"Rob and Jul are in love, Karen, neither of them has to 'convince' the other of anything. And frankly, Robin doesn't seem to me like the kind of guy who needs alien powers to get a girl."

"Juliette has been head over heels in love with him from day one; and Rob with her, that's more than obvious. Why would he need to control her? It doesn't make sense. As for 'probing' and 'impregnating'… Well, she already has a child with him, why would he want to…? "Aaaalright. That's it, I get your point," Karen cut to him.

"Still, I think we should tell her what's going on before she sees him next Saturday." "No, none of that. We don't want to ruin Rowan's registration". "Maybe it will be best for him'. "Nope, Jul has been looking forward to this, let her go on with her plan, I'm pretty sure she and Row will be safe". "O-okay, I hope it's really the right thing to do." "It is, I'm sure. ok talking about carlos again because i cant get over this line from e188

There is police tape all over the door, lots of signs saying “WARNING: SCIENCE” and “CURIOSITY FORBIDDEN”. Lots of old police tape, peeling and layered on top of each other.

because it really reads as the SSP plastering over the lab door every night, and every morning carlos has to tear thru the tape to get inside. that this has been going on for so long he doesnt bother throwing it away anymore.

from the investigators:

Cecil: Hi, I’m so sorry to bother you, but I’ve received some bad news from the Secret Police. Carlos: Ugh. I knew this would eventually happen.

from it devours:

The council had hissed. “You were told to drop this. Our patience is limited.” “So you have been disrupting my experiments with this rumbling under the earth?” “Foolish scientist. Seeker of truth. You think you are the only one interested in that house? There are many who seek to exploit the power it holds.” “What power? What people?” “We have said too much. We should devour you. But there are influential members of the media protecting you, and it wouldn’t be worth the grief we’d get from them. Flee while you have your life.”

despite how long hes been here, and despite how night valean he's become, hes still in a never ending battle against the SSP and the city council

we, the audience, only perceive carlos as a fully integrated citizen, the hero scientist, because that's how cecil sees him. carlos is very much not welcome here and the SSP and the city council are actively trying sabotage him. what carlos does he does IN SPITE OF night vale
