Hey I found a very lovely page with a lot of stuff that's important to me as a non-binary person. The page makes me very happy! I'm just nervous about one thing: is l//dyboy a slur? The page has that in its name and I don't know if it's a slur and if it is who can reclaim it. Sorry if this is a weird question.

is f*mboy a slur? (censoring just in case) i’ve seen people saying it is and others saying it isn’t. i’m confused, i thought it was just a portmanteau of feminine and boy that feminine guys used to describe themselves. does it have another meaning i’m not aware of?

Honestly, I always thought it was a word for trans men/transmascs (and men-leaning nonbinary people), in the same way as c*ntboy but less severe. 

So when people started saying it was a slur, I thought that made sense. 

But then I saw they said it was for trans women, being instead similar to how sissy is used in porn in place of acknowledging trans women as women or imply that they’re still actually men. Which also kind of makes sense. 

But I really don’t know. It’s not something I know a lot about. 

According to UrbanDictionary entries as far back as 2009, it referred to “biological males” who are overtly feminine, but are also young (including minors), with no particular implication on orientation or transgender status. 

A 2004 entry implies it simply refers to attractive men who are not buff/macho and are like anime characters. 

That’s not exactly reliable, however, as plenty of words that supposedly “just mean feminine guy” are frequently applied to trans women. A 2008 entry literally says it’s the same as l*dyboy, which is in fact a derisive word towards trans women (particularly asian trans women). A 2003 entry implies it’s a crossdressing gay man, which is something trans women are often called/considered, and another entry says it’s a word for an emasculated man.

It’s not something I can really speak on, I never saw it a lot in common speech and I’m TME. I haven’t seen any citations on either side besides looking at this UrbanDictionary page.

Ich war grade zum ersten mal bei einer Therapeutin (hauptsächlich auf der Suche nach einer Hormonindikation) und es war schrecklich, deshalb wollte ich hier alle warnen, nicht Frau Dr. Försterling in Berlin aufzusuchen. He’s transphobic and misogynistic. He said a few months ago that he’s not gonna let cis women compete and said trans women who have medically transitioned had an advantage comparable to enhancement drugs for athletes. Also he’s still making money off many songs with trans slurs (responsitr*nnity, tr*nnny chaser, l*dyboy, plus some that have slurs in the lyrics like glamazon), plus the pearl thing, plus he didn’t include a scene in gia’s last episode where she confronted him about his transphobic comments. He has a complete disregard for his queens (so much so that he doesn’t even know their names, and not like, he can’t remember magnolia crawford, he literally did not know kim chi’s name).
