I was watching Adventure Time and saw Grob Gob Glob Grod, who is a deity very reminiscent of Dantalion with its multiple faces.

He holds a grimoire in his right hand, which is a grimoire of the high art. Dantalion reveals the secret council or thoughts of others, which in an initiatory context means that Dantalion may provide the magician to begin to understand the common psychology of human thinking based on cause, body language, and such. He can also cause the union of individuals that it may be probable, and a guide to other beautiful places in the world.

“What’cha got there?”

It was the first thing Z asked as soon as you sat down in the booth, and you paused briefly before settling fully into the seat. As much of a non-sequitur as the query was, you weren’t too surprised. After all, you had turned up at a bar with a book thicker than the table between the both of you held under your arm. That would have already been strange enough, were it not for the title.

The demon wrinkled his nose at the shiny Gothic-style lettering embossed on the cover. “The Dark Grimoire: The Art of Demonic Entities and Magickal Forces–? Human, what the fuck is that?”

“What?” You blinked innocently. “Is it wrong to want to find out more about you?”

“There is nothing about me that would turn up in that trashy abomination of a book,” Z hissed at the hardback volume, his tail whipping back and forth in agitated motions. “For hell’s sake, they didn’t even get the sigil right.”

You studied the silver shape on the cover; a complex array of loops, straight lines, and crescent moons all enclosed within a double-ringed circle. You decided to take Z’s word for it, but still pulled the book closer to yourself and out of range of dark claws that had gouged furious grooves into the table’s surface.

“Well, don’t you want to know what humans think about demons?” You pointed out reasonably, to which Z made a face like you’d crammed a lemon into his mouth – rind and all. You tried again. “I wouldn’t mind if you read up on what humans are like. Do you even know anything about us?”

The demon scoffed, puffing out his chest proudly. “Oh please. I have been around since before humanity was a speck on the cosmic horizon. There is nothing about you little beings that is beyond my understanding.”

“Cool. Quick question: how many bones are inside my body?”

“Fuck if I know. At least 10?” Z shrugged, ignoring your unimpressed stare in favour of a sly smirk. “Though it could be 11 if we–”

“Oh, look at that. It’s time to shut up and read!” You interrupted loudly. “No talking during reading time!” You cracked open the book and planted it in front of your face, perfectly obscuring your view of Z who immediately began to whine.

“Oh come on,” he reached over, clearly planning to snatch the book, but you leaned further away. With a sigh, Z folded his arms across the table and sank into a melodramatic malaise. “Seriously, Dove? You’re going to read a trashy, fake book about demons when you’ve got a real, bona-fide infernal entity in the flesh right next to you? I’m hurt. I may never recover.”

“There’s no talking during reading time,” you mumbled again, surprisingly finding yourself more engrossed in the book. Most of what you knew about demons came from pop culture references and video games. Even if most of the book was made up nonsense, you still recognized some of the names.

Z hissed and clicked his teeth. Then he perked up with a grin. “Well, if you find that pile of rancid waste so interesting, then I can’t help but be curious,” he hummed. “Read to me.”

The look you shot Z was skeptical. “Really?” The request was so out of character that you felt the need to ask, to be certain. “You want me…to read aloud to you?”

“That a problem?” He asked, batting his lashes. Or at least you assumed that was what he did. His eyes were almost impossible to see beneath the mop of brown that could charitably be described as a hairstyle. “What can I say, I am an enjoyer of the literary arts.”

“Right,” you drawled. Your every sense told you that this was a trap, a trick of some sort, but how? You were the one who had brought the book, and Z was on the other side of the table. Reluctantly, eying him all the while, you slowly lifted the pages and returned your attention to the words on the paper. “And lo, the Seventy-first Spirit is Dantalion. He is a Duke Great and Mighty, appearing in the Form of a Man with many Countenances, all Men's and Women's Faces; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any – ngh!”

“What was that, Dove?” Z tilted his head, a beatific smile on his lips. Under the table, the tip of his tail slipped into the gap between your underwear and skin and pressed between your legs. It curled teasingly, the flat shape of it sliding further inch by agonizingly slow inch. “Sorry, I didn’t catch that. Something about being a nerd I guess?”

“Z–!” You tried to sound firm, but a flex of his tail dissolved the rest of whatever you might have said.

The demon clicked their tongue with a smile. “Hm, no I don’t think that’s what comes next, dummy.”

Tears beaded at the corner of your eyes, blurring your vision. Your thighs twitched and shook beneath the bar, and you clapped a hand over your mouth to stifle the whimpers that threatened to pour out. The muffled sound of distant conversations sent a flood of red-hot mortification sweeping over you, and you quickly glanced around the bar to check that no one was watching.

Immediately, Z lunged across the table and grabbed your face, forcing your eyes to meet his. His tail flexed, pumping faster. “Don’t look at them, Dove. This isn’t about them. Keep reading.”

You tried. The book felt heavy in your clumsy hands, body sensitized and aching for release. The words swam before your eyes until, with a muffled gasp, you gave up – soaking your pants and Z’s tail before collapsing face-down on the table.

The demon had the nerve to tut with faux disapproval. “Aw, poor baby,” he hummed condescendingly, relishing your whine as he slowly pulled his tail out from your underwear. Your cheeks went hot at the sight of it, shiny, slick, and dripping with your juices. Z brought the appendage to his lips and – maintaining eye contact all the while – dragged his tongue over it, licking the flared tip clean as if you were a gourmet meal to be savoured.

“Such a messy human,” he teased, sitting back down and placing his chin in his hands. “How unfortunate. I suppose you’ll just have to start all over again.”

Lucifer/Diavolo

If you read my blog, you know I ship Dialuci. Diavolo and Lucifer have four kids. One boy and triplet girls. Luci didn't really want the last three, but via magical conception, Dia forced it.

Their oldest is named Demonio Barbatos Morningstar Rex. He looks almost exactly like Diavolo and acts exactly like Lucifer. He's the crowned prince, though he has no desire for the throne.

The oldest triplet is named Alecto Lilith Morningstar Rex. She has black hair and red eyes. Her skin is dark like Dia's and she has his smile, but she has Luci's feathered wings. She's very outgoing and wants the throne.

The middle triplet is named Megaera Azalea Morningstar Rex. She has black hair and pale skin, but other than that she looks like Diavolo (he has the strongest fucking genes, man). She's not outgoing, but she's not quiet either. She's a troublemaker

The youngest triplet is named Tisiphone Metztli Morningstar Rex. She has red eyes and tan skin, but she also looks a whole lot like Diavolo. She's on the quieter side and acts a lot like Satan.

Mammon

If you know my future au, you know that my MC(s) aren't in a poly relationship with all the brothers. I'll get to what each MC (Female, male, and non-binary) get up to later.

Mammon marries a siren demoness from the wrath ring named Aezorin (Zori for short). They have two daughters.

The oldest is Kairi Lorelei Idreius. She is a trans woman. She's very nice and responsible, but also has quite the temper. She has white hair and blue eyes like her father and the dark skin and height of her mother.

The youngest is Rezarta Marigold (Goldie) Idreius. She has gold hair and blue eyes, as well as lighter dark skin like her father. She's very chaotic and has the greed of her father. She's a siren.

Satan

Satan gets with a very nice, small albino bat greed demoness. Her name is Metztli (Metzi) Rex and she's the adoptive sister of Diavolo.

Satan really wanted to prove he could be a good dad to a son, so he adopted a boy named Neo Diavolo (chosen by Metzi) Morningstar.

Neo is a very traumatized little boy who's selectively mute (I think that's what the term is) He's a chameleon demon, so he copied his appearance to look like Satan.

Beelzebub

Beel gets married to a wonderful trans woman gluttony demon named Dahlia. She's a bee demon. Not important, I just like to mention it. They have three children. A daughter and twins.

The oldest is Chiyoko Lilith Toth. She's quiet and responsible. She takes care of her younger siblings. She's the oldest of all the kids. She has her mother's black and yellow hair and her father's pale skin. Her eyes are purple like her dad.

The twins are Yuzuki Belphegor Toth and Akino Lucifer Toth. Yuzuki looks a weird amount like Belphie and Akino looks like Beel. Yuzuki is the older boy and Akino is the younger girl.

Mephistopheles

Might as well include the Diavolo lover. He gets married to a fellow Duke named Dantalion Iram (Dante). If you want to learn more about that guy, go read Jealous Boy (shameless self promotion)

They have four kids. Two girls, two boys. I don't have names for them yet because I don't think about Mephisto, so if you have name suggestions, feel free to give them to me!

Simeon

Simeon ends up with M!MC (who also doesn't have a name...) They have one kid, a girl. She's named Riley. She looks mostly like Simeon with a bit of MC's characteristics.

You might be thinking. But Mars! What about everyone else? Well, everyone else doesn't have kids or I haven't made them yet. But! Here's who everyone ends up with.

Levi: Adra, who's a friend from his nerd clubs. They don't know whether they're dating or just friends. They don't have kids.

Asmo: Solomon and two other partners named Dev and Ari. Dev is an incubus and Ari is a succubus. They don't have kids.

Belphie: Aroace!! He lives with Beel, Dahlia, and their kids.

Barbatos: Aroace!! He takes care of the Dialuci kids when Luci is too exhausted and Dia is being the child he is at heart.

Raphael: Aroace!! He lives in the Celestial Realm

Thirteen: F!MC! MC becomes a reaper and they live happily ever after.

NB!MC: Aroace!! They're chilling in the human realm and learned how to be immortal from Solomon. They still hang out with him a lot.

Half meta, half ramble

Not entirely sure where this post is going, tbh... Let's find out, eh?

Sooo... I was browsing the Final Fantasy wiki (as one does) and the article for Tantarian (an optional/missable boss in FF9) caught my attention. Y'see, Tantarian is a demon found in a library, hiding in a possessed book -- and is based on the Great Duke of Hell, Dantalion (or Dantalian, the spelling can be inconsistent). How the ever-loving wossname, I hear you cry, does this relate to Good Omens????

Let's take a closer look! (this got longer than I anticipated, hence the cut)

From the Wikipedia article 'List of demons in the Ars Goetia':

"The Seventy-first Spirit is Dantalion. He is a Duke Great and Mighty, appearing in the Form of a Man with many Countenances, all Men's and Women's Faces; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one; for he knoweth the Thoughts of all Men and Women, and can change them at his Will. He can cause Love, and show the Similitude of any person, and show the same by a Vision, let them be in what part of the World they Will."

Bolded details:

"Duke Great and Mighty" -- evocative of the whole "Thin Dark Duke" thing <3

" [...] he hath a Book in his right hand." -- pretty obvious GO connection there!

(best 'Azzy+book(s)' gif I could find quickly...although on a second look, this might well be from the body swap bit in S1 XD Mr Sheen, you ludicrously talented chaos gremlin, you <3 )

(Ok, this one's definitely Crowley XD)

Mah point is dolphins they both match up to the book thing!

"His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences [...]" -- leaning slightly more towards a Crowley parallel here, with the apple thing partly symbolising intellectual curiosity (essential part of arts and sciences!), but Aziraphale giving away the flaming sword would've helped humanity figure things out in that area as well (even if indirectly)

(I want to boop the snek!!!)

"[...] knoweth the Thoughts of all Men and Women, and can change them at his Will [...]" -- mind-reading! Seems to be sliiiiiightly more of a demon thing from what we've seen (e.g. "Nina: It's like you've seen into my secret soul. Crowley: Yeah, it's a knack.", Shax picking at insecurities in the bookshop battle), but both the Ineffables have directly influenced human minds on screen (e.g. Sitis, the Shopkeepers' Ball)

"[...] can cause Love [...]" -- well, they certainly tried! Operation: Shop Lesbians :D

"[...] show the Similitude of any person [...]" -- mostly seen with the body swap bit so far (where A+C are concerned), but given that for angels and demons, size and shape are merely options, and Beelzebub canonically changed their face, it's not outwith the bounds of possibility that the Ineffable Husbands could disguise themselves as people other than each other (if that makes sense)(and assuming they'd *want* to, of course)

Plus, if you go with the 'Dantalion' spelling, the last four letters form the word 'lion', which is a motif the show ties pretty strongly to Aziraphale via the signet ring on his right hand. Fierce protector angel! <3

Plus plus, from what I've been able to gather, Dantalion is supposed to be one of the more benevolently-inclined Goetic demons -- both the Ineffables are pretty dang benevolent!

The point I'm stumbling towards (stone-cold sober, but with about 3,000,000 on the ND Scoville scale) is that Dantalian/Dantalion has some pretty interesting parallels to both the Ineffable Husbands and so, within the GO verse, could be either another alias of Crowley's or a name Aziraphale might take if he Fell (AU fic writers, start your engines!) :D

As a small bonus, I saw the name 'Shax' mentioned in the list of Marquises of Hell!

The characteristics given for the Goetic Shax don't really match up to TV!Shax that I can tell, apart from the stork symbolism and the "hoarse but subtle voice" (and maaaybe 'is thought to be faithful and obedient, but is a great liar'), but given all the other Goetic parallels, it wouldn't surprise me to see elements of the Goetic description popping up in Shax's S3 arc -- likely in unexpected ways!

The Teachers Familiars

I tried to guess what were the familiars of the others teachers, since we have seen only Balam's familiar (and Cerberus but he's not a familiar).

So i used Demonology to help me

Ifrit

I think he's in the same situation that Kalego, his "spirit" of fire is the manifestation of his magic and he can't have a familiar because of it.

But if he HAD a Familiar, it would probably be a phoenix, since Ifrit fire is stated to be the most pure of all fires.

Dantalion

He's apparently a demon who can make a lot of different forms. but no mentions of a animal with him.

I could see him having a DRAGON, since he sees his students like a tresor that he must protect.

(and i joked with other persons about him turning SUPER overprotective in his wicked phase)

Suzy

No mention of any animals in his desciption; except the form that he can take when he's summoned by human (who is commun to a lot of demons, yeah a lot seems to take a lion form) :/  (so if Iruma had summoned him, he would have been a adorable little lion? XD)

I had one time joked that Marbas could have a cute (but super dangerous) familiar to contrast with his **fanboy of torture tools** side.

Robin

in demonology, the demon Barbatos is associated to a bear.

So Robin could have demoniac bear or he could have a hawk or a eagle who are associated to good eyes (he's kinda a sniper with his bow).

Orias

And also ""The Fifty-ninth Spirit is Oriax, or Orias. He is a Great Marquis, and appeareth in the Form of a Lion, 3 riding upon a Horse Mighty and Strong, with a Serpent's Tail; 4 and he holdeth in his Right Hand two Great Serpents hissing.""

So it's likely that Orias Familiar would be a horse with a serpent's tail. Maybe with wings too.

Ipos

So his familiar could be a jackal, maybe? or maybe a Howl since this bird is associated by knowledge and strategy? or maybe mix of Jackal and owl?

Murmur

So his familiar may be a vulture or a griffin. i rather the griffin, it's more badass. XD

Buer

So his familiar could be a kind of horse/kind of centaur, or maybe a snake since it's a animal who is often associated to medicine.

The story mostly follows along Snowball, a famous fashion designer sinner, who works with a succubus, he’s mostly a photographer and a bother,,, Snow is the smallest of his Freind’s, but that doesn’t make him the weakest,, he’s been running his business in the pride ring sense the late 80s, let’s just say he’s got a lot of skeletons in his many velvet lines closets.

Paris (said bother) is your party animal best friend, and is all over just a hot mess,, and he’s hopelessly in love with the non committal Duke of love..

Duke Dantalion, a member of the Goetia family, represented by a crow. He’s in charge of people’s fates of loves, and the strings that attach your romantic relations together, due to his job, he is fated to No one, and is not aloud to partake in relations himself.

Jax is Snowballs body guard, Snow found him on the street after watching Jax beat up another group of sinners (Snow doesn’t have the best history with his bodyguards Lmao) Jax didn’t know who Snow was when they first met, he only accepted the job because he needed somewhere to live.

Trixi! She’s out girl boss assistant who has definitely seen to much, but she’s got a good work ethic,, she’s also secretly in love with Smowballs best Freind’s (seen in the last photo , bottom. (Shoutout to my bestys character Darby)) assistant. (The other assistant is not shown lmao)

Hello! So, this fic is very self-indulgent, using one of the characters I basically created. Here's an excerpt from the fic to explain him.

"Dantalion Iram, Duke of the Wrath Ring. Unrelated to the original royal family, but powerful. Mephisto, a fellow duke, called him Dante for short. He was an only child like Diavolo and looked quite similar, but he was missing the signature dragon-like wings all the demon kings shared. He was a wrath demon, like Satan, though he didn’t have nearly as much control as he had."

This is the description of the fic:

"The hallway was thick with fear. Any demon within 60 feet was trying to make themselves seem bigger and anyone with common sense was getting ready to flee. The braver ones — and the more idiotic ones — turned their eyes to the source of everyone’s fear. Some demons were already leaving the hall, trying to save their own skin from whatever was about to happen.

After all, hell hath no fury like a demon king when he’s met with a rival flirting with his queen."

The basis of the fic is a rival (Dante) shows up and flirts and takes Luci out on dates, making Diavolo jealous. It's called Jealous Boy (possibly temporary name). I just got finished with the part where Dante kisses Lucifer after their first date and Luci is like "Well frick maybe I do have feelings for him"
