She might play her playlist of relaxing piano music to help you fall asleep!

It'll be really hard for her not to call everything she does for you a pain. She genuinely csres about you and she's glad she can help you, but it's just a habit she has.

She genuinely won't know what to do with your silly, delirious ramblings. She'd just be kind of dumbfounded, wondering how you could get any more stupid. But, like, in an affectionate way!

ok so first things first here is the answer before i start rambling on about literally nothing at all-> orphan

coming up with her backstory/parents (and honestly all of season 50s backstories to an extent) was really fun actually bc it all had to be put into the context of it being the FIFTIETH season of danganronpa!! which means season 53/drv3 was used as a reference point since thats the closest season to them lol. drv3 has a lot of very wild and dramatic backstories in comparison to the first two games, and i always liked to imagine that was because this show had been running on for so fucking long that they have seriously saturated these characters in an attempt to make them unique and original ghdfkg. like. boy who grew up with wolves. kid whose family got murdered by the mafia over a tennis match. teen vigilante raised in a temple. maki harukawa

so as well as giving naomi a rather dramatic backstory i ALSO wanted to try to weave a few plot points we see in drv3, because i imagine there are a lot of running storylines that continue on with each season and frequently appears in different characters!! which is WHY the "holy salvation society" that maki talks about is a huge part of naomis background as well. in this au ive got theres somebody from season 51 and another person from 52 that is ALSO related to that society in a way, maki is the fourth (and the first assassin). the little flower pin on maki's outfit is actually the tattoo that naomi has on her wrist fun facttt :)

ALL OF THIS BULLSHIT to say naomi was abandoned her parents WAYYY early on which is why she ended up where she did ghfdkjsg. she had/has zero intention of meeting them again and they've never attempted contact so she ASSUMES they dont really wanna keep contact either. and whether or not they actually WERE trying to get to her and got prevented because of where she was relocated to, naomi left that place long before she could ever figure out lmfao, and it was both very difficult/not a priority for her to find them again

she never had a relationship with them and wasn't allowed to really mourn that all that much, so it isn't a subject she dwells on for that long. if anything she resents them for leaving her in a "if you hadnt done that i would have been an entirely different person" kind of way, and also in a "why did you have to pass down The Illnesses to me (if you even had them idk)" way, but other than that she's pretty indifferent !! theyre just two faceless people to her

So. A couple of things. Nothing insane just, been thinking. And feeling kind of down, about a loss of a fixation, loss of interest, ectect.

I saw a meta analysis of Kokichi posted on my dash, and I read it... and felt nothing. I agreed with some points, disagreed with others, but I didn't feel anything regarding the character or DRv3 as a whole. Not about Kokichi, not about anything. I've just, fully lost interest.

I never even finished playing DRS. I just, lost complete interest in it. I don't even really have any desire to replay V3 to "reignite the spark' so to speak. I just feel kind of... indifferent.

And sometimes, I wonder how long I've truly felt this way. How long I was lying to myself in suggesting I was interested still, or something akin to that.

And it's really sad, to feel nothing over something that used to bring you such comfort or joy. To feel nothing over a game I made some incredible friends with. Like Even for Undertale and NiGHTS I still have mild interest in these games. I could easily pick up Undertale and replay it if I wanted to. Same for NiGHTS.

But for V3... I don't know. I have the physical ability to, but I just don't want to. As if something about it feels just... plain exhausting about it. Like I got burnt out or burned by it and I'm not even sure by what or how. It wasn't working on fanfics or fanart, because the character I made in Kokichi is still a character I feel attached to and love dearly. I'm probably going to draw him up a design at some point, even. My specific interpretation of Kokichi isn't going away, just, evolving into something new.

So, is it just a burnout from how long I was hyperfocused on the game? The huge amount of meta Analysis I did that made me watch the game over and over again? Nothing outrageous that I can remember like, happened to me specifically that burned me, yet I still feel like I was burned. I really can't tell you why.

Still, it's sad to see a hyperfixation go, regardless of the reason. Especially one that lasted for so much longer than most others. It's kind of a scary thing to admit to as well--that I've just, moved on to something new.

And that's kind of life for you, isn't it? Life moves on. New things fade in as old ones fade out.

Maybe one day I'll come back to DRv3 with less of a tired mind, but maybe not. Maybe this is how I always feel about moving on from a past fixation/when I'm in denial about it.

I guess the saddest part is that it leaves a hole in my chest too. It's not like I want this. I want to be interested! I want to find that spark that made me love the series! But it just feels... gone.

Idk. I just feel pretty sad overall tonight so I'm probably over thinking things.

But I'm still sad, never the less. Like watching your friend walk on a train, knowing that it's the last time you'll see them. It feels like parting ways.

He tends to think more and speak less, so usually you get only half of what he actually wants to say.

He's very flustered the entire time though, so it's not like you can't tell your words have an effect on him.

Rantaro Amami

He is rather cool with your flirting, but he never knows how to respond to it.

He likes you, but he doesn't think if he wants to be with you considering how often he travels.

☆ However, the nicer side of that is that it means he has an excuse to hang around you all the time (which also means, thankfully, that he won't be the first to die). He's really too sweet for you to mind, and in the midst of something as serious as a killing game, it's really a boon to have someone tall and strong with a good head on his shoulders around you. Especially when he doesn't let anyone push you around--in fact, that's one of the few times he actually gets serious, when he tells whoever is bothering you to knock it off, now. ☆ It's almost impossible to miss the fact that he likes you after all that, though. His attempts to hide his feelings for you are the weakest part about him, to the point that when you eventually confront him about it he can't do anything but offer an "I'm sorry, sweetheart." with a sheepish smile on his lips and a hand on the back of his neck. It's a little embarrassing for him to have been found out so easily, but hey, you were gonna find out sooner or later. He can't really help the way that he looks at you, or how his eyes always seem to fall to your lips whenever you laugh or smile, a fantasy of kissing you tucked away in the back of his mind.

☆ But if you give in or you're sincerely smitten with him, then he'll be working even harder to hide his obsessive tendencies from you. Once you're a couple and you're much closer than before, it's a lot harder to hide the fact that most of his thoughts revolve around you, with quite a few of them venturing into those dark, wicked places that he swears he can never give in to. If he could have it his way, he would keep you isolated from everyone so nobody will get their filthy hands on you, and so he'll never, ever lose you. Rantaro makes his affection obvious and he's not opposed to PDA, but he'll respect your wishes if it makes you uncomfortable and keep it light, like holding you by the waist or just holding your hand. But he's around all the time even if you don't notice him, because no way in hell is he leaving you alone while there's a killing game in effect--that would just be stupid arrogance on his part to think you won't be a target, and to the contrary to how he acts, he's suspicious of everybody. No matter how small, weak, friendly, or moralistic, he knows damn well that anybody could become a killer with the right motivation.

☆ He is insistent on making sure you two are the last ones alive. He won't let you die. He can't. He's gone through this whole thing once so he has to convince himself that he can do it again, because if he can't assure himself then how can he reassure you that everything's gonna turn out okay? But he can't go to the extent of killing anyone either, because if he fails then he dies and leaves you all alone, and if he succeeds, you'll die and he'll be forced to go on without you.

☆‼️ And if you do die, ultimately, he'll feel that it's all his fault. If it was purely by accident with nobody as the perpetrator, then he'll kill himself. But if somebody had the audacity to murder you, then he's dragging everyone down with him. Fuck all of them, none of them helped to protect you and one of them is your killer, and if any one of them thinks they're getting away with it they're wrong, dead fucking wrong! The most likely outcome is that he'll track down your killer before the trial even happens and tear them limb from limb, making it as slow and agonizing as possible, because even the idea that they've touched you is enough to send him into a frenzy. And when the trial does come around, he'll fuck around with the evidence and confuse everyone as much as he can, because if you're not alive anymore, then why the hell should they be? Plus, if he fails (which he probably will) and gets convicted, then he'll just be glad he can see you again in the afterlife. That's the only thought in his mind as he's sent into his execution.

♡🔒 The best thing you can do for yourself, if you're shy about intimacy and sex, is to never tell Rantaro you're a virgin. He's definitely not a pushy guy, but he can and will manipulate you into giving it up to him if you open the door of opportunity. He'll use sex as a way of claiming ownership over you--naturally, you're going to be closer to the person you gave your virginity to (at least in his mind), and thus it means he thinks he knows you better than anybody else in the school. Until he comes running out of that dilapidated building, like you know he will. Like he'd promised in that hangar. Why else would you have let him go through with that ridiculous plan?

"You're not... actually planning to die, right?" you asked, knees tucked to your chest. You stare at the hydraulic press, that ugly, bleak hulk of metal. It stares dully back at you, silent as a tomb.

"Who, me?" Kokichi cackled, springing to his feet and stretching. His back was to you; you disliked that you couldn't see into his eyes, even if only for a second. "As if. I've still gotta end this dumbass killing game, right? Can't do that if I'm dead!"

"Kokichi," you said quietly. "Truth or lies?"

He stilled. For a horrible moment, your stomach sank. And then he turned to you, casting a blithe smile over his shoulder. "Truth! And that's not a lie. I've never not told the truth to you, right?"

Tears roll absently down your face as you scan the horizon desperately. The Ultimate Academy lies before you in ruins, chunks of stone and pipes spilling water and crushed glass. But nothing breathes. Nothing moves. Nothing comes running to you, no broad grin, no small pale hand in yours.

There is only you, and your fellow survivors, and that awful inevitable truth growing bigger with every passing second.

"Y/n..." Shuichi says softly. "We have to leave. Please."

"I can't - leave him," you say, your voice stilted with the effort not to cry. "I promised - I'd wait - he said—"

"I know," Shuichi whispers, and there are tears glimmering in his eyes, too. Does he weep for Kokichi? Not likely - his sadness is for you, you think. It's empathy, for the partner you have lost. But you can't bring yourself to think that, because if Shuichi is grieving on your behalf that means that you should be grieving, too, and that means that Kokichi is gone.

He can't be. But he isn't here.

Your knees give out; you sprawl onto the broken asphalt, burying your head into his scarf to hide your tears as you sob. There is a rush of movement, and you are somewhat distantly aware of Maki's hand upon your shoulder, shaking for the lover she has lost, and Shuichi's arms around your middle, trembling with the strength of holding on, and Himiko's sniffling in your ear as she weeps for her dead friends.

Their touch is comforting, but it is not the one you seek, the one you need. That one died - and no matter how many lies he had spun you in that hangar, it wasn't coming back.

like. sooooo many of them lol. can i say the entire cast of v3? because honest to god that's my answer -- even my faves in v3 leave Something to be desired

beyond that, i actually think that thh and gbd do a really good job of stretching characters to their maximum narrative utility before killing them off, and i do feel like in both games the most narratively flexible ones are the ones who live. i think if i had to say anyone from those games it'd probably be leon or sayaka just because the way the free time events work in trigger happy havoc work mean they get like three events and then they die and you never get to know more lmfaoo (but even then i still don't think their characters are Lacking in the way that the v3 cast is for me. sorry for being a v3 hater lol)

komaeda's, obviously LMFAO. god every time i replay sdr2 chapter 5 im struck by it all over again. like they literally had to guess!! even with nanami revealing herself! even then! they still had to be like well. hope his luck actually worked out! king popped off and the entire trial is SO good for advancing the plot and tying off hinata's dynamics with BOTH komaeda and nanami! the moment of sickening clarity when hinata realizes that he DOES understand how komaeda's brain works, and knows what his intentions really were? nanami and hinata's final goodbye? uuuugh sdr2 chapter 5 i love youuuuu.

*pushes two million unfinished drafts of Togami Headcanons to the side* i am going to talk about komaru. i think she's a butch lesbian and every time she's depicted as feminine in fanart my soul dies a little even though butch komaru exists solely in my head. i also think she's really sporty, but i've talked about that elsewhere hehe.

ok i'll talk about togami a little bit. it's 100% projection but i think he's agender. not in a way where he like. actively thinks about it -- even at Full Self-Actualization i'm not sure if i ever see him actually realizing it and actively thinking about himself in that way -- but i just dont think he as any particular connection to being a *man* outside of how it plays into his attraction to other men/his family's expectations of producing heirs. like he just kind of is how he is and doesn't feel compelled to make any particular effort to present as masculine. i could make a joke here about his gender just being Togami, but genuinely i do think that rings true. he's not a boy or a girl but a secret third thing (byakuya togami™️) does this make sense. like. to anyone (<- projecting and insane) whatever. i think he would look nice in a floor length skirt.

mmm. hard to say, honestly? it's been so many years since i formed first impressions of the thh and gbd casts that i kind of dont even remember what i first thought of them? i have a lot of v3 characters who i thought i would like and wound up feeling kind of ehh about, but that's not the question lol

i think, Big Terrible Writing Choice aside, i was really surprised by how much i wound up actually *liking* korekiyo? like okay OBVIOUSLY they took his character in a terrible direction but before that when he's just like, a weird little freak? that ruled lol

in terms of characters that i've had full turnarounds in opinion over the course of 2012-2022? i remember not particularly liking/caring about kirigiri, sayaka, fukawa, souda, or gundam when i first read the playthroughs of their games, and now they're some of my favorites hehe. but that's less about me going *into* the games thinking i wouldnt like them -- because in both cases i went in completely blind -- and more about them growing on me like a fungus over successive playthroughs lol

56. Best free time events?

ok. take this with a grain of salt because i'm stalled out in my sdr2 replay rn so i haven't redone the free time events for that game in awhile/haven't done any v3 ftes besides maki's and ouma's because im a hater.

i think kirigiri has really good fte's. i love that she gets a little sillay in them and how subtle her progression from "why are you talking to me" to "i care deeply about you" is. i also really appreciate how the game cutting her off as an option for free time at certain points serves to make that progression feel really natural with the game's actual plot. love you miss kirigiri.

mondo's are really great as well, he's such a fun guy to interact with and him talking about wanting to be a carpenter and loving his stupid tiny dog and being too nervous to ask girls out all add such levity to his character and make it SO sad when he dies. like damn that biker gang leader trapped in a murder game really is just like. some guy in high school :-( i also loved that they brought him wanting to be a carpenter back in dr:s! made my heart soar uuuuugh i love you mondo, sorry i never ever talk about you

i also agree with @ovidiomedes about thh's c3 kind of dragging. it's one of my favorite trials, but the actual chapter is. really slow lol. i think part of that is due to the anticipation of chapters 4-6 which are some of my all time favorites across all three games, but i think it has larger narrative problems that contribute to that dragging feeling ://

- anything by Verl on Ao3, they write a lot of cool Kiibo stuff. My fave postgame one is Texting Traumas though, about the text thread between Kiibo and Kokichi postgame :D Complete with 4 chapters

- what happens in fiction doesn't stay in fiction by You (Rietto) on Ao3 is a kokichi-centric postgame au! Mainly hospital recovery and fighting off Danganronpa (I think, I haven't read it in a while lol), also I think its abandoned with 13 chapters

- 13 Students Remain by whattheskyknows on Ao3 is a really good Time loop AU where the only way to leave the game is to survive and OH BOY its so good, and I'm very excited to see where it goes (it has pretty regular updates, too!)

- Everyone's Killing Reality by khattikeri on Ao3 is again an ingame fic, but its complete with 53 chapters and the explanations and backstory is so intriguing!!! I love how they handle Tsumugi's character (and everyone else's, really) and the way the characters fit into the danganronpa world is really cool

- All My Secrets by Fastern on Ao3 takes place in an AU where the cast of V3 exist in the tragedy, kokichi centric but really cool backstories and roles for everyone else (including the sdr2/dr1 cast!) It is long, but incomplete with 16 chapters and I'm not sure if it will update again :,)

- or did it eat the little girl? by weewooweewoo (WaitWhatDoIPutHere) on Ao3, as well as its post-game sequel, lets go out with a bang! - its a tenko centric fic, where she survives Korekiyo due to outside interference and GOSH ITS SO GOOD, it is complete, and I love it dearly: the outside world is more along the lines of everything-was-fake but its one of the few fics I feel has really done that justice! I love the tenko and himiko characterization, as well as most everyone else, and it really shaped my love and appreciation for those characters tbh, giving them realistic and amazing character arcs :D

- it's alright, it's okay by EmbraceTheEccentric is a complete post drv3 au where they live on jabberwocky island and recover together :,) thats it its just very hurt comfort and good

- It's Not Over. We're Not Done. By katavicbun on Ao3 is a sdr2 centric fic, postgame. But it DOES have one of the best inclusions of the v3 class I've ever read, and the way they work into the story is so so good. 10/10, complete, one of my all time faves

- Ordinary Days by gonta, and starrynova is a really really interesting premise of the (spoilers) drv3 class being in the reserve course!!! so so good, but ends on a probably never continued cliffhanger. I've reread it at least nine times though, the way they wrote the class dynamics and place in the world is so good :D

- eighteen hundred and ninety six pieces of glass by wrenkos on Ao3 is a complete drv2-tsumugi au character study!! Its one of my fave tsumugi fics, and the writing is very good :D

- be the thing that buries me by Mistress East is one of my all time faves- its in game, a virtual reality au. The motive is hanahaki disease, and its kokichi/shuichi, although my favorite part really is the Maki and Kokichi interactions :,)

I have more, but im tired and I feel these are the ones most fitting the game simulation/ postgame v3 fics that I feel are less popular, or that I just really like a lot haha :D I hope one of these fits what you're looking for :D

It relieves so much stress for him, and he’s a pretty stressed out guy

Though don’t expect to sleep if it’s not bedtime, he can talk for hours

Though, he would love to have your head on his chest as well while he rubs your back

Even if you fall asleep on him, he wouldn’t even notice and continue talking

But when he does, he makes sure you’re extra comfortable as he presses a kiss to your forehead

Maki Harukawa

Almost never cuddles you, but will when you ask

She prefers to be the big spoon, or having you in her arms, but won’t object if you want to hold her

Kind of stiff and awkward, not really knowing where to put her hands

The more time that goes on, she relaxes a bit more, even starting to get a bit sleepy

She doesn’t have a favourite position, as she’s neutral for all of them

But spooning does get her fairly sleepy and snuggly

Little shit can never sit still enough to actually cuddle

He’s always on the move, so you’d either have to wait until its bedtime, or catch him

Once you do, he’s very squirmy and he loves to nuzzle into your chest

He hates to admit it, but he loves being the little spoon. He feels so small and protected and he adores it

If you have boobs, beware, he’ll be nuzzling them the entire time

But if not, he’ll still be nuzzling them, but not suffocating as much

Very snuggly! Though its hard to get her away from her worship to cuddle

But once she’s in bed with you, her face will be snuggled into your chest with her arms around your waist

She gets pretty calm and cuddling allows her to empty her head

Sometimes she’ll even meditate while snuggling, which she’s pretty good at

Not very comfortable, but he tries!

The best would probably be cuddling on the couch with his head in your lap

I love the ending of the main series because imo it's the perfect combination of bitter and sweet for me. And it also kinda open ended to leave some questions and allow a jumping off point for the story, while feeling like I'd doesn't leave too many losse ends

i agree that it was a really good mix! sorry for relatign this back to drv3 again, i have insane brainrot rn, but it achieved this good balance that v3's ending wasnt able to where there's like. a massive amount of loss but madoka's hope and compassion still lives on nonetheless in her capacity to care for other people. it does a really good job of building up hope for the future while not feeling too much like a cop out

in every interation madoka did everything she could to help the other girls and in splitting her consciousness across the timelines she finally gets what she always wanted, a happy ending for everyone. she's just never going to achieve the same thing for herself. or maybe she will idk i havent watched the movie yet lmao. the ending was always going to be dependent on madoka's wish and i love htat in the end she was able to understand how much homura loved her and how much she'd sacrificed for her

as for hte mami thing i love that they showed a timeline where they all realized the origin of witches and someone just broke. bc it's an entirely understandable reaction that's made all the more tragic by the fact that mami was supposed to be their mentor. madoka having to kill her in that timeline was so sad too
