the interview in question that anon is talking abt in this one, in which he effectively says he won't confirm or deny ichiruki becoming canon, when like anon says, he could've easily stated the outcome, and said no. As since like you guys like to say, ichihime was meant to be canon from the start. So lol, its not a rumour at all, yall should do ur research before shutting down statements like that.

The interview you brang up isn't wrong, but kubo later states this in other interview about fade to black, the report of Kubo’s interview in the Jump Festa is this:

Naming the original characters from Rukia’s point of view was very difficult.

In which kubo replies: the relashionship between ichigo and rukia, the change in their own feelings.

So consider this statement, kubo had nothing against romantic ichiruki, and even promoted and displayed support for romantic ichiruki on platforms like twitter. Which is strange considering the claim that kubo always intended for ichihime to be Canon.

when Kubo was still on Twitter, he had: - Retweeted IR Valentine candies- Liked an IR love AMV- Liked many IRs' tweets (with one said "they are so romantic together" and another called Rukia "a bright sun" to Ichigo/Zangetsu).

There's more, like how in this explanation to this very planotic colourspread, he states they're in resort clothes. Rukia, ichigo, alone, at a resort together, is basically what it was. Which was a strange thing to produce for two charecters who he sees as strictly planotic, wouldnt u agree?

(Its even worse when u consider how our canon couple, who has held that title for 7 yrs as of now, has yet to get that same treatment from kubo.)

Anyways my point is, kubo has shown nothing but support towards romantic ichiruki. And has even came out to show more support for it and promote it more than he ever has with our canon couples. The interview u brang up was kubo talking abt the current state of ichirukis relashionship. As proven in his later interview, stating how he wants fans to focus on ichirukis change of feelings towards one another.

So yeah, kubo has never apposed ichiruki romantically and has gone out of his way to show support for it over the years.

Why did Kubo say he would not confirm or deny whether IR would end up together in an interview instead of shutting down the conversation. He added fuel to the shipping fire.

From what I remember, that was just a rumor IR fans were spreading around on their forums. Kubo effectively shut down speculation on an IR romance in the 2008 Fade to Black interview, in which he said:

I'm so sorry!

This is in response to my last post that is now deleted but it was about Kevin can f himself and I said that i didn't like the show because Allison could leave, she just doesn't want to (this was based off the library scene). After someone commented (and rewatching the show) I realize that although technically she could leave, the real question is where?

All her friends, family and even DOCTOR know Kevin and if they found out they would all prob go searching for her before the days end and we know this because when she didn't answer her phone he called the police on her not because he was worried but only to report it as stolen.

In my last post I had only finished s1 (I posted literally right after the finale) and I was under the impression that because he wasn't hitting her she could leave, and that she was an idiot for not taking sam's offer and "WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT OMGOMG" but I now realize thats not always the case in abusive relationships. Abuse doesn't have to be extremely violent for it to be abuse.

When she dumped Sam it wasn't because she didn't want to leave Kevin, its that she knew she couldn't and I think that's the most terrifying and important message in the show. its not meant to justify her actions, its meant to show the desperation of someone in this situation and how they (no matter how hard they try) cannot just leave

Also a friendly reminder that not only is it pride month, but it is also National Indigenous History Month in Canada!! There are lots of LGBTQ Indigenous people out there, and lots of indigenous culture-aligned identities and traditions that could 100% be seen as queer were deemed “sinful” by colonizers and attempts to wipe them out from culture and history were made. Lots of Indigenous people and nations are still working to reignite and recover traditions, practices, and teachings that colonizers attempted to destroy, and there are also lots of 2-spirit and LGBTQ indigenous people just trying to get by overall.

Remember to give them your support as well; I am proud of being LGBTQ but I find that pride month sometimes overshadows National Indigenous History Month and lots of LGBTQ BIPOC voices are drowned out by white LGBTQ people. We are all deserving of the same respect and opportunities that non-BIPOC people get, so remember to be respectful to Indigenous people this month as well (this should be true all year but sometimes people need a reminder). There are lots of charities you can find online focused on supporting LGBTQ Indigenous people and revitalizing queer Indigenous culture, and there are also lots of individual LGBTQ Indigenous people with open commissions online or with donation links that you can help out, and you could change someone’s day entirely by ensuring they have enough money for food or rent or medicine.

Overall, to my fellow Indigenous LGBTQ+ people, I hope this month is kind to you <3 remember to take pride in who you are.
