’s below the cut

do i like the idea of five x lila? absolutely not. was this arc ok in terms of characterization? also no. but, there is a little merit to it (emphasis, little). lila and five are stuck together for 6 years with what seems like no way to get out. they only have themselves BUT this is where the disagreements start; they should’ve and could’ve stayed platonic. btw, i think both five and lila are at fault. lila has diego and her 3 kids, while five knows all this. they both made the (wrong) decision to get together. but also at the same time like. why get with the man who killed ur parents ?

ben and jennifer causing the cleanse is the main idea of the season, yet the ep right before the series finale turns into a whole new idea. if the writers wanted five to discover the deli with different fives, that easily could’ve been in a shorter timeframe. if the writers wanted some angst with lila and diego’s relationship, that also could’ve been done much much differently. lila is an assassin and diego a child forced to be a hero, the whole rift in their marriage is because neither of them are used to domesticity. yet when lila gets lost with five, she seems to be fine settling on a strawberry farm, being fluffy with five, and taking a break from trying to get home. fives character, on the other hand, has always been about how he’s simultaneously too old (mentally) and too young (physically) for love, which is why he had closure with delores, and half the time he’s too busy with apocalypses to care for love with a real person. i feel like most of that got thrown out the window. and it’s basically pedo like in both directions 😭

not to mention, all the aftermath when diego finds out is pointless compared to what’s coming, the cleanse. literally everyone dies, and the whole situation got unresolved as a result. even the argument at christmas dinner in front of both diego’s and lila’s family was not it, it lowk gave me cheesy rom com vibes.

imo, a better way to keep angst in their marriage without cheating is to have more interaction with diego and lila. the whole time she kept on avoiding him. they could’ve resolved the rough patch right at the end, like when diego said “i finally see u” and then the cleanse happens so they never get their happy ending together. in the actual finale, five got jealous and diego was upset and it was very messy.

not to mention that at the time of filming, aidan was 19 and barely a legal adult while ritu was almost 35 ish. the acting industry is so messed up.

My Top 5 Favorite TMNT 2012 Ships

5) Mikey x Renet

I feel we as a fandom has come to an unanimous agreement that all the canon romances/couples given to us in the 2012 series are bad/toxic/poorly written/inc3st/etc with THEM being the only exception (I'll talk about that ship soon), however I think Renetangelo is the other exception.

They’re certainly not perfect with their first problem being Mikey kinda “cheating” on Renet with Shinigami (they weren’t together or officially dating so it’s not cheating, but it still felt wrong that it was never acknowledged that Mikey was pretty much a skirt chaser, crushing on two girls at once), but I still really love their dynamic and relationship. Mikey and Renet are undoubtedly cute together, just two silly goofballs having a fun time and enjoying the other’s company with the occasional flirting and kiss on the cheek (which btw SO CUTE). Renetangelo is that couple that I feel works great both romantically and platonically. If you told me they’re best friends, I’d believe it, if you told me they’re a couple, I’d also believe it. That's how well they work off each other. I'm okay with them being a couple or just being friends.

Season 5 also practically confirms they’re together on two occasions with Mikey saying him and Renet are in a long distance relationship in the When Worlds Collide special, and Renet hinting during the Halloween arc that she and Mikey have some kind of future together.

Overall, I really like Renetangelo and I love seeing these two together. From Mikey's puppy love expressions when he sees her to their overall personalities clashing so well together. This ship is very underrated and needs more love.

4) Slash x Alopex

Yes, this is a ship that exist and I take FULL CREDIT FOR THE CREATION OF THIS COUPLE! I AM THE REASON THIS SHIP IS ALIVE AND SAILING! YOU ARE WELCOME!!

Slash x Alopex (or what I like to call them Slaopex) is my rarepair of the 2012 series and I’m so happy that I’m slowly getting more and more people one board with it. It started off as just a random silly idea of mine, like "What if Slash got a gf?" and then I thought "Well, who could I ship him with?" and then my brain went "What if Slash and Alopex got together? That would be funny". I laughed at the idea, but the more I thought of it, the more I started to like it. I began coming up with headcanons and a story of their relationship, and the more I did that, the more I fell in love with this concept and the potential of this couple. So much that it placed 4th in my top 5!

I fell so in love with them I even ended up writing a short fanfic of how I headcanon they would first meet and the beginning of their blooming romance (you can read it HERE). But in short, Slash runs into Alopex during a late night patrol and helps her beat up some crooks who were attacking her. The two get to talking, sharing a tender moment before parting ways, with Alopex now being the only thing on Slash's mind <3

I also reference this ship a few times in my fanfic Courting a Salamandrian. Consider it a continuation of that little oneshot.

3) Leo x Casey

While everyone else was shipping Jonatello, I was shipping Caseynardo! I was never a fan of Jonatello, I don't hate it, just couldn't get on board nor understand the hype around it, but then one day I stumbled across fanart of Leo x Casey and I thought "Huh... these two actually look cute together!" and quickly sunk into the rabbit hole. Looking up every little bit of fanart, fanfics and edits I could find.

Liking this ship this much for it to be ranked 3rd in my Top 5 favorite TMNT 2012 ships says a lot. This ship really grew on me very quickly, so much so that I wrote a fanfiction on them! I wrote a Caseynardo fanfic before writing a Renetangelo one (you can read it HERE), which is funny cause I've been shipping Renetangelo since the show was airing, and I didn't start liking Caseynardo till long after the show ended! That says a lot about how much these boy effected me! LOL

My whole HC for this ship is that they bonding a lot in season 3 at the farmhouse which led to a mutual romantic attraction. Eventually they secretly date without telling anyone but due to the circumstances and problems going on in Leo’s life, he was unable to keep the relationship going. They agree to just be friends, which Casey promising to wait for him. It’s basically the “right person, wrong time” trope. But I like to headcanon that by season 5, Leo and Casey finally get together officially and made their relationship known to everyone else. The only one not surprised was Raphael who knew about those two since day one, cause he was stuck being their third wheel/wingman XD

2) Karai x Shinigami

I will NEVER forgive Nickelodeon for be too cowardly to make this happen. They'd rather ship inc3st and force Shini to be straight than give us our goth kunoichi lesbians. For shame, Nickelodeon... For shame...

Not to mention that one of the writers of the show, Peter Di Cicco, shipped them! Calling them his "OTP" and referring to Shini as "Karai's girlfriend", and even pitching an alternate ending to the series where Splinter and Shredder make up but the only thing they fight over now is who gets to walk Karai down the aisle during her wedding to Shinigami XD

The moment I saw Shinigami, I instantly thought "Oh that's a lesbian and she and Karai are a thing". I really love their dynamic, their friendship and the potential they have in being a cute couple of childhood friends to lovers. You can see how much they care about each other. The fury in Shini's voice when she confronts Super Shredder, "I will destroy you, Monster! For everything you have done to Karai!". Shini is supportive of Karai and is always the one down to start chaos with you. Makes me wish we could've learned more about these two and their history. I like to think they've known each other since they were little, being childhood friends while training and growing up in The Foot Clan.

My personal headcanon is that Shinigami has had a crush on Karai since they were young, like preteens, and is so loyal to her and willing to help Karai not just because she is her best friend but also because she loves her. However, she is scared to tell Karai how she really feels because she's worried she won't reciprocate and it'll ruin their long time friendship. Luckily, Mikey is there for support!

1) Raphael x Mona Lisa

What have I not already said about RaMona? If you follow me then you know full well that these two are my life. I’ve written multiple fanfics based on them on AO3 (LINK HERE) and have done a few analysis posts about them as well here on Tumblr. They have consumed my life. I love them so much!

Overall, I believe they are the healthiest ship the series offered us, and the best one in canon. I know some complain that they were rushed and how they got together too quickly, but in truth I can understand why Raph and Mona got into a relationship as quickly as they did. They are both warriors with the mindset of "I might die tomorrow" so it makes sense they'd be open and honest about their feelings right from the start just in case something happens to either one of them in battle. You only live once, you know? And I like how open Raph is when it comes to his feelings for Mona. From the very start, the moment he realized he liked her, never once did he deny it. Even when his brothers and friends laughed or scolded him, Raph proudly admitted he likes her with no ounce of shame. Mikey even points out that Mona is "bigger, stronger and a better fighter" than Raph and him responding by saying "Exactly! What a woman..." The boy does not care that she will be the pants in their relationship. He loves that she's stronger than him, bigger than him, a better fighter than him. We even see how excited he gets when she suggests training with him someday. Not to mention how we also learn in the show that these two have written love letters to each other during the course of the season 4 space adventures. Their personailties clash so well together. Both being strong willed warriors who put their loved ones first. Both can be stubborn and jump to conclusions quickly. We even see that Mona can have a short temper much like Raph. Both are ready to kick some ass with anyone who talks shit (Raph defending Mona but then Mona defending herself *chef's kiss*)

It's not talked about often among the fandom/shippers, but the fact that Mona is as much in love with Raph as he is with her is what truly makes this ship great. While the other 2012 ships make it unclear (writing wise) if the love interest truly feels the exact same way towards her Turtle she's shipped with, but for Mona her feelings are obvious. She's the one who makes the first move during all of their kisses/nose nuzzles, she's the one to say "I love you" first" and do I have to remind y'all of the push up scene? XD

These two are obsessed with one another. You can tell and see just how in love they are with one another. Even with only appearing in about 4-5 episodes, they truly left a major impact on shipping in this fandom. I feel it has come to a unanimous agreement that this ship is the best (canon) couple this show gave us. I love them, I love their relationship, I love what these two have done for the show and this fandom. They were able to bring back a classic ship from the 87 series and add so much more to them! I hope we get to see more of this couple in future generations. They certainly aren't a perfect couple, they got their flaws too, but overall they are truly the best couple in the 2012 series. <333

- Anna Zhu is straight

-Bonnie Bennett I think she is pansexual, though if you asked her, she would shrug and not really have an answer for you, it’s all about who she has a spark with. I think she finds people hot, but it's the connection that sparks trues attraction. And she finds people more attractive once a spark occurs.

- Cami is a proud bisexual. Rip she would have loved pride week and she would have bi flags up in Rousseau’s

- Caroline Forbes took me a while to figure out. Admittedly I first believed she was one of the straight friends, but I don’t actually think this. I think she may be bisexual, possibly comphet (and not in a extreme internalize homephobic way—though I assume she saw how people treated both her parents and definitely has a fear of being judged) just she also is someone who thrives being in a relationship and I think her fear of being alone means she doesn’t really experiment that often. I also think she loves being approached first (chosen) and she grew up in Virginia in the early 2000s where she wasn’t asked out by many women my guess. I imagine in the fics where it takes her and Klaus decades or centuries to get over their shit and finally get together, she would become aware she is also into woman in that in between--but in the ones where they get together pretty quickly I don't think she would. It's really about situation for her tbh.

-Damon Salvatore is a complicated character. Because on one hand I would love to be like “ha ha only straight guy… and you suck” to him, but one; I have headcanons of others just being straight, nor do I think that’s an sign of terribleness (even if I am guilty of doing that to the one not-great character present, I am from the MHA fandom, and if you know, you know). But Damon is complicated, because he has a such an odd relationship with sex and people have such an odd relationship with sex with him (someone did a great analysis, where they realized that no one but him says he is great at sex and those who have had it with him honestly tell him he’s bad at it— he probably doesn’t enjoy it much himself, and yet the dude is the king of self destruction). But he is so internalized homophobic frat boy vibes (and occasionally outwardly? Like he canonical has the most homophobic lines, which of course Julie and co gave those lines to him 🙄). Damon also clings to the face of one woman for over a century, a woman who is, to him, locked in a tomb, he maybe has a one night stand with Sage in that time, a female character who is more on the masculine side. Then he gets infatuated with another (at the time) doomed relationship with the girl whom his brother is with after he realizes Katherine wasn’t going to want him (which really tells you how fast he switched loves tells you he didn’t really love Katherine). When he is with Elena, he consistently pushing her away, and when they are together, it's always after he did something bad or when it feels impossible. Is Damon gay? I don’t know. But I don’t think he likes women. He’s a character who honestly hates women, he hates them so much, and it really does seem deeper than just being misogynistic (and when he is being misogynistic it’s never consistent). His best relationships with woman were the ones that are platonic, those being Rose and Bonnie, and even Liz. I struggle with Damon, because it really would be easier to be like “ha ha you are straight (derogatory)” and leave it at that because oh boy do I hate him, but also I want my head canons and writing to still retain some nuance. Uh oh… I wasted so much time writing about Damon.

- Davina I see as straight. But I don’t remember much about her tbh.

-Elena Gilbert! Another tricky character! I think she is straight, but not in a labeled way. I think she is the kind of person who isn’t opposed to finding love anywhere, but she’s only ever been attracted to guys this far and she determines that she is straight. If anything I think she is really drawn to people who are caring and have a right and wrong code (even if it isn’t a code that is strictly good or evil, but people who have lines they don’t cross, and convictions), but also people she can learn about. She wants substance. I do think she is a victim of manipulation with Damon, and that did change things for her. But I think at the end of the day she is someone who is attracted to complexity and conviction. Though I do think she considers herself straight, but doesn’t see labels as permanent markers either.

-Elijah is demiromantic and demisexual. I don’t think I need to say more tbh.

- Enzo is a straight man, but I recently discovered him with Kol as a ship and I do love it.

- Finn is a straight man I think. But only because he is so devoted to Sage, he isn’t about to think about other possibilities.

- Freya is a lesbian all the way. Like I can’t see her with a man. Yes I hear Lucien’s sobs in the distance too.

- Hayley depends on the fic. I actually have been really vibing with the concept of Hayley/Cami and idk why, so for no reason I think Hayley is bi.

- Jeremy gives straight vibes, but again depends on the fic. I have read a good Jeremy/Kol fic, so I can be convinced otherwise.

- Jenna is bisexual. I don’t think I need to argue this.

- Jo is straight

- Katherine Pierce has zero preferences, just that they be hot.

- Klaus doesn’t care about labels either, and has no gender preferences either. I don’t think he’s demiromantic, because he fell for Caroline fast.

- Kol… yeah he’s the same as above, he really doesn’t care what gender or sex a person is. (edit: Writing this has taught me, he ascends sexuality so much that he can change my normal headcanons).

- Liz Forbes, I think she is a straight. Caleb keeps going on about his dead wife so he might not be keen to remarry yet... and Wayne's line about Miguel losing to an old lady stuck out because did he really? but my thought from that was that Amanda and Caleb could've formalised their relationship like no other characters had so far. they're both on the older side of the cast, so deliberating on it is a bit different than younger characters. in s1 they already seemed like they just wanted to settle down together. so would they be happy? I don't know... I'm doubtful for Amanda's sake, I think she's trying but Caleb is just not putting in the work. these two actually have feelings for each other but I believe in this less than some of the lavender marriages. I just need to see Caleb trying because he's the same after the first season as he was back then... not really encouraging and I never want to consign Amanda to this but I'm not making the choice

"Kaito and Kokichi hate each other!!!!!" we all blink slowly. not even a whisper of applause or praise is heard. A tumbleweed passes by. Jhon coughs.

They don't 'hate' each other. They had different views about truth and lies, got into a few arguments, etc. etc. but not once did they outright "despise" each other like the poster said. Kaito praises Kokichi's dedication to the plan after the 5th trial, not to mention fully dedicates himself to it. When Kokichi is dosed with strike 9 poison, Kaito withholds his usual aggressiveness and hears him out. If this is someone you despised so much, someone you'd go to the ends of the world just to see suffer, why in your right mind would you do all this?

They mentioned that oumota is "oooh abusiveeee because, because they HIT each other!!!!" okay. First of all, under most circumstances where Kaito instigated the violence, Kokichi was clearly egging him on, encouraging it, leading him to snap. A hot-headed person such as Kaito is bound to react like that when the other mocks the death of their recently deceased classmates. And in the case of Kokichi's violence, it was self defence. Excessive all the same, but still self defence.

Also, they mention how toxic and awful the 'enemies to lovers' trope is? I don't think I really need to expand on how silly that sounds. First, they're not enemies, second, enemies to lovers can be a perfectly healthy and wholesome type of relationship?

The cherry on top of the cake. It's clear they've never once touched a playthrough or the game, or even a simple run-through, because they claim "Kaito called Kokichi a slur!!".

Everyone falls into deathly silence. It's so overwhelming it *would* drown out the sound of a pin dropping to the floor. Awkward shuffles of limbs can be seen, but they don't produce noise. Everyone's faces are collectivley flushed by how embarrassing the situation is.

... That's kiyo. Not Kokichi. If you're going to make a rant, know your facts. At least play, like, key parts of the trials.

Anyways, I'm not even the biggest Oumota fan and I know this is absolute childish, uneducated bullshit from someone who hasn't bothered to put more than one half-baked thought into what they're discussing. They see one show of violence between the two and suddenly everyone who supports the romantic or even platonic pairing between the two is suddenly Satan themselves. One of the worst parts about growing up is that you’re not really able to do some things anymore. Things like playing on playgrounds, playing with toys or having slumber parties at your friend’s houses aren’t as fun or socially acceptable. Those are things that Nozomi reminisces about occasionally. But what she reminisces about the most is her time being a Pretty Cure.

Those two years may have been a long time ago, but they were truly the highlight of her life. She wouldn’t be the person she is today if it weren’t for them. She often wishes she could experience them once more.

But she’s never wished that more than she was now.

Clouds of dust enveloped the scene of destruction in front of her. Rubble flew in all directions, causing Nozomi to run into a nearby alley for safety. It was a smart move, as right when she did, a large chunk of concrete crashed into her previous spot. The culprit of this incident was a monster in the form of a traffic cone. It very much resembled the Kowaina and Hoshina she used to battle in her early teenage years.

Nozomi had no clue what to do. She knew that this was a job for the Pretty Cure, but she wasn’t one anymore. She hasn’t been in over twelve years! Her eyes darted around, desperately looking for a pink butterfly to come and allow her to transform. But there was none.

Right as her heart sank in despair, a figure swooped past her. Hoping that it was what she was looking for, she exited the alley, following its direction. However, she quickly realized it was an idiotic choice, considering there was still rubble flying everywhere. A particularly large piece came falling towards her, making her raise her arms over her head as a weak defense mechanism.

Just as she prepared herself for the blow, a crash and a grunt was heard from in front of her.

“Are you alright ma’am?” A boy’s voice called out. Nozomi opened her eyes, and froze.

In front of her was you; a young boy. But it wasn’t you alone that shocked her, it was what you were wearing. It looked very similar to what she wore as a Pretty Cure all those years ago. Also, the crumbled bits on the ground implied that you had crushed the large piece of rubble that nearly crashed into her. No normal person has that strength.

“You’re a… Pretty Cure?” Nozomi asked without thinking.

You gasped in surprise, revealing to her that she was correct. You opened your mouth to speak, but you were interrupted by a call.

“Cure Dream!”

Cure Dream.

Nozomi gasped at the mention of her former Pretty Cure name. The one she hadn’t heard in years. But judging by the way you responded by turning in the voice’s direction, it was now your name.

Before she could ask any further questions, you placed your hands on her shoulders. “Please, you have to get out of here!”

Nozomi didn’t say anything, but nodded. She then bolted back to her previous hiding spot. Though, she peeked from behind the brick wall, just to see what you were going to do.

You landed a hard kick to the monster, making it tumble to the ground. It didn’t even get a chance to get up, as you kicked it again.

“Dream, now!” The voice called out again. Nozomi could see who it was this time, though. It was a small fairy, standing on a nearby bench. It resembled a flying squirrel, and had tan fur. She assumed they were from the Palmier Kingdom.

“Alright!” You said, then began powering up.

Nozomi’s mouth hung open in shock, as she remembered the exact movements you were doing. It was her attack.

“Pretty Cure! Shooting Star!” You called out. The attack hit the monster square in the face. Not a second later, it disappeared, only leaving a normal traffic cone behind.

You both watched as your surroundings changed back to normal. It was as if no destruction had happened at all.

“You did it Dream!” The small fairy cheered. Though you ignored them, instead, looking around. “What’s wrong?” They asked.

“Someone knew I was a Pretty Cure.” You said, still looking.

“What? But no one knows what the Pretty Cure are!”

“I do.” Nozomi called out, emerging from her hiding spot. You and the fairy turned to her, shock and confusion written on your faces.

“My name is Nozomi Yumehara.” She introduced herself. She walked up to you, kneeling down just a bit to meet your height. “And around twelve years ago, I was a Pretty Cure, just like you.”

You gasped, absolutely speechless. But it seemed that the fairy wasn’t. “Nozomi? No way! You’re the Cure Dream of the past!”

She chuckled. “Yes, I was.” She reached down, and pet the little creature’s head. “And what’s your name?”

“Cinnamon!” She responded. She got down on all fours, bowing to Nozomi. “It’s such an honor to meet you!” She tapped your foot, signaling for you to bow as well. You did, putting your hands to your sides, and leaning down.

“Oh please, you don’t have to do that!” She blushed a bit, and scratched the back of her neck bashfully. “I can’t believe there’s a new Pretty Cure! And you’re a boy too! I didn’t know there could be boy Cures. That’s amazing!”

“Heh, yeah. I guess all the past ones were girls.” You said. You then de-transformed, revealing your true self to Nozomi. “But anyway, I’m (full name).” You laughed, and stuck out your hand for her to shake, to which she happily did. But only for a few seconds, as she suddenly gasped, and stopped.

“Wait! If there’s a new Pretty Cure, that must mean that Palmier Kingdom’s in danger again! What’s going on?” She panicked.

“Oh, yes! There’s a new threat to the kingdom! That’s why King Coco and King Nuts sent me to find new Pretty Cures!” Cinnamon responded.

“Oh no! What’s the threat?”

“We’re not exactly sure. All we know is that the palace was attacked, and an ominous note was left! And after that, monsters began appearing here!”

“Yeah. I only became a Pretty Cure yesterday. It all happened so fast. And I don’t even know what to do to find the others…” You said, clearly a bit stressed.

Nozomi smiled gently, and placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. “Hey, it’ll be alright. Besides, I know a thing or two about being a Pretty Cure. So how about I help you out?”

“No way!” Cinnamon gasped. “(name), Nozomi wants to be your mentor! You cannot pass up this opportunity!”

“Really? You’ll teach me everything?” You asked.

“Of course! It’s my job as the old Cure Dream to help out the new one!” She said.

“Thank you so much Miss Yumehara!” You bowed yet again, this time much lower to show even more gratitude and respect.

Nozomi chuckled. “It’s no problem. Now come on, I know a building by a lake we can use as a sort of ‘headquarters’.” She said, and began leading you all to the mentioned destination.

Nozomi knew that she’d never be able to be a Pretty Cure ever again. The introduction of a new generation of Cures further proved that. However, she discovered that while she may not be able to transform and fight, she can still help out. And that’s just what she was going to do.

I was really really excited to write this, honestly.

It is VERY important that you read the CW on this one.

I might be working through some things I personally went through on this one, so it’s… darker than I’d normally go.

Lots of hurt and little comfort.

Parts of this feel kinda rushed to me, and there’s one part where that is on purpose. But, uh. Not a fan of the ending of this bc it’s late and I’m sleepy. But also I don’t wanna edit this or dwell on it or it won’t get posted at all. So. This is where we are.

After the night that Nancy called their relationship bullshit, Steve had sworn off alcohol and any drug stronger than the weed he used to help himself sleep when he was home alone. And he had been able to stick to it, too.

Until Starcourt.

When he had nearly been killed by Russians, confessed his love to a lesbian (while he, himself was mostly gay), and saw Billy Hargrove murdered by some thing from the Upside Down.

Yeah, life was pretty fucked up. And if he found solace at the bottom of a bottle, that was his problem.

No one but Robin needed to know. That girl was his Platonic soulmate and she got to know practically everything. Hell, he had lost track of how many times they had slept in the same bed, just so they could know the other was still breathing. They clung so tight to each other that it was like they were trying to nestle into rib cages and grasp onto bones so that they couldn’t be ripped apart again.

It helped with the nightmares and the panic to have someone so close to him who understood. Someone who knew what he went through without him having to explain it. Someone who knew that the fire cover up was complete shit. Someone who wasn’t a kid that he had to protect and hide his pain from.

Don’t get him wrong, he loved those kids. He would die for them. He’d kill for them. He’d wreck the beautiful car of his dreams for them. He’d even pretend to be okay for them, no matter what. But he could never confide in them. Not about what he went through. Not the way he could with Robin.

The thing about trauma bonding with someone is that there doesn’t have to be secrets. They already knew the worst thing that you have been through, so everything else would be a cakewalk by comparison.

During the day, it was easy to be goofy and laugh and hide the fact that he had been through absolute hell. But at night, everything came back to him. Him screaming that he just worked for Scoops and not being believed. Him offering free ice cream for life, just to get out of there.

Offering his body when that didn’t work because he didn’t have anything else and he knew his parents wouldn’t pay a ransom, even if the Russians had decided to try that route. And if they took him up on that offer, no one had to know. He didn’t even have to know. He could just pretend that the drugs took those memories too and not think about it.

The night time was what had him drinking again. The sun would start setting and he’d find himself reaching for that bottle, as though he needed it as desperately as he needed air and open spaces.

Even when Robin was over, he couldn’t close the door before taking a shower. Though, that didn’t matter much, when she’d go sit on the toilet and talk to him, with nothing but a curtain between them as the water poured over him and he sobbed as silently as he could while he cleaned himself and she chatted away about some random thing that he couldn’t follow, no matter how hard he tried. On particularly bad nights, Robin would find him in the shower, and wearing his t-shirt and shorts, she would help him wash his hair, his body, while he could only lean against the wall, feeling as though he would shake himself apart.

But, he needed to get better. He couldn’t be a mess forever. He couldn’t rely on his best friend always being available to help him through the rough patches. Most people would see the therapist recommended to them after going through things like The Upside Down and days of torture at the hands of Russians in a base under the mall that they used to work in.

Not Steve.

Oh, no.

That made too much sense.

Instead of therapy, he decided that going to a gay club in Indy would be a great idea. It had been long enough that his injuries had turned to scars. Sure, his ears rang a lot and sometimes his vision went a little fuzzy if he turned his head too fast, but he was fine. Really.

He had called and told Robin where he’d be. He didn’t need her panicking because she went to his house and he wasn’t there. He also called Henderson, just to make sure one of the kids knew he wasn’t home. They all talked constantly so the message would get around.

Just because he was stupid, didn’t mean he was irresponsible.

Steve was dressed in his favorite jeans, the ones that made his ass look nice, and a yellow polo. He didn’t really have many options in terms of shirts because it was almost time to do laundry again. He hated the washer though, as he still had times when his ribs panged when he tried to lean over too far. With that stupid washer, he always had to lean too far. There was no other way to make sure he got everything out of it.

He took the time to style his hair properly, even when the effort made his arms shake and the muscles in his hands and wrists spasm. Being tortured had some lasting effects and it was annoying. He was so tired of it. Tired of being forced to remember what he went through, even while doing the most mundane things.

He flipped the collar on his shirt up to try and make sure that the scars on his neck weren’t too obvious at first glance. That was as good as it was going to get as he refused to wear makeup to cover it up.

Then, he walked out to his car after locking the front door. Here goes nothing. He slid into the car that he hadn’t actually driven in a few weeks and started her up. She purred as though it was only yesterday that she was last turned on.

Steve mouthed the directions to himself before buckling up, turning on the radio, and beginning the drive.

Time passed, though he wasn’t sure how much of it. But he did get to the club without incident. He parked his car and locked the door before putting the keys in his pocket.

His favorite thing about this place was that they didn’t ID, something that he remembered from when he had came here before Starcourt. He had just wanted to dance with fellow queers. The first few times that he was here, he had been given water when he went to the bar.

He was glad to find that this time the bartender asked him what he’d be drinking. He was glad that the blond with curly hair and a charming smile didn’t even bat an eye over his request for a shot of whiskey, and just poured the drink.

“First one’s on the house.” God, even his voice was charming.

“Thank you,” Steve replied gratefully.

He threw the drink back and didn’t even make a face over it. The familiar, warm burn of the alcohol was a welcome one.

“How much for the second?” He asked, a slight smile tugging at his lips.

“For you? A dollar a shot.”

Steve placed a 10 dollar bill down. “One shot and one mixed drink that would leave you with what you consider an acceptable tip.”

“Yessir,” the bartender replied with a smile.

It wasn’t fair that the older male had ocean eyes he could get lost in.

Steve took the shot like nothing again, running a hand through his hair. He thanked the bartender, again, before taking his mixed drink and moving to the dance floor.

He was having fun. There were a lot of people and loud music and he had some liquid courage that was also helping to keep his chronic pain under control. After a few songs, he finished his drink before going to take his glass to the bar.

He was dizzy, but he just assumed that was from turning his head too fast a few minutes ago when someone started dancing behind him. He told himself that it had just been because he wanted to know if the guy pressing against his back was cute or not. (He was.)

Steve’s thoughts were incoherent, but he had moments when his brain didn’t seem to work right, especially when he was under the influence. It was his new normal ever since his brain had been starved of oxygen. But he couldn’t think about that again. Not now.

He asked the bartender for water, noticing the name tag this time. Billy. Oh, the painful irony.

He drank it down pretty fast, fully intending to thank him for it after. But then there was an arm around his shoulder and he was moving on to help someone on the other side of the bar.

“Hey there, big guy,” the other male said while squeezing his shoulder.

“You aren’t Eddie,” he said stupidly. It was in that moment that Steve realized who he had a crush on, but that wasn’t important right now.

“I can be whoever you want me to be, handsome.”

Steve pulled away. “I’m sorry, but no. You really can’t.”

“Okay, I’m sorry. That was a bad joke. Eddie sent me to take you home.”

“He wouldn’t have sent anyone to get me.” He said defiantly. “He’d come himself,” he added to cover up whatever he had said.

The world was spinning worse and he turned to walk to the bathroom. He was being followed and he knew it, but what other choice did he have?

By the time Steve got to the bathroom, he was mostly out of it. But, he got flashes.

His pants being unbuttoned.

Trying to struggle but it was just so hard to lift his arms.

Being shoved against the counter.

Heavy breathing in his ear.

Pain.

Sliding down.

Curling into a ball.

Clutching his own shirt.

Eddie.

When Steve woke up again, the first thing he noticed was that he was in the trailer. The second thing he noticed was that he felt like shit. Everything hurt more than it should for just a hangover, and he didn’t even want to think about why his hips and thighs felt the way they did.

He tried to sit up, groaning over the effort before letting himself lay back down on the couch. The toilet flushed, the water ran, and then there were footsteps coming back toward him. He didn’t know why he flinched and tried to hide in the blanket he had over him, but he did.

“Hey there, big boy,” Eddie said softly.

Steve whimpered. He wasn’t sure why he didn’t like being called that anymore. It was something that the older male had called him ever since they started getting friendly. Ever since he had started buying weed from him.

“Wanna talk about it, Steve?” He added.

He shook his head.

“Why’d the bartender call me when he found you instead of Robin? Don’t get me wrong, I’m flattered that you thought I was safe.”

“I don’t know. Was kinda falling apart. I guess I wanted drugs more than…”

“More than your girlfriend?”

Steve snorted. “She’s my Platonic soulmate. Capital P. Not my girlfriend.”

Eddie tilted his head. “Want me to call the soulmate?”

Steve shook his head quickly before groaning and holding his temples. “My car?” He croaked.

“I took Jeff with me to pick you up. He drove ‘er back. Your car is in my driveway, safe and sound.”

Steve made a sound and let his eyes close.

“Steve. I’m not going to make any choices for you. But you were assaulted. The only reason that bartender didn’t call the police was that he didn’t want to out you.”

His eyes fluttered. “That… that explains it.” His body chose that moment to let him pass out again.

When he was conscious again, he was still on Eddie’s couch. He could hear the other male talking on the phone. He did his best to pretend that he was still asleep. But he was crying and the sniffling gave him away.

“Hey man, do you want Robin to come here?”

“No,” he said too quickly. “I just… I need a bit to comprehend. Tell her an hour, yeah? Then I’ll go with her and get out of your hair.”

Eddie relayed the message and hung up.

“He drugged me. But I still knew what was up. He flirted with me, but I wasn’t interested. I said he wasn’t you as though I had some kind of right to want it to be you who was flirting, man. I’m sorry.”

“Why are you sorry?” Of course it was only the apology that Eddie picked up on.

“Because I have no right to have a crush on you after how I treated you. Because I have no right to tell you that I have a crush on you after what happened to me.”

“If that’s how you feel, then I have no right to tell you that the feeling is mutual and that I have every intention of finding the guy who did this to you and making him pay. I have no right to feel so possessive and protective. I have no right to tell you that I always run away, but right now I just want to fight for you.”

“Mm. You’re right. We have no right to be having this conversation when it’s too much for me.”

Eddie was about to get up.

“Hold me?” Steve asked so quietly.

And his request was honored so gently. He might have been whimpering and flinching, but that didn’t stop him from grabbing the older male’s shirt and clinging to it.

When Robin barged into the trailer, exactly sixty-one minutes later, Steve flinched and his hands gripped on to Eddie’s knees tightly.

Eddie was sitting sideways on the couch, his legs spread so that Steve could be seated between them. His back was against the older male’s chest and his hands had been playing with the loose threads over Eddie’s knees before he was startled. Eddie had been trying to braid Steve’s too short hair as they listened to some music that neither male was paying enough attention to in order to place.

As soon as he saw his best friend, he was struggling to his feet before stumbling over to her with all the grace of a newborn giraffe.

“R-Robbie.”

“Stevie.”

“I shouldn’t have gone.”

“Hey, don’t blame yourself.”

They were clinging to each other, both of them shaking.

“Promised to never leave you again.”

“It’s okay. We’ll get through this. Also, Eddie is driving us home because I refuse to let go of you.”

“I am?”

“You are.”

“And then you’re staying, too.” Steve added.

“I am.” There was a smile to Eddie’s voice at that.

Despite everything, Steve liked him and felt safe with him. Hopefully Eddie would never do anything to break that.
