Hi, how are you doing?
🌹🌹🌹🌹. Please and thank you.
And sending hugs!
First, sending this:
And thank you for the hugs and the request! :D
I sent extra so it would make sense lol
“Uncle Duey?”
“Tyler?”
“We can talk about THAT later.”
“He’s Uncle Dewey ‘cause when he visits, there’s THREE of us,” Millie explains, holding up the exact number of fingers. “There’s him, momma, and me. Like on the cartoon. Huey. Duey, and Louie. I came up with it! All my myself!”
“That’s because you are very smart,” Alcott praises. “Like your mum. And you also let me pick which I wanted, didn’t ya. And do you remember why I choose what I did? Why I picked Duey?”
Millie launches into a near-perfect English accent. “‘Cause the other two sounded like right wankers.”

Ducktales, Woo-hoo!
I watch a lot of cartoons. In recent years (starting around 2012), Disney have come out with a series of really great serialized cartoon series that tend to gather a large following. Of these serialized cartoons, one of these was a reboot of the beloved series Ducktales from the 90's.
In this new spectacular reboot, the beloved characters Hewey, Duey and Louie get a fresh coat of paint, along with a new exciting story plus much more adventures in the town of Duckburg and beyond. I unfortunately didn't have the pleasure of starting this show when it first aired, but caught on rather quickly to the excitement that the show had to offer. Because who wouldn't? Each week, the show would have a new exciting mystery and or adventure to watch the Duck family unravel! Ducktales is a lighthearted, fun and exciting watch for all ages.
The show aired starting and 2017, and came to its unfortunate end in 2021, after being cancelled by the Disney Company. This wasn't without the fans being able to see the final episode of the series that aired on March 15, 2021, since it did not receive the ratings Disney had initially expected from the show.
Now, though this show wasn't nearly as exciting as fan favorites like Gravity Falls, Amphibia and Owl House (of which I will cover at a later date)., but I still found the show to be extremely enjoyable. As someone coming into this show blindly, and without watching the original, I was very pleasantly surprised, with very few complaints regarding the series.
I felt that the show did a really nice job at diving deep into the characters in Disney's already established Duck family, consisting of Hewey, Dewey, Louie, the filthy rich Scrooge McDuck and their Uncle the famous Donald Duck. But not only that, but they also expanded upon the canon of the Duck family by introducing a new character who quickly becomes part of the family: Webbigal "Webby" Vanderquack, and the mother of the iconic triplets and sister of Donald: Della Duck. Upon starting the show, I learned that this was a show whose core theme would be family, and power of it.
From this delightful little duck show, we learn that family is more than blood, and that when family comes together, they can do great things. As a children's show, I think that it is a perfect message to teach, and one worth watching as an adult. I highly recommend it.
As for it's accuracy to the original tv show, that I cannot answer, as I have not watched it yet. But if it is as good as the 2017 reboot, I definitely will watch it!

Can’t believe my love post for Ducktales got 3K notes. Goes to show you how much of a success the pilot is and how much of a success the show will be later on.
But in the heat of the moment, I totally forgot to talk about the nephews. Was too happy to see Donald get on-screen development and Della getting her first animated appearance ever, and they slipped my mind.
HDL were always a combined set meaning they had the same amount of knowledge, the same personality, and same voice actor. They were the cute, mischievous nephews of that hot tempered sailor, and they were rarely more than that. They were identical in all ways.
Ducktales spins it around. They’re still identical, and their personalities are vaguely similar in the way siblings seem to be.However, they’re separate entities and each have their individual personalities.
Dewey is easily distracted but has a thirst for adventure for adventure’s sake. He can also be incredibly insightful from what Episode 2 has shown us. Huey is the Jr. Woodchuck holder, book smart, but has a thirst for adventure for possibly knowledge’s sake. Knowledge is power after all, you know? Louie is in it for the money; the reason why he has dibs for all of Scrooge’s stuff. Scrooge is an old man; like really old.
Louie helping Webby to lie to Mrs. Beakley. It was wrong to lie, but there were good intentions. Donald, up to episode two, was an extremely overprotective parent, and for them to breathe, Louie lied ---- like a lot. I’m betting my bottom dollar on it.
Also, it appears the triplets understand why Donald’s overprotective, but not the exact reason. “She’ll be worried,” yeah, they don’t want to worry their uncle, but they don’t know the exact reason for this. They think he’s a stereotypical overprotective dad, and I’m really curious how their relationships with him will change when information about his and their mother’s past comes to light
Gravity Falls is its own show and story. The same applies to Ducktales, and I appreciate that the triplets genuinely like each other, care for each other, and can bounce of each other be it comedic or serious wise. Alex Hirsch, in an old AMA, said Mabel and Dipper genuinely like each other, and it shows. This is the same for Ducktales; the triplets genuinely like each other (will always love each other, duh, but you don’t always have to like your family).
The first two episodes focused primarily on Dewey, but we have about 21 episodes in total to get through. I’m guessing each of the kids, Webby included, will get their time in the spotlight.

For Louie, losing their uncle's fortune. For Huey, losing his junior woodchuck guide book. For Duey, losing the ability to adventure around the world. For all of them, losing their uncle donald.
Try to guess my character’s fears. They’ll have to answer honestly with yes or no and rate out of 10 how scared of it they are. (Accepting!)
“Mmm, I’m gonna say a solid eight, just because I doubt the will will ever actually be relevant.”
Huey gave a soft whimper at the thought.“Ten!!”
“I’m sorry, did you spell my name with a ‘u’?”
“Answer the question, Dewey.”
“Oh, right! Umm...no more adventuring? I dunno, if that ever happened, things would just go back to the way they used to be with Uncle Donald, which wouldn’t be so bad, just boring. I’m gonna say five.” Dewey gave it some more thought. “Wait, it’s not actually possible to die from boredom, is it?”
“Statistically speaking--”
“On second thought, maybe a six or a seven.”
Of course, their faces fell at the last guess. None of them even wanted to think about it. Uncle Donald was just an ingrained piece of their life that, well, they didn’t even want to try and imagine life without him. Where would they begin? Even if Scrooge was here to take care of them, it wouldn’t be the same. Without even thinking, the three of them let out a unanimous,“Ten.”

When the trailer for the DuckTales 2017 revamp dropped, the fandom rejoiced. Staff member Jordan Calhoun went into fandom induced shock while reviewing the trailer. Me? I was pretty meh. I remember the original DuckTales. It was cool, yet, this wasn’t a reboot I was going to go out of my way to catch. I’ll see it when I see it, right?
Through chance or divine intervention, there happened to be a marathon on when I was visiting my brother over Thanksgiving. As I sat watching the first episode with my nieces and nephew, once it finished, I realized the folly of my ways. I had let the jadedness of tainted nostalgia cloud my judgment. With my optimism restored, I watched another episode. And another.
The food was ready but I said “I’m good. Scrooge McDuck is going through it right now”. I finished the marathon and said, “This is how you revamp. This is how you reboot in order to pay homage. I felt Jordan’s Force spirit next to me saying, “Do you see? DO YOU SEE?” I see! I see!
Some mild spoilers ahead*
The characters of DuckTales have an extended history dating back to the original show as well as the Scrooge McDuck comicbooks. Family plays a crucial role and sets the foundation for the show. Huey (my guy, Danni Pudi), Duey (Ben Schwartz), and Louie (Bobby Moynihan) each have a vastly different and distinct personality that sets them apart from one another this time around. They’re all still adventurous troublemakers at heart.
Donald Duck is their overbearing Uncle having to leave them in the care of his uncle Scrooge McDuck (David Tennant) for a spell. The nephews already know Scrooge was a famous adventurer. Louie hits him with the “You used to be a big deal, what happened to you?” line colder than a Klondike. This awakens Scrooge and gets him back in the game with Launchpad (Beck Bennett) in tow.
Now, I’ve always been a Donald Duck fan. It isn’t until his nephews meet Webby Vanderquack (Kate Micucci) that they realize how big of a deal Donald is. “Donald Duck is one of the most daring adventurers of all time!” Webby is putting respect on the name of Donald Duck as he served in the U.S. Navy and got a legit honorable discharge. This time around there is a lot of animosity between Scrooge and Donald and it’s brilliant.
Donald used to be Scrooge’s sidekick until something happened. We caught a glimpse as Donald berates Scrooge for putting the boys in danger saying, “This is the Spear of Selene all over again!” “I was not responsible for the Spear of Selene!” Scrooge retorts. Later, Dewey catches wind of an old painting. He finds in it a third adventurer with Scrooge and Donald, someone that Dewey (and fans) is shocked to see. His mother, Della Duck.

I would like to add that Webby is so completely breathless by the fact that she has a family. Not that Mrs. Beakley wasn’t.
But she’s never had someone fuss over her like Donald.
And she’s never had to share a room with other people.
She’s never had to tell someone who’s snoring to shut up. Or had someone to punch when they were being so annoying she couldn’t stand it.
She’s never gotten in trouble for punching anyone. So that was new, too.
She’d never had to wake up when someone else is tugging at her arm and two eyes meet hers and Duey is whispering “I had a bad dream”
She’s never had to share her bed. Not even with someone who hogs the covers and drools.
Donald does her laundry with the boys’. She’s always done her own. She’s always done her own everything. But now her clothes just appear, folded and smelling like fresh clothes and powder and sea salt.
Huey is a little runty thing. She sees her first seizure in the boat. And all her medical training left her feeling powerless when she just stood there and stared. She’s woken up first, hearing his pillow fall. She didn’t even shout for help. Her throat stuck. Her throat had never stuck before.
Dewey got Donald. Donald took care of everything.
Later, he’ll rub little circles on her back and tell her that nothing is her fault. She’s a kid. He doesn’t expect her to step in like that.
“But I’m trained-“
“I’m the uncle” Said Donald, pulling her close. “It’s my job to take care of you.” She goes to bed feeling all empty and full at once.
It’s her first medical scare. Her first do-nothing scare.
Apparently that’s what family is like, too. You sort of become powerless. She’s not sure if she likes that part.
But there’s good stuff too. Like how Louie lets her sleep in his bed that night while Donald calls the doctor and helps Huey to his room with a little “You’re sleeping with me tonight, sweetheart.”
“Mmkay Uncle Donald...”
Louie tells her not to worry. She tells him she has to. “I’m the big brother,” he says. “So I’m supposed to worry.”
“You’re the youngest triplet.”
“Not of them, doofus.”
“... oh.” She’d sort of forgotten she was a few months younger. Her stomach flutters. She feels a little closer to whole.
There will be more times. More incidents. Good and bad.
They shout they laugh they cry they yell they tussle they annoy and they hug it out.
She’s never had so many people and so many emotions and so many sad and happy and terrible and wonderful things all at once.
Her grandmother says that that’s family.
Scrooge calls it a nuisance, even past the deceptive spark in his eye.
Webby decides that, whatever it is, she likes it.
She likes her bed and her plate and her spot in the closet.
She likes her sheets. And her place on the couch.
She likes that she’s added to their family wall calanders. She likes that she’s added into everything.
Mrs. Beakley gives Donald all her records. All her insurance cards. Everything. Copied over and organized. She’s seen how he handles his own children and she splits the power over her own.
“In case she needs the hospital. Or anything else. I don’t know-“
“I’ll take care of her.”
Webby will listen in when her grandmother puts aside every bit of pride in her body in order to grit out a feeble “I know.”
Webby is part of the family. She has people she loves. An uncle. Two uncles. Brothers.
She has brothers.
She’ll never say it out loud though. It seems like it might make it all end, if she does.
(The day she does will be a good one, though. And it’ll arrive sooner than she means for it to)
Webby and the Boys
I don’t ship them. I want to make that clear, right now, that I don’t ship Webby with any of the boys.
In fact, if you know anything about me, you’ll know that I do ship her and Gosalyn. Which is the cutest thing ever. Fight me.
But I’m not talking about that, right now.
What I do want to talk about is Webby and the boys.
Webby’s only family is her grandmother. Her entire life has been spent inside a huge house, mostly alone, mostly entertaining herself while Mrs. Beakley attended to the various needs of Scrooge McDuck and his manor. And so she’s incredibly used to being alone. Being alone is what she’s best at.
Which is sad. To say the least.
It won’t be long, then, before the boys start to see that. Before they start to realize that she’s been alone long enough for it to become a habit. A chore. Another fixture of her personality. They’re her friends. And she’s theirs.
Actually… she’s not their friend, is she? They mull over it on their bunk beds one night. Scrooge was being crotchety, so Donald had moved them all out back to the house boat. Had tucked them into their bunk beds (sheets newly washed) after a dinner he’d scrambled together, and they’d been sitting on Dewey’s bed, quietly whispering to one another while Donald snores reached them from his own room, across the little floating pool boat.
“She’s our friend. We should help her.”
“She’s not our friend,” Louie said.
“What’re you talking about?”
Louie pointed towards Dewey. “She’s like you to me.”
“I’m your friend.”
“No. You’re my brother. There’s a difference.”
“So…”
“So, she’s like my brother. Only a girl.”
Huey tilted his head and squinted his eyes and furled his lip. “There’s a word for that, you know.” He pat the bed. “A sister.”
“Sure.” said Louie, scrambling off the bunk towards his own. “Whatever you wanna call it.”
They call it that. But only to themselves. They’re not sure how Webby would react to hearing them claiming her with a title they’d made up. It felt wrong. A little like roping her into something they weren’t sure she’d like. An adventure she hadn’t approved.
But that doesn’t mean they can’t try to tinker. If only a little.
So they talk to their Uncle. Who, for his faults, had always been loving and caring and the best at knowing what to do. And he nods and agrees. They pile into their car and go to the Bed BirdBath and Beyond store a mile away.
Their cupboards are already stocked with plates. Blue ones, red ones, green ones, and white ones. So they pick out some pink ones. And a pink placemat. And a cup.
There’s a spare bed, above Louie (who offers up the space he’d been using to store video games and the occasional candy bar) and find a set of pink sheets and a duvet and hull them into the cart with the rest of the stuff. The toothbrush and the molting comb.
Donald had extra money from his side job being an accidental henchman, so they pay for it all. Plus an extra few video games. A reward, he tells them. For generosity.
Then it’s back into the car, and back to the boat, and back to the room, where they pull sheet corners round mattresses and drop toothbrushes besides the old ones, and stack the plates onto the pile in the kitchen.
When Webby does arrive the next time, for a sleepover that they’d been bothering her about all week, she’ll arrive in a place she recognizes but doesn’t. She’ll arrive home.
Her own bed. Her own cup. Her own space in the closet they’d made room for.
The boys and Donald act like nothing is different. But it is. And it isn’t.
She eats with them at her own seat. She’ll sleep on her own bed. And when they veg out on cereal the next morning, cartoons blaring, she’ll have her own spot on the couch that they’d moved all the comic books away from to make for her.
She integrates, slowly, her life into theirs. Donald makes room in the car. The boys make room in their dresser. Mrs. Beakley sees her half as much, but she’s fine with that. The commutes to school are easier, anyway, when she doesn’t have to search out Scrooge’s hired drivers. When she can just watch her grandchild be corralled into the car by Donald, who makes sure every one of them is buckled, hands out power bars, and fusses the entire way.
Donald drivers her crazy, sometimes, and they tell her off the side that it’s her initiation. When Donald tell her to wear her socks in the house to avoid splinters or glares at her down his beak when she breaks his favorite vase or forces her to wear the horrible life jackets.
“You’re one of his now,” they tell her, and she bites her lip to hide a squeal of delight. “Welcome to the family!”
She becomes one of them.
Webby is so much more than a friend. She’s a sister. They see it. Donald sees it. She… she’ll see it. Eventually.

So like what happened in Moonvision in your Au?
(YOUR AU LITERALLY MAKES ME CRY I LOVE IT)
You are not ready for what is coming....
And me neither...
...
...
...
Scrooge isn't a fighter anymore.
He is tired, hurt, the general Lunaris had all his allies in chains. He can't do anything more to stop the moonvasion. And he doesn't have the strenght to do so.
So, when he see Huey, Louie and Duey captured, he know instantly what he had to do.
The only thing he thought of is to protect his family, his kids. So when he was put between his own death or the killing of his nephews, he don't hesitate a seconde.
He will never hesitate for his boys safety.
~~
Sorry for making you crying but it is my purpose with this AU, so I am not going to stop soon.... 😅😅😘😘

Yeah But imagine Scrooge hurting himself/sacrificing himself for the sake of the kids safety-
Always.
His kids are the only things who matters for him. Even all his money or all his souvenirs doesn't make his heart warm anymore.
Here is some moments when he puts his life in danger for the triplets and Webby :
- The first meeting. When the triplets and Webby went in Scrooge's garage everything was like in Canon. However when Scrooge see what's happening he doesn't hesitate a seconde and jump immediately in front of the sword to protect his nephews. He would have been badly hurt if huey didn't take his hand to leed him in a safe place.
- Scrooge and Webby going to rescue Beakly. When Black Heron is threatening Webby for obtening the formula, Beakly at first refuse to give her what she wants. Scrooge, even tied up, didn't hesitate to jump and punch Black Heron with his head. Scrooge was then in the enemy hands but what was more important was that Webby was free Webby was free. After they all escaped, Scrooge will realise how dangerous his move was and will be overwhelmed with guilt off what could have happened.
- The last crash of the sun chaser. Everything happened has in Canon. Dewey want out of the plane to grab the last piece of paper. Scrooge doesn't hesitate to follow him. Only difference was he was more quick and less careful of his movement and almost fall many times.
- Magica return. Even with Lena, who was not a member of his family, Scrooge didn't hesitate to do a barage with his own body to protect her. He receive some of Magica spell who hurt him more mentally than physically. Almost nobody noticed it and it took him several month to restore almost all his mind.
- The monstrous plant. Like Canon, the family went to the town where everyone was nice. When the plant finally tried to eat them all, Scrooge, dispote his hurting back, tried to fight back for freeing his kids. He was almost eaten first and one of his arm was broken because of a punch of the plant.
- Della coming back. After the return of his long lost niece, Scrooge was a beet lost. He didn't really know if he have the right to be with her or not. But when the golem thing almost crush her and Louie, Scrooge didn't hesitate a seconde. He run has fast has he can to save them, almost getting killed by punching them out of the way of the enormous hand.
- The moonvision. Go check this comic I did before :)
After moon vision, my AU went completely different (or almost) than Canon. Haven't completely figured out what will happened next
