Going on patrol was always painful, not because of the hours spent on horseback (which didn't help anyway, as it was necessary to maintain a rigid and constant position for a long time), but because of the work Merlin had to do afterwards, while the knights rested.

One day I will write this without being surprised that yet another month has flown by, but it ain't this one...

April was a wee bit slower in terms of fills, but that's okay! We still got 40 beautiful works to peruse from 13 marvellous creators. Of those, the vast majority (38) were fics, and the remaining two were art (though, I have to say, it still feels not-quite-right applying that word to something I've drawn).

In terms of ships, well, once you get past the 14 gen works it seems to be (almost) all about Merlin this time - of the 36 fills where people chose to give us information, 17 were Merlin/Arthur, two were Merlin/Knights, and Lancelot and Gwaine both got a single fill where they had Merlin to themselves! In fact, the only non-Merlin ship this month was a single Arthur/Mithian fic, made even more wonderful by its uniqueness!

Although he's still unsure of what to think about Inigo in regards to his sister but, Marc is nice enough to at least leave a gift on a stool within Inigo's tent. A small burlap satchel protected a wooden figurine. It wasn't the finest work, but Marc had attempted to carve out a dancer.

he isn’t expecting to return to his tent to find a burlap satchel waiting for him, but his curiosity is enough for inigo to pick it up. it’s a little disappointing to find no name attached, not even a note for him to credit the sender, but he opens it regardless to reveal the wooden figurine.  ❛  my, my… i wonder who sent this ?  ❜  he admires it in the palm of his hand for a while, unable to help his smile. it’s not the best piece, but the care and effort is certainly there, and it shows.
