Okok so I might be over speculating things but someone has to agree with me on this right?? And of course if this is the implication then call me TF OUT because media literacy is truly dead if I missed this.

If you've been following my page for a minute I assume you can remember the ADHD Kokichi headcanon post that I made last year (if not go check it out here 🙏) but REGARDLESS I have something new to add onto that. I wish I could do a video rant to something about this because I'm livid I didn't notice it before. But I believe that Kokichi's absolute worst fear is being boring.

Now hear me out for this. Of course, referencing my ADHD Kokichi hc, we all have a deficit of dopamine which is why it makes it hard to focus on things we find boring. I can BET YOU ALL that most people you approach that have ADHD can agree that they'd rather keel over than be bored (because me too), and the same applies to Kokichi. The reason why he bothers people is because he's bored, and that's frankly one of the worst feelings in the world for him. But if we reference basically all his interactions with the rest of the DRV3 cast, they can all be tied back to, in one way or another, with the fear of being boring. BECAUSE QUITE LITERALLY, ONE OF HIS LAST LINES OF THE GAME WAS "at least... I wasn't boring, right?"

Now why would he say that? If he was really that flamboyant for the sake of saving his classmates, and went out with a big final show, why would he say this in his very last moments when he was most vulnerable? In fact, aside from the fact that he bothers or annoys people for the sake of a dopamine chase, why does he bother to put on such a show? Because all of it is compulsive. His lying, his crocodile tears, his entire personality is literally compulsion in every sense of the word because he cannot stand the thought of being forgotten. Of being someone boring, who isn't worth remembering. In fact, I could even go as far as to say the reason why he crafted his plan like he did was BECAUSE he wanted to make a lasting impression so big that literally no one could forget him. Because he didn't have to go through making that huge of a show at the end when he was claiming to be the mastermind, which eventually led to his death. He could have absolutely kept quiet about his intentions until the very last second because he always intended to die. He was smart enough to have done it that way. So why big and boisterous?

"Well he was trying to draw attention to himself" you might say. EXACTLY. That was always in his benefit. He was smart enough to have revealed Tsumugi as the mastermind without all of the extra everything. It was his plan. His idea. His influence on Gonta, which ended up in both Miu and Gonta's deaths. His dying by his own terms. His effect that it had on the remaining cast. Even if his plan had to speed up in the end, he made an impression on everyone. Which was his compulsion all along.

I could literally go on and on about the implications of his actions throughout the entire game, but in the end I'll limit it to this. Please interact! Repost with your own ideas, comment, anything! I'd love to see what you all have to say about this idea.

Kokichi being the overprotective one is amusing to me

there's just something about Kokichi caring deeply for the people he loves in a way that most don't expect that's really alluring to me. he developed this behavior thanks to DICE (and little sister, if you enjoy my hcs), and it ended up extending to Shuichi.

when he fell in love with him, Kokichi often found himself having to hold himself back from openly fretting over Shuichi more often than he'd really like. he'd hear he's in a bad mood and have the impulse to try and cheer him up, hear he didn't get any sleep and have to hold himself back from berating him about it.

when they got together people thought Shuichi would be the one fretting over Kokichi, what with his antics, but as it turns out he just got use to Kokichi's shit and can tell when it is and isn't dangerous, but Kokichi??? he's scolding Shuichi for not taking care of himself in the ways that actually matter.

"yeah yeah who cares about if Shuichi's hair looks nice, nuts to that presentable shit his mom drilled into him, did Shuichi eat breakfast? yes or no."

A/N: Ahhhhh I love this man!!! 😖 I've been in a little rut for motivation lately ( mostly for Genshin ) so I've been scared to start on request out of fear of getting stuck and never finishing them.. I'm also not good with such broad topics as relationship headcanons so I'm sorry if this isn't satisfactory.. At least I tried, right? 😅

↪ When it comes to Kokichi and the topic of love, he sticks out his tongue and blows raspberries like a little kid because...ewwwww! Love is yucky and gross and full of cooties!

↪ That said, if you actually manage to catch the eyes and heart of this childish liar, you must really be special!

↪ When Kokichi likes someone, it's like being held at gunpoint by a maniac who's gun is made out of cotton candy; harmless, but overwhelming and annoying.

↪ Contrary to popular belief, Kokichi does have a heart. He cares about his friends deeply, and although he doesn't show it, will do the craziest things for them, even if it ends with them despising him for doing so.

↪ That said, I don't imagine him with some mysterious, colder person. I also don't see him with someone who he'd view as a threat to his friends like Maki or someone as cutthroat and self-centered as Byakuya. I imagine him falling for someone more empathetic. Someone who's known him for some time. Who's maybe a bit shy or pours their heart out over the littlest things. Or, maybe someone who's simply kind and honest. Someone predictable, but down-to-earth and friendly, but I digress.

↪ Even with his crush, I don't see him pursuing it whether he was apart of the killing game or not. It's mostly because he fears it as it's a rather foreign topic that requires openness and honesty; two things he isn't comfortable giving to someone—even a close friend.

↪ That doesn't stop his body from reacting the way it does towards you, however! He can't help but yearn for attention at times no matter how much he fights, so I definitely see him in your face and never leaving you be sometimes.

↪ The way he treats you would be as different as two salt grains, but at the same time, as contrasting as his black and white scarf. He'll tease you as he does everyone else, he'll pick on you like he does with the others as well, and he's not above doing things that you may find cruel, but the level at which he takes it would be noticeably ( or possibly unnoticeably ) different from what it is with the others. Not so low that it's obvious and he looks like some simp who can't so much as tell you that you have lettuce in your teeth out of fear that it'll hurt your feelings, but it will never be as high as how he acts towards Maki or Kaito. Well, not unless you like to be talked to like that.

↪ That moves us to my second thing I see him doing which is indulge you. Similar to Miu, who gets off on degradation, he doesn't care for what gets you going really and he doesn't mind doing whatever if it makes you feel good. You like to be praised over the simplest things? He doesn't mind throwing out a cheesy comment randomly to fluster you and then immediately change the topic. You, for some reason, like it when he's a little mean? When he immediately claps back at something you say? He can do that. Anytime. Anywhere. And he will and then quickly follow up with his usual antics as if it never happened.

↪ But I'm getting ahead of myself. Realistically, I don't see him dating someone, but if he does then they'd have to be really, really special to him. Like someone special enough that his love for them outweighs his anxieties and fears of the worst happening. Someone who he's known for so long that his trust issues won't get the better of him when imagining a relationship with them.

↪ A relationship with him, though, wouldn't be as different as a friendship with him which isn't the best in some ways. He's still a teasing little shit who lies about even the littlest things and is constantly flipping between extreme emotions and downplaying them so significantly that you can't take them seriously.

↪ Don't expect to have any kind of heart to heart with this man. You could pour your heart out to him, tell him some deep ( and possibly dark ) secret about yourself or tell him about a thought or insecurity or incident about yourself that you haven't told even your most trusted companion and he will absolutely not return the favor. He's too used to keeping everything bottled up inside and hiding behind this facade of lies and trickery that showing even a little of his true colors makes him very uncomfortable.

↪ He isn't exactly affectionate. Kisses, hugs, holding hands.. Stuff like that usually only occurs when he's teasing you or trying to get a rise out of you. It's never a genuine action that'll stems from his desires and he'll make sure it never does.

↪ You can never tell what's going through his head even in his most 'vulnerable' moments—if you can even call them that. He's always changing, always saying the most absurd things, always saying the opposite of what he's thinking to ensure that you're thrown completely off his trail and can never read him. To put it simply, he's constantly putting iron barricades between you two.

↪ He can come off as heartless or emotionally tone deaf at times because of this. You could come crying to him or express a deep insecurity of his and it'd seem as though he's not taking you seriously or has completely brushed off your problems which can be seriously depressing and disheartening.

↪ That leads us to arguments, which always feels as if you're screaming at a clown. Kokichi is not one to let his true emotions get the better of him so 99% of your arguments will leave you even more frustrated and upset as when whatever made you argue first surface because it seems like everything you say is being taken as some joke or comedy act.

↪ What a relationship with him needs is time. A lot of it. Kokichi has grown up in an environment that has turned him into someone who physically can't let down his walls, who assumes the worst will happen to him or the people he cares about if he gets too close with someone he can't read like a book at all times ( and even people he can read like that ), someone who can be fighting an unimaginably tough battle—one so intense that it could drive anyone insane—and you'd never be able to tell due to how good he hides it. Time can chip away at all of that, albeit very slowly.

↪ With the right amount of patience, with the right amount of time and the right amount of energy and persistence from his partner, they'll make headway with him eventually. When they do, the change it'll cause will be as big as a baby ant, but it'll be a change nonetheless.

↪ He'll start mixing the tiniest, most insignificant levels of truths into his lies and his partner will have to accept that and let him know that, "Hey! I see that you're trying as hard as you can and I'll wait as long as needed for you to go further!"

↪ Don't try and force progress because it'll leave you being farther away from your goal. When he walks, you walk. When he tethers between taking that next step, you stay put until he decides what he'll do. If he goes backwards, you take a step back as well. That's the only way you're getting anywhere with him.

↪ And with all that effort, you'll get somewhere..eventually. ..Hopefully. I don't really know. When it comes to Kokichi, he could make you believe and feel as though you've made unimaginable progress only to do something completely left field that'll force the enormous gap between you two to become apparent.

↪ Basically what I'm saying is that he's more fragile than you'd imagine so be gentle with him! ..But don't let him catch onto it or else he'll panic and push you away out of fear of breaking what's already cracking apart. You need to be to tend to the glass that is his mind and body, caress it like you would a nasty bruise and don't ever put pressure on it, otherwise he'll shatter and you'll never be able to put him back together again ( nor will he let you try ).

kokichi would either like completely self isolate and just talk to no one or he would keep up with his act and still piss the hell out of everyone…

if he self isolated i think he would only talk to saihara and on his terms and saihara would be okay with that and just be happy he’s even talking to him

if he kept up his act i think he would eventually crash out one time when they are hanging out and be like🖕 and just never come back

Actually you know what, what if the concussion incident with Ouma WAS Munchausen? What then? What if he deliberately stepped on that floorboard and beaned himself in the head on purpose? What if he DID exaggerate the severity on purpose by flopping on the floor to scare Saihara?

He's been brushed off at best and accused of maliciousness at worst the whole ass time he's been there. I'd want an excuse for someone to give a shit about my wellbeing, too!

And then they didn't even give a shit! Harukawa and Saihara were just like yeah okay that's weird anyway- and then he STUMBLES OFF and they do NOTHING! Didn't ask if he was okay or SHIT!

Even if it was Munchausen and it was a lie and he was exaggerating how bad it was can you imagine how fucked that is? He rounds the corner and slips into the bathroom to clean himself up and go back to acting like nothing happened, and he has to suffer the humiliation of casually sweeping it under the rug when it comes up during the trial because NO ONE GAVE A SHIT THAT HE WAS BLEEDING FROM THE FACE. They only care about the evidence part!

"Oh, Kokichi can tell you about the floorboards in the other room!"

And he has to awkwardly admit that he stepped through it and got beaned in the head, but just doesn't mention the part about collapsing in the hall because why the fuck would he? Saihara and Harukawa didn't give a shit when they found him, why would anyone give a shit if he mentioned it now? They didn't even give a shit about the fact he got hit in the head at all!

Can you imagine how much that must've sucked ass if it was driven by Munchausen? You're so alone, so desperate for someone to actually care about you that you deliberately bean yourself in the head and risk giving yourself a severe concussion in a KILLING GAME just so someone will express even the tiniest hint of concern, and then they just straight up DON'T.

I'm gonna be honest, i haven't touched danganronpa in awhile, but something i am for sure is true, is that he's a sadistic little fucker.

(All 3 descriptors being the truth)

Due to his sadistic personality, you talked to him about safe words, and set one up. Contrary to popular belief (if there's any), he actually listens to and memorizes these talks to a fault.

Even if he teases you relentlessly to the point you might cry, makes fun of you while you're struggling to do something, embarrass you infront of people, he does care about you. A lot.

Because let's be real, he is NOT that lovey dovey of a person, especially in public. He's still cruel and a liar, no matter how we look at him.

And you dating him is like a 'go ahead' for him to use you to his entertainment. To the point your friends comment about how your relationship with him seems toxic to them. But he is kinda nice. However you define the word 'nice', that is.

But aside all of that, let's get back on track. Going along the toxic gossip train, he's really into teasing, and pushing you to your limits.

(^) Meaning that he has a thing for places where you two could easily get caught at. Public bathrooms, when everyone is out of class, etc.

Even if you're loud or not, it really depends on his mood if he wants to make sure everyone hears what you're doing and who's doing it to you, or if he forces you to stay quiet, just to watch you struggle because of him.

(^) Watching you struggle fuels his sadism, so he practically watches you with eagle eyes if you catches the slightest hint of you struggling because of something he's doing, or he's ultimately the cause of.

He would do anything just to achieve his twisted desires. But as i said, no matter how 'toxic' he seems and is, he does care for you, so he does ask you about your opinion... in his own 'kokichi' type of way.

(^) By that i mean is him turning into The Riddler and not going to say it straight up, only speaking in riddles and leaving the figuring out part to you OR he'll tell you, but in a way he isn't there. (Ex. A random letter being shoved into your dorm/apartment/house/etc. door, and not knowing who it's from until you recognize the writing and the very bad grammar.)

Okay but in all seriousness, aside from my own toxic version of Kokichi, he's into bondage for sure (both recieving and giving, but ill go further into this later), some parts of BDSM, but not fully. He thinks it's 'Weird and unsanitary. And i definitely wouldn't act like an animal or a child for... sex!' -His words.

I think he would actually be pretty kinky aside the ones he deems 'disgusting' (Ex. Piss kinks, feet fetishes, arousal from weather) but he is very willing to experiment with his lover.

it's pretty hard to kill you because... you're sort of dead kinda. which is great because it's hard for his luck to hurt you too too badly! which is good for him probably

he'd put up with really basically anything you do because of your status as ultimate

he's pretty indifferent about your pranks if they're played on him

if he finds out your haunting him he would say that 'you shouldn't wast your time haunting such worthless trash like me' ...which is no fun

he's hard to startle, but if you do startle him he would just flinch and be all like 'ah, you startled me' and probably end up ranting about hope and whatnot, so you end up just going away(probably)

KOKICHI OUMA

y'all are partners in crime

he uses you to help him get information(either through bribery OR you just do it willingly to cause mischief)

he practically begs you to tell him dirt on everyone

he would scheme pranks with you

if you haunted him he wouldn't really realize you were even there till you scared him.. but obviously he's gonna lie and say he knew all along

when y'all are together nobody is safe

she absolutely LIVES for the despair you being a spirit gives her(and you).

your like a challenge to her too, sharpening her manipulation skills

she would ask you really intrusive personal questions like about what it was like to die(if you did) mostly just to see you squirm if anything,, but she frames it as curiosity

she pushes your mischief into boarderline evil territory(and eventually actually evil..)

she would also use you to get information about people, similar to kokichi
