Brianna was treated unfairly by all characters except her parents, and I really wand to fight people on her behalf.

I don't actually care about Farid anymore - he's just here to honor my 14 year old self.

Jehan Jr was cute, and I hope Dustfinger manages to become the father he deserves

The funniest thing about the quasi-polycule Mo/Resa/Staubfinger/Roxane is. Mo/Resa & Staubfinger/Roxane? Obvious, are happily married, have/had multiple children together. Resa/Staubfinger? Lowkey canon as well, certainly have History together and feelings for each other. Mo/Staubfinger? Came back from the dead together, know each other's hearts as well as their own etc. Resa/Roxane? Grew close fast despite everything, extremely shippable. Mo/Roxane? Uh. Well. Sometimes they were in the same place at the same time, I guess???

As a young girl, Lilia spent a year living with Roxane and was like a little sister to Jehan and Brianna

She lives with the "Women in the Forest" and is a sort of plant whisperer. Plants obey her the same way fire obeys Dustfinger.

Her forehead is covered with plant tattoos: Brambles, thistles, a wild rose.

The gesture is so simple - the faintest brush of fingers across the back of her hand - but it easily sets the rhythm of her heartbeat to a fluttering frenzy that feels as utterly ridiculous as it is exciting. Heat blooms across her cheeks as her fingers seem to move of their own accord, first towards his and then curling into a fist at her side.

Over the years, so many men had vied for her affection. Who is to say this is any different? Who is to say that his intentions are any more noble? Who is to say it is love that is growing between them and not a desire for possession?

Though as she takes in his profile from her peripheral, she knows. Of course, she knows. It isn’t just anyone from any random village. It’s Dustfinger. He does not want to make an honest woman of her because he has no desire to make an honest man of himself. He does not wish to stifle her spirit because it is that which he has come to know, not some beautiful caricatured woman twirling around the village square. She has not hidden herself from him and thus he has seen all of her and still his - dare she call it love - never seemed to waver. Of course.

It was just a moment of doubt and how silly it had been.

Lips curving into a smile, she lets her fingers reach out again. A ghost of a spark still lingers on her skin where he touched her before and it reignites as she laces her fingers through his, turning fully to cast that smile his way.
