ROSE! Can I get a drunk Shinsou x AFAB reader on New Year's they're celebrating together? Explicit or not is fine!
Kissing is good (:
Ofcourse, Aevyn😃👍I think this is the 1st fanfic I have written pertaining celebrating New Year's in general, however I'm definitely not stranger to writing drunk characters and the drunk reader, so having a drunk Shinsou fanfic would definitely sound fun😁👍 If it's fine with you I definitely will have both Shinsou and the reader drunk😃👍With the reader drinking alcohol, I will definitely write it as "alcohol beverage(s) of reader's choice", to let you know🍾🍸
Tumblr media
🍾🍸Your Happy New Year Shinsou🍸🍾((Adult) Hitoshi Shinsou x Afab (assigned female at birth) x reader)
Genres: Drunken Fluff, New Year's Fluff, and Depending on reader's imagination type of genre (Warning +18⚠️: Alcohol Use, Both of the character and the reader getting drunk, and depending on the reader's imagination)
After an up and down year that's not really a great year, both you and Shinsou decided to spend New Year's together, inside the home both you and Shinsou share together. The both of you decided to pay for his hard alcoholic drinks and your alcoholic drinks together earlier that day, so you and Shinsou could drink some alcohol together later that night. Once you turned on the TV (wheather it's to watch the ball drop, or fireworks, or some (singers, bands, groups, etc...) that you and/or Shinsou are fans of, and/or other possible reasons to watch the New Year's special on live TV).
Before you turned on the TV, Shinsou was already drunk from most of the bottles of alcohol he has drank. You also were starting to feel tipsy from drinking plenty of (alcoholic beverage(s) of reader's choice), as you and Shinsou just found out at the gas closet to where both you and Shinsou live together in about free hot beverage of any size and will stay free until midnight, through a commercial on the TV you were watching with Shinsou. Shinsou then asked, "May we please go to the gas station for the free hot beverages that will be free until midnight?". You then told him "yes", considering you wanted to have the free hot beverage, too.
Drunken Shinsou carried you to the gas station, so the both of you can grab your free hot beverage and the largest size cups, as possible, too. Once the both of you got the free hot beverages the both of you wanted, the both of you walked home together, while drinking the hot beverages from the cups that are the largest size cups, as possible. You just weren't sure how he was able to carry you on the way down and be able to walk while drinking the hot beverage he has without struggling, especially while he's drunk.
Once the both of you got home, you and Shinsou already chugged the hot beverages the both of you were drinking to the point that both of the largest size cups became empty by the time the both of you got home. Shinsou got back on the couch and continued to drink his hard alcoholic beverages, while you tried to chug on some more bottles of (alcoholic beverage(s) of reader's choice) to try to keep up with Shinsou with getting yourself wasted on booze. After you went on the couch with Shinsou, the both of you continued to drink your own bottles of alcoholic beverages while Shinsou holds you, as the both of you continue to keep your eyes on the TV.
When the countdown started, you are already starting to feel wasted, as you and Shinsou finished the last bottles the both of you had in your hands. Once the countdown reached zero, the both of you have been kissing eachother for a few minutes straight and having tongues in eachother's mouths. At this point, all the both of you could think about was making out with eachother (and anything else up the the reader's imagination), after the both of you made it to a new year.
The both of you stopped making out before the both of you started talkin about you New Year's resolutions. "My New Year's resolution is (up to reader's imagination what the reader' New Year's resolution is). Now what's your New Year's resolution, babe?", you said to Shinsou. He was very impressed to hear what you have for your New Year's resolution, as he then replied, "Honestly, I'm not into New Year's resolutions, however if I have to choose it would be to take care of my sexy love more, than ever... Which my sexy love is you ofcourse... The reason why I say this, is because aside from keep improving myself as a pro hero, I always want to makesure our relationship between us keeps getting stronger and you're always tooken cared of and I want to spoil you more and more eachday, (Afab reader name)...". You actually found his answer for you very adorable.
Once the both of you finally snuggling together (you on top and Shinsou on the bottom), the both of you started kissing eachother the way the both of you were earlier (up to reader's imagination for whatever happens after reader and Shinsou started kissing together the way the reader and Shinsou both were). After you and Shinsou finished kissing (and anything else that happened up to reader's imagination that happened in the previous sentence), the both of you finally fell asleep into an amazing, deep slumber, with the TV is still on.
🍸🍾The End🍾🍸
I hope you enjoyed this New Year's drunken Shinsou fanfic my Tumblr Peeps😁👍As for you @hitoshisbf I hope I written this fanfic well and I figured I'd leave up to the reader's imagination with atleast a couple parts, if not a few, including 1 of the genres and part of the warning (or 1 of the warnings), since I'm trying figure out genres with this requested fanfic😃👍As for the hot beverages part, I wanted write a little extra for the New Year's fanfic, even if the getting the hot beverages part(s) was mostly short and not exactly specific😅I'm not sure if I completed this requested fanfic a little late, I still hope you enjoyed the fanfic Aevyn🍾🍸😁👍

“You know… A girl like you and a guy like me would make a great pair, don’t you think?”
Your eye twitched in irritation, the polite smile you tried so hard to keep on your face faltering with each sentence this guy was spouting. The guy in question? Just a random subordinate who was flying a little too close to the sun.
Diamond had requested a meeting amongst the Ten Stonehearts, so you were only making your wave over to the meeting room before being stopped by someone calling out your name. Thus putting you in the position you were currently in.
“Er… I- sorry, I have urgent matters to attend to. If you could excuse me…” You tried stepping around the man but he reached out towards your wrist, stopping you in your tracks.
“Hey hey, what could be so important that you’d have to skip out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” The man smugly smirked, a shiver of disgust running down your spine.
“You must not be aware of who I am.” You yanked your wrist back from his hold. “If you’d like to maintain your position here, I’d suggest you scram and get back to work.” You dropped the polite attitude, not tolerating his persistent behavior in trying to score a date with you. You didn’t have time for this nonsense.
“Huh?? B–” Before he could utter another word, you had already resumed walking in the direction of the meeting room. Thankfully, the man made no attempt at following you so you allowed yourself to relax a bit, shoulders falling.
“You handled that pretty well, Citrine.” A smooth voice spoke, your head turning to face the source.
“Ah Aventurine, you saw all that?” You sighed, combing a hand through your hair.
“Mmm, hard to miss when it’s happening out in the open. In the middle of the hallway, no less.” He chuckled, matching your pace as the two of you walked towards the meeting. “You should’ve seen the guy's face, he was absolutely dumbfounded.” You laughed at that, imagining the weirdo’s expression.
“Good, he needed a reality check.”
You both laughed.
It wasn’t long before the both of you reached the designated meeting area, confirming your identities before stepping inside. Most of the Stonehearts were already in their seats, waiting on those who were making their way over. Immediately, you saw Topaz talking with Jade, seemingly discussing business matters as they both held serious expressions. You and Aventurine had started walking towards them, both of them noticing your presence and giving you a small greeting.
“Citrine! How have you been? I haven’t seen you around lately.” Topaz smiled, concluding the conversation she was having with Jade.
“Mm, could be better. The last assignment I received was a lot harder than expected,” You answered, taking a seat next to her. “What about you? I heard about what happened on Jarilo-VI.”
At the mention of her previous assignment, she grimaced with a frown replacing her smile. “Ah… We don’t talk about that… Other than my demotion, I’ve been doing fine. There was a new game that came out recently so I’ve been playing it since.” You hummed, crossing your arms over the table.
“Aetherium Wars? I keep hearing all my subordinates talking about it.” Aventurine spoke, mimicking your actions. “Speaking of subordinates, I’m sure Citrine has an interesting story to tell you both.” He poked your shoulder with his finger, a sly smile on his face.
Rolling your eyes, you recounted the earlier event to Jade and Topaz, the four of you gossiping about that specific worker.
“Oh, him? I’ve been hearing a lot about him from some of my female subordinates.” Jade rested her head on the palm of her hand. “Apparently he’s been trying to coax women into sleeping with him. Management isn’t able to do anything about him as these are only rumors.” She sighed disappointedly, “It’s best you avoid him, Citrine and Topaz.”
You made a mental note of Jade’s words, Diamond’s authoritative tone garnering everyone’s attention. You sincerely hoped that you wouldn’t run into him again.
-----
Walking out of the meeting room, you stretched your arms above your head with a groan. It took forever for it to conclude, but when it did, you were excited to go back home and rest. The meeting had gone over the previous assignments each Stoneheart worked on, recounting specific details from reports and such. However, what stood out to you was the dinner that Diamond invited everyone to take part in, acting as some sort of team bonding experience.
“Excited for the dinner party tomorrow, Citrine?” Aventurine hummed, the two of you walking down the hallway to head back home.
“Kinda, I’m excited for the food.” You weren’t really much of a drinker, always the token sober friend at parties who made sure everyone was safe and having a good time. “You think you’re gonna get drunk?”
Aventurine laughed. “We’ll see how I’m feeling about drinks tomorrow night. If anything, you’ll take care of me, right?” He batted his eyelashes at you with an innocent look in his eyes.
Rolling your eyes, you playfully punched his shoulder. “We’ll see. I might just leave you out on the streets if you’re not careful with your words.” Aventurine pouted at you, sighing dramatically.
“And here I thought we were best friends. You wound me, Citrine.”
“Oh shut it, Aven.”
-----
The next day, you went about your normal routine. Reluctantly leaving the comfort of your sheets to work on copious amounts of paperwork in your office, spending your lunch break with your fellow Stonehearts Aventurine and Topaz, continuing where you left off, and then clocking out for the day. If it weren’t for Aventurine reminding you of the dinner party that would be happening later, you would’ve forgotten and gone straight to bed. So instead of changing into your pajamas, you dressed appropriately for the occasion, making sure you had everything on you before driving off to the meeting point.
After parking your vehicle and making sure that it was locked, you walked up to the front of the restaurant, seeing your coworkers already gathered near the doors. Aventurine paused his conversation with Topaz, waving you over with a smile.
“Citrine! You actually showed up.” Topaz grinned. “I thought you would’ve been too tired to come.”
“Well, someone needs to keep everyone in check, especially this one.” You teased, rustling Aventurine’s blond hair. He swatted your hands away, huffing in annoyance as he tried fixing up his hair.
“Excuse me, I think I’d be just fine without your supervision.” Fixing his bangs, he shot you a playful glare. “You on the other hand… You probably couldn’t hold your liquor even if you tried.”
“Even if I couldn’t, at least I don’t continue to participate in drinking competitions only to end up throwing up all over myself.” You recalled the last time Aventurine drank too much he could hold. The poor guy had ended up puking all over his clothes and the smell could never be washed out.
“Wha– Shut up about that will you!” Aventurine elbowed you, eyes darting around the area to make sure no one heard that part of the conversation. Topaz laughed at the memory.
“Goodness, the smell was horrendous! You should’ve seen everyone’s faces as we passed them while escorting you back home.” Topaz snickered, covering her mouth with one hand. “I don’t think we’ll ever be able to forget that memory.”
“Shut up! Both of you!”
-----
When everyone was accounted for, Diamond led you all inside, a worker of the restaurant holding the door open.
The interior of the restaurant gave off a sense of warmth, remaining both homey and lavish. The mahogany wooden counters went well with the beige walls, plants dotting every nook and cranny which gave the place a kind of liveliness. Placing your bag around the chair, you pulled out a seat and sat down, the cushion providing you with comfort. Aventurine and Topaz sat by your sides, eyes taking in the decorations and layout.
Grabbing a copy of the menu, Aventurine scanned through the various meals and desserts they had to offer, flipping to the alcohol section with a grin. “Citrine, you’ll take care of me in case anything happens..right?” He turned his head towards you, his grin growing wider at your deadpan expression.
“Duh–” “I knew I could rely on you!”
Aventurine wrapped an arm around your shoulder, his free hand clutching at his heart. What a drama queen, you thought, letting him side-hug you. You could smell the faint scent of his cologne, a rich but light aroma that held a hint of vanilla. Realizing how close he was to you, you felt your cheeks heat up, nudging him away as you gave him a lopsided smile.
“Don’t drink more than you can handle, Aven.” “I won’t, I won’t.”
The dinner, so far, has been going smoothly. The atmosphere was lively and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time together, sharing drinks and laughs, chatting about the latest trends and events, etc… You were talking with some of your fellow peers before you felt the urge to use the restroom. Excusing yourself from the conversation with a polite smile, you quickly hurried in the direction towards the restroom.
Aventurine, who had been glancing in your direction every couple of minutes, noticed your retreating form. At first, he was a little concerned due to the slight jog you were doing, but paid you no mind as he resumed listening to a coworker talk about his last assignment.
Yet..something had caught his eye, a familiar man who was sitting at the bar had gotten up from his seat and went in the same direction as you.
Despite him feeling a little tipsy, he knew his mind wasn’t playing tricks on him just yet. It was that subordinate from earlier. The weirdo who had stopped you and started hitting on you, ignoring your attempts at turning him down. What was he doing here?
Aventurine’s eyes narrowed, barely listening to his coworker at this point. He would never admit it to your face, but when he first witnessed the man trying to shoot his shot with you, he was ready to drag and throw him out to the curb, wanting to give the man hell for his unwavering persistence. His actions disgusted him, his stomach twisting and turning with deep rage when he placed his dirty hands on you.
Yet you handled the situation well, remaining both calm and professional, something that was undeserving for a man such as him. And though Aventurine would be sure to teach him some manners, he could not, for the meeting would start soon and he needed to hurry. So giving the man a silent glare, he promised himself to never let you come across that man again. Yet here he was, walking towards the restrooms.
Aventurine already accepted his feelings for you, yet he was too hesitant to make the first move. How ironic since he’s the one who usually flirts with you and teases you every day. The best he could do was give you a myriad of things, from expensive clothes and jewelry to simple trinkets. He knew what you liked, you were his close friend after all. Despite his yearning for something more, he didn’t want to risk the chance of losing you. It’s something he could never gamble with.
“--turine? Aventurine?” A finger snapped in front of his face, bringing his attention back to his coworker in front of him. “Are you feeling alright?”
“Oh- uh, yeah! I’m fine, just had a little too much to drink…” Aventurine muttered, eyes darting back towards the restrooms every couple of seconds. “I..need to go to the restroom. I’ll be right back.” Downing the rest of his cocktail, he stood up from his seat, the chair sliding back with a creak.
Nearing where the restrooms were located, Aventurine could hear the familiar sound of your voice and a man’s.
“Must I remind you that I am not interested?--”
“Come on! Just give me a chance! I know a lovely spot where we could..get down to business.” Hearing those words made you gag, shoving the man away from you to gain some distance.
“A chance? How about I give you a chance to get the hell out of here before I do it myself.”
“There’s no need for the feisty attitude! Let me buy you one drink, I’ll make it worth your time–”
“I think you’ve heard loud and clear that they don’t want anything to deal with you.”
Both you and the man’s head snapped towards the direction in which the voice came from. It was Aventurine, with his eyebrows furrowed and mouth twisted into a disgusted frown. His arms were crossed in front of his chest, magenta-cyan eyes burning holes through the man’s head. If looks could kill, that man would’ve been deader than dead.
“Tch- who are you?” The man snobbily asked, attempting to stand his ground. Aventurine laughed, walking over towards the both of you. You could feel the anger seeping from his being, permeating the air with a thick tension that anyone could suffocate in.
He was more than angry, enraged.
“I think the better question is: who do you think you are? Approaching members of the Stonehearts so casually and treating them like an item.” Aventurine towered over the man, the pressure weighing him to his spot. “Learn to respect your superiors, subordinate.”
You could visibly see the color draining from the man’s face when Aventurine showed his ID as proof, tucking it away into his pocket.
“You know, you’re quite lucky you’ve made it this far without getting fired.” Aventurine adjusted his coat. “But I’m afraid your luck has come to an end, I’ll be changing that.” Lowering his gaze to be eye-to-eye with the man, he gave him a condescending smile, “You’ll be fired, and that starts tomorrow.” Leaning back into his full height, Aventurine walked past him towards you, grabbing your hand and leading you away from the man who had not yet registered the blond’s words.
“F-fired…?” His voice was drowned out by the chattering of people and workers as the two of you got farther and farther away from him.
“Phew, now that that’s settled with… How about we have some fun?” Aventurine gave you a genuine grin this time, his personality taking a huge turn. Blinking at him, you were still registering everything that had happened.
“Aventurine…”
“C’mon Citrine, the night won’t last forever!”
You stared at him before sighing, a drink could help after all that had just happened.
“Fine… But I need to talk to you about something later.” His grin faltered but came back just as fast.
“Sure. Now here, I think this drink is something you’ll definitely enjoy.”
-----
As you promised yourself, you only drank what you could handle so you wouldn’t get flat-out drunk. And as Aventurine didn’t promise, he was flat-out drunk.
The dinner had ended a couple of minutes ago and you were saying goodbye to the rest of your peers, parting ways while lugging a drunk Aventurine behind you.
“Ugh Aventurine, how much did you drink?” Your nose wrinkled as you could smell the strong scent of alcohol radiating from him. He definitely needed to take a shower as soon as he got home. But there was a problem, a tiny issue.
He didn’t have anyone but himself at home so there was no way you could leave him alone lest he hurt himself.
“Heh, one too many…” Aventurine giggled, dragging his foot behind him. You shook your head with a small grin on your face. “Clearly.”
Aventurine had originally hitched a ride with Topaz, so there was no issue about leaving a car behind. She had offered to take him home but you felt that it was your responsibility since you’ve been close friends for a while. So with one final goodbye and hug, she left, leaving you with a drunk gambler in an almost barren parking lot. Nothing could go wrong, right?
Opening the passenger door, you helped Aventurine buckle himself up, moving his legs so they wouldn’t get hit by the door closing. After getting in yourself, you made sure everything was cleared before leaving the parking space and heading to Aventurine’s place.
Occasionally, you would glance in his direction whenever you were at a stop light, making sure that he was ok before looking back at the road. He seemed to be dozing off here and there, body jolting back awake every time he found himself leaning forward. You found it a little silly but decided not to say anything about it.
At last, you could see his house in the distance.
Putting your vehicle in park, you carefully helped him out of the passenger’s seat and closed the door with your leg. Walking up the steps to his front door, you could hear the faint sounds of his pets from the other side. There was a ‘mrow’ at the door, soft scratching noises coming from behind it.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” You smiled, turning towards Aventurine. “Do you have the keys?”
“Mm coat pocket…” He grunted, leaning on you for support as he fished out his keys. It took a couple of tries but eventually, you were able to unlock the door, pushing it open with your foot.
Three gray cats greeted you at the front, looking up at the both of you with wide eyes. They happily followed you as you made your way to the living room couch, setting him down so you could take off your shoes.
“You think you can shower by yourself?” You asked, placing your shoes in a small cubby. Aventurine gave you a small nod, swaying side to side as he walked towards his bedroom. You watched him for just a moment to make sure he didn’t trip, but with the help of his pets, he was able to safely make it to the bedroom and to his personal bathroom.
With a sigh, you walked towards one of the guest rooms to go find some clothes. You normally left a couple of your clothes in one of his guest rooms since you’d have occasions such as these where he was too drunk to properly care for himself. And the occasional sleepover or game night with Topaz and Ratio.
Fishing through the dresser, you pulled out some comfortable pajamas and a towel before walking towards the main bathroom. Honestly, you were a little jealous that he had such a big place with a lot of rooms. It made your place feel much smaller.
-----
The steam from the hot bath you just took evaporated in the air when you opened the door, stepping outside with a towel around your neck. You could still hear the water running from Aventurine’s room, assuming that he was savoring the much-needed shower. You knocked on his door loud enough so that he could hear, ear pressed against the door to hear for a response.
“Aventurine? You okay in there?”
The shower stopped, curtains shuffling which signaled that he was getting out. “Yes, I’m.. fine.” He softly called out.
“Mm..” Backing away from the door, you left to go make him a glass of water.
Plopping down onto the sofa, you grabbed the remote to the TV and flipped through different movies before settling on one that caught your interest. Soon after, you heard the door to his bedroom open and the sounds of multiple footsteps making their way to the living room.
“Citrine..?”
“Here, come take a seat. I got you some water, I figured you were thirsty.” You patted the space next to you, watching as he plopped himself by your side with his pets hopping around the two of you. They had settled at the foot of the couch, seemingly interested in the movie as much as you were.
There was a brief silence between the two of you besides the sounds from the TV and occasional yawn coming from the critters. Glancing at a nearby clock, the time had read 10:37 PM, yet you didn’t feel tired. You turned your gaze back to the TV, continuing to watch whatever movie was playing. You hadn’t bothered to check the title or description.
Aventurine moved forward to grab the glass of water, drinking quite a bit of it before turning to face you.
“..You wanted to talk about something..?” He drowsily asked. Your eyes flickered to his own before settling back on the movie.
“I wanted to say thanks for.. what happened today. I really appreciate it.”
Aventurine smiled softly, “What are friends for.”
You smiled back.
He looked like he wanted to say more, but bit his tongue. Would now be the time to tell you? What would he even say? Whatever he drank at the party certainly made him feel bolder than usual if he was certain of confessing to you.
“_____…” You perked up at the sound of your name, directing your full attention towards Aventurine. Usually, when he called you by your actual name, he had something troubling him. And by observing his facial expression and body language, you knew something was bothering him.
“Is everything alright?” You turned down the volume of the TV.
“I need to tell you something,” Aventurine murmured, hands reaching to grab yours. He seemed awfully clingy, then again, he always is when he’s drunk.
“What is it?” You interlock your hands with him, squeezing them comfortingly. “I’ll always be here to listen.”
“I—“ He took a deep breath, “—don’t want to be friends anymore.”
‘Fuckthatcameoutwrong—‘
You stared at him in stunned silence, feeling a piece of you die right then and there. What did he mean by, ‘I don’t want to be friends anymore.’? Is he finally fed up with all your shit after all these years? Did he—
“I want to be more than just close friends, _____.”
Oh.
Oh.
That makes a lot of sense.
“Huh.” You idiot, is that all you can say? He gave you a flat expression, does he need to repeat himself? Please don’t make him say it again.
“I—“ “No I just— sorry. I feel the same way about you, I was just in shock.” You interrupted, palms becoming slightly sweaty.  He let out a sigh of relief.
“Oh thank goodness. I don’t think you realize how long I’ve been holding onto that.”
“Really, when did you start feeling this way?” You were curious as to when this all started because you had liked him a while back too. Maybe if you had mustered up the courage earlier on, you would’ve been together by now.
Aventurine shrugged, “Dunno. One day you just walked in through the doors and after that, I.. felt differently towards you.”
“But—“ he continued, “The more time I spent around you the more I started picking up on your little habits, what you loved, how you liked things done a certain way… No matter how big or small they were, I just seemed to notice it and I held onto it longer than I thought I would.” He coughed. “That was a mouthful.”
Laughing, you gave him a tight hug, soaking in his warmth. He hugged you back, clinging onto you as if you’d be gone within a blink of an eye. Oh how terrible that would be if this was a dream his hazy mind came up with…
But you were here, breathing the same air as him and sharing your warmth with him. This was no dream like the ones he had in previous nights. He couldn’t be happier.
-----
Groaning, Aventurine slowly blinked his eyes open. His head pounded and his mouth felt full of cotton, the fuzzy memories from last night slowly seeping into his conscious mind.
Right..last night.
Aventurine slowly sat up, being mindful of the warmth next to him as he peered down at your slumbering form. Small puffs of air left you, chest steadily rising and falling before you shuffled in your sleep. He chuckled, moving a strand of your hair away from your face.
Swinging his legs over to the side of the bed, he decided he would make breakfast for the both of you.
“Ugh…”
…After he took some painkillers.

drunken confessions prompt list
when too much alcohol loosens their tongue
🌀 leaning heavily on your shoulder, they slur, “you have no idea how long i’ve wanted to kiss you,” and you freeze, unsure if they mean it or if it’s just the alcohol talking.
🌀 they’re giggling uncontrollably, cheeks flushed, when they suddenly blurt out, “you know, you’re the only person who makes me this happy.” the laughter fades, replaced by an earnest gaze that’s hard to dismiss.
🌀 stumbling over their words, they confess with a shy grin, “i think about you all the time.” their eyes widen like they didn’t mean to say that out loud, but there’s no taking it back now.
🌀 sitting together in the dim light of the bar, they lean in close and whisper, “i’ve been in love with you for ages.” you almost laugh it off, until you see the serious look in their eyes, even through the haze of alcohol.
🌀 drunkenly grabbing your hand and holding it against their chest, they mumble, “my heart always does this around you, you know.” you can feel the unsteady rhythm beneath your fingertips.
🌀 they’re rambling on about nothing in particular when, out of nowhere, they look at you and say, “i would give up anything just to see you smile every day.” it catches you so off guard that you don’t know how to respond.
🌀 as you’re helping them get home, they rest their head on your shoulder and murmur, “i’m not drunk enough to lie about loving you.” the words are soft and slurred, but the sincerity in their tone is unmistakable.
🌀 they keep repeating your name over and over, like they’re savoring the sound, before letting out a dreamy sigh and admitting, “i wish you knew how much i care.”
🌀 after a few too many drinks, they look at you with bleary eyes and say, “you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” there’s a hint of desperation in their voice, like they’ve been holding onto that truth for too long.
🌀 as they sway slightly on their feet, they confess, “i’d do anything for you.” you laugh and brush it off, but they shake their head stubbornly, grabbing your hand to make sure you’re listening.
🌀 they stumble closer, eyes half-lidded and voice soft, saying, “you’re the only person who’s ever made me feel like this.” their fingers graze your arm, like they need the contact to stay grounded.
🌀 leaning in a little too close, they confess with a shaky laugh, “i don’t want you to ever be with anyone else.” the words come out rushed, like they’ve been bottled up for far too long.
🌀 slurring slightly, they admit, “i thought i could get over you.” there’s a hint of sadness in their gaze as they meet your eyes, like they’re realizing the truth for the first time.
🌀 as they’re drifting off on the couch, they grab your hand and mumble, “promise me you’ll stay.” their grip tightens slightly, like they’re afraid you’ll let go if they don’t hold on.

Glazed Over Eyes

Pairing: Azriel x Fem!Reader
Summary: Reader takes care of a very drunk, very clingy Azriel.
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol | Fluff

The Inner Circle had gone to Rita’s. I had opted to stay at home with Amren— saying that she couldn’t be trusted to watch Nyx alone as my excuse instead of going to the pleasure hall, besides, I’d much rather be silently doing puzzles while listening to the music coming from beside the bank of the Sidra with the windows wide open.
Feyre and Rhys had come home with pink cheeks, nearly forgetting they shared a house with others, Rhys trying to mount his mate right in front of us. Amren banished them to their room with an annoyed look before returning to the nearly complete puzzle we only started an hour ago.
A moment later, Cassian is stumbling into the room with his arm hooked around a very sober, very annoyed Nesta. She lugs him behind her, he seemed too drunk to fly so they're most likely crashing here for the night. My brows crease when I notice my mate not following in after them. Azriel was hesitant to leave me here in the first place, not wanting to go to some kind of party without me there for him to retreat to when things got too loud. I encouraged him to go, to have fun. I was now worried he was having too much fun.
"Hey Nes?" I call before they can disappear down the hall. She turns to me with creased brows and tired eyes. "Hm?" She asks. "Do you know where Az is?" I ask worriedly, fidgeting with the hem of my shirt, she pales and looks at Cassian who is oblivious to everything but her. "Azriel?" She snaps her fingers in his face and he blinks, waking from his stupor. "Uh, last time I saw him he was cradling a whiskey bottle so it's anyone's guess." He says and I square ny features. "That's reassuring," I whisper. "Sorry, I didn't know I was on babysitting duty for both Illyrians." Nesta sighs as if she's truly let me down. "It's fine, take care of Cass. I'll check Rita's." I wave her off and she nods in thanks. "If you can't find him let me know, I'll help you." She gives me a soft expression and I give her a carefree smile. "Will do." I nod at her, knowing damn well I would be too busy panicking to ask anyone for help if I couldn't find him. She nodded and left down the hall with the huge male draped over her shoulders.
"Sorry Amren, I'll be back," I say, walking towards the front door. "Go, girl. Gods know he's probably found himself in a jail cell by now." She grumbled and I pale. "Comforting, thanks," I mutter before slipping out the door.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Rita's was abnormally loud tonight, or perhaps it was just my lack of intoxication. My brows crease as I scan the pleasure hall for my mate, pulling at the bond connecting us and getting an overwhelming amount of attention back, more than a tug— a pull, towards him.
I don't hesitate to follow the golden tether, leading me right towards the bar.
I spot a familiar head of blonde hair, the girl flirting with the bartender as my mate lays his head down on the bar top.
I push past the crowd, eager to get over to them— shoving drunk males off of me until I finally reach the duo. Mor didn't notice, busy making seductive eyes toward the bartender. I tap Azriel's shoulder and he groans. "I have a mate." He waves me off and I roll my eyes. "I know," I say, he whips his head up and looks at me— eyes widening as he recognizes me. "I'm a genie." He smiled proudly and my brows twitched toward eachother, entirely confused at his giddy behavior. "I wished for you to be here, and now..." He searches for the right words in a long pause. "And now you're here." He finishes and all I can do is blink, bringing the back of my hand to his forehead. "How many drinks did you have?" I tilt my head and he smiles knowingly. "Just one, plus a few more." He shrugs innocently and I release a sigh. "You're drunk." I frown and he scratches the side of his cheek, staring at me blankly.
“I’m not—” hiccup. “Drunk.” He finishes and I arch a brow at him, my stare incredulous. “You’re also not a good liar.” I chastise and he glowers at me, setting his empty glass down on the bar and turning to me fully. “I’m the shadow-master, it’s my job to lie.” He crosses his arms over his chest and I need to refrain from my giggle threatening against my lips. “You’re the spymaster,” I correct and his expression falls.
“Whatever,” He brushes me off. “Words are dumb anyways.” The male grumbles and I laugh at his attitude. His cheeks flush pink and something tells me it’s not due to the alcohol. “You’re so pretty,” He murmurs dreamily and I roll my eyes. “Can you kiss me please,” His hands find mine, pulling me closer with a yearning look. “You’re drunk.” I remind and he groans, head going up to the sky before coming right back down to me. “Drunk on you.” He states as if that makes him any more sober.
I release a soft sigh, rising onto my toes and press a gentle peck to his lips. As I back away he looks at me with a glaze over his eyes, a dumbfounded smile coming to his lips. “That felt good.” He mused and I shook my head in disbelief, wrapping his arm around my shoulders to support him as I dragged him away from the bar and towards the exit. “Bye Mor!” I call back but I doubt she heard me, doubt she even noticed I was there with the way she was talking to the bartender.
Shadows swish around the both of us, causing the crowd to part a path for us, in fear of the shadow singer who, little did they know, was too inebriated to even think about harming anyone.
I lug him out of the bar. “Can’t fly,” He mumbles. “I know,” I pat a hand on his chest reassuringly. “Will you throw up if I winnow?” I look up at him and he takes about three seconds too long to answer. “I suppose there’s only one way to find out.” He shrugs. “Okay just, don’t do it on me,” I instruct and he nods dutifully.
I winnow us back onto the lawn of our house, Azriel’s knees buckling and his hands coming down onto them, leaning over as if he was about to hurl. “You okay?” I press a hand to his back and he nods eagerly, trying to convince himself. I comb his hair back, shadows swirling around the both of us until he’s fully recovered.
Slowly, he stands back up to his full height and drags his feet as we walk up the porch to our house, his arm around my shoulders yet again as he leans most of his weight onto me, wings just barely hovering above the floor as I open the door to our home, pulling him in with me.
“Let’s get you some water,” I say, leading him over to the kitchen and settling him down on a barstool. He sits unstably, staring at me with a stony look. I cautiously back away, afraid he’d tip over without my support, then walk into the kitchen. His eyes follow me with every step I take, shadows swirling around my legs and through my hair.
“Have you always been this pretty?” He asks unprompted, I flush, flicking my eyes up to him as I pour him a tall glass of water. “You’re like, ultra-beautiful—” His words are cut off as he topples over off his chair and crashes down onto the floor.
I pale and set the glass down, rushing towards him and falling to my knees beside his body. He chuckled as he stared up at the ceiling, making me more worried than I should have been. “Are you hurt?” My hand comes to his cheek, scanning for injuries. “From when I fell from heaven?” He raises a brow at me curiously. “From when you fell off your chair.” I correct and he blinks slowly. “Uh,” He mumbles like he has to think about it. “I don’t think so.” He uttered and I giggled, now that I know he was okay. I help him sit up, grabbing the water from the counter and handing it to him.
“I didn’t take you for a clumsy drunk,” I look at him quizzically. “The spymaster is a very quiet, very precise male.” He speaks in the third person. “And very, very, very sneaky.” He adds with a hiccup and I shake my head, making sure he drinks every last drop of the water I gave him.
Once he’s finished I take the glass and help him up. Placing the glass in the sink, he drapes his arms over my shoulders, my hands coming to his forearms as most of his weight now relies on me. “C’mon, you big baby,” I grunt as I haul him towards our bedroom. “Not a baby.” He reminds me like I’ve forgotten. “Sure,” I mumble, pulling him into our room and shutting the door behind us.
He makes the rest of the journey to the bed himself, flopping down onto it. “No sleeping yet,” I grab him by the collar and pull him back upright, beginning to undo the ties of his clothes. He helps me with the undressing, shucking off his leathers as I walk over to the armoire and find a pair of lounge pants, tossing them at him.
He hums a soft tune to help him focus as he pulls the pants up. I wander into the bathroom, open the cabinet, and find a tonic to help with headaches, issued by Madja. I walk back into the room to find him beneath the covers, already half asleep.
“Az,” I call, and his humming halts, head raising to look at me. “This is for the morning okay?” I hold up the small vial and he nods with a soft smile. “You take such good care of me,” He sighs as I climb into the large bed beside him, his arm immediately snaking around my waist and pulling me into him. “I have to return the favor somehow.” I smile up at him, brushing his dark hair from his forehead. “Thank you.” He mutters. I can only nod in reply. He leans down and presses a kiss to my forehead, then he pulls me upward and nuzzles his nose into my shoulder, pressing soft kisses there as well.
I comb my hands through his hair with a nurturing intent. Shadows settle around us, disappearing into the floorboards and corners of the room. Azriel releases a soft sigh of contentment at the feeling of his arms wrapped around me, my warmth consuming him. “Love you.” He murmurs tiredly. “Love you too,” I whisper back, and then his breathing steadies out as if that’s all he needs to hear in order to fall asleep.
Sleep swallowed him entirely, and once I know he’s cared for and safe, only then do I allow myself to fall into a slumber of my own.

sweet wine and messy lips
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: emperor geta / empress! reader
synopsis: in which geta and his wife get drunk. even clumsy and lost in a stupor, the emperor still tries to adore you in his own way.
warnings: geta talking down to people, grabbing.
a/n: im re-entering my heimdall phase (gow2) so be on the lookout for that and I apologize in advance for another hyper fixation taking me over completely
enjoy!
your hand nudged the goblet towards geta, tipping it ever so slowly to his lips until a bright maroon dusted across the pink expansion.
“try it— you’ll like it my liege I swear it!”
Geta only scoffed, his cheeks red with drunken clumsiness.
“get that away from me, wife. I’d rather drink poison than to sip on such a disgrace of wine.”
you pouted instantly, already drunk yourself, the sweet wine wafted off your figure like a cheap oil. “pretty please, husband? it’s got all the flavors you like,”
listing them off slowly, your other hand began its decent up his arm and finding passage massaging his shoulder. Geta, ever soft for your hands couldn’t help but relax in such a comforting hold.
“cherries, a hint of cinnamon—“
gods you smelled divine.
so sweet, so alluring to the man that he could sweep you off your feet right then and there.
“did I say grapes? it has honey too, just the right amount—
“wife,” the emperor shuddered. your fingernails found their way up his chest, lightly circling and smoothing their way across it as you were lost in thought, too busy naming of ingredients instead of paying attention to the now flustered lord.
“wife!” Geta interrupted, seizing your moving hand with his own ringed one.
fearing you did something wrong, your posture instantly froze; rigid and stiff.
‘calmly, you fool.’ Geta’s thoughts rang out, his grip lightened and with a feathery touch made its way to the jawline just in front of him.
clenched and tightened with stressful thinking.
“I… apologize, little wife,” he finally gritted out. you were so beautiful tonight. it’s as if the stars molded across your eyes and lit up the expansion of your pupils with untold dreams and conquests.
He wanted to drown in them.
“im tired, hm?”
your lip wobbled before a look of surprise took over the reddened and messy features you displayed.
“of course, my emperor! how could I be so silly?”
getting up off the man’s lap, you felt a tug upon the material of your robe.
it was light, but firm enough for you to turn your neck back around with a slow uneasiness and to the emperor once more.
he laid comfortably against the seat, sagging into it while his legs spread with enough of a widened expansion for your body to mold into.
his arm, the one that wasn’t connected to your delicate robes— sat against the ginger hairs littering his head, with his fingers pushed against the pale temple, making his upper body lean to the side.
he looked relaxed. happy, one might say.
“you will return with me, won’t you, wife?” although it sounded like a question, you knew it wasn’t.
even in your drunken state, the man’s stature—his temper is a trait you won’t easily forget.
so instead of having one more glass, like you had intentions of doing, you nodded in agreement.
it’s all geta needed to hear, or rather, see before clumsily gathering himself out of the throne.
instantly, the party goers raised, bowing their head completely before the man could demand them of it.
usually, the emperor would make a show of this. mumble on about how well trained they are, how obedient.
“their more like animals,” he would scoff, laughing vehemently while tugging you along. possessive fingers grazing your waist with the cool feeling of the rings brushing against any revealing skin.
such a touch brought you back to the present, cold and calculated against the backside of your dress.
following your husbands bounding steps, you avoided the looks that were thrown your way. it wasn’t wise to get drunk in front of so many people, you knew it wasn’t.
but geta had insisted.
“we’re winning the war, dearest.” he had all but giggled, pouring heaps of wine into your (once) empty goblet.
“I ordered it special for you, drink up before Caracalla gets to it, hm?”
you had peered into the drink with newfound interest. a little smile entered your face and pushed against your cheeks. such a sight almost made the emperor flustered—he’d blame it on the wine, most definitely.
it was indeed a light red, the color of the sweet wine you always loved to sip on. upon closer inspection, the smell made its way up and into your senses.
what was a few drinks? you had thought. And with a quick note of appreciation to your husband, the goblet had graced your lips.
who knew it would bring you here, barely holding yourself up against geta as you both made way for the chambers?
his left palm spread out easily against your back. with a firm hold he took lead, guiding you through the stone walls and to the bed that was calling his name.
his other hand braced against the rough wall to the side—just in case he needed to push against it.
“husband?” he heard you call out, with a low drawled out hum, geta responded.
“thank you for the wine.” your sweet voice spoke so low.. so softly against the muffled laughter and voices that spilled out of the throne room.
his fingers came up to the back of your neck, seizing it with a loving grip before his lips crashed upon the top of your head.
he had aimed for your cheek, but this will do.
“anything for you, lovely.” geta purred against the softened locks, already his arms snuck their way under your buttocks, groping and touching the flesh there.
the guards had to move a bit behind, just beside the corner of the wall to avoid any further groping and kissing that was being displayed.
it was turning out to be a sweet night indeed.

hello! Can you please write flirty drunk dialogue prompts?
hello, I can try :D
Drunken flirty prompts
(note: please imagine all of those in slurred voice)
"Were you always this pretty?"
"Hello, beautiful. You alone here?" "We literally came here together."
"Did it hurt?" *grin* "When I fell from heaven?" "No, when you fell from that chair."
"Yer so pretty..." "And you are drunk."
"The room's spinning but your face is clear. And so beautiful."
"I don't know if it's the alcohol, but you don't seem that bad now." "Thanks?"
"How drunk are you?" "Can I kiss you?" "A lot, okay."
"I can't stop looking at you."
"Do you happen to live in a museum? Cause you are a piece of art."
I hope those were helpful. Have a great day :)
PS: Please send me asks with something else than flirty prompts too, I'm so bad with flirting stuff :'D

okay okay that uh ideal partner headcannon post with lucifer where you said he would fall for you over your smile got me REELING. Can you do some headcannons (maybe a little story if your so kind o great one) about a reader who doesn't smile/laugh very often and one day Lucifer sees them just totally let loose; like maybe they see an old friend or they get super drunk or whatever, but basically they are nothing but smiles and giggles and Lucifer is 100% smitten.
You've Got A Smile That Could Light Up This Whole Town
A/N: THIS IS SO CUTE. Definitely one of my favorite requests that I've gotten. Writing Lucifer as a complete simp is my kryptonite. Thank you so much for the ask btw<3
Pairing: Lucifer/f!reader
Contents: Fluff, Pining, drunken confessions, alcohol, drinking, Lucifer being a simp
Work under the cut🤞🏻
Tumblr media
You had never been much of a smiler. You weren't depressed of course, and you were a happy person, but you just.. didn't smile.
A lot of people had asked you if you had some sort of trauma, or even if you had something wrong with you. You never let it bother you though. You knew it wasn't necessarily 'normal' but you didn't care, you were happy with who you were.
Now, here in hell, not many people smile, for obvious reasons. It's easier to blend in now and not have to deal with constant questions. Though many people at the hotel you're staying at think it's a bit odd. They have one person who smiles constantly, and another that doesn't smile at all. They think it's best not to question it.
Though one person, Lucifer, thinks of it, or more specifically you, more than he probably should. He may be the devil, but he still smiles and what not.
You're sat at the bar, a drink in hand and chatting along with Husk. Angel sits beside you, also pitching in every once in a while. Nearby, Lucifer sits in the lobby mindlessly scrolling through his phone.
He looks up every once in a while, occasionally listening in to what you have to say or what the conversation topic is.
After a while, and an amount of drinks that you can't even count, you start to loosen up. A small smile here or there at a story Husk tells or a little giggle at Angel's jokes.
Lucifer decides he's had enough of whatever he was doing, making his way up to the bar and sits down on a stool beside you. He doesn't say much, only smiling a bit at your soft smiles or chuckling along with you.
As time goes on, your laughs get slightly louder and your smiles linger for longer. But after Husk tells what your drunken self thinks is the funniest story ever, you burst into laughter.
It takes everyone by surprise, seeing you, the person who never smiles turning red and shedding tears over a story.
Lucifer though, turns a deep shade of red at seeing you like this. You're smile is beautiful to him. He wishes he could see it all the time. If this is the way to get you to smile and laugh, then by God he'll drink with you every night.
You continue to laugh, almost on the floor as he stares in awe. Why don't you smile like this all the time? Are you insecure? If so, you shouldn't be.
Finally realizing that he's staring, like a creep, he quickly turns to Husk. He needs more alcohol in his system if he's gonna see you like this all night.
"Uh- Husk?" He stutters out and Husk looks over to him a bit confused, as well as Angel and you. He flushes a bit more at the sudden attention, but quickly composes himself.
"Can I get an um.. a- drink..please." He once again stutters. Get a grip Lucifer! "Sure.." Husk replies, almost as if to question him. "What kind?"
"Hm?" Lucifer asks, thinking he was already done with having to talk. "What kind of drink?" Husk says almost like it's obvious, which it kind of is.
"Ah, okay.. um, anything apple flavored...please." Husk nods and Lucifer pulls out his phone, trying to act like he isn't a complete mess just by hearing you laugh.
Meanwhile, you start a conversation with Angel, your laughs and snickers filling the room once more. Lucifer doesn't even pay attention to what's on his screen, instead he listens in to what you're talking about. He doesn't even really care what the topic is, just that he can hear you.
Husk hands him the finished drink and he downs it like a man who was deprived of water for days. Husk, a bit surprised, but used to seeing people this way, makes him another.
A similar cycle continues for a while, you laughing, Lucifer finishing his drink, and Husk making him a new one.
Eventually, Lucifer gets to the point where he can barely remember where he's at. The only things remaining on his mind are you and your sweet laugh.
Husk and Angel finally decide its time for bed, leaving the two of you alone, still sitting at the bar. You scoot a bit closer, changing to a chair that's beside him.
You notice the way he seems to be out of it. His eyes half lidded, mouth slack, and breathing labored. "You okay..?" You ask. Your thoughts are also all over the place. You probably won't even remember this interaction tomorrow.
He shakes his head and looks to you, blinking himself back to reality. "Y-yeah, I'm good." He laughs and takes yet another sip from the glass in front of him. You've been watching him subtly throughout the night, surprised he hasn't killed himself yet from the amount of alcohol he's consumed.
"I'm surprised you're still conscious." You chuckle, and he remembers why he started drinking in the first place. The light redness on his face from the alcohol burns darker. He chugs down the rest of what's in his glass.
"Uh- yeah.. haha. I have a pretty high tolerance with this stuff." He hiccups, his words slurring ever so slightly. "Y'know, being-" another hiccup "The king of Hell and all." He finished.
You giggle lightly, the liquor in your system making you feel fuzzy and light. He smiles at seeing that he was the one to get that reaction from you.
You both continue to talk for a while, well you do, he mostly just listens, only really focusing on your features; your eyes, hair, lips, anything he can.
Then, out of nowhere, "You're really pretty."
"What?" You ask, a bit flustered. "Where'd that come from?" You question, a small smile still on your lips as you tilt your head.
"I just-" hic "Think you're.. beautiful." He confesses. Your face flushes pink as you rack through your brain trying to find a response. "O-oh.. thank you!" You curse yourself for stuttering.
He leans forward, face only inches from yours. His face is red and his eyes are droopy. He looks like he's about to pass out. "And- your smile. Its gorgeous. It's-" hic "A shame you don't smile often. If every word I said could make you smile, or laugh, I'd never stop talking." He slurs.
"Lucifer, what are you on about?" You question with a bit of a nervous giggle. He smiles and brings a hand up to hold your cheek. You don't protest.
"I mean I like you. Like, really like you. I don't remember the last time I ever felt this way about someone other than Lilith." He smiles softly at you. "You could even say that, I love you."
You freeze and your brain short circuits. He.. loves you? The king of hell, loves... you? You can't wrap your head around it at all. Seeing how you react, Lucifer somewhat comes to his senses. "Shit. I- uhm." He pulls away from you and looks down to his dangling feet. "I probably shouldn't have came on that strong. I'm sorry. I understand if you don't wanna-" He's cut off by the feeling of your lips on his. His eyes widen in surprise, but his hand eventually finds it way back to its previous spot on your cheek and he pulls you in closer.
Once you pull away, he comes back to reality and he tries to speak, but fails to form a single word. You take it as an opportunity to talk instead. "I guess you could say that I love you too." You smile widely.
Lucifer just pulls you close, wrapping his arms around you and vowing to never let you hide that beautiful smile of yours ever again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm so glad I was finally able to get this out. It was a bit rushed at the end, and I'm not too haply with it but I figured this is the best it's gonna get so mind as well not fuss over it anymore.
Once again thank you so much for the request, and for anyone else that has sent any in I promise I'll start working on them and hopefully have one or two out by the end of this week.
Just a warning that I do have finals coming up, so as before I might not be as active with writing, but I'll try my best to do what I can. Sorry I was gone for so long!!
Truths
Joel miller x younger f!reader
Tumblr media
Summary I You babysitting Sarah is the norm. When you do so tonight it's so Joel can finally let his hair down and go drinking with Tommy- he's waited eleven months for it after all. You're already expecting a very drunk Joel to return home, and you're exactly right, but what you don't expect is the drunken confession that comes with it... Chapter warnings/content I age gap. Drunk Joel Miller, Joel being good at feelings for once because alcohol helps. Drunken confessions of love. Joel complimenting reader. So much flufffffffff gahhh! No outbreak, no use of y/n. A/N I Another of many cute drabbles that my brain decided to conjure up. I really hope you enjoy Joel being a sappy, in touch with his feelings guy when drunk.
Main materlist
You’ve baby sat for Joel since precious Sarah came into this world. As much as you know Joel would love to be a stay-at-home dad he can’t afford to be and so after taking two weeks off he looked for help and there you were. You’ve lived opposite Joel for years, he’s ten years your senior and has always helped your mom with the odd jobs that have needed doing round the house. This is your way to give back. More than happy to help him.
When he asked you last week if you minded watching her so he could have a couple beers with Tommy of course you said yes, who would you be to deny the man of that. You’ve been telling him for months that he deserves a night off. He’s the most selfless person on the planet he deserves to let his hair down and have a few hours off from parenting. His job is demanding and as much as Sarah is the best-behaved baby she’s still hard work.
He's waited a whole eleven months to go out, finally feeling ready enough to leave her on an evening and go let himself get jolly with his brother. You told him to get as drunk as he wanted, that you’d stay in the spare room, so Sarah had someone close at hand that was able if needed in the night. He was so appreciative of that.
With Joel and Sarah everything is so easy, you love helping out, getting to watch Sarah grow into the little girl she is becoming. Watching Joel be the best dad to her.
It’s around twelve that Joel makes it back, you had just stared to turn everything off and lock everything ready to go to bed when you hear the taxi outside.
“I’m backkk” he sings as he enters the house dropping his keys when he goes to lock the door from the inside.
You meet him at the door as he struggles to pick them up. “Here I’ll get them, go sit down” you laugh stroking a hand along his arm as he smiles up at you.
“Okay, thanks for always being so wonderful to me n’my f’mly.”
You can’t help but laugh at the way he slurs his words.
With the door locked and porch light now off you walk back to the lounge and find him slumped on the loveseat.
“Good night?” you question to his drunk sleepy frame.
“Such a good night, darlin’ thank you. I honestly can’t thank you enough for allowin’ me t’go. How’s my angel doin’ she get to sleep okay?”
“Out like a light, she had a bath then I read her a book and she’s had some warm milk. She fell asleep on my chest and didn’t even wake when I picked her up to put her to bed. Plus she hasn’t woke up since, I’ve been in to check on her twice she’s absolutely dead to the world, talking in her sleep and all, wonder where she gets that from” you jest.
He rolls his eyes with a scoff “one time, that was one fuckin’ time you heard me say some shit in my sleep when I was nappin’ and I ain’t never lived it down.”
“No, and you won’t ever, I mean your daughter can’t even talk properly yet and she’s fucking trying to string sentences together when she’s fast asleep, I say there’s no hope… she’s gonna be just like her daddy. Just like she is in every other damn way.”
“Well fuckin’ good luck t’her, why would anyone wana take after me.”
“Excuse me Joel Miller but we will have none of this negative talk thank you very much, I happen to think you’re amazing! And I can’t help but admire the way you are with Sarah. Honestly, I hope she does grow up to be just like you that will be so much fun!”
“You’re so beautiful, got such a way with words and know exactly how to make people feel better. You’re one in a million. Me and Sarah are more than just lucky to have you around. Thank you” he then bends to take off his boots.
You feel more than lucky to have them around too. You’re your happiest when you’re in their company. Spending time with them. Going on outings with them. If Tommy and Joel wana take Sarah out somewhere they always ask you to tag along especially now Tommy brings Maria. Maybe people think that Joel and you are in a relationship, that Sarah is yours. She definitely looks like she could be with her blonde hair and blue eyes that match your own. “Well I’m lucky to have you two too.” You reply with a big smile.
He chuckles as he struggles with his laces, and you watch the way his calloused fingers can’t get a grip on the knots, so you move to take them off for him as he looks up at you “you two too, that’s a tongue twister, you two too, you two too”
“You’re so stupid sometimes Joel Miller” you chuckle as you untie the laces.
“M’not” he pouts.
“You are, but I wouldn’t change you” you giggle having now taken off his boots and are moving them to their rightful place.
He laughs again as you make your way back to come and sit next to him. “ahhh, I like you darlin’” he sings letting his head fall back.
“Well I like you too, guess you ain’t too bad are yah” you giggle.
“No I-” he sighs sitting back up to look at you “I mean I really really like you; I want you to be mine.”
Did he really just say that?
“Wh- sorry what?”
“I want you t’be mine, forever”
“Joel you’re drunk” you chuckle.
“Yes, but I want you, I always want you every damn minute of every day. I can’t fuckin’ fault you baby you’re absolutely amazin’ at everythin’ you do, treat my daughter like she’s your own. Man I wana fuckin’ worship the ground you walk on for the rest of my life; I just can’t get over how amazin’ you are. And I’ve fallen in love with you.”
Fuck. Is this really happening?
“Joel” you stutter, “I don’t, I really don’t know what to say. I just, this is a lot” you move away from him slightly so you’re able to look him in the eye.
“I know you don’t believe me but s’true.” He mumbles as he leans toward you.
“Joel what are you doin?”
“Can I kiss you?”
“What?”
You’re surprised more so than anything that he’s actually asking permission. He’s pissed but still being a gentleman. That’s more than you’ve ever experienced before, but that’s how Joel has always been. Going above and beyond for the girls who mean so much to him in life. He respects women the way they should be respected.
“I wana kiss you so bad.”
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea Joel.”
“Please lemme kiss you, v’wanted to for so long. Just been too much of a pussy t’ever ask you.”
He leans forward more losing his balance, so you place your hands to his chest to push him back up “Woah, okay big guy listen, I’ll stay over tonight as planned just in case you or Sarah need me, but nothing’s happening, I’ll let it happen if you still feel the same way in the morning, okay? Now go to bed you need to start sleeping this off.”
As much as you want to believe what he’s saying you don’t know how much is the whiskey talking and the last thing you want is to embarrass yourself OR him.
He pouts but nods before standing from his seat and walking to the stairs staggering as he treks up. “I’ve already put you a glass of water on your bed side table, drink it please” you add.
He turns back to smile at you as you move to place his shoes by the front door. “Such a good girl” he utters as he staggers his way up.
It sends tingles through your whole body. ‘Such a good girl’ replays in your mind over and over as you find yourself eventually in bed falling asleep too.
When he wakes up, he wakes to the smell of coffee and that hasn’t happened in a long ass time. Plus he’s got a banging headache, but his heart is also going one hundred miles an hour.
That’s when it dawns on him- shit he told you the truth. He had a lot to drink, enough to make a fool of himself but not enough to forget and yeah, he did mean exactly what he said to you, and he will tell you that. He sits up in bed familiarising himself with his surroundings, the room still spinning slightly, he looks to his bedside table and finds the glass of water he downed last night refilled and some painkillers there waiting for him.
He smiles knowing that means you’ve snook your way into his room during the night to ensure he’s looked after. He quickly takes the tablets and downs the whole glass completely parched from last night’s shenanigans. His body shakes slightly but not from the effects of the alcohol, he’s nervous to face you.
After eventually dressing himself, he walks down the stairs watching you sat at the table feeding Sarah her porridge. Neither of them have noticed him and so he stands and watches for a minute before interrupting the bonding moment.
“Is that yummy?”
She shrieks in reply "yah!"
“Mmm yeah it looks sooo yummy, you’re such a pretty girl huh you want some more?”
“Mo!”
“Yeah, some more good girl you’re so smart!” You praise as you place another spoonful into her mouth. She’s always been quick at everything she’s already walking and she’s saying some words. She’s the smartest little girl and you’re so proud of her.
“She gets that from me.” He adds startling you. You jump in your seat.
“Jesus, you made me jump” you chuckle.
Sarah giggles at the sight of you jumping.
“Dada!” She calls.
“Hey babygirl, is that nice?”
She nods smacking her porridge covered chops together.
“How you feeling?” You quiz observing the way he squints at the light.
After pouring himself a coffee he comes to seat himself in the chair next to you. “Like absolute utter s. h. i. t”
“I bet, you were pretty out of it, said some crazy stuff last night.”
“I did?”
“You don’t remember?”
Of course he does but he likes this game “enlighten me.”
“Oh no, I wouldn’t want to embarrass you, you said some things, there was this one point where I actually kinda started to believe you, but I knew it was all the drink talking. I won’t embarrass you by bringing it back up.”
“Darlin.” It comes out almost like a stern warning, shutting up your rambling instantly.
“Yeah?” You reply softly.
“I know exactly what I said last night.”
“Oh, you do?” You drop Sarah’s spoon into the bowl as you stare at him.
“Yes, I do, and I meant everythin’ that I said. Absolutely every word.”
“Seriously?”
“M’deadly serious, I wouldn’t joke about somethin’ as important as this.”
You smile, “well that’s really good to know” and then you turn back to his daughter giving her another mouthful when she squeaks in annoyance of having to wait.
He sits on the seat next to you and admires your connection with his daughter. The way she reacts to you and just how natural you are with her. Your motherly instincts kick in instantly with Sarah and she’s not even blood. He’s been mesmerised by the way you handle Sarah since she’s been born, even back when Sarah’s mom was still around.
“Oh messy girl!” You coo when she puts her hand into her bowl and splashes it around.
“I got a plan” he grumbles as he places a hand to the small of your back sending goosebumps up and down your body.
“What’s that?” You quiz not taking your eyes off Sarah as you give her another mouthful.
“You and me Friday night, m’gonna take you out. I’ll get Tommy t’watch Sarah.”
You gasp at the feeling of him rubbing your back with so much care and in the fact that he’s going out of his way to take you out.
“We’ll go to that Italian you love. What do y’think?”
You turn to look at him with a smile. “I’d love that so much. Thank you, Joel.”
“My pleasure girl, just wana treat you the way you deserve and prove to you I want this and will always be in it one hundred percent as long as that’s what you want too.”
“It’s what I want.” You reply without hesitation, and he chuckles.
“Good.” He leans in placing a kiss at your temple and you close your eyes to savour the feeling of his lips on your skin for a few seconds before he pulls back away. When he does you both stare at Sarah who is looking back at you both with the biggest grin on her face. Showing off her few teeth.
You could get used to this being your life day in day out. You’ve already wished it were for months. And it seems it might actually happen now Joel has been truthful, you’ve hoped this would happen for a long time, have loved Joel for much longer than you care to admit, but it seems he’s felt the same and like you had just been too afraid to say something.
Bring on Friday night.
Drunken Confessions | Vox x Reader Oneshot
Tumblr media
I lean back in my office chair as I let out a long sigh. “Man this day was draining.” I stretch my arms up helping my body to relax before standing up from my chair.
My office door swings open as I stand and I see Vox using the doorframe for support. I eye him questionably as I take in his appearance.
He stumbles into the room without his suit jacket and his shirt slightly unbuttoned. He quickly walks over to me and pulls me into a tight hug putting most of his body weight on me.
As he holds me he looks down at me with a flushed case and half-lidded eyes. I wrap my arms around him to help support his weight and notice the strong scent of alcohol on him.
"(Y/N)..." he says my name with a flirtatious tone but in a whisper making his breath brush against my face.
“Yes Vox?” I reply back trying to gauge how drunk he actually is right now. He leaned down pulling me back into a hug burying his face in my shoulder and kissing my neck as he spoke.
"I'm drunk..." he mumbled, his breath warm against my skin. His eyes were half closed and his hands started lazily tracing patterns on my back.
He chuckled to himself, the sound slightly slurred from the alcohol. I tense up slightly as he kisses my neck but quickly relax as I sigh.
“I’m glad we’re self aware. Come on, let me get you to your room.” I try to gently pry him off of me so I can start leading him to his room.
He clings to me tightly, his grip refusing to loosen, still nuzzling his face against my neck.
"I don't want to go to my room," he whined, pressing his body against mine. "I want to stay with you." he mumbled.
I glance at the clock on the wall as he continues to embrace me. “Vox, it’s super late, you need to go to your room and sleep.”
He shook his head refusing to let go. Instead he starts leaning down and tracing his lips down my neck, leaving behind kisses. Once he reaches the crook of my neck he nuzzled against it.
"No..." he breathed. "Not tired, not done with you yet." his words were getting more slurred and his hot breath sent shivers down my spine.
My face immediately flushes. “Alrighty no more of that.” I pull him away from me but still hold him up so he doesn’t fall.
“We’re friends but we’re also coworkers and you’re way too drunk and clingy right now. If you don’t want to go to bed at least sit on the couch and let me get you some water.” I try to compromise with him.
He whined in complaint but relented and allowed me to lead him over to the couch. His drunken state and his clinginess made it difficult, but it didn't help that he refused to let go of me. Once we reached the couch, he sat down but continued to pull at me.
"You're warm." he mumbled, pulling me down with him so I ended up sitting on his lap. I sigh as I eye my mini fridge across the room with water.
As he sat sprawled out on the couch, and me now sitting on his lap, I can feel his chest moving with every breath he took and his heart beating.
He stared drunkenly into my eyes, his gaze hazy and unfocused. "You're pretty," he mumbled with a smile. His fingers were gently tracing the hem of my shirt.
“Even though I know you're drunk, hearing you give out compliments is very odd.” I joke. He looked up at me with half-closed eyes and a crooked smile as he continued tracing circles on my back and pulled me in closer.
"Maybe I should compliment you more often," he mumbled. He reached up and tangled his hands in my hair, staring at my face for a moment before his gaze drifted lower.
"Or maybe I just really want to make out with you right now," he added, his words slurring together.
We’re both silent for a moment as we observe one another. I feel myself tense up at the thought that just popped up in my head. “Do you like me Vox?”
He can’t possibly have feelings for me right? We’ve known each other for a while, but we just recently became friends. I’ve worked for him longer than we’ve been friends. There's no way he has feelings for me.
He kept staring at me with his drunken, lust-filled gaze and a crooked smile. He seemed to be processing my question, contemplating the answer.
Then he suddenly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me against his chest. "Of course I do," he mumbled, leaning down to press a kiss against the top of my head.
"You're beautiful and smart and... " he trailed off, his eyes wandering down as he started tracing circles on my back again.
As my body relaxes into his own all I can do is process what he just said. Vox likes me. Sure he’s drunk right now but for some reason I can tell he meant what he said.
His hands continued tracing circles on my back, occasionally making their way up to my neck and stroking my hair. His touch is gentle yet possessive, his fingers lingering on my skin and occasionally digging lightly into my flesh.
He mumbled something I didn't quite catch as he moved his head down to my neck, burying his face against it as his lips lazily traced kisses down my skin.
As he kissed my skin, he began mumbling more incoherent praises and murmurs. He nuzzled his face against my throat, his breath hot and his lips tracing a burning path as he moved from my neck to my jaw.
“Vox.” I murmur out. He lifts his head up, looking at me with a hazy and unfocused gaze.
His eyes were half closed and his breath was warm and tinged with the smell of alcohol as he looked at me curiously. He seemed lost, like the sound of his name was hard for him to process.
"Yes," he mumbled, his words slightly slurred, his gaze still hazy and unfocused. He reached up to touch me, brushing a strand of hair out of my face with a lazy gesture.
“As much as I love this, you should really go to bed.” I give him a gentle smile as I squeeze his upper arm softly.
Vox groaned in response, his grip on me tightening slightly. There was a trace of drunken defiance in his slurred voice as he complained. "Don't wanna." he mumbled, his words slurring together. "Wanna stay with you."
I can’t help but let out a small laugh at his defiance. He’s so different when he’s drunk. “I never said I’d leave you. I just said you need to go to bed.”
His grip on me loosened slightly at my words and he groaned again, burying his face in my shoulder for a moment before mumbling something incoherent.
He seemed to be weighing his options, deciding between arguing or just giving in to my request.
After a moment, he seemed to give in and allowed me to lead him away to his room. His room wasn’t too far away from my office so it was a quick walk.
As soon as we got to his room I helped him sit on his bed and quickly grabbed a bottle of water for him before he could grab me.
He sat on the bed, leaning back against the headboard, a pout forming on his face as he watched me grab the bottle of water.
As soon as I handed it to him, he began taking big gulps from it. The water seemed to help him sober up slightly, his gaze becoming less hazy and unfocused.
However, the intoxication still seemed to linger on him as he still looked at me with a drunken smile and his cheeks flushed red. “C’mere.” He mutters out while tapping the empty spot next to him.
I obliged to his small request and sat next to him. He readjusts himself so he’s laying on his back and pulls me into him so I’m on my side with my head on his chest.
He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to his chest and nestling his face in my hair. As his fingers traced circles on my back, he let out a content sigh.
The sound of his heartbeat and the slow rise and fall of his chest creates a soothing rhythm that I can feel beneath my cheek.
“You’re comfy.” he mumbled against my head, his voice still slightly slurred and I began to smile. “Good you should be able to fall asleep no problem then.”
He smiled softly, his fingers now tracing lazy patterns on my back. "Mmmm I'll fall asleep... If you give me a kiss." he said in a half slurred whisper.
His gaze was still hazy, but he had regained some clarity as he stared at me, his smirk lazy yet cocky.
I start to laugh as his normal personality is starting to resurface. I sit up slightly and place my hand on his cheek. We stare at each other for a moment before I lean further in and kiss him gently.
He immediately reciprocates, the kiss slow and languid as his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
As the kiss lasted, he deepened it slightly, tilting his head to get a better angle. The kiss continued for a few moments before he finally breaks away, a small smirk lingering on his face.
“Hmmm I guess I can go to sleep now.” he said in a low tone. The smirk quickly became a smile as he pulled me back down and held me close to his chest.
“Good cause you’ve made me exhausted.” I joke as I wrap my arm around his waist. He chuckled softly, the sound warm and low in his chest.
He continued to hold me tight, taking a deep inhale before letting out a content sigh. His fingers lazily traced patterns on my back, slowly slowing down as his breathing became deeper and slower. He seemed to finally relax and let sleep start to take over his body.
“I like you too, Vox.” I whisper as I begin to fall asleep as well. Right before I fell asleep, I thought I heard him mumble something that sounded like "I love you" in a tired and slurred speech.
But I couldn’t be sure if he did say that in his drunken stupor or if my sleep-addled brain was just wishful thinking. Either way I was extremely content right now.
Can you write another jealous sirius fic? I love your work!🫶🏾
Par for the course, this is less 'jealous' and more 'gently possessive', but yes I absolutely can! Coops credit goes to @lumosinlove, but I once again tale the burden of a shitty OC. Enjoy!
TW alcohol mentions, mild drunkenness
The sway of his hips was something to behold. It was subtle (everything about Remus was subtle, if he could help it), but movement rippled from the strong arc of his shoulders and narrowed the world to a single place of fineness. His shirt was loose and casual; Sirius’ mouth watered at the thought of getting to touch the small of his back. It wouldn’t take more than a slip of his hand.
Remus meandered around the edge of the crowd in a winding path. Sirius hid a smile in the side of his hand. He caught a glimpse of pink cheeks when Remus turned his head at the change in music, lips forming a soft ‘oh’ of excitement—he picked up the pace with only a little wobble and Sirius couldn’t help a snort.
Please, let me—
I got this. Remus’ insistence had been adorable; the press of his entire palm over Sirius’ mouth, even moreso.
You’re drunk, honey.
I’m tipsy. A kiss to his forehead. And I’m fine.
He was fine. Remus didn’t really do ‘not fine’, didn’t like the cotton-mouth feeling the next morning, would probably commit a murder to avoid an unnecessary headache. But at this point in the night, he was certainly tipsy enough that Sirius questioned his ability to not spill water all over them both.
Lily’s hair flashed in a copper fan under the low light when James spun her. Her laughter spiked over the noise of the other dancers, unfiltered by the canopy above the dance floor. He leaned back in his seat with a sigh and followed Remus with his eyes as he bobbed and wove, all kinds of amber honey against his soft blue button-down. It was nothing fancy. They went dancing often now, and grew bored of dressing up.
Sirius thought he looked better than a dozen Stanley Cups.
He narrowed his eyes. It seemed those thoughts did not belong to him alone.
Remus hadn’t noticed yet; that much was clear from the tilt of his smile as he watched James and Lily dance before moving closer to the bar. Sirius suffered to take his eyes off the line of his jaw to fix on the other side of the bartop. The man there was watching Remus with absolutely none of the respect he deserved. That alone made Sirius want to kick his stool out from under him, but then the fucker stood up, and—
Someone’s hand was in his hair.
“Blegh—”
“Excuse me,” James said loudly, cupping Sirius’ face in both hands. “Hello? Captain RBF, you’re off the clock, I need my bestie for the evening.”
“Don’t say bestie.”
Lily’s palm moved down to clasp across his forehead, as if feeling for a fever. “Doctor, he’s dying,” she declared. “I prescribe one song, or two and a half minutes of attempted fun.”
“That might kill him faster,” James said, solemn as the grave.
“I’m having fun!” Sirius protested. “And—move, you’re blocking my view.”
James’ brow furrowed. “Of what? The best view is right in front of you.”
A disgruntled noise found its way out before words could; he batted them away, but they just settled down in the adjacent seats and squished him between their shoulders. He couldn’t find it in himself to be grumpy about it.
“Alright,” Lily sighed. Her nails drummed a gentle chime against her gin and tonic. “What are we grouching about tonight?”
“The—ugh, would you fucking look at that?” The man from the stool had nearly made his way to Remus by now. James and Lily shared a look in the corners of his vision. Sirius groaned and took James by the chin, turning his head toward them. “Look.”
“…I don’t see anything.”
“Are the glasses just for show?”
“Yes.”
“Oh,” Lily said suddenly, only to muffle a giggle behind her hand.
Sirius turned to her in dismay. “Don’t laugh!”
“Is that it?”
“It’s not funny!”
“Honey, you married somebody with a cute face and a rockin’ bod.” Lily reached out to pat the back of his hand. “This is the price you pay.”
James nodded, taking a slow sip of his lemonade. “It’s true. Basic risk-reward, my man.”
Public Shithead Number One sidled up to Remus at the counter. Sirius’ stomach turned. “Can I—”
“Bodily harm is forbidden,” James interrupted.
He chewed the inside of his lip. “…Can I—”
“Probably not.”
“It wasn’t bodily harm.” Mostly.
Lily flicked him on the shoulder. “How about we try putting on a happy face for a double-date and enjoying the show?”
“I’m gonna go get him,” he muttered, setting his napkin aside.
Four hands grabbed him before he could so much as stand. “No,” James and Lily chorused.
“That guy is going to flirt with him!”
“What’s gonna happen?” Lily asked. Her brow arched at a frightening angle. “Hmm? It’s Remus, dummy. He looks at you like the sun shines out of your ass.”
“But he’s kind of drunk,” Sirius protested.
“So he probably won’t even notice any flirting. He’s oblivious enough when he’s sober. If you march over there, he’ll just be upset.”
Upset. God, Sirius hated it when Remus was upset. Any step past mildly vexed was devastating. And when he was otherwise having such a good night, looking so cute and cuddly with his pink cheeks, it was out of the question.
“Fine,” he managed. The table creaked when he rested his elbows on it. “But I’m keeping an eye on the shithead’s hands.”
Lily’s eyes gleamed with amusement as she turned to James. “Can you leash him?”
“Have I ever?”
“He’s making moves.” Sirius bit down on the inside of his cheek to control his scowl. Remus didn’t even like blonds. It was ridiculous for the shithead to even try, with his slacks and overbalanced swagger. The stretch of Remus’ shirt over his upper back while he leaned on the bartop was infinitely nicer to look at.
“Don’t explode, sweetheart.” Lily patted his shoulder, tapping away at her phone. “I don’t want to clean it up.”
“Look at him. He’s like a peacock—oh.”
The tapping paused. “Oh?”
“Remus noticed him.”
“Yeah, the guy’s practically in his lap.”
“No.” A grin budded in Sirius’ chest and bloomed across his face, urged on by horrible, giddy joy. “No, no, he asked Remus a question.”
Next to him, James straightened; the front legs of his chair hit the tile with a soft clunk. “Remus noticed him?”
Remus was fully turned to the side now, hands tight around two water glasses and face lit by more than just Edison bulbs. His profile was sharpened by the pale canvas backdrop as he leaned in slightly, flushed with excitement. The shithead looked thrilled.
Remus took a deep breath, and opened his mouth.
“I love that little nerd,” Lily murmured, leaning into Sirius’ side with a hand to her mouth. “He’s so weird. What do you think set him off?”
“I have no idea,” James said through a laugh. “But I’ll pray for that poor soul.”
“I won’t.” Sirius squinted for a better view. The shithead’s smile was long gone. Before his eyes, the hand that had been itching to wander was shoved solidly into the pocket of charcoal slacks.
Remus Lupin was the greatest part of his life, the moon to his stars, the wing to his center, his favorite non-James individual. He was intelligent, hardworking, and handsome to a fault. Sirius constantly marveled at his kind heart.
When Remus had a touch more alcohol than usual, his helpful nature and brilliant mind tended to entangle the closest victim if they asked the right question, Cthulu-style. He’d spill anything: hockey strategy, random knowledge, government secrets.
By the looks of it, the shithead had asked a very interesting question, indeed.
He attempted an escape, but Remus touched him gently on the shoulder and snagged his attention right back. “It’s an art,” Sirius muttered.
James sighed. “I should save him.”
“No, no.” Sirius reached back blindly to pat his arm. “Leave it. For me.”
“You wanted that guy flayed on your doorstep five minutes ago.”
“This is so much better. I’ll get him in a minute.” Or three.
The song changed and Lily let out a soft gasp. “No, go get him, I want to dance.”
Sirius rolled his eyes, but stood and brushed his hands off on his pants. “You hate it when I have fun,” he called.
“Sure do!” Lily chirped, raising her glass.
The crowd parted for him like warm butter. The wind was picking up, cool on his skin and ruffling the back of Remus’ hair where it was just starting to curl. He supposed that was the benefit of finding an outdoor space; no sweaty, crushing darkness to get stuck in as the night went on.
“—which is where I met Moody,” Remus was saying as he drew closer. His forehead creased. “Have I mentioned Moody?”
The other man looked vaguely terrified. “I…don’t know.”
Remus waved a hand. “It’s fine. He was my mentor out of college. Cranky bastard, fake leg, heart of gold. Anyway, I worked with him for a couple years, mostly on broken bones, but some tendon stuff. I told you about those, remember?”
The man’s throat bobbed. “Yes. Look, I was going to ask—”
“Oh, I can answer any of your questions,” Remus said earnestly. Sirius’ heart skipped a beat at the genuine hope in his voice. Fucking sweetheart. “Seriously, I—oh, hey!”
“Hi.” The small of his back was just as soft as Sirius knew it would be. His temple was a little warmer than normal when he brushed a kiss over it, but Remus pushed into it with a quiet hum, and that banished all worry from his mind in one blow. “Having fun?”
“Yeah, I made a friend. This is Derek, he’s so nice.” His blinks were slow, and he took a moment to focus when he looked up. A crooked smile followed on its heels. “Missed you. Got your water.”
“Thanks, loup.”
A faint cough caught their attention. Sirius twitched a brow; ‘Derek’ shuffled in place for a few seconds. “Is he, uh, yours?”
“My what?” It was best to keep it blunt in situations like this. Sirius felt for the man’s general confusion, but it wasn’t like he had missed Remus’ wedding ring.
“Husband,” Remus answered for him with a nudge to Sirius’ waist. “Duh.”
“I was asking your friend,” Sirius laughed, taking one of the glasses from Remus. Derek’s gaze flickered over them. He watched his eyes bulge when they landed on Remus’ left hand.
Huh. Perhaps he had missed the ring, after all.
“Yeah, I’m—” Derek patted his pockets as redness crept up his neck. “I’m just—I’m going to—sorry about that, excuse me.”
Sirius watched until his glossy hair was out of sight. Then, and only then, did he look back down at Remus. “You’re a terror.”
“Hmm.” Fingertips trailed over his belt; Remus nestled his cheek in the bend of Sirius’ neck. “I like these jeans.”
“I know.”
“I like this song.”
“Lily’s already dancing. Asked me to come find you.”
Remus smiled, and planted a sloppy kiss to the side of his neck before tangling their fingers. A long exhale warmed his skin. “You’re gonna love me forever, right?”
Sirius buried his nose in the top of his head and took a deep breath. He let his other hand settle at the back of Remus’ neck, drawing a happy noise from him. “I’m going to love you forever.”
“That’s good.”
“You’re not going to say it back?” Sirius teased.
Remus pulled his face free long enough to narrow his eyes. It did nothing to quell his grin. “Come dance with me, then we’ll see.”
A soft ‘I love you’ found them far before the end of the song did. Sirius closed his eyes and savored the shape of it, pressed against his lips like a prayer and a promise.
sail away with me - piarles (pg10 && cl16)
Tumblr media
"Charles," Pierre says, his voice light and sweet and only slightly slurred, "you are a little too drunk for this, I think." "No, no I'm not. Tell me what you want to say.”   Or: Charles can think of no one better to spend his win with than Pierre.
READ ON AO3 || Graphic Credit
It is really no surprise to Charles that at some point during the night, Pierre ends up in his arms. It's cool outside on the balcony, and he had been enjoying a few moments of quiet away from the club and the celebrations of his win to simply gaze out at the water and feel the air against his face. Pierre, apparently, has similar intentions and comes stumbling out moments into Charles' respite with a goofy grin on his face and sunshine lit up in his eyes.
And somehow, in between the here and there, they end up tangled together in a messy, mostly drunken hug.
"Mm, your heart is so fast." Charles whispers into the shell of Pierre's ear, focusing on the rapid beats that flutter against the side of his chest. At first, he had assumed it was his own heartbeat, but his is slower, steadier, and throbbing in a way that he can feel from the tips of his fingers to the tips of his toes.
Pierre chuckles at that, holding on just a little bit tighter to Charles' waist. "I am excited for you. This is a big night."
Charles hums in acknowledgement, swaying softly on his feet. Pierre tightens his hold and keeps him firmly upright - impressive, really, because he knows Pierre has had more to drink than even he has.
"Yes, but it is very fast," Charles insists, bringing one of his hands up to place firmly above Pierre's heart. This way, he can keep track of it better than trying to feel the fleeting beats against the side of his chest. "It's racing."
Charles watches Pierre's throat flex as he swallows thickly, and slowly trails his gaze up to Pierre's lips, and then to his eyes. He can see the cloudiness of the alcohol swirling about in the bright blue irises he adores so much, and it makes him smile warmly.
"I am also very drunk. Excited and drunk." Pierre counters, as if that should answer every question that Charles could have from now until the next morning when they inevitably both wake up with a slamming hangover and handfuls of regrets.
Charles takes a single step backwards, still swaying slightly, and really looks into Pierre's gaze. Pierre is looking back just as intensely, as alert as he can be for as tipsy as he is, and he's smiling at Charles in such a sweet and gentle way that it makes his chest clench up with emotion. "It is not because of me then?"
Pierre has the wherewithal to look confused for a moment, eyebrows furrowing as he continues to stare Charles down. "You - what? I thought that was obvious at this point."
"Obvious?" Charles blinks back shock, his mind swirling with different thoughts and emotions that he can't seem to make sense of. The alcohol makes him so very brave, but also so very, very vulnerable with his heart. "So it is going fast because of me?"
"Charles," Pierre says, his voice light and sweet and only slightly slurred, "you are a little too drunk for this, I think."
"No, no I'm not. Tell me what you want to say.”
Pierre raises an eyebrow at Charles, then, looking partially confused, partially shocked, and partially amused. The alcohol is almost certainly slowing his brain down in the same manner as Charles’, and he ends up shaking his head after a few moments. Charles, ever impatient, leans in closer to him and nearly bumps their noses together in the process.
“Charles -”
“Do you want to kiss me, Pierre?” Charles asks, effectively shutting him up before he can get too deep into another scolding. “Is that why your heart is racing? You can kiss me, you know, I would like it.”
Pierre laughs, then, and Charles can’t help feeling a little self conscious. He doesn’t think this is very funny at all. In fact, this is the most serious he’s been about something in a long time. Surely he hadn’t misread all the signs that Pierre has been sending him all these years. Surely he didn’t just make the biggest mistake of his life, offering himself up so boldly like that. Oh, god, he’s stupid. He’s stupid and Pierre is going to hate him now, and –
“You are thinking too much.” Pierre whispers, and when had he gotten closer? When were his lips so close to Charles’ that his breath was ghosting across them?
Charles sucks in a breath, and Pierre’s lips are on his own before he can even think to exhale.
It’s so painfully sloppy, with their poor, drunken aim and teeth gnashing against lips, with Charles too needy and Pierre too cautious - it takes them longer than it should to find a rhythm that works for them. Charles, ever eager, already has his lips parted for Pierre’s tongue and when it finally slides into his mouth, he hungrily envelops it with his own tongue like it’s precious oxygen that he needs to survive. He can feel Pierre just lightly swaying on his feet, his breathing short and shallow through his nose, and at that moment Charles does not care how sloppy or needy this kiss is. He doesn’t care that they’re both a little too tipsy, or that this might make for a pretty hefty conversation in the morning. None of that matters right now, not when he’s here on this balcony alone with Pierre, kissing him like his life depends on it (and maybe it does, maybe his whole life has been leading up to this one particular moment).
And when Pierre breaks the kiss apart to try and catch his breath, Charles feels a stirring in his lower belly for more. A need so raw and beautiful that it can hardly be ignored. Pierre looks absolutely breathtaking in the moonlight, with his lips swollen and dark red and his eyes glittering with an emotion Charles isn’t quite ready to process. Oh, if he could spend forever out here with Pierre, it simply wouldn’t be enough.
“Pierre - you -”
“Feel my heart now.” Pierre softly commands, taking Charles’ trembling hand into his own.
He presses Charles’ palm into the curve of his chest, against his sternum where his heartbeat is firing away madly. Charles tries to count the beats as they fall into his hand, but his mind is too slow, and Pierre’s heart is beating too fast. He grins, sloppy and content, and leans into Pierre’s shoulder hoping to be held. The silent plea is answered immediately as Pierre snakes an arm around his waist and holds him close.
“Now it is going absolutely crazy.” Charles remarks, his voice full of amusement and affection. “But that is fine, mine is too.”
“Yeah?” Pierre prompts, leaning down to gently nuzzle their noses together in such a gentle and tender way, it almost makes Charles’ teeth ache.
“Yeah.” Charles breathes in response, leaning into the touch like he’s starved for affection and has never been touched before, not once in his life. He hears Pierre chuckle, but it simply doesn’t matter.
Nothing does. It is just the two of them alone, the gentle breeze in their hair as they stand there entwined in each other’s arms, watching the yachts sail in over Port Hercule.
