What do you like about leghorns

ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING 11/10 PERFECT CREATURES NO NOTES

But no for real, I am so charmed by what big personalities fit inside these little birds. Obviously every bird is an individual and won't always conform to typical personalities, but in my experience leghorns tend to be very bright, lively birds with a good bit of endearing sass to them. They also have a wonderful Chape (chicken shape) with their prominent straight tails, adorabley floppy facemeats, and sleek build.

I did not expect to be so endeared to them when I first added a little white leghorn to the group when picking out my flock as babies years ago (or again years later when a little brown leghorn essentially fell into my lap via spawning in my friend's backyard like a random encounter) but they have quickly become one of my favorite breeds. "are you the leader?" he addresses her, trying to enunciate as loud and stern as he can with the tip of a blade pressed to his chin. it's rhetorical, really. he knows power, knows its quiet waves. for a fraction of a second, though, her smug demeanor is replaced by the purest surprise, flickering on her face when she meets his eye. then it's gone. "prince carlos. your highness," she addresses him, equal parts amused and disdainful, clearly holding no esteem nor reverence for the honorific. "you're a long way from your palace." she sees him for what he is, for what she saw all those years ago on her only trip to the capital—a child in fine silks smiling at the crowds from a gold and red carriage, and those big brown eyes that have never had to beg for food. or for his life. "an usurper sits on my throne," he speaks. at his words, the guard dog presses his blade harder against the fallen heir's neck, but carlos only steels himself, facing the mercenary queen dead in the eye. she knows this, of course—rumors of a coup and a crown prince on the run are worth a king's ransom. "I came to you to take my kingdom back. your manpower... in exchange for my riches." murmurs rise from the crowd, some outraged, others perplexed, but without so much as a gesture she has the assembly quiet as soon as she speaks. "a bold offer." "I am a bold man." she stares him down a moment longer, reading the very fires of grit in his soul. the candid face of a man who still believes there's such a thing as a noble death. "speak, your highness. I'm listening."

okay but the real question is if you’re writing a fic that has multiple egos in it and you have to describe what they look like… cuz the reader is meeting them for the first time…. but they all look the same… because mark plays all of them… like how do you do that

One does not simply ignore the fact that you fake-kissed while on a mission.

Sabine and Ezra had not spoken in sixteen days.

People were getting suspicious.

Something had to be done.

So, Sabine woman’d up, and cornered Ezra in the Phantom.

“We need to talk,” she announced, a little more menacingly than she meant to.

She kind of expected him to panic and start stammering, but instead he let out a huge sigh of relief.

“Yeah,” he agreed. “We really need to talk.”

“Yeah…” Sabine echoed, suddenly unsure where to go with the conversation. She’d prepared this in her head with him being freaked out, not with him just as eager to get this talked over as she was.

“I don’t think pretending it didn’t happen is working,” he said, after a long pause.

“Brilliant observation, genius. What could possibly have clued you in?” she asked, defaulting to sarcasm before she could stop herself.

Ezra took it with a grin. “I think it was the time you were so concentrated on not looking at me that you walked into a door.”

She… had no idea where to go with that. Because he was right. She’d walked into a door because of him and his stupid pretty eyes. (Not that he knew about the stupid pretty eyes part.)

Ezra flipped down one of the seats, and gestured for her to sit across from him. She did, and he leaned forward, propping his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands.

“Remember how I said you were the best friend I could ever have asked for?” he asked.

“I think your exact words were coolest friend.”

“Best friend, coolest friend… either way.” Ezra seemed to gather himself, then spoke quickly. “Kissing is not something the average person does with their best coolest friend.”

Sabine startled so hard she almost fell out of her seat. “Okay, when I said we needed to talk about it, I didn’t mean so—bluntly—”

He held up his hands and gave her a pleading look. “Just hear me out?”

“…fine. Whatever.”

“Pretending we didn’t kiss is just going to kriff up everything.”

Sabine cleared her throat, feeling red creep up her cheeks. “Can we just… not say…  the, uh… ‘k-word’?”

“Sure. Pretending we didn’t kiss is just going to mess up everything.”

“That wasn’t the k-word I was—”

Sabine stopped as she saw the smile on his face.

He was joking.

But... oh, karabast, that smile.

Her heart started rattling a rapid beat in her chest and she was suddenly short on breath.

She stood up quickly, which did not help with either of those problems. “I need my helmet for this discussion.”
