Eleven wishlists are now live and ready for gifts on the Guardian_Wishlist! :D :D :D Come and check them out!
Anyone can write or make gifts for any sign-up, right up to reveals on 17 September (Reunion Festival).
Wishlists are tagged for fandoms and media. Previous years' tags are labelled with their respective years, so check the plain fandom and media tags at the bottom for this year's wishlists.
There’s also a spreadsheet for your convenience, and we'll be updating it as more wishlists go live.
All gifts must be posted in or linked in comments. Gift comments can be anonymous or signed in. Comments are screened until reveals. The AO3 collection is open for posting.
And remember, sign-ups are open until 27 August. The sooner you sign up, the more time people have to make fills for your prompts!
Come and join in! The more, the merrier!

Non AO3 HP Fest Masterlists
AO3 seems to be down right now. (At least Fanfiction.net is still around—or we could always start writing.) Just for fun, here are some HP fest masterlists with fics and artworks hosted on Livejournal and/or Dreamwidth.
The Snape Showcase 2022 (LJ): Severus Snape through the ages.
Salt and Pepper Fest 2023 (DW): Focusing on characters over 50 years of age, in canon or not
Snarry-a-Thon 2023 (LJ | DW): Severus/Harry. A fest run by the snape_potter community on LJ and DW.
HP Bun in the Oven Pregnancy Fest 2023 (LJ | DW): All about pregnancy. The community also runs a monthly prompt challenge.
2023 HP Het Mini Fest (LJ | DW): Het pairings.
HoggyWartyXmas 2022 (LJ): A Christmas fest/party on Livejournal featuring Hogwarts staff and friends.
HP Halloween Double Drabble Exchange (LJ | DW): Bite size Hallowe'en tricks and treats. Here are some of the more recent rounds: !2020, !2019, !2018.
These fests have been running for many years. I've only linked their more recent rounds. Do check the tags on the sidebar for previous rounds.
And here are two older masterlist directories on Livejournal.
HP Master Lists: Just what it says. It hasn't been active since 2017, but it has plenty of masterlists from older HP fests.
Guns & Handcuffs: A Drarry community. It has a masterlists of H/D fests and challenges from 2004 to 2015.
There are many more older HP fests that were hosted on Livejournal, but it'll take a bit of digging around to find them. Or if you know where to find them, let me know.

This year's A Ficathon Goes Into A Bar fest is still open for sign-ups till Sunday (19th)! It's laid back, fun, & there's no penalty for failing to complete a fic.
Just decide which character you want to take into a bar and then choose at least 1 different fandom you can also write (max. 6) and the mods will randomise a character from your fandom(s) for your character to meet in the bar.
(See the comm for more detailed rules re. how you divide up fandoms, deadline dates, and all that sort of thing.)

Rating: Mature Archive Warning: Graphic Depictions Of Violence Category: Gen Relationship: Sister Camila & Sister Lilith (Warrior Nun) Characters: Sister Camila (Warrior Nun), Sister Lilith (Warrior Nun), Yasmine Amunet, Mother Superion (Warrior Nun), Jillian Salvius, Father Vincent (Warrior Nun) Additional Tags: Rated for some gore
"To see the friend, not the demon… Camila had both hands atop Lilith’s in trying to yank herself free, but she dared to detach one of them and raise it towards her foe, to her face, aiming to stroke her cheek." Scarce as it is, all evidence points to the same culprit... Camila is sure she is the only one who can uncover the truth.

Reel Time Fest
Hi, thank you for running this Tumblr! I’d love it if you can signal boost this challenge I’m running on Dreamwidth (but anyone can take part!).
Reel Time Fest , running from October to January.
https://reeltimefest.dreamwidth.org/
Signs ups: October 1st - November 5th Posting period: January 1st - January 31st Amnesty week: February 1st - February 8th
About: Everybody loves a good flick. And if they don’t, they’re definitely missing out. From high octane thrillers to low budget indie films, to superhero extravaganzas, to romcoms, to coming-of-age movies, to Daniel LaRusso being the ‘real’ bully, to world cinema, to Skynet taking over the world - there is something out there for everyone.
Reel Time Fest gives you an opportunity to select a film of your choosing and put a unique spin on it. You can take one element, use all elements, change things up, keep them the same (within reason) - the choice is yours.
This challenge is designed to be low pressure and all about whatever you feel inspired to create. There are no deadlines, no drafts - all you need to do is write, draw and/or create something and post on the day of your choosing.
You can truncate all of that for length, etc, if you need to.
Thank you again!  ~bh

IT'S PROMPT TIME!!!
Tumblr media
GREETINGS GENTLEBEINGS!! AFTER THE CONTINUED SUCCESS OF THIS EVENT, THE TRANSFORMERS RARE PAIRING COMMUNITY IS PLEASED TO PRESENT:
RARE PAIRING FEST 2024!!
Rare Pairing Fest is a now-annual event we host, with the goal of getting more of our favorite rare pair content out into the universe! Like last year, we’re going to use the new format, instead of the the 2020 and prior years format! Used to, we’d pull old prompts from the weekly request posts and put them back up again, but this year we’re bringing new prompts and you all will attach YOUR favorite rare pairs to them!
This year’s event will run from October 13-26, 2024! There will be 28 prompts (two for each day) with assorted themes.
The prompt list is broken down by day, and posted below. You create your work and then post to Twitter, Tumblr, Dreamwidth and/or Pillowfort on the correct day. All participants will get a participation graphic, and anyone who makes a fill for all 14 days will get a special prize! There are no minimums or maximums for this event and ALL content types are accepted (including photos & hand crafts!) Also, all ratings are accepted, but please tag appropriately! And don’t forget the #2024TFRarePairingFest tag! ALSO, if you’re participating in another event (Inktober, or similar) please feel free to double dip your pieces! (No one has enough time in the day to create two or three or more pieces and Mod eerian will never expect you to!)
Now, the prompts:
October 13 Two Is A Prime Number // College October 14 Head Injury // Climbing a Mountain October 15 Stranded in the Rust // Most Funnest Date Ever October 16 Meet Cute // Unlikely Partners October 17 The Movies // Opera October 18 Prime and Protector // Sensitive October 19 Co-existence // Cooking Together October 20 Stuck in an Elevator // Spirits October 21 Celebration // No Don't Touch That! October 22 Butterfly // Waiting for the Great Pumpkin October 23 Last Friday Night // Island Time October 24 Memory // Gentle Touch October 25 Seventeen // Goodbye May Seem Forever October 26 Eternity // Fantasy Creatures
Thanks to Aristiana for our graphics!

30 Below: resources & AO3 collection
First things first: here's the AO3 collection for all your future fanworks! Yay!
Tumblr media
Now, some links to get you started.
🐢Where can I watch due South?
Well, we're all in luck — it's on youtube!
There's also Slings and Arrows and Hard Core Logo, both great—but not only—points to get into Canadian 6 Degrees. You can DM this blog, flownwrong on DW or emotionalrisotto on Discord for a better quality rip of HCL, or something more obscure ;)
🐢Are there transcripts?
Why, yes, there are — wonderful and detailed, on Dreamwidth and AO3. Courtesy of @agentreynard!
🐢Where do I look for history and discovery?
@juniperpomegranate's lists of Livejournal and Dreamwidth DSC6D communities are an endless rabbithole of joy (note that some of them are alive on DW, pop in to see what's up!)
LJC's due South page is just one example of many, many fansites of yore. This one is still up, offers lots to see, and links to many other fansites (see: Wayback Machine)
Fanlore. Linking categories, not just fandom articles, because there's a lot more: due South | Canadian 6 Degrees.
Official site, archived. Honestly, this one is just cute. This is a link to a random snapshot — if it doesn't work, see below.
You'll have to deal with a lot of broken links. Most often, Wayback Machine has your back: paste the link into the search bar and click around on the timeline until you find a working snapshot!
These links are just a few ideas, and mostly concern the online era of dS fandom — please feel free to share your own suggestions.
Otherwise — just pick a link and go from there. Use whatever you find as inspiration. You'll likely see something I didn't and do something I haven't thought of. That's the point. Enjoy!
