The Higuri Regalia - proud allies of Abbiocco Fine Dining - is pleased to announce the return of: The Mythril Showcase!
As a refresher to those uninitiated: this fashion show was created during the twilight days of Menphina Madness to provide the frequenters of the Etheirys Blitzball League an opportunity to show off their acumen in style outside of the Blitzsphere. Since then, Thiji Higuri - the merchant-lord and fashion nabob himself - has tested the skill and daring of haute couture hopefuls through various themes.
This time, The Regalia will be teaming up with Abbiocco Fine Dining ( https://abbiocco.carrd.co/ ) to provide an exclusive venue that will open with a sneak-peek of the upcoming clothing line! Select outfits from this arcane collection will be showcased only during this night, and will not be seen or sold anywhere else until the official release of the line. So don't miss out!
(Additional information will be provided closer to the event date!)
With two successful shows now under the Regalia's belt, the deciding of the next theme was opened to the public via poll to give proper closure to this turn; now the results have finally arrived. The theme for the third Mythril Showcase will be: "Kingdoms of the Far East." This inspiration takes from the popularized culture and history of Othard, namely during its warring periods in Hydaelyn's timeline. (TRANSLATION: this cosplay contest is based off the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Warriors Orochi series)
Those who wish to participate are welcome, and will be handsomely rewarded with a glamour weapon of their choosing for their efforts. This time, however, there is a twist: as there were warring factions during ancient times, so, too, will there be specific glamour weapons tailored to them! They are detailed below:
Wei: Knights of the Round/Susano
Wu: Rubellux/Tsukuyomi
Shu: Smaragdine/Shinryu
Jin: Fae's Crown
Other: Warring Triad (Sephirot/Sophia/Zurvan)
Samurai: Four Lords (Seiryu/Suzaku/Byakko)
Orochi: Hades/Seeing Horde
(NOTE: If the faction of the character you are portraying as does not contain your desired glamour weapon, you are allowed to choose from another category. It is advised you do your research beforehand to prevent confusion.)
The top four winners will receive far more greater prizes:
4th Place Winner: An assortment of Pixie, Archangel, and Statice's Wings!
3rd Place Winner: An Island Adenium Whistle!
2nd Place Winner: A Shishioji Flute!
1st Place Winner: A Voucher of the Higuri!
(Translation: a commission of your character in the desired outfit will be made!)
(Note: Additional prizes may also be given depending on the quantity of participants!)
The event will take place on Friday, December 22nd at 7PM EST (Doors open an hour prior) - the day of the Winter Solstice! The location: Abbiocco Fine Dining in the Goblet, Ward 14, Plot 35 (Diabolos World). Whether you wish to spectate, or show off your own Power in Beauty, all are welcome to attend!
Contestants will be judged based on a variety of categories on a 1-to-10 scale. For the sake of fairness, these criteria will be made known to all. They are as follows:
-Emulation: Cosplaying - as accurately as possible - a certain character from a particular source of media (game/show/movie, etc.)
-Adherence: Remaining within the scope of the theme.
-Embellishment: Complimenting your outfit with accessories and other small details.
-Stage Presence: Your ability to “strut your stuff” via actions or emotes.
-Reception: How well you command the audience’s excitement and attention.
*-Innovation: Any additional nuances to your entry (using minions, reciting lines, etc.) for extra points.
(You may request to sign-up to compete by utilizing this form: https://forms.gle/Xty9CFEdD3aVq3wWA. Sign-ups will conclude prior to the contest’s commencement - 30 minutes prior to showtime.)

I don’t know if they ever threw any patches out to keep it playable in Current Edition but if so, it strikes me that you could use that old Renegades and Heretics list to play the Necron vassals of those among the Newcrons that have such things
Wouldn’t be a good idea but it would be a cool modelling project
Humans serving someone like the Nihilakh, who apparently order the populations of conquered worlds to build huge monuments for their glory and shit. And who Trazyn at least reckons will keep humanity around to serve them. Who knows, with all that crazy Dark Imperium shit going on, if a Necron Dynasty started repairing Pylons or building new ones or whatever and curbing all the Chaos bullshit the locals might serve them willingly. Trazyn shows there’s precedent with his pet scribe, who did better under him than under other Imperials.
Wouldn’t be a great society to live in even in the best case, we know the Necrontyr let their lower classes live in mud brick houses even after they’d developed FTL because they didn’t value life, but it’s 40k. It could be worse.
Anyway the R&H list was mostly guard units with some gimmicks (random leadership, mix and match weapons) and a few novel unit types, and you could use it for a wide range of stuff: There were chaos options, but you didn’t need to take them. You could just load up on Apostate Preachers and angry mobs and have them be a religious or even secular uprising, go heavy on wargear options to represent “Xenos heretech” and model some Ogryns as Ork mercenaries to play a human society which is friendly with aliens, take 5 rogue psykers and a refractor field on every character possible to model a psychic uprising, etc. Was a pretty rudimentary list but it was what we had.
So for Necron vassals you’d obviously avoid the psykers. But you could take Chaos Marines with Infiltrate as an Elite choice* and they had almost the same statline as Necron Warriors; use Warrior models as standins and have them infiltrate to represent Necrons phasing in to support their vassals (or more likely, using them as cannon fodder to avoid fighting themselves). You could even justify the lack of Resurrection Protocols by saying they didn’t care enough to self-repair for the sake of their slaves, and just phased out once injured.
Take a few Enforcers (special unit type, execute people to stop units breaking. Bit like some commissar rules I think, never played muc IG on tabletop) and load em up with carapace armour, refractor fields and plasma pistols to be “Necron Overseers”. Give them a glowy green whip, be a nice conversion job. If the plassy overheats it’s because the Dynasty sent the most fucked up and damaged Necrons to corral the inferiors and they’re falling apart, obviously.
Give the guys Egyptian themes to show them aping their overlords. Grab a few old mud brick buildings and spooky black obelisks as terrain pieces. Convert a squad of the elite human infantry, can’t remember their names, to look like they’re trying to cosplay Immortals.
Somehow they’re still nicer to work for than half the Imperium.
Nihilakh Ascendant!
*you could run these as loyalists to make an army of Chapter Serfs, come to think of it

So, the nose dive into the Guilty Gear franchise for me was..totally unexpected. I have two older bros into the whole FG scene, and yet, I thought the whole genre was pretty scary and overwhelming, but I was in love with those mad character concepts. Since getting into cosplay, I've crossed paths with some DarkStalkers, Virtua Fighter, KOF, and a spot of Dynasty Warriors. One hits me strangely hard, I see fanart of Slayer, BOOM!
Me: He's so Dandy and cool! What is this guy from?? (I see GGXrd), yikes, it looks too crazy and badass for me!
(Leaves it a year, pandemic hits, Slayer makes me revisit..finds self reading through the roster and general story, while listening to the music.)
*Cries*
It's an odd, magical, Rock madness, with heart. I love this world.
Here I am, still learning to fight, still struggling, but loving it. ❤️

Had a long dream where I tried to visit my sister but ended up staying in a car, calling to her near her apartment. She lived in dangerous area in this city which I didn't know or had never visited it. She told me it was not safe to get out of car and that I should stay in it.
I did as she told but at one point there game drunk people who tried to break a machine where you can get money. They didn't succeed since group of dark skinned gangsters came there. There was 4 or 5 of them and they noticed me sitting in a car but didn't do anything. Instead they broke in this small store, breaking the window (I don't know did they stole anything). The owner, older and fat Italian man, came there and closed his shop with iron gates while there were customers outside, asking why he close the store and they need to buy food. The owners spoke in Italian (or Spanish, I didn't hear him so well) so I didn't understand him but the shop remained closed.
I then, somehow, got out of the car, ending up in this tiny glass "room" across the road to my left. It had white metal edges, curling like vines and flowers. Very pretty! It also had flowers and plants inside. With me there came group of other men, darker skinned too. I assume they were a family. Like 3 brothers etc. They started to chat with me until I chatted with one of them only.
I kept staring at him / his back, since I noticed black feathers on his clothing. His clothes, after checking them more closer, seemed way too familiar. Eventually I asked / said: "These black feathers are just like Gan Ning's in Dynasty Warriors 6."
He admitted that, saying he was Gan Ning / cosplaying him. And I.SCREAMED! I screamed SO LONG with joy that I had to cover my mouth, not letting my scream bother other family members. I then ran my hand over and over again those black feathers, explaining:
"I knew I recognized them! I knew they were Gan Ning's! Your outfit overall is exactly like his!" I was honestly beyond the moon, ahah! But later in the dream someone came to me, relative to this man, saying that he was actually over 60 years old SHE! :'D I was even more stunned that some old lady had managed to cosplay Gan Ning so well, ahaha!
Then I ended up in some huge mansion / castle where a friend of mine lived. She had many cats which all looked like Verti more or less, biggest and oldest of them being sick / dying. I wanted to come to see the cat and her. After checking the cat, I went upstairs with her to talk privately. It had been decades since we last saw or spoke. In fact our last contact was in middle school since she was in the same class with me. However, there's a twist: She never was in my class, I have never seen her in real life! I don't know who the hell she was but in my dream we were friends and I liked that. I felt calm and relaxed with her.
We spoke some more, mainly about our time in middle school. At one point I told her: "That was not the happiest time of my life." and she knew why (if someone doesn't know, I was bullied in school for 5 years). As we kept speaking, I told her at one point I had found a card which I got from her all those years ago. The card was black with old style painted flowers with positive message on it - but I don't remember it anymore. I remembered it in the dream. I said I was happy I found that card and that I really like it.
When the dream started to come towards the end, I asked would she like to keep contact with me. We could chat every now and then and I could call her like once a year because I'm not all that social. She agreed so I asked does she have Telegram app in her phone. That would be the best option for me. I gave her my number while seeing her address faintly on the paper in front of my eyes. I started to wake up more, thinking did I actually put 2 numbers wrong in my phone number. If I did, then damn! I instantly felt bad since I would have wanted to keep in touch with her, screwing it all up right away by giving her wrong number.
#text#neis dream#dream#Gan Ning#I'm glad Gan Ning was part of the dream in a way#but I do feel really bad about the friend of mine#But maybe it is a sign I don't need old friends back in my life anymore#even if I never met this person in real life#20.5.2024

Well, most of the OCs I'm currently rotating in my mind are for Battletech.
I'll try and give a brief rundown of the main ones:
1. The Totem Warriors: a group of 16+7(+1) genetically engineered anthropomorphic animal super soldiers. Each is used to embody the culture and spirit of a Clan - a group of genetically engineered human soldiers descended from the military forces of the largest interstellar nation-state in human history (the Star League). 16 of the Totem Warriors were created in the 2990s, with the remaining 8 following in the 3130s. The original 16 were denied their chance to become giant robot pilots and so became actors on a later-famous TV show. After they got famous they got their chance to be pilots, but were promptly exiled from Clan space bc lots of people thought the fact they were better than the standard genetically engineered soldiers was cheating. They made their way to the main areas of human-settled space (the Inner Sphere) and became mercenaries for over a century, some of them briefly taking a vacation from that to try and moderate their fellow Clanners who eventually launched an invasion of the Inner Sphere. They've fought in pretty much every major onscreen conflict in the main eras covered by Battletech fiction.
A new set of Totem Warriors was created in the 3130s by an isolationist subfaction of the Clans in a bid to create more Clans and boost their numbers. Said new Totem Warriors were promptly stolen as embryos by the Clans living in the Inner Sphere and raised by them, with the same goal in mind. The original 16 Totem Warriors are all still alive of the current setting date, and thus all are over 160 years old.
My sideblog @is-the-battlemech-cool-or-not is written in-character as Melissa Hazen, the Totem Warrior for Clan Jade Falcon. One of the new Totem Warriors, Sealth of Clan Iron Orca, is the brainchild of @killer-orca-cosplay , but I count him as part of this group.
2. Savannah Cameron: another furry (an intersex wolf lady this time), Savannah is the current head of the Cameron dynasty, the family that once ruled over the aforementioned Star League. She is also extremely long lived, being 155 as of the current setting year. She is also a giant robot pilot. She commands a mercenary force that has been operating for over a century, titled Fursona's Fusiliers after her (involuntarily assigned, but accepted) callsign of "Fursona". She had hidden her status as royalty, just as her entire family line has done for multiple centuries, until she was outted, and now she is trying to balance her dislike of being treated like royalty with trying to figure out ways to make the world she lives in better.
3. Inanna Allard-Liao: Yet another furry (snow leopard this time), and descended from one of Battletech's most famous named characters. Inanna is ex-special forces, and pilots her giant robot using direct neural interface technology - which is uncommon in Battletech as it usually leads to irreparable mental instability and neural degeneration, both eventually resulting in death. Inanna is an experimental test subject for therapies and modifications to the technology designed to ward off and lessen those side effects. She is also extremely high class nobility.
4. Alariel: a soldier in a hold out, moderate faction of the Word of Blake (a fundamentalist splinter group of the setting's technoreligious interstellar communications company). She pilots a 150-ton superheavy mech via direct neural interface. She's also a combat cyborg with cosmetic augmentations that make her look like an elf.
5. Zerachiel: the leader of the aforementioned moderate holdout faction of the Word of Blake. An even more extensively modified neural-interface using combat cyborg mech pilot than Alariel above, they are a scientist at heart, and independently discovered a solution to the ussues with DNI interfaces - make the pilots body as close to that of their mech as possible. To that end, Zerachiel has digitigrade clawed leg prosthetics - because they're the closest they can get to feeling like they're in their Archangel 'Mech at all times. Their left arm has a Cyberpunk style retractable sword blade, because the Archangel they pilot has a retractable blade there. Their right arm has a prototype micro-PPC in it. The Micro-PPC doesn't map 1-to-1 with their current 'Mech config, but it does map with the 'Mech's config from when Zerachiel first started taking lessons in it at 16 - since that's when the neural interface left the biggest impact on their psyche. Also all their prosthetics are white marble and gold inlay patterned, which is the same paint scheme as their 'Mech. They're a genuinely kind and largely pacifistic person, but as of 3153, they have been forced into the position of leading the defense of their homeworld against forces sent by the newly revived Star League.
6. Luna: a Word of Blake sapient AI who defected from the Word to the StarLeague during the Star League invasion of the Blakist holdout system known as Helios. Formerly merely code inside an immoobile quantum/hyperspace computer core, Luna made herself a very tall combat android body in the shape of an anthro intersex robot lioness. She also decided to become a 'mech pilot and custom built her own mech for the purpose of doing so, naturally piloted by direct interface - she's an AI, so she just transfers herself into the mech from her android body when it's time to go and fight.
7. Asena Liška: a cyborg furry assassin for the aforementioned interstellar communications company. Basically max-cyber'd V from Cyberpunk 2077 if she was also transfemme furry fox lady who piloted a giant stealth robot. Her dedicated sideblog is @jerome-blakes-best-foxgirl
8. Tai-sa Ryūga Kurita: a member of the Draconis Combine Mystery Soldiery, Ryūga is yet another furry, this time a very buffed red scaled anthro Eastern dragon man, in charge of a very prestigious military unit. He is the grandson of two named characters from earlier in Battletech history, and thus has a legitimate if disputed claim to the throne of his nation, though he mostly just wants to pilot his giant sword wielding robot.
There are others as well, but these are the main ones I have been using of late.
i wanna hear about your guys
Okie dokie, Bacony!
Which ones though? I haz many.
