As a whole, I don’t find “Legacy of the Fire Nation” to be particularly well-written, insightful, or in character, but I take my tidbits where I can. Moreover, I do have to comment on this because of the frequency that I’ve seen these particular quotes used as proof that Iroh hates, abuses, or neglects Azula, that he doesn’t see Azula as an abuse victim because he’s projecting Ozai onto her, or even that HE was the Azula in his relationship with Ozai, and didn’t see Ozai as being abused because of it, and that’s why he lacks sympathy for Azula.
And that just seems both wildly out of character and a willful misreading of what is actually being said here.
Here, Iroh shows a very strong awareness of the abuse that has run in his family, and where it comes from. Far from seeing Ozai’s behavior as isolated, he refers to it going back to Azulon and Sozin and also how Fire Nation militarism enabled that culture of violence and toxicitiy. This shows that he is aware that Azulon showed unfair favoritism. He talks of how as a young man, he excelled in the role of being Azulon’s prodigy and thought that it was his destiny to take the throne. He talks of initially seeing Ozai’s jealousy as merely that of a sibling rivalry, but realizing that it was something more as Ozai grew into the abusive person he was, shaped by both his own personal ambition and the same toxic culture that Iroh himself had to come to realize was wrong.
He also talks about how there are times where he thinks he could have done something more to help Ozai, which is a pretty natural reaction, and tragic. The way he talks about his growing awareness of what Ozai was, it makes it clear that this was a situation that escalated beyond his control, and his guilt over it sounds similar to the accounts of many people who live with abusers, especially those who they are very close to.
Which is one reason why I find it VERY hard to believe that he would just write off Azula or ignore her, but it also shows his awareness that sometimes you do have to make the choice to cut ties with an abusive person, no matter how painful that is, because he’s been there before. He’s had to make his own peace with the fact that his own father was a monster, even when he benefitted from Azulon’s favoritism. Which is something that Azula has yet to do because she can’t let go of that favoritism.
Iroh doesn’t blame Azula here, though. Even when he discusses Azula, he blames Ozai for not stopping it, Ozai for continuing the legacy of favoritism and toxicity. He compares his relationship with Ozai to Zuko’s and Azula’s not to say that Azula is irredeemable, but in a way that makes it clear that this is something painful for him, that he wishes things could be different. He doesn’t think that either Ozai or Azula were born evil, but he’s not going to make excuses for them, either.
I’ve seen some people point to this and say that just pointing out Ozai’s favoritism of Azula is ignoring that Azula was abused too or blaming her or not giving her credit that she deserves, which is both nonsense and comes across as trying to silence discussion of how Zuko was abused because “Azula was abused, too” or something, which isn’t a logical or ethical stance to take. We should be allowed to talk about how Ozai’s favoritism of Azula was unfair and abuse, because it was. We should be allowed to talk about how it harmed Zuko, because it did. It also harmed Azula, but neither this book, Iroh as a character, nor I am claiming that it didn’t, and talking about how Zuko was harmed does not mean Azula wasn’t, and the only reason that I can see that someone would interpret things that way is if you deny the role Azula herself played in Zuko’s abuse. I also feel like some people who talk about this want to talk about Azula as a victim of abuse but still want her to be the favored child, and you can’t have both. You can’t pretend that Azula deserved to be favored and act like you understand how Ozai’s abuse created that dynamic in the first place. That would be like Iroh saying he still wanted to be Fire Lord after talking about how his family’s toxicity is what put him on that track in the first place. It’s why Iroh refuses the mantle of Fire Lord at the end of the series and also why he doesn’t have any rose-colored glasses when it comes to Azula.

Saw My Life in a Stranger's Face by timetoboldlygo
Lan Wangji had long since stopped thinking of Wei Wuxian's body as Mo Xuanyu's. He grew used to all the ways it was different and the same from the last. But slowly, surely, now that they were comfortable, Wei Wuxian's face had begun to change again. The lines of his jaw became a slightly smudged drawing. Not all together unfamiliar, just enough that Lan Wangji second-guessed his own memory. There was one night Lan Wangji came home to find Wei Wuxian's eyes had changed color. He woke one morning and was taller, his silhouette stretching and growing like a shadow cast against the wall.
His smile was the same. The way he pouted, and slept in, the way he kissed. His terrible jokes. Lan Wangji would get used to a new face too if the husband was still the same.
(Or, the one where Wei Wuxian's face begins to change to look like his original body. It isn't easy on anyone. But it isn't so bad, either.)

I’ve also set this in @bounce-a-coin-off-your-witcher‘s pirate AU, with their permission of course. Lambden, 1.2k. (Now with Part Two)
CW: This is horny, no sex but horny, swordplay, weapons kink, nudity, lingerie.
_________
Lambert sipped his ale, grumbling to Jaskier about the atrocious noise the local bard was making on the rickety old stage. The Captain had the half-siren held firmly in his lap, stopping the former noble from leaping up on stage and tearing the lute from the young bard’s hands. Lambert wouldn’t have complained. It was fucking shit, nothing like melodies Jaskier could pull from the lute. Of course, it helped that he had siren blood. The bastard could charm the whole tavern should he wish to do so, luckily for them Geralt was keeping Jaskier occupied. The siren’s hands were wrapped around the Captain’s shoulders as he lavished Jaskier’s neck with kisses.
It was fucking gross.
Lambert rolled his eyes and decided to leave the Captain and his wife alone. He turned back to his drink, downing half the tankard in one go. He scowled and peered into the amber liquid. He should have gone for rum, the ale tasted like piss. He was pulled from his musings by a sword scattering across the floor, landing at his feet.
“The fuck?” He picked up the sword cautiously and peered up at the man standing in the doorway. “Shit.”
Aiden, first mate of the Dyn Marv, was standing in the doorway. It had been a while since their paths had crossed. Aiden’s green eyes were the first thing he noticed, like shimmering emeralds. There was a smirk gracing his lips, and his long dark hair was pulled into a messy bun at the back of his head. His sword was pointing directly at Lambert as he walked slowly towards the crew of the Kaer Morhen.
Lambert glanced back at his captain, but Geralt was still distracted by his wife. Lambert rolled his eyes and weighed the sword in his hands, it was lighter than he was used to but it would do the job. Aiden didn’t mean him any serious harm, he was certain of it. They’d danced this dance before. Lambert grinned and winked at the rival pirate, settling into a fighting stance and raising his sword, not a moment too soon. Aiden flew towards him and the ringing clash of steel sounded in the tavern. The bard stammered and ran to hide, whilst the crowd shifted to the edge of the room.
Lambert laughed as Aiden spun in a pirouette to avoid Lambert’s sword. “Long time no see, kitten.”
“Got a bit tied up in prison,” Aiden called back, lunging at Lambert, his long coat tails flying out behind him.
Lambert hissed as he felt the scratch of cold steel against his skin. He looked down at his blouse and cursed. Aiden’s sword had cut straight through the fabric. He glared up at the dark-haired pirate. “I thought you were dead.”
Aiden laughed, sword dropping to his side whilst he waited for Lambert to regain his composure. “Miss me, wolf?”
“Not a chance,” he shot back, undoing his shirt buttons and pulling the garment off as they circled each other, dropping it on the floor with a wink.
He heard Jaskier wolf whistle in the background, but he ignored him, attention solely focused on the pirate in front of him. He raised his sword once more and Aiden flew forward in a complicated spin, designed to throw Lambert off. It looked very pretty but it was a weak attack. Lambert parried easily and sliced through Aiden’s leather trousers with ease, careful not to cut too deep. One leg split open, revealing dark tanned skin underneath, a scar just above his knee that Lambert couldn’t see but he knew was there.
“You little shit!” Aiden growled, moving in closer for his next attack.
Lambert managed to block the strike, but Aiden didn’t give up easily. They circled once more, blades crossed, and Lambert could smell the scent of Aiden’s cologne, stolen from fancy nobles no doubt. Lambert growled and forced Aiden’s sword away, parrying and slicing at the front of Aiden’s blouse. It fell open and Lambert’s eyes widened.
Oh.
A dark lacy bra was peaking out the ruined shreds of Aiden’s shirt. That was new.
“Like what you see, wolf?” Aiden purred.
Lambert couldn’t find any words to answer that, his pants were beginning to feel painfully tight. Fuck it had been far too long since they’d done this. He needed Aiden, and he needed him now. He lunged again, slicing quickly at Aiden’s trousers until they fell to the floor, revealing a fucking pair of black lacy panties to match his bra. Aiden hissed and jumped back, green eyes now dark with hunger. He pulled his hair free, dark curls falling down his back, the predatory look in his eyes making Lambert feel weak.
“You’re overdressed, darling.”
Lambert smirked as Aiden lunged at him messily, he was starting to wonder whether his green-eyed pirate was making mistakes on purpose. Aiden fell with his back against the wall, lips parted as he panted from the exertion. Lambert’s sword dug into the wall, brushing Aiden’s cheek as he pinned the long leather coat to the wooden beam.
Aiden winked and wiggled free of his coat, now walking around the tavern in just his ruined blouse, looking completely indecent. Lambert leaned forward to try kiss the other pirate but Aiden had other ideas, he ducked under Lambert’s arm forcing him to pirouette to defend himself but it was too late, Aiden’s sword was too quick and Lambert’s trousers joined his shirt on the floor.
“Time to take this somewhere more private, kitten,” he growled, and the man behind the bar pointed to the stairs, his hand trembling in fear. Lambert nodded his thanks.
Aiden laughed and ran up the stairs. Lambert followed and their swords continued to clash as they made their way up to their borrowed room. It was barely a fight any more, but it was enough to make Lambert feel heady with arousal. When they reached the top of the stairs Lambert’s sword sliced up the back of Aiden’s blouse and it fell to the floor.
“Fuck, Aiden,” Lambert groaned as he drank in the sight in front of him.
Aiden turned to face him slowly, his loose dark curls just catching the top of the delicate bra that barely covered Aiden’s pecs, thick chest hair trailed down to the lacy panties that hid absolutely nothing from view. Lambert felt weak at the knees, he wanted nothing more than to rip those fucking panties off with his teeth, but Aiden wasn’t done yet. He pushed Lambert to the floor, sword hooking under his chin, before Lambert could push it aside with his own blade. Lambert groaned and crawled on his back towards the door to the bedroom, forced back by Aiden’s blade clashing against his. When they reached the bedroom Lambert’s sword fell from his hand and he shivered as the tip of Aiden’s sword brushed against his cheek, not enough to draw blood but enough to make his heart race faster in his chest.
“Aiden,” his voice cracked and he sounded fucking pathetic. Fuck, if the Captain saw him like this he’d be thrown over board, forced to walk the plank.
“Do you yield, my wolf?” Aiden squatted down in front of him, keeping his sword at Lambert’s throat.
Lambert groaned but nodded. “Fuck, fine.”
Aiden’s sword dropped to the floor, and the pirate straddled Lambert’s hips, their lips finally meeting in a passionate kiss.

Teasing Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) Would Include...
Anonymous said:
Hi😊, just wanted to say I'm hooked on your writing it's so good!! And maybe if you're not to busy with other requests could you possibly write a Mandalorian x reader where the reader puts on dyn's helmet and armor while he's asleep and he wakes up to see the reader playfully pretending to be a him like saying "this is the way"
Anonymous said:
i like to imagine the reader lying in bed post-sex with mando with his full armour on after he put it back on and the reader asks "can i ask you something? is it hard to breathe in there?" and he simply answers "no", i know that doesnt sound like the most romantic scenario but the little things like that and small talks with mando just keeps me going you know?
I hope you both are okay with the fact I combined these requests. I thought of a way to incorporate both and...well...you’ll see *wink* this maybe be the steamiest thing I’ve ever written so...be WARNED
Tumblr media
Din Djarin is the most serious man you’ve ever met.
Even after you established your relationship; even after he removed his helmet, revealing to you the most intimate parts of himself
You could not get Din Djarin to take a joke.
So, naturally, this meant you would try to make him laugh whenever the chance arose
But he never did
And it was infuriating because Din was unintentionally funny!
He would say things that would make you giggle.
For instance, with The Child, Din began to explore a whole new side to himself.
On longer trips in the Razor Crest, after you finished whatever maintenance, you’d climb up into the cockpit and catch him talking to the Child.
“I don’t know, womp rat.”
The Child would coo or gurgle in some mock reply.
“You think so? Could be dangerous.”
You’d try to stay as quiet as you could, waiting for the right moment to jump in and make a joke
But it never came.
You were too in love and in awe to interrupt the little play conversation.
You couldn’t even find it in yourself to poke fun at Din for talking to the Child.
Partly because you didn’t want to ruin the sweet moments with your teasing
And also because there was something about the Child that made you think he understood Din when he talked to him.
Other things Din did still make you laugh.
Since he wore his helmet most times, his unreadable reactions made serious situations humorous with a small turn of his helmet.
And because Din was so professional, he was rather awkward when dealing with others.
Like on Sorgan!
“You can’t live here anymore.”
His lack of social tact never failed to make you smile.
Even when he didn’t mean to be, Din was funny.
If you did point it out, his unintentional lapse in his stoic nature, he would just brush it off.
“I’m glad I can entertain you.”
“In more way than one,” you’d tease, slipping off his helmet.
His dark eyes were bright at your words and you help but grin.
Your teasing went two ways: humor and seduction.
But it perturbed you that Din could make you laugh, tease you into smiling, but you couldn’t do the same for him.
Not laughing couldn’t be healthy?! Right?
All you wanted was to hear Din laugh.
One morning, when you and Din were still in bed, the need to make him laugh was as overwhelming as the instinct to check on the Child.
You threw your legs out of the cot and started to get up.
“Where are you going?”
Din’s bare hand danced along your lower back.
Careful yet curious fingers skirted under your shirt and tickled your skin.
You stayed on your shared bed for a lingering moment, leaned into his soft touch.
He always had a way of keeping you by his side.
“To check on the kid,” you murmured softly.
Din’s dark eyes were barely open as you spoke.
You turned and pressed a chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth
“Rest. I’ll be right back.”
A small hum escaped Din’s lips and you took that as a tired submission.
Slowly, careful not to wake him fully, you peeled yourself out of bed and padded over to where the Child slept.
With a small ‘whoosh’ the sliding down opened up and you studied the peaceful expression along the green creatures’ face.
How much trouble could a being this tiny cause?
A lot, apparently.
You and Din had gotten shot at more now than any other time in your lives.
But it was worth it.
After all, it was the Child that brought you and Din together in the first place.
Satisfied that the Child was soundly asleep, you began to pad back over to your shared cot(s) with Din.
As you walked inside, your eyes caught the glint of beskar.
The familiar slope of Din’s helmet held your attention.
A thought entered your mind and a smile spread along your lips.
It was dumb.
It was stupid.
Hell, it could have been crossing a line.
But you knew, somewhere deep in your soul, that it would make Din laugh.
It had to.
You tenderly picked up Din’s helmet as if it were made of Naboo’s stained glass.
It was heavy, but also lighter than you expected it to be.
The weight dispersed when you slipped it on over your bed head.
For a moment, your vision was shrouded.
Then the ‘T’ shaped, macrobinocular viewplate flickered to life.
A limited tactical display fell over your vision in a dull red color.
The crimson tint melded into the colors of the natural world; the stone greys of the Razor Crest and the shade of your skin.
You curled your lips together to keep from laughing at yourself.
You could only imagine how ridiculous you looked with the sleek, Mandalorian helmet perched on your head without any of the accompanying armor applied.
Before you broke into a fit, you peeked around to catch a glimpse of Din in bed.
His soft features were the perfect antithesis of the serious nature that laid within
The very serious nature you longed to see fractured
Even if only for a moment
And that was what you set out to do
You let out a cough, loud enough to stir Din.
On cue, his dark eyes blinked open, just barely.
“This is the way.”
Your voice was deeper, more akin to static from a droid’s voice.
“This is-”
You were cut off by your own laughter.
“The way,” you raised two finger guns and pointed them towards Din. “Fight me.”
Through the red haze, it was hard to tell what Din’s reaction was.
You weren’t used to the altered view; it was all strange to you.
That was strange and so was the new sound that reached your ears.
It was like a humming
Low, like a rumbling engine
But rich, almost bright.
It was a strangely wonderful cacophony of a sound
A sound that brought a smile to your lips as you realized it came from Din.
He was laughing
Finally laughing!
His shoulders were shaking as he moved to sit up in bed.
Sheets around him fell from his bare chest and you couldn’t take it anymore
You lifted the helmet from your head and set it to the side.
Unmuffled by the beskar, Din’s laughter made you swoon.
Smiling, you darted towards the bed and buried yourself next to Din’s side.
His arms wrapped around you, pulling you to his chest.
He was all warm and soft; the stress and the heat of the day had yet to set in.
You let yourself melt into his touch
Your body turned to putty in his hands.
His fingers tickled and brushed over patches of newly exposed skin, sending shivers through your entire being.
“Is that what I sound like?”
“All the time,” you wheezed through laughter.
A moment after, your back was pressed against the cushion of the cots and Din was all you saw.
He held himself up, waiting above you with his arms on either side of your head.
Ah yes, this was a different form of teasing.
This was the other kind of teasing that Din didn’t know he was good at.
He still smelled of yesterdays work and sweat
His hair was a knotted mess from wearing his helmet and somewhat restless sleep
Yet he looked stunning to you
And, by the Maker, did you look stunning to him.
You lifted a wandering hand up to Din’s scruffy jaw as he looked down at you.
In gentle touches, you brushed your fingers along the column of his throat.
You saw his shoulder and arms tense at your touch.
“I like the way you laugh,” you whispered.
Din grinned.
“Do you?”
You nodded as your fingers trailed down from Din’s throat to his shoulder.
Muscles beneath your touch tensed a second then relaxed.
With your other hand, you reached for his face.
You cupped his jaw and brought his lips close to yours.
“We have to get moving,” Din mumbled.
The chapped flesh on his lips brushed against your own.
A smile spread at the sensation.
“We do,” you tilted your chin up with your teasing tone.
Another low sound, not a laugh, slipped from Din’s lips.
A groan.
“I like the way you sound.”
Din’s wide grin turned to a knowing, closed-lipped smile.
You, finally, closed the gap between the two of you and kissed him.
You melded together perfectly in a warm dance of limbs.
After that, it was hard to tell where you ended and where Din began.
You ‘worked’ together so well, too well maybe.
As you ‘worked’, Din’s serious demeanor returned but not completely.
When you tangled your fingers in his hair and pulled, you could feel Din smile against your skin.
It was those little things you noticed; the little things you felt.
Afterward, when you laid out on the cots still trying to still your racing heart, you looked at Din.
He was getting ready to face the day.
Shoulder pauldrons and breastplate on, he moved to the final shin guard.
Even covered in layers of beskar and a body stocking, Din looked amazing.
Silently, Din reached for his helmet.
Before he could put it on, you lifted your hand out to him.
“Wait.”
Din turned and, knowing exactly what you wanted, he brought your hand to his lips.
His lips were still wet from before.
When he leaned down to kiss your forehead, you let out a hum of approval.
Smiling, Din pulled away and placed the helmet on his head.
"Can I ask you something?”
The visor turned to meet your gaze and you knew, in that instant, Din was all business again.
“Of course.”
You smiled cheesily.
“Is it hard to breathe in there?"
Din almost laughs but the sound gets caught in his throat.
He almost says ‘yes’ simply because you’re there, in your shared bed, looking like that and looking at him.
Din almost says ‘yes’ but he knew teasing could be dished out both ways.
“No,” he said curtly.
You couldn’t see the smile hidden beneath his helmet
But you could feel it
And that was all you needed.

Concept for a possible Dyn Jarren x reader?? Reader and mando are in prison or being held captive and reader just totally pulls a Rey and uses a Jedi mind trick to get guard to release them and reader is confused about her new found force abilities but also ready to kick ass and Dyn is just in awe
I really like this idea and just kind of it took and ran with it. I hope you guys enjoy!
»»————- ♡ ————-««
“So are you like a real Mandalorian?”
“What do you think?” his snarky response came followed by a heavy sigh, and despite the helmet, you could tell he was rolling his eyes. You had been stuck in the small holding cell with him for several hours and he hadn’t uttered more than a one or two word response to anything you’d said or asked him.
“I dunno,” you shrugged your shoulders innocently, “part of me thinks yes, obviously, since you’re wearing the armor and everything.”
“Then you should go with that for an answer-”
“But,” you interrupted him, tilted your head, a smirk on your face, “part of me thinks no since you’ve gotten yourself looked up in here. Aren’t Mandalorians supposed to be talented and skilled warriors? Either the standards for Mandalorians these days are very low or you’re a very bad representation of your people.”
“Do you ever shut up?” was his only response and you realized you had gotten under his skin. Whatever skin he had under the full suit of armor; not a single inch was exposed, no stray lock of hair peeking out from the helmet. You wondered what he looked under there…was he handsome? Rugged and worn out from years of battle? Was he young? Was he battle-scarred? You had so many questions for him, feeling yourself drawn to him for whatever reason.
“Not really,” you admitted, shooting him a wink to try and get some sort of reaction out of him. he had seemed so stern and stubborn the entire time, “kind of what got me here in the first place. You’d think I would have learned at some point, but my mother always did say my mouth would be the death of me.”
“It appears so,” was there a tone of bemusement in his voice? You leaned back against the cell wall and tucked your legs under you, watching as a few droids walked by. There was a beat of silence as the Mandalorian shifted in his seat, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees, “what do you do?”
“Afraid that’s classified,” you said and he made a small sound that was akin to of course, “let’s just say I’m a spy of sorts. Nothing too exciting. At least not as exciting as being a bounty hunter. I assume you’re the one that the Bounty Hunter’s Guild is looking for?”
“Might be,” he answered as he turned his head towards.
“Figured as much,” you heard some footsteps approaching the cell and got up, almost running to the front of the cell. You turned back to him, “you don’t see many of your kind these days. It’s almost refreshing.”
“Oh?”
“I’m from Mandalore too,” you explained, “well, at least I was. But that was a long time ago. I don’t really belong anywhere anymore. I suppose neither of us do anymore.”
“You’re from Mandalore?” that had piqued his interested and he moved closer to you as you just nodded, “what’s your name?”
“No one,” you said quietly, putting your finger to your lips as the footsteps stopped near your cell, “hey, hi, hello! Perhaps you can spare this poor prisoner a moment of your time?”
“What do you want?” the guard came over, his voice gruff and annoyed, and you wondered if you were doing the right thing, “we’ve got real business to attend to.”
“Umm,” you could feel the Mandalorian’s eyes glued to your back as you suddenly realized you didn’t really have a plan. You didn’t really think you’d get this far, but you weren’t about to back down. You narrowed your eyes at him and stated simply, “you’re going to open the door.”
“I’m going to what?” he asked, and you were unsure if he actually wanted you to repeat the question or if he was just so amazed that you’d even make the demand. You swallowed the lump in your throat, and nodded.
“You’re going to open the door,” you repeated as you stared him dead in his cold, steely eyes. A sort of trance-like look crossed his face as he reached into his pocket. Was it actually working? You decided to push it further, “and then you’re going to let us go and get inside the cell.”
There was a snort of laughter from behind you as he watched you attempt to negotiate, sure that you were just setting yourself up for failure, but you cast a quick glance at him, letting him know to shut up.
The guard was still for a few moments before he nodded and repeated after you in a dead pan voice, “I will open the door and let you go, and I will get inside the cell.”
“Y-yes, exactly,” your heart was beating wildly as you got a step back, waiting for something, anything really, to happen. The guard punched some sort of code to the cell door and it quickly opened, you let out a long breath that you had been holding in.
He stepped inside and you took the opportunity and stepped into the freedom of the hallway. The Mandalorian didn’t know what was going on, just as confused as you were, but he quickly followed after you. Before sealing the door, you stepped back in and held out your had, “you will give me your blasters.”
“I will give you my blasters,” he reached into his holsters and handed you both of his blasters, and you quickly clipped one onto your belt and handed the other to the Mandalorian. Once he was sat down in the space you had previously occupied, you sealed the door back up and took a step back, trying to comprehend what had just occurred.
“How did you…do that?” you turned back to face the warrior that loomed over you, and you just shook your head, stunned as much as him that your crazy little plan had worked.
“I have no clue,” you admitted, “I just wanted to try something. I’ve done it a few times in the past, but it’s never worked this well before. I just assumed I was good at negotiating. I dunno.”
“Are you…” he trailed off as you grabbed his hand and dragged him along with you. You didn’t have much time to waste, you were positive of that fact, and wanted to make a quick getaway, “hey!”
“Come on Mando,” you whispered as you checked to make sure the coast was clear, “we’ve got to move fast if we’re going to get out of this stupid prison without anyone finding us.”
“Why are you helping me?” his voice was more gentle than you thought was possible, “you don’t know even know me.”
“Doesn’t matter,” you said, shoving him against the wall as a pair of mouse droids rolled by, “I know you’re not a bad person, and I know that neither of us should be locked up. You can stay behind if you want…”
“Not a chance,” he responded, stepping past you and taking the lead, “I’ve got it from here. The path out isn’t too complicated, let’s go kid.”
“Y/N,” you told him as you trailed after him, almost struggling to keep up with his long strides, “my name’s Y/N.”
“Y/N,” he repeated the name, deciding that he liked how it sounded and thought it suited you perfectly. It was familiar, and he tried to remember who else he had known with that name…he’d heard it before, but couldn’t place it.
He was about to say something else, but pulled on his sleeve in a silent attempt to stop him. He turned to you and shook your head and pointed down the hall, where a few guards were coming your way. They hadn’t noticed you just yet, but you knew you couldn’t let them go; they’d discover your whereabouts and alert the whole base, which would make it almost impossible to get out.
“I’ve got this,” you said quietly, leaving his side and strolling over to them. They looked at you with shock on their faces when they realized who you were, blasters raised at your face. You flinched internally, but kept your face neutral, “hi, I bet you’re all wondering why I’m here-”
“How did you get out?” one of them asked immediately.
“Well, you see it’s a actually a pretty funny story,” you said as they leaned into you, but instead of finishing your thought, you raised both of your hands and grabbed two of the blasters and kneed the third in the groin, catching them all off guard. You struck them with the blasters, knocking them unconscious, but letting them live before skipping back over to the Mandalorian, who had been silently watching you in a sense of awe and wonder. You had him another of the blasters, “they’ll be out for a while, but they’ll be fine.”
“You didn’t kill them,” he wasn’t so much a question as it was a statement and you nodded, “why?”
“Why kill them?” you asked in response, “they’re not the bad guys, they just happen to be in our way. There’s no reason to kill them.”
“You’ve never killed?”
“I didn’t say that,” you said as he stopped and observed you intently. Deciding to take the lead again, you motioned for him to follow you, knowing you were only a few minutes away from freedom, “come on Mando, I’d almost think you wanted to stay with slowly you’re moving.”
“I’d rather be in a lot of places,” he said and you just laughed at his words. There was a certain way he spoke, how a sigh seemed to be laced into his words whenever he was distraught or annoyed, that endeared him to you. He almost seemed like an old friend, and in some ways you were already going to miss him when you parted ways.
“Let’s go then,” you insisted, “freedom awaits.”
»»————- ♡ ————-««
After a short while longer of working your way through the maze of the prison, you ended up at the entrance, bursting out in the brilliant sunshine of the afternoon. There was nothing but brush and trees around surrounding you, and it was a welcome change from the prison’s metallic walls.
“Holy shit,” you said, relaxing slightly as you stretched and let the sun warm your body, “I can’t believe we actually made it out. I never thought that would work.”
“What was your Plan B?” he asked as you watched you curiously.
“Plan B?” you giggled, “there was no Plan B. I was just going to try what we did, and if that didn’t work then…well, I would try to go out fighting.”
“Where will you go now?” he asked and you shrugged. You doubted you could go back to the group you worked with, at least not without compromising them, and you didn’t want to needlessly put them in danger. You weren’t sure where you’d go, but you could figure it out, you always did.
“I dunno,” you admitted, “my face is plain so I can blend in well. Maybe for now I’ll travel around, just to make sure no one’s after me. I’m pretty sure I’ve been presumed dead by others anyway.”
“Oh,” he was stoic again, trying to search for the right words.
“What about you, Mando?”
“I don’t know either,” he answered, “but I’ve got to get back to my ship, there’s some precious cargo on there.”
“The Child,” you answered and he nodded, not surprised that his reputation preceded him, or that you knew exactly what was going on.
“Yes,” he said, hanging his head for a moment before turning back to you, “do you…well…”
“You should get going…”
“Yeah,” he agreed, and he didn’t seem eager to part ways with you just yet, “I could…if you were interested….use someone of your talents…”
“Are you asking me if I want to come with you?” you asked, a bemused smirk on your face as he nodded, “I mean…I guess that could be interesting…and I want to see this Child. Maybe I could teach you a thing or two.”
“Me? Very funny.”
“What should I call you then?” you asked as he started to lead the way back to his ship, hot on his heels, “Mando? Does that work?”
“It’s what most people call me,” he answered, and then he paused for a moment, “but you, and only you, can call me Din.”
“Din,” you repeated, stopping dead in your tracks, you knew that name. You knew the man in front of you, or at least the boy he had once been, “Din Djarin?”
He came to a complete stop as he turned around and faced you, “how did you know that?”
“We…we know each other,” you answered, trying to contain your excitement that you were possibly being reunited with your childhood best friend, “Din, I’m Y/N. Y/N L/N.”
“Y/N L/N,” he repeated and it suddenly clicked in his mind. He had known you, he had known you long ago, and in another life almost, “it’s been…years.”
Before you could say anything else, he threw his arms around you and engulfed you in a tight hug against his armored body. It only took a moment before you returned the hug, burying your face in the soft cloth that covered his neck, holding back tears. It had been so long before you had seen him, or anyone else from your home, let alone experience actual human contact.
He slowly let go out of you before moving his helmet, pausing as he debated taking it off. You grabbed of his wrists and shook your head, “you don’t have to…I know it is the way.”
But he shook his head as you dropped your hand and ever so slowly removed the helmet he had so rarely taken off since he had dawned it. As soon as he took it off, he shook out his dark locks before looking at you, the same boy you had known grown into a handsome man. You just grinned at each other for a few moments, soaking in the moment of actually being together again; you never though you’d see him ever again, especially not in this lifetime.
“Din!”

Snippet of Wayward Heart (Welcome Home)
(a snip of another one-shot in the Blood of My Blood verse! Both because I felt like sharing and also as thanks to @mokulule for the lovely bby Dyn art)
...
The new, confounding relationship lasted three months under their tentative watch before the next earth shattering revelation hit. Ignis had just finished reporting to Regis on the latest development of Noctis’s friendship with Prompto while Gladiolus babysat Dyn —babysitting the boy on Noctis’s behalf so he could hang out with Prompto in person had become a once-weekly event— and then returned to Noctis’s suite to check on the pair in the guise of bringing snacks —Monica and Dustin were both just outside the door, and Noctis could absolutely defend himself against a civilian boy, but after what had happened, none of them felt like being lax in their protectiveness—. He was just coaxing the pair into pausing their game to eat —and then hopefully talk Prompto into going home soon, as Dyn tended to get upset when parted from his father for too long—, when the door to the suite opened and Monica’s voice drifted through in a panic, “-not gone home yet!”
Little feet pattered across carpet as Dionysus ran into the suite ahead of Gladiolus’s frantically grasping fingers, straight into the legs of the startled Prompto.
Ignis stopped breathing, mind a blur of horror and the desperate hope that maybe he could reach Dionysus in time to pull him away and save Prompto’s life as Noctis went deathly still. In his mind, Ignis was seeing over a dozen incidents replay before his eyes. Moments when unfamiliar servants or Crownsguard —or in one very disastrous case, a nobleman— had gotten too close to Dionysus and Noctis went from being calm and doting to violently protective. The servants usually escaped with just a bad scare and migraines from the screamingly furious magic that slammed into their bodies in warning for getting within a dozen feet of Dionysus. Two Crownsguard had not been so lucky, having gotten within arm’s reach of the boy without Noctis’s permission and getting either knocked out or an arm and several ribs broken during Noctis’s explosive response.
Now this boy, who Noctis was oddly fond of but had only known for three months, was actually touching Dionysus. Through no fault of his own of course, but-.
Prompto didn’t seem aware of the massive impending danger, just crouched down to gently steady Dionysus with his hands as the toddler bounced off his legs with a noise of surprise, “Whoa there, Little Guy! Where’d you come from?” Dionysus cringed away from Prompto’s touch and Ignis and Gladiolus both rushed forward in the hopes of stopping imminent bloodshed as Noctis unfroze-.
Crouched down next to Prompto and gently pulled Dionysus into his arms with a faint, nervous smile, “This is Dionysus. He’s my son.” Prompto gaped, so did Ignis and Gladiolus, but for different reasons as, instead of screaming or raging or pulling blades from his armiger like he had against trusted Citadel staff, Noctis just ducked his head to kiss his son’s hair and then nervously glanced at Prompto for a reaction. The magic tied to Ignis’s soul didn’t hum with fear-protectiveness-rage, but instead a heady mix of longing-nervousness-hope.
Prompto slowly plopped down from a crouch to a sitting position on the floor, staring first at Dionysus, then at Noctis, “I … I didn’t know you had a kid,” he managed with a squeak.
Noctis swallowed and the nervous hope in his magic grew, holding Ignis and Gladiolus in place, silent witnesses to an impossible scene, “We’ve kept it quiet. I … the media was already going crazy over my return. I can handle it, but Dyn is just- he’s only two. He’s gonna be three in a couple months but-.”
Prompto nodded, “That would be a nightmare for a toddler.” The blond looked unusually solemn as he shifted his gaze to Noctis’s face, “My lips are sealed. I won’t tell anyone about him, I promise.”
Noctis smiled weakly, “You don’t … you’re not freaking out?”
“Over the fact that you have a kid? Dude, I am absolutely freaking out,” Prompto said with far more calm than his words implied. Noctis started to flinch but Prompto kept going, “But that’s more because if he’s almost three, then that means you definitely had him while you were kidnapped and I’ve seen a lot of really bad movie plots along those lines that nobody should have to live through. Let alone my friend.”
A shaky breath from Noctis, “We’re … still friends?”
Prompto lightly bumped Noctis’s shoulder with his fist, “Of course we are, man!” Prompto’s expression softened to something devoted, something warm but with a core of steel that Ignis usually only saw in a mirror or in Gladiolus’s eyes, “I’m your friend for as long as you want me to be.”
Noctis exhaled and nerves turned to a flood of relief that made Ignis feel weak kneed just from glimpses of. He smiled and the expression was far more genuine, almost teasing, “If that’s the case, then, fair warning, but you’re gonna be stuck with me for a long time.”
Dionysus, who had been watching his father interact with Prompto, interrupted whatever Prompto was about to say next with a tentative, “Da? Safe?”
Noctis ran his fingers through his son’s hair, and even though Ignis shouldn’t have been shocked by his response, not after what they’d just seen, he was still floored, “Absolutely safe, Dyn. This is my friend Prompto. He’s as safe as Iggy or Gladio, okay?” A gentle tug at violet-red hair, “Can you say hi to Prompto?”
Dionysus considered Prompto with solemn eyes while Ignis and Gladiolus exchanged wild looks because since when was a random civilian teenager Noctis had befriended three months ago as “safe” as Noctis’s own Retinue? While they struggled with that, Dionysus held out a shy hand and smiled, “Hi, Prom. ‘M Dyn.”
Prompto took the tiny hand in his own with a gentle sort of reverence and shook it up and down, “Hi, Dyn,” Prompto parroted back with a lopsided, soft smile, “It’s nice to meet you, little buddy.”

Loving Dyn
Pairing: Mandalorian/Dyn Jarren x Reader
Summary: A fluffy day in the life of Artist Mom, Daddy Dyn (sans helmet) and the little green bean who goes by Baby. Included is a very angsty flashback to the beginning of the relationship and how it turned into a dreamy delicate life. Mentions of sex.
Masterlist
“Miss Y/N?” A small voice squeaks from behind you.
You turn from your painting to meet the voice, a little girl stands in the doorway.
“Yes, Tira?” You hum, turning back to your work.
“Baby was doing tricks again. He fell asleep in the grass and I told no one to pick him up because I didn’t want no one to drop him.” Tira says quietly, eyes to the ground as she pulls on her tunic.
You sigh, putting down your brushes and palette next to the half finished canvas. “Will you please take me to him, Tira?”
The little girl nods, and you follow her out of the cottage and through the streets of your sleepy village. Tira holds the long sleeve of your gauzy white dress that flows behind you as you keep up with the child’s pace.
“Tira,” you say, stoping her and kneeling down to be at her height, you take her hands in yours. “Honey, did you ask Baby to do the tricks? You know Dyn & I don’t want him to be doing-“
“No, I promise Miss Y/N! He just does them!” She says, upset.
“Okay”, you nod, rubbing her arms, “I believe you.”
You stand back up and the little girl leads you to the meadow that separates the village from the forest. Three children crouch around Baby next to a weeping willow, and you’re relieved they are at least in the shade.
“Oh goodness” you sing, pulling your little green boy out of the grass and against your chest, you pause for a beat to hear it’s familiar breath and the childen rush around you. They all speak at once, saying they’re sorry.
“It’s okay, angels” you smile.
“It’s scary when he just goes to sleep like that,” a little white haired boy says, scratching his cheek.
You nod, “It is scary, isn’t it?” You can see your cottage from the tree and you start to walk, “Come on, walk back with me darlings.”
They follow you, chatting amongst themselves, relieved you are not mad.
When you return, you put Baby in his bassinet and pull your hair out of it’s bun and sigh. You push the bassinet into the living space and once he is situated next to your canvas you lightly brush your finger between Baby’s eyes, “What is going on in there?”
You return to your work. Or, try, rather. As you can’t help yourself but peak into the bassinet between every brushstroke.
Hours pass, and it’s not until the cottage is filled with the orange and pink glow of the sunset that your attention is broken by a coo.
“Oh!” You exclaim, putting down your supplies, “There you are! Hi Baby.”
You dip over the basinet and scratch behind his ears.
Suddenly there are arms around you and you yelp. Looking back you smile, it’s only Dyn and Baby gurgles at your surprise.
“Hello, lover.” You smile up at him behind you, dragging your pointer finger down the bridge of his exquisite nose.
When you met Dyn, he had been without his helmet for some time. No longer on the run, he settled on this planet with his boy and took a job teaching self defence classes in town.
He had been walking home through the forest after a class, walking along the stream when he came across a pair of shoes, canteen and a journal on a large, flat rock.
He looked around before out to the water where he saw you walking back towards the shore humming to yourself.
You laughed when you noticed you were being watched and someone had heard you singing to yourself. As you got closer to him, your embarrassment washed away and it was replaced with a pounding heart flutter you could hear in your ears and feel pulse through your cheeks. He was so striking, you had never seen such a strong face. Maybe it was his large angular nose, or the pursed lips under a thick bit of black moustache. Or perhaps it was his olive skin that glistened in the sunshine, chest peaking out behind a half buttoned beige shirt. Or how he stood with his hip popped slightly. But he took your breath away.
He pushed his hair out of his eyes when he noticed you staring at him and you still couldn’t help yourself. Your eyes followed along the line of his beautiful jaw up to the darkest, fiery eyes that stunned you. He was magnificent.
“It’s just so hot,” you laughed, trying to fill up the quiet empty space.
He didnt’t respond. You crossed your arms as you noticed your wet dress was clinging to your body. He’d been silent for so long, you didn’t know what to do so you walked towards your belongings with a meek smile.
“I-I’m sorry,” he stuttered. “You are very beautiful.”
You looked back at him, now grinning. “Thank you”.
“What is your name?”
“Y/N. What’s yours?”
“Dyn.”
“I’ve never seen you before, Dyn. I swim here every day, in the warm months, at least. I’d remember your face.” Your heart is still racing and you think quickly how you could drown in the sound of his gravelly voice. Dyn smiles, and you can’t believe someone with the strongest face you’ve ever seen could also look like sunshine. What was happening to you?!
“I don’t always walk home”
You nod, sitting down on the rock, pulling your shoes on and collecting your things, “Well, Dyn. Like I said, I swim here every day. Maybe I’ll see you?”
You did. The next day you heard his foot steps approach as you lay on the same rock in the sun, scribbling in your journal.
“Hi”, he said low and soft.
“Hi, Dyn”, you breathed back, closing the notebook and sitting up. You studied him for a moment, took in his face that already seemed so familiar. Had you dreamt of him the night before?
“Would you like to swim with me?”
“Yeah, I would” he answered, dropping his bag to the ground.
You slip your dress off over your head, wearing proper swimming garments this time and Dyn strips down to his bottom under clothes.
Your eyes fall on his battered chest for a moment, resisting the urge to trace your finger tips along the scars painted across his body. You look up into his eyes and smile, taking his hand. “Let’s go then”.
You lead him to the shore and he squeezes your hand, you clasp your free hand around it immediately. His hand in both of yours.
Your connection was instant, but the trust was earned slowly. You mesmerized Dyn and he was fascinated by your free spirit and your need to create. From your commissioned work to your detailed personal journals, he admired your ever-present desire to express yourself. You sang. You danced. You screamed. You were emotional. You were as fresh and alive as a summer rain, but most importantly, you were patient. Because as it turned out, Dyn was quite the opposite. He was guarded. He was quiet. He was calculated. Dyn knew he needed someone who could let him catch up. He had seen the whole galaxy, but hadn’t a clue how to exist in it. He wanted someone to emulate, not push him to discomfort or try to fix him, but to be there while he found his place again.
It was difficult at the beginning, him being a man of few words. There were many nights when Dyn woke in a cold sweat and hard panting. You’d pull him close to you, his bare back against your chest and he’d squeeze your hand. You’d wait until his breathing would return to normal and you’d let the tears pool at the inner corner of your eye. You felt so hopeless in these moments, as Dyn had yet to open up to you in a way that could help you soothe him. You didn’t know why he had these nightmares, and when you asked he just brushed it off as an overactive imagination. When you asked about the small green elephant in the room, he changed the conversation around to how much Baby adored you and how beautiful you looked caring for him. You didn’t know where he came from and you didn’t know where he was going and you were sometimes frightened that maybe once he found his place you’d realize all that you really had was something physical propelled by some apparent trauma. Fucking so he didn’t have to think.
You squeezed your eyes shut and you waited for morning, breaking your own heart.
Things reached a fever pitch one evening when you accidentally came across his blaster when looking for more blankets for Baby. He was hesitant in telling you were it came from and It broke you. You had always been patient with Dyn and his emotional vacancy. Eating what scraps he gave you of what was going on inside with desperation for you ultimately believed you would one day be rewarded. But as you stood here, nose red and lips swollen from crying, you realized you had been loving a brick wall.
“I have never pushed you, Dyn. But please, love, let me in.” You sobbed, standing across from him in the dark living room. “Let me love you, let me be here for you.”
“Why do you want to?!” He yelled, shaking his arms out, his eyes starting to go glassy with tears. His tone startled you. He looked away, and you took his face in your hands to turn him back to you. With his eyes closed, and wetness forming under them, you spoke.
“You deserve love, Dyn. And I want to give you all the love that I have. But you gotta let me in.”
You looked at him for a moment, his eyes still closed and you let your head hang low. You felt nauseous before the next words even left your mouth but you were at your end and they had to be said, “But if you can’t.... I can’t do this anymore.”
You felt Dyn stiffen. He clutched your wrists and it almost hurt.
“I can’t....” You sobbed. “I can’t....”
That night he told you everything. The death of his parents. The Mandalorians. The carnage he’s seen. The job that went south but blessed him with his boy. The confusing, unexplainable need to care for the sweet child. His terror in the possibility of still being found. His all consuming love for you. How he thought, if he kept you in the dark, you would be safe.
You spoke for hours, his beautiful head in your lap as he confessed every dark thought that had you feeling a million miles a part in the same room just a little while ago.
He spoke about how he never thought in his life he’d feel any kind of love for anything the way he loved you. That he knew it the moment he heard you humming in the stream that he wanted to hear that voice for the rest of his life.
He apologized for not opening up to you sooner and he promised with all of his being that he trusted you and he was ready to move on with you and Baby.
He fell asleep as you ran your fingers through his dark locks and you swore he looked... lighter.
You woke the next morning still on the couch and the sound of sizzling food and cooing coming from the kitchen. Rubbing your eyes, you follow the sounds and the smells and were met with the most precious sight.
Baby up on the counter, mixing something in a bowl with a wooden spoon almost as big as him and Dyn next to him, flipping through a recipe book with one hand and the other hovering at Baby’s back to brace him in case he were to fall.
Baby squeals at your presence and Dyn looks up giving you his sunshine smile.
“Pancakes and bacon?” He asked as you came around the counter, slipping yourself under his arm. You nodded.
He kissed your head and stopped to smell your hair before saying, “I love you.”
You understood now, and the next night he woke out of breath and in a sweat, you pulled him close to you. His back pressing against your chest and as Dyn squeezed your hand, you whispered, “I’ll protect you.” That night you felt him melt into the mattress for he knew, for the first time in his life, he is safe.
After this, slowly, every day became made up of the most delicate moments. Rubbing the lapels of the burgundy velvet suits you dressed Dyn in for the parties you were invited to by the purchasers of your art. The slow, very slow, walks through the village as Baby began to insist on walking on his own along with you and Dyn. Baby falling asleep against his chest on the walk home. Laying on the beach at the edge of town, brushing the fruit juices & seeds off your lovers moustache as he insisted on eating them whole with his hands. Teaching art classes to the children of the village, watching Baby squish paints in his hands with his little giggling friends. Dyn teaching you how to shoot by the early morning light in the secluded fields behind your cottage. The nights spent in the city to attend art shows, drunkenly laughing and skipping through the streets holding on to each other as the lights swirled in font of you. The communal meals with the village, resting your head on Dyn’s shoulder as he laughed with the other dads. You cherished every moment watching Baby grow up and every moment you got with Dyn alone. The date nights when the ship didn’t even get off the ground, deciding you’d much rather use your alone time to fuck as loud as you wanted without any fear of being walked in on. Looking down at him, his face between your legs as you perched on the same rock next to the stream in the forest. How he always came up to kiss you, his chin shining with your arousal. The way he always commented on his favourite of your clothing, your lower cut, long gauzy dresses. “You look like Mother Nature. My little woodland nymph.” You loved how every moment became a delicate dance, the way he looked at you when you spoke. How he now grabbed you in his sleep, just to have you close. The evenings reading to him on the couch as Baby rolled around between you.
There came a point when you couldn’t even remember the dark days anymore. It was just you, Dyn and Baby and the hazy beautiful moments of your dreamy little life.
“Guess who was doing “tricks” again today” you say, looking up from Baby who is eating in your lap. Dyn sits across from you, he had been watching you feed the child and he blinks.
“Come on buddy”, he groans, rubbing his eyes. Baby coos back loudly with food in it’s mouth.
“Yeah, I’m talkin’ about you!” Dyn jokes, looking right at Baby.
You laugh, bringing the soup a little closer for the sweet green bean to reach and sip himself.
“I just worry that it hurts him.” You sigh.
“So do I.” Dyn says, crossing his arms. “Are the kids egging him on to do it again?”
“Tira swears he does it on his own.”
Dyn uncrosses his arms and leans forward with them out, “Here give me Baby, you eat.”
You lift Baby out of your lap and across the table and his soup follows.
“Can I come into town with you tomorrow?” You ask Dyn as you dig into your dinner.
“Of course, for what?”
“I need more paints. I don’t know, maybe a new canvas. I’m not happy with that.” You respond, nodding towards the half complete work by he corner windows.
“What are you talking about? It’s stunning,” Dyn throws his head back and exclaims, “STUNNING!”
Baby looks up at his loud father with wide eyes. You grin, “Thank you darling but I think I’m losing sight on what the client wants. This might be too much.”
“I’m so proud of you.” Dyn says in regards to the largest commission you’ve ever received, one for the painting you currently hate. “You’re the finest artist in the galaxy.”
You giggle, until you realize Baby is bouncing in daddy’s lap, three tiny fingers grasped around a cutlery knife.
“Ah! Dyn!” You say, pointing to his lap.
“Not a toy!” Dyn scolds, prying the knife out of his boy’s tiny grip.

/////////
It had been almost two months since the whole commotion with the bounty hunters and your injury, and everyone seemed to be settled back in nicely. You were almost completely healed, but still felt some pain if you moved to violently, but with Dyn being by your side the whole time, it made things a lot easier. He had seemed more relaxed since that night, since you both kissed, and the following night when you did a bit more. You flushed at the memory of Dyn slipping the blindfold over your eyes. You were brought from your thoughts when the high pitched squeal of a child pierced the air. You quickly looked down from the pot of stew you were preparing over the fire and saw the child reaching his little hands towards you.
“What?” you asked, a smile adorning your features.
The child just smile up at you and babbles while vaguely grasping at the spoon in your hand, “Ah, you want to taste the food?” you chuckle and spoon out a small amount of soup from the pot and blow on it before leaning down and feeding him some, “here you go -hey!” you were not prepared for the child to take the spoon in his mouth and latch on like it was his life line.
He starts to toddle away as fast as his little legs will carry him. you have to stifle the giggle as you reach out your hand using the force to stop the child mid-step. You hear him let out a muffled noise of surprise as you hold him a few feet from the ground and walk towards him. you grab hold of him, releasing your invisible grip on him and tug the spoon from his mouth.
“It’s not going to disappear little one,” you assure as you sit him down once again to return to the stew, “It will be ready soon.”
You are about to return to stirring the meal when you feel something keeping you from moving the spoon any further. You furrow your brows together and go to move your hand again but it won’t budge. You look behind you to see the kid with his hand extended and eyes closed in concentration. You laugh at his antics and it seems to snap him out of his focus. He releases his grip on you and lets out a loud giggle as he falls back to the ground. You quickly scoop him up and let him watch as you continue to cook.
“He’s getting better,” a familiar voice speaks from behind you.
You turn around, a soft smile adorning your face as you see Dyn coming to crouch by you. you stop stirring and run your fingers over the child’s ears gently, “Yeah, he is. Since I’ve been trying to teach him he seems to have more endurance when it comes to using the Force.” You comment.
Since you had started to heal, and your secret was out to the other villagers since the attack you had been using your powers more flippantly, not feeling that you had to hide anymore. You had also been attempting to teach the child, which proved difficult when he couldn’t speak, but you were making progress. As you looked down at the large eyed child in your arms you were suddenly hyper aware of the fact he doesn’t have a name.
“We should give him a name,” you say looking over at Dyn.
You hear him heave a sigh, “I know, but I’ve never…done anything like this before.”
You chuckle and look back down at the green creature who is now tugging at you hair, “I was thinking the name Faylen, fits him well.” You say wincing slightly as he gives a particularly hard tug.
Dyn nods slowly, “Faylen,” he test out the name, “I like it,” he brushes a gloved finger along the child’s head which earns him a happy gurgle, “so now I guess I have to stop calling him womp rat?”
You let out a loud laugh head falling back slightly, “Yes, I think that would be best.”
You obviously can’t see him through the helmet, but Dyn’s features soften as you laugh, still entranced by each and every thing you do. Your laugh, your smile, the way you scrunch your nose when your frustrated, everything about you makes Dyn fall more in love each day. It also makes him dread the reason he came over here to speak with you. as if you read his thoughts you spoke up.
“Oh, did you need something love?” you turned to face him once again.
Dyn let out a soft sigh, “I think we need to leave,” he said finally, a hint of sadness behind his words.
Your eyebrows knit together and your heart clenches, “But why? It’s safe here, we’ve been fine here for the last few months and nothing has happened,” you tried to reason.
He shook his head and grasped your free hand in his own leather clad one, “I know but-“ he paused knowing that you liked it here, hell you had been living here for many years, “they know we’re here now and I’m just afraid that they won’t stop coming and they will come more prepared next time. I don’t want to put your people in danger any longer. And if-“ he has to force the lump in his throat away, “if you want to stay I understand, but I won’t put anyone else in danger because of my selfishness.”
You don’t say anything for a long time, you just look down at the child, and for a moment Dyn is worried that you won’t go with him, and all his plans for the future would turn to ashes. You finally look up at him a smile once again adorning your features and you squeeze his hand, “I’ve never truly felt at home here Dyn, I mean I have Ariah but she’s truly the only one who ever treated me as fully accepted here,” You glance around the small village as people mill about their days, you look back to the man you love and press a quick kiss to the metal of his helmet, “of course I’ll go with you Dyn.”
Dyn releases a huge breath as a giant smile crossed his face under his helmet, he pulls you into a tight hug causing you to let out a laugh once more, “I’m glad,” he says finally pulling away from you.
You squeeze his hand again before returning to stirring the stew, “When were you thinking we’d leave?”
“Within the week, at least give you time to say goodbye and pack.”
You nodded, a smile still stuck in your face, “Dinner will be ready soon, why don’t you go wash up? I don’t want stinky farm hands in my house.” You tease lightly.
A chuckle escapes Dyn’s lips and he stands sending you a mock salute, “Yes ma’am,” he says before retreating to the home.
You roll your eyes and look down at the child again, before grabbing the pot from above the fire and following Dyn to the house, “What am I going to do with him?” the child just lets out a curious sound, “Yeah I don’t know either.”
///
At first, after you and Dyn had finally confirmed your relationship, it was odd to eat in separate rooms or facing different directions. However now it was normal, as you and Dyn sat with your backs touching and facing opposite directions. You knew it took a lot of trust on his part to do this, to be in the same room with another person without his helmet and trusting that they won’t try to look. You both ate in silence only the occasional sound of clinking silverware and sounds from the child interrupting the silence, so you were surprised when you heard Dyn moving around behind you.
“Are you done eating already?” you had just dished out the stew so he must have been hungry.
The only response you received was two arms snaking around your waist. You gasped and quickly snapped your eyes shut as one of the hands took your bowl and set it aside, “Dyn, what are you doing?”
He doesn’t say anything as he lifts you up as if you weighed nothing and positioned you so you straddled his lap, “I just care about you so much,” he finally offers, voice cracking slightly.
With your eyes still shut you wrap your arms tightly around his midsection and lay your head in the crook of his neck, finally able to open your eyes. he speaks up again.
“I never thought that would have this,” he admits, pulling you tighter against him, “I never thought that I could wake up every day happy and excited to spend it with someone.”
You felt tears burn behind your eyes and you buried your face in his neck, “Oh Dyn,” you whispered leaving a chaste kiss to his neck, “I love you too.”
Dyn had yet to return the words, but he told you in other ways. In the words he said, or the things he did for you, or the quick kisses he would give you before you woke in the morning. You knew he loved you even if he didn’t say it directly. You continued to stay tangled together for several moments, relishing in the rare intimate moments you got to share before Faylen’s cooing brought you back to reality. You closed your eyes as he pulled away from you and donned his helmet once more. You frowned slightly as you opened your eyes and were met with the same beskar you had come to know. While you we’re not upset with him in anyway and you understood that it was The Way, you still longed to actually see the man you love. But you don’t push the subject. You look over to Faylen to see him holding his empty bowl out to you, you smiled and spooned a second helping into the small bowl and giggled as the child cooed happily.
“You know, for a tiny little thing he eats more than you do,” you comment.
Dyn lets out a chuckle and nods, “Yes he does, and I don’t even want to know what his appetite will look like when he gets older.”
You feign a shiver, “we’ll go broke trying to feed our kid,” you joked but stopped short when you say Dyn go rigid. You look to him questioningly.
“Our kid?”
Your eyes widen at the realization of what you said but then relaxed and you shrugged, “Well yeah. We’re together and we both take care of him, we’ve basically adopted him so…” you trailed off now self-conscious of your slip up.
But Dyn just hums lowly before picking up Faylen careful not to spill his food, “our kid…I could get used to the sound of that.”
You blush and duck to start cleaning up the dishes, silently admitting that you liked the sound of it as well.
///
The end of the week had come sooner than you had anticipated and you watched with a slightly heavy yet hopeful heart as Jaleer and some of the other villagers helped Dyn load up the razor crest with your belongings. You had donned your cloak, staff slung over your shoulder.
“I’m going to miss you so much!” Ariah nearly knocks you over as she throws her arms around you, squeezing the life out of you. you hug her back just as fiercely, “There’s nothing that says we won’t visit, or that you can’t visit us.” You assure.
You friend pulls away tears in her eyes, “I know…but now who’s going to help me put Jaleer in his place?” she whines.
You laugh and see Jaleer approach from the ship and sling an arm your shoulders, he had seemed to warm up to both you and Dyn after the whole Chroig ordeal.
“Well I for one am thankful for one less pest hanging around,” he jests rubbing your head playfully. You groan and shove his arms off of you, “Whatever you say Jaleer, I know you’re secretly going to cry when I leave.”
Jaleer rolled his eyes but brought you into a hug anyway, “You know you will always have a home here. If you ever need it.”
You nodded as you pulled away from Jaleer, not missing the newfound respect in his eyes, “I know.”
Dyn walks over and places a hand your waist, “Everything’s ready to go,” he looks over to Jaleer, “thank you again for letting me stay here, and I’m sorry for any ill I may have caused.”
Jaleer shook his head and shook the Mandalorians hand firmly, “Like I said, you both are welcome back anytime. Don’t be strangers.”
Dyn just nods before he looks to you, “You ready?”
You nod a smile creeping onto your face as you hug Ariah one last time before walking with Dyn onto the ship. You wave to the other villagers as they call out various well wishes before the ramp to the ship hisses closed, a certain finality behind it. You let out a small sigh and turn to see Dyn climbing up a ladder and you follow suit, you had never been on his ship until now surprisingly. You watched as he took a seat in the piolets chair and started up the ship. You looked around spotting Faylen sitting in one of the chairs and smiled before picking him up and placing him on your lap as you took his seat.
“So where are we headed? How long will it take us to get there?” you ask.
“It’s actually fairly close, but it’s a surprise.”
“Oh a surprise?” you wiggled your eyebrows, “What has come over you Dyn?”
The Mandalorian just shrugged his shoulders not giving you a definite answer before the ships lifts from the ground. You look out the window as the trees and landscape shrinks further and further away until you are among the stars. Even though you had been in space several times it never ceased to amaze you. You watched as the stars turned into blue-sliver streaks as the ship launched into hyperdrive and it felt like mere seconds before you were dropping out of it. When in reality it had been close to an hour, you were just too deep in though to realize. The planet you were approaching was not as green as you previous planet but it still had some green, with some brown and orange mixed in. And if you thought it couldn’t get any better your breath was sucked from your lungs as Dyn landed the ship near a small cottage nestled among rolling hills and plains. You held onto the child as Dyn grasped your hand and led you from the ship and towards the small, what looked to be a farm. As you approached the small cottage you felt tears well in your eyes, you had never seen a planet so beautiful and calm before. Apparently Faylen agreed because he seemed to let out and awe filled gasp.
“How did you – where did you-“you stumbled over your words, still In shock as you looked at the man beside you.
He shuffled nervously under your gaze, “I still have some connections with a friend that’s still with the Mandalorian’s and she was able to do this for me, for us.” You saw him raise his hands and grasp the rim of the helmet to remove it.
You once again close your eyes, confused as to why he was doing this now. You held Faylen tightly as you grasped for Dyn blindly, unable to find him.
“Dyn what are you doing?” You hear shuffling for a brief moment before a short stint of silence.
“Open your eyes.” his unmodulated voice meets your ears and confusion flow through you.
“But your helmet Dyn, I can’t-“
“Just open them,” he insists, “Please.”
You feel your heart racing, blood rushing in your ears. You were about to see Dyn, actually see him, and for a moment you were scared. This would ruin The Way. He wouldn’t be able to put the helmet back on again. But he’s asking you -no – begging you to look.
So you do.
You slowly peel your eyes open and your hand immediately shoots to your mouth to stifle the gasp that slips out. You quickly scan his face and immediately feel your heart flutter at the handsome man kneeling in front of you. His brown locks tousled from removing his helmet, and dark stubble adorning his face and warm brown eyes looking up at you, a nervous fear in his eyes – wait – Kneeling!
Your brain finally registers what is happening as you see the simple silver rings held delicately between two ungloved fingers. You look from the ring back to Dyn, your brain still trying to catch up with what is happening. But Dyn speaks before you can.
“(Y/N), I had a whole speech planned out, but as soon as you looked at me it flew out the window,” he chuckled nervously before clearing his throat, “You are the love of my life, you have brought me so much happiness and life since the day you saved me in those woods, and I know that we haven’t known each other that –“
“Oh shut up, you idiot, “ you blubber past your tears, “Of course I will!” you throw your free arm around him careful not to squish Faylen, as you nearly knock the man over.
Tears are streaming down your face as Dyn gently pulls away from you, his thumbs wiping away the wet tracks on your face. A watery smile crosses his face as he takes your hand in his own, slipping the ring over your finger.  You let out a breathy chuckle before looking at you future husband and crash your lips to his for what felt like the first time. Dyn smiles into the kiss as your lips move in sync, and it feels like fire is running through his veins. He pulls away from you somewhat reluctantly and rest his forehead on your own, and you rest your newly decorated hand on his cheek, a wide smile on your face once more.
“I love you Dyn Jarren.”
And for the first time Dyn says it back.

Promise | Dyn Jarren (The Mandalorian) x blind!reader (Part 2)
Read part one here
Tumblr media
It had been a little over three months since (Y/n) had meet the Mandalorian bounty hunter Dyn Jarren. In the weeks since, her mother had passed away, leaving her alone with Naalnish. She was more lonely than she thought she'd be. Having someone with her in the house, even if they were just sitting in silence was something she missed. She found herself leaving for the market more often than she used to and more often than needed. Food would be going to waste, but she would still buy more, just for the social interaction.
Winter on the planet had come and the days were cold, too cold for the market to be operational, so it shut down for the season. (Y/n) lay on her couch, leg dangling off the side, warmed up by Naalnish sleeping next to her. It was peaceful. The snow outside dampened the noises of the forest, making the landscape serene and quiet. Naalnish began to growl, snapping his head up towards the door.
"Hey boy. What is it?" She asked. The wolf stood sniffing out the air, sticking his nose up to the window to peer out. If (Y/n) could see his tail wagging, she wouldn't be so scared.
She heard a rapping on the door and slowly stood up walking towards it. She hadn't had a  visitor in so long, she was trembling. Her mother could never offer much protection, but at least she wasn't alone. Her wolf was comforting, but was bred to be docile. She heard knocking again once she finally reached the door. Slowly, she opened it a crack, the cold air rushing in.
     "H-hello?" Her voice shook.
"It's me." She heard a voice say as she felt her hand enveloped in a rough gloved one and brought up to a smooth metal helmet that was freezing to the touch. She smiled, bringing her other hand to pull it off and set it on the table by the door.
     "You came back!" She exclaimed.
"I promised I would." He said, taken the slightest bit aback when she pulled him into a tight hug.
"I know, but I worried about you being in danger. I've been praying for you."
He was touched by her thoughtfulness. She felt goosebumps form on her arms and up and down her back.
"Come in! It's so cold out." She said pulling him inside. "I already had a kettle going. I'll make you something warm to drink."
"Thank you." His voice trailed off, noticing the emptiness of the house as Naalnish sniffed and snuggled him, wagging his tail. "Your mother?" He asked quietly and hesitantly.
"She passed a couple of weeks after you left." She said sitting next to him as she carefully handed him a cup of hot mulled cider.
     "I'm sorry."
"I was...somewhat happy when she went. She was always in so much pain and missed my father so much...now it's over and she's with him again."
"That's a wonderful way to look at things." He said, pulling off his gloves setting them neatly on the table next to the sofa. He began to work at removing more of his armor.
"It's helped me a lot." She said sipping on her drink. He stared at her silently taking in every beautiful feature. He watched as her lips captured the edge of her mug as she sipped her drink and her tongue lick the drop left on her lower lip. He remembered how her lips felt on his.
"How long are you staying?" She asked.
"A while." He said, snapping from his thoughts. She smiled. "I forgot something when I came in."
"Hm?" She hummed, them felt his lips on hers.
"I missed you." He said. She smiled and bit her lip, blushing.
"Did you get any of my messages?"
"I did! My droid read them for me. Unfortunately I have no way to respond. My special communicator broke and I can't get it fixed until spring when the business open up again."
"That's ok." He said. She set down her drink and she could feel him move closer. "Would you ever leave your home and live somewhere else?"
"I don't know. I've been here since I was a child and know my way around so well it might be difficult to be somewhere new, but I guess I could always learn."
"You said you had a ship. Could you live on it?"
"Yeah. It was kind of made to be lived on. It has a living space, a kitchen, refresher and all that. I knowy way around from spending time away on other planets. Visiting family and things like that."
"Does it have a cargo hold?"
     "Yeah."
     "How big is it?"
"I don't know. Big I guess." She laughed. "What's with all the questions?" She heard him sigh as he moved closer, taking her hand in his.
"I don't want to leave you again. I want you to come with me. You have your wolf and your droid to help you, and you would have me. We can live on my ship and you can learn your way around. Or we can live on your ship and we...we can sell mine! I won't need it anymore and maybe we could even get a real home somewhere and-" He noticed himself rambling. "I know we've only known eachother for a short amount of time, but I've thought about you every day. Will you come with me?"
"I...I mean there's nothing for me here anymore. I'm so lonely all the time." She said, thinking hard about his suggestion. "I don't see why not."
"(Y/n)." He sighed a little, nervously. "Will... will you be my wife?"
She was stunned. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. He realised his desperation may have been too brash and regretted ever saying anything.
"This is so sudden I..." She struggled to find the words to say, but remembered how much she missed him. She loved him from the time he first kissed her on the dock and she thought she was being stupid and childish, but she now realised she wasn't. This was real. She smiled and nodded quickly, a wave of relieve washing over him. "Yes."
He smiled wide and caressed her cheek with his hand, pulling her into a kiss. He rested his forehead against hers as he spoke.
"I love you, (Y/n)." He said.
"I love you too." She pulled him into a hug and nestled her face into the crook of his neck. They sat in silence for a while entangled together on the couch as the fire in the fireplace died. She smirked when a thought came to her mind. "You still owe me that book."

The Mandalorian X Male Reader
-
|| Masterlist ||
-
Summary: Soft NSFW
Warning: Blindfolds, passionate, Male x Male.
-
Tumblr media
-
The Mandalorian has been staying in a small village in sorgan and he wasn’t entirely alone. Both child and Y/n were sticking next to his side as they stayed in the village together, it’s been almost a week since the disaster that has happened, the Mandalorian was able to save the people and stop the raids.
It was one night when it happened, y/n was eating dinner with the rest of the villagers and sitting around their fire as he laughs softly and eats the food that was offered to him. Lately he’s been feeling at home, being around these nice people and talking to them without having to make Himself sound like he’s negotiating or hunting down different bounties in order to get paid, no. He felt right at home for some reason. The child was sitting between his legs, drinking his own soup as he lets out small giggles of joy, happy to be around people that were actually kind to him. Y/n gently stroked his tiny ears before looking around to see if could spot the Mando, but to his luck he didn’t see him anywhere near the campfire or by the group. Raising a brow in worry he stands up from his spot. “Think you can take care of him for a bit?” He tells a small group of kids as they giggled and agreed, surround the kid with joys of laughter and happiness.
The younger looking male frowns as he takes a look around the village, Still not spotting the Mandalorian. Y/n sighs deeply and makes his way towards the hutch that they were staying in, the place was dark and quiet not really expecting the Mandalorian to be inside. Turning around to exit the place he is pulled back by his belt, a black blindfold is placed over his eyes. He gasps and struggles against the strangers hold until they placed a hand on their mouth. “It’s just me.”
Y/n froze at the familiar voice that whispered against his ear. His body soon relaxed, feeling the other remove his gloved hand as he gently let’s go of y/n. “Don’t scare me like that!” He hissed out, scrunching his nose in anger. The Mandalorian could only stare at his expression and chuckle at the childish act. “Sorry.” He whispered out and steadys the other one out and pushed him back until he fell onto the small cot that was full of blankets.
The other slowly moved his hands around as he feels around his surroundings, feeling the warm blankets he tilts his head and began to process everything.
Blankets.
Dark room.
Blindfold.
Alone.
Y/n gasps and blushed darkly, listening to where the Mandalorian could be standing he shifts his head towards the sounds and whispers out. “Are you sure this is a good idea? What if someone sees us?!” He says in worry and grips the covers, groaning a little and lying on his back.
The Mandalorian shakes his head and makes his way Over to Y/n, he reaches out to touch his cheek which caused the other to hold still.
He wasn’t wearing his gloves and he could feel his smooth hands against his cheek, without thinking he nuzzled his cheek against it and smiled shyly.
“I’ve got the place secured, no one will see us.” The mando slips off his helmet and sets it down next to the bed, causing a reflection to appear of the two adult males. One lying back on the bed while the other straddled him from above.
Y/n swallows hard and lets out a shaky breath as he felt the others hand travel up his shirt. It wasn’t the first that they’ve done this, they used to do it often when they were alone, before the kid got into their lives. The two already knew the drill when it came to times like this which caused y/n to feel flustered every time he was forced to put on the blindfold. The first couple of times it scared him to wear it because he knew that he wasn’t allowed to see the other and he wants to keep that promise. He wants to promise him that he won’t look at his face and remain blindfold just as he promised.
The couple of times that they’ve done it, y/n had gotten used to the routine. But he couldn’t help but feel shy every time they did it, he remembers the time that he tried to lead but it only ended up a disaster and embarrassing moment for y/n. The mandolarian finally had something to tease y/n about for the next couple of the days together until the kid was brought into their lives. Y/n didn’t mind the child it actually made him feel less lonely each time the Mandalorian would go out to gather supplies for the three of them and to search for a job. He enjoyed the kids company but sometimes he didn’t get enough alone time with his boyfriend.
But today was his chance.
“Dyn...” You breath out between gasps as he feels the others hands move around his torso. Whimpering softly he shifts around the bed to get himself comfortable, he could feel Dyn pull him upward in a sitting position. “What are you-?” He squeaks as he is moved onto the Mandalorian lap, his arms quickly wrap around the Mandos neck as he gasps. “No, we are not doing this again.” He hissed out in embarrassment.
He was sitting on top of Dyns lap, straddling him as he shifts in his position. “It won’t be the same.” Said Dyn, letting a small smile appear on his lips. Y/n struggles Agaisnt his grip and pouts. “No, if we do this again, you will tease for like, ever!” He placed his hands on dyns chest to keep himself balanced, sighing deeply he shakes his head. “Not happening.” He adds through gritted teeth. Dyn on the other hand didn’t listen and was slowly undressing his partner, removing his own as he leans up to distract the other with a hard kiss.
Y/n could only moan against dyns lips, he ran his fingers through his hair and pressed himself up against him with a grin on his face. He was blindfolded but yet somehow he can imagine the expressions that the other was making. Letting a small giggle escape his lips, Dyn turns to raise a brow at his boyfriend. “What’s so funny?”
“Oh nothing, just imagining what you would look like.” He used his fingers to trace every inch of his face, biting his lip as he tries to picture the others face. “Oh you’ve got a hint of stubble.”
“Okay that’s enough.” Dyn removes his hands from his face and lied y/n back down on the bed, hearing the other laugh again he could only roll his eyes. “Your always laughing at something stupid.”
“Yeah, you.”
Dyn frowns and shakes his head. “Yeah but you like it.” Before the other could respond the mando was already kissing up his neck and jawline, causing y/n to gasp, gripping his shoulders softly he leans his head back to give him more access to his neck.
Y/n whimpers as he felt a hand glide down between his legs, he squeaks in surprise and closed his legs shyly. Still feeling shy every time they do this sort of stuff, “Sorry I just can’t help it.” He mumbled out, his face heating up in embarrassment. “It’s okay, I find it kind of cute every time we do it.”
He rolls his eyes under the blind fold and smiles, “Are you always saying something sappy every time we have sex?” He laughs out but is cut by a surprised gasp that escapes his lips, Dyn had distracted y/n enough that he didn’t notice him unbuttoning his pants and slipping them off along with his trousers. Y/n felt Dyn stroking him a couple of times, giving him a few hard bumps as he tightens his hold around the mandos next. “Dyn...” he breaths out.
Dyn liked it when the other would use his name instead of mando durning times like this, he enjoyed it and it made him think that Y/n was special enough to call him by his real name. He only allowed Y/n and the kid to call him by his name ( even though the kid could barely talk. ) Dyn’s head was between his neck and shoulder, hearin gthe breathy means that y/n let out each time he stroked him. “Fuck—“
Y/n felt Dyn shift, he was sitting up and removing his own clothes now. Y/n’s face was all red and hot and his hair was all messy from dyn running his fingers through it. Dyn could only stare down at the other, he liked how messy he was and blindfolded. It only turned him on even more, he works quick to get everything removed.
“Hurry...” Y/n whimpers out and spreads his legs even wider for him to see everything. “I need you—“ he breaths out.
Dyn dives down to kiss the other roughly, using his hand to help the other sit up. Y/n kept his legs Wrapped around his waist and sits back on to his lap. He could feel himself press up against his chest, his hands roam his back side and was able to feel the mandos scars that were left behind many years ago. He used his fingers to trace over them before moaning into the kiss, feeling dyn trace over his lips with his tongue.
“Please—“
“Please what?”
Y/n takes one of his hands and lowers it down between his legs. “I need you inside me...” he whines out as he felt Dyn’s fingers trace around his entrance, he arched his back as he felt him slip a finger or two in. He hissed out in slight pain, he could handle a little pain if he wanted too. He sure as hell was able to handle it during fights.
“There—! Oh god—!” Y/n thrust his hips downwards against dyns fingers. Dyn moves his wrist upward, getting him prepared before he could penetrate him. “We hand to be quiet.” Dyn covers his lovers mouth and thrusts his hand harder agaisnt him causing the other to shiver in surprise and moan against his hand. It didn’t take long for him to get him all prepared, he slowly removes his fingers. Y/n lets out a sob, “Turn around.” Dyn orders as Y/n quickly scrambles of fhis lap and onto the bed, his chest pressed down against the covers as he lets out a small nervous sigh.
He wasn’t internally nervous but excited, they haven’t done this and months and he was a pretty needy guy and wanted attention from the mando everytime they were on their own but they were always getting interrupted before anything could even start.
He felt a hand glide down his back, he shivers from the feeling. “Remember, quiet.” Dyn whispered against his ear before he adjusts himself and enters him slow at first, he hears y/n let out a surprised moan. Gripping the bed sheets he pushed his face into the pillows, feeling himself get adjusted he began to move his own hips, alerting dyn that was ready.
It didn’t take until long for Dyn to get the signal, he began to thrust into him.
The room was filled with moans and gasps, skin slapping agaisnt skin as Y/n grips the pillow and muffled his moans with it. He knows that he has to be quiet but he cant help but let a loud moan or two slip out. This caught the mandos attention, frowning he leans over to place a hand over his lovers mouth. “I said quiet.” He growls out, only causing the other to whine in pleasure.
He could feel Y/n’s breath agaisnt his hand as he thrust harder and faster. “I’m close—“ he says as Y/n shifts his hips a little higher to get a better angle, feeling himself reach his own climax. Dyn gave one last hard thrust that hit agaisnt his prostate, causing Y/n’s eyes too widen under the blindfold as he came hard on the sheets.
Dyn slowly removes his hand and noticed how it was covered in saliva, he turns to the other and reached down to turn him around. Y/n was panting as he lied on his side, sobbing softly as Dyn noticed tears streaming down the blindfold.
He quickly worries and unties the blindfold, removing it.
In one quick motion, y/n reacts quicker and used a cover to toss it over Dyn’s face as he gasps. “What were you thinking?! I can’t see your face remember?!” He exclaimed in a hush whisper, he blinks his eyes, getting adjusted to the dark room.
Dyn lets himself relax as he reached up to grab a hold of Y/n’s wrists. “You were crying—“
“I wasn’t crying you idiot!” Y/n was blushing hard as he looks away.
“I was—it just—“ he groans out, spotting the blindfold he quickly puts it on and removes the covers from the mandos face. “It just felt really good...” he mumbles out shyly and rubs his own arm.
“You had me worried I thought I hurt you.”
“Hurt me? I don’t think so.”
Dyn felt relieved knowing that he didn’t hurt his own lover, “Thats good.” He pulls him close and placed a kiss onto his head. “Your even sappy after sex.” He lets the joke slip as Dyn smirks at him. “Then how about a second round?”
“What—?! No!”
Y/n squeaks in surprise when he is being attacked by kisses all over his face, giggling he falls back onto the bed with his arms around his lover.

Mandalorian: Removing his Helmet (Part One)
In episode four, we get a little more background on the Mando and the new tradition of Mandalorians never removing their helmets. We are first introduced to this idea when Heavy Infantry tries to remove Mando’s in episode three.
Tumblr media
We learn that the helmet is tied to their identity as a Mandalorian. Mando further explains that if he ever removes his helmet in front of another then he won’t be able to put it back on. So what it means to be Mandalorian is tied up in their helmet and wearing their helmet.
We also get a little more of a background into Mando’s own experience as a Mandalorian especially with this tradition of never removing your helmet:
Omera: “How long has it been since you’ve taken that off?”
Mando: “Yesterday.”
Omera: “I mean, in front of someone else.”
Mando: “I wasn’t much older than they are.” [points to a group of children]
Omera: “You haven’t shown your face to anyone else since you were a kid?”
Mando: “No. I was...happy that they took me in. My parents were killed and the Mandalorians took care of me.”
First, while I love Mando’s sass (he didn’t need to say “yesterday”; he knew what she was trying to say--this could also be seen as trying to avoid the topic though too), it’s important to know that the Mandalorians can take their helmets off. It’s only a matter of taking it off when alone to maintain the secrecy. This has an interesting effect as it allows others to only see them as Mandalorians. Even those you are close will see the Mandalorians only as Mandalorians. Whoever they are under the helmet basically doesn’t exist. Their only identity is that of a Mandalorian. This could also be why none of the Mandalorians use names and why the watchers don’t get any names for the Mandalorians. It makes me curious if we will ever get Mando’s name within the show.
(Considering that Pedro Pascal did say that his name is Dyn Jarren makes me think that they might. Otherwise, why come up with a name with Mando at all? It makes me wonder if we will get Mando revealing his name or if it will come in a flashback, said by his parents. If it is the latter, then that will still mean Mando’s identity is only as a Mandalorian. If Mando doesn’t use his name as an adult, he is only the Mandalorian and not Dyn Jarren. Because others can only see him as a Mandalorian, it could be argued that he can only see himself as a Mandalorian, not as Dyn Jarren.)
Second, when Mando does remove his helmet to eat (and the watcher doesn’t get to see his face, creating the sole identity of him as Mandalorian for the watcher as well), he does so in front of a window and looks out.
Tumblr media
I’ve seen a couple of post about how this is sweet because he is looking at Baby Yoda without his helmet on or it shows how much he is willing to risk for Omera (watching her even if she looks back and sees him without his helmet), but I took it another way mainly due to the dialogue from the previous scene. I think Mando is looking at children playing, living the life he never had, and the community he can never be a part of.
Mando looks out at the children he just compared himself to, the children he could never be like. Unlike them who can run around and play, basically just being kids, he put on the helmet when the Mandalorians found him and raised him as a Mandalorian. In this way, he was denied a normal childhood. And I think he realizes this too.
“No. I was...happy that they took me in.” I added the ellipses here to show how Mando pauses before saying he was “happy” that the Mandalorians took him in. This made me question if he really was happy that they took him in, that they made him a Mandalorian. I doubt he was presented with much of a choice either. If the Mandalorians took him in, he would have to adhere to their way of life and follow the Way of the Mandalore. The fact that it was the “Mandalorians” (plural, not singular) who took him in makes me think that it was the Mandalorian tribe as a whole that raised him, not a single one who acted as his parent/father (as I mentioned in further detail here) .
If we take this model of a young child being taken/found by a group of people and raised with the values/training of that group, all without a figure to act as a parent, we can see two other times this technique has been used: padawans for the Jedi and soldiers for the First Order (who based this idea of the Jedi). In both cases, the Jedi and the First Order, the children that are taken/found aren’t given any other choice but to adapt to the lifestyle that has taken them in. In both cases, these groups defy these children and how they grow up as an adult.
The same could be applied to the Mandalorians. If they found an orphan, I believe they would take the child in as a Foundling as long as the child was willing to learn the Way of the Mandalore. But, in a war zone and without parents, would a child have much of a choice? In order to survive, the child would more than likely be willing to join the Mandalorians and allow himself to be assimilated into Mandalorian culture.
This is not to say that I think that Mando is spiteful towards the Mandalorians. I believe he is grateful to them for saving him and taking care of him. I think he just realizes that he missed out on a normal life. He wasn’t able to be a child like the ones he is watching play. Moreso, because he was made into a Mandalorian, he can’t have a normal life.
Not only does he see the children when he looked out. He sees Baby Yoda playing as well as Omera crouching down to watch as she gives Winta a hug. Basically, he is getting a glimpse of the life that was denied to him and that he thinks he can never have. He never had the chance to be a child, playing freely like that. He can’t grow up with that same innocence and become a loving person like Omera who can so freely show her affection to her daughter. He can’t have a close relationship with Omera. He can’t live in this peaceful community. When he looks out, he sees the life that he never had and can’t have because of that helmet. So by taking off the helmet and looking out, he has this moment of connection between the life he sees and the one he can’t have because of his helmet. He is able to at least imagine what life could have been like if he wasn’t Mandalorian.
