The Apothecary Diaries becoming one of the most popular anime of its season had this hilarious side effect of guys who would not normally watch it picking it up and then leaving reviews like, ‘Wow, a good female anime character!’ (referring to Maomao) And it’s so funny cause like, sir, you have never seen a single (good) shoujo anime in your life and it shows.

So basically what I was saying about wanting to really engage with these people and this place and time, and getting this in return. GOD ALMIGHTY.

No okay, I'm gonna make something out of this.

Roy realizes Hawkeye is right. It's absolutely stupid to be making the very honest desires of his heart to take over command public knowledge. He will never tell her she is once again correct, but he thinks immediately about how to backtrack on this. The walls have ears, so they say. He's tipped his hand too far, and someone can see the cards.

But what if Roy Mustang is a silly, ridiculous man? What if no one could take him seriously, because he's a court jester? So he brings forth this idea that he wants power because he wants the gals to show off them pretty little legs! Mandated miniskirts! This is my climb, my apex of achievement!

Even knowing what he's doing, hawkeye is annoyed by it, but for Roy anytime he gets to lightly irritate Hawkeye for a justified reason he considers it a win.
