Markers

I use Ohuhu, dual-tip, alcohol markers!

This set is pretty big, but they have plenty of smaller sets to try out as well. I really recommend them! I have used copic markers before and a couple other brands, but these are my favorite. And they're more affordable than most of the copic sets I've seen. I recommend the brush and chisel tip sets, but they have fine tip and brush too.

Pens

The pens I use are made by Sakura, mostly their Pigma Microns, but I get a lot of use out of a Pigma Graphic pen that has a bigger tip.

Here's a link to their site's pen category: Pens I Use You can't buy directly from your site, but they have a section where you can see the online stores that sell their products and the retail stores that carry them as well.

I also use the white Gelly Roll pen they make for touching up my drawings. You can put it right on top of already laid down pen ink or marker ink and it'll show as opaque white. Sometimes you have to do a couple passes of it to get it super white, and it works best if the ink you have down already is fully dried. But it is handy. And you can run an alcohol marker over it when it is dry to color it, but that has been hit or miss for me. So I'm figuring that technique out still XD

Paper

The paper I use is just Canson's XL Mixed Media sketchbook right now! I buy various sizes. The one I have now is on the smaller side, but the bigger ones are great too!

The markers definitely bleed through, but they don't destroy this paper. And it's good for pencil if I ever want to use it. I do not use pencil much because of sensory issues, but I like having the option. Just put something between the pages like a piece of card stock or a plastic sheet, and the other page won't get any marker on it.

Digital Art Tablet

The art tablet I use is their Kamvas Pro 13! It's got a screen display and some buttons you can assign keys to. It's on the pricier end of the tablets they sell, but I am getting a ton of use out of it. Bought it a few years ago. And they have plenty of non screen tablets to check out if you wanna try an art tablet. Their tablets still use USB ports to my knowledge, and the screen one I use also need an HDMI port. So keep in mind you might need an adapter with those.

We all know how much I adore my winged liner. I pretty much wear it everyday and it’s always part of any makeup look I do. You can imagine how excited I get every time a new eyeliner is launched! So when I found out Huda Beauty was launching a new liquid liner I knew it had to be tested. Huda previous had a dual ended eyeliner where one side was a crayon / pencil and the opposite was liquid. To be honest I only ever used the liquid and never the pencil.

Looking into her new launch it’s a liquid pen liner without the pencil so I was really excited to see this range because it always bugged me I couldn’t just buy the liquid version on its own. So today we are looking at the Huda Beauty Life Liner Quick ‘N Easy Precision Liquid Liner , £18.00.

The Life Liner is designed to be all day wearing, water & smudge proof and super easy to apply. Unlike other liquid liners this pen has a super thin precise brush that gives you complete control for application. The tip of this liner pen is so thin you can effortlessly draw the wing of your dreams. The liner is a jet black high pigmented colour called very vanta which is the darkest black colour out there. The formula dries down matte which means it's even more long lasting on your eyelids. Using this liner to create both thin and thicker winged liner looks I can honestly say that this liner from the formula down to the design of the pen is one of the easiest formulas I have ever used.

I love how effortless this pen makes drawing a wing to your liner and better yet how quickly it dries down to avoid mess. I'm so glad that Huda decided to release just a liquid liner instead of her duo one because in my opinion the liquid was the best liner she's released. Her formula is flawless and thanks to this pen I have finally been able to do thinner wings for my eye liner which don't overpower the shadow looks I've been creating recently.

So if you're looking for a new liner to try out I would really recommend trying this out. I've been using this for a few weeks now and honestly it has been constant with how good it performs on my eyes and how long lasting the formula is. thats,,, so many fancy pens,,, i have some fine 'marker' things someone got me and for lettering i use either those or occasionally papermate inkjoy pens (but they have to stay and dry for like a day before i can erase the pencil underneath which i hate) and i have some mildliners i also use for school theyre so nice!! occasionally i use these metalic markers from like target or smth i dont even dream of buying tombows or smth (i spend too much at the used bookstore). i do have two pretty nice fountain pens!! theres a medium and a fine but i write t i n y so even the fine is a little too thick at times i mostly use these cat pens my gf gave me a few of theyre like plastic i dont think theyre fancy at all but theyre so fine and smooth to write with?? hhh lovely and theyre nice colors and they have cute little cat faces!! i also have some stadetler (? idk how to spell that) triplus fineliners but theyre kinda dried out and the tips are a bit flattened (and i lost my favorite bright green one a few years ago :( it was the best one) anyway i love pens also and this was not meant to be so long ((ps: i have this like $8 bujo its yellow the brand is like taotree or smth and its so nice i use it for a planner so if youre looking for a cheap one its rly nice to use you can barely see my markers through it)

hhmggm,,,,yeah,,,i,,,have so many pens hhsdkfsdkfdfgdfgn its terrible (i... may or may not have gotten even more today...) but honestly? none of them were super posh or expensive? the tombow dual tips were probably the biggest investment i’ve made (except for like. paper hsdfn) they’re like $30 off the shelf which is yeah a bit pricey but i got mine on black friday sale + w/ another 40% off coupon so they only came to abt $10 i think? michaels/ac moores usually has rlly good sales so i. would recommend taking advantage of them bc honestly they are the best markers i’ve used they are well worth it; the colors are excellent, the brush tips don’t wear out, they are a delight (but yea deffos try and get em while theres a sale goin on or 50% off coupon or smth). also the tombow fudenosuke brush pens are genuinely the best thing i’ve bought they are dirt cheap considering calligraphy pen prices ($5 or so for a set of two hardnesses) and they are. Really good probably some of the best affordable brush pens u can get they somehow manage to be fancy and cool but still inexpensive enough that i can get several sets to lose lol. they make brush lettering SO easy honestly. yeah hsdfsdfgdfgn. the microns,,,,,yeah they are,,,,fancy,,,and,,,terribly expensive,,, i have awful indulgent tastes and i have to have rlly fine tip pens for writing tho and micron makes the only consistently good quality fine tip pens that don’t break and go thick (literally i use an 005 tip hsdfsdfn) that i have found :-/ . also like, they don’t fade when u erase over them which is. a godsend tbh.

“Drawtober (Day 13): Facelift”

Even if your not a listener of 90's alternative rock, this is a striking album cover you'd probably recognize. Would you believe me if I told you I never listened to Alice In Chains until just recently this year? After hearing some of their stuff on Spotify and looking up more of the band's music, I realized its been a while since I've an album recreation. So I figured why not do it on one of their most colorful album covers. This piece was also an excuse to try out these new Ohuhu Dual tip Marker Pens I found for a bargin online. One side has a brush while the other is a fine liner. While they don't always blend easily (these aren't alcohol based like their regular markers), the colors are very bright and stunning! While its not perfect, I love how well this turned out! Since today was my day off, I had way more time than usual to do something more involved! I used my white Posca Pen for the lettering. Had bit of a tiny mess in the top for 'Day 13' but it sorta ended up looking like the font for the band's name on the original cover! Neat! Also, while my personal favorite song "Heaven Beside You" is not on this album, "Man In The Box" is a great track from this one!

I think this spread is very relevant since September is the start of a new school year and a lot of students are starting online classes!

The Pentel Energel is one of the best writing experiences I've ever had with a pen! Its super smooth and nice to write with. I bought a three pack of these at Barn and Nobels, but I don't remeber the cost.

The Frixion pens are a good writing experiance as well. They aren't as smooth, but have a nice feel. The eraser works great and the click is satisfying and I would recomend these for something like notetaking where you might need to erase. I was gifted these, but you can buy them online (http://pilotpen.us/brands/frixion/frixion-ball-clicker/) they are on the expensive end for pens, but its not too rare to find them on sale in store or on Amazon.

I love the metallic sharpies! They don't bleed like normal sharpies and feel good to write with. The writing of the diffrent colours is completely diffrent because the colours have very diffrent formulas. The silver comes out thicker, the green ghosts while the others don't and the bronze smells a little odd. I got these at a local drug store on sale for 4 dollars. The Tul medium is one I found in my house and never remebered buying. It is an adorable pen and writes amazingly and very smoothly. If you know anything about this brand please tell me!

The studio one pens are ones I got from an inking set when I was much younger. I don't know where the rest are, but these are very nice pens that I appreciate.

The bic intensity fineliners were at my local Fred Myers for $6 today and I picked them up. They are wonderful to write with and I would totally picking them up, espically if you find them on sale like I did. They make larger sets and sell smaller colour sets, but this collection was good for me, espically at the price. The red and green seem to have a diffrent formula and are more runny. Brush Pens

I use the crayola Singature brush pens that were fairly recently released. One end is a brush pen and the other is a detail marker. The brush and detail are not the same colour, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. I got the decorative tin box of them. They are normally about $13, but I got them on sale for closer to $8 on Amazon. (And that sale is still going on when I post this!) I do have some issues with them. They write really well out of box, but I have found that my red and black have already started to become less pigmented. I tried storing them brush tip down to see if that would help, but it did not. The labels of the colours on the pen also rub off very easily and to label the colours in my swatches I had to look at the swatches already in my bullet journal. However, if you are not using these constantly and or are a beginner they are really easy to work with and feel good. They ghost on thinner paper, but don't bleed and they didn't ghost on my thicker journal paper. In addition they come in a beautiful range of colours. I use crayola supertips for colouring and fake calligraphy. These are very fun to play with and come in an amazing range of colours. I got lucky and found this 50 pack on sale at Fred Myers for $5. I have heard of these being used for faking calligraphy for a while and I decided to pick them up to try and I've been having a lot of fun with it! I would 100% recomend picking them up if you get the chance. They are afordable even at full price (plus you totally don't need a 50 pack, but this was about the same price as the 20 pack at the store.) I didn't label the colours on the swatches because they aren't labeled on the markers and I had tried to match the colours to the back of the box but that was too hard and I gave up. Crayola Silly Scents

These are very similar to the Crayola Supertips both in shape and formula. However, the cone comes to less of a sharp tip, which makes fake calligraphy slightly harder to do with these. The smells are enjoyable and fairly long lasting on the page. It fades, but it lasts strongly even after it drys and will be there very faintly for even longer. The markers themselves don't lose the smell either. These are really fun for colouring with and even when the scents get mixed together it doesnt get overwhelming or gross, which I find pretty common with most other scented products. I was unable to find the smaller markers on amazon, but Im sure they still exist if you dig slightly harder than me. However I did find the wide ones. These are more expensive than the normal markers, at $7.78, but still adorable. Crayola erasable coloured pencils

As you can tell I really love Crayola and these coloured pencils are no exception. These come out lighter than other coloured pencils, but I kind of like that. The lead is also softer than creates a diffrent writing experiance. They erase about the same as a regular pencil. I admitiedly dont need the erasing aspect of it very often, but its a cool thing to have. I have the 10 count for $4.20, but they have 24 and 50 counts as well. Highlighters

Sharpie

I love these! Both on pen and pencil most colours don't smear as the smear guard label on it promises. The yellow does minorly smear on top of pencil as you can tell though. However it's much better than many other highlighters. These also have these windows so you can actually see what you are highlighting while using it. The window doesn't affect the ink flow through the highlighter and they are very bright and highly pigmented. The tip also allows for both thin underlines and thick underlines. I like it much better than traditional chisel tips. I couldn't find the exact colour selection I got at Wallgreens nor do I remeber what I payed, but this three pack on amazon is $4 (which is a bit expensive, but they are wonderful) (Sharpie Clear View Highlighter Stick, Assorted, 3/Pack (1950748) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019PGLR9M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dDXBDbKVQRF2V)

Frixion erasable highlighters

These are alright. I use them sometimes, but unlike everything else on this page I wouldn't recomend them for most people. They should not be used on top of pencil because erasing off top of pencil is pretty much imposible. Erasing off top of pen is ussually okay and erasing off top of print is fairly good. Oddly enough the yellow also smears while the other colours do not once again. I would only recomend these if you are highlighting on top of text that you own. It leaves small traces even on top of text so I would not recomened it for barrowed items. They are also fairly pricy for highlighters. (At $9.24 for 3, I got them on sale for $5 and I woipd only recomend it if you are able to get them at that price or lower.) Hopefully Poilt will make a better formula and I will be able to change my mind. However, if you just want these for on top of text and the ability to erase highlights is important for you these work well enough and have very nice colours.

Hey y’all

I decided after admiring from afar for quite awhile now that it was time for me to make my own studyblr! I also use a bullet journal so I may eventually make a blog on that as well!

I am currently a junior at the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!). I am a Human Physiology major on the Pre-Med track with a minor in Psychology.

Many people have told me that my handwriting should be a font or that I should have people pay me to write invitations and cards and such for them, so I’d love to share my writing online so see what others think.

Uni-ball Signo UM-151 0.38 Gel Pen - Brown Black

Just like any other Uni-ball Signo gel pen---super smooth and pigmented, but skips occasionally.

Uni-ball Signo UM-151 0.28 Gel Pen - Black

I wasn’t super sure about this pen, (since its tip is so thin I thought it would be scratchy) but when I tried it out in store, I was blown away by how smooth it was! It’s really pigmented too :)

Zebra Sarasa Dry 0.5 Gel Pen - Black

As indicated in the name, this pen drys super fast! It’s supposed to be 0.5, but it writes more like 0.7

This was a present from a friend, and I am so in love with it, that I can’t bear to use it! It’s so cute!!!

mt Masking Tape x Lisa Larson Washi Tape

I saw this pattern for the first time in store, and I totally fell in love with the artwork! It’s so cool that mt has collaborated with artists! This was my first mt masking tape, and I was stunned by both the quality and quantity!

Tombow Dual Brush Pens - 837 & 873

As mentioned on this blog before, I have quite an extensive collection of these. Being the occasionally forgetful being that I am, I accidentally bought the color 837 again!! It’s a very pretty color, but I definitely do not need two of them, so I gave this one to a friend.

Kuretake Fudegokochi - Hard Tip - Black

I meant to buy the soft tip one, so I was a little disappointed (in myself), but overall, this pen is pretty nice! it’s very good for inking drawings, but far from ideal when it comes to calligraphy. Also, it is a little bit too inky/watery for my taste, and tends to feather a bit, even on 80 gsm paper. It takes a while to dry, so beware of that.

Hey guys, life has been kind of messy recently and the main thing that's been keeping me on track is my planner! Here's an updated look at the new spreads I'm using and some of the things I use to make them.

- Notebook is Rhodiarama A6 dotted - I get these from Cult Pens online (and have done for a while) as their UK service is great and I think they're priced fairly (:

- black pen is the Pilot G-tec C4 (0.4 tip) - these are available in a lot of stationery shops near me but if I'm ordering a notebook from Cult Pens I might grab one of those too!

- Tombow Dual Brush Pen colours mentioned are 025, 45§, 761 and 243 (brought gradually from Tindalls, an art shop near me).

- Mildliner colours mentioned are 'dark blue', 'green' (I was gifted these by a friend as part of the blue or 'Cool' pack), 'gold' and 'vermillion' (brought individually from Cult Pens online).

- Washi tape set is the pastel Spectrascope set from Paperchase (brought a couple of years ago, but are back in stock online!)

- The vine/leaves washi tape and green landscape washi tape were brought from the Etsy shop 'Mildredfortea'. The vine/leaves one is by the brand 'Infeel.Me', and the only english writing I could find on the green landscape one says 'Sensory design'? The autumn leaves tape was brought from elsewhere but is also the brand 'Infeel.Me' (:

Etsy shops seem to be a good place to get washi tape for me, and I look for UK based stores so I don't have to worry about long delivery times or international postage costs.
